“I am still alive.” The man breathed out. His voice was scratchy and shaky, “Please. Please if anyone hears this. I am still alive.”
——————————————

Clearton is a small town located on the edge of an island. Despite this it isn’t a tourist town. It’s more like a town tourists run from. The beach could hardly be considered a beach as there isn’t any sand, just gravel and dirt. Not much happens there. Not much that’s interesting anyway. There’s a festival once a year that celebrates the towns anniversary but even that really isn’t fun. So when working one night at the town’s local radio station everyone's shocked to hear a radio broadcast that they were not transmitting. Despite initially thinking it’s a prank and laughing about it later, it happens again the next night. So they try to get in contact with the person doing it, tell them to stop as it was annoying and slightly creepy. As things turn out, it’s not a prank.

The radio transmission from the mysterious man sends a group of friends on an adventure that they never planned to go on. One that includes running from the government, finding a mysterious island that doesn’t exist, and forgetting everything they thought they knew about their little town. They just have to find the man who cried for help.

Serena
Serena spun her phone around on the table in front of her, watching it spin as music played through her headphones. Despite her love for radio she hadn't wanted to be here tonight. It was one of the first Friday's she had off in what felt like months and she had plans to hang out with her friends, that is until her co worker called out 'sick'. Serena had the window on the other side of the room open, letting the cool air into the stuffy room, counting down the minutes until she would be able to leave. She sighed, her eyes finding the clock hanging on the wall next to her, still another two hours to go. Letting out a frustrated groan, she stood up, setting her headphones on the desk and stretched, her back cracking from the movement. Maybe she could take listener calls? There wasn't any show scheduled for today, and she hadn't been talking before, but she could always open up the lines. She smiled and sat back down, tucking her legs underneath her on the chair. After another song and commercial played, Serena put the headphones back on, pulling the microphone close to her. "Alright guys, we're gonna take a small break from the music, cause I know you've all missed hearing my voice through your speakers." She smirked to herself, shaking her head. "I'm here alone, a bit bored, and wondering what's happening in your lives. Tell me what you're doing, request a song, tell a joke, whatever you guys want."

She knew many people might not be listening, but it was worth a shot. Sure enough, about a few minutes later the phone started ringing. Serena picked it up quickly, "Hello, called number one. How are you tonight?" For some reason the radio made her a social person, the fact that she wanted people to call her so she could have a conversation shocked her sometimes. In person you were lucky to get a couple of sentences out her. "I'm calling you to request your silence. Put the music back on." Serena recognized the voice immediately, letting out a laugh.

Jason
"Hello to you too, Jason." Serena said, sighing. He knew that she knew he was only joking though. "You were actually playing some good songs tonight, it's a shame you ruined it by speaking." Serena was like the sister Jason never had. They constantly got on each others nerves, fighting about trivial things, teasing each other constantly.

"You're clogging the line up Jason, I'm hanging up now." And true to her word, the line went dead. Jason laughed, standing up. He had been listening to the radio, writing an essay for his history class. Senior year was easier so far than he had suspected it would be, but it was still a lot of work. He let out a yawn, pulling up his friends group message to text them.

you guys wanna go to the radio station? we can take over the radio

Jason and his friends would sometimes hang out at the station with Serena, once they even had a small party there, much to the dismay of the Mrs. Crowe, the stations owner. Banned them all for a couple of months. Jason pulled his shoes on, grabbed his keys and made his way out to his truck. His pickup truck was one of the most convenient things he owned, all of his friends could fit in it, even if they did have to sit in the bed of the truck. Most of them enjoyed it anyway, especially when he went fast around corners, slinging them around.

where's everyone at? i'll come pick u up.

Kana was laying on her bed at home, her head on her pillow as she held a magazine high above her head. There were some interesting articles in it, though Kana mostly read the magazine for the recipes. Whoever wrote them made good food. She liked to try it out when she had time. It was an old copy, though, so Kana already knew all the recipes in it. She was just bored enough to comb through the articles too, reading the celebrity gossip and Agony Aunt letters. The magazine dropped out of her hands when her phone buzzed from the table beside her bed. Kana rolled over and grabbed it. She saw Jason's name before anything else.

you guys wanna go to the radio station? He asked them. She thought for a second, receiving an offer for a lift there as well. She began to respond.

I'm up for it. At my house, if it's on your way.

Getting off her bed, she grabbed a jacket off the back of her desk chair and shoved her phone into one of her pockets. She moved down the stairs, hearing her mother typing in her study. She paused outside her mother's door, knocking lightly before speaking.

"Going out," She said in Japanese. She pushed the door open slightly, so her mother could see her. Her mother glanced around and nodded.

"Be home before midnight, Azuki." Her mother said. Kana rolled her eyes at the nickname, but made a mental note about the curfew. She closed the door and headed to the front of her house, waiting for a reply or Jason's truck.

Joey leaned the back of his head against the tree, letting the cool breeze blow against his face. His face was a little warm, and he knew he'd be bruised by tomorrow, if not later today. That was a problem for later, not now. For now, he was just a little tired. It would be easy enough to take a nap somewhere, or buy an energy drink from a nearby store. He had some cash in his pocket, and it was only a short walk to somewhere that would sell that. The nap thing was a little harder. A bench would work, but it would be super uncomfortable. He'd almost made up his mind when his phone vibrated in his jacket pocket. He opened one eye to check the text.

meet you there. I'm nearby.

He kept his phone in his hand, checking the other replies as he gave up on the idea of getting a nap or a drink. It was fine really, he could manage. If it came to it, he could steal Serena's chair and sleep in that. He probably wouldn't need to do that. Joey began the walk to the radio station.

Ally rested on the living room's couch, watching TV. Her leg was lazily tossed over the sofa and her mind zoned out as her eyes simply accompanied the images displayed on screen. The girl was taken away from her trance when she heard her phone vibrate on the small glass table in front of her.
She attempted to reach her phone from where she was, but she couldn't reach it. Annoyed, she sat up and grabbed it, pressing the power button. After seeing that it was a message from Jason to the group and reading said message, she hesitated for a bit.
Her parents had gone out and Troy wasn't home, so she didn't have to babysit him. Theoretically, she was free to do whatever.

meet u guys at the station

With that being said and done, Ally forced herself off of the couch and went upstairs to put on some more appropriate clothing. Racing down the steps after putting on a gray hoodie over her yellow shirt and swapping her shorts for black sweatpants, she left her home and locked the door behind her.
Allegra didn't live that far away from the station. As a matter of fact, Ally didn't live that far away from anything, really. It would only take her ten minutes to walk on over there, but because walking is for normies (according to her), she would instead run. After putting her headphones on and setting her phone to play a random song from her playlist, Allegra began her jog to the radio station.

Music filled the lonely indoor poor, the vocalizations of Lorde spilling out of a pastel yellow, pill shaped speaker. The indoor pool wasn't the largest, but the music still bounced off the walls in a strange, but alluring echo.

Consumed by the pools water swam a short-ish teenager of Egyptian and Australian ethnicity, adorning a blue bathing suit and a matching cap and goggles. It appeared that she was swimming as a sport, not just for fun. Due to that, she was able to book the entire pool to herself at this hour (mainly by the school though, she was their first win for swimming in awhile-). Nearly every other day, she would come in here and practice, trying to improve her speed and diving techniques.

The said swimmer broke the surface of water, gracefully spitting out water as she lowered her goggles. Goggles dangling by her neck, they revealed unique grey-green orbs, filled with fatigue and surrounded by red rings from the suction of the goggles. Blinking, a smile slid across her features. She felt tired, but an accomplished and productive tiredness, if that made any sense. She felt like she deserved a break.

Wading over, she checked her phone. Her eyes lit up, another smile tugging at the corners of her lips. It appeared her gang wanted to meet up once more and hang out.
'Amisi: Hey mates. I'm definitely down for it. :blowkiss:
Amisi: Willing to pick me up at the pool tho? @ Jason'

As soon as she sent the message, she lifted herself from the water and snatched up her cap, phone and speaker. Entering the changing room, she began to peel off the suit, and pull on her clothing.
A grey crop top now clung to her drying skin, completed with a pair of jeans and a red and black flannel wrapped around her waist. Hair dripping and kicking on her tan boots, she collected her belongings and waited outside.
Amisi settled down on a bench outside of the pool area, taking in the scatter of leaves and winsome dying trees. Fall was definitely her favorite time of the year, as well as summer. They both provided adventure and a plethora of opportunities that you just couldn't witness from the bitter winter or the renewed spring - according to her anyhow.
Fall is enchanting and an alluring darkness, while summer is freedom and longer light.

Serena
After hanging up with Jason another call came through, someone with a song request this time. Serena happily played the song for them, picking up her vibrating phone. She smiled at the group's text, quickly sending one of her own. Her friends always found a way to entertain her; they were always getting into some sort of trouble together. If any of them ever had the same class together teachers knew immediately to separate them.

i'm locking you all out tbh

She moved from her chair, setting up a few songs to play while she got up, leaving the room and going to the front door. Serena wanted to make sure it was unlocked for everyone, despite her threat. Serena opened the door, stepping outside. It had gotten considerably colder since the last time she was out here, pulling her sweater tighter around her. Her eyes immediately found Joey, who was already half way down the block. She smiled, waving her arm, urging him to hurry up so she could shut the door, though she figured the others would be here soon enough to let the cold back into the building.

Jason
Jason didn't bother texting anyone back after he started driving. He cracked the driver's side window and made his way to the pool first, as that was on the way to Kana's house. He still hadn't gotten a text back from a few of his friends but he figured that they would find their way there, or he could always go back out for them. He turned the radio on, going through the channels until he found something to listen too. He pulled up to the pool, looking for Amisi. When he spotted her sitting out on a bench he beeped, though she probably already knew it was him, as he was the only running car in the lot.

He leaned over, opening the passenger side door for her to hop in. "Hey." He said, after she got in, "You haven't grown a tail yet? I have money on the fact that you will before the end of the year, so if you could hurry it up.." He trailed off, smiling at her. After she was settled in the car, Jason drove off towards Kana's house. The three of them could easily all fit up front, as long as Jason moved some of his mess from the middle seat. As he drove he pushed a few things to the floor, mostly empty water bottles, a few folders, and a shirt he wasn't sure how it ended up in the car. "Sorry to throw it all at your feet." He said, his tone hardly apologetic. As he pulled up to Kana's house he beeped for her too, forgetting the fact that he could've just texted her, but beeping was faster anyway.

Ally began feeling the cold breeze of autumn hover over her as she ran. She slowed her pace down as she wondered if she should've brought something warmer with her, in case the temperature dropped later. The girl even cast some hesitant looks over her shoulder, spotting her house in the distance.
The athlete eventually decided against it. She would already show up at the station hot from all the exercise and, if needed, she could always steal Joey's jacket. It didn't bother him. At least according to her.
Her jog eventually brought her to a street crossing. This was her landmark to tell her that she was halfway to the radio station, and the girl could already spot it from afar. She thought she could spot Serena standing at the door, but she couldn't be too sure.
Allegra went to cross the street, but the sounds of beeping and screeching tires overwhelmed the music playing in her ears, which made her heart skip a beat. The blond quickly snapped her head towards the origin of the sounds, and her eyes stared in horror as a man on a motorcycle braked so as to not hit her. Ally reflexively moved away from the bike, tripping over her own feet and falling.
Her head hit the asphalt with a thud and her phone flew out of her hoodie's pocket, damaging the headphone's cable. She hissed at the sharp pain right behind her head and winced, regaining her composure soon after. She raised herself with her elbows, casting a hurt look at whoever this guy was.
The man on the bike looked down at her. His helmet was gray and red and his visor was a solid black. He also wore a black leather jacket and jeans. Despite not being able to see his face, Ally could feel the man glaring at her.
After observing the fallen girl for a few more seconds, the man simply drove off without even looking back, leaving her on the ground. The girl shifted and stood up, still wincing at the pain. She spotted her phone on the ground and picked it up, putting it back in her pocket along with the headphones.
The athlete cast one more glare at the biker. "Asshole," she muttered under her breath as she hovered her fingers over her injury. Yikes, that was gonna leave a mark.
Patting the dust off her clothes, she resumed her trek, although her jog was noticeably slower. It didn't matter, seeing that the station was pretty close. As she pressed on, she wondered if there were any medical supplies at the station. She was sure Serena could patch her up or something.

Seeing the text from Jason letting everyone know we would be meeting up at the radio station she was in the middle of working out at the gym a couple blocks down she took a shower putting on a casual fitted purple dress with a thin black belt around it and a cute pair of purple and black heels.

She stopped at the grocery store picking up a bunch of snacks and soda because of course she was the snack master. She grabbed the bags and walked to her car putting the groceries in the passenger seat heading off to the station. After about a fifteen minute drive she parked her car and waited until she saw her friends pulled up. She grabbed her phone texting everyone in the group chat.

"I'm here guys, what's your eta?"

She waited outside in the car fixing her hair and makeup to not look like she sweated cats and dogs. she was hoping they'd get there soon

The walk was a lot shorter than Joey had expected. He knew he was near to the station, but it was barely a few minutes before he could see it in the distance. As he got closer, Serena stepped out of the station door, spotted him, and waved. He grinned and waved back, his arm high above his head. He was about to start running towards the station when there was a squealing sound behind him.

A man on a motorcycle sped past him, on the wrong side of the road to hit Joey's jaywalking ass. Joey looked back to see Allegra splayed on the road. In a panic, he ran towards her, sighing with relief when he saw her move. He helped her up.

"You okay?" He asked, helping her towards the radio station and wanting to shout insults after the motorcyclist.

Kana hadn't been waiting long when Jason pulled up outside her house. She could see Amisi was already in there, still wet from the swimming she'd doubtlessly been doing. Kana walked forward and climbed into the car, Jason beeping the horn at her.

"Hey," She said, pulling on the seatbelt. "You got any plans to ruin the broadcast?" She asked as she pulled out her phone and checked her texts. Other people had replied a lot. She read through the long list of texts, then replied.

Serena, you can try. She sent, and then, We'll be about ten mins, I think.

Logan Orme

Logan watched the conversation on her phone. Despite having not left the group chat she hadn't been around her friends in a long time. She missed them after graduating school early due to her parents death and her need to find a job and a new place to live she just hadn't had time to see them. After a while she had just muted the group chat, not entirely sure if they still wanted her around. However, she had been told by her boss (who was a pretty chill guy) that it was sad not seeing her with them. Their friendship group was well known around town and everyone had noted her absence from their antics.
Getting up from the couch, she quickly tapped out a reply, not entirely sure how they'd react to her finally responding. *Hey, I'll make my own way there if that's cool?* She hesitated before hitting send. They hadn't seen the place she lived now and she'd rather they didn't so she guessed she'd have to bike there. She'd moved to the other side of town and it would take her at least half an hour on her bike to get there.

Another message came through and it was from Logan. Erica was a bit surprised but super excited, she couldn’t remember the last time she seen her. So she sent a message back.

“Hey Logan! Of course we would love to see you girl! I can pick you up if you want?”

She was happy about seeing everyone...almost as happy as she was to have an excuse to leave the gym.

Ally was surprised to feel a gentle grasp around her arm as she got up. Her eyes darted up, landing on Joey's concerned frown.
"Oh... hi Joe," she mumbled as she used the boy to hoist herself up. The athlete took a minute to answer his question, taking one final glance at the direction the motorcyclist drove off to. She looked back at him, offering a strained smile. "Not dead yet."
That smile quickly faded as she hissed again. Now that her adrenaline was subsiding, she could feel her injury throbbing. She winced again, touching the injury and having the tips of her fingers being stained with droplets of blood.
She brought her fingers back to herself, looking at them. Then quickly wiping them off on her hoodie. "Yeah, I'm good," Ally spoke again, choosing not to tell Joey that she was bleeding. Not because she wanted to hide it from him, but just because she didn't want to bother.
The two of them continued on until they reached the station, with Joey holding her arm and Allegra reassuring him that she was fine. When they finally arrived, the blond greeted Serena with a smile, thinking that Joey would do the explaining for her.

Logan Orme

Logan read Erica's message and sighed. It would be easier than biking there but she wasn't exactly proud of where she lived now. She glanced around her shabby loft before signing. There was no way she wanted to bike to the other side of town and she could always get Erica to pick her up a block away at the old hospital. She wouldn't have to see how much she'd had to downgrade since her parents deaths. *Thanks Erica. Mind meeting me at the old hospital?* She quickly tapped out, hitting send before she could change her mind. She ran her fingers through her hair, forgetting they hadn't seen her with her dyed hair, and grabbed her jacket, heading for the door.

Erica looked back at the messages and gave a big smile "Of course babes, see ya soon!"
Erica started her car and put the groceries in the back seat and pulls up the gps for directions to the hospital. She pulls off once again from the station

After about fifteen minutes she pulls up at front of the hospital remembering all the spook stories we'd tell each other about the place.
"I'm here girlie...Black Honda Civic" She sent the message to Logan and waited turning on the radio blasting some music as she waited for her.

She sat back waiting checking herself in the mirror making sure she looked good. Especially because since works been crazy and she hasn't seen any of her friends for awhile, she was extremely excited but a bit nervous.

The familiar truck squeaked to a stop in front of the pool, causing the dirty blonde teen to lift her gaze. She had already got up and slung her bag over her shoulder when he had honked at her. She jutted her tongue out at him. "Yeah yeah, get stuffed." Amisi teased, that Australian accent prevailing despite living in Clearton for a couple of years.
She slid in, noticing the random objects in the middle seat. Amisi shrugged internally, not minding. She eventually felt some of the said items thump on the pickup floor, an empty plastic bottle rolling off her food.
"Sorry to throw it all at your feet"
Amisi let out a small laugh, rolling her eyes. "Mhm, its cool."

Meanwhile, her phone was buzzing in her bag, but she was too busy watching the scenery fade behind her, music playing softly in the vehicle.
Flicking her sea green eyes to the front, she took in Kanas house. Another smile slipped across her face, gathering her bag and scooting over so they could become a friend sandwich.
"You got any plans to ruin the broadcast?"
"Ruin? I think you mean liven it up. We're gonna dance, cobber (best friend)." She winked, already beginning to wiggle and sway back and forth a bit.

Serena
Serena glared after the man on the motorcycle before turning to Joey and Allegra. She knew a few people in town had motorcycles but didn't recognize the man, meaning he was probably only passing through. Who just almost runs someone over and then doesn't stop to check if they're okay? She smiled as the two came through the station door, "I don't think we have a first aid kit," she admitted, "though if we did it's probably from the 80's so you don't want it anyway." She assured, closing the door behind them. "But we do have band aids if you want some? Or an ice pack?" She asked her friend, leading them to the small break room situated with a fridge and a microwave.

Serena pulled out two ice packs, handing one to Allegra, "You can use the bathroom to wash the blood off, I'll find the band aids."

Serena handed the second ice pack to Joey before digging through a draw for the bandages, "You look like you could use one too, that bruise looks like it hurts." She said, shaking her head.

As she looked, she heard the station door open and a few voices call out that they were here. "If any of them come in here injured you're all going to the hospital." She said laughing, finally pulled the box of bandages out of the back of a cabinet.

Jason
Jason pulled up just as Erica was leaving again. He waved as he passed by, already knowing she was going to get Logan. It's been a while since everyone has hung out together, it'd be fun for everyone to cram into the broadcasting room, though Jason knew that there weren't enough chairs in the station for everyone to sit in. As everyone got out of the car, Jason stuck his keys in his pocket, not bothering to lock the truck. No one was going to rob it, or try to steal it. He couldn't remember the last time anything other than a few kids shoplifting had been reported to the police.

Jason pushed open the door to the station, holding it open for his friends, before following them in. "Yo!" He yelled out, the door falling shut behind him. He followed the voices he heard to the stations small break room seeing Serena, Allegra, and Joey standing there. "You head butt a wall or something?" He asked Allegra, hopping up on the counter next to the microwave, leaning on it for support.

"You sure?" Joey asked after Ally assured him that she was okay. He wasn't entirely sure what had happened, but if Ally actually got hit by the motorcycle she would not be 'good' at all. He saw the wince and the blood on her fingers when she checked her injury. She didn't mention it, so neither did he. It didn't look too bad, but bleeding was never a good sign. At least her head seemed fine. A concussion would be even worse. They reached the station together one car just leaving and another arriving, Serena also apparently having seen what happened. He recognised the truck as Jason's. He hadn't seen who else was in there.

Once inside, he let Serena take charge of looking after Ally, just following them. He'd gotten hurt a lot over the years, so Joey was decent at first aid when it was on himself. When it came to other people, he was hopeless. His bedside manner was horrible and he got too worked up to properly focus on helping them. To be fair, he'd caused a lot of the need for first aid on other people at the boxing club he went to. No one held it against him, people got hurt all the time when the activity of the club was literally punching each other. Then Serena turned to him, pointing out the bruise on his face.

"I got it from the club." He said it a little too quickly, referring to the boxing club. He quickly took the ice pack she was offering and used it to cover the bruise. As he did so, the front door to the station opened. As he laughed at Serena's joke, Jason, Amisi, and Kana found the room they were in. He waved with his free hand, stepping back to make room for them all. It wasn't a big room, and the radio station probably wasn't ever designed to have six people on break at once. Joey wasn't sure if it was designed to have six people in the building.

Kana laughed at Amisi's response. She was imagining going and distracting Serena, possibly getting in trouble again, when she got the invitation, but hanging out and dancing to the tunes playing also sounded fun. Kana realised she probably should have brought some snacks from her kitchen to make the whole thing more like a party, but it was too late for that now. There were a lot of Japanese foods her grandparents shipped over in their cupboards, so chances were the others would find the foods weird. Kana wasn't sure whether that would be a good or bad thing.

She waved to Erica as they passed her and hopped out the car as soon as it stopped, checking her phone. There were a few more messages. She decided to reply.

Can't wait to see you, Logan!

She hadn't known Logan much. Kana had only arrived in Clearton a year before Logan's parents had died. She'd tried to be there for her, but she understood why Logan wanted to be alone. it was good that she was joining them tonight, though. It was going to be a lot of fun. By the time she'd read all the texts and replied, the group had found the others in the break room. Kana looked up and only just stifled a gasp. Both Joey and Ally looked like they'd gotten in a fight or something, which actually wouldn't be unthinkable for either of them.

"Do you need help?" She asked both of them.

Logan Orme
Logan didn't bother rushing to the hospital, rounding the corner just as her phone buzzed telling her Erica was by the hospital and what her car looked like. She spotted it instantly, it being the only car that actually looked decent. Cars around her area tended to be beaten and old not clean and in almost perfect condition. Jogging to the passengers side, she checked it was her before opening the door.

"Hey Erica." She grinned at her friend. She'd missed them all dearly, some more than others, but she'd missed their company and how easy everything seemed when around them. Before her parents had died, whenever she hung out with them she'd always had a sense of freedom, like they could do anything. She missed that.

Erica smiled back at her. “Hey girl get on in here!” Erica turned down the radio as she got in hugging her. “ I missed you so much” she gave Logan a closer look recognizing something was different. Her eyes widened “omg your hair Logan” she then squealed with amazement “I freaking love it!” She put her car in drive making her way back to the radio station “So..how you been baby girl?” Erica knew she had it hard since her parents died so she made sure to be careful how she said or worded things. She was also excited to see the awesome little makeover Logan had especially being the first one to see it.

— KIERAN O'SHEA

He cast half an eye over the workbook that Cat, standing arms folded in the doorway of his room, had tossed before him. Sitting on the floor in the overlap of the yellow lamp-light and the dull blue glow of the sky outside, he raised an eyebrow and half a smirk as he looked back over to her, sighing theatrically as he grabbed the accompanying pencil from where it had rolled and scrawled the correct equation down the side of the page before throwing it gracelessly back at her feet in a flurry of paper.
"You're so welcome."
She snorted in amusement as she swiped it off the ground, pulling a face at him that he mimicked as she ducked out of the room.
"You're hilarious, Kieran," she called from down the corridor, shutting her door with a resolute slam before he had a chance to respond. A dry smile pulled briefly at his features as he returned to his phone. But his eyes were tired from reading drama all day; he dragged a hand down the side of his face before rising, grabbing a fresh towel off the end of his bed and making his way to the shower, bare feet all but noiseless on the wooden boards.

He saw the messages almost as soon as he returned, towelling off his hair as he grabbed his phone from where he'd left it on the floor. He didn't hesitate before sending a message back.

ill be there 10 mins tops. if u start without me is2fg

He dressed quickly, pale blue rain-jacket over a black hoodie, and was out the door in barely a few minutes, slamming it shut behind him. That would be loud enough notice. Pulling his hood up against the cold, he went to take his bike gearless deathtrap from the side of the house, hopping up on the pedals with all his weight and steering it past the mirror-black S-Class Merc in the drive and onto the road. His house was just a little way out, so he'd need to make up for some time.

He saw immediately that Jason's pickup was already there, and so, no doubt, were several others; standing up on the pedals, he bounced the front wheel up onto the curb, swinging his leg over and stepping straight off. He jogged a little to slow, and tossed the bike against the side of the truck as he passed. Barely breaking his stride, he dusted off his hands and entered the darkened doorway of the radio station.

The voices and warm, fluorescent light spilling down the corridor led him straight to the breakroom, where, as he immediately noted, most had already gathered. Only two missing. A bleach-white grin spread across his features.
"Ah, almost all my favourite people," he announced, sing-song accent lightly colouring his words as he went to lean against the counter-top. "Don't tell me, Ally - you're now part of Joey's Fight Club. Hey Mouse, Kana, Serena - Jason, I'm actually proud that that sorry excuse for a vehicle outside still works. Seriously, guys, how long has it been since we've done this?"

As he spoke, he reached into a cabinet behind him, pulling out a pack of salted pistachios that he began to cheerfully crack open. Ever the stereotypical extrovert, seeing the group had actually returned some energy to him.
As it turns out, his empty Friday afternoon wasn't so empty after all.

Logan Orme
Logan happily returned the hug, laughing softly. "I missed you too." She smiled, glad she wasn't acting awkwardly around her. A lot of people had a habit of treating her as though she was about to break after her parents. She laughed when she noticed her hair, wrapping a tendril of it around her finger. "Oh yeah. I forgot you guys haven't seen it yet. I decided I wanted a change and this happened." She was trying to ignore her anxiousness at seeing her friends again as they headed to the radio station, causing her to shift uncomfortably in her seat. Glancing at her driver when she asked how she was, she smiled and shrugged. "I'm...stable. Managing to keep myself afloat. It feels good knowing I'm going to hang out with you guys again. How have you been?"

AMISI "MOUSY" WENCK
  • P O S T
A smile continued to grace her features, glancing between her two friends before the truck came to a stop. Jason was the first to hop out, with Kana second and Amisi sliding out last. She gently shut his door, afraid that it could possibly break or she would face a discontented Jason. She wasn't very fond of personally making her friends feel terrible. If Amisi would willingly engage with someone messing with her friends, she'd do likewise to herself.. Well, she would just mentally beat herself up about it and do whatever she could to apologize or make it up to them. She's undyingly loyal like a puppy.

The smile soon diminished as she noticed wounded friends. "You mates ok..?" She asked, slowly stepping forward. She was planning on excitedly tackling them in hugs, but it appeared that it wouldn't be exactly helpful at the moment.
Instead, she ruffled Allegras hair and pecked the top of her head, hugged Joeys arm and then embraced Serena.
"Hey, I'm willing to ruff up whatever dimwits did this to you guys." The Aussie offered with a playful smile, but she was serious.

"Ah, almost all my favourite people,"
"Friend!" Amisi grinned, running towards Kieran and hugging him as well. Her head rest on his chest as she squeezed him, before pulling away.
"Man, this is sweet as (awesome)" The ombre haired girl cheered. "Now for the other two and this is gonna be ripper (Great)!" Another grin broke across her face, sea green gaze sweeping across the incomplete group. "Its been awhile since we've all been together, yeah?" She sighed softly, life still dancing across her eyes as she leaned against the wall.

Serena
Serena wasn't going to lecture Joey, as she had when he first started going to the boxing club, knowing it wouldn't stop him from going and that it did help him in someway. So instead she smiled at him, rolling her eyes, before turning her attention to everyone that walked in the door. Despite not being an overly affectionate person, Serena hugged her back. "It really has been a while since we were all together, hasn't it?" Serena agreed, though not everyone was here yet she knew they would be soon, then she knew the trouble would really begin. She would have to make sure they were on their best behavior if they hijacked the radio from her (which, Serena knew, was more than likely going to happen at some point or another). She moved to stand at the entrance to the break room, wondering how on Earth everyone was managing to squish themselves in there. On the way through everybody, Serena reached out towards Kieran, plucking the pistachios out of his hand, "These aren't yours." She said, grinning as she popped a few in her mouth before handing them back to him. While they weren't his, she didn't know who's they were, and since they were just sitting in the cabinets, it made them fair game to whoever came across them. Serena was about to say something else when she heard the distant sound of a phone ringing, meaning more callers were trying to get through.

"Can we moved this to the broadcasting room?" Without waiting for an answer, she moved towards the room, knowing she probably wouldn't make it in time to answer the phone. She quickly sent a text to Logan and Erica, letting them know the station door was open and to just come in when they got here.

Jason
Jason narrowed his eyes at Kieran, not really angry, but took on a tone that anyone other than his friends would assume he meant business, "Watch me not drive your ass anywhere ever again." He shrugged cooly, hopping off the counter he was sitting on, and following his friends to the broadcasting room. He made himself comfortable on the floor, his back leaning against the wall next to the door. This room was big enough to hold all his friends, but most of them would have to sit on the floor or stand, as there were only two chairs: Serena's and another one, folded up on the other side of the room, and if he knew anything about Serena it's that she wasn't going to give up her seat without a fight, and if he knew anything about the rest of his friends he knew it'd be a battle to get the other chair and he wanted no part in it.

"So what are we talking about on the radio tonight?" He asked, looking around at his friends. The last time they were at the radio station they made their own little show, letting people call in so they could get the groups advice. It wasn't the best advice around but it was still funny; especially when the exasperated caller hung up on them after hearing their brutally honest opinions.

Joey lurched forward and snatched the pistachios out of the air as Serena threw them back to Kieran. He put the ice pack down, sticking his tongue out out Kieran and beginning to eat the snacks. He made his way out of the room as well, leaning on the wall and watching the others go about their business. He craned his neck, watching Serena walk to the broadcast room before turning his attention back to the rest of the group. He thought for a second before holding out the pistachios for anyone to take.

"We could try for a War Of The Worlds thing. Whip the town up into a panic." He suggested. Joey'd heard of the original War of the Worlds broadcast from his father, he couldn't remember exactly when. Someone had decided to read the book out on the radio, the whole story, and people who listened had thought it was real. A panic was induced as people began to believe martians were actually invading. The idea sounded kinda stupid, but Joey wanted to see if it could happen.

"We could tell everyone that the water's infected with, uh..." he paused to think, "di...hydrogen...monoxide, I think..." He stared down at the floor, checking he'd gotten what he was saying right.

Kana ducked under everyone else, following Serena out of the break room. She gently nudged Ally on her way past, making eye contact and silently asking if she was okay and telling her she was there for her. Ally might not have gotten the message. Kana usually did it with her mother and some of her old Japanese friends. She hadn't had as much time to create a silent communication with her new friends here, but she hoped they understood her meaning. With a final smile, she jogged to catch the door to the broadcast room before it shut and join Serena. She moved across the room and leaned on the desk, looking over the computer. She didn't really understand what much of it was.

"We haven't hung out much lately." Kana said, moving back to hover by the desk instead of leaning. "So, what's new with you guys?" She asked them.

Allegra Sauvagess
Location: Radio Station

"Thanks, Rena." Allegra didn't hesitate to take the ice pack in the girl's hand, applying it to the injury. She cringed as the ice made contact with her injury before her expression soothed a bit.
Amisi, Jason and Kana came through the door, each one with their characteristic smiles. In turn, Ally greeted each of them with her smile. When Kana had asked the blonde if she needed help, she waved a hand at her, dismissing her offer with the gentlest smile she could muster. Ally also noticed Amisi's concern, but didn't say anything, pressing the ice pack firmer on her injury.
Then Kieran showed up and, as Ally expected, made a sarcastic comment about her situation. The girl faked a laugh and replied, tone full of venom, "Bite me" as Amisi ruffled her already indomitable hair and pecked her head. She was still irritated with the near-but-not-quite-near-death experience she had a few minutes ago and with the girl not being so fond of the Irish man, it would definitely annoy her more.
Ally stood up for a moment, intending to grab the pistachios for her, but hastily decided against it and fell to her seat once more. Now that most of the group was here, one thing was very noticeable: Allegra was the shortest one there. Standing at 5'2", not only did she act like a child, she looked like one too, and anyone could easily tower over her.
Another reason to not like Kieran.
As Serena asked the others to move the party over to the broadcasting room, Ally instead opted to stay in her seat. As they walked past and into said room, Kama gave her a little nudge. She didn't know why, but pretended to.
Allegra gently rested her head on the wall, her fingers freezing as they gripped the ice pack, and closed her eyes. She was soon lost in her own thoughts, the others' voices becoming muffled and distant. The few times Allegra wasn't looking at everything around her and actually gave her brain a moment to rest, her mind would unconsciously waver over to her brother. Ally would think a lot about him. How different their lives would be if he was normal. How different her life would be if she wasn't constantly lampshaded by him. The blonde knew it wasn't his fault - or anyone's fault, for that matter - but at the same time, she couldn't help but hate him because she didn't get the recognition she thought she deserved.
This was also an ongoing thing with her friends. She felt the need to prove herself to them time and time again and even if the two of them got together well, Amisi genuinely scared her. In her eyes, Amisi was Ally's biggest threat to her reputation, and this was even present in school, where the others discussed whether the Aussie was faster than her. Allegra simply couldn't help it. She worked too hard for her reputation, ate too much shit for it. She wasn't about to lose it.
