this ones very old for me so, i've seen in done a lot of things in the multiverse...
you and your friends out in the wood in a cabin on a retreat, when one day you guys/gals wake up there's a weird cracking in the sky, and it just sits there kind plastered to the sky like a sticker, and one day it opens and creates a hole in the center, it shots out this weird ship and it crashes somewhere in the woods and the cracking thing closes back up but doesn't disappear, you all go and check it out and that's where we pick up.
any type of character powers weapons, just dont make them to op please
