Realistic or Modern It's All Fun and Games...The Group

GhastlySquash

Two Thousand Club
The Group. There isn't much of a ring to it. They're a group, sure. But they're not some collective. The kids of the 1%. Spoiled, yes. Privileged, yes. And a mirror psychopath perfect for their psychopath parents. Only they're much too young to understand the rules they're playing against.

Thrill-seeking criminals...it's just a question of whose life they wanna mess up next.

Name:
Staron Hearthe

Age:
17

Gender:
Male

Appearance:

1557177670504-png.572089

1557177799212-png.572091

Short dirty blonde hair that is always in a state of fluffy bounciness. His eyes are a dull blue, as if they are fading out of this plane. His smile is very practiced, but if someone has studied body language they would be able to see through his facade of a smile in his every day life. When he is with his gang and enjoying his carefully planned games, his true smile appears.

He tends to wear long sleeved shirts and pants, even when it's warm. His style is modern, but he doesn't put enough care into his appearance to keep up with social trends.

Role:
The Leader

Height/Weight:
6'0"
185 Lbs.

Personality:
His personality deep down is one of sheer selfishness. He never makes a decision if it doesn't benefit him or his goals. When he's around people he trusts, he drops his false aura of a rich boy and becomes someone who believes he's above it all. In reality, he's moderately skilled at physical activity but no more than any normally fit 17 year old.

He has an above average ability to plan ahead. If nothing else, his own desire to feel excitement drives his motivation to learn how people work in order to manipulate him.

With all that in mind, his personality does have tendencies of weakness. He's never met someone who can challenge him, thus his ability to truly handle confrontation is very stunted. He tends to lean on those who he trusts to back him up when things get rough. He's also never had anyone tell him no, so when someone tries he takes it as a personal challenge. This has often led him to being used by others who can figure out he's easily baited into a challenge.

Bio/History:
Staron was the kid who got everything he wanted. His father, the "old money" successor of a large hotel chain, was never one to truly take an interest in his son. The neglect had a profound effect on Staron and led him to attempt to fill the void in his heart with materials.

Toys, experiences, and friends were all in a great abundance for him. He had been used for his things early on, and thus his first thrill was using others for their things. At some point in his youth, he had no need to use others. It became boring to him. This world had so little to offer him in terms of legitimate excitement and it was becoming evident in his cruel undertones and mannerisms. His friends began to avoid him slowly.

At some point Staron got into a confrontation with one of his friends. It started off small, he took their computer as a show of power. When he saw how his friend reacted.. something triggered in him that hadn't been there before. Excitement. He watched his friend's panic and sorrow and knew he was the cause.

From that point on, he started to wear the mask of a perfect child. His grades were excellent and he enjoyed various after school activities and sports. Yet he started to find those who shared the same look in their eyes when someone else was in pain. His group was finally coming together.

As Staron pushed into high school, the group had taken on a sinister identity. He met the second-in-command during his early stages and had grown to rely on them. In a way he both used them to bounce ideas and to share in his enjoyment. He wasn't fully sure if he trusted his second with his inner most thoughts, but at this point their shared joy of their games was enough for him.

Ashley was one of Staron's greatest finds. It all began with a small look in her eye on while they were in school. His curiosity was not easily earned nor sated. He began to follow her, questioning if she was anything than a prissy rich girl with an interesting face.

It all seemed normal until he saw her go on her first hike. The way she treated those animals stirred something deep within. It all came to a head when she burned a hobo alive.

Staton hadn't gone so far as to burn another human. He knew this was the find of the century and tracked her down. After convincing her that together they could inflict much more pain, he had his sadist.

As the group grew, their margin for error decreased. One night during a particularly brutal game, something happened. Someone lived. For the first time during his life, the leader felt like he had met with a fate that he didn't want. His anger exhilarated him, but he was too cautious not to realize the implications of this oversight. He would have to play things intelligently - especially now that there was more formally trained experts looking into the games. If he wanted to grow this sick band into something he could sustain his need for excitement on forever, he would need to absolutely crush anyone looking to end his fun.

Staron's biggest fear is that someday he will grow bored with this game and have to find something else to fulfill his desires.

Relationships:
- The Second-In-Command - <Soon>
- The Sadist - Ashley - Staron I'd absolutely infatuated with Ashley's sadistic tendencies. In general, he worries she might be too frivolous with her desires and won't plan ahead. That said, nothing brings a smile to Staron's face more genuine than when he sees Ashley go to work.
- The Detective - None (yet).
- The Reporter - Only would know her marginally - through his father's interactions. Doesn't think about her too much as she doesn't concern him or his world - as far as he's aware.
- The One That Lived - Bay is someone he sees as a target - vulnerable and alone in the world. His entire focus would be on getting her involved in the games in a way that wasn't easily traceable back to him or the group.

Distinct Crime:
The crime that really defines Staron's life goal is the events he orchestrated that to his friends suicide. Upon stealing his friends computer, it triggered his desire to do crime / cause pain to others. He began to harass and cause paranoia for his friend to the point he threw himself off of a building. It was only the beginning for Staron, but this was truly his distinct crime.

Name: Ashley Davidson

Age: 17

Gender: Female

Appearance:

A lanky girl with fair skin that's slightly tanned and long, flowing dark brown hair and dark brown eyes. She's the kind of girl that looks friendly when she smiles and funny when she's angry.

Role: The Sadist

Height/Weight: 5'7 @ 130 Lbs

Personality: On the outside, Ashley is an outgoing, friendly girl who has a habit of talking too much but also engaging and inspiring others. She's not perfect, and more than once has she been lectured on perhaps suggesting some outlandish demonstrations. Sometimes, she can appear dense and oblivious to the more simple things in life and she isn't one to listen to people who tell her otherwise. This stubbornness and determination makes her a little too intense for others, but as many people get to know her, they realize she will pour her heart and passion in what she cares for the most.

The truth however, is she possesses a violent, sadistic side to her personality. Her psychopathy stems from a lack of empathy towards her victims. For her, hurting something or destroying something that has order brings a surge of pleasure to her. Like a child who destroys her own sand castle, Ashley doesn't see people as people. Just neatly arranged sandcastles that have interesting reactions when exposed to stress. Her method is cold and methodical, but because of this she comes across to her friends as sadistic.

Oddly enough, Ashley hates murder. She finds it boring and a waste. Only if the destruction is completely necessary will she resort to it.

Bio/History:

The daughter of a city council member, Ashley grew up realizing how two-faced people were. The secrets and appearances they kept up while they were around her and the public was apparent. It wasn't until one time, when a friend of her father got a little too close with her that she realized just how distant she was.

The cover-up that followed was easy enough. After all, Ashley was too young to realize just what had happened to her and her own mental state had not fully developed at this time. Still, she felt a need for control. Control over something. And that was when she found that man's cat.

It was innocent curiosity. How far could she go. But then she realized she couldn't stop either. What limits existed when no one was watching? And in the end, when her father caught her, he had her discard the evidence and grounded her for a week. She was sent to a variety of therapists, and she found herself fooling them all. Explaining that the incident was just one of child-like ignorance.

By the time she had grown up, she'd learned to hide these desires under a facade of character. It was like acting in a make-believe world, only she did it daily. She became popular. She had friends. She had enemies. She had relationships in high school. She fought with her parents when they wouldn't let her go out. She complained and vented about her problems like any normal person.

And during all of this, she went on "hikes". The hikes were to improve her craft. Traps set for squirrels. Then pets, and then one time a homeless beggar on the street. She wanted to test it all. How could something that took so long to create and develop break so easily? It was fascinating and it was exciting. And it gave her the control she desired.

By high school, she'd found the group and brought with it her own plans and excitement.

The homeless beggar. She explored an abandoned scrapyard one night and discovered a hobo living under the tracks. It was at this point she wanted to try something truly riveting. She had been experimenting with molotov cocktails, so her first attempt was tossing one at the man and setting him on fire. The screams and dance he did as he ran down the path was something she'd remember for quite some time.

Name: Bay

Age: 16

Gender: Female

Appearance:
571179

Role: The One Who Lived

Height/Weight: 5'7 - unknown

Personality:
Bay is usually a really goofy person. She likes making everyone laugh and she likes having a good time. Bay is the type of person that'll make weird noises and weird faces at you just to make you laugh. She does have her moments where she gets quiet. She can become distant out of nowhere and she's pretty cautious. She's very observant and not many people see that because of her goofy personality. She can also sometimes be seen talking to herself.

Bio/History:
Bay was found on the side of the road a few months after she was born. She was taken in by a couple who raised her as their own. At the age of eleven, her guardians were murdered. The police thought that Bay was the one who killed them, so they took her.

Bay was so distraught and emotional that when the police realized that Bay was not the killer, they threw her in a mental asylum. They also did not want the public to know that they made another mistake in a case, so they left Bay in the asylum and let the actual murderer walk freely.

Case Closed.

In the asylum, Bay endured years of torture. They never gave her a diagnosis, they just deemed her crazy. After spending years in that tortuous asylum, she actually did become a little crazy.

When she was fifteen, she realized she needed to escape, so she did. After she escaped, she wandered the streets looking for food and clothes. She stole from a couple of places, but she didn't care. It was necessary for her survival.

Straight blonde hair that falls down to her mid-waist. Blue-grey eyes. Always carrying a camera.

Role:
The Reporter.

Height/Weight:
5'9 - 132 lbs

Personality:
Elise is a truthful person, with a strong moral compass. She's loyal to those the trusts, but it takes a lot to make her completely trust you. She's always willing to listen and isn't afraid to speak out. Elise is extremely curious and willing to go all out for the truth to be revealed.

Bio/History:
Elise was born to a decently well off, but not rich, family and had an average childhood. Her mother was a writer and her father was a lawyer. As a kid she found a great love of writing but as she learned more about her fathers profession of seeking justice she became interested in law. In high school she joined journalism and fell in love, realizing that she could make a profession out of both of the things she loved. Elise was not a very popular person, having only a couple close friends, because of writing quite controversial articles in the school newspaper. She once wanted to write an exposé on the principal, who was laundering money, but the teacher supervisor of the student newspaper didn't allow it. Instead, Elise started her own blog, writing about whatever she found necessary. At the age of 17, her father died, causing a bout of grief. She recovered quickly though, knowing that's what her father would've wanted. She got into collage and studied journalism, graduating at the top of her class. She now writes for the local newspaper and occasionally broadcasts for the news station. She's heard whispers about the group, and is determined to get to the bottom of it.

Name:
Detective Jack Hernandez

Age:
30

Gender:
Male

Appearance:
571769
Usually wears smart casual. Mostly seen wearing button up shirts and black warm vests paired with good old fashioned beige colored pants. Mostly wears old fashion styles. He wears sunglasses in some occasions and always seen staring at a wristwatch on his arm. Other than his huge height. Jack's overly matured body outlines a slight muscular upper torso and legs. Seems like he used to work out long ago given the fact that he has gain a bit of weight now.

Role:
Police Detective

Height/Weight:
6'2 and 200 lbs

Personality:
Jack's character personality in general is rather bland in some standards of others. On the exterior he looks like your average man, in fact anyone can ignore him easily. He'll only engage in conversations if he needs to for he is prefers to observe more. To note that he hardly expresses himself for he only has like one face in most occasions. Probably because of his job's habits. He often sounds monotoned and talks in a deep voice. He is truly has a mind of detective.

The concept of "Good cop, bad cop" is vague on this man. He doesn't necessarily go all soft on a certain suspect but he that doesn't mean that he has the right to treat them like something else. He constantly adjust himself when engaging important interactions. He tends to be wise on his decisions. Given his detective profession, Jack ensures to do the right thing and will find what needs to be done. Acting like he calls the shots. Because of his righteousness. He sometimes forgets what is part of his business or what is personal. All the while. Jack will surrender what's good for the better of all.

Bio/History:
Before he became the man he is now. Jack was your typical school nerd, with two very elderly parents and a younger brother as his only family. Growing up in a decent household. Jack was able to afford good education. Wanting to become a military marine as his future occupation. During his years in high school often bullied which was not much of a big deal to Jack. He actually didn't care about being a detective in the first place. Till years later before he graduated high school, his perspective changed upon hearing the devastating news about his brother, Milo... Murdered inside their very home, in the living room. Jack could remember this image each day of his life. He did not know why such a cruel fate would set upon his brother but he knew that something was incorrect about the whole incident as the suspect was his own father. Jack bet in all his heart that his father is not the killer and he will do anything to prove his point. This is where his change of perspective took full effect. Dropping his dreams of serving the military. Jack took on the job for detective's work. Proving his father is not guilty. He studied in the best university his family could afford and gave his all just to correct the wrong. Each passing day, month and years.

Jack became the Police Detective swore to become. Jack's contribution to the Police department was decent but he had made sure to keep his real agenda a secret but as time goes by. His eye were now opened to real world of crime. He saw the corrupted injustice of his own department itself. The broken system that made him force to become a detective and give justice to the wrong. Jack became rogue to the Police department and took matters into own hands while brushing under their noses.
