Millennium City: Nova - Taking the 'Scenic' Route (Wave Two Intro)

Interaction "If we are to be allies we should be well introduced, and your armour and gear doesn't seem of any chapter I know of, at least not in the astartes, so what are you? Millitarium?"

With everyday that passed, Emile did little but eat, sleep, and workout. If they were going to stay holed up in this hotel for weeks, then it wouldn't be wasted lounging around. Familiarizing himself with his weapon, disassembling it, reassembling it, cleaning it. Everyday, Emile spent hours exercising while watching the TV to get a grasp on the situation at hand and stay in shape. At one point, he was comfortable enough to take off his armor and actually take a shower. It was a rare luxury to have a hot shower on the field. Emile wasn't one to indulge himself, but seeing as he had time, he made sure to enjoy it while he could.

One day, as Emile awaited the hotel staff to bring toiletries and the extra meal he requested each day, the staff missed the typical 3pm check in. This bothered the Spartan. This hotel prided itself on the best service possible and the protection of its clients... and something had caused them to miss out on this one easily noticeable detail while they were protecting a group of clients hunted by some dangerous group? It was suspicious, and Emile took it upon himself to investigate.

"You coming Spartan? No one has come in a while when they should of by now."

"Yeah, give me a second." The space marine thought like the Spartan, and Emile appreciated that. He quickly put on his armor and attached his rifle to the magnetic holster that comes with every Mjolnir suit. Thought it might be nothing, the circumstances indicated that it was better safe than sorry. Emile hurried after Vonyish to the elevator. "You expect anything, Vonyish? This doesn't exactly bode well."

It was 3 in the afternoon, and as always, Rhys got that feeling of being trapped, and bored in a confined space but it wasn't unusual for him to go out to the balcony to catch some air and think about his recent decisions (like getting out of Helios). He didn't even need to get back to where he came from and like any other day; food was brought to his room at least 2-3 times a day it would've been unusual if no food service were to be provided.... and so was the case; no knocks on the door, nothing, the hallway was silent "Well... it's 3 P.M. shouldn't be unusual for the food service to get here but doesn't look like it'll be here anytime soon, What is the delay about?" the one who was supposed to be 'the next Handsome Jack' said to himself as he sighed "I could yet enjoy eating later... I've got stuff to think about" but what exactly was this man thinking? Because sure he may and may not look concerned about Hyperion anymore right after learning what its like to have a corporate megalomaniac stuck inside his brain and with the attempt to turn him into some kind of robot for the plans the one known as Handsome Jack could have in his crazed mind. It had been late for the food service to arrive, so Rhys finally took his jacket, put it back on, grab the keys for his room and head out to the lobby and ask about the delay....

tumblr_nypb66m8S31rta7p8o6_250.gif

Rhys had arrived to the elevator in a rather calmed but angered expression in before he saw a few people already waiting for the lift to arrive "The people down at the lobby better give us answers to this situation, Did something in their schedule change? Because I'd much rather look for answers than not eat which I'm pretty much used to as from where I come from" This is what the salary man had to say in the presence of the 2 fellow people, but who knew what to expect if anything bad like this has to escalate to the worst of things, but even worse than what the man from Hyperion had to live (This one includes the bugging annoyance of the corporate megalomaniac as a Hologram that he had to kill for good)

Even stranger than the lack of any room service was the absence of the ever-present bellboy. The place seemed deserted barring those in the lift. Indeed, upon arriving in the lobby things went from bad to worse, the whole place was empty, bar one man stood at the front desk, resting his chin on his hand and his elbow on the countertop. "What's it take for a guy to get some service in this place?" he mutters, dinging the bell and sighing to himself.

His presence might have been comforting, if not for the bloodstains on his hands and cuffs, and the heavily used looking cleaver sat on the front desk in front of him. His entire being seemed so out of place in this high-class hotel, and the lack of people was becoming even more disturbing. At least if Charon were here, they wouldn't have to deal with this guy themselves.

It was up to the group how to approach this situation, they could get back in the lift and leave, pretend they never saw him and hope this whole thing blows over. Or they could get his attention and try to see if this man knew anything about what was going on.

The past few days have been... oddly calm. After the previous few weeks, between dealing with a supernatural coup and being sent to this weird city, some quiet is nice. Back home, she never really got a break. Being an empress takes basically all your free time away. In fact, the only time she could do what she wanted were at nights. Instead of getting a good night's sleep, Emily would run across the roofs to see Dunwall from a perspective no one else gets. Now, she can't even do that. Here, she felt more trapped than she did in the Tower. Though she could open the windows, or go on the balcony for some fresh air, it wasn't enough. At least the hotel gave them the proper accommodations, food, water, beds, even a television. Though this one was much different than what she was used to, more for recreation than security. She didn't need it, but it was still nice. Having three meals a day, entertainment, hot showers, etc. Staff came to check on them too, which was nice of them.

Speaking of the staff though, today, Emily realized, the staff were late. That never happens. The short time she's been here it is obvious they press themselves on punctuality. Part of her wants to just sit down and watch something called "Arrow", however, something must be wrong. Since her life is currently under threat, and these are the only people protecting her, the young empress decides to get up and check. She grabs her White Streak from her end table, as well as the ammo that belongs to it, and heads for the door. Exiting her suite, she meets Rhys, Emile, and Vonyish at the elevator. "Staff late for you guys too, then?" She said openly, certain they shared the same goal as her. When it opened with a ding, there was no sharply dressed man to greet them and push the buttons. Odd. She followed the others in, and the lift descended to the lobby.

Now things are getting much creepier. A man at the front desk, complaining about the lack of service and ringing the bell. Now, under normal circumstances, this wouldn't be so weird. Unfortunately, these aren't normal circumstances. The man had blood, that likely didn't belong to him, on his cuffs and hands. Not to mention the worn and torn cleaver which also boasted it's own set of gore. Kaldwin showed herself out of the elevator and slowly walked towards the man, stopping at a good few yards from him. All red flags were waved within the Empress, she though of going for her gun but this man doesn't currently look like he wants to kill them all. She is certain he probably killed somebody, but it's best not to jump to conclusions right now about whom. If only Charon were here.

"You look like you're checking in, but I doubt you are," she said, beginning on an obvious note. "So tell me, what happened to the staff, where is Charon?" Judging by her current experience in this city, it was a low chance he'd answer. It's always nice to try, though. Now she just hopes the others don't escalate things by pulling a gun on him.

Interaction There was a suspicious lack of staff and a hostile amount of blood in the lobby. Not a single person was in sight, save those in the elevator and a single man at the counter. Emile's motion sensors picked up no further targets, and he had already marked the people with him as "Friendlies". A stretch of the term, but there was no such thing as a setting for "Neutral". That would make the HUD far too convoluted after all.

"Stay alert. Tango at the desk. Weapons up." Emile naturally took command, but with a group of civilians, he doubted they would all listen. He was pretty sure only Vonyish would listen, but he still drew his rifle.

"You look like you're checking in, but I doubt you are. So tell me, what happened to the staff, where is Charon?"

And... This woman was trying to approach the man without a weapon. What the hell was she thinking? Emile would never trust a civilian at first glance, but a civilian with a weapon covered in blood? Who WOULDN'T be suspicious. The Spartan could not possibly imagine why she would approach that man like that with cordiality.

As with his initial analysis, this man appeared alone, so it would not be too hard to restrain him for an interrogation. It would be far simpler than asking and Emile could...reappropriate, that kitchen tool to ensure the man talked. Of course, it would mainly be for intimidation, but if a man could act so casual after being coated in blood, some physical action might be required. He placed a hand on the Emily's shoulder and whispered.
"We should restrain him first. Neutralize the possible threat then ask questions. He does have a weapon, and he doesn't seem stable."

There was some amount of blood within the lobby and the lack of staff was extremely weird, it could be a murder or a mass suicide, there was a person who also had blood on his hands and cuffs, and yet there was a cleaver sitting on the front desk; this was indeed a murder, therefore he took out a Glock 17 out of the pocket the business man had placed it on and kept it out of aim “Stay alert. Tango at desk” Rhys didn’t understand the tango at desk part, but he had to stay alert and look out for anything that could be suspicious... apart from the cleaver at the desk “I suggest someone puts on some gloves and grabs whatever’s on the desk, it’s obvious that this doesn’t look like a mass suicide” then the business man saw a woman approaching one of what seemed to be the main suspect... yet this was not looking good, not even for a hotel that’s supposed to have armed people and stopping this kind of threats

tumblr_nx7ljnUr9Y1urjumko1_400.gif

What kind of sick fuck would dare to do this kind of shit?” The business man thought out loud as he looked on the amounts of blood that was lying on the ground, then he heard the following from one of the other people who were on the lift “We should restrain him first. Neutralize the possible threat then ask questions. He does have a weapon, and he doesn't seem stable." Rhys couldn’t agree more “I can’t disagree on that... but who’s got some kind of restraints like cuffs, Heck, even zipties? Also, what do you mean with Neutralize?” he said to the person giving out the restraining idea. The expression that the salary person had on his face could be representing distress.... the only question that will remain unsolved for him is “What was the person’s motive to cause such horrific incident?

  • After what felt like a blink of an eye, Sophitia was left in her room to ponder what exactly was going on. She hadn't exactly gotten an answer from the Charon figure, but from what she finally deduced after a day, most of this technology wasn't powered by magical spells that were featured within her mythology all too often. Rather, mankind itself had created these machines all on their own- surprising, as she thought that Hephaestus would have been angry had this been brought to his attention. The television, a device that transmitted images for entertainment, was apparently powered by electricity, which in itself was derived from lightning- again, surprising that this came from her own kind and not Zeus. Regardless, it had taken her a while to wrap her head around most of the modern things that surrounded her, but she was an intelligent girl and learned pretty quickly.

The food itself was of surprisingly good quality. The shiny platters caught her eye, and the fact that they had clean utensils was a pleasant surprise for her. It was a sort of quality she wasn't used to back at her home in Athens- her family weren't rich nor poor, just mere bakers. Not just that, but the showers and bathroom was a new luxury that she was allowed to experience. The warm water on her skin felt nice compared to a mere bath in a nearby lake- actually, almost everything here was much nicer than back home. That didn't mean she wasn't getting homesick every once in a while, though- she missed her family.

The young woman also wasn't used to having people check in on her every day, making sure she didn't leave or do anything to herself. The Greek would always tell the people who came in at 3 P.M.- at least, according to that clock on the wall that apparently measured time- that she was fine, but any questions she had seemed to fall upon deaf ears. Whether that was purposely done or not, she had no clue. When she had alone time, she either fiddled curiously with the television or wandered around the hotel, often ending up a few feet outside enjoying the mostly fresh air- there was some smoke from passing cars, and every time she smelled the pollution a deep frown would always find its way upon her soft face. Every once in a while, though, she would send out a prayer to her gods and polish her holy weapons. Neither action seemed to garner a response from the idols she held in her heart.

After a long period of time, though, the Athenian swordsmaiden sensed something wrong. Nobody came to her door at all when they were supposed to. Maybe they had taken a break..? No. She doubted that. She had a bad feeling lying in her stomach, and she needed to find out what had happened. The blonde girl, donning her sword and shield alongside that strange pistol- unfortunately, she didn't have any practice whatsoever with it- would have taken the elevator, but she was too late to do so. It was already heading down to the lobby, and she wasn't about to wait for it. Instead, she took the stairs once more.

The sight that met her bright green eyes was a bit... unsettling, to say the very least. The bloodied newcomer gave her the chills right off the bat, and she felt like alarm bells were going off in her mind as she nearly reached for her Omega Sword but stopped herself upon seeing the more noble Emily chose not to take the role of an aggressor. She also listened to both the armored man and the brown-haired man's statements, trying to hide her unsteady feelings from the others in the case that it was translated as fear. Really, Sophitia wasn't as fearful as she was uncertain as to how to deal with the non-guest. She decided to join the Empress' other side- the one that the soldier wasn't holding her shoulder- and leaving her hands at her side for the time being.

"If you don't mind me asking, either, what happened to you? And what would your name be?" She lightly quipped, careful to maintain a polite yet firm tone that almost made her seem like she was trying to have a light conversation.

The marine saw the other people that joined him and the Spartan at the elevator but didn't greet them. When the elevator reached their floor and open he was ready to tell the bell boy to go to the lobby, but there wasn't a bell boy, odd only more reason to get suspicious. He only tightened his grip on the double barrel.

When the elevator reached the lobby he was greeted with what looked like a ritual to Khorne, but no daemons in sight... weird. He heard Emile suggest get ready but the marine was already ready. Before he stepped forward the girl that called her self Emily attempted to communicate in an almost friendly matter with the Suspect but Emile seemed to shut her down so he saw no need to add his two cents, instead he shut down the other new comer, Sophita, "There is no reason in this heretic, communication is futile." He told sophita before talking to te whole group, "Ready your blasters, this heretic shall fall with the might of our firepower!" The marine stepped in front of the group, using his mass and hulk-like armour to shield the others in case this man had any other tricks up his sleeve.

"Daemon, this is not your realm, so I will be pleased to rid this world of one more filthy khorne worshipper!" He mocked the man at the desk as he stood ground with his gun raised.

"There is no reason in this heretic, communication is futile. Ready your blasters, this heretic shall fall with the might of our firepower! Daemon, this is not your realm, so I will be pleased to rid this world of one more filthy khorne worshipper!"

"That is one method of 'Neutralizing" the threat, but I think a concussion will suffice for now, Vonyish." Emile was all for ending the man quickly as the space marine suggested, but they needed information, and regrettably, this man was their best source as of now. It might be possible to find the security system and hack it, but that would require more time then they might have.

Emile brushed a girl with a sword back behind him. He made sure both she and the man with the mechanical arm were shielded by the two giants in armor. It wasn't characteristic of the Spartan to protect civilians, but the man seemed to be packing some interesting and potentially useful prosthetic, and he made sure to protect the girl in honor of Jorge. "Stay back. If you don't have intention to kill, don't bother. This could easily be life or death."

The armored Spartan took several steps closer to the bloody man, with his finger on the rifle's trigger. Emile took a few cues from the Military Police he'd encountered before and wove some version of their scripted lines in a single attempt to peacefully detain this psycho,
"Sir. I advise that you put your hands behind your head and lie down. If you do not comply, I will have to forcefully detain you. I will not repeat myself, understand?"

Well, now we have a newcomer with a damn sword, what can go wrong? pretty much every-fucking-thing and then we have another person in an armored suit trying to get the armed suspect into custody without the need of shots fired “Sir. I advise that you put your hands behind your head and lie down. If you do not comply, I will have to forcefully detain you. I will not repeat myself, understand?” and sure, peaceful paths may lead to somewhere but that isn’t always the case now that the rifleman’s got his finger on the trigger, there may not be another way than to emit a shot “C’mon, do what he says and you will not get shot, do a stupid move and your life’s done for.” said the company man to the one with the rifle.

Now buddy, if you don’t follow our commands, there’s no other option than to use lethality... we already have a mass murder here and some of us here don’t want to add another corpse to this” the salary man sighed as he now had to aim at the one that was full of blood but this time going for the back of the head, but Rhys had a better idea. Should the bloodied man not comply with the commands mainly given by the one in the Red suit, the business man shall punch the bloodied one’s face with the mechanical arm or shoot, whichever comes first

Turning, the man sees Emily, a smile slowly appearing on his face before it drops, upon spotting the others, a few of whom were armed with guns, and seemed intent on killing him before he could so much as speak with them "Now that's just cold!" he objects, raising his hands slowly, showing he was unarmed, and seemingly willing to co-operate.

Now they could see his face, another strange feature was immediately visible, a leather eyepatch rested over his left eye, bearing a crude, childlike drawing of an eye. He was wearing a rather dishevelled set of clothes, that at one time might have been some very fashionable streetwear. "If you're going to kill a man, surely you should at least look him in his eyes when you do it, big guy"

"Who the fuck are you talking to?" came a deep, growling voice as a hulking figure ducks under one of the doors to the left of the group, leaving the bathroom. A sharply dressed beast of a man locks his eyes with the group and sighs, raising his empty hand and holding his other firm on the cane he held in the other "Nice. Now we're being held at gunpoint. I told you we should have brought some real weapons"

Emile's scanner would pick up another blip on his motion tracker, but it was much too late by the time he'd turned to see where it was coming from behind the group, as before Rhys could react, the large, crescent blade of a strange looking scythe had been placed to his neck "You leave my man alone, or I'll bathe you all in this one's lovely crimson~!"

Sighing, the man at the counter shakes his head "Scarlet, that's not a good idea...These people just misunderstand the situation, no-one has to get hurt" he turns his head to the group, placing both his hands behind his head and closing his eye as he takes a breath "My name is Noir. My friends and I appear to be terribly lost"

The woman, who was donning a very gothic dress hadn't moved her blade at all, her eyes glaring daggers at the men who'd dared to aim weapons at the man at the front desk. The man who had entered from the bathroom still looked rather annoyed about this whole thing, and would very clearly rather be anywhere else.

Who on earth are these people, and where did they come from?

Emile placed a hand on her shoulder, then spoke to the young Empress.
"We should restrain him first. Neutralize the possible threat then ask questions. He does have a weapon, and he doesn't seem stable."
"If you are afraid he'll penetrate your armor with that cleaver, go ahead," she told the soldier, knowing he'll probably do what he wanted to anyways. On another note, the "Athenian", wherever that was, stood by Emily's other side and asked her own question. It was nice to have some allies by her side during conflict for a change, though their method of operating might contradict each other at some point. That point, it came obvious, would come sooner than Emily thought. The other, very large soldier stood in front of the group yelling about heretics. This man reminds her of the Abbey, kill first ask questions later type of religious order.

Before she could attempt to stop his hostility, Emile did so first. Sorta. She's sure he does want to kill the man and get it over with, though he restrains himself. Instead, the heavily armored man attempts to detain the man at the next, something Emily doesn't completely disagree with. Still, she wishes they'd take a more docile route. Or as the bloodied man put it a less cold route. Rhys aims his weapon at the man as well, telling him to comply with Emile's orders. The blood-cuffed man turned around to the group, fulling showing his demeanor and frown.
"Who the fuck are you talking to?" came a deep, growling voice as a hulking figure ducks under one of the doors to the left of the group, leaving the bathroom. Oh, great, someone else. But that's not all, it seems. A gothic woman with a scythe put her weapon around Rhys's neck, telling them to stand down or else he gets it. The man at the front desk identified her as Scarlet, and himself as Noir. The young Empress would have silently admired his aversion to violence, though that doesn't explain the blood on him and his cleaver, or the loss of an eye. Nor the hulking man's mention of bringing "real weapons". Though, his words imply he never expected to be held at gunpoint or shot at, so perhaps their intentions weren't hostile. The day is still middle-aged, though, so it's best to wait until making conclusions.
My friends and I appear to be terribly lost"
"Preaching to the choir," she quipped, moving in front of the two soldiers to get a good look at Noir. "As much as I'd like to believe you, you don't look lost. You planned coming here before hand, and apparently have access to better weapons. I'm willing to bet the staff disappeared right about when you got here, too," Emily's tone was stern, though she tried to make it seem friendly as well. Angering these people any more was not a good idea, and would likely get someone killed. Probably Rhys. "Either you're lying, or you need a better explanation than 'lost'." Her previous hopes of the others staying calm were shattered, so right now it's less of hope but a desperation that they don't attack. It would be nice to have Sophitia's back up again, though it's not as if it would change the other three's mind about violence.

You leave my man alone, or I'll bathe you all in this one's lovely crimson~!” that was the first thing he heard before he could react to what was going on as what appeared that some kind of scythe has been placed to his neck.... oh man this is where the fun begins and then he heard from another person that the group “just misunderstand” the ongoing situation, but something didn’t remain quite clear “Just how are we “misunderstanding” this situation?” the business man asked the one who had said about the misundersanding, yet while he had a scythe on his neck, now it was the matter of him making one wrong move and another corpse shall we add to this creepy situation. Then he saw the bloodified person who had what once looked like good streetwear was seeming to co-operate. “My name is Noir. My friends and I appear to be terribly lost” that’s what the salary man next heard from “Noir” and decided to slowly lower his gun from the man he was mainly aiming at, then he decided to ask the following “So if you claim you’re terribly lost.... How come you ended up in here?” and yet enough Rhys still had so many doubts going over his head.

The third hostile blip on Emile's motion sensor caused him in immediately turn around and bring his rifle up to find a woman dressed in a black dress and holding a scythe. The Spartan seriously doubted the usefulness of a farming tool in actual combat, so either this woman was crazy, or she was packing some sort of hidden trick. Emile met the woman's piercing gaze with his own, despite the helmet separating their eyes.

"Scarlet, that's not a good idea...These people just misunderstand the situation, no-one has to get hurt. My name is Noir. My friends and I appear to be terribly lost"

Now comes the decision. Do they lower their weapons in an attempt to to negotiate or do they open fire on all of them? The former would leave all of them open to a sneak attack, but the latter would likely end in the death of a potentially valuable civilian. In addition, they would not be able to receive any information. They had two of their group ready to surrender, and one ready to attack. Emile chose the less violent path. It would be the most efficient option after all.

Emile heard all the others ask their questions, so he didn't bother to sound like a parrot. He lowered his gun, of course, but instead of ask the ever popular questions addressing the quality of being lost, Emile was a bit more practical.
"Alright, we'll lower our weapons. But tell your friend to put away that oversized sickle and tell us what the hell happened to the hotel staff."

The situation started to get heated, a second more big beast like creature that could speak come from the shadows or where ever it was lurking and than just as he spoke a third, women thing come out and with her scythe around the annoying, self-righteous civilians neck. The marine didn't like this, his gun had two bullets, he couldn't get the two closest to each other and maybe have enough time to reload and fire into the women, Rhys would be collateral damage. It would take to long to reload the gun so he opted out of it.

"I'm sure the dead staff was a coincidence. Daemon." The marine remarked, walking closer while he slowly lowered his weapon. He didn't want to say anything else as the rest of the group have already asked or said the important things so he just kept a look out for anything else or someone else that decided to join the fray.

  • Sophitia was irritated to see the metal-wearing man, alongside his louder-mouthed friend, both shove past her and resorted to an aggressive and violence-centered approach- not to mention the barely-armored male taking a similar stance. She was very patient, but knew there was a real risk that patience wouldn’t help here. She tried to push past them, but to no avail.

“Why do you have to resort to fighting so quickly?” The Greek inquired aloud with a frown on her face. Unfortunately, she was too late to stop their visible message to the newcomer, and within the blink of an eye everything happened so quickly.

One of the man’s buddies had immediately surrendered at the sight, yes, but his female companion had just drawn her blade on the third man, threatening to shed blood if the group acted recklessly. Sophie didn’t like that at all. She opened her lips to speak, but thankfully everyone seemed willing to speak now that there was the risk of one of their own being killed. That was a good thing. She pushed past the hulking men without fear of the bloodied man (despite her inner gut telling her the guy was up to no good), rejoining Emily in facing the Noir person.

“I may not be as happy to kill people like the others, but my friend here does bring up a good point. What are you doing here, and what do you want?” She tried to ask again, changing her questions from the original ones she wanted to ask before being rudely interrupted.

Sighing in relief, Noir waves Scarlet down, and she skips over to him happily, planting a kiss on his cheek as she giggles, twirling the oddly sophisticated looking weapon in her hands. It was clearly not your average farming tool. This one had sections clearly made of carbon fibre and polished steel, and its blade bore the unmistakable pattern of Damascus steel.

The hulking man grunts and lowers his hand, placing it atop his other on his cane, chuckling quietly, a row of square, ivory teeth becoming visible just long enough for the group to know that there was something seriously wrong with each of these people.

Noir clears his throat and steps forward, lowering his hands to bow before the other group "As I said earlier, I am Noir. The lovely lady here is Scarlet, and the man of few words over there is Lachlan. We're collectively known as the crazies...And we're here to take you on a wondrous journey!" as he stands back up, he lifts his eyepatch, revealing a milky grey eyeball, a small trail of blood leaking from his tear duct as he chuckles quietly.

As if on cue, the other two bow like their leader, Scarlet drawing his scythe along her index finger and smiling happily as she gazes at the blood coming from her fresh wound. Lachlan cracks his neck and smiles widely.

As the group stood, no doubt confused, and cautious of those strange actions, Noir's eye, Scarlet's blood, and Lachlan's teeth began to glow with a soft light. The room began spinning and the group would find themselves in a strange, dark room. A single sheet of paper sat before them on a desk, a pencil beside it.

"Sign your name on the dotted line, one person per line, please"

The marine lowered his weapon completely now, realising there was no point in fighting at all as it would be a one sided fight, despite them having the numbers it just wouldn't work out. As vonyish was thinking of a way out he 'zoned out' not paying attention to what they were saying until the area around them started to terraform into a dark and gooomy room with no visible means of escape.

"Daemon! Psyker! Dammit..." as Vonyish realised what scenario they have gotten themselves in it was already to late to back out or even escape, his only means of survival was to comply, he could fight but he would most likely die, a marine isn't useful to the emperor dead. He listened to them explain they had to write their name next to one of the acronyms on this sheet of paper, he read down them and one caught his eye, 'T W'. This could stand for anything, The Warp, The Webway, but there was only one way to find out.

He wrote the letters CDW next to it, way to the meant was unknown but it was his signature. After he wrote it he placed down the pen and walked back, awaiting for what was to happen next.

As the pen left the paper, Vonyish would vanish from the room, appearing in a heavily wooded area. Large footprints littered the ground, crushed skeletons occupying some of them. As he looks around to get his bearings, something wet drips onto him from above. He would inevitably see the corpses of maybe two dozen people impaled on the branches of the trees, some easily 20 feet in the air.

They were in various states of decay, some looking decades old, as they were bleached ribcages the rest of their bodies long since having fallen away with time. Others were seemingly fresh, the flesh on the bodies not even beginning to decay yet.

Large thumps could be heard in the distance, and the faint light of the moon shone through the canopy above. It seemed Vonyish had found himself in The Woods

And he's not alone

And just like that in a matter of seconds he vanished and reappeared in a new foreign area, it looked like a forest, not something the Warp or Webway would consistent, but it could be The Woods. None of that mattered now as he scanned the area he noticed that it was littered with dead bodies, some looked new some looked old.

He heard and felt large thumps, swinging his body into the direction they were coming from and slowly walking towards them, his gun fully raised and using the moonlight as his only guide he walked forward, fearlessly.

As Vonyish moved towards the sound it stopped, and a soft breeze came from behind him. The putrid stench of what must have been decades worth of corpses danced on the wind as bones rattled among the trees.

Then the thuds resumed, moving closer now. It seemed they were in the same mindset about how to deal with this situation.

Vonyish would notice many of the trees were stripped of their branches in this area, widening the gap significantly between them. Given the size of the footprints, it wasn't hard to reach the conclusion this was caused by the great beast moving through the woods

The marine didn't mind the stench, but what did catch his interest is the fact that barely any of the trees had any branches, it wasn interesting but Vonyish quickly notched it down to the fact that whatever was coming for him proberbly knocked them over as it walked through, evident by the size of the footprints it was a big beast.

But what could it be? A bloodletter? A daemon primarch or prince? Couldn't be, daemons hate this environment but Orks on the other hand. He was ready for anything at this point, determined to find out what it was, hopefully the death of this creature would let him return to the hotel, or at least he hoped.

Walking forward, Vonyish would be made aware of the sound of running behind him as Scarlet dashes past him, swinging her scythe around gleefully as a faintly glowing blue child flees from her, a huge pair of shears in his hand as he screams silently into the night. She stops and looks over her shoulder, winking at the marine and giggling once more "Hunting the big game, are you? I think you should spend more time looking for the key to your freedom~ That big guy doesn't even bleed, there's no fun in trying to kill him."

She leaps into the air, swinging from the stump of a broken branch with her scythe and she vanishes as quickly as she appeared.
Did these lunatics live in this strange place? Was this their hunting ground or something?

The footsteps seemed to be growing much louder, and the sound of breaking trees could be heard ahead, it couldn't have been more than a few hundred feet away now. Vonyish would have to decide if he was going to focus on taking down the beast or hunting for whatever key Scarlet had mentioned

Crazies seems about right for those three. They introduced themselves and then performed some kind of crazy ritual using teeth, blood, and an eye. Safe to call that one of the most insane things Emile has ever seen. The Spartan was shocked, to say the least, as the entire group was transported to a dark room. Immediately, Emile brought his rifle up and began to survey the room. It was just big enough to contain everyone with some space to spare, and in the very middle, a desk with a sheet of paper and a pencil.

"Sign your name on the dotted line, one person per line, please"

Vonyish was the first to comply, writing his name out. Just as suddenly as the room had appeared, Vonyish disappeared, dropping the pencil back onto the desk, waiting for the next victim. Emile was heavily alarmed. He pointed the rifle at Noir and shouted, "What the hell did you do to Vonyish?! You better bring him back before I make you regret it."

Things looked like they were lightening up as people asked questions while lowering their weapons. The latter definitely made Emily feel better about the situation. I'm sure they all did so disgruntled, but whatever works, works. Unfortunately, that good feeling went away quite fast, as they always do, it seems to be a pattern. Scarlet got all bubbly and skipped over to Noir, where she popped a kiss on his cheek. The giant lowered his hand and chuckled, showing off his ivory teeth. He then followed in suit to the goth woman, stopping at Noir's side. All together they looked like they should definitely be in prison, or an insane asylum. Either works. Emily recoiled from the three, knowing something was definitely about to happen.

The Crazies? That doesn't sound good. Lachlan and Scarlet also bowed, before doing their own just as creepy version of what Noir did. Kaldwin pulled out her White Streak, but before she could even aim it the room started spinning. Within a second, they were all transported to a dark room, with a piece of paper on a table. Realizing the threat is currently gone, she puts away her pistol. Though, where that threat exactly did go, or rather where they went, escaped her. The young Empress would feel good about getting away from them, but she still worried about Charon and the staff. What did they do to them? What will "The Crazies" do to the city?

The piece of paper on the table seemed to be the only thing interesting about the room, so Emily went to check it out. Before she did, though, Vonyish got to it first. After he wrote something, he vanished! She hurried to the paper, and read it's contents.

So the soldier must have signed his name, and that sent him somewhere. He wrote his name on the line with "T W", so she must choose another. What they meant is likely impossible for her to know right now, so it's not as if she can make an educated choice. Emily picks up the pencil and signs her signature on the "T U T" line before bracing herself for another teleportation.
