Marcus frowned, trying to process everything that was just said. This strange man named "The Doctor" ran up to shake his hand and told him everything he knew and loved was about to die unless he helped this strange group of random people and the host was broken into some sort of shards.

"... Yeah, you can count me in."

It just seemed like the half terminator found himself even more confused as he ran up the stairs, following the doctor and everyone else into the room.

Marcus stood up in the middle of the room and raised an eyebrow at the Grandmother's appearance who was a spirit.

This is probably the first time Marcus had ever hear a ghost speak out loud.

He felt more like standing than anything right now.

"Alright, lay it on me, Grandmother."

As the room they would meet in was confirmed, Saki followed everyone else up the stairs and into the parlor. Just as they went up the stairs, however, someone else stumbled into the mansion, a man who looked like he had seen a lot. He apologised for entering so suddenly, and a nearby orb filled him in on what he had missed. Saki entered into the parlor, which was already set up for their meeting.

Saki picked a seat, and left another chair open, morning for Ranka to come and sit beside her. Looking around the table at all the different people, Saki took a breath and tried to remind herself that all of this was actually happening. Although being a zombie meant that she could go without food for long periods of time, Saki still got hungry just like any human. Luckily, it seemed that someone, presumably Sebastian, had laid out some food and refreshments for them all. It had been the suggestion of the man with the accent (The Doctor, or so he called himself). Saki reached over and grabbed some food, staring at the spirit of the Grandmother as it began to explain what had happened. "Right" Saki said as she finished talking for the moment, "So what do we do now?"

Upon arriving in the lounge, the Doctor immediately proceeded to the small crying girl and crouched down, not quite within arm's reach so she didn't feel threatened, but close enough to be present. Resting his hands on his knees, the young man with the ancient eyes looked deeply grave and solemn. He opened his mouth to offer some words of comfort when the Spirit of the Grandmother made her entry, causing both of his eyebrows to shoot straight up in surprise.

Standing, he peered intently at the incorporeal figure of their mysterious hostess. "Spirit?" he mumbled to himself. "No. Could be a telepathic echo, though. Or possibly her species has a dual-matter/energy existence. Been ages since I've met one of those!" As Maddie and the Grandmother hugged, the Doctor's eyebrows raised again. "Blimey, or could there actually be spirits in this cosmology? Different universe, different rules. Who's to say? Worth investigating, surely."

"Right," the Doctor said more clearly, addressing the Grandmother directly and loud enough for the rest to hear. "I think it best you tell us what you can, don't you think? Before we have any more surprises."
