( ! ) On the beach stood an odd but seemingly powerful being, watching them with curious posture. It wasn't close enough to be hit but it wasn't too far to be seen. The four small pikes orbiting around it's head begin to glow blue as the pyramid makes a 180 degree turn. The extreme heat began to fade away, as extreme cold came back around the corner. The air felt heavy, almost too thick to inhale. Gravity felt much heavier within the area, light voices began to swim around within the heads of the students. The water no longer had traces of ice, despite the suddenly cold temperature. The only place that seemed to have ice was above Samuel, as if blocking him from swimming to the surface on his own. For Lucas and Alexander, the temperature began to drop rapidly once more. The being points at the group, summoning the beginning of a blizzard. "You are not welcome. Leave." Celosia, Frozen Beach, Afterlife (!)
Celosia ex machina
Kumii Kumii (it's a long post so just skip to the second to last paragraph if you don't want to read it all)

So the whole crew had indeed died. Tragic, yet unavoidable, such is the fragility of life. But if they were truly dead Celosia had to wonder if there were more like them floating around this island. Was this island home to the long dead or the recently deceased? If it did indeed hold others than where would they be? Deeper in the forest, up in the mountains? Perchance, if Celosia were to go into those mountains, would she find Shara waiting for her?

Her time to ponder these questions was limited. She could feel the temperature rising, and with it the ice below her melting. She gave Andrew a tap on a shoulder and pointed towards the beach, insinuating that maybe they should be heading that way. With a hop a skip and a jump Celosia safely traversed the ice and made it onto the non-melting sand. However it seemed others were not as lucky. The ice quickly gave way underneath many others, Celosia watched as her classmates struggled to get onto the beach. Yet as much as Celosia wanted to rush in to help something else caught her attention. An odd figure now stood on the beach with them, a being that certainly wasn't here when they first arrived. With it's arrival the temperature lowered, the air felt heavy, voices filled Celosia's head and the need for an aspirin overwhelmed her. Was this newcomer friend or foe? Regardless triangle head could wait a few moments, there were still a few students who hadn't made it to the beach yet. One such student seemed to be suck under a patch of ice.

Water separated the two, it was too deep to simply wade through and swimming wasn't an option here. Celosia ran to the very end of the beach, once she was at the waters edge she used Blink Overdrive to increase her jump distance. In a single bound she closed the distance between herself and the patch of ice. As she flew through the air, only a few seconds before making contact with the ice, Celosia hit herself in the stomach. She wasn't sure if her base power alone would be enough, so she would use a Counter Smash to break through. The ice bellow gave way, shattering like glass. Yet almost as soon as Celosia broke the ice it began to reform. With the same hand she used to punch the ice Celosia grabbed the boy in the water, she pulled him up while slipping forward towards the water, essentially switching places. All in one fluid motion Celosia threw the boy towards the beach and fell into the water.

The ice grew back above her, trapping her under. To make matters worse the ice was slowly growing above her, pushing her deeper and deeper. Normally she would be fine for at least five minutes but because of the gut punch she gave herself only a few moments ago Celosia estimated that she had three minutes before everything became significantly worse. The current situation didn't present Celosia with many options, however one foolishly stupid idea did cross her mind. She put her palms flat on the ice above her and pushed herself off with as much force as she could muster. The bottom didn't look to far down, and once her feet touched down on a solid surface she could begin her counter attack against the ice.

Xander

Beach | Frozen Island

Xander flexed his hands and fingers. Hearing Austriana's explanation pieced a few things together.

For one thing, he knew he shouldn't have been alive. Austriana's explanation not only confirmed it, but solidified his reasoning. He should be dead. Most of them, should be dead, period. The evidence was clear from the water he'd expunged from his lunges but now that he heard it, he could finally believe it.

They were in another realm, entirely. And it didn't even terrify him. Unnerved, sure. Excited, undoubtedly. From leaving home to venturing into the outside world, to an entirely different realm of existence. Few would believe him back home if he told them. A lot more would shun his sights as being nothing more than hyperbole.

With a wince he tried lifting himself up from the ground as the temperature readjusted itself and his body too regulated to match it. Within two minutes he was wobbly getting to his feet but by then the ice had already started melting. Thankfully, Austriana had swooped in and carried him and Anzu to safety. Sadly, the shock of suddenly being picked up had prevented him from saying a word to her, even after her departure for another.

Landing on his soles and feeling the warmth through his shoes, Xander felt his body grow less taut, his muscles less restrained and his body feeling more free. A flash of movement caught his eye and he watched as the horned female rushed to the aid of one of their colleagues, at the very same time a voice made it's way into Xander's ears.

"You are not welcome. Leave."

The cold shifted the atmosphere like a bass drop shifted beats, rhythm, and volume. From warm to cold, like a thermometer, his body regulated and adjusted to suit the needs of its host, but for Alexander the process was nauseating. Nauseating and painful.

Cold did not bode well for Karmellions. Cold, meant death in their past. Winter was a hated season in the few parts of Karmellion territory where it existed and Xander, was no stranger to the chilly side of his home's cold seasons. This was different though. This was something else entirely. This was a storm.

And he could feel it from that thing's very words.

(!) Xander wouldn't take let it happen. Not again. Their arrival here was a wake up call. If he didn't do something to stop this thing from creating a real blizzard, the thing he'd only ever heard of but never truly seen- then either they would all die or at worst most would get severe hypothermia.

His chances fared worse. He could already feel the tension in his muscles taking hold, the lack of feeling in his hands and face as he bent his knees, leaned forward, and kept his eyes focused on his target. Whipping his tail out for balance, Xander leaned and stood poised. A hand slipped into a hidden holster in his now ruined jacket and withdrew a bowie knife.

Then with a sudden lurch forward Xander glided across the ground. Every time his foot touched the icy ground, several cracks appeared and the ice of his footprint shattered like glass.

As he rushed forward Xander noticed some form of movement from his perspective. A boy was flying somewhere nearby. Looked like Lucas, Xander ignored Lucas and turned his attention back to their assailant. At the rate he was moving and the way the temperature was changing he could feel his breath becoming ragged. There was no chance he'd have enough time to make a comeback if his next few attacks failed. If the cold didn't paralyze him, exerting himself like this would certainly do the job.

Three yards away and Xander could feel his muscles begin to stiffen even more. Cracks appeared around the back of his hands, peppering purple, blue, yellow, and green colors, scales, as those small cracks traveled all the way up to his forearms.

The intent to kill was in his eyes. But in truth Xander only meant to maim. He needed to disrupt this thing's attention. Disrupt the focus it was using to create the blizzard and manipulate the weather. Killing wouldn't do anything, for all he knew they were the intruders and from Austriana's explanation that only justified this thing's actions.

Six feet away and Xander forced his now numb arms to move as natural as natural could be. All he needed to do was deliver one swipe, enough to startle but not enough to actually touch it. At the speed he was going, if he did use the knife and if it did make contact it would kill this thing in seconds. So Xander chose the smarter route.

He chose to break concentration just as he appeared in front of their new guest. Knife ready, breathe heavy, eyes determined. It was do or die.

And if he didn't do, he knew they all might just die.

Anzu remembers fear. Fear like nothing else she'd ever experienced in her life. Fear that clutched her heart and squeezed, hoping to make the blackened object pop. Fear that choked her more than the onslaught of water ever could hope to. The only thing was that whereas the water filled her lungs, expanded them beyond their limits and ruptured them, the fear filled something deep inside of her, overflowed the space with it as it cascaded through her like a waterfall. It was the fear of knowing that the very thing she was most of afraid of, was going to happen and there was nothing she could do about it. When people died, weren't they supposed to see their life flash before their eyes like some sort of grainy film reel? As some sort of closing scene? A list of every mistake, every good decision, every wonderful and terrible moment? A "You did it! Game over!" kind of vision? Anzu had always wondered when she'd ended lives, what they saw and thought about when they were dying, when their breath was simply a wisp of air, pushing past their pale lips. Where did they go?
And it was always they. They died. They were killed. They experienced death. Not Anzu. Never Anzu.
So, why did what just happened feel like a completion to some sickening self-prophecy? And why did she see nothing but darkness?
If Anzu tasted death, was forced to drink it in in full, she fairly certain she wasn't supposed to wake up afterwards.

Sleep paralysis. That was the only word she could think of, when her conscious returned but not the use of her body. Her body just wasn't caught up with her brain yet. And it was incredibly frustrating. Anzu heard their voices, the voices of some of those on the ship. Relief washed over her. That meant they all survived right? Some poor sap decided to grab Anzu and toss her on one of those stupid yellow life rafts and here she was, alive, and well, and alive....

Except the ground was freezing. Anzu vaguely remembers recalling the way the sun kissed her face when she was on the deck of the ship. It was a degree more than comfortable, she did remember. Yet, Anzu felt the cold beneath her, the ice stinging her fingertips and cheek, biting her skin and she wanted off of it. She might have shivered if she could move. The only thing she managed at the time was a soft moan and a twitch of an eyebrow. A few moments later, something soft scooted up close to her. The fur was thick and emanate warmth, yet the breathing was shallow. It was hurt. But keeping her warm. How sweet. Maybe it planned to have her for dinner. Quaint. If only she wasn't spooning what she could only describe as a giant teddy bear that probably planned to stu her up later and serve her to the tinier versions of whatever it actually happened to be.

Time passed. Maybe she slipped back into unconscious again for a moment or more, but cold, tentative fingers drew her attention back to what was happening around her. Someone wrapped bandages or cloth around her head and hand. The kindness was alarming. The only reason they were kind to her was because nobody knew who she was or what she done, but still... It appealed to something deeper, it made that black heart beat and yearn to show gratitude, to get up and say something. Anything. To either slay or hug the giant fluffy thing covering half of her.
Please, let me get up!

Still, yet, despite her frustration and rapidly returning consciousness, it felt like the gravity was ten times stronger and it took more energy than she had to rise. Consciousness dipped and returned and she was in the air, wind on her skin, much warmer than it had been. Surely it couldn't have been that long since she was laying beside the large animal and the one playing nurse. Some other part of her vaguely recognized the feeling of being in the air and knew they were flying, even if the wings were not her own. She remembered the girl, from the boat, speaking with others before Anzu brushed past them and headed towards the kitchen. Was it her that now carried Anzu and dropped her off on something much warmer, softer, and grainier than the icy ground she'd only just remembered being on. Sand. It felt almost like a day on the beach. But her head hurt and her body protested. The atmosphere was the opposite of a cozy tropical setting. It was almost too hot. And she heard yelling. Commotion.

Wake up!

Anzu groaned loudly and her eyelids began to flutter. She pushed against the thick gray wall in her mind, shoving, and managed to open her eyes fully. The light was blinding and she almost closed them again, but decided she'd made too much progress just to sink back into sleep. She pushed against the sand with her hands, lifting her body which felt like concrete blocks, and vaguely registered the torn fabric wrapped around her wrist was the clothing that, not Clone, but the other in the food storage area had been wearing. Were they okay? Clone? And him? Her eyes scanned the area, she saw what appeared to be a polar bear not too far from her and she crawled her way over to it. It was strange that a creature like him would be here, let alone cozying up to her earlier, but she still looked down upon the weak animal kindly and gently stroked its head.

Her eyes moved back up, searching for the others. She saw a couple standing nearby, looking lost and startled. Anzu herself had no idea where they even were. But she did not see Clone nor the other guy. Not until she looked closing at a figure racing in the distance. One with the same beautifully colored tail she'd seen waving what felt like only a couple hours prior. And he was racing towards a creature she'd never seen before, ready to attack. What was it?

"What's going on?"

Samuel Scientia
Sam panicked for a minute as the ice began to reform over him but he quickly calmed himself, saving every ounce of air he could, Welp this is how I die. Drowned. There are worse ways to go down. Death by chocolate. Or death by Titanic references. His perspective was quickly changed when he was pulled from the ice and saved by some girl. He was too tired to get up fully but he got up on his knees and rested for a bit, "Well shit, who knew the male could become the damsel in distressed. And it seems the rescuer has become the rescuee. Rescuee? That's a word right?" He shrugged, "Hey!" He leaned over the girl in the water covered by the ice, "You can't die now! I haven't repaid you!" When he said that he flash backed to a previous time...

Before the Academy
"Haha! Give us your money, freak!" A couple of bullies pushed a young looking Sam around in school.

"Hey, if you can't insult someone properly, then don't do it at all." He retaliated, that just made the bullies mad. One drew back a fist, ready to punch. Sam slipped a pencil past them and warped to it, the bullies' hand hit the locker behind him, hard.

"Oh, you ass, now you're dead!" They both came at him, something that day snapped and he suddenly had tons of courage. This was when he began to use his power dangerously.

Sam warped from point to point, delivering punches and kicks accordingly. The bullies lay on the ground, bloodied and beaten, "You can't die now! I haven't repaid you!" He mocked them, luckily for them, a teacher happened by and took Sam to the principal's office. He was expelled later that same day.

(Don't have to read the Flashback if you don't feel like it. A bit darker then his other posts, i've also decided he'll break the fourth very minorly, making real life movie and game references. Nothing Meta or anything.)

As Alexander stepped in front of the being's second face, it reacted immediately. The pyramid made a full 180 degree turn, making the temperature suddenly match that of the Sahara Desert. The four pikes glow a bright yellow as the being itself scatters into yellow orbs of light, passing over Alexander and reforming back into the being behind him. That ability coated Alexander with the current temperature everyone else was feeling, like a coat. While behind Alexander it extends it's finger, pressing it to the back of his head.

Suddenly, countless visions and sounds seemed to phase through Alexander's mind. Birthday parties, news forecasts, rambunctious raspy voices, people dying from the cold, dead bodies withered from the heat, and most of all a legion of children marching towards a giant hooded figure. Once the vision of the children walking towards the open armed giant emerged within the mind of Alexander, a shrill scream rang through his head. It was a mix of a human voice, an overheated tea pot, and a whistle. In a flash, the vision snapped to thousands of the children, floating lifeless within a sea of blood before the giant. Symbols began to appear, bending and seemingly tearing themselves apart by how much they fidgeted.

The being removes it's finger from Alexander's head, ending the visions and sounds but leaving behind the searing pain within his brain. The heat coat left Alexander halfway through the visions. The ice melted once more, it has done enough damage to get it's message across. "I shall warn you once more, leave this place. It's secrets do not welcome you. Place your trust in Igsly, if you wish to die." Cracks began to spread around the beings body as it's head turned once, causing the pikes to glow green. Suddenly the temperature was sunny but not intense, as if a gentle spring had come along. The cracks had fully reached across every inch of the beings body. Without notice, the being shattered into several pieces, turning into green balls of light that disappear into the now blue sky. Xander

Beach | Frozen Island

When their new stranger phased through him, Alexander closed his eyes and waited for death.

Instead he got something else entirely. The reaction to his action wasn't something Alexander had really expected possible.

How was he supposed to know this guy could turn into light, phase through him and then reassemble like that was normal. It just goes to show, don't rush in to what you don't know.

Coated in heat, Alexander struggled to move. The scales surrounding his forearms faded away into regular light green, bright blue, and yellow freckled dots. as the cold that filled the air now mixed with heat throwing his regulation system for a loop he froze, unable to move, due to nausea, tension, and utter surprise.

What the hell did he just do to me? He thought as he tried to will his adjusting body to turn. But before he could even do that, his world was full of darkness. Darkness that soon gave way to something else entirely.

For a good ten seconds that felt like ten minutes, Alexander saw nothing, heard nothing, but still could feel the cold in the air give way to this new bizarre sense of heat. He could still feel his chest heave in and out for air over the exertion he'd just put his body through, but the fact he couldn't see or hear the others but still feel everything unnerved him and he tried to use his tail to strike the hand that touched the nape of his neck. But he couldn't, his body wouldn't listen.

He was trapped...till the noise suddenly came rushing in all at once. Hundreds of voices, thousands of voices all came at once. All speaking at the same time, at different speeds, at different rates- it was aggravating and it was starting to give him a headache-- a migraine, his brain couldn't begin to process. He felt his already clenched teeth, grind together in reality, felt the jolts of electricity as his teeth ground even more as the pressure in his head built but aside from the pain he couldn't make any other action except listen, then watch as the visions poured in. Celebrations, parties of the past, future, maybe even present poured in, people talked about the weather, people talked about the dead. Xander got to see those very dead, die. From the cold, frozen husks with wide open eyes that stared forever into the sky to the burnt dry lifeless corpses that would never get the chance to take a sip of cold refreshing water.

He got to see it all. In the span of seconds he got to see so many deaths, more than his training for a soldier or merc had ever prepared him for. And it disturbed him, but would not break him.

If only it ended there. The worst came with the children, marching to the beat of the voices still muttering about in his head. They wandered across sand, desert, and road, towards the giant in the hood ready to face a battle that would surely mean their end.

The next thing he knew he was screaming-- or maybe he wasn't. Alexander wasn't sure if he was the one screaming at them to stop or if it was the voices in his head, but the scream was a warning that wouldn't go heard. Because seconds later he got to see a world of dead, the bodies of thousands- of children, floating in a river of their own blood. While the giant watched the bodies float, just as he was helpless to watch it all as well.

He felt his fingers twitch and his grip tightened on the knife. If he could, he'd stab. In a vain attempt he tried to move his arm, but it wouldn't listen. Trapped to watch he'd couldn't end the suffering, just as those symbols were only continuing his. The way they turned and burned and reformed was maddening.

It was like he was on a trip for the first time in his life. And he hated every second of this drug called illusion. But just as soon as it came, it all ended. And Xander's vision returned.

"I shall warn you once more, leave this place. It's secrets do not welcome you. Place your trust in Igsly, if you wish to die."

Xander felt control of his own body return. But instead of attacking his body, tired from effort, mind exhausted from the visions, he fell on his knees- body limp, and merely stared blankly onto the wet ground.

Everything hurt. But nothing compared to what he had seen. He tried to will his body to move, but it wouldn't. So he did the next sensible thing possible. He lurched forward and wretched into a clean patch of sand. The tears stung his eyes, the pain hit his bones, and the feeling of uselessness hit home.

When he was done vomiting, Xander heathed a heavy breath, filled his lungs with air grabbed a handful of snow, wiped his mouth then forced himself to stand and turn then stumble back towards the others. "Ha-ha-ave to..Haph t-to tell them..." he said in raspy voice with eyes glazed as if he were still in a daze. Unsure if where he was, was even real or if he was still fighting that monster. He didn't reach five steps before he tripped on nothing, crashed on one knee, dropped his knife fell forward into the ground and laid there. Soaking up the pain, the warmth, the cold-- and trying to calm his ragged nerves. Only for unconsciousness to slowly take him away.

After Austrianna dropped Clone off, she took to the skies once more. She saw the being assault Alexander and leave directly afterwards, leaving a mess of Alexander. Others were still out in the water, which would be an easy swim in this situation. The water was calm now and the ice was completely gone. For those in desperate need, like Castiel and Samuel, they were far too out of it to fight the sea.

Austrianna descends from the sky, landing beside Anzu. She drops the stone, her shield, and her sword beside Anzu. "Watch those, I'll explain later. Unless you'd like to help." Without a second thought or gaze, Austrianna takes to the skies, leaving sand in the air. Without hesitation, she activates her ultimate, ending up with Odin's blessing. Two ravens end up in the sky beside her, keeping the pace as she dives for Castiel. While she focuses on Castiel and Samuel since he's close, she would need a raven to dive within the sea to locate Celosia. The second raven would fly circles around the location of Celosia underneath the water, attracting the attention of others in case they decided to help. Austrianna hoped Celosia could hold her breath long enough since she would have to make two trips to come assist her, in case she couldn't get out herself and no one came to her aid. As Austrianna grabs Samuel and Castiel, her ravens go to work, carrying out her exact plans as anxiety built within her stomach in secrecy. ( I did in fact use an online wheel for her ultimate. )
