WHAT IS “LOG ON”?

LOG ON is an MMORPG that has known an extreme rise in the ranks of the gaming world due to its versatility and next level experience in the game itself. The biggest HUB of the game is in South-Korea where the next championship will take place! The game emphasizes an individual’s skill and is well-balanced. It offers fighting against both other players (PvP) and NPC enemies (PvE).

Servers
Starting from the second anniversary of the game, a new server has been added every year on January 1st. Therefore, the 5th server’s beginning marks the 5th anniversary. When a new server opens, level 1 accounts from other servers can transfer to it. At the start of a new server, there is often a lot of player traffic since many want to start anew. When the 2nd server opened, there had been so many logging in at once that the server crashed. From then on, the company Chaotic Gaming has increased the server limit when servers first open.

To Play
Players typically use a VR headset (but can be played on keyboard as well but not recommended), choosing brands which suit their needs. Players have small pop up windows they can click on to open chat, inventory or just logging out.
- ACCOUNT CARDS: To make an account, an account card is required. Each car corresponds with only one account. LOG ON has a specialized log-in device which accepts the card. Due to the popularity of the game, they are standardly found in Internet Cafes.
- VR: A player chooses their own special VR headset (which is brought out by Chaotic Gaming who work together with several brands). Some live on a budget, while others can permit more luxury though it all comes pretty much down on the same thing.
- KEYBOARD & MOUSE: For the unlucky players who can’t afford a VR headset or when it broke, they play on here. It’s less of an experience but will make do when it comes to adventuring around and levelling up. Combat has been proven to be more difficult.

THE GAME

The game operates from a first-person perspective. At level 20, the player can change classes. This function was implemented to allow players to experience a bit of every class before choosing. Respawn locations are in villages and cities. When a character dies, they lose experience. In a normal server, they lose 10%, but in Hell’s Fire, they can lose 20% of their experience. Additionally, when a player dies, they can drop their items. This penalty is not applied when battling in the Arena.

Events
The company hosts special events throughout the year, which can reward extremely rare items like skill books.

Hell’s Fire
To encourage the interaction between pro players and normal players, a special server was created. In order to enter, the player must complete the Hell’s Fire Challenge.

Hell’s Fire Challenge
The challenge is a two-part challenge that consists of a chain of quests and an Arena portion to test a player’s capabilities.

QUEST PORTION

Step 1 – Jumping: The first quest of the quest chain is to return to the Beginner’s Village and speak to a NPC who lost their money bag at a nearby creek on one of the rocks. At the creek, players are only able to jump forward on the rocks while the water is rapidly moving. Should the player fall, they will be moved back to shore, and forced to start all over. The money bag is randomly generated on one of the rocks. Once done, the player returns back to the shore, and returns the money bag back to the NPC.

Step 2 – Outnumbered Battle: The second quest requires the user to do 1 vs 100 battler only using normal attacks. Should the player die, the amount of enemies alive is reset back to 100 (there is no penalty for dying).

Step 3 – Hidden Boss: The third quest requires the user to fight a Level 70 Midnight Phantom Cat. Although the Midnight Phantom Cat has the strength and power of a Level 70 Hidden Boss, it does not have the amount of health as one should.

Step 4 – Precise Mobility: The fourth quest is picked up before leaving Beginner’s Village and is set up on a randomly generated narrow, rugged mountain path. Should the player fall while walking on the path, they die and need to start all over again.

Step 5 – Rolling: The fifth portion of this requires the player to avoid being hit by obstacles. Like in the previous quests, a player is killed if they are hit, and must start all over. The only way to pass through these obstacles is rolling, since crouching and walking are too slow, lying down and crawling is even slower, and the height of many of the obstacles makes simply walking past them suicidal.

Step 6 – Comprehensive Exam: The sixth portion requires the use of different movements on different types of terrains and obstacles. It has no time limit.

Step 7 – Mob Boss: The seventh portion requires the player to fight a boss with an additional mob of monsters.

Step 8 – Endurance Battle: This portion requires the player to fight a boss who has a passive ability that allows him to recover health automatically.

ARENA PORTION
The Arena portion has different challenges for a player to accomplish. If the player loses a battle, the counter for that challenge is reset to zero.
- Win streak: win 10 matches in a row.
- Health starting with 50% remaining: this gradually decreases until there is little to no health left (decreases in intervals of 10% and losing during this portion means you have to do this part again from the start).
- Win in a certain amount of time.

Player Killing
Within villages, players are not allowed to fight each other. However, in the ruins and the wild, they can. Battling each other does not provide experience. Additionally, killing others makes one’s name red. The more killed, the longer the name remains red. When it is this colour, NPCs are less likely to talk with the player. Eventually, it fades. In the Hell’s Fire, the red name penalty does not exist.

Quests
Quests can reward things from skill books to items to attribute points.

Attributes
There are 3 basic attributes in LOG ON: Strength, Vitality and Spirit. It increases as the characters level up. It is said that a max level account (80) that had finished all of the quests would have the same magnitude of attributes.
- Strength: Affects physical attack, defence and increases maximum inventory weight.
- Vitality: Affects health and stamina.
- Spirit: Affects status resistance.

AREA

Rainmore City
Rainmore City is one of the major cities in LOG ON. It is one of the first major cities that players can spawn in/come across. This city hosts an Exchange Market, which is an important place to buy and sell equipment after level 30.

Rutlam Wilds (5-10)
Rutlam Wilds is a levelling area for those who are levels 5-10. Players that are not level 5 or above cannot enter this levelling area’s dungeon. This area consists of a single Hidden Boss. It is one of LOG ON’s four large forests. It mainly contains goblins (gunners and tanks).
- Bosses: Livid Shadow Cat
- Hidden Bosses: Midnight Shadow Cat – It has a small body and moves quickly. When it reaches Red Blood, it becomes berserk which leads to its attack speed and damage increase. It can also inflict Bleed.

NPCs & PLAYERS

Arc
Arc is a player who started out in server 1,
but rapidly climbed up the ranks due to their creative playstyle and even gained the title as GOD.
They are always using the same name in every server which is why they are easily recognisable,
yet they are rarely encountered which comes to the point that they might use an alternative account as well.
They were in the championships and won the last 3 times in a row.
