Capital: Stapledon Cluster, a cluster of hollowed-out rotating asteroid habitats in orbit around Mars. The capital is distributed throughout these asteroids, though Grand Banff Habitat houses the leaders and other highest ranking members of government.

Government Type: Technocratic Democracy. A leader is selected from each of the five major factions of the institute: The University/Biotectural Institute, The Pansapient Church, The Extramartian Colonial Organization(E.C.O.), The Department of Commerce and Contact, and the Solar Forces. Together these leaders rule the Solar Institute as a council. What counts as a major faction is determined by their number of representatives in the Greater Council, however the five major factions have not changed since the birth of this system.


Leading Party: Currently the Department of Commerce and Contact has the most influence, followed very closely by the Pansapient Church.

Culture: There are countless cultures and languages in the institute, some artificially created for communities and species, others naturally evolving, but one belief is shared by near all: it is the duty of sapient beings to spread life and the gift of sapience throughout the universe.


History
Earth was lost, and with it a great chapter of history closed. The planet Mars was under terraforming, but with earth gone the citizens of Mars had a new decision to make. If Earth was gone, why tailor Mars to be like Earth? Mars was a unique world, with its own culture and features, and that should be embraced, not wiped away to build a world like the old one. This was the end of the age of Earth, the end of the age of Humanity; this was the age of Sol, the age of all creatures. This sentiment grew into the Pansapient Church, which preached that all beings should be uplifted and given the gift of sapience, that it was our imperative as fellow sapients to spread Life and Mind. The Gods would reward all beings that spread this beauty across the universe. Along with this, the terraforming of Mars was halted, only partially done, but a genetically engineered biosphere was able to thrive on the planet, forests of salt-tolerant pines, cacti that rarely needed water, humans and other sapients that could breath the thin, CO2-heavy atmosphere. Genetic engineering is a core tenant of the Solar Institute, founded in 2420, which grew from these Martian revolutionaries, which builds new creatures and uplifts old ones.


Solar Forces
The Solar Forces are a mess. There’s no other way to say it. Huge portions of it are mercenaries and corporate troops, certain branches like the Exploration Forces are managed by multiple factions at once, there are countless different species to manufacture equipment and suits for, and patriotism has never been a strong suit. Still, it’s not something to be messed with either: the mercenaries are handsomely paid and won’t defect, and while thy may lose individual battles they can decimate entire planetary populations with the deadliest bioweapons in known space.

Like all mars-adapts, she must wear a breathing mask and potentially a cooling suit when not in mars-like environments.

Appearance: Tagisor is one of many people who are genderless in this new age of genetic engineering. This gives them a look which pleases some and makes others uncomfortable, describing them as almost alien. Tagisor is hairless and red-skinned, and like all mars-adapts, they must wear a breathing mask and potentially a cooling suit when not in mars-like environments. They have rounded features all around.

Like all mars-adapts, he must wear a breathing mask and potentially a cooling suit when not in mars-like environments.

Culture:
Due to their origins as soldiers and the subsequent hardships and struggles they faced as a civilization later onwards. The Femian culture has instinctively grown around its roots and difficulties. Forging what is now a very militaristic, honorable and martial based culture. The military, unlike most others is the government and the branches themselves are seen as more of a public service than anything else, providing jobs and financial stability to countless millions and perhaps even hundreds of millions of Femians although the official number is classified for security purposes. As one would expect from a nation such as the Hierarchy, military service is compulsary for all women over the age of 18 for a period of two years however it is not as strict as one would imagine due to the compulsary nature of it, however the volunteer personnel of the military do recieve the much, much stricter end of the rope although for a well-paid salary and great societal respect from their peers and family.

There is a very noticeable cultural and societal divide between Pureblood Femians and Grownblood ones, with Purebloods being those that have descended from naturally-born Human family trees and Grownbloods, by far the overwhelming majority of the population being those descended from artificially grown family trees. Although the Grownbloods are technically naturally born for the most part from their Grownblood parents, they are still seen as less Pure than those who descended from the original settlers of Katrax. This divide often ties into the immense importance surrounding the Femian family in their society, with many Femian families both Pureblood and Grownblood reaching into the hundreds of members, the larger the family, the more respect and influence it has is the common way of thinking for most Femians who would die to protect their family's name, legacy and honor, all three of which being considered of equal importance to the family itself. Upon further inspection into Femian society, it isn't hard for one to notice that a large chunk of the Femian upper-classes and social elite are of Pureblood descent, this is by no means coincidental as Pureblood families often are much larger and more influential than Grownblood ones, who make up most if not all of the Middle and Working classes although are still happy to do so as long as they are serving the Hierarchy and greater cause.

Of course class difference although noticeable in Femian society is a very small issue to Femians who hardly notice due to the average high standard of living and wages, along with the fierce and deeply embedded sense of national identity and identity as one people. In-fact the difference between Pureblood and Grownblood although noticeable in societal terms proves to be very little of a problem at all, as both Purebloods and Grownbloods have no problems with one another, largely due to the fact that for Purebloods looking down on others is seen as a sign of moral decay and an overexaggeration of one's value to the Hierarchy as a whole and for the Grownbloods being jealous of another's successes is seen also as a sign of moral decay and an inability to accept one's place in life, something which is seen by both wealthy and non-wealthy as incredibly important. Although economically this does not tie in as Femians may still choose which career path they wish to take, the government not having a policy of assigning occupations to people other than in times of war or if requested to by that individual under one of their social services programs. Social services being another huge factor of Femian culture, that factor being that the Hierarchy will look after you if you do your bit for the Hierarchy, as such government benefits for former civil services' members are incredibly lucrative as are benefits for the elderly and young.

History:
Formed from a failed coup de tat attempt against the Solar Institute in the 2450s, the Femian Hierarchy is a comparatively newer faction to its older counterparts. However it is by no means any less weaker. Having fled into deeper space using their fleet of sublight ships stolen from the Solar Institute, the collection of primarily female military officers that had started the coup stumbled across a decently sized tropical world which would soon be named Katarax. Landing with their large number of loyal troops and equipment on the planet's surface, the military officers quickly begun the work of building up their own nation, which initially started off as simply the Hierarchy, named after the strict ranking caste that they had employed to their new "citizens" who were for the vast majority still soldiers.

However over the years this began to change as the Hierarchy begun taking advantage of the genetic engineering information and technology they had acquired from their time serving the Solar Institute, putting it to work as they begun developing and colonizing Katarax en-masse, great birthing facilities were constructed around the second great city of Katarax which was to be named Tasa Run. These birthing facilities, when combined with the old information from the Solar Institute and the new information on Human genetic engineering and cloning that the Hierarchy had developed themselves resulted in the rapid population expansion of the Hierarchy. With the faction's new leader, General of the First Army; Saisa Tatradonis secretly ordering the growth of only female humans with a specific set of instructions towards their genetic makeup, with the General's plan being to create a unique and near-perfect if not already that race of all-female humans with increased mental and physical capabilities.

This plan soon becoming a reality although not without a fight as the General's male counterparts had discovered her treason and had ordered her arrest, many of the female troops refusing however as what is now known to the Hierarchy as the Great Internal Struggle soon broke out, a civil war on a scale never before seen as Kartax was devestated, leaving millions dead and many millions more as refugees. However this was soon not to be a problem as with unlimited and complete control over the planet, the victorious new race of women, who were superior to their baseline human counterparts begun the process of rapidly rebuilding the planet and soon the Hierarchy. With a complete lack of men and their own capabilities of reproduction, the Hierarchy was renamed to the Femian Hierachy after the subspecies of human female that now ran it completely, the Femians.

It was now that the era of rapid expansion came for the Femian Hierarchy, developing their own methods of Faster Than Light travel seperate from the rest of Human controlled space, they quickly colonized their entire solar system before spreading out across the Outer Edges of Human controlled space, growing and growing and never seeming to stop as the Femians perfected their genetic code, growing to be a race of women more beautiful than any who had ever lived, and more powerful than most people in-general. Their dominant baseline sexual orientation was over many decades replaced with that of an attraction to only the same-sex, artifically assisted natural evolution one could argue due to their society and population. Alongside their population, their culture and social norms also developed around their origins, due to being a military force at birth, the Femian Hierarchy was almost destined to be what it is today. An incredibly powerful military bastion of strength and almost fanatical devotion to their cause and nation. In the following centuries of their landing on Katrax, the Femian Hierarchy grew quietly in the Outer Regions, never really engaging in relations with other nations and remaining mostly hidden and unknown as they conquered system after system and colonized countless worlds. With a new leader, they may now finally be ready to properly return to the spotlight, though a question lurking on nearly every Femian's mind is how will the spotlight react to them?



Military:
United Armed Forces of the Hierarchy (UAFH)

Description:
A fighting force to be reckoned with although preferrably avoided by most. The Hierarchy's first and last line of defense, the UAFH is a well-funded, well-equipped and well-trained war machine of terror designed to instill as much psychological damage as they do physical damage. At one with the government, the UAFH and the government of the Femian Hierarchy are one in the same with the high-ranking brass of the Armed Forces also consisting of the high-ranking brass of the legislative, judicial and executive branches of government. With each branch of the Armed Forces fighting not just in battlefields but in the Femian Assembly for representation in the form of seats and for the votes of the people. Due to this combination of civilian and military ruling, the UAFH has complete control and unlimited freedom in its actions, only accountable to the constitution for which the Hierarchy stands and its people.

However unsurprisingly the vast majority of information surrounding the Armed Forces is beyond classified, accessable only to those who need it, it is again unsurprising that the Hierarchy would shroud itself in secrecy. Although it is to be speculated that all branches of the UAFH are incredibly fierce and just as fanatic in their devotion to their cause and people as one another with the military being a way of life for many, many Femians and being so deeply ingrained in their culture it is to be expected that it would be as presumably powerful as it is. Maintaining an incredibly strict regime for its personnel and training them to their utmost best, the UAFH is the military, scientific and explorational arm of the Hierarchy and to a larger extent is the Hierarchy itself. As such they are a more than modernized and capable fighting force of unknown strength, size and composition.

Culture:
For the citizens of the Purview, honour is to be considered a way of life. It is the driving force that powers the people. To sacrifice honour is to ridicule the very principles of the Purview. To defend it is to carry out a grand duty in the name of the Purview and its people. It is held to such a degree that some would consider it beyond reasonable. But to the Purview, honour is an everlasting glory that is valued too little amongst xenomorphs and the likes of which who do not understand its worth. To die an honourable man is to have lived a grand and fruitful life.

Second to an honourable life comes the pursuit of knowledge and understanding of the universe itself. Knowledge is a gift shunned by many, and those who wield it properly truly hold the greatest power in the cosmos.

History:
The predecessors of the Purview stemmed from human nomads who fled the Solar System, seeking out refuge amongst the stars in the absence of the vast galactic neighbourhood. Decades of travel in deep space revealed a planet capable of accommodating their dying vessels and providing them with the necessities to survive and prosper. However, not everyone had favoured the thought of sharing out these resources. Small nations of people split from the main landing force, proclaiming their right to absorb the resources of their new home. They were plunged into a never ending state of war with themselves, divided by separate nations seeking dominance over one another. An entire world was plunged into total anarchy.

Decades long after what is now known as the Great Collapse, a grand military commander of a forgotten nation lead a coup against his own country. His success was imminent, for he possessed the loyalty of every soldier set up against him. With his victory, he set about conquering nation after nation, placing each and everyone under a single banner. His unique ability to lead inspired the meritocratic state of governing that maintains power to this very day.

With every scrap of territory absorbed, the more unstoppable this righteous force had become. Within years, a world filled with bickering ideologists and warmongering generals was now unified under a single flag. The very same flag that is flown today. On that day, the First Purview was forged, and soon it strived to earn its very own place in the night sky, perhaps even beyond. A question that still remains to this day what will other life in the galaxy take to the Purview and its people.

Generally regarded as cost effective only in large numbers there are smaller wormhole gates as well for merchantie ships. These gate generators are too large for ships and need a dedicated station aptly named gates. These gates can also generate wormholes from afar providing FTL without having to construct a gate at said star system.

Snap-Space drives: Short ranged but fast FTL only combat vessels use this to get in close to their targets. these drives are build into the ship and are poor for using to travel across systems but fine for planetary travel.

The Order of the Crow Believes all life should follow a natural linearity, to grow from experience. The Crow is the beginning and the end for all life it is intelligent and mysterious with unknown quantities, this symbolizes some of lifes unpredictability and to pray to the crow is to find clarity in trying and unknown times. Soldiers Pray to the crow to get an edge on their opponents to be invisible and strike from an hidden position, where as peasants pray to the crow for a clear mind and for strength to go on the next day. Genetic augmentation and manipulation is considered a sin and all sinners must be punished through fire and fury, Cybernetic augmentations are considered to be a natural progression in life after all how can one go on with a missing arm? This generally means many of the elite are old and cybernetically enhanced in some way. Robots and androids are not frowned upon but specifies not of natural decent are considered sinful.

Honor bound and working for the greater good people of the Tempus concordat live to serve and to live is to serve. They are hard headed and hard minded, used to death and serving the elite. Enjoying a realitively good day to day life they do as they are told without much opposition to what they are actually doing. They are the ignorant masses that make up most of the concordat's population and are worked tirelessly for the aristocrats only to live on another day to do it all over again. it is not a depressing life style but is simply one without change, a status quo. The only way to break from this is to do it themsleves, gather enough money and move somewhere else and work there, or become a man at arms.

The elite are the aristocrates and knights templar. The knights make up most of Tempestus's standing armies, these well trained soldiers are trained from childhood to become the elites trained in both melee and ranged combat. They are selected from the peasant population or the aristocrats volunteer their children to be worked to the core in military doctrine. There are various specialties in the knights ranks as well as different command structures and branches. When not at war the knights generally act as mercenaries and peacekeepers however all answer the call to war.

Above them are the Artistocrates who govern and rule the Tempus Concordat, they own all of the large corporations and make up 90% of the economy providing resources and service. These families are old and normally well respected, they have their own little squabbles sometimes enacting on tiny civil wars, they arm their peasants and send them to die sometimes. These conflicts are generally minor and of annoyance. Above all else is the royal family who have rulled over the concordat for centuries; the responsiblies of such scale have, the children under go heavy and almost non-stop training and lectures of war, governance, and politics. they are the most powerful and have the final say in all things, the first born sons are usually the first in line of the ruler's position however this is often contested with other family members vying for control.


History:
in earths Tenth century the Concordats first fledgling roots were planted as an artifact of ancient origins and power was found below a little known city state named Aeternum. it was activated by curious scholars and soon the city state found itself in an unknown land colder than what it had used to be. At first the people were simply confused the massive crow population flew into the skies and to explore their new surroundings. soon enough (in a ecological time scale) crows were everywhere and the people were living off the land like they had before.

Over many years the city grew and grew and advanced in a different way than modern earth chivarous knights fought eachother for entertainment and for once the fear of being attacked by outsiders was vanished although that ended with new city states started to pop up from colonists. over many years the people on tempus alterium advanced in their own way going to the skies with crow like planes then into space using technologies found on the planet.

The Concordat didnt expand too far however when the reichenau rulers feared their rule would be at an end with these distances. and settled for a stagnation on growth. so over a few planets they simply developed and lived, Until Irisviellya came into power. a period of mass expansion followed as well as military developments and under her the concordat grew ever so more below the attention of its larger neighbors.

More like over glorified planetary militia, they are the nameless masses who defend their planets; Poorly armed by modern standards their primary usage is to defend planets although few join the navy to become crew and marines fighting on foreign worlds. Their Morale is generally high as they fight on their home-worlds. They do not have a official uniform or weapons so their equipment varies from soldier to soldier. Some may be armored and others may simply wear a trench-coat; others may only carry a pistol while another mains a heavy machine gun.

But for standardization sake, every men at arms is usually not well equipped for extended operations outside friendly space, the simply wear uniform given to them and a rifle of some kind, an assault rifle if hes lucky but most use bolt action or semi auto. They have little to no armor so often find the nearest piece of cover they can get to. Due to this fact Paladins use them to defend or hold a position as their mass volley fire is very effective against anything that isnt a tank. For anti-armor purposes they carry anti-armor grenades. They are useless against an armored opponent up front but with enough of these can topple any armored opponent if given the chance to hit the weak-spot.

The Men At Arms Mechanized Divisions are different from the men at arms in that they also serve in the navy as marines in their large walking vehicles. These automation's vary massively from car sized transports to large land battleships. They are heavily armored with heavy weapons but they are almost always slow and hard to maneuver. They generally carry cannons and heavy machine guns making them valuable to any men at arms on the ground, they also uilitze flak cannons and SAM's making them extremely valuble anti-air platforms. Most of these vehicles serve day to day life of the average peasant carrying heavy equipment while the more advanced vehicles are used by the aristocrats.

Knights in Training they carry modern rifles and use much more modern vehicles than the men at arms. The first to use Plasma swords and lances they are lightly armored but well shielded in their power armor. Adepts are accurate with their fire and serve well as advanced scouts doing force recon. They are the most versatile in what they can do and are the first steps to become a full fledged knight. Some well renowned knights prefer to use their equipment due to their versatility and maneuverability.

The Standard for the Adepts are an HZ-14 which is an accurate and light weight assault rifle. Although smaller caliber than the HZ-44 which the knights utilize it is not something to be trifled with. Accompanying the Adepts in their arsenal is the MVS-5 Plasma sword, it is able to easily cut through most things that aren't specifically armored or heat resistant. Another melee plasma based weapon is the MVL-2 Lance which is simply a stick with plasma projectors protruding from both ends.

The Knights are a hallmark of the Order, heavily armored and well shielded they serve as break through infantry, each knight wields some sort of plasma based melee weapon as well as a physical shield which doubles as a secondary shield generating a type of second shield ontop their personal ones. When all shields fail however the knights can relatively safely rely on their thick armor and armored shield. They may lower their shields for two handed weapons although this is discouraged when shields are down. They are trained in firing one handed weapons and specialize in firing assault rifles with one hand. During peacetime they often work outside of concordat space working as mercenaries, spies and bodyguards. In concordat space they work as peacekeepers

Their standard weapon of choice is the HZ-44 assault rifle Which is heavier than the HZ-14 but that is negated by the beefier power armor they carry. It is accurate both one handed and two handed operations which lets the user utilize his or her shield on the other hand (or a plasma sword.) The Shield which all knights are trained to use is a large slab of Reinforced metals able to easily block bullets and plasma rounds. They are collapsible allowing the user to use two handed weaponry like the GAU-28 "light" machine gun (shown in third picture) or sniper rifles.

The Order of the Templar focuses on smaller scale conflicts or smaller scale squad movements. they are the elite knights who utilize much more specialized equipment they generally are better protected than other knights and how they are usually older knights they are a great deal more experience and knowledgeable about the inner workings of politics tactics and other various things. Sometimes they may act as commander for a division of knights if said knights did not have a commander or are confused. Naturally due to the specialized nature of the templar there are few squads that use the same weaponry. They normally use upgraded versions of weapons listed and further more that weren't listed.

The order of the Paladins are a great one, only the best of knights/templar are allowed to join they make themselves names and written down in history. They are the generals and admirals of the Concordat, the only ones with power over then is the queen or king themselves by this time they would have become old with many cybernetic enhancements.

The Royal Navy
The navy utilizes ships with many capital weapons on board they are meant to intimidate and meet the enemy head first. They use rail guns and Gauss cannons as their primary weapons with few wield plasma based weapons. the crew are generally trained men at arms who work tirelessly to maintain the ships, an on board AI targets and fires the weapons as well as redirect fighters, the ship commander commands his crew and gives the ai directions with the ai giving them advice. Their fighters resemble other empires and function just about the same way which can be said about the rest of the royal navy.

The Tempestus Navis
The knights navy's they generally use smaller ships, their ships lack capital ship weaponry instead they use ramming and boarding tactics with even the largest of ships being fast and maneuverable. The front of the ships is narrow with plasma blades to cut through enemy ships or to dig deep within. Their fighters are very durable with a single plasma repeater and a few missiles on board although their main weaponry is the fighter itself. Their doctrine is to get in close and board enemy ships using the knights to destroy the ship from the inside or capture valueable targets or even the ship itself. Being specialized for this sole purpose of fighting Tempestus ships are built around this fact and have an almost 80% success rate of penetrating into and through enemy ship armor with their plasma blades making them deadly in close range.

Culture:

The people under the rule of the Great House Skyre are referred to as an Aparatore (ah-pear-ah-tor-eh), plural Aparatorai. This distinguishes them from the Curatorai, or the noble bloodlines. The language of the people is known as High Speak, which is a modernized form of Latin with many English recombinations. Early in the Great House's history, they became politically entangled with Catholic and Orthodox clergy who had barely maintained their faiths over the course of the centuries of exile from Earth. According to Ecclesia records, the Schism was ecumenically mended in 2312 and the Skyre family were seen as great patrons of this ecclesiastical victory. For this reason, George Skyre, the fabled first of the Skyre Dynasty, is venerated as a saint.

Most of Aparatorai and Curatorai culture revolves around the preservation of Earth literature, law, custom, and history. Great libraries fill the streets of Canticle, and the most avid explorers of Earth are House Skyre librarians searching for books and digital databases regarding their long-destroyed homeworld. To members of other groups, Aparatorai are considered laughably nostalgic, monkish, and naïve. Aparatorai greatly value family ties and often greet one another as "cousin" or "kinsman".

Predictably, the Ecclesia Unitum (United Church) holds great authority over Skyre administrated lands. The Church is allowed to enact all civil legislation save the levying of taxes, conscription, warmaking, guild management, and setting trade duties. Thus all marriages must be notorized by the Church, all births catalogued in Church hospitals and records, and almost all local ordinances set by clergy. This often leads to areas under Skyre administration outlawing narcotic substances and mandating church attendance. Under the Second Canticlean Council, spreading heresy or openly blaspheming was criminalized and made punishable by a fine of no more than 50 platinum craythor. Trade guilds are often suspect by the Church, and guild charters have, on occasion, been revoked by the Curatorai for blasphemous practices in Guild Halls.

On the frontier, life tends to be harsher and the settlers more fervent in their religious convictions. Oftentimes, mining operations are run out of Fortified Monasteries or Trade Missions.

History:

The early history of the Great House Skyre is shrouded in mystery and legend. What is known is this, that settlers came to the planet Philemon in the 25th Century, although the Great House had to have predated this event by several centuries as there were at least eight High Curators before Thomas Skyre who founded Canticle in 2450. In the early years, the Great House Skyre expanded its dominion across all of the Pharmonic System, establishing a lucrative trade in metals and rare gases. In 2512, civil war broke out as a result of rogue artificial intelligences that caused the Great House to permanently outlaw thinking machines. This is usually marked as the beginning point for Skyre's ascendancy by historians who chronicle such things. Between 2516 and 2534 the territories under the House Skyre's control boasted the highest effective human birthrate in Civilized Space, contributing to a population boom that saw it become one of the largest human nations in seventy years. In this time, peace reigned and the House Skyre consolidated its hold on the metal and noble gas trade on the frontier worlds of human colonized space, and then became the largest singe supplier of raw materials in 2612, an economic hegemony that was unmatched until 2678.

In the modern day, the Great House Skyre is an economic powerhouse and a large merchant republic that boasts a substantial fleet, but generally is not considered a military power. The colonies of their far-reaching trade empire extend to Sol and to the furthest reaches of civilized space.



Military:

Militarium Skyre

Description:

Being primarily a mercantile empire, the House Skyre focuses primarily on fast, light spacecraft that are suitable for quick deployment and escort duties. Their ground forces are typically defensive in nature and are not augmented by robots or combat drones as in other standing armies.

The Militarium Solaris is organized into Homeguard and Strikefleets. Homeguard Fleets are more defensive, consisting of a larger proportion of capital ships. Strikefleets usually contain more fighter carriers, gunships, and corvettes for a more rapid and versatile mix of units. Aparatorai are often said to be lacking in creativity, which is usually true in the case of Militarium Solaris warships, as they are usually boxy, gunmetal grey with red and black House Skyre livery. The classes of ship are as follows:

Fighter, Fighter-Bombers, and Bombers: Attack vehicles designed for space and atmospheric combat against enemy fighters, ships, and ground units respectively.
Gunships: Lightly armored vessels used for scouting, picketing enemy battle lines, and escorting freighters.
Corvettes: Similar to gunships, but slower with heavier armor.
Cogs: More heavily-armored but lightly armed ships designed for boarding actions or deployment of ground troops.
Destroyer: A medium-build, medium-firepower ship that makes up the bulk of the Homeguard fleets.
Signal Cruiser: A ship specialized for detecting cloaked enemies and spotting enemy fleets in transit. Has very little combat capabilities.
Cruiser: A heavily-armored small capital ship, often comes with long-range missile batteries. In which case it is considered a Missile Cruiser.
Battleship: The largest capital ship in the Skyre fleet, heavily armed and armored.

The Militarium Terra is dominated by lightly-armored infantry with some light support vehicles and tanks. The Ecclesia Militaris is the military arm of the Church. Composed mostly of veterans or religious zealots who see fit to give themselves over in military service to the church. The Ecclesia Militaris is subdivided into the Ecclesia Solaris which maintains a small fleet of warships and the various Chapters of the Ecclesia Fraternis, the infantry and motorized divisions under church control. Among them are the Guardia Switz and the Ordus Templaris. The uniforms, equipment, and training of the various chapters varies greatly.

Mentats, while not a wholly combat group, are important in all branches of the Militarium and serve as high commanders and coordinators. They also serve in civilian capacities as high economists and advisors to the Curatorai. Mentats are humans whose mental powers have been "expanded" by the use of special narcotics. The process was invented by House Skyre scientists looking to replace artificial intelligence after the Machine War, thus Mentats are like human supercomputers. With esoteric thought processes and unfathomable mental power, it is theorized that Mentats, while lacking the raw processing power of modern supercomputers, have developed an intuitive sixth sense.

Culture:
Tribes Of Yirath, being a stone age world, have a very primitive culture. The tribes follow strength and as such the strongest or in some cases the most cunning rule a tribe. Now this can cause friction between tribes and even wars or battles. There are actually several rituals used to determine two tribes standing, they go like this.

"We Seek No Bloodshed"- One chieftain will plunge his spear into the ground, the tip at his enemy's feet and the end pointing back at himself, the enemy who wants to avoid bloodshed will do the same thing, causing the spears to cross.

"War It Is"- One chieftain will plunge his spear into the ground, the tip at his enemy's feet and the end pointing back at himself. The enemy who wishes to fight will take the spear out of the ground and break it and throw the pieces back at the chieftain.

"Personal Duel"- One chieftain will plunge his spear into the ground, the tip at his enemy's feet and the end pointing back at himself, this time the enemy will take the spear out of the ground and hand it back to the chieftain, showing he wants a one on one fight

"We Bring Gifts"- This one is different, basically the tribe baring gifts will set it down in front of the chieftain and place their weapons by each side of the offering, as a sign of peaceful intent

Of course given that they are a warrior and hunter culture most Za'lashi carry a weapon, but normally in the form of a stone knife or solid wooden club, but a common is nothing in combat when compared to a warrior or hunter.
History:
Tribes Of Yirath are made up of the Za'lashi, bipedal lizard folk who average 7ft tall, being partly aquatic they have become incredibly skilled hunters, being able to hunt both on land and water. The planet mainly consist of swampland's, mountainous regions and lowlands. Being a tropical planet its hot most of the year, leading most creatures to evolve to become reptilian, only a few rat sized mammals exist in certain regions.

Many tribes have fought over the years but since history is only passe down via cave paintings and story telling there's not much that can be learned fully, generally the worlds history is either mired in war or peace, always mentioning the yearly "Great Hunt" when all hunters try to hunt the most dangerous creature they can find. History seemingly repeated this way, with no notable names lasting apart from those of the tribe telling the story, after all who wouldn't mention their own tribes hero in a story?

That was until the "Skull Taker" came to power. Veezkus Tutzpochtlu was the chieftain of the "Flying Spears" tribe who unfortunately was being exploited by 6 other tribes in the region. However the young chieftain would not be discouraged, he rallied his troops and set off to take revenge. The tribe wars where brutal and bloody but slowly, one by one the tribes began to fall. Veezkus taking the skull of each of its chieftains and keeping it as a trophy, earning him the name "Skull Taker".When the time came to face the final tribe "The Stone Scales" the battle was more akin to a massacre, many warriors and hunters died but by the time the dust settled Veezkus Tutzpochtlu stood victorious. He took the skull of the enemy chieftain and chose to use it as a mask, as a permanent reminder of his victory.

Now a days the planet continues a simple life, hunting and the occasional war and of course the annual great hunt.

Culture:

Atlus as a whole follow a type of Monarchist lifestyle with a Nobility and Knighthood system in place. Despite this, everyone is expected to play their part in making the Principality run as efficiently as possible. If anything, Nobles are expected to work harder as leaders of their people. In practice, most Nobles either end up as military officers or renowned scholars, positions of power which they are expected to use for the betterment of the Principality. In fact, to be a Noble is simple enough. Prove yourself worthy of being Knighted and then work hard enough (or just have the correct friends) to be given a Noble title.

All Atlusian citizens are also expected to read and understand the message in Scholar Argo Cassari's book, One Foot At A Time. The man was the leader of the original Workers Uprising that led to the birth of the Principality and is revered as a Father Figure by the nation. His birthday is a national holiday and so is Liberation Day, a day to commemorate the birth of the nation.


History:

The Principality of Atlus as a Nation is relatively young. Being only about 150 years old as of the start. It began its life as a small mining colony under control of a Mining Conglomerate. The workers were overworked and were barely paid enough to even scrape by a living while the Conglomerate took in all the profits. One of these miners, a young and idealistic scholar named Argo Cassari decided that enough was enough. His first attempts at a peaceful rally was quickly and bloodily put down with force. After multiple repeated failures where the workers would be punished for even daring to fight back, he decided to use force.

Using an inside man, he secretly armed the workers with weapons and lead an assault on the Administration Building. That event was known as the Workers Uprising, a day that every Atlusian owes their life to as it soon lead to the liberation of the planet from the hands of the Conglomerate. But despite his charisma and leadership skills, Argo was never interested in being a leader. He then crowned his best friend and comrade in arms, Julius Branwen as the 1st Prince of what is now known as the Principality of Atlus. Argo would spend 20 years as his friend's adviser before retiring to a small farm where he died in his sleep after 42 years of living a peaceful life. But not before writing a book that would serve as the main cornerstone of Atlusian culture, One Foot At A Time.

Fast forward to 2779, a man by the name of Enrico Marsh misinterpret the words of the Scholar's book and attempted a coup to overthrow the Monarchy. What followed is a bloody civil war lasting 3 years. Almost the entirety of the Royal Family was publicly executed before Loyalist forces managed to rescue them. The counteroffensive that followed was swift and punishing to the Separatists, with all of their leaders captured and tried for treason following the war. The followers that surrendered were sent to re-education camps while those that didn't... Simply vanished. As for Enrico, he was killed by an angry mob when they dragged him away from his military escort on the way to his hearing. Witnesses say he was pushed by his escort but they claim that he was simply 'not equipped to non-lethally hold the mob back'.

The next 5 years was spent repairing the damage and slowly rebuilding the damaged Capital Cities. The oldest surviving member of the Royal Family, Prince Alastior V. Branwen was crowned the new Ruling Monarch and lead the country in its rebuilding process with a firm but gentle hand. Currently, the Principality is finally going back to its usual way of life. Although there are talks of their former masters returning to reclaim their former colony. But those are rumors. Maybe.



Military: Atlus Armed Forces

Description:

Atlus' military was one born of a colonial militia turned freedom fighting group from the Liberation War. While more than willing to work together for their Principality, the Navy and Air Force had formed a rather bitter rivalry due to Navy being chosen to handle space. The Army has chosen to act as peacekeepers during Joint Operations in order to keep things smooth.

In terms of special forces, that's where the Royal Knights and Royal Guardsmen come into play. Every year, they host selections and pick the best of the best from all 3 branches. After subjecting them to rigorous training on the harsh conditions of tidally-locked planet of Asterios, they are accepted into their ranks. Those who show exceptional leadership abilities or sheer skill in what they do are knighted. Unlike the 3 Branches, the Royal Knights and Guardsmen are not all lumped into a separate group but are usually deployed into each of the 3 other Branches as support and a good morale riser.

The Royal Army focuses on high mobility and air support with the use of tanks, mechanized infantry and all terrain vehicles to quickly cover ground or use flanking maneuvers with the aid of artillery support to force the enemy into a literal killzone. The Navy utilizes similar tactics with their speedy destroyers to harass the enemy and luring them into the firing range of their cruisers and battleships. Carriers are also used by launching fighters and mechs to support operations or to scout out the area. This, along with being the largest of the 3 main branches, allows the Navy to have a lot of pull when it comes to military matters.

Culture:
The Culture is split between the working class and the elite.
The working class almost exclusively work for the elite and have little or nothing to show for it. They are generally given a very small pay but are provided cheap food and temporary housing to their needs in lieu of fairer pay. This has resulted in a head-down, get to work kind of attitude. A good enough life to stop radical movements arising, close knit communities, generally all employed by a single house, and very little entrepreneurship as it is generally too costly.
Those that do try to stand apart, often have to work together or take out extremely high interest loans, often against their own wage as that is often their only real 'possession' of value. Most such people and groups fail and return to the working class more disheartened and often, though it may seem impossible, poorer then their fellow cast. The very few number of people that succeed end up in one of three places. They leave Sedna never to return and return to a normal life. They accept a better job and increased wages, living conditions and benefits in service of one of the houses and become part of the 'upper' community, the community of working class that are given such privilages. They embrace the Sedna way of life and become a new House or stay out of politics and just become rich businessmen this is rare.

For the Elite life is 90% party, 8% ensuring business is running smoothly and 2% politics. They host lavish parties and partake of the galaxies rarest delicacies while planning elaborate jests and other convoluted ways to fill their days. Sometimes business must be attended too. It is not considered impolite to walk out on the debutante you have been courting to attend to business but if you were to walk out on her (or him) to attend to a family matter or the like consider your relationship ended. For the Elite its a culture driven by money and power, much as it is for the workers just on the other end of the spectrum.

History:
As Earth grew more toxic of a place, both ecologically and politically many large businesses tried to find alternative locations, from the Moon to Pluto and everywhere in between. Eventually all such ideas were again swallowed up by major colonies and budding nations and they were once more under the grip of tax's tariffs and, often, socio-economic laws like minimum wage. This did not stop them trying and eventually, after the death of their home, a group of powerful businessmen, now known as 'The Old Bloods', founded The Solar Trade Alliance of Raw Capitalism. While the name didn't stick forever its goals did and other 'Houses' eventually joined, originally merely using the dwarf planet as a tax haven or slave labour camp but found that the Old Bloods were happy to push them off and found that even though there workers were paid little, when they tried to do the same without the added benefits of food and housing they would strike empty, even after threats or dreamlike promises. Some of these new houses found there way and formed a new group of houses now known as the 'Gold Bloods' who were originally called that because they were generally better to their workers then the Old Bloods and were more likely to hire their top administrators from within. Now little is different between the Olds and the Golds and they happily keep the status quo in order to ensure their continued wealth.

After the invention of FTL Sedna began to serve a new purpose. It was a stopping point before taking the plunge into the dark abyss that sits between solar systems. While this was fairly short lived with the development of the Space Highway, it changed the nation forever. A new creed of houses arose, generally called the 'New Bloods' by themselves and the workers, the old houses refer to them as the 'Mud Blood' because they are generally deep into smuggling and trafficking drugs and other generally considered illegal substances. The discriminatory term is interesting because the other houses are often their best source of income, yet still they consider themselves 'better' for whatever moral of ethical reasons that they can come up with. The New blood often subsidise their workers wages with drugs instead of a normal wage of provision of food.

Description:
Don't let its name fool you. They are ruthless, well trained and reward driven. While they need a reason to shoot, once they get that reason they will shoot you for the bonus pay. Each branch has its own focus but they can all complete all roles. Their arms are simple. Above all they are to stop the Houses trade from being pirated and will sometimes accompany valuable trade ships out of the solar system. Their other aims are to keep the peace, stop extreme crimes, like rape and murder, keep foreign ships secure in port (Not so heavy handed in Hel as the Houses generally give them bonus' to look the other way) stop the theft of House property (which generally benefits the workers as most their property is actually House Property) and ensure the safety of the Houses. They are more of a mercenary force then a trained military but that does not mean they are not trained. While the Dock and Housing Security are not the best trained the other branches make up for it in training and ruthlessness.

Sedna has five satellites, all man-made. Qouna and Maro are both just more housing and factories for workers. Ymir is the main space dock for the colony, it is a giant ring with docking on the upper (facing away from Sedna) and inner (within the ring) faces for public vessels and a small number on the lower (Toward the planet) and even a few on the inner faces for 'Trade' Vessels, basically ships carrying cargo between stations and the planet. (Nearly all trade goes through Ymir). Hel is a melting pot, established by the New Bloods is also serves as a dock for trade but this trade is generally of a less reputable nature and safety on the station is nor a likelihood for outsiders. It also produces many of their drugs and other produced illigal products and still stands as a launching point for people wanting to avoid the Space Highway. Trading on Hel either requires you to have the blessing and seal of a house or lots of protection, otherwise say goodbye to your goods as they are stolen from around you. The final Station is Sedna Prime, it is home to many of the Houses and is a favourite home of the Gold Bloods but is far from exclusive to the other houses. It is decadent and lavish station filled with all mankind's desires. While politics generally happens on either Ymir or the Capital of Sednidonis on the surface it was generally started by someone on Prime telling someone else a tale of a grandiose expense they had.

Culture:
Titan is considered to be one of the most inhospitable settlements in the galaxy. The moon is covered in an ocean of liquid methane containing hundreds of times more energy then the entire Earth. Its inhabitants live in the massive biodomes which cover Titan's surface, few having ever ventured out from their safety.

The people who live on Titan are known as the Titaneans, a subspecies of Humanity which was officially documented some time in the 25th Century. They tend to be taller than the average human, possessing pale skin and a wider variety of eye colors. Titan's low gravity has also resulted in frailty, leading to the usage of exoskeletons by anyone who goes off world. Those living in the Titanean Empire's other settlements are known as Lodiceans, a broad term use to describe the other humans who lack Titan's distinctive culture.

Titanean Society is divided into different social classes, with the most powerful dwelling in their own personal biodomes on the surface. At the top of Titanean society is the Armed Forces, followed by the aristocratic families which control Titan's hydrocarbon reserves. While poverty is nearly nonexistent on the moon due to its sheer wealth, outcasts and criminals are known to dwell below the surface in squalid conditions. It is even rumored that there are aliens who live in Titan's underground cities, a preposterous fable considering the Empire's hatred for anyone foreign to Titan.

The Titaneans are a fierce and fanatical people, having endured unimaginable hardships over the years on the barren moon they so proudly call their home. Yet they are undoubtedly some of the most honorable people in existence, no matter how barbaric and savage their actions may be.
During the battle for Ymir's capital, Titanean soldiers famously threw down their weapons after the enemy soldiers had run out of ammunition. Instead they chose to fight them in melee combat, the Ymirians using their bayonets while the Titaneans fought with their ceremonial swords. The incident was costly for either side, with the Titaneans eventually being slaughtered by Ymirian reinforcements.

Titanean soldiers consider it dishonorable to retreat, instead choosing to fight until the very end even though their lives could be far better used elsewhere. While this has caused numerous problems for the Titanean war effort, it is ingrained in their culture. If they are not given a chance to die in battle with their honor intact, a soldier will instead commit suicide using their ceremonial blade.

At the head of Titanean society is the Emperor, who holds absolute power and is even worshipped as a god by some. While the nation is run by a totalitarian military dictatorship, the Emperor's authority is unquestionable and his decision is final.

History:
Titan was colonized during the 22nd Century, established as a mining colony. Although life was harsh on the desolate moon, the settlement soon prospered as its bountiful liquid methane was exported throughout the Sol System. Titan and its sister moons declared independence during the 23rd Century, forming the Cronian Federation. The Cronian Federation gained recognition after a short war for independence, establishing a nation which would last centuries.

Nikolai Romaine, a powerful Titanean aristocrat, took control of Valeron in 2503 using an army of mercenaries and militiamen. He dissolved the Cronian Federation's government and founded the Titanean Empire, the ensuing civil war would kill billions. Since 2503, the Titanean Empire has been constantly fighting a brutal war of attrition to regain its "rightful" territory and position as leader of Saturn and its moons.

Culture

The culture is based primarily off of military status. Almost all males are at some time offered a drafting privilege into a military position, granted almost all careers and crafts are held tight by military statutes. Clones on the other hand are bred from the physically and intellectually pinnacle. While regular citizens are granted the right to deny drafts when in a time of peace, Clones will serve in the military until they have outgrown their use, aged too much, or another Clone brand is of higher quality. In situations such as these Clones can stay as a reserved military asset or be integrated into society. Enslaved Natives are seen as nothing more than savage creatures, and they are hated by their free brethren. The Uplifted are a species of K9 that have been specially modified to serve and understand their masters. They are respected in society and are seen as near equals. Free Natives are the few that bowed to The Overlord upon his arrival. They were given a habitat outside the planet, which serves as a military installation and breeding grounds for Xeno-Units, they are respected as fellow servants of The Overlord. Life for the Marintothians revolves around the simple religious ideals of serving the Overlord. Crime has nearly been eradicated, rape is nonexistent, and genetic errors are extinct. Marintothians aren't without their banes, they fear the day they are found by other interstellar factions. They have prepared for a long time to fight and die for the Overlord but their perfectionist mindset makes them fearful of the day they must go to war. Anything other than the Clones, Uplifted, or Freed Natives are seen as vermin, even other humans.

History

In the year 2443 when first contact was made with the Axidat, a small xenophobic cult grew immensely.This cult was centered around a single scientist that had discovered that somewhere off in the the darkness of space was a hidden paradise waiting to be taken hold of.This hidden paradise was a planet that had been cast out of it's star's orbit and still maintained a steady ecosystem. When first contact was made with aliens people rallied behind him in a panic and quickly signed off their rights and gave him all of their money, in hope of gaining protection in his paradise. Over time he was able to put together the ISS Florence and with the new FTL technology he was to be on his way to the dark and alone paradise only he knew the location of. The day came that those following him had been waiting for, the day they would leave regular humanity behind in a last ditch attempt to be freed of "probable" alien annihilation. When his followers entered the Florence they were surveyed physically, mentally, and genetically, then they all were put into "special" pods so that the journey would be safer.
When the Florence arrived at Marintoth, less than a quarter were present, the rest had died of a electrical "fluctuation" caused by the FTL engine. While in truth most of the people had been killed in their sleep because they were too weak for The Overlord paradise, this was a simple mercy. The passengers rallied to the windows, forgetting the dead, to see their home. A black hole, a dark and dangerous interstellar monster, it was certain death. They were closing in on its location so quickly that the panting and crying of children was silenced by the roar of the thrusters. A panic set in as the people realized that the cult was a trick to send a billion to their death. Then like a light illuminating the darkness the center of the cult rang out over the ship's intercom system. His voice was deep and soothing, in a second the screaming passengers become euphoric and calm. The Overlord gave them reassurance, with a simple word of unknown origin the "black hole" created a glimmer of light that grew larger as the Florence grew closer.
Through the guidance of the Overlord the passengers of the ISS Florence were finally safe, or so they thought. The Overlord explained he was their god and they they would have to fight for this land. On this strange planet was a native creature that had laid claim to it, a creature that would be exterminated or enslaved for its heresy. Somehow the entire population had agreed, and set their eyes on the conveniently laid weapon caches. The hunt began and ended quickly with a swift victory for the servants of the Overlord. While the followers were outnumbered 10:1 the slaughter lasted only a few months, before the natives bowed or became intellectually stagnant slaves.
This is the common history of things, written by astute followers of the Overlord.The truth is that most of the people on the ISS were brainwashed by the special pods, while they slept. If there were any that were wary of the Overlord before, they died. Marintoth WAS a planet that was thrown out of its star's orbit, but since it had life on it; an ancient alien power created some sort of covering for it. Using automated dark matter reactors the covering simulated a minimal light environment that would allow any life on it to continue living until an intelligent species were to stumble upon the ancient alien consoles. While a sentient species was finally sprouting from the darkness, another darkness set its eyes on the planet. Daestro Vincent Kelton spent a large portion of his life researching the possibility of Dysonian Spheres, he believed they were a simple fact of space bound sentients, they were the final stepping stone to perfection. Then he stumbled upon a strange black hole, one that gave off radiation not comprising of the gamma variants, radiation produced by dark matter reactors. He believed this was a Dysonian Sphere, until he realized that this was too small for a star, but just the right size for a planet. Then it struck him, the covering must have been used to protect the planet. Not soon after his discovery he began his cult, and only a decade later aliens were found, people rallied behind him and he took off for the black planet. He didn't truly know if the planet was protected, if the species were terribly advanced, or if it was a black hole, but he was taking a chance.
When his cult conquered the planet he found that it was nearly the same as the old tales of Earth, green and prosperous. The natives of the planet had just discovered the workings of black powder, but they found the truth of fire and sword. Those that bowed to the Overlord were set aside, and left in peace. Those that refused were either slaughtered or enslaved. Now the natives live one of two lives, as slaves in the asteroid mines and hydroponics farms, or on the orbital habitat. On the habitat they live free and happy, they have also been made into their near perfect form through the Overlord's breeding programs. The free Natives are just as zealous for the Overlord, maybe even more, as the Human populous. Since Marinoth's conquering, research has been heavily influenced by the Overlord's interest in cloning and genetic purification. Through this, a species of K9 has been brought up to a near IQ of 65, they are considered sapient, they have also learned to serve the Overlord.The skeletons in the closet do exist, a handful of people know Vincent is no god, but they serve him either way. Through their research of human perfection they have found a way to extend his life, though costing the Empire billions of energy chips.


Military

Servants of the Overlord

Description

While they are elite in their own right, they have been secluded from all other factions and empires. While regular troops lack experience they do not lack training, numbers, or technology. Ever since their creation the Overlord's Chosen have been used as a very tight and efficient probing tool, and while Chosen have been killed and recovered by other factions, almost everything must be destroyed to kill the soldier within the armor. The Black Star Navy is made up of a few dozen medium to large ships and hundreds of smaller ships, mostly gunboats, small-wing transports, and light corvettes. While the large ships are very deadly they aren't utilized for overwhelming power, they are mostly utilized for fighter and troop transport. The Overlord believes that the power of his army should be enough to subdue and capture enemy ships.

Black Star Navy - From fighters to battleships, the Black Star navy is the main source of offensive and defensive naval craft.
Annihilators - Separate from the Black Star Navy the Annihilators use small ships to transport the Overlord's Chosen for special operations. The Annihilators are the best of the best among pilots.
Rabrook - The Rabrook comprised of the Free Native Population. The Rabrook are the small navy assigned with protection or Marintoth's Xeno Habitats and asteroid mines. If war comes to the Black Star Empire most of the Rabrook will be mobilized to fight beside the Black Star Navy.
Conquering Corps - This branch is made up of Free Natives, Uplifted, Clones, and Humans. This branch is strictly for ground bound offensive and defensive units.
Overlord's Chosen - When there's a reason for war there's a reason for the creation of weapons. The Overlord's Chosen is the most Elite of the Elite. The genetic modification, cybernetic implants, and mortal training programs make the perfected humans look like a rip off. The Overlord's Chosen are equipped with the most elite weaponry, personnel shielding, alloy plating, and cloaking technology. Even though attempts have been made to grow the numbers of the Chosen it has been peaked at around 7,000. If war comes, they will be the ones to bring the Overlord the head of his enemies.

History:
A Large number of Terran princes, princesses and other heirs escaped Earth preceding the conflict they sensed coming. While they claim lineage of most, if not all, old world monarchies this fact is both had to prove and increasingly irrelivent. As Human population increases those with ties to royalties increases as a percentage with it. However the fled to the System of Tau-Ceti and created a new and independent government. For years they were small and self sufficient, their expensive colony thriving under such favourable conditions. This, however, did not escape the notice of many others and immigration began to increase. Suddenly more restrictive laws seemed necessary and no one could agree. This lead to the colonies on the planet becoming almost entirely independent of one another. One such colony was against overly restrictive reforms and tried to continue to care for people off their income. This lead to it receiving a disproportional share of the immigration and in need of expansion. The infrastructure, however, was not there. A simpler solution was needed before it reached crisis levels and that came in the form of a war. The first of many wars that are now called the 'Reformation Wars'. This colony, then called the Emerald City, found early successes. In war after war its influence grew and with it the central colony's infrastructure and power projection. Eventually some of the other families, married into a strong alliance found themselves in a desperate need to retain independence. Alone none stood as powerful as the Emerald City and so they attempted to work together. This was to no avail and they suffered defeat after defeat. After the Firth Reformation War the planet was roughly split. Many expected the next war to be the last and knew they needed victory. Talks dragged on for months but no one could agree on how to organise themselves or who should lead. As talks appeared to brake down again the fifth and final war of Reformation began. The allied forces suffered early defeats on all fronts but eventually one commander stood apart from the rest. As the allied forces were being pushed back on all sides she was managing to not only provide strong defence of the colonies she was tasked with protecting but even managed to retake some others lost by her fellow commanders.

As the war worsened and yet another continent was lost to the Emerald forces the allied rulers agreed, through their panic, to grant command to her. Within a few days the war was at stalemate. This was not enough and so they eventually agreed to give her leader, King Polashia, political control over the allied forces, effectively granting the colony authoritarian command for the rest of the war. At this point the war turned around and the Emerald forces were defeated. What followed were a series of political reforms. Commander Joo-lee Hiraz eventually was placed in power by the people and began the steps to their current government. The royal tradition on the planet still ran deep and so she named herself Juliette Tritari and, after reforming much of the government, assigned twelve (10 in base 12) colonies the authority of the Dodecarchy. Despite many of her more logical and progressive reforms many were instilled with a hidden agenda to move to use base 12. In time the less logical of those has gone the way of the Dodo and the more logical and found a home on the planet. In time the ten (12) leaders increased to be a more balanced representation of the population. The Dodecarchy held two major elections. Each Colony that was elected 'Major' would hold a vote to elect a Minarch. These would then take a seat in the Dodecarchy and a complex system to do with the peoples voting, the voting of the Minarchs and a bias added by the Monarch would elect the Primarch.

Much of history of Arvaron before the Imperial Rule was lost in the Great Planetary Civil War, however what remains is the founding of the Empire was that of Sir Septimus McFraga De Uther Draig, initially the capitol was named as Carmlan Until a Civil war broke out between the Royalist and the People's Army, Sir Septimus Draig died from his wound caused by his treacherous son Mordaude Draig who aligned himself to the People's Army, after the Rebellion, the Royalists under the Command of Sir Wolfrick Lancerot, who earned the name of Pen Draig, restored the crown and started the Pen Draig Dynasty, restoring the Empire to its glory and annexing its neighboring cities into the curret day Arvalon Dominion under the Emperor and him only, he became the greatest Hero of the Dominion and was worshipped as the Golden King.

After the the end of Emperor Wolfrick's rule, he was succeeded by his son, Garnahad Pen Draig, who kickstarted the first branches of the Militaria arm of the Dominion with the main focus on changing their battlestyle, equipment, training and more. the reformation of the army highly benefitted the dominion's industry, Space Warships and Mining ships were built in a rapid pace with the discovery of Morgawn B7R and its abundance of Minerals, soon the Empire Expanded into its local Solar System as the Industry sect for Military and Civilian increased.

Its High demand of in its Industry Sector led to the creation of Synthetic human like beings to help with the tasks such as Hazardous waste materials to be recycled as well in Civilian life to Patrol and work with their Human counterparts.
Some countries that were not part of the Dominion denied their annexation decree, tensions grew hot until the 7 Hour War occurred as a result, the Final annexation occurred, subjegating it's nearby countries into the Dominion, resulting in a massive unification of and a transformation into a Global Empire.

Description: the Military arm of the Dominion. They are the successors of the Carmlan Military and the other Military arms of their former nations. Their doctrine focuses on manoeuvre warfare where mobility combined with firepower is the key to victory, it is usually accompanied by the usage of the Terror Doctrine.

Culture

Mercurian culture is very close to that of 2010's American culture, politics can be very caustic, people are generally rude and have an upbeat northeastern American accent, Italian in nature. Most people are born into middle class families, and will work a variety of jobs based on wealth, upbringing, and education level, people are generally accepting of other nations immigrants and people.

Soldiers are trained much like 1970's Spetznaz, with vigorous exercises and work, generally focusing on strategy over brawn, however soldiers are not weak in that regard. Lots of simulations and initiations. The first thing that is done once a recruit is shipped into a camp (After being given uniforms, bunks, and bedding, etc.) Is thrown into a simulation to test courage under fire, then divided up into groups and given instructors. Their job within the military is then picked for them.

Education can vary from city to city, but most schools have a grade system, divided into mindsets, a kinesthetic learner goes into the hands-on section, a visual goes into the visual section, etc. Grades go from first year to twelfth, and most graduate at the age of nineteen.

History

Foundation
Created as an experiment to see whether or not humans can survive on Mercury, the UCSM was originally called Colony 16, and was a necessarily large one, starting off with shielded metallic domes to survive, you could only survive with spacesuits and large amounts of air conditioning within them, which was not cost effective whatsoever, and caused the wearer much discomfort, as tempuratures within the suit could still be over ninety degrees fahrenheit, tempuratures within buildings leveled at about seventy-five degrees fahrenheit. However surviving the cold was much easier after the domes were insulated over time.

Tragedy and the dawn of the UCSM
After a dome was punctured from the gradual wear and tear of the metal, tragedy struck when it could not be fixed and slowly the inhabitants died from starvation and dehydration. Causing new actions to be taken to fortify the domes, a detection system that noticed when oxygen leaked was implemented causing a big decrease of mortality rate, the domes were connected with underground walkways, meaning rovers didn't have to be used and fuel wasn't needed as much, domes turned into city-states and armed themselves, wars broke out under the surface of Mercury and one city state was able to take hold of Mercury, at the time being know as the True Mercurian State, eventually rioting broke out and the country became the UCSM two-hundred years ago.

Icarus Rises
After Mercury was unified big steps were taken to terraforming it, and thirty years ago Mercury was deemed surviveable without domes, the domes were removed and the citizens could finally see grass, cacti, and even snow, animals too even, they were strange, mostly rodent-like and lizard-like, but animals nonetheless. Quickly the population took this as it's new, beautiful home. Although it's still very dangerous, Mercury is as close to a home as it's population has.

People? There?
After multiple hundred years of isolation the people of Mercury found out that there were others in space, and after exploring the Sol system for awhile had found out that it wasn't so empty, quickly noticing the people of Mars and Venus, and even leaving the Sol system to find no-one, although Mercury acknowledges the fact that there are definitely others out there, besides Mars and Venus, they are yet to even think to speak to them, the current Premier, Kochland Ostedt, described it as: "A fourth world war, just waiting to happen.".

And here we are, at the current time in Mercury's history.

The Mercury Protection Force

Description


Over the years Mercury has noticed a need for better weaponry and equipment, it's military is weak at the moment, they haven't become as technologically advanced as other factions since it was colonized. It's definitely time for a change, after multiple terrorist attacks and civil problems, including the 'Sunday Massacre' in Concilii Civitatem, where six armed insurgents armed with stab vests and outdated automatic weapons shot and killed thirty men, women, and children in a theme park, Mercury is putting research into heat based and plasma based weaponry to replace the current ballistic firearms in service with no avail so far.

The MPF is trained in desert and snow based tactics extensively, as Mercury can go from one of the hottest planets in the solar system to one of the coldest of terraformed planets in minutes. Currently armed with ballistic weaponry but researching other types of weaponry, the MPF has done a good job so far, but clearly needs upgrades done.

Culture:
The Kashai Coporation, which rules the Legion, created a social system based entirely on a corporation's structure. The government is composed of CEO's and Industry owners on one side, and people's representatives and military leaders on the other side. However, the person who holds all the power is the Head of the Corporation. The normal citizens are mainly divided in three classes. First we have the upper class, which are the traders, industry owners, generals, police commissioners, and other people who have others serve under them. Then there is the middle class, the people who serve others but still enjoy some kind of social status, like trade assistants, army corporals, police sargeants, local factory owners, etc. The lower class are the people with little freedom, who work for others without exception, like miners, farmers and factory workers. The general culture of The Kashai Galactic Legion is an industrialised society (kind of a space version of the 1980's) with slightly different cultures on each planet, spacestation and other inhabited places within the Legion.

History:
The Kashai started as a small fleet of human Merchants. They founded their first intergalactic base on a planet (which they would call Derega). However, the local population of Trekeai quickly adepted to the new inhabitants of their planet, and a cooperation between the races created new possibilities. Due the steep population growth, they soon created space stations and set out to nearby satellites and astroids to find new places to live and get food and other recources from (after all, they were a merchant fleet). Soon, a political fight for power begun, with the Kashai Corporation emerging victorious and installing a dictatorship, with a social structure based on a corporation. To make sure most of the nation's citizens agreed to this social structure, slavery was illegal and trade became 100% state-controlled. The nation was renamed to The Kashai Galactic Legion and kept expanding it's interests, which is still going on right now.

Description:
The Kashai ground troops and spaceship security consists of standard Legionary Foot Soldiers, armed with normal guns and plasma rifles. They also have acces to armed mechs (as displayed in the picture), and small aircraft meant for troops transportation on the planet.

The infantry: the infantry wears a metal suit and is deployed as police force, ground forces, ship security and other purposes. Their suit includes night vision, heat-sensitive goggles, pressure control and an air tank. These last two are optional, as it's only necessary for the troops deployed in spaceships and spacestations. The weapons of these soldiers conclude an automatic rifle, a repeater plasma rifle, a heavy plasma MG and a sniper.
The transport aircraft has 2 plasma guns on it's sides, and is able to transport about 50 soldiers or 5 mechs to a certain location. They are only used on planets, never in space.
The mechs are big, heavily armored units, about 3m or 9ft tall. They Always wear one weapon, a huge repeater plasma rifle. These mechs are only deployed on planets as well.

The Kashai Fleet mainly consists of fast, heavily armed ships to escort the trading vessels, but recently bigger ships have been developed:
Trade Vessels, armed with only a few plasma guns. They have a bilayered hull and a normal force shield:

Extern Space Docks (only 5 of those exist), for ships to refuel and repair if needed, armed with a few plasma guns and radar-guided missles. Their hull is bilayered but they don't have a force shield:

Battleships, the biggest ships of The Kashai Galactic Legion, so far there are only 3 of them created. They have frigates in their docks, multiple missle launchers, a ton of plasma guns and ion cannons and 3 lazer rays (penetrates armor) on each side. Their hull has 3 on it's weakest points up to 5 layers on their most important points. They also have two ultramagnetic force shield generators, a technology so expensive and heavy it can only be used for the battleships :
