Fantasy Knights of Lore (need four more)

DarknessSama17

A star can't shine without darkness
Lore. A beautiful and massive planet sprawling with life. The magnificent world of Lore is dangerous, filled with wildlife, monsters, criminals and vympiri.

To combat these dangers, The Order of Knights was put into place over two thousand years ago, after the alien invasion that almost drove mankind to extinction. Before long the four great universities were placed in each nation to train and prepare younglings for the life of a knight.

To enter into one of these universities one must be able to manipulate life force to create mana (the magic system). The university teaches you the basics of mana but it is up to the user to find what craft they are best at and hone their skills.

As a knight you will be assigned missions and tasks that can be completed for pay, renown and sometimes rare artifacts. There are many different types of assignments. Some Knights have specialities such as treasure hunter or bounty hunter. Knights are like rock stars and in the world of knights, the path you choice impacts how people view you and the title that is bestowed.

As you may already know, life force is the root of a Knights power for without one cannot conjure mana. All living organisms carry life force. From the individual blades of grass to the animals that are scattered about. Even the dirt itself is alive with the cells used to create it. If you can feel your own life force and use it to gather the surrounding life force to create mana then you are well on your way to becoming a knight. Now a knight is only as strong as their reserve of life force. Lifeforce is like stamina but if you run out to ignite into flames and untimely die. Some are born with high amounts of life force but just like the body can be train, so can the life force. By training your body and using up lifeforce until you have just enough to keep from combustion then you meditated and feel for your life force. From there it's like a game of tug o war as you try to stretch your life force further which adds on to your reserves when it replenishes. This requires focus. Even the most skilled Knights will only succeed a little in two hours.

The next step will be crafting. Craft is what is called when mana is changed or "crafted" into something. The most basic and necessary craft for any Knight is the mana exoskeleton. It is after this that the more challenging crafts come. Fire can be crafted into weapons or even fired from rifles. Wind can be used to fly and much more. Their are many different kinds of crafts. From elements to transformation. The family you are born into heavily affects your traits and skills. Some family even have crafts unique only to them.

A Knight knows not to be unprepared. The basic tools for a knight are listed below.

Holopad - a tool given to universities students. They keep these throughout their life as it comes with piles of information. It can search the web, make holographic calls, get assignments and check out the Knights bingo dashboard.

Nurolink - using the latest technology and mana, this gives a unit the ability to communicate via telepathy.

Any Knight worth their coin knows a good arsenal can be the difference between life and death.

A Knights weapons can decide the outcome a battle. Weapons can be bought traded for or crafted. Knights use weapons that suit their skills. Swords, rifles, pistols, axes and much more. In today's high-tech world, weapons are made to untiize mana. They have crystals that can absorb mana and even fire elemental attacks. Some monster hunter use monster skin as they can add special properties.

Armor works the same way. Using exotic materials can add to one's mana exoskeleton. Minerals or monster skins can be used to craft armor.

Gear is given at the universities but some have family gear passed down. Others wait until they can enter the advance course to buy and upgrade their gear.

Ranks
Before we get into ranks let's go over how mana exoskeletons work. A mana exoskeleton enhances muscles and increase physical stats. Speed, strengths, and durability. Other attributes can be increased with training and accessories. A mana exoskeleton can be honed for a increase in attributes but that requires more mana which requires more life force. If a exoskeleton takes too much damage it shatters. It consumes more life force to create another. (Note: it does not make one invincible or immune to damage.)

Officer Knight - basically foot soldiers. The weakest in the ranks. Usually this rank is given to those who did not gratitude early and become apprenticed under a higher ranking Knight. They are usually placed in squads under Divine knights. The strongest officer knight mana exoskeletons can withstand small explosions, fast enough to just break the sound barrier and can lift little over half a ton. They have little skill for any craft. With time and effort they can become master knights.

Master Knight - Master Knights are usually theose who gratitude after their second year at a university and are appreciated under a high ranking Divine Knight or a Holy Knight. A high ranking Master Knight can tank several hits from rockets, can reach nearly lightspeed, and can lift over two tons. Master Knights usually have one or two crafts they excell in. This is were Knights began getting recognition and can even earn titles.

Divine Knight - these Knights are powerful. The strongest of them can move twice as fast as light, strong enough to live up to five Tons and survive a several nukes. They can master up to three to four crafts. They take on apprentices and even lead a squad of Officer Knights.

Holy Knight - The most powerful of Knights. They are three times faster than light, can shatter a small moon and can tank a barrage of nukes. Some can push transformations a step further. Others can create their own unique element or craft. These Knights have mastered multiple crafts. They don't usually have a squad but they do take apprentices. They will lead platoons.

Hello everyone. I am trying to reboot this. This is a series I've started with the first book completed. I'm hoping to have fun and look for new characters to add into the later books.

For anyone interested I want to know where you'd like to start.

As second year university students we'd start during our third month in the advanced course. Well just be getting our first assignment. With eleven months left till the evaluation and recruitment process. Of course their will be a few timeskips.

The second option is we start as Knights. Some can be newbie Master Knights while others play as Divine Knights and choose apprentices. Depending on how many players we get I'll allow one or two Holy Knights.

I have a plot for both so you guys just choose where you'd like to start. Majority rules.

I'll post starter techniques for crafts. Also depending on how many players we get I may allow some to be in criminal gangs, rebels, Darkness Tamers or even vympiri.
