Welcome to Kingdom Crest High School!

Here a Kingdom Crest High we pride ourselves in forming strong bonds and friendships inside of certain cliques. You are either part of the Beloveds, the Athletes, the Gurus, the Harlots, the Musicians, one of the Artists, or part the Techies. Maybe you just don’t fit in anywhere, don’t worry we have a label for that too-Misfits. It doesn’t matter really which clique you are in, as long as you know the right people. Just watch what you say and do, because every action, every move you make is seen by someone and the last thing you want is for your personal business to be heard, because we all know what that leads to-shunning. Oh, you think it’s your peers that care about your every move? Think again. It’s the infamous Burnbook that keeps you on your toes.

Get ready to be labeled.

IMPORTANT

By entering this roleplay you are agreeing that you are mature enough to handle any scenes that take place and understand that anything that anyone's character does to your character is not on a personal level. This being said, you realize that there is no reason to make your character into such a bad apple that no one will want to interact with them. You are also stating that you agree with the guidelines that have been set in place of this roleplay and are willing to adapt to any changes. Upon entering this roleplay, under no circumstances will you bring any OOC chatter here nor any OOC drama. You are also agreeing that at any time your character can be pulled from the roleplay by the owner or any administrators or moderators if the reason is fit. You understand that this is about high school drama and if that is not your cup of tea, then you need to leave, now. Most importantly, you are agreeing that you- the writer and puppeteer of your character- can write at least two decent paragraphs for each post for each character you have; failure to do so will result in a character suspension. If you have read and agree with everything stated above, then I bid you good luck in your journey at Kingdom Crest High.

PLOT.png

Middle school was hard. It was a constant struggle of feeling like you wanted to belong somewhere, to be with the “in-crowd”, and your parents telling you that you didn’t need to fit in to be liked or accepted and that you were perfect just the way you are. It was a mantra that you clung to, hoping it would help you through the days of petty pre-teens and awkward adolescence. You only hoped that high school would be better, that a little more time to mature would be all people needed to have a civilized school experience.

Oh, how wrong you were.

Welcome to Kingdom Crest High School, where belonging to the right crowd is important to your survival. For decades, eight cliques have ruled the school and anybody who’s anybody must be a member of one.

The cliques have existed in a tense sort of peace for so long, always one step away from ripping the other apart. But, things change with the arrival of “The Burner” and letthekingdomburnbook.com. Suddenly, this mysterious figure is dishing dirt on everyone’s lives, and as they get dangerously close to the secrets that the cliques want to keep hidden, they find they must ban together to not only keep their secrets buried, but to oust this Burner and silence them… perhaps even forever.

GUIDELINES.png

SOME NOTES BEFORE YOU JOIN
  • All Leader spots MUST be filled before members spots can be taken
  • DON’T BE AFRAID TO MAKE MEAN CHARACTERS. We really want to have character diversity. Don’t be afraid to make that character who’s a little strange or make a Beloved who isn’t afraid to be judgemental and petty as all get out! No one is all sunshine and rainbows all the time. There’s absolutely no one who gets along with everyone and that’s the beauty of human diversity. So be as bitchy or apathetic or spacey as you like with your characters! We really don’t mind!
  • THE BURNER MUST BE ASSIGNED/CHOSEN BEFORE THE ROLEPLAY CAN BEGIN
  • This roleplay can and might feature mature content which requires a mature audience. DO NOT JOIN UNLESS YOU, THE PLAYER, NOT YOUR CHARACTER, ARE AT LEAST SIXTEEN YEARS OLD. While we cannot ask you to validate this, we ask that you please be honest and honorable (and, no offense, but for those players who are over sixteen, those under sixteen are almost always easy to spot).
  • This is a LITERATE roleplay! This means we will be expecting players to have an excellent grasp of the English language, as well as grammar, punctuation, and who are able to characterize as well as move plots or events along. To give you an idea of what we’re expecting, the minimum post length should be 1-2 DETAILED paragraphs of at least 300 words PER CHARACTER.
  • Do not, I repeat DO NOT, make a character sheet and then NOT POST. If you do not post, we will ask you to delete your post so as not to clutter the thread for other players. Making a character sheet means you are committed to this roleplay and creating this story with other members.

RULES & GUIDELINES

  • Concerning Activity: Roleplays aren’t fun and exciting if there isn’t something happening, right? So make your own activity! Talk to and interact with other characters, spread some gossip, complain about unfair homework. MAKE activity! If you want to throw a party? BROADCAST IT. Know of a concert going on? BROADCAST IT. Want to start a fundraiser for a cause dear to your heart? BROADCAST IT. We will be featuring those sort of activities under the Events tab so the whole (or at least most) of the school will hear about it. It’s up to you to be creative and to keep not only Kingdom Crest but the roleplay interesting. That said, if you have any plot ideas concerning things like death, teen pregnancies, or so on, please contact the creators first to get approval.
  • Concerning OOC Chat: There will be absolutely NO tolerance for any fights or disagreements going on in the OOC area. In-character drama WILL NOT cross over into out-of-character chatting, otherwise you will be IMMEDIATELY pulled from the roleplay and the next event to schedule will be your funeral. How does underage drinking and driving sound to you?
  • Concerning Maturity: As has been stated before, this roleplay will feature mature situations dealing with mature subject matter. Therefore, we ask that, if you the player are under the age of sixteen to kindly leave now. Since we do run on the honor system and have no way to truly validate your age (because let’s be honest, lots of people lie about their age on the Internet), we ask that you please be considerate to us as creators and to other members of this roleplay and please not join. There is a whole plethora of roleplays on this site and I’m sure they would be thrilled to have you! We thank you for your interest, though.
  • Considering Post Length and Frequency: We understand, life can get hectic. Work, school, friends, hobbies, they all take time and we don’t expect you to live on the computer. But, in the interest of keeping this roleplay active, alive, and healthy, we are asking you to post at least once every 72 hours (or 3 calendar days). Please let us know ahead of time if you will be gone for a longer period of time so we know how to appropriately move your character along. If we receive no notification from you within a week, we will move your character to the pending list and ultimately pulled after another 72 hours. If you feel you are posting but your character hasn’t found a character to interact with or is floating aimlessly, don’t be afraid to reach out to other players to create some mini sub-plots or some new conversations! Posts must meet the aforementioned requirements of being 1-2 paragraphs in length with a minimum of three-hundred words per paragraph PER CHARACTER.
  • Considering Characters: First, like we’ve mentioned, ALL LEADER POSITIONS MUST BE FILLED BEFORE MEMBER SLOTS CAN BE TAKEN. We want character diversity, but we do also want to make sure we have a good balance of genders, sexualities, races, classes, etc. Please be mindful of the numbers when making a character. Second, you can have UP TO THREE characters, but you CANNOT have two characters in the same clique. There will be no Mary-Sues or Gary-Stus in this roleplay, so please be able to stay in character and realize that your character has limits and cannot do everything. Third, REAL pictures must be used and they cannot be any well-known celebrities (so this means no Taylor Swifts or Ryan Reynolds). Please also fill out the application AS IS. We understand that some of you are very talented with BBCode and we applaud you for it. But we want to keep everything neat and cohesive. PLEASE DO NOT ALTER OUR CODE IN ANY WAY. We reserve the right to accept or deny any characters without giving a reason as to why.
  • Considering Harassment: While we encourage players to interact with one another and to discuss sub-plots or ideas, we ask that you please do so respectfully. This means, please do not harass other members in their private messaging. This includes things like rushing or nagging a player to post or pestering them about a situation or idea on which they have already given their input. Let’s live by “no means no” and respect each other as writers, players, and human beings, thanks!
Considering the Creators: As the creators, we have put a lot of time, thought, and effort into this roleplay and we’re very excited about it. We’re also super excited to have you join us! Please understand that, as the creators, we have the right to add, remove, or alter any of the rules and regulations at any point in the roleplay. We ask that you please be gracious with us as we work to make this roleplay enjoyable for everyone involved.

CLIQUES.png
The Beloveds- Trust fund babies, old money, or whatever the case may be, the Beloveds come from wealth. This group is the elite group of Kingdom crest, the top of the food chain, the crème de la crème and they run the school with a fresh manicure, the newest iPhone, and daddy’s credit card. They are an incredibly exclusive group, prioritizing family, name, wealth, status and, above almost anything else, perfection. As such, they don’t interact much outside their group, with few exceptions. Though they call themselves the Beloveds, the majority of the other cliques (but mostly to their rivals, the Harlots) refer to them as the Bitches, a name that, in most cases, is aptly earned. If you come from money, you can bet that the Beloveds will be after you to join their group.

The Athletes- As the name implies, this group dominates the athletic sphere of Kingdom Crest. They are one of the more diverse of the cliques at the school. They don’t care what sort of sport you play, whether you’re male or female or something in between; so long as you play a sport or are a sport fanatic, you’ll find a place to fit in with them. The majority of the Athletes spend their time at practices, training hard and are focused on keeping in shape and on obtaining success in their sport of choice. The best of the best hang with the athletes, including the Beloveds, and the Harlots are always trying to score with the top players of Kingdom Crest.

The Artists- After so many years of the Musicians being the only artistic clique at Kingdom Crest, a rival clique sprang up many, many years ago, calling themselves the Artists. They still remain close with the Musicians but their members are talented in other aspects of art and creativity. The members of this group are talented in creating more physical representations of art. This includes activities such as painting, sculpting, dancing, fashion design, and even acting. This clique works hard to be a master of their craft, whatever that may be, though sometimes their work isn’t as easily understood or accepted as the Musicians’. As a group, they’re fairly laid back and welcoming. They mingle most often with the Musicians and often the Misfits.

The Musicians- The Musicians live and breathe music. They’re always sporting the newest concert merch or listening to the newest release from their favorite artists in their headphones. If they’re not listening to music, then they’re playing it. Most of the members of this group has been playing an instrument (or multiple instruments) from a very young age and are very nearly prodigious in their ability. Also included in this clique are vocal musicians, including the choir kids and aspiring The Voice hopefuls. Most members of the clique have some sort of dream of becoming famous and well-known performers. The Musicians often work very closely with the Techies, especially when it comes to A/V, but the group is also known as being one of the more virtuous, kind, and welcoming clique at Kingdom Crest and they mingle with other members of the cliques fairly frequently.

The Techies- This group has a love for all things electronic and technological, earning them their name. They’re often ridiculously smart, but with interests that sometimes veer towards the more illicit or illegal, distinguishing them from the Gurus. The Techies are masters of the computer and more than a few have hacked into the system to change grades for a student willing to pay enough money. They have a love of programming, computers, video games, and anything they can dismantle and put back together and ten times better to boot. The Techies also includes members of the A/V team and they’re often running the sound booth in the auditorium for Drama Club productions or creating the pump-up video before Homecoming weekend. Though they’re often ridiculed as being geeks and nerds, the Techies are smugly confident in their own superiority, as they’re entering into a booming industry and are almost guaranteed job security after college. Money may run the world, but money still has to contract techies to do their dirty work and to do it well…

The Gurus- Simply put, the members of this clique are the brains of Kingdom Crest. Nearly all the individuals of this group are members of the Honor Society and are all regarded as being Ivy league-bound. They prize intelligence and ambition towards knowledge, always seeking to know more. They spend a great deal of time studying for their AP classes and various college placement tests. If they aren’t in the library, they’re in the local coffee shop guzzling copious amount of caffeine to help them stay awake for their all-night study and review sessions. They can often be thought of as uptight, mostly because they’re always doing homework and extra credit and studying for their college-level coursework. But they’re otherwise friendly people who are perfecting their mental craft. They like to joke that they are really the ones that run the school and not the Beloveds. After all, while money may enforce the decisions, it takes a clever brain to manipulate the money into doing what it wants.

The Harlots- This particular clique came into existence because they were tired of being unfairly criticized or labeled for their life decisions. “Harlots” is just a nice way of dressing up what they do. They’re the sluts and manwhores of Kingdom Crest, a fact that is certainly no secret among the human body. These members like what they like and won’t apologize for it. The Harlots, then, is the group for any student who wants to sleep around whenever they want and with whoever they want, some only for the pleasure of it and others for a price, without being unduly criticized for it. They are hugely accepting of others, with the exception of the Beloveds or potential Beloveds whom they despise, and are willing to talk to other cliques without reservation (though you have to be wary of any hidden intentions with them from time to time). Members of this clique slip in and out of the Athletes in an effort to get closer to them.

The Misfits- The Misfits are truly the most diverse clique in Kingdom Crest. They take in those who feel like they don’t belong anywhere else in the clique hierarchy of the school. Whether you’re super shy, like to wear all black and studs, or live on the wrong side of town, this clique will welcome you with open arms. As such, this group has a population with a wide variety of interests and hobbies. As a group, they’re perhaps a little more disorganized and an easier target to pick on, but they’re fiercely loyal to each other and always strive to be kind to others. What makes this group unique is their value of passion. So long as you’re passionate about something, whether that be comic books, nail art, studded belts or what have you, you’ll fit in just fine. Beware, though. The Misfits are also home to the less unsavory students of the school, including those who are willing to dirty their hands for the right price.

“And I would have gotten away with it too, if it weren’t for you meddling kids!”

The sound of the tv was brought to life, clearing out the cobwebs of sleep that hung so desperately to the young girl’s mind. Her nose wrinkled up, eyes fluttered but didn’t open as she tried to remove he4rself from ted rea realm and back into reality. She wasn’t on the Mystery Machine with Velma and Scooby, she was back in her bedroom with brick walls and hard wood floor. She was laying on a mattress that laid on a piece of wood that she used as her foundation. She tossed, she turned, flipping one way and then the other as she became more entangled in her flower printed sheets, the comforter that was on the bed long gone and discarded on the floor with the remnants of her clothes.

“Scooby-dooby dooo!!” The catchphrase of the old cartoon was enough to make her fluttering eyes stay open and the streams of sunlight highlighted the dark brown irises of her eyes. One blink and then another led for her mocha sun kissed body to gradually raise up. With one arm up and the other bent so that her hand was touching the adjacent shoulder, Eden stretched her body and shook the slumber from off her body. A bright smile started at the right corner of her mouth and spread across her face as she glanced around her cave of wonders, or so that’s what she thought of it. Scattered across her bed was remotes from her different consoles, the latest Teen Titan comic that she picked up from the store the other day, her favorite snack—hot fries, gummy worms, and chocolate chip cookies, and the remains of pizza she ordered last night. Just looking at the food made her chest burn and a burp raised from her mouth.
“Scuse me!” She said no one before tossing her covers back and ignoring the mess. She’d clean it later. Probably. The short, 5’2 nerd had much more important things to worry about, like going back to school after a nice long summer vacation. It was heaven, if Eden could describe it. Long nights at Disco, longer nights on her games where she could bash Sabina from a distance, and then most nights spent curled up with her friend where they would mock each other and laugh. Eden could say this summer was one for the books and that’s exactly what she thought as she skipped off to her tiny bathroom and stepped into her shower, letting the warm water caress her smooth skin. It was a perfect summer and she was hoping for a perfect school year.

The thing that sucked about living in Pauper Court was getting to school. The bus ran to their neighborhood of course but Eden didn’t like taking it that much so she took her bike instead, why not? It was pretty outside and she liked to see the different people on her way there, it was always good to catch a glimpse, she never knew when she would be inspired by something, or someone, plus she liked when she wore a dress and biked, she always could feel a good breeze.

By the time she got to school, it was 8:30 and it was already bustling with hype of the first day. No one was really dragging their feet but going about with their friends, excited about the lavish festival that the school was throwing for the talented ones, the musicians. The intercom blared, a light screech and then a chipper voice of the secretary reminding students to head to the front office to be counted present. Eden had never missed a day, and she wasn’t going to start now. Placing her bike in the rack and securing it, she slung her brown shoulder bag across her and headed inside to the front office. Surprisingly it wasn’t too full and she found herself next in line to jot down her name and she extended her wrist to receive her red band to get into the festivals for the day.

The morning after summer, when you realised that you had to go back to the hellhole that was high school, was always an egregious one. The realisation only dawned on Hadley when he had risen this morning, bright and early at 6AM, to get ready for the commencing school day. By the time he was up and had gone through his gruelling morning routine, his mother had already left for a tedious day of work and his father was currently on a plane - returning from a press tour of his newest book, 'A Different River,' which had received critical acclaim. This was nothing new to Hadley, his parents were busy people and he understood that. He had gotten used to wandering downstairs at 7:30AM to a fresh, homemade breakfast prepared by the family's personal chef before watching the morning news and fussing his dogs a bit. Hadley had two dogs, both were only a couple years old, he had Astrid, a female Siberian Husky with fur that was a mixture between dark red, brown and ivory in colour, and Elijah, a Great Dane with a pure, slick sable coat with the exception of a white patch on his chest. After which, he drove the not too lengthy distance to school.

The glossy white Porsche 718 Cayman that he drove was a present he got from his parents for gaining his drivers license and he has adored it ever since. Hadley isn't too much of a fan of cars, but when it came to his own he just had to admire it. Parking in his usual spot, the spot that everybody knew was his spot, close enough to the front of the school so he didn't have to walk too far, however, far enough away that freshmen won't touch his car on first sighting of it. The temperature wasn't too warm, it being early in the morning, but it was expected to be a relatively hot day. The sky was practically cloudless and as he stepped out from his vehicle, Hadley felt an ever so slightly cool breeze brush against his skin. Quickly scanning over the vicinity, Hadley noticed the elaborate decorum that had been set up in preparation for the music festival. Kingdom Crest High repeatedly made an effort to welcome the students back every new school year, it never worked for Hadley. He would rather get straight back into his academics than aimlessly postpone it for the sake of more 'fun', in his mind it only made people feel worse the next day when they were thrust into learning physical chemistry.

Hadley locked his car as he hauled his backpack over his shoulder and headed towards the attendance office. This was a mandatory step before he could get into the flow of the music festival so he wanted to get it done quickly. The line wasn't too long when he arrived at his destination, still, it didn't stop Hadley from sighing as he ran an idle hand through his platinum hair, he waited the short while before he was at the front of the queue and confirmed his attendance before acquiring his red wristband to gain access to the days festivities. Walking back out to the front of the school, Hadley surveyed the area, raising a hand to shield his eyes from the sun's rays and hoping to find a familiar face to endure the day with.

Good morning! Good morning! Good morning! Good morn-

“Shut up.” A quiet voice would hiss, the repetitive alarm being cut off immediately afterward. The teenage girl who had snapped at her phone would stare at it for a while, a glare on her face before she finally gave a final huff and went back to her book. This, like every other day, was a part of the ritual Tatiana Elingston had made for herself. Not once had she ever been woken by her alarm. It was always an alarm to tell her to stop whatever she was doing whether it be a school project, extra credit, studying, or simply reading in which this case she was. Though, it didn’t mean she always listened to it.

Already back into her book, Tatiana wouldn’t notice her bedroom door had opened and the soft footsteps making their way towards her bed until the sheets that had been over her to create a protective fort were pulled off. A loud groan would sound from Tatiana, the book dropping from her hold and her hands immediately going to her arms to preserve any type of warmth she could that she’d received from being bundled up. “I’m up!” She’d quickly say, trying to correct her blurry eyesight. The sudden array of light that would hit her square on wouldn’t help either. She’d wince, shutting her eyes. “Mother, I’m up!!”

“Mhm… Just making sure.” Her mother would respond, her tone being one that let Tati know that her mother didn’t believe a single word she said. Tatiana would groan, letting herself fall back onto her bed and snuggle up to her pillow. “Mother, you enjoy torturing me.”

“Why of course I do. It’s my job to make sure you’re unhappy and ready to run away at any moment. If you’re not suffering, I’m not doing it right.” Alexus Elingston would tease, walking over and gently tapping her daughter’s cheek. “I know you enjoyed reading until the afternoon but school is starting up once more. It’s time for you to get ready don’t you think.”

Tatiana would sigh in response. School. Her desired nightmare. She had such a love/hate feeling with it. She enjoyed the learning aspect as it kept her refreshed but some days a girl just wanted to lay back with a good book. But she knew that wouldn’t happen anymore. Not with school back in session. Not if her parents had anything to say about it. So up the girl would go, getting herself ready for the day. Her morning routine would be done like it was with every morning and it wouldn’t be long before Tatiana found herself standing in front of her school once more. She’d shift on her feet momentarily, her eyes shifting behind her sunglasses to look at the people arriving around her. She’d give a small sniff before finally walking into the school. Her mind wandered and she thought about who exactly was here already. She wondered if any of the Gurus had made it to school yet, though she was certain at least one had. She hadn’t seen Hadley in a while and was quite eager to see him but she was mainly excited to see the Guru she considered her best friend, Camilla. There were others sure, but Tatiana always found it important to see her clique first.

The wait in the office wouldn’t take too long in her mind and she’d receive her red wristband to go enjoy the music festival. Tatiana was quite excited for it as she enjoyed seeing the school altogether as well as watching the Musicians and Artists shine. But after this day, the school would be back to normal and that’s when Tati’s enjoyment could truly begin.

As she walked through the forming crowds, a familiar tuft of platinum blonde would catch her eye and a sly smile would play at her lips. Changing direction, Tatiana would stride towards the familiar figure until she was finally standing beside them, giving her usual smile.

“Good morning Hadley!” Tatiana would greet, pushing her sunglasses up on her nose. “You’re looking swell, though I think it’s safe to assume that you probably regret not bringing sunglasses.” She’d give a light-hearted snicker, looking around them with curiosity. “Have you walked around yet or did you plan on standing there for the whole thing?”

"Music in the soul can be heard by the universe"

Nathaniel was almost relieved when the first day of school finally rolled around. Ever since his sister had graduated, leaving him the only child left in the house, his parents had been extra doting. His summer had been filled with uncomfortable family dinners, unnecessary trips across the country, and the unfortunate habit of his parents hovering and watching his every move and barging in at the most inopportune moment. A scheduled six and a half hours away from his parents was going to be a welcome relief.

Still, despite his excitement to get away from his parents for a while, he found it extraordinarily difficult to rouse himself from the final leisurely sleep of summer. Thankfully, his parents were on top of that, too. "Nathaniel. Nathaniel, dear," the voice was nothing more than a soft murmur and it took a while for it to penetrate the thick fog of sleep that shrouded his body and mind. With a strangled groan, he finally came to, pushing his face deeper into his pillow as if that would somehow make the gentle crooning voice vanish and allow him to sleep in peace. "Oh, good, you're awake," the voice continued, despite his continued refusal to acknowledge it. "I just wanted to wish you good luck on your first day back to school, not that you need it. Your father's going to be gone all day at the office and I have some meetings and appointments to fill my time, so we may be back late. Have fun!" And then there was a soft press of lips against his temple, the clicking of heeled feet, and finally the gentle noise of the door closing behind his mother.

Heaving a heavy sigh, Nathaniel finally rolled over, cracking open his bleary eyes to stare groggily at the steepled ceiling above him. A few long minutes later and he had finally mustered the will to stumble out of bed and make his way into the bathroom. He had to stop himself from feeling too joyful about his parents' late evening that would finally give him some restful hours all to herself. But, he had to admit, he was really excited to finally be out from beneath their loving hovering and insistence on being a participant in every aspect of his life. Maybe he'd actually, finally, get to have a decent piano practice session or finally get some time to work on the still unfinished oil paintings in his mock studio in the attic.

After a quick shower and breakfast (courtesy of their very talented Venezuelan cook, Soli), Nathan was sitting in the driver's seat of a far too expensive and far too glossy Tesla Model S. It was only a quick fifteen minute drive to the school campus once the gates of Kingdom Heights closed behind him and he took that time to mentally steel himself for the day. He couldn't imagine that it would be difficult academically; he'd never had any particular problems with that portion of school. But it was always anxiety-inducing being shoved into an enclosed building with nearly three-hundred other people and forced to endure the company of people he really didn't care much for.

Nathan parked as far back as he could. Everyone always fought for the parking spaces up front, creating traffic, but also large crowds of people that he'd prefer to avoid. Shouldering his backpack and running a hand through his already mussed hair, he began to make his way towards the front of the school, keeping his chin tipped downwards to avoid any attention.

MOSES ZHANG-LI
Baby you're like lightning in a bottle I can't let you go now that I got it

They make a celebration of the first day of school, count the days like counting doomsday and preparing games of introductions and syllabus to let the time pass. Their school in particular gives festivals as if it will make one more excited to be here, hype up the new school year like assemblies or concerts or parties. They make things grand, so people will lay awake the night before, hold their hearts from the anxiousness and fret over coming back like it's a completely new thing to them.

For Moses, it feels like opening a door into an old routine, settling himself into something tried for years, something known to him so much there is now no pushing it out of his system. It's nothing grand, nothing that makes it important even though it is the first- It is just a day. Before he was not here, but now he is. There isn't anything grand about going back to a place he's already spent three years. So there's no excitement when he pushes himself out of bed and throws on a mishmash of clothes that manage to work, pour some coffee from the pot his mom left into a to go cup and shuffling into his car to drive. The only thing he does with any semblance of care is probably transport his instruments into the back of his trunk, but once they're safely situated it becomes obvious that Moses Zhang-Li is tired and too sleepy to actually give a fuck when he drives to Kingdom Crest High and parks in his usual spot. He takes a sip of his coffee, warming down and no longer scalding, before he takes his backpack from the shotgun seat and slides out of his car. The black Jansport is swung over his shoulder in the same breath that he closes his car door, and Moses locks it before he throws the car keys in his jean pocket.

There is sleepiness etched deep into his demeanor, a sluggishness that makes the senior yawn around a cup of coffee clutched tight in hands long and lithe. He takes a few seconds to stare balefully at the school under round rimmed glasses, the grand white building that he considered hulking when he first came here Freshman year now something familiar and almost boring. A second passes, then two. Moses takes a sip of his coffee, bitter as can be but just right to his taste buds, still looking up at a high school like it has an answer to a question he never actually posed. The silence stretches on as Moses considers ditching completely because Moses is still really sleepy, but then he remembers that their homecoming is being celebrated by a music festival he plans to partake in and.

"Fuck me." He mutters, taking a long gulp of his coffee as he finally moves from his spot to make his way into the school. His feet are moving the the front office on autopilot, his mouth letting loose the occasional mutter as he continues to sip on his coffee, and it is obvious to anyone looking that the black-haired musician is sleepy as hell and grumpy because of it.

The muttering only stops when he finally makes it to the office, and then he just goes through the steps: getting in line, checking in, and getting his red arm band.

Kevin Kaile

Kevin had long accepted that he was a mess. Looking at the clock in his room, only to realize he had to be out the door in fifteen minutes and was still in yesterday’s clothes on the first day of school, was simply a gentle reminder. The question at that point was whether or not he would bother to actually get dressed. Really, the better question was whether he’d bother to put deodorant on before he got to school. The answer to both these questions was ‘yes’. Maybe. It depended on how long he had after making sure to do the most necessary things, honestly. Speaking of the necessary things, he was already out of not only his chair but also his bedroom door, hurrying down the stairs, slowing down to a brisk walk when he heard noises emanate from the kitchen. He didn’t really want to get caught running in the house, ya know? Reprimands weren’t that fun, no matter how light they happened to be. In the kitchen, his dad was already pouring himself a bowl of cereal, staring at the bowl as it began to overflow just a smidgen, the morning paper not even in his lap. Guess he hadn’t had his morning coffee yet. They might end up leaving a little late. Oh well, it was only the first day. Kevin poured himself a cup of orange juice, giving a quick “Hey” as he pulled out some bread, taking his meds as he waited for his toast to finish toasting. He stood there, staring at the toaster as his toast finished, before he hurried back upstairs, hot toast in hand. He barely managed to finish his toast, get into something noticeably cleaner, pull on his shoes, and throw deodorant in his bag before his dad was calling him back downstairs, ready to leave the house. He almost forgot his phone and backpack, having to run back to his room to grab them, leaving his computer to time out on its own.

The ride to school was quiet, though he gave his dad props for trying to start up a conversation, even if he kept shutting him down in that overly cheerful tone of his. His dad asked how well he slept last night, and he lied, saying it had been pretty good. To be fair, if his dad had been paying attention, he probably would have realized the light in Kevin’s room never actually went off. Was he excited about his first day of school? his dad asked, and he said yes, not elaborating on why or what classes he’d received, assuming after however many years he’d been doing this his dad knew, and once again the conversation died, the car going silent. In truth, Kevin was scared. Sure, he’d see people he hadn’t seen in months, though that barely counted as a good thing in his book. Maybe he’d even catch up with a couple of “friends”, though really he’d been in pretty good contact with the people he cared about over the Summer, considering he liked them. And yeah, this would give him more things to do, but he didn’t like people, and school was the definition of people, in all their pettiness and- he was thinking too much, and there was one sure-fire way to nip that right in the bud.

“Can you turn on some music?” he asked.

His dad did as he requested, and Kevin thanked him. Now, he could zone out on the lyrics, lose himself in them, have something to not think on. Magic. If there was one really good thing that kept him going to school it was the learning, the way it took up time, that you were expected to throw yourself into it, being punished if you didn’t focus on it enough. It was an excellent distraction. Don’t get him wrong, he’d kept busy over the Summer, and he probably could have kept it up if it were his whole life, what with practicing gymnastics and double bass, watching various tutorials, browsing book recommendations, caring for his mushrooms in all their various stages, playing games, getting lost in the web, and even taking on a couple of projects like the one he had been working on when he realized just how close to the start of school he really was. Sleep had been kept to a minimum, and honestly, he didn’t care how bad that was for his health at the moment. Being awake was better than sleeping, and sometimes sleep was actually impossible, so he’d take what he could get.

Eventually, they got to school, and Kevin was out of the car with a quick hug and a “love you” to his dad. He grabbed his bag, waving with that signature smile already on his face as he watched his dad drive out of view. That was it. He was here now, and the school year had officially begun. He sighed, turning to face the building. Time to spend another year watching the animals. There were some other people making their way to the building, but honestly, he didn’t really care. He simply walked in, trying to keep calm around all these other people as he got into the short line, checking in before heading to find a bathroom. Sure, the festival was great, with its live music and its absolutely astounding amounts of people, but he had to put on deodorant first, so the festival could wait.

The sun continued to beat down on Hadley as he stood outside the front of the school, he was glad he only wore a t-shirt (merchandise from one of his favourite bands, The Neighbourhood) and some dark blue, wash ripped jeans accompanied by a pair of completely black Nike trainers. Not long had passed with Hadley scanning the surrounding area before he was met with a familiar face - the face of Tatiana Elingston to be specific. The girl was one of Hadley's good friends and a part of the same clique so he welcomed her presence, he had been waiting for someone he knew to make an appearance after all.

Wearing an amiable smile, he turned to face Tati who had greeted him warmly. "Morning Tati, it's delightful to see you as always," he uttered before raising a curious eyebrow. "Though I'm wondering when you got back from the 1950s because I haven't heard anybody use 'swell' in quite a while," he commented, a light chuckle escaping his lips, before acknowledging her statement. "I think you're right, sunglasses would have been a smart idea though I'm blaming it on my family not having any caffeine in the house at the moment. I did actually plan on standing here for the whole festival though, you know, just to make sure I'm a role model for all the freshman because who doesn't want to not feel their legs the next day because they stood in the same spot for six hours?" Hadley jested, his smile shifting to a slight grin.

Strolling a couple of leisurely steps towards where the festivities were supposed to be held, Hadley looked over his shoulder to see if his fellow Guru was following suit. As Tati joined him, he gazed over to her once more. "So, how was your summer, being the party animal that you are I bet there was a lot of alcohol-fuelled regrets?" he joked, the sarcasm dripping from each word. "Oh, and did you manage to beat your personal record for the amount of books you could read over the break?" It might have seemed on the nerdy side to record the total amount of books you've read over a period of time, but there was weight to it; Hadley had agreed to buy Tati ten new books if she had read more than him in their time off.

Nikolas Deen@@@
Nik was already up by the time his alarm went off, sitting on the couch watching the morning cartoons play as he absentmindedly turned off his phone alarm. His bag was already packed, he had already eaten the toast that he made for himself, and really if he just put his shoes on he would be good to go. His Ma wasn't home yet though, and really that was what he was waiting for, because he couldn't let himself leave the house not knowing whether she was going to come back happy and well. It was an old anxiety, one that maybe Nik should have gotten over by now, but he also hadn't gotten over his childhood routine of being glued to the television, so maybe it was something Nik was always going to be stuck with. He didn't mind, he made sure his Ma was safe every morning, so it couldn't be all that bad.

Nik perked up when he heard the jingle of keys at the front door, turning down the volume of the TV while he got up to greet his Ma at the door. Both of them were exhausted, because one had worked all night and needed to go to bed, while the other was an anxious idiot and got up far earlier than he needed too, so the morning greeting was quick, but Nik said hello and goodbye to his Ma as he shoved his shoes on and headed out the door. He took the bus, like he always did, not looking at any of the other students who took the same bus to school. He didn't like having the full attention of heaps of people, one or two was fine, but he preferred being the silent cameraman filming the scene rather than being the big-name star. And today was a big day too. Kingdom Crest always did something, something big to get students excited for the school year, and Nik always took pictures to send to the Vice so that the school could use them for their website. He always got credit for them too, which was nice, so Nik was going to have a big day. It was always a little nerve-racking coming back, which affected Nik like it would anyone else, but today he was going to be in his element, and that was all he needed to worry about.

He prepped his day camera on the bus as soon as it turned around the familiar corner, and as soon as Nik hit concrete he started capturing the scene of Kingdom Crest. The fashion of the first day, the fashion of a music festival on the first day, red armbands, people greeting each other, and throwing deadly looks from across the grass. Not every picture he took was going to go and be used by the school, which meant tonight was going to be busy for Nik. Editing and selecting pictures took time, especially since he was so thorough with capturing the moment, but really Nik wasn't going to go and complain. He loved this stuff.
After getting the initial front lawn scene down in digital memory, Nik headed inside to take pictures of lined up students, and get his own armband. Getting pictures of the stage in the early morning light would probably be good for a cover image, and Nik wanted to get the aesthetics of everything down on film before he had to add filters to it.

Sabina Soares

location: school -- front office | status: sleepy as hell | with: eden summers Neri Neri

"Fuck me," Sabina swore when her eyeliner happily slid up. Grabbing her makeup remover, she grumpily redid her eyeliner on her left eye for the third time. A dull headache slammed away at her and she reached for water. "Shouldn't have drank so many cocktails last night..." she mumbled before she focused on redoing her winged eyeliner again.

Fifteen minutes later, her makeup was finished. She pouted in the mirror before smiling naturally. God, she loved her lip colour-- it was a gorgeous wine. She snapped a selfie to her streaks and headed off to school. Today was going to be great. She had heard through the grapevine about a music festival.

The front office was filled with people. She sighed and adjusted her Michael Kors bag. Flicking up her shades, she sauntered up, ready to queue when she spotted Eden already inside the festival grounds. Her eyes lit up. Gaze darting around, she figured cutting wasn't going to be worth it when the signing in was going pretty quick. So she impatiently waited in line, fingers tapping away on her thigh until it was her turn. With a red armband on, she glided into the festival.

As she searched for her friend, she took in her surroundings. She recognised a good number of the students. None of them particularly interested her though; she only wanted one person. Fighting through her headache which would probably be there for the rest of the day - because who needed Advil - she finally found Eden.

"Eden!" she hollered and pushed her way through a gaggle of girls, shooting a "Sorry hun" to them to her friend. "I missed you!" She threw her arms around the younger girl. "Even though we met literally two days ago," she added with a snort. "Do you have any idea what's being planned? All I saw was music festival." In typical Sabina fashion, she only absorbed two words in and forgot about the rest. "And do you have Advil?"

Trinity Maxwell
An alarm clock rings, echoing off the walls of a small bedroom. A girl tosses and turns in her bed, her slumber being disturbed by the noise. Finally, a hand emerges out of the sheets and slaps onto the clock monster.
Trinity's head pops out from under the covers, and with a low grunt, she pulls herself up. Trinity was never too eager to go to school and today was no exception. Glancing over at her dusty guitar case sitting up against the wall, she lets out a sigh.
"One more year, then I'm out." She says, almost reassuring herself. Trudging over to her closet, the blonde sorts through her mess of a wardrobe. After a couple minutes of deciding, she picks out a nice, thin, gray sweater, a pair of black skinny jeans, and her docs. Trinity grabs her back pack off of her door handle and takes one more look back on her guitar.
With a quick shake of her head, she walks out of her room and into the kitchen. Making herself a quick breakfast of toast and jam, she sits for a moment and looks around her home. It wasn't much, and most people say that this community is more family oriented, but she believes that her parents just wanted to save money.
"Bye mom, bye dad, I'll be back after school, or maybe I won't, it's not like you'll care either way." She scorns. Trinity knew the house was empty, but it gave her some sort of feeling of power when she said it.

Walking outside, she locks the door behind her and makes her way to the bus stop. Upon arriving, she realizes that she's already late and decided to walk. Whistling as she goes, the young 17 year old, recieves some strange looks from people on the street, but she shrugs it off. Trinity was never really bothered by people thinking she was strange, she even thought of herself as somewhat strange.

About 20 minutes of walking went by and the blonde finally makes it to Kingdom Crest. Looking up at the school building, she lets out another sigh.
"One more year." She reminds herself. As she walks foreword, she notices that there aren't many kids outside. She must be later than she thought. Making her way to the front office, she looks around inside. This place is a mansion compared to her old school, even though it's her second year at Kingdom Crest, it still surprises her.
Once she makes it to the front office, she takes a seat, waiting to be called to sign in late.

Pari Khatri
Genuis | Hacker | Liar

The sun was barely peeking its rays over the horizon, the light was red bleeding across the walls of the bedroom. Pari was sitting on the window edge seeing the room slowly brighten up, she slowly lifted the cigarette to her lips taking a long drag, enjoying the silence. It was only at dawn that her neighborhood actually enjoyed any form of silence, the nights filled with echoes of gunshots and laughter and the days filled with barking dogs and screaming neighbors. Though when she smoked she had to keep the window open, filling the room with a pungent smell of the dumpster that her apartments was situated next to.

Wonder if I could skip, first days are always so irritating. She thought, tapping the ash away outside, she really dreaded first days. No not school itself, but first days that seemed to run by its own formula. In which teachers will force their students to introduce themselves with one fun fact about themselves and then have the class form groups in order to get to know each other better. These groups will probably be either group of friends that had planned on taking the class together or stranger who will awkwardly stare at each other till the teacher finally decided to teach the class.

Then there was the musical festival Showcasing the amateur musicians at the school with their crappy take on this or that pop song. Pari was exhausted thinking of it all. Once the cigarette was finally down to the end she put it out against the window edge (several other burn mark were dotted on the edge) before flicking it outside. The screen of her laptop made a noise and she glanced over seeing that her mod for Skyrim had finally downloaded. She quickly installed it to her game’s folder hearing the bathroom being slammed shut.

It was about twenty minute till she had to show to school, about the time she had to walk there, she pulled her laptop into a black bookbag, which was pretty much all she needed but she put in a notebook in case a teacher insisted she uses paper and pencil like a caveman. Somehow teacher were suspicious she would be looking at non-school related material. They weren’t wrong but the suspicion still hurt.

She stood up stepping over the piles of laundry that may or may not be dirty, the apartment itself was a miserably cramped one bedroom apartment who housed Pari and her mother who was currently vomiting her guts about. She quietly knocked on the door of the bathroom only hearing heavy breathing, she shrugged before walking down the narrow hallway. Then she heard the bathroom door creaked open.

“Pari” She heard the croak from her mother who was still hidden in the bright light of the bathroom but her silhouette was hunched over leaning against the bathroom frame. “Are you leaving?”

“School”

“Is it that time already” Her mother sighed, running her hands through her long black hair. “I wanted you to run by the liquor store later today.”

“Give me money and I'll bring it by during the lunch period” Pari said annoyed

Her mother threw some bills on the floor before going to the bathroom to puke again. Pari rolled her eyes before picking it, about fifty bucks, she made a note to have a nice lunch with this money and walked out into the slowly lighten up neighborhood. The school itself wasn’t very far walk, about twenty-minute walk and she’d taken its path so many times that it was partially a mindless effort. She might as well go to the music festival, could be funny, she thought heading for the office.

She headed in the direction of the office, a small line forming outside. Walkers like her never were really early. She could see Nik taking pictures of the students. She got in line as well "Are you getting a good angle of these students?"

notes: i just kind of assumed he made it to the bathroom if that's alright with you?

He's chugged down all his coffee seconds after he left the front office, and he still feels too groggy to function. The sun shines so bright it feels like a mock, some of the people around him so cheery he has to try his best not to groan at them like the Grinch on Christmas. Caffeine from coffee actually doesn't kick in until about half an hour, and so he has no choice but to wait for it to do so. Until then, he's forced to attempt to not to pass out from sheer tiredness, wondering what else he can do to wake himself up. (A part of him is tempted to do the exact opposite, to find a friend and push them down so he can use them as a pillow until his turn to perform comes.)

Moses figures that washing his face would do him some good though, so he heads over there, hand covering his mouth as he yawns again. He'll wake up soon enough, the coffee his mother brews is positively insane, rancid enough that his more sweet-toothed friends have choked and almost died the moment they took a sip of the cup he would have every morning without fail. It just takes a while to fully get into his system, and once water gets on his face, he's sure that it'll wake him up enough for the half an hour required before he'll feel just as alive as he did last night when he was binging "Chopped" as he ate a bowl of instant ramen and was too entranced by the show to question how his life came to this.

He stumbles into the bathroom with no little grace, heading straight to the sinks as he turns on the faucet to splash some water on his face. Before that, he takes care to take off his glasses, handing him to the nearest person as he raises his hand in the universal motion for 'wait a second'. He splashes some water on his face, washing it until he feels significantly more refreshed. Like he could finally start the day, even though it already has and he hasn't already been dealing with it. The musician grabs some paper towels to wipe the droplets off his face, the motions taking a few seconds before he's deemed himself dry enough to wad up the white papers and throw them in the trash can with a practiced arc, just making it inside the cylindrical can. It makes a pleased smile curl up the corners of his lips, a ghost of a smile as he finally turns to the guy he lent is glasses to take them back. "Thank you for that." He murmurs, putting golden rims back on as he looks infinitely more satisfied than before.

There would be a familiar scream that would pierce through the small home in Pauper Court, jarring the oldest child of the group out of his sleep. His eyes would open and his sight would be slightly blurry as he stared up at the ceiling. Who had been screaming like that? Sure he heard screaming every day and night but damn, had it ever woken him up like this? He’d lay there for a few seconds longer, trying to place the sound when it happened again, making Van’s heart jump out of his chest. Though this time the scream would be ended with laughter and Van could finally relax. It had been the youngest girl in the house, Ebony.

“Ebony, stop that screaming!” He’d hear his stepmother call from the room next to his and the playful laughter and screaming would go down a few notches. Van would find himself chuckling in response and with a loud yawn, he’d force himself to sit up. He looked around his room, wondering why there was an outfit laid out on the floor beside his book bag. Had he put it there?

The door would open, Van’s eyes snapping toward the lady of the house as she shuffled in and went to his drawer to put some clothes in it.

“Well look who is finally up!” She’d greet him, that loud and loving voice of hers causing a small grin to form on his face. “It’s about time!”

“Morning Ma,” He’d greet, yawning again. “Did you put those clothes there?”

“You did that.” She’d respond. “For today. Don’t tell me you forgot?”

Van would pause, racking his brain for whatever it was that she was talking about when it would hit him immediately. School. His hand would fly towards his phone beside him and he’d check the time seeing that school started in about forty minutes and he was just getting up. And on top of that? It was the fucking Music Festival. The day where he could shine. And he was here laying in bed.

It would only take seconds for Van to fly out of the bed, running over his younger brother Mark who shouted at him. But he didn’t care, only laughing in response as he hopped into the bathroom. Fifteen minutes later Van would find himself running out of his house and hopping onto his bike. Humming to himself, the happy-go-lucky teen would speed towards the school, already seeing the crowd in the distance. He grew excited, pedaling just a bit faster until he finally reached the school grounds. Twisting this way and that, Van would maneuver his bike through the huge crowds of people, seeing Eden along his route.

“Hey there Eden!” He’d shout at her, sticking his tongue out at her playfully as he rode by. He wanted to stop but he was late as it was and needed to get to the office. So when someone opened the main doors to walk out Van would have no problem riding his bike inside and pedaling down the hallway. He’d make his way to the office, choosing to be a pest and ring the small bell on the handlebar. It earned some dark looks from the staff and he was sure one of them would say something but he was having too much fun. He’d stop in front of Pari, giving her a smirk. “Well good morning there, queen of the damned.” He’d greet, giving a snicker before turning to look at Nik. “What’s up, man? School just started and you’re already taking pics. Take good ones of me!” He’d joke, back pedaling towards the door and ignoring the shouting of the secretary behind the desk who was telling him to get off.

He’d notice a familiar face sitting on the bench and sent Trinity a smile. “Good morning Trinity!” He’d greet her, stopping in front of her. “What are you doing sitting here? We’ve got a music festival going on. They need you playing! Not sitting here. I’m on my way to go set up for when it’s my turn. Wanna come with?”

June snapped his head up from his current spin , as the music cut off and a alarm took over. 'It's been two hours already? ' He slightly poured, turning off the alarm and heading to the adjoins bathroom to rinse off. He walked out, and grabbed his clothes, and got dressed in the studio. 'Wonder how long Jay will be with her make up.' He groaned . He grabbed the keys and put them in his jeans pocket.

Today's look sported a typical dance practice throw on. A white tee shirt, black skinny jeans, white tennis shoes, and his pink and grey hoodie tied around his waist. He unlocked the basement door, or well his studio door , cutting off the lights as he went. He made sure to lock it behind him. He needed to find something his sister couldn't unlock, but for now a simple key lock did the job. He walked into the kitchen, grabbing a bottle of water and an apple. "She better hurry up, I'm going to grab my bag and leave her here if not. " He said , loud enough for her to hear even though she was a floor above him. A single stomp sounded above him. He grinned.

"If you take your drivers test then you won't need me to cart you every where. "He said, only getting another stomp. He shook his head and bit into his apple, grabbing a napkin when the juice slid down his chin. "I will be in the car Jay." He said, grabbing his bag , and sliding his phone into the other pocket of his jeans. 'Headphones, keys, bag, phone, hoodie, annoying sister...check.' He went over the list and opened the door with a quick twist, shutting it with a loud 'bang' sound. He unlocked the car with his free hand, kind of hard with his apple and bottle in the other hand. He sat in the car, turning on while he ate and waitied on his sister. "If we are late I'm leaving her tomorrow. He thought, biting into the apple again. By the time he had finished the apple, got out and threw it away, and got back into the car he heard the click of a seat belt beside him.

"Drive." The harshness in his sisters words didn't startle him, he looked at her. "Jay, you look nice today." He wasn't complimenting her because of he was her brother, but because he did think she looked nice, if only she had the heart to match. A fleeting smile was all he got. "Let's go." Jay said again, the same sharpness as before , but more tense.

Jay

Jay lifted her self out of her bed, "great, school day." She grimaced at the face looking back at her in the mirror. 'I look like I just climbed out of the bushes.' She shuddered. She quickly clambered across all the pillows and blankets. 'Off, off , off.' She thought, finally shutting the alarm off. 'Shit..' she thought falling of the bed with a thump. 'Ugh.' She rolled across the floor to the bath room.

She started the shower, 'tea mint or Cherry Blossom? She pondered, grabbing the pink cherry blossom bottle and doing her normal routine. Fifteen minutes later , she stepped out and slipped on a white blouse and black skirt that fell just above the knee with black tights. Black watch on her left wrist, and black low heel. Monotone. Much like her room. Unlike her brothers grey and other colors. Black and white went well with each other and showed her views perfectly in her opinion, useful or waste of time. She blow dried her hair , brushing and straightening it. To top it off a white beanie was placed on top.

She had just stepped out the bath room when she heard her brothers voice, slightly muffled , but clear enough. 'You wouldn't dare leave me , unless you wanted to bring mommy and daddy's wrath~' she thought, smirking. She stomped to let him know she heard him. She walked over to the 'make-up desk' as she called it. Black of course, with a single bamboo plant , and a assortment of makeup. Her brother spoke again, and she stomped with a sigh. She did a little eye liner and mascara, then lip tint before deciding she was satisfied.

She heard the door slam shut and slammed her hand on the desk. "You know that door is going to break with all your slamming. " she said out loud, only getting a awkward silence as response. She grabbed her bag, her laptop bag, her phone. "Done."

She padded down the stairs, elegant steps despite her awkward hold on her bags. Setting them down on the counter, she grabbed one of her premade smoothies and taking her time. Five mintues later, she washed the cup and left a note to her mother , who would be up in a hour. She grabbed her bags and sashed to the car, locking the house door behind her. She placed her bags in the backseat, the settled into the passenger seat, clicking the seat in place. "Drive." She made sure June knew she was mad, but when he complimented her, she smiled a little. 'I know that.' She erased the expression and edged her voice. "Let's go.

The drive went by quickly, and June got out and opened Jay's door. Handing her stuff and grabbing his own. "See you in the halls." He told her heading over to where everyone was gathering, Jay close on his heels. (@anyonee)

'Thump' he watched his twin fall out of the bed and groaned. "Come on. We are going to be late if you don't help round up the little ones. " He said, standing. Lee walked out already dressed, showered and repared. Breakfast was almost ready, the kids where up and rhnning around. "Round up!" He yelled, and all the little boys came running to him, his twin brother close behind, still rubbing his eyes. He quickly plated everyone's food, before making his own and eating quickly. And deep voice came from behind him. "Am i to late?" His father said, towering over him. Lee grinned and shook his head, "Just in time dad." He said handing his father a plate , the moving to clean up the mess.

"It looks edible" his father joked, knowing well that Lee could cook really well. "It's not. I poisoned it so I wouldn't have to deal with the three terrors." He retorted back. Laughter filled the room, for a second they felt like a full family again, but he knew it wasn't. It would never be without his mother at their side. 'Push it away, this is your life, not the past.' He couldn't falter, Lee knew that. It would impact the boys. "Alright, boys upstairs and get dressed. Mini go get yourself dressed and help them please." His brother already got accepted into early college. So, even though he wouldn't be going to the same school, he still left the same time.

'Alright kids are going, now lunches. ' he grabbed lunch boxes and book bags. 'God. I still feel like a mother. When can I just be a boy? It doesn't bother me, I'm proud of it, but it be fun to wrestle again. ' he thought, packing the little ones lunches and handing them to each one as they came by. He slid there bags on, helping his littlest brother tie his shoes. "What do I not get any thing?" Lee's twin asked. "Will a twenty do?" He offered and his brother brushed him off with a laugh. "I got it Lee, its fine. Don't worry about me." He said, pulling Lee into a hug. The boys stood like that, until the others noticed and made it a group hug.

"Alright boys in the car." His twin said and off everyone went, leaving only Lee and his father. Lee turned to grab his keys and phone. "Thank you for everything you done." He heard his father say, and was pulled into a hug. He felt tears hit his face. 'Not mine, his. He's crying.' Lee looked up at his father. "Dad your crying.." Lee sounded surprised, his father crying, it was rare. He never seen him cry. His father said nothing , just left the room. Lee tied his black sneakers , he also sported blue skinny jeans, and a grey tee shirt. He jogged to his car, his bag already inside. "Alright phone, tell me where to go and don't kill me. Please?" His gps popped up and Lee did as instructed.

Some time later, he reached the school and walked to where everyone was gathered, his bag on his left shoulder. 'I hope I'm not late.' He thought, trying not to stand out , this was his first day at school, fifth day in the town. (Anyone.)

"Wake up, it’s the first day of school! Breakfast is waiting for you downstairs, Cam."

Her mother had let herself into Cami's room and opened up her thick, purple drapes. Cami's chestnut brown eyes fluttered open as the sunlight poured into her room and onto her face. She squinted as she sat up in bed and peered at her mother, who was way too happy in the morning.

"You're awfully cheerful today mom," she sleepily murmured, as she let out a big yawn.
“Well, it’s Azayah’s first day of day-care today and it’s just down the street from where I work,” her mother responded as she left the room to take care of a now awoken Azayah, who was crying from the next room.

Cami let out another big yawn as she grudgingly got out of bed. She was happy to go back to school, she was just tired after staying up late last night to finish a novel. This is what I deserve for being too eager to find out what happens at the end of that book. No regrets though. Camilla hopped into the shower and let the warm water rush over her body as she tried to plan out her day in her head.

She quickly dried herself off and wrapped her towel around her head when she was back in her room. She grabbed a pair of jeans shorts and a black tank top to go with it. She pulled out a long-sleeve, black and red plaid shirt and tied it around her waist as she scanned her tiny closet for her pair of black vans. She opened a small metal box, hidden at the top of her closet and sighed when she realized it was empty. It was what she used to store her weed. She snapped the box close and placed it back in the closet. During the summer, it was much easier for her to acquire weed but now that it’s the beginning of the school year, it’ll be slightly more difficult since she didn’t have a regular dealer nor the time to go look for one in Pauper Court. Just great.

She grabbed her backpack, which she always packed the night before, and headed downstairs. She scarfed down her breakfast, not waiting for her mother to join her and was soon out the door. Issiah may have to find arrangements for his son today too since he’s going back to school as well, better not bother him. She pulled out her phone and shot him a quick text to let him know that she’ll catch the bus instead of hitching a ride as usual.

Now that she was fully awake, Camilla was somewhat ready to take on the day, she was happy that she could go to her heaven, the school’s library, again. She signed up to sing at the school’s opening festival put on by the musicians. She was in no way a musician nor an artist, she never believed she was talented enough to be part of either of those groups, but that never quelled her passion for singing. She didn’t do it too often either, the only place she sang was in church and it wasn’t her favourite place to be. She quickly made a beeline to the office, not wanting to get stuck in the sea of lost freshman, to get her attendance taken as well her arm band for the upcoming festivities.

Cami made her way back outside to the festival area, she scanned the crowd of the few students that had already started to gather until she found a familiar face – or in Hadley’s case, his hair. Cami wasn’t very tall but it’s quite difficult to miss Hadley’s platinum blond coloured mane. She followed him as he moved through the crowd until she was finally able to catch up to him and Tatiana, who Cami was too short to see from afar. “If it isn’t my favourite bibliophile and my favourite Malfoy,” she teased. “So good to see some familiar faces here.”

Tatiana would respond with a roll of her eyes when Hadley finally started talking, choosing to purse her lips at his comment on her choice of wording.

“Well excuse me for trying out new words every once in a while!” She’d respond, giving him a stern look and trying her best not to smile. “I’ll save my new word usage on other people who will actually appreciate it!” She would nod in response to his comment about the sunglasses, glancing around once more before letting out a small snicker at his comment about the freshmen.

“Oh aren’t you their knight in shining armor? Where would they be without you?” She’d respond, falling into step with him once he started walking. “And don’t blame your family for not having sunglasses. Excuses, excuses, excuses!”

With that, Tatiana would take a moment to enjoy the sun shining down on her, taking a deep breath and savoring the feel of the warmth on her skin. Her attention would be grabbed however by the young man walking alongside her and she’d look his way, giving a snort. “Oh, it was wonderful. Every night I snuck out of my house and if I wasn’t at one of the clubs I was at a house party. Plenty of drinking, dancing, and hooking up. You should have been there!” Tati would say, her voice dripping with fake excitement before she let out a small laugh. “Yeah, no. No party animal phase here. My days were spent doing what I love the most- Reading and working on projects. I can leave the partying to the Beloveds and the Misfits. That’s their thing.” Tatiana would roll her eyes at the thought of the other two groups partying day in and day out. She never could understand how people found doing that to be such fun. Didn’t they have better things to do?

Though that thought would come to an end when a slightly familiar face would catch her eye. Speaking of the Beloveds… There was one right there. She thought for a moment, recalling the name. They hadn’t talked too much but when they did Tatiana always enjoyed their conversations. What was his name? It was… Hm…

“Nathaniel!” She’d call out to him as he quickly walked past. She’d give him a smile if he looked her way. “Good morning!” Adding a wave, Tatiana would give her attention back to Hadley, thinking about his question. She’d pause a moment before nodding her head and opening up her book bag to grab her small notebook. Flipping through it, she’d reach a page that held a list, mumbling to herself before making a noise.

“Yes! Though I must admit, this summer was more geared toward reading short stories. But I’m about… Thirteen novels over last summer so I’d say that’s a win. But I don’t think I read more than you.”

A new voice would come into the group, causing a huge smile to flicker onto Tati’s face as she turned to see her best friend. “Camillaaaaaa.” Tati would greet her, automatically pulling her in for a quick hug. “Oh, how I’ve missed you so… Despite the fact that I saw you last week.”

Hugo De La Cruz

We're All Stories In The End

Mood: Calm Location: Font entrance of School Tags: Anyone Anyone

Hugo wasn’t good at waking up, Mr. Sanchez often called him a dead horse rising whenever he finally got up before school. This means he often missed the bus. He woke with a start from a sharp icy feeling on his bare back and he jumped up off of his bed throwing off the ice cube. He whipped around seeing Mr Sanchez almost falling over on himself laughing. “Get up, you've already missed the bus” He walked up with that, leaving Hugo to get dressed.

Hugo rubbed over his face still feeling slightly disoriented still from sleeping so hard. He pulled on clothes, the first ones that he could grab, and then washed his face over the sink. He couldn’t wait for this festival, it would be fun, he could take some pictures of his phone if he saw something he liked. He grabbed his pills and taking the one pill he needed and used water from the tap to swallow down the pill.

“Hugo hurry it up before we’re late for school as well!” Mr. Sanchez yelled from downstairs.

He quickly brushed his teeth before jumping down the stairs and grabbed a granola bar to quickly munch on before following Mr Sanchez out there who was already in his police uniform. “Do we have to go in the cruiser?” HE asked feeling a bit embarrassed by being dropped off by a cop. In his lazy school that would have never gone over well with his classmates.

“If you’d gotten up earlier you could have gone on the bus like everyone else, come on or I’ll be late too”

Hugo slumped his shoulders getting into the passenger seat. The car ride went on in comfort silence, Hugo was playing on his phone while they drove playing a small flashy tapping game on his phone. Finally, his dad was dropping him off and he thanked him for running off to the front office to check in, thanking the gods that there were still kids in the office because it met he wasn’t late just yet. He adjusted his bookbag and waited in line.
