Fandom Mass Effect: Tales from the Citadel [Reboot]

Yello!

I would be interested in this. I've never done a Mass Effect RP, but I'm a huge fan of the games and more so the universe. Having a slice of life story is a very interesting idea to me but I do have some concerns. First I would like to know how you intend to run the RP. Do you have an over arching story planned that ties the characters together or is everyone having a separate story? Do you want the other writers to help build out the plot(s) or side plots, or are you planning on managing everything?

Finally, looking over the other characters that are currently planning on being in the game; none are very "normal citizens" of the Citadel. You have an alien (to the ME universe) bounty hunter cyborg that can turn invisible. A Quarian "Outrider" which if I'm understanding correctly is the Quarians' version of the Spectres, and a straight up Spectre. None of these characters really work for a slice of life story. I understand the GM playing a Spectre to move the plot forward but they should probably just be considered an NPC. I don't see how you can run a slice of life story with these characters; just about all of them would probably be more comfortable in a shootout on Tuchanka than getting groceries on the Citadel.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding your intentions for this, but when I think of slice of life characters I think of somewhat normal people or unusual people on their down time. C-Sec police, a store owner, a chef, nurse, doctor, reporter, small time criminal, low level politician, a soldier or pilot who is on leave and visting a partner or spouse that is on the Citadel. Not saying the bad*ss characters can't work; but its a little strange to have them in a slice of life. Is the plot going to be mostly action and shootouts? That's the impression I'm getting from theses characters.

I was planning on making an Asari Maiden that was a low level Mediator employed by the Asari government (and sometimes C-Sec) that specialized in Human and Korgan issues. Even for that character I was worried about making her too "not normal" since you can pack a lot of knowledge and experience into even a young Asari.

Anyway, sorry if I'm coming off overly critical. Just want to make sure I know what I'm getting myself into.

Thank you for being interested enough to ask these questions. Perhaps I unintentionally
misrepresented my intentions. The cyborg is a character that I'm not sure fits and have yet to accept any characters. I do intend for this to be away from the grand spectacle that is Shepherd's quest across the galaxy. My character is intended to be played as a fish out of water. I do have a character arc loosely planned for him.

As for how I intend to run things, I have a list of plots to keep people interested as not every character fits into every plot. I'm also open to writers offering up their own plots for people to take part in. I have an incomplete list of NPCs for characters to interact with. I am hoping for a lot more street level characters.

If you have any more questions please feel free to ask.

Ok. Hopefully, more people will join. But, I'm game to start making a character if that's fine with you. I have two in mind. The first one I already described; an Asari Maiden who is a mediator. Or a young human girl that is a runaway or minor criminal and living in the Citadel slums. Would you prefer one over the other to fit better into the plot you had in mind?

Sounds good. I'll pick the Asari and send you a PM with her CS for your approval when I finish writing it up.

I'm sure more people are needed for this; so the more the merrier.
