Lyla was born second in the Kuznetsov family, a mere three minutes after her twin, Dante. From the beginning, the twins were doomed to a life of tragedy, though no one knew it then. Their mothers pregnancy was a rough one, as she spent a majority of it sickly and bed bound. Their father worked double to ensure that they would survive, but he ran himself into the ground in doing so, and that really took a toll on him.

He became grouchy and unpredictable, and their mother never quite recovered from being ill. It was one thing after another, and when the twins were just a few years old, her body gave up and she died. This drove their father deeper into a depression, and the man became abusive. Dante protected Lyla as best he could, but he couldn't always do so. When their father got remarried when the twins were about eleven, things just got worse.

Things came to a head when the twins were about fourteen. The last week or so had been particularly rough as it was the anniversary of their mother's death, which their father had obviously never recovered from. Their stepmother had always been cruel to Lyla, but this time Lyla fought back. She didn't mean to, but she conjured a hurricane right there in their living room. The storm was so vicious that it killed both her stepmother and father.

The story blew up in the news, and even though Lyla was never found guilty, she was a suspect and that was enough. Dante covered for his sister, even though he wasn't even home when it happened. But before he could be torn away from Lyla forever, they were both whisked away to IvyRose. Since the story of their parents death was so big, even the students and faculty knew about it, and most people decided to steer clear of her.

Dante is the first born twin of the Kuznetsov family, born three minutes before his younger sister, Lyla. Their father was never the most in touch with his emotions or a sensitive man, but because of the pregnancy being rough on their mother, he had to work overtime to make sure they were provided for and this took quite the toll on him. He became even gruffer, unpredictable and just not a good person to be around.

Sadly, their mother never recovered from being sick it seemed, and when the twins were a few years old she finally passed. Dante remembers the funeral in flashbacks, how his father made a scene in front of the entire church and all of those who'd come to pay their respects. And at home, things just got worse as time went on. Dante tried to protect Lyla from the abuse as much as possible, but it was hard, especially when their stepmother came along.

She was never kind to Lyla especially, though Dante never understood why. The day of the incident, he was out of the house, with some friends down the street. When he saw the cop cars flying in the direction to his place, he fled back there, finding Lyla in the midst of the storm with their father and stepmother already dead. He covered for his sister, never doubting the story that he told.

But before either twin could be torn from the other, they were taken to IvyRose, where they could learn to control their powers. Dante actually thought this might be good for Lyla, but he was never crazy about the place. Still, he wouldn't leave his sister behind.

  Fire Balls: The first ability she has learned was producing fireballs, shooting them straight from the palms of her hands. It is her basic, yet most efficient attack and the one she uses the most.
  Fire Absorption and Utilization: Whenever used against her, Anita absorbs the fire and even uses it to enhance her own strength. It can also restore her energy if drained as she uses it as a power source.
  Pyrokinetic Flight: It took time but Anita finally learned how to use fire for flying. It includes flying, gliding or levitating through the air.
  Incineration: A power that enables Anita to destroy an entire object or person with extreme heat. Possibly her ultimate ability. She doesn't use it often as it drains her too much but is absolutely empowering and frightening. She utilizes the high temperature and burns her enemy to the ashes.
  
  Drawbacks:
  The only power that Anita really has under control are the fire balls. Although she has learned how to use her power to fly, the fire burns her clothing every single time and so she uses it rarely to never. Also, flying for a long tme or too high causes her nausea and she loses control over her abilities and body which could very well end with her death. Incineration is the most dangerous of her abilities, not only to her enemies but to Anita herself. First, it drains her energy way too much and then, if she loses control, the fire can consume her and despite being basically fireproof, her own fire, if not controlled, can hurt her or even kill her.

He and his wife moved here from Mexico right after they got married and decided to start a new chapter in their lives. Fernando set up a construction company and after years of hard work, it paid off and Fernando made his first fortune. From there, success only followed and after a few years, he was a proud owner of his very own chain of companies all over the States, expanding to Europe. His wife was his high school sweetheart, a girl from a rich Mexican family, who followed her heart when she got married to a poor boy. But since he delivered, Monica was soon back to her old self, became a socialite and enjoyed the fortune her husband made. When their one and only daughter was born, the family was already out of the poverty and therefore, Anita never really knew how it felt to have nothing.

  Since Anita was born after the family was already out of their existential problems, poverty and lack of material things was never something she experienced. Fernando, a boy from a poor Mexican family, understood how it felt not to be able to take care of a child only way too well and decided that his daughter was never going to feel the lack. And that was when the daddy’s little princess was truly born. He made sure Anita always got what she wanted and he could never say no to her. One thing led to another and after a few years, it was clear that Ani was going to grow up as the most spoiled and the most entitled little bitch ever.
  
  When entering the school, she immediately found her crowd and became the your typical popular mean girl. And it didn’t take long for other people to come up with a new nickname for her. The Queen Bitch. Ani was famous for her snarky comments and entitled bratty behavior. She was used to getting what she wanted and never minded getting her hands dirty. Basically, she was a bully. But since her parents belonged among the New York’s finest, people liked her and enjoyed her company. Among other things, she threw the best parties ever since she was a child.
  
  It all changed when she hit her sweet sixteen. Big party in the family penthouse, loads of presents, alcohol because why not, big cake and loads of snow. Yes, Anita was born in December and it meant a winter party. Among other things, she also prepared a small bonfire on the rooftop but that was the gravest mistake. In the party rave, Ani decided that it was time to set it on fire. The girl was positively buzzed and didn’t remember a lot but that night, the Villareal penthouse burned down, a few kids were injured and Ani’s real persona was born. She remembered the bits and pieces and it was enough for her to experiment.
  
  After a few days, it became clear. She was not exactly normal. Fire was running in her veins. Literal fire. What would freak out the most people, Ani was excited about. She took it as a little circus trick and started to show off. And that was how they found her. The fucking government. One of those days, she was enjoying herself and the attention in the school yard when a few black SUVs parked right there and a couple of men in black approached her, dragging her away, kicking and screaming. Despite her father’s objections and Anita’s tantrums, it was actually her mother to ship her away to Wyoming. Sure, it was a downgrade but Ani decided to stay true to her nature and build her crew from zero. And in no time, she became the resident bitch of Diamond Academy.

  Metal Bending: Riley can bend and manipulate any kind of metal, adapr it to his will, create or destroy just by thinking about the shape he wants to make. It appliest to anything made of metal from silverware to bridge constructions.
  Gun and Bullet Manipulation: Stopping bullets on a way to get him is nothing Ry has never done before. Running from the police or the resident gangs, he has plenty of experience with guns and he was being shot at so many times that it served as a practice enough.
  Magnetic Skin: This is something Riley can basically "turn on and off" but he never found it useful. At least ont "legally" useful because for hiding guns and weapons on him without needing straps or holsters was always pretty much fun.
  
  Drawbacks: Since Ry doesn't really control his power fully, it is no surprise that his attempts often backfire. He doesn't know how to use his powers properly and sometimes uses too much force and instead of mild adjustment, the building collapses or vice versa. Trying to stop the bullets, he sometimes causes property damage and one a few occasions, when he tried to take the gun form a cop, it hit him in the face or basically flew away, out of reach for everyone. But his greatest problem is his magnetic skin because the boy does not know how to control its turning on and off properly so sometimes if thappens that metal things, silverware or coins are randomly stuck on him. But it is also a pretty great danger to his life since the objects fly his way and some of them can hurt him quite a lot, cuts from knives or a bashed skull is nothing pretty to experience.

Her parents were not excited but Ruth was determined that Jonathan Gallagher was her fate and she decided not to go to college, but get married to him and have a family. Soon after the marriage, their first child was born. Son Riley. At first, the family was happy, Ruth and Jon enjoyed their little house and the baby but only until Jon lost his job. He worked in a local garage and though the salary was not amazing, it kept them going. After the garage closed down, Jon was left unemployed and not being able to take care of his young family, with a three-year-old boy and another baby almost there, he started to look for answers at the bottom of the bottle. And it was all downfall from there.

  When Riley was born, his family was almost perfect. They were not the richest people in the world but they had love and his parents were driven to provide everything what their little boy needed. Up to his third birthday, Ry was nothing but a happy toddler. And then shit hit the fan. Riley didn’t really feel it because he was too small to understand but the family turned around and where happiness used to reside was now anger, yelling and alcohol. A lot of it.
  
  As he was growing up, he slowly started to realize that daddy was bad to mommy and when he started school, he noticed that other daddies were not so mean to other mommies and that things could work differently. He was sad from the situation at home and often times, it was not just Ruth who scored a blow or two. Jon carried a heavy hand and Riley felt it more often than he would care to admit. But it came to one point when he said enough.
  
  When Ry hit his teenage years, he started to run from home. He became tired of yelling and arguments, he couldn’t stop his father from hitting his mom, so he either ran to his bad influence friends or took his little sister and they went to get some ice cream or whatever. Just to get away from home where there was nothing but circus of the worst kind. Starting middle school, Riley, who used to be a straight A student and a passionate reader, decided that there was no point in all of it and though he was still hella smart, he just could care less about school as it was not important anymore. Instead, he kept wandering the streets, getting in trouble and trying out his luck until one day.
  
  Riley became a famous shoplifter, his success rate was incredible and he was never caught. People dared him for more and more risky shit and he always took it. Until the day when his powers appeared and while leaving the music store, pockets full of goodies, his skin magnetized and he was revealed. The store security chased him but he was faster. But he realized something was off and started to explore only to find out that he could do all sorts of shit with metal. He started to use it for his heists and the incapability to control his abilities was his demise when the government car stopped in front of his house one day and Riley, despite his mother’s and sister’s pleas, was shipped away to Wyoming to the Ivyrose Academy.

-Overstimulation: Emotional control has an important grasp of the gifted's abilities. In the case of too much emotion, she may be unable to control her transformations or the animal instincts that come with them, leading to the release of a wild animal.
-Shifting-induced pain: Each shift causes the complete rearrangement of the gifted's anatomy, oftentimes leading to broken and reconfigured bones, torn and reattached tissues, and organ manipulation. biography

Samara's life began as most others: with a loving mother, a devoted but hardworking father, and anything she could ever want or need. As an only child living in Oxford, she was given quite a comfortable life. Her mother was an interior decorator and her father, a research professor at a prominent English university. She loved animals and being outside, playing music and drawing. But everything changed when she was twelve years old and her mother, Claire, was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma.

It was then that her father, Dr. Langdon Seabrook, began to fall into the grips of insanity. As a professor of biology whose prominent research was in the genetic manipulation of cells through experimental technology, Dr. Seabrook spiraled down a path of finding a cure for his wife's terminal illness. His once ethical and moral laboratory no longer experimented within the confines of what was socially accepted. In about a year's time, the university no longer supported Dr. Seabrook's outlandish research, and thus he was let go. Dr. Seabrook, however, would not simply stop and let his wife die.

In the basement of their home, Dr. Seabrook built his own laboratory where he continued his experimentation on whatever subjects he could find: rabbits in the park, a pet cat he stole from their neighbors, and various wildlife he somehow was able to access via his old connections at the local zoo. The man was far from in his right mind, and a few months later believed he had devised a cure for his wife's disease. But unfortunately, too much time had passed, and Claire passed away.

Wrought with grief and guilt, Dr. Seabrook no longer had any semblance of sanity. In a fit of rage following his wife's funeral, Langdon dragged his then fifteen-year-old daughter into his basement lab against her will, intent on testing the "cure" on a human subject. Though Samara fought and struggled against her father, she was still young, and could not stop him from injecting the murky liquid directly into her bone marrow. Keeping her as his prisoner, Dr. Seabrook ignored his daughter's pleas of pain and suffering.

One day, at the end of his rope, Dr. Seabrook decided to injected his daughter with random blood from his sample collection. Both Sam and her father were unprepared for the drastic metamorphosis that occurred. Twisted in the most brutal pain Samara had felt in her entire life, her body cracked and broke until a red fox stood where the girl once did. Astounded by this discovery, Langdon injected more animal DNA into his daughter. Unfortunately, that would be his demise.

By the time the third animal serum had been introduced into her body, Sam was in the most unbelievable amount of pain. Her body began to shut down on itself, and the animal instincts took over. In a body covered by thick fur, powerful jaws and claws sank into the main arteries of Dr. Langdon Seabrook. Paralyzed by the pain consuming his body, Dr. Seabrook bled out on the floor of his makeshift laboratory.

When Sammy finally came to the following day, finding herself human once again, she discovered her father's body on the floor. In a panic, Samara packed a duffel bag of her things and left for America to escape the consequences of her father's murder. After living on the streets of New York City for about a year, surviving by pickpocketing and theft, Samara was given an invitation to the IvyRose Academy for Gifted Youngsters. In dire need of a place she felt she belonged, Samara traveled to Wyoming and has been there ever since.

Backstory:
Miya had an average upbringing and discovered her abilities pretty early on. Had fun with them, used them for all sorts of shenanigans as any child would until like a year ago. Miya and her parents were driving home from their relatives when a drunk driver crossed their path, making their car fall off a cliff and into the ocean. Miya was already strong enough to save herself but still lacked complete command over her abilities to be able to save her parents from the sinking wreckage. Ever since then Miya avoids open water and refuses to use her abilities as she believes there is no use of having them if she cannot use them to save the people, she loved the most.

When her parents died, their best friends from high school, Mr and Mrs Pierce, decided to take her in and raise her as her own. Miya now lives with them and their only son Sebastian, whom she has known since they were babies, and is preparing for her first year at IvyRose.

Abilities:

Waterbending - hydrokinetic ability to control water in all of its various forms. The moon is the source of power.

Healing through water - can use water to heal minor wounds. Works only at night.

Bloodbending - specialized sub-skill and a rare variation of waterbending. A sinister application of the principle that water is present in every living organism, thus making them bendable objects themselves. By definition, bloodbending is a technique that allows a bender to enforce his or her will to an organism.

-Technokinesis: A psychic ability that allows mental interface with computer data. The gifted party can control the flow of intricate machinery, and assemble or disengage their programming at will, and operate most technology at distance.
-Meta-learning: The gifted can gather and assimilate any kind of knowledge and understand it fully and instantaneously through passive means such as reading. Also able to read at speeds far faster than the average human and perform complicated calculations in his head.

drawbacks

-Cyber desert: The gifted cannot control or connect with purely mechanical objects that have no electronic/computer components. They also must be close to the object being manipulated and, if none are around, are considered powerless.
-Copycat: Due to the passive nature of the meta-learning ability, the gifted can only know as much as the author or source he is learning from. It can be improved upon later with more information, but the instantaneous knowledge is limited.

biography

Born into a long line of gifted individuals, Finnegan's entire childhood was filled with learning. For as long as he could remember, his father, Headmaster Reginald Chambers, was in charge of the ins and outs of IvyRose Academy for Gifted Youngsters. The stern man was dedicated to his work, and rarely had time for his young, gifted son. Finn's mother, Marianne, was the original mathematics professor at the academy. But, when Finn was no more than five, she disappeared without a trace. From the stories his father had told him, the couple originally met as young adults while attending some sort of education conference in Europe. The two were immediately drawn to one another, physically and emotionally. Within a few months, Marianne had moved to the United States to be with Reginald. Within the year, the pair were married. And within two years, Finnegan was on the way.

The Chambers family was well-known throughout the country for heading the best school for those considered "gifted." They took pride in their academy and its ability to train even the most dangerous of the gifted. Eventually, IvyRose Academy was so sought after that they had to expand. What was once a single-building high school had grown into a full-fledged campus covering several acres of land and housing some of the world's most powerful individuals. In the early years, it was a cheerful and fun place to be. But after Marianne's disappearance, the atmosphere changed. Just no one could put their finger on how.

Finnegan spent much of his childhood alone, wandering the halls of the academy without any real guidance, aside from the faculty and staff. His father was only really around on birthdays and holidays, which felt more like business deals than celebrations. For most of his young life, Finn couldn't help but feel like he was disappointing his father. He didn't seem to have any abilities that would deem him gifted, and he was sure his father hated him for that. Nevertheless, Finnegan threw himself into his studies and became quite the intellectual. It wasn't until his freshman year at the academy that his father realized Finn was more special than he had ever given him credit for.

That morning, Finnegan was reading in the library to pass the time before class. His father, who had just left a meeting, was passing by when he noticed his son. Though Finn was reading at his "normal" speed, he was flipping through the pages of the rather large computer manual with ease. In less than 10 minutes, he had read through over 1000 pages of the technical manual and wanted to try out what he had learned. So, Finnegan proceeded to take apart the nearest computer. Much to Reginald's surprise, as soon as Finnegan touched the parts and pieces he had separated, they moved back together like magnets and recreated the computer he had just taken apart. Not only was Finn a meta-learner, but also a technokinetic, abilities that had before not been seen together in the same person.

Finnegan quickly became his father's "golden child," the figurehead he paraded around to show how successful IvyRose was. But, Finn couldn't help but think that, since his mother's strange disappearance, there was more going on behind the walls than just education, that some sinister moved through the walls. Moreover, whatever it was, his father knew about it. Finn isn't quite sure what the academy is planning for the gifted students it trains. But something in him is worried that it isn't good.

Backstory:
Sebastian was born into a typical rich and complete family. His father is a successful businessman, which enabled Mrs. Pierce to be a stay-at-home mom. Knowing no lack, Sebastian was destined to have an unproblematic life. However, it was not the case as Sebastian started showing abnormal behaviour as early as a few months old. While other babies were crying getting their first shots, Sebastian’s face remained still, showing no sign of distress.

Noticing that Sebastian never shed a tear, no matter how badly he had fallen or hurt himself, Mr. and Mrs. Pierce found out soon enough that their little boy was special. In addition to being immune to any pain, Sebastian also showed increased speed, strength and stamina compared with his peers. This led to Mr Pierce enrolling Sebastian in all martial arts classes he could find, dreaming that his son would become the fiercest fighter the world of sports has ever seen. His childhood soon turned into a compilation of practices and matches.

Before he enrolled in IvyRose, Sebastian used to go to a regular school for non-gifted children. It was no surprise Sebastian kept defeating his opponents with ease as not even a broken bone could stop him from finishing a match. However, not having any idea about pain and the thresholds, he could not distinguish between the levels of pain he was causing his opponents. To him, breaking a bone was just as same as bumping your arm into a doorframe. That is why he had no idea what he was doing in the ring was so bad. The students soon started looking at him through their fingers, calling him a monster. He never asked to be born with such an ability hence he felt it was unfair for them to treat him like that.

His upbringing resulted in Sebastian having no compassion whatsoever. He is like a fighting dog, brought up always aiming at defeating his peers, dominating them and crushing them. There was no room for compassion, trust or love in such a world. It was eat or be eaten. With nothing to fear, Sebastian has no filter and recklessly starts one fight after another, seeing it as an answer to everything.
