In that case, would you be opposed to someone playing a side role, namely a villain such as the Punisher? Though heinous in his own right, he could be hunting other lower-level villains and an interesting person for this fledgling team to encounter early on. He could be a "friend"—someone who won't try to kill the team, may present an interesting dynamic with valid ethical questions, and has mutual enemies.

Not rn no. The characters have to be part of the team as that is the focus, but one of them could definitetly be some sort of reformed villain

And no canon characters will be roleplayed

My concept was technically a reformed Villain, but could also fall under the Outsider Trope. Though team encountering guys like Frank does sound fun.
