Anywhere, somewhere, far away.
Highschool. The best or worst time of your life, depending on how lucky you are. If you attend Benton Grove Highschool, chances are it'll be the worst. Chock full of shitty teachers, crumbling brick walls and a serious asbestos problem, BGHS is a less than ideal environment for angsty, rebellious young teens who have way too much time on their hands and more than enough of an imagination to come up with ways to fill said time.
With the passing of an especially shitty school year, the students were determined to have the best, most hell raising summer of their lives. For a while, they did. Parties, bonfires, meet ups--all with an abundance of liquor and drugs--were hosted what seemed like everyday. The Benton's Grove police force couldn't be arsed to deal with shutting down any of these raves, and so, for one month, life was perfect.
On the first day of August, the news of BGHS's golden gal Stella Denver's disappearance shook the town, startling the students out of their drunken, drug hazed stupor. Beloved by all--stoners, preps, cheerleaders, nerds, jocks and the like--Stella's sudden departure affected everyone. Too lazy and understaffed to host a proper search party, local police officers pronounced her dead after only a week. School begins shortly after, tension high. It's only inevitable that trouble is caused, and within the first week a group of students are given attention--all from different respective groups in the school. They were content to ignore each other and serve out their sentence in peace in quiet, until someone piped up about the memorial for Stella in the front of the room, questioning her disappearance. Whispers begin to spread throughout the classroom, theories and comments about what actually happened, and by the end of detention they're all hell-bent on one thing: finding out the truth, and quickly.

Just a few quick things!! This will be and advanced lit roleplay, and as it is such, I expect a minimum of two paragraphs per post, but more would be appreciated!! All OOC chatter and planning, as well as important announcements and decisions will be held over Discord, so if that isn’t something you use or are able to use, this RP isn’t for you. Since this is a role-based roleplay, several people might want the same role. These will be given first come, first serve, but multiple people are able to apply (with character sheets) for the same role. I will accept whoever’s character I feel best suits the role and the role play itself. All links and other info will be held in the last tab!!

Well, not everyone, not really. Most people actually find him annoying, overeager and boring. Stella’s boyfriend, before she disappeared.

) BGHS’s resident laid back, oh-so chilled out stoner. The party never truly starts until they’re there, right? I mean come on, what’s a party without drugs to make it all the more fun? Captain of sleeping in class, and yet they still manage to maintain good grades. Stella’s cousin.

) Our ever-so peppy captain of the cheer squad!! Woohoo! At the forefront of all drama in school, whether as the good guy or the bad guy, it’s no wonder she has quite the reputation. Some people love her, some people hate her and she likes it that way. Stella’s best friend.

) The star of every annual play that BGHS puts on, they have no shortage of dramatic monologues, tea with honey and a need to be in the spotlight. A good actor could be crucial to figuring out what actually happened to Stella. Very observant, and detail oriented. Stella was their understudy.

) BGHS’s own Dali, the artist is always doodling in the margin of their notes, most likely covered in paint, and has fingers stained with charcoal. They find beauty in everything, and always have their sketchbook with them in case inspiration strikes. Sat with Stella at lunch every day.

)) BGHS’s queen bee, (queen of the world, it seems most of the time), she’s either loved or feared by all, there’s no in between. Everything is her business, and if you dare claim otherwise, there’ll be hell to pay. Her father is the mayor, and she goes through no efforts to hide this. Stella’s friend.

) Smooth, suave and flirtatious, it’s no wonder he’s BGHS’s resident player. Notorious for having slept with a majority of the school’s population, he’s been a part of no small amount of rumors, pregnancy scares and angry boyfriends and girlfriends. Stella’s neighbor.
Author of the BGHS’s Newspaper: (Taken) Quite an enigma in school, they seem to be everywhere, all at once, observing. Once a week, they post BGHS’s newspaper, full of juicy gossip, important events, and now, most importantly, Stella’s disappearance. They don’t belong to any one friend group, and tend to float from person to person. Stella was the photographer for the magazine.
Hoe: (Open) Like the player, she has slept with a majority of BGHS’s student population, and she’s not afraid to admit it. Sexy and she knows it, she’s always ready to flaunt what she’s got, despite any ridicule she might receive. As flirty as they come, confident and charming. Stella’s lab partner.
Goth: (Taken by

) lover of all things dark, mysterious and moody, the goth is the last person you’d expect to help with Stella’s disappearance. They tend to keep to themselves, and are quiet, though are surprisingly confident. Black is definitely their color. Stella’s acquaintance.
Wicked
Nerd: (Open) BGHS’s future valedictorian, tutor and one of the few people with good grades, they’re one of the smartest people you’ll ever meet. A bit socially awkward (but honestly? Who isn’t.) they prefer not to attend the parties that are always hosted, and as a result found themselves without many close friends. The first to raise their hand in every class, or to help a classmate with an answer, the nerd has saved the asses of many a not-so-smart student. Stella’s tutor.
Delinquent: (Taken) Every school has one. The new kid with a troubled past, who skips class but is smarter than they let on. More than content to cause mischief, try illegal substances and glare at everyone, the delinquent is the subject of many, many rumors, and a few people have even asked if they murdered Stella. In Stella’s English class.

) Poster child of BGHS’s surprisingly good music program, they love music more than anything. Singing, playing instruments—whatever it is, they love doing it, and they do it well. Oftentimes they stay after hours with the music teacher, practicing. Taught Stella to play piano.
Hick: (Open) The hick moved from down south to Benton Grove a few years back, and their love of country life, southern charm and outfits of choice make them stand out. Everyone’s favorite sober drive home, they’ll carry the groceries inside for your mother and charm the shirt right off of anyone’s backs. Stella had been the one to show them around when they were new.
