Fantasy Kefnir Academy & The Gates of Limbo: Part One

Light

M.A.R.C.Y.
Under the order of King Suis, the Gradius kingdom established both a military and an academy dedicated towards guarding the Gates of Limbo. For a vast amount of undocumented years, the Gradius kingdom has feared what rests behind the gates, Cabravians. Cabravians are known to be a ruthless species that preyed upon humanity long ago. Proof behind such events ever happening have been lost through time. Only hidden documents held by the current king, show proof that such a species still pose a threat. Everyone with an ability or potential are allowed to take the Kefnir entrance exam. Kefnir Academy is a prestigious establishment in which dull rocks are polished to become elite diamonds. These elite graduates are the force guarding humankind from the Cabravians if they ever leave the gates. For the gates won't hold forever and every wall has it's cracks.

The 198th class of Kefnir Academy had been sailing for only an hour upon a wooden ship. Their destination is Kefnir island, the training camp for graduates. Their reason for being there is simple, before attending the school, orientation camp is a must. The current weather seemed calm, despite the suggestive gusts of wind. This would be the classes first step towards the real world, towards the truth of the gates. Austrianna wanted to be outside on the deck, experiencing the gentle sunlight would be a relaxing opener to the upcoming challenges ahead. With her right hand resting upon the hilt of her sword and her left hand hanging at her side, Austrianna left her temporary room and made her way to the deck. Once the sunlight hit her skin she had no choice but to deeply inhale. She was wrong, the sky and the air it granted her made it so the sunlight wasn't the only outdoor attraction. A simple smile began to form upon her face. It didn't take long before she found herself gazing at the horizon. She couldn't be the only one seeing this, Castiel would need to see this with his own eyes as well.

The thought of Castiel being here actually made her smile fade once she thought on it. The fact that he was here meant that he would be involved with the military, a lifestyle she doesn't want him to live. If she could convince him to go home she would, but with the current situation, she doubts it would work. This left a saddened expression upon her facial features and body language. It would be completely noticeable that she wasn't happy to anyone who made a simple glance in her direction.

Castiel

Castiel was laying on his bed, in his own temporary room. He was staring up at the ceiling, bored out of his mind; it had only been an hour or so, but to Castiel it felt like it'd been days already. He didn't exactly like long trips, especially if they had nothing really interesting to look at. All that was in the ocean, was water, water, and some more water. And that sort of thing wasn't exactly the most interesting thing to him. He thought about trying to make conversation with others on the ship, but he wasn't exactly a social butterfly. So he decided that it would be best to leave the socializing until they were on dry land and had stuff to do and talk about. Castiel groaned as he sat up and swung his legs off of the bed as he stretched his arms out above his head; He decided that he'd better find something to do quickly before he died of boredom, even if it was just helping out with something small on the ship.

He stood up and started to make his way out of the room. He wondered around the ship, making notes of the layout, whilst simultaneously imagining how he'd handle it if pirates were to attack and board the ship, and more importantly how he'd be the hero and save the day. Eventually though, Castiel found himself upon the deck as his pirate fantasy coming to an end. Soon after he spotted his sister and started to make his way over to her.
"Hey, Austrianna" Castiel smiled as he approached her, though his smile soon faded as he noticed that she looked upset. "Hey.. what's wrong? You look kinda down.."

"1..2..3..4" Lucas' words echoed through his cabin as he lay on his back doing situps, trying to pass the time. "5..6..7..8" His focus was on the cabin door, which was wooden and looked like it could kill a man with the number of splinters it could give. "9..10..ow!" Lucas sat up and rubbed his side, pulling the needle-like piece of wood that had just stabbed him out of his side. "That's the 5th one today man!" The long trip he was set upon upset Lucas, for he hated being contained, especially with nothing to do.

While rubbing his side, looking at the death machine people called a door, he decided he would go out and try to make some company. He stood up, opened the door, and took in all the fresh air that was thrown at him. It felt so good, he couldn't help but smile. Lucas threw on his black beanie and set off for the main deck, which was bound to have at least one person to talk to. On his way there, he decided to take in the view of the ocean that the boat was set upon. The waves and the glimmering patterns of the water mesmerized him enough to draw his attention away from finding other people to speak to. He just stood there smiling, hands in pockets, with the wind in his face.

Once Castiel approached her, everything about her current display changed. She stood with no sense of sadness, only nervous energy. She did want to address the situation but not in such a public area. For now she'd have to dissuade him in being concerned. Her eyes scanned the area for anything to use, hitting Lucas eventually. Austrianna brings attention towards Lucas by locking a nervous gaze upon him. She lifts her right hand up and slightly reaches out for him, taking a step forward. Before completing the step, Austrianna steps back and retracts her hand in a dejected manner. Her eyes sadly retreat to the floor on her left, turning her head and body along with it. She makes occasional glances his way to finalize her act. Once she was sure her desire to converse with Lucas was clear, she turned towards Castiel, eyes asking for help. If she had to make it seem like she was sad over being to shy to approach a potential ally, so be it.

It was right when Lucas was walking away when he heard voices behind him. As he turned around he saw Castiel and Austrianna speaking to one another, and Austrianna was seemed to be beckoning him over to their location. Lucas was glad that he had found people to actually speak to.

Lucas was always one to make friends. He hated being lonely and avoided loneliness like the plaque. So, being in a place like this wasn't that bad for him, for it opened up many encounters and chances to meet some really cool people and get to know them more. Lucas loved helping his friends with their personal issues and insecurities. Lucas lived for his friends, and he'd give up so much to make them happy.

This also came into play when he saw Austrianna's face, which seemed quite distraught. Wanting to know what was wrong, he walked over and decided to ask her himself. He heard Castiel speak her name earlier, so he knew how to address her. He sat down on a nearby box and asked with a smile, "Hey, Austrianna, right? What's wrong, are you hot or something?"

Danella Manchester
Danella wanted to sleep the day away. She preferred travel by anything, but sea. The constantly sway out the boat made her heightened senses a skill she had not received at birth. Usually car, planes, and even roller skates are a mode of transportation that she can power through and be fine. Boats on the other hand, were different and affected her in a way she could not adapt to. Blueberry and cream oatmeal inched its way up her esophagus as she drank water to desperately keep it down. It was a day she wished she had eaten anything else. She knew she was going on a ship but still decided that oat meal, a dish she had trouble eating due to its texture, was part of this day's daily nutrition.

She had reached her limit. Panic swelled in her chest as she stumbled up to the docks and over the edge to release the oatmeal that was clawing its way to freedom via the ocean. After her stomach finished emptying all its contents Danella wiped her face and sat down, her back against the wood. Her body swayed lazily with the boat, slightly off beat making her nausea a persistent nuisance. Saltwater filled her pores and flooded her nose providing her a slight sliver of comfort she worked to focus onto. She enjoyed the smell of the ocean and how it was a pretty shade of blue making her an avid fan of beaches. The soft, warm, grainy sand pleasured her feet and the sun felt nice on her skin. She enjoyed the sun on the boat but the sensation was engulfed in sickness. She did not want to be seen by the others right now, but she knew that if she were to return to her room she would be making another visit to the docks to use its access to the ocean. She absolutely did not want to throw up in the boat and would clean it out of shame of what she had done.

Samuel Scientia
Samuel lied upon a bed tossing a dagger he had found into the ceiling and warping to it, after grabbing it he would comically falling back onto the bed, "God damn, how long has it-" he sat up and whacked his head against a low hanging piece of wood, "FUCK!" He rubbed his head, "Damn... I even saw that as I lied down.. why did I forget it?" He place the dagger in a sheath and kept it for himself. He slowly got up off the bed and made his way topside, "Are we there yet?" He said to himself. He saw a girl hurl over the side of the boat and walked up to her, "That distance though. Not a big sailor are-" As he was walking he tripped on a stray nail, he fell and landed head first on the wood, "AHH!" he lay face first on the wood next to Danella, "So, not a big sailor are ya?" He said, his face still on the wood, at this point he just decided to accept his fate.

Once Lucas approached her, things were less awkward. She didn't have an objective with this boy, she just wanted to avoid the question Castiel threw at her. Lucas seemed to pick up on her name from Castiel, if not then his knowledge would be concerning. Despite this, she'd have to focus on the odd circumstances later. Austrianna closes her eyes, shakes her head, and displays a warm smile as if telling Lucas, no but thank you for your concern. Austrianna extends her hand towards Lucas, offering a handshake while nodding her head forward and flashing her eyebrows upwards. It was almost as if she wanted him to exchange names while shaking her hand.

Closia, on the ship's deck
In need of interaction
What was more irritating than being suck on a glorified canoe, sailing down rough waters, rocking from side to side? A boat that is filled with similar rooms, samey hallways and bland architecture. A boat that felt far too crammed, for it's own good, packed like sardines with a bunch of strangers. What could be worse: simple, being forced to sit down on the deck of the self same boat.

It takes a lot to get under Celosia's skin, but this boat had managed to push all the right buttons. It just felt so small and there was nothing to do for such a long time. No open spaces for running, nor trees for climbing, nor rocks for punching. How was one supposed to keep entertained on a ship like this? She wasn't even permitted to see how far she could throw the cannonballs. Keeping her sanity on this boat was an ordeal to be sure. Celosia became restless, she couldn't take doing nothing anymore. So she fell into a low position and began to furiously do squats on the deck.

Just as she broke 300 squat the captain approached her, telling her to "cut some slack on the ol' girl" and right as Celosia was about to ask what he meant, she saw that the boards under her feet had cracks in them, and so did the boards in the immediate area around Celosia. The ashamed Oni could have sworn she was being careful as to avoid any damages, though truth be told she did black out around squat 135 and just let her body take control. Regardless of what the reason was the captain was still cross and even though Celosia gave a sincere apology punishment was still to be dealt.

So Celosia found herself forced to sit down on a long bench for the remainder of the trip, a fate as horrible as death. She couldn't keep her leg from shaking, causing the floor to creak and crack under her. It was unbearable, to remain seated like this, it was the worst kind of torture for a girl like Celosia. Yet she tried as hard as she could to keep from displaying how miserable she truly felt. As people passed by she smiled and waved, putting on a cheery front and making sure that others didn't know of the state of disarray she was truly in.

'Please, someone, anyone, help me!'

~

The gentle lap of the waves on the old, weathered wood was most prominent among the other sounds around her. Lazy seagulls squawking at the grouping of students on the ship, hoping for a stray morsel dropped from an afternoon lunch or an offering from someone snacking on the deck. The creak of the boat as it slid through the water towards its ever evasive destination. Soft sounds of murmurs, mostly anticipation and small talk.

How... dull.

Anzu was perched on the slender bow of the boat, a beam of wood stretching out of the tip half her width. Her legs were crossed and she was staring with a partially disgusted look out onto the sunny horizon. It was too bright. Everything was too bright. The water. The sky. The faces of her future classmates. It was physically painful to look at all of these things, all of them made her frown and want to shield her eyes from them. All of them made her sure that if she looked at either for too long she might grow ill or blind to it. Happiness like this... Unequivocal, ignorant happiness...

It was disgusting.

Her long deep red hair blew around her like the sails, catching the wind, but it took her nowhere. Only closer to a place she wasn't even sure she belonged at. Could she remember what it was that lead her to be on this wretched old boat? Those faces... No, if the faces of the strangers smiling here made her nauseous, thinking about them would make her keel over. Yet, even thinking about them brought every memory and every emotion surging back to her like it was happening below her as she watched, the visions dancing in the waves. The face of a man, a young adult human with worn glasses and wispy hair. Whose eyes were always hooded and who had dark circles permanently imprinted below them. Who never smiled until he died with her knife in his throat. Whose greatest happiness was to die as he choked on the cold metal and his own blood. Or the girl, some human-flora hybrid species who preferred to live in nature with hair a far brighter red than her own. Who was always smiling and who never knew the world for its darkness but actively sought out every tiny light and every silver lining. Who told Anzu as she killed her and her family, that she forgave her before her heart stopped. That the girl never blamed the demon for what she did and was grateful that she got to know her anyway, even if it had ended the way it did.

Anzu had been gripping a part of the bow so tightly, she torn off a junk of wood as the splinters riddled her palm. It hardly felt like anything, maybe the tickle of air brushing against her skin but she winced anyway, looking down at the small forest of broken wood in her hand. What good, did she think, came from thinking about them? It only hurt now. It was one of those silent things that she need never look at, that she bury away in a box somewhere but always knew existed, so that it only motivated her. Yet her subconscious stubbornly clung to these memories, to these people whose lives should mean nothing to her, yet she finds herself grasping at them like straws, wanting to draw them back, to change the outcome, to stop the things that they never deserved but it means nothing to wish for the impossible. Instead she could only change. She could stop taking contractors. After all, it was why she was here. The guilt was all encompassing. Sometimes it was all she felt. No amount of self medication, of drinking herself stupid or knocking herself out alleviated the pain and guilt. Sometimes she figured she should wallow in it. It was deserving of such a vile creature wasn't it?

Most of all Anzu hated herself for craving her old life, her old ways, the blood on her hands long dried and washed away. She craved the pain of others, the death... It haunted her. It sickened her. This part of her was driven deeper than the pain and guilt. Her core. Her black heart. Where it wouldn't... No, it couldn't hurt anyone anymore. Or so she hoped.

Being here was supposed to make up for anything and everything she did, even if she knew deep inside, it would pale in comparison to what she needed to repay it with but never could. Originally, she figured it'd be best to kill herself, to end the evil before it consumed another but her own selfish cowardness prevented that. Death was terrifying and no matter how many times she wished she would meet it, she never could.
Would this be how she felt for the rest of her existence?

The sounds of louder talking drew her roughly from her thoughts as if all of the negativity flew down a drain to nestle there before it slowly crept back up again. Anzu turned her head and saw a small group of students gathered on the deck. The demon's eyes hungrily moved over them talking, the interaction, the sweet solace of company... And she was jealous. It burned in her stomach, the flames licked her throat. She swallowed and turned her head away as she stood from her perch on the wood before leaping back onto the deck. Her heeled shoes clicked on the wood as she briskly passed the group, two males and a girl, and moved back inside of the boat. There had to be food, water, something on this boat she could distract herself with, consume, something that might wash away, wash over the dark emotions inside of her. She hated herself. Hated people. And hated her newly acquired love for them.

Disgusting.

Andrew wasn't sure what to make of the whole situation; despite only being on the ship for only an hour, he was starting to get somewhat...annoyed. Not that the idea of anger was something completely alien to him, he's struggled with it for his entire life. It was always the idea that the slightest thing, the most minuscule reason for inciting conflict between him and another person lurked behind every corner, always creeping upon every conversation that he was lucky enough to have. It irritated him and thus a vicious cycle occurs; he gets angry about getting angry. Although, wherever possible, Andrew tried to derive a semblance of humour from his condition although such moments were indeed very fleeting. Now, that's enough contemplation and recollection for now, Andrew thought to himself, taking a glance around the room where he was situated for the time being, but my goodness this room is nice and quaint isn't it? It was indeed as he described it; the colours, while somewhat bland and not particularly dynamic in any sense of the word, the fact that it was so mundane seemed as though a wave of pure calm had washed over him. Having a glance in the mirror to make sure that he wasn't beginning to look green in the face, since this was indeed the first time he had ever been on a ship. Opening the door and stepping out into the hallway briskly, he felt that nothing could bring him!

Ooomph. The colliding of the two men together snapped the two out of their reveries, especially Andrew who was under the impression that he would have a day where he wouldn't find himself getting irritated. Collecting himself, rising to his feet rather soberly; looking down upon the man, he offered his arm to him. "S-sorry ab-b-b-out that sir, I...I wasn't paying attention," he muttered out, still anticipating for the man to latch onto his arm. But this particular fellow did no such thing, standing up with a scorn on his face which surprised Andrew quite honestly. Not even bothering to address the young man, he walked off, muttering something under his breath, the majority of which Andrew didn't quite catch but he definitely understand the last word he said...freak. Ba-dum. Andrew clenched his fists together, feeling the blood boiling in his veins as his body temperature began to increase in temperature rapidly. Ba-dum. Turning around to walk in the direction of the man, he caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror; his once cerulean-blue eyes replaced by glowing red orbs, vapour emanating from them as if it were evaporated rage. Andrew walked up to the man, clasping his shoulder in a firm grip.
"What the he-" the man attempted to ask, before Andrew struck him with a crushing right hook, sending the man through the door leading out to the deck. The man wasn't moving, whether unconscious or not, there was a still a body that needed to be brutalised.

"You're...going to REGRET...making me angry."

Castiel

Castiel raised an eyebrow as Austrianna's demeanor rapidly changed as he approached and asked about it. Though when she reached over to Lucas, looking like she wanted to talk to him, he found his suspicions lessening. Though he was confused that Austrianna would be too shy to approach someone. But he pushed it out of his mind, figuring that it wasn't anything to worry about. He didn't really want to go over to Lucas and ask him if he wanted to talk to his sister, and he wasn't sure how to do that without it being awkward. So when Lucas came over on his own, Castiel was relieved that he wouldn't have to deal with the awkward conversation.

Castiel wasn't planning on getting involved in Austrianna and Lucas's conversation. Mostly because he wasn't really sure what to say since Austrianna was the one who wanted to 'talk' to Lucas. Not to mention that he wasn't great at making conversation as most of the time it descended into awkward small talk. But he figured that he should probably stick around, as Austrianna didn't exactly talk much, or at all really. Which he figured could be off-putting for people, so he decided it was best to stick around just in case; He didn't want Lucas to see Austrianna as rude, since she seemed upset that she was to shy to approach him a few moments ago.

Not even a few seconds passed before Castiel heard a crash. He almost instantly looked around, just in time to see a man crash onto the deck of the ship. Without really thinking about it, Castiel made his way over to the man. He noticed that the man seemed to not be moving. As he approached the man heard someone's voice come from the inside of the ship.

"You're...going to REGRET...making me angry."
Castiel didn't exactly like the sound of that, as it sounded like the man was planning on doing more to the currently unmoving man layed out on the ships deck. Castiel stood directly between the man and his attacker. "A-Alright man, calm down. You don't wanna do anything else to this guy." Castiel kept both of his arms at his sides, making sure that his hand was close to his dagger, just in case. "Just walk away, alright?"

Danella
Danella struggled to look at the man who had approach her. "He...Hello" she said trying to keep her remaining oatmeal down. Why did she eat so much? She did not have an answer but hated herself for it. "I am Danella. Pronounced Dah-nella." Danella quickly turned over the edge to release the rest of her oatmeal. She hung over the edge. "Sorry about this. First impressions are important but I really messed up. What is your name?" Her head swayed with the tides. Danella did not fight it and just let the ocean do its thing. All she wanted was to sleep of the sickness and be at their destination when she woke up. Saltwater splashed against the boat and onto her face, its warm water was soothing. Kumii Kumii

Dedoria
Dedoria was enjoying himself on this boat. He was in the form of a fox curled up on a pillow with his blanket keeping him at a perfect level of warmth. Although his sleep held no dream. Dedorias' eyes opened, pleased with his nap, Dedoria stretched his legs and changed back into his normal form. He looked towards his pile of clothes and got dressed. The inconvenience of having to do this every time he changed for was something he had grown accustomed to. With his mask being the last to be put on he was ready to start his day; Dedoria opened the door and walked out of his room and headed directly to where the food was. He had not eaten all day and his stomach was more than happy to remind him. Light as a feather, Dedoria made his way through the hallway and into the room he was looking for. He made no sound as he entered the room, but when he entered he lowered his guard. In social situations, her preferred to keep his joking, happy go lucky act together. If her were to show his true colors he doubted they would let him do what he likes. He hated every one of them although he had only seen a few. Hatred burned within Dedoria as he picked up an apple and took a bite. He calmed himself and put himself in the mindset of Clone. He found it easier to consider himself a new person to avoid inconsistencies with his behavior. He smiled as he ate his apple then threw the core away. "I wonder who I will meet first." He spoke optimistically hoping that if he were heard he would find an easy way to build trust.

Samuel Scientia
Samuel rolled himself over just time to see her hurl a second time, "That.. is gross." He jumped to his by pulling his legs toward his body and launching himself up by shooting his legs forward and pushing off with his hands. He then twirled to face Danella, who was now hanging over the edge if the railing, "Samuel. Samuel Scientia." He helped her off the edge before she was thrown over board by the motion of the waves rocking the boat. "You say first impressions, hmm? Yeah you did, throwing up after meeting someone... that really hurts my feelings." He turned and faked a few tears, "Am I really that ugly?"

He quickly turned around back to Danella and leaned against the banister of the ship, "I really hope you don't end up hurling all over me. Anyways, I won't tell anyone you fed the fishes with your lunch." The railing creaked, but Sam didn't seem to hear or mind it, "My birth name is Samuel, people call me-" The railing gave way and sent Sam falling overboard, thinking quickly, he threw his newly acquired dagger at the side of the ship and hung on for dear life. He looked up, "The Gods must really hate me. Say, Danella, may I have your assistance?" He was too far for her to gave a hand.

Lucas
Lucas met his hand to hers, making it very cold in the process, hoping to spark a reaction from her. "I'm Lucas, I come from Sweden, and who are you two?" Just as he asked that a crash could be heard in the distance, along with a very powerful voice that sounded not too pleased. The sound was harsh like someone knocked over a house. Lucas looked over in the direction it came from and saw the Castiel had already walked over to deal with the situation. Lucas, though he would've checked out what was going on, was more interested in this girl he had just met. She was pretty and seemed distressed, which Lucas always loved helping out with. "They probably have that under control... right?" It was in that moment that Lucas began to smell blood, which meant that there was an open wound. Now Lucas was interested, but not as much as he was worried. "Someone's in trouble, I'll be right back! Just stay there!" Lucas then lept from the box from which he was sitting on and began running towards the commotion. When he got there, he saw that Castiel was trying to calm a very angry looking man down. With a smile, he tried to cool the situation. "Woah, guys guys guys, what's with all the noise?" Lucas readied himself, just in case something were to break out.

Once Lucas introduced himself, Austrianna could conclude that he was an approachable person, it wouldn't hurt to have friends. Sure she wouldn't immediately give him her trust but he's earned the chance of receiving it. For now, multiple things were going on at once. Austrianna had taken note of Celosia's abundance of strength. Celosia would either be a great ally or rival within the future. Someone as powerful within her ranks would drive the valkyrie to better herself. Once Anzu passed the group by, Austrianna caught a simple glance at her. From that simple glance, Austrianna could say she didn't like what she saw. Anzu had a strange aura to her,an aura she felt like could be a threat towards Castiel. There was more Austrianna picked up from from Anzu, things she couldn't exactly put her finger on. Her instincts were telling her to avoid future situations with Anzu at all costs, despite this, Austrianna was never the type to run from danger, she embraces it.

Both Castiel and Lucas were making their way towards the scene Andrew had caused. Everyone upon this ship was a threat until proven otherwise, currently Andrew filled the role perfectly. Seconds, a few seconds were all she needed to assist Castiel. In fact, she'd remove Castiel from the situation entirely. Samuel needed saving from the sound of it while the injured crew member may be in critical condition. She could save Samuel and make her way over to the injured crew member. Compared to Andrew he had no way of protecting himself, something she couldn't stand for. Austrianna bolts to towards the railing Samuel fell over, spreading her powerful wings while doing so. She dives over the railing, leveling herself with Samuel as she did so. With the thought of making him comfortable in mind, Austrianna wears a reassuring smile upon her freckled face. Her left arm wraps around his torso tightly, her right hand clutches the rusty dagger he held on with, removing it from the ship. After giving him a moment to brace himself, Austrianna elevates to the deck, dropping the rusty dagger within his hands as she made her way to the injured sailor. Austrianna puts her hand into her left pocket, revealing a small shield that expands within seconds. This shield had sturdy spikes along the bottom, just in case she needed to root the shield itself down. She didn't know what ability Andrew had so making an armored riot shield would be the best choice. As soon as it finished forming, the shield was rooted into the deck in between Andrew and the sailor. Austrianna retracts her wings, holding in a wince as they shrank into her shoulder blades. When she was running earlier she was too mobile to focus on the pain. Now that she was on her knees to lift up the sailor, she wasn't distracting herself from the pain with body movements. Austrianna didn't let it show at all, instead she used it as motivation. This sailor who could be an average person for all she knew was going through greater pain, pain that would carry on if she didn't remove him from the situation. Austrianna rises up with the sailor in her arms, being careful of making any injuries he had greater than they currently are. Austrianna needed to find a way to access the medical wing but the entrance to the halls were blocked by Andrew. This meant Andrew had to be taken care of to get the sailor the help he needs. Austrianna sets the sailor down gently behind Castiel and Lucas, far from Andrew.

She stood in the front of them both, holding her left arm in front of her in an L shape. Her shield began to shake and remove itself from the ship, attaching itself to her left arm once it was free. Austrianna changes her shield to a smaller and circular shield with a reflective surface. After this she picks up rope sitting on the floor, checking how much rope she had her disposal. She wouldn't harm him if she could so her objective would be to tie him down. With a calm exterior and her usual poker face, Austrianna stood at a ready position for an incoming attack if there were any.

"Now.. if I just under-hand-" He was interrupted by the sight of what looked like an angel, "Have I died?" After she put her arms around his torso and placing him on the deck, "Oh, I haven't died. Good." He picked up his Rusty Dagger and put it in his sheath and dusted himself off, "I meant for that to happen." Sam now took every step with extra caution, clearly the Gods were against him for some reason. "This ship is very structurally unstable, I feel." He looked around and sat down, "Imma just... sit down for a bit." Kinda forgetting he was talking to Danella before he fell and almost died.

Xander

Enamored. That was the best way to describe it. Xander couldn't believe where he was, but believe it he had to.

Nineteen years. That's how long it took for him to leave his home, Silva and venture out into the world. To leave those heavy forests with steep cliffs and thick woods that you could get lost in if you didn't know the way to the city itself. Nineteen years of being within the territory of Silva, nineteen years of enduring hardship, discrimination, jeers, and sneers. 8 years of pent up anger that he used as fuel for training every morning, afternoon, night, and day.

None of it mattered right now. None of it.

Xander sat high up on the spars of the old rickety boat. The wind moved the masts, shook the sails, but his tail kept him bound to the wooden spar without any jostle or shake of his being. Still hearing voices below Xander ignored them not watching or paying attention to the voices or the owners of those voices below on the deck- but instead looking towards the horizon. Watching beautiful rays of sunlight stretch over the border, touch the sea and make it shine like a thousand stars.

The scenery, he took a breathe of fresh air and exhaled with a steady sigh, "It is beautiful."

It filled him with hope. Hope that perhaps this place would be different. Different from most of the others back at home. The open bigotry, disdain, and racism they all shared for not just some races but for the hatred they shared for each other. Toxic, poisionus, simply not for him. He wasn't like most Karmellions. He knew it, they knew it. It was why his family was the closest thing he had to friends.

The only thing he had to true friends.

So, Xander hoped. Hoped, that when he walked into a room full of these new individuals he had yet to introduce himself to they would not nod and smile in a vain effort to hide their real feelings of contempt or disgust, hatred and disinterest, pride and disdain. Hope that when his name was called it would not be "Half-breed", "Fraud", "The Joke".

Hope that when next he lost his temper if he lost his temper, it would not end with him and a so-called 'friend' beating each other senseless because someone had decided to say the wrong thing about his mother and her taste in the male species.

Closing his eyes, Xander's chest felt tight. He exhaled, letting that tightness leave him with the stress. When next he opened his eyes he felt at peace. And...also hungry.

Looking down towards the deck, he saw he was a good hundred feet above the others. Three males, one female and a shadow that disappeared below. Uncoiling his tail around his wooden anchor and climbing to his feet Xander squinted and peered down, aiming for something. Then without hesitation he jumped, like an eagle he descended, and like a primate he grabbed hold of a ropey rung, using it to steady his descent, slow his fall and finally drop onto the deck with a loud thud.

Making his way towards the lower level, Xander glanced at the others as he passed. A woman with a horn, a female with wings, shield and sword. Two males seemed to be bickering, another seemed to rush to break up the quarrel. And somewhere in the distance Xander heard a demure feminine voice and some other male respond.

Ignoring all and moving with decisive steps he entered a hall and walked towards the kitchen and after a minute of meandering he finally found it, mainly because he heard the sound of a crunching apple and then said apple being discarded.

For a second he hesitated. Wondering if it was worth it. Wondering if he should walk through that threshold and say 'Hello'. But the second passed and his stomach grumbled, Xander moved forward, offering a small wordless smile to the young man inside as he moved to the fridge to grab himself something to eat. In the distance he heard heels click against the wooden floors, instead of choosing to turn on the familiar sound he focused on the food in the fridge. Rummaging for something to eat.

Anzu strode quickly towards where she knew the food was kept. It wasn't necessary for her to eat and most of the time, the food tasted like nothing but bland paste but it became more of something to do to distract her rather than anything, so when she found that she was pained by her memories, by the people around her, and by herself, she decided to eat. Humans ate. Most living creatures consumed to sustain their own life. She consumed because... she liked it. Eating made her feel just a little closer to all of these meaningless people with meaningless lives.
But they didn't mean nothing. Otherwise she wouldn't be hurting so much.

As she strode down the hallway she saw a body being thrown in the opposite direction and, by the sounds of it, through a door. Unfortunate. Yet it unfazed her. What fazed her was the loud yelling coming from the man who'd thrown the person. It was annoying. Loud. Her eyebrow twitched as she fought the instinct to mutter something as she passed him and instead continued on.

They had to have something decent to eat on this ship... If it could even be called that anymore. With all the damage happening to it, she was surprised their trip to The Island wasn't about to turn into the Titanic. The thought was disgruntling... It wasn't that she couldn't swim, she just didn't want to get wet. With the way salt water clung to skin... It would be undesirable to be submerged into it. And her outfit wasn't exactly machine washable.

Pushing open the door to the pantry area, Anzu paused in her steps and her eyes widened slightly at the sight of two males standing within, one having just finished an apple; she could smell its bittersweetness. At first, Anzu wanted to say hello, to strike up conversation at the possibility of making "friends". To envision herself doing so was almost laughable, however. Both looked like interesting characters that she wanted to interact with. Her instincts told her to ignore them. What good came of getting to know another living creature? Only pain. Only loss. Anzu always, always went with the latter because she always wanted to speak to them. These people that existed everywhere. But she couldn't. Or perhaps she wouldn't. She could never bring herself to. Maybe one day.
Today was not that day.

Anzu avoided direct eye contact with either, instead opting to steal glances at them instead, inspectional glances that couldn't do any harm. Then she busied herself riling through the containers and baskets of food. Bread. No. Fruit. No. Dried meat? Not right now. She didn't want anything.
But because Anzu lived a life of perpetually not getting what she wanted, she picked up a piece of bread, tore a small chunk off and popped the fluffy morsel into her mouth.

Dedoria "Clone"
Two figures had appeared as if on Que. Clone looked at the two who came in and went directly to the food. He was baffled. "Hello." He said to the two-new people. One looked like he was trying to cosplay as some ninja, to which he chuckled slightly, but the other had caught his eye. Was her hair natural or does she crave attention so much that she dyed it. It was a very strange color but it matched her eyes, which he loved. Her eyebrows were the same color as her hair which made Clones' mind race. Was all her hair that shade of red. His mask covered his face, but if it weren't there his crimson face would be very visible. He turned to the lizard man. "The selection is small but it's understandable. It's not like they can afford a buffet on the trip even though it bores me out of my mind." He quickly grew tired of talking to him and swapped over to the girl who looked like she never got out of her edgy phase. "My name is Clone. Believe me or not that is what I want to be called so if you call me something else I probably will ignore you. Anyways my friends list is small right now and you look lonely eat that bread all alone like that. If you share I may be willing to add you." He pulled a folded piece of paper out of his pocket title friends list and a purple pen. The list had two names on it and one was Tiberius the Tabby cat, the other was Randy the Skeleman. He held his pen to the paper waiting for her name and his piece of bread. There was a loaf three inches away from his reach but he didn't want that bread. In his head, he already had nicknames for the two: Sideburns and Drapes. Clone would change them the instant he could think of better ones.

While the commotion continued on the deck, those inside the ship could hear a groaning sound from beneath them. Vibrations, matching the groans, could be felt as well. For those on the deck, such sounds and feelings were nonexistent. Crew members below deck grew paranoid, knowing full well this wasn't the groan of the ship. Whatever it was had them scrambling. Dedoria, Anzu, and Alexander could see some sailors run frantically through the kitchen. Within the next few seconds, the sounds and vibrations ceased to exist. Commotion throughout the halls could be heard by those in the kitchen. "Off course?!" "What could have that been?" "What do you mean we've been sailing in circles for an hour?" "Keep your voice down!" "There's a fight above deck!" "Why can't we identify the ocean we're in?!" They would have continued chatting away but a subtle tap could be felt on the underside of the ship. For those above deck it could have been just a wave. For those below deck, being thrown off balance was a possibility. For now, things weren't going as planned. Andrew didn't know what to make of the entire situation; one moment he was sending a man through the door leading out onto the deck, the next he was being by a fellow passenger on the ship. The first person to arrive was a man by the name of Castiel, if Andrew recalled correctly, and he seemed to be rather nervous, urging the former to relax and collect himself before doing anything rash. "A-Alright man, calm down. You don't wanna do anything else to this guy. Just walk away, alright?" There was no such thing as turning back when Andrew was in such a state; it only escalates if somebody doesn't put him down first. There had been several occasions in his youth where having gotten into fights, he would have nearly beaten his opponent to death had it not been for the intervention of a teacher at school. I wish I could comply with you mate, Andrew thought to himself, clenching his teeth together, but I'm really in the mood for letting things slide today. Punching the last remaining pieces of the door frame that stood moments before out of his way, only for within the next moment, for two other of his so-called 'colleagues' to arrive in an effort to calm him down it seemed.

Then, like one of the Valkyrie's from Norse mythology came a girl, Austrianna if Andrew recalled correctly, deploying something akin to a shield between the man and himself it seemed. Another arrival was a man by the name of Lucas."Woah, guys guys guys, what's with all the noise?" Curling his fists into an even tighter ball than they already were, the tension gathering within his limbs. Why are they attacking ME?! he thought to himself enraged, angered that people supposedly like him were taking the side of someone who labelled them as freaks, am I so different to the rest of them?! Stepping out onto the deck, Andrew realised that he might have to go through all of them to get to the man and if it meant being able to satisfy his anger, in the sense that he was never allowed to indulge whenever it reared its ugly head, was too tempting an offer to overlook. With that summary of the situation, Andrew charged, jumping into the air with his fists raised, ready to fall upon whatever individual was unlucky enough to be the recipient of his wrath.

"RAAAAAAARGHHH!"

Celosia, on the ship's deck
Intervention time
People passed by, smiling and waving, and not a one even tried to talk to Celosia. She felt so trapped, a metaphorical bird in a metaphorical cage. How much longer was this punishment to last? Any longer and Celosia might have to jump ship, even if she didn't know how to swim. She'd rather take her changes with the icy cold maw of the sea than remain seated another moment.

Just as Celosia was about to make a run for it a man of human origin came crashing through a door and fell on deck. Exciting. Celosia was just about to get up to see how such an event transpired, but the culprit came though the door after the poor squishy sailor. The well built man, Andrew, seemed to want seconds. Others were not as keen on the idea of letting Andrew finish what he started. One by one Celosia's classmates began to gather, a hostile aura surrounded most of them. Some had their hands on their weapons in anticipation, and others were openly brandishing them. Was a fight really about to break out? Celosia's question was answered as soon as she saw Andrew ready himself for an attack, he jumped but didn't seem to have a target in particular. It seemed he just wanted to attack, to take all comers. It would be best if this didn't continue, but he was already in the air, so what could one do to stop the inevitable?

Blink Overdrive.

Celosia closed the distance in a single stride, she placed herself between the leaping Andrew and her other two classmates, Austrianna and Lucas. Now that she was between them, what would the next course of action be. She could block, she could retaliate, she could try to throw him overboard. There were many options, but each one fell short, there was only one real option in this situation.

Celosia took the hit. She didn't use her hands to block, but rather she grabbed Andrew by the waist before he hit the ground and held him up. Both of his hits landed, both fists made contact with Celosia's body and even though she staggered a bit she did not let go of Andrew. He was stronger than Celosia had expected, had anyone else taken that hit they would be on the floor. Taking a deep breath and a moment to recover from the hit, Celosia turned her head to look at the two behind her.

"Please, don't fight, I don't think the ship could take it. If you can save it for when we get on land that would be perfect."

She then turned towards Andrew, who was still being suspended above the deck by the waist.

"And you. If you would like to be mad at anyone let that person be me. If you are still mad when we get back on land I promise you can take all the swings at me that you want. Okay?" There wasn't a hint of malice in her words, nor ill will. She simply cared about the well being of the ship, and didn't wish to see anymore damage come to it. She put Andrew down gently.

"But ya know, you hit really hard. Tell me, what's a human gotta do to get that strong!" Celosia was legitimately curious. Never had she encountered a human with such pure brute power before. "What's your diet like? Workout regime? Do you take any performance enhancing drugs?"

Austrianna didn't mind the assistance from Celosia but she would have preferred to handle things on her own. Once she was sure Andrew was secure, Austrianna drops her rope and pockets her minimized shield. Before tending to the sailor again, Austrianna nods her head in thanks towards Celosia. Within seconds, the sailor was already within her arms once more. With the damage the ship has sustained so far, she doubted it would last the rest of the journey. That or they destroy each other before inevitably sinking. Austrianna begins walking into the open hallway, hoping she'd find another crew member on the way. Since she was no longer on deck, she couldn't see how intense the waves were getting within the area. There were no clouds so chances of a storm would prove to be odd. Despite this, waves strong enough to throw themselves upon the ships deck, smash into the ship relentlessly. A loud moan could be heard from the depths of the water, sending a hum throughout the entire ship. Seconds later the entire ship tilted starboard, completely knocked on its side. Austrianna was thrown onto the wall, which was now the new floor. She used her body to cushion the landing of the sailors but could only think about Castiel. For those still on deck, they'd currently be in the water. She couldn't even think about other dangerous areas, like the kitchen and how wide it is. That would be quite the fall especially with knives, oil, and other hazardous things falling as well.

Before much could happen, something large emerged from the waters, sending tidal waves over the ship, flipping it upside-down. Since the students in the water were being held underwater by the pull of the sinking ship and the wave, they wouldn't have the chance to see what caused it. The students within the ship were now on the ceiling, greeting the invading ocean water. After presenting an eerie grin, the beast caught both the ship and the students whole within its fast jaws, swallowing without hesitation. The students didn't feel anything, nor did they see anything once they were swallowed. Everything simply went white...then cold.

After several minutes, the cold sensation grew stronger, along with an uncomfortable feeling, as if they were resting on concrete. Every breath they took, indicated cold air was around them. These exact feelings caused Austrianna to open her eyes. Revealing a frozen beach, students, and a darkened island beyond the shore.

IMG_4752.jpg

Just like the others, Austrianna had memories of what had happened but her exact death was a blur. She could recall helping out a sailor, a sailor who wasn't here among the bodies laying on the ice. That's when a specific person came to mind, Castiel. Despite her limbs feeling like wet clay, Austrianna forced herself to stand and search for her brother. She seemed to be spinning in circles searching for the boy. Her mind was in such a daze, she couldn't tell anyone apart.

IMG_4678.jpg
"You seem to be looking for something. I can assure you of one thing, your ship is gone if that's what you're aiming for. If it's one of your fellow students, they're here." A meek but raspy voice hit her ears from behind. Austrianna rapidly turns to face the owner of such words. Her vision began to focus once she set her attention towards him, finally her brain was beginning to adapt to the situation. "I am Igsly. I have news for you and your...comrades, once they awaken." It seemed like Igsly was stuck on what to call them. "I must say, it's quite unfortunate you ended up here. Don't mind the dizziness and the slow brain, that happens to us all once you end up here for a few seconds. You are?"

At the moment, Austrianna was still too disoriented to function correctly. The lines were blurred to her at the moment so the most she could do is stare back with glazed eyes. Within a few more moments, she was conscious enough to equip her sword and shield, shifting her sword into a spear. This was to insure distance between this being and her classmates. Until she could make sense of things and they woke up, she wouldn't drop her guard. Shield ready and spear positioned to pierce his heart with a single thrust, Austrianna stood ready. Despite being so prepared, she wouldn't attack. This man deserved the chance to explain himself, for he did say he had news...potentially vital news at that.

"I would like to hear what you'd have to say first before any of our names are given to you. For names hold power and I don't know if you're truthfully helpful or have an ultimatum." Her voice was strange to even herself, due to the fact that she's dazed and she barely uses it. There was one thing she dislikes about her voice, it was extremely soothing. The voice a mother would nurture and bathe her young with when calming them. She's faced various situations in which it made her difficult to take seriously and live the way she likes. She'd rather be the protector than be the protected. Besides caring for others like they were her children, Austrianna simply didn't like to embrace her femininity, and her voice fit the ideal stereotype.

For now, she could only wait for the others to awaken and hope this Igsly character would comply to her demands. After all, he has many advantages in manipulating the situation already.

Lucas
Lucas was cold...so cold. So cold in fact, that he was terrified. 'Why can't I use my powers? It's like I'm out of my body.' Lucas, since he learned how to use his powers, was never too cold or too hot. It was like breathing in fact, he was always in control of his body temperature. Lucas was also very blind, darkness completely taking over his mind like it was being filled with nothingness. 'It's... so cold.' Then, in an instant, his eyes were opening.

With the sky filling his eyes, Lucas took in a long breath of air and smiled, for he was no longer cold, nor was he overheated. He was back in his body again. "That is so much better." His smile quickly faded though, for he then realized that he had no recollection of where he was. He then sat up and looked around. The first thing he saw was ice and some people from the ship scattered around the area. Lucas felt exhausted, he couldn't stand and he was terribly hungry. He needed something to eat. He then saw Austrianna standing up, looking towards someone who didn't look familiar.

Lucas couldn't shout and Austrianna was too far to hear his voice as it was. In a last-ditch effort, Lucas raised his hand to the sky and shot whatever fireball he could, which wasn't much due to his situation. It was a lost cause, the fireball burning out mere seconds after it was shot. Lucas would just have to wait for someone else's help. "I feel like a simpering dishrag right now."
