Realistic or Modern Last Ditch

The house looks like it's been there for centuries and it probably has. At one point it must have been beautiful but now it's fallen into disrepair, a relic of the past nestled in between equally dingy storefronts and condos. Most people walk past it without even looking at it- either accidentally or on purpose. While it's technically called St. Jude's Halfway House, locals and residents of the home call it Nimby. It's the last stop for people who just can't quite make it anywhere else. After prison, rehab, and mental institutions fail you, you're sent here to be kept out of the way until you reform or disappear.

So when you find yourself on the front porch you aren't exactly hopeful. Something in your life got you off track enough that you've been deemed a lost cause. At least you don't have to pay rent anymore. But living here comes with its own complications. A house full of people just like you may sound nice at first but then you remember you're not exactly the easiest person to live with. Struggling to find a job, get clean, and get your life together only gets more complicated when you're forced to deal with people doing the same thing. And the organizations and government agencies tasked with helping you are turning out to be less than helpful. It's an uphill battle and thanks to the lack of regulation, Nimby has turned into little more than a place for its residents to sink further into their personal issues. Maybe you'll be different. But probably not.

Basically, a bunch of fuck-ups and failures are all living together in a poorly supervised halfway house. Ostensibly they're there to get better but it rarely works out that way. This is just an interest check, I'll flesh things out a bit more if there's any interest.
