  Sometime, somewhere, several families that seem down on their luck receive an invitation. A distant relative of a family long separated by lines of cousins and marriages had died recently, and his incredibly strange will unveiled a new obstacle: a surprisingly large fortune. This fortune consisted of land, money, and several other conceptually wealthy objects that anyone would want to claim as their own. It would only be split among the family members who met a very specific set of circumstances: worthy branches of the family will have to spend three years of their lives in Waystone Valley, a sleepy city in the Porcupine Mountains of Michigan.
  
  Of course, all is not as it seems. The young'ins of the families that actually went to the Valley begin to notice strange happenings around town, and a number of phenomena related to locks and keys, and a mystery chained to the families deadly fates begins to unfold.

  Locke & Key: Latchkey Kids is a roleplay directly inspired by the graphic novel series, Locke & Key. Specifically, the elements from the series in this story are more inspired by the original comic run, with only minor elements from the somewhat less inspired Netflix adaptation.
  
  Unlike most fandom roleplays, while people are intimately familiar with the franchise are welcome, I also encourage people who only have a basic understanding of the concept to express their interest! The series is a mix of horror, mystery, action, adventure, and fantasy, with players not interacting with any canon characters and essentially playing a new location and mystery.
  
  For some context, the setting of Latchkey Kids is the fictional city of Waystone Valley, which is located in the very real Porcupine Mountains (or "Porkies"), in Michigan that are a little close to Lake Superior.
  
  Players will be acting as young adults younger than 17 years old. They will be either be with a family or by themselves somehow, invited to Waystone Valley, Michigan, in order to attempt the three years and attain the wealth from the promised will. Shelter, food, and education are all provided for by the will.
