Joseph is a Clearton lad, born and raised. He's the youngest of two, though he isn't entirely sure he and his brother have the same mother. He doesn't remember exactly, but his brother tells him that his mother left before Joey's first birthday. Their father had to work hard to support two boys and himself, so he was hardly ever home. From a young age, Joey was looked after by his neighbours and his brother, none of whom were incredibly good role models. All in all, it was a pretty normal childhood for a latchkey kid.
It was when Joey was thirteen that his father was killed in an accident at work. It was a bad time for Joey and his brother. They were legally allowed to stay together since Joey's brother was nineteen and in employment., but Joey started to become a little more withdrawn and more tired at school. He also joined a local boxing club in the next few months, saying he needed an outlet for his frustrations. He's never been amazing, always having a variety of injuries. Despite everything, he was still pretty popular at school due to his charming and friendly nature.
Though he has plenty of friends at school, he value this group most highly, spending a lot of time with them after school and on the weekends. He's very supportive of them all and particularly likes to discuss university possibilities with Serena,

Kana lived in Kyoto, Japan for most of her childhood with her mother and father. She was mostly average, getting good grades and joining clubs and participating in festivals. She was in the music club, guitar being one of her favourite hobbies. Spending time with friends during and after school was also something she did a lot of, all of them hanging around at the skate park. She and her parents also spent a lot of time together when they could. They went to baseball games as a family a lot, cheering for their favourite team.
Kana's father died, about three years ago, to an illness. It was a tough time for her and her mother. They got through it slowly, and in the next year, Kana's mother was offered a job away from their hometown. She accepted, eager to move away from bad memories. They both assumed it would be some other Japanese city, so they were both shocked when they had to move to Clearton.
Despite having learnt English at school, Kana still got a lot of flack in her first year in Clearton for her accent. It caused a lack of confidence, so it took Kana a while to make any friends, but eventually she met the others and has since joined their squad.​

Personality: Allegra is a carefree and excitable girl. She gets along with just about everyone and she has a contagious enthusiasm that's hard to dismiss. She's bold, loud and doesn't care about what people think of her, comfortable with her own self-image of a cool gal.

Allegra oftens struggles with rules and regulations. She can follow them, sure, but she'd really rather not, and the girl doesn't really seem to grasp the concept of responsability. She's often running into trouble with her teachers for not turning her homework in or completing her assignments. Ally definetly has a certain reputation in school: while being semi-popular for being the best athlete in the Track & Field team, she's also somewhat notorious with teachers and more serious students alike.

Biography: Allegra was born as the younger sibling to her twin brother. Her brother was diagnosed with autism before they were one year old, which immediately shifted the equal attention and care they both received to a disproportionate caring focused solely on her brother. As she grew up, Ally understood why this was, but it doesn't change the fact that she practically drew the short end of the stick from the moment she was born.
Throughout the years she eventually became accostumed to this, but she began resenting her parents, and by association, disliking authority. She would disobey her parents, fail to bring in her homework and would even talk back to teachers. This made her parents become much stricter with her, which annoyed and frustrated her to the point of tears.
She wanted to escape. She wanted a getaway. Her grades were plummeting and she had no interest in learning. The only thing she was good at in school now was P.E. The coach noticed how much more dedicated she was than previously, and saw potential in her. He got to know Allegra, what kind of girl she was and her struggles, and he suggested she should pick a sport to practice regularly, and that he could even train her. She chose Track & Field.
From there onwards, it's pretty simple. The coach trained her, she became better and better, she vented her frustrations through exercise and even won the gold medal in long sprint in the interscholar competition held at the school. It was around this time that she had earned the nickname Speedy and relative fame in school, and honestly? She couldn't be happier.

[Description] Amisi has yearned for adventure since she was young, having this natural curiosity within her. However, her curiosity got her into trouble at times. Her impulsiveness combined with that didn't help whatsoever. With her impulse, stubborn-ess, and blind "courage", she got into many physical fights. She is quite the good friend though - depending on your definition of 'good friend' - Amisi can be quite protective of them, a sort of mama bear figure. Not only that, but she can be blindingly loyal to them, even if they don't really deserve it (i.e. talking shit behind her back/ not really her friend) When first meeting her, she comes off as a chill and down-to-earth sort of person. She won't really speak up as much, unless spoken to. Being surrounded by friends is a different story however. [Brief] Amisi was born in Australia, daughter to two loving parents, a successful business owner (Ashton) and an Egyptian woman (Eshe). From a young age, she always had a love for adventuring and the Indiana Jones series. She inspired to be him in fact. Her parents convinced her that if she wanted to be Indiana Jones, she had to be good in school and do something physical. So, that she pursued. Amisi excelled wonderfully in History, a top swimmer at her school and part of a dance squad. At the age of 15, that changed. Her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. Everything then on had went downhill for them. Her father became an alcoholic when away from his wife, Amisis grades dropping.. A few months later, she passed away. It took awhile for them to adjust, but slowly and surely they were able to drop the beer bottle and smile at eachother. At 16, they moved to where her father had grown up, a small and gloomy town named Clearton. Fortunately, she was top-swimmer there (although it wasn't that impressive). Unfortunately, she had to take dance lessons online since they had no squad. All in all, she adjusted well for being the strange, new girl.

Serena lives with her dad and her younger brother, her mother left them soon after her brother was born, citing the fact that she needed to live a different life than the one she had been living in Clearton. Serena hadn't gotten along with her mother so she kind of expected it when she left. They talk about once or twice a year, despite the fact that Serena wants nothing to do with her. Serena is a very private person and doesn't like to talk about the things going on in her life, even with friends. She's always been a very shy person around new people but with her friends she's able to let loose a little though she still is a fairly quiet and reserved person. Which is why she was shocked when she realized how much she liked talking on the radio. Working at the radio station helped her come out of her shell a bit as she started to talk on the radio with a few segments the owner let her do. She usually works the night shift and occasionally an early morning shift if another host is running late or can't make it in.

She’s a pretty average student in school and plans to go to college far away from home. And that’s not because she doesn’t love her home, she loves the ocean and the sorry excuse for the beach, she loves working at the radio station and she loves the people that live there. But she wants the experience. She wants to know what the rest of the world is like. Travel has always been a dream of hers and she plans to figure out a way she can incorporate it into a job. Serena loves conspiracy theories and mysteries, constantly listening to podcasts about unsolved mysteries and reading about missing people that have never been found, so when this one lands in her lap she’s more than ready to start recruiting her friends to help her find out what’s going on.

Jason was one of those kids that knew what they wanted to be when they grow up. He's the kind of person to know what he wants period. His whole life he's been drawing buildings, trying to build them. He wants to be and architect and wants to be a good one. So he makes sure his grades are as good as they can possibly be. He's extremely lucky and extremely grateful that his parents support him. He has an older brother who went away to college two years ago who, even before he left, Jason wasn't really close too. Jason is the kind of person who isn't afraid to give you an honest opinion on something, though he's not mean with his opinions, just...open. He can be very stubborn, especially if he doesn't believe in something, for example, discussions about religion are futile, he doesn't want to know your opinion because he believes it's wrong. He's trying to rein that in a bit though as he know's it's quite annoying. He's glad he found a small group of people that he gets along with because he believes if it wasn't for them he wouldn't have any friends. He can be a bit pretentious, especially when talking about books he's read. But he is a friendly person who tries to bring fun into everything he does.

Name: Erica Taylor

Background/Personality:​

Erica was born in a huge city and was a single child. They were far from poor and the family was never struggling financially. however, they hid their wealth from their daughter as best as they could because they made her understand education was the key to a better life. She was a perfect student, and she was always complimented about being the brightest in her classes.


This continued until highschool, and she started realizing she was missing out on social events, like dances and parties. She hadn't even had a boyfriend since she was so focused on studies. India suddenly felt robbed of her childhood.


She dropped her Nerdy Girl persona and started slacking off a bit. She started wearing makeup, joined the dance team, and she attracted the eye of a long time crush. Her parents accepted that this would happen one day and they tolerated it until she started to get reckless in her junior year of highschool. She started doing drugs and staying out late or not even returning home until the next day smelling of weed and alcohol. It became clear she lost something else besides her mind as well, and her parents were concerned.


She started selling coke for extra cash, simply telling herself it was alright to do because it was supporting her family.


However, her mother got breast cancer, and she wasn't lucky. Her death caused India to realize a few things. She mourned her mother, and she decided she wanted to make her mother proud. She started getting on track with their schoolwork, and they got in shape for Cheer & Dance season and was one of the greatest people on the team

Background/Personality:
Logan grew up rather happily as an only child. Her parents loved her and despite many arguments between her parents they stayed strong for her. She was always a daddy's girl, preferring to go fishing or learning to skateboard with her father over dressing up or playing with dolls. Due to this the mother and daughter never really connected causing the child to always prefer her father. Her grades were always good and she frequently competed in and won skateboarding competitions. Her parents were proud of her and despite not having many friends she was happy. She was joyful and friendly with a good sense of humour despite being overly sarcastic. She was intending to go to college to study psychology. However a few months before graduating high school her parents were in a car crash, killing both her parents. Since then she has changed dramatically. She appears cold and argumentative, easily agitated and her sarcasm very easily comes across as cruel. She gave up on college dreams, using all her money on funeral costs, and instead found a job. She currently lives alone, most people avoiding her now.

BACKGROUND

Only a faint vestige of a Dublin accent is left in his voice, as is, perhaps, fitting. His parents moved with him and his older brother, Owen, three years after his sister Catrina was born, 5 and 8 years of age respectively, back to the island where his mother could trace her distant heritage. It's no big secret that it's one of his father's biggest regrets, but he uses his job as CEO of an international marketing corporation to leave whenever he can. Any old excuse will do. But it's a surprisingly peaceful household, now that his brother's gone abroad, at least. And ignoring the friction that sparks between Kieran and his father every time they interact. If Clearton is his biggest regret, then Kieran surely comes in second. He just can't win.

It rubs off on his mother, to some extent, but certainly not to the same degree. You could say she's the more easy-going of the two, though no less iron-willed, spending her days sculpting clay, painting the beach and playing guitar out on the deck as the sun travels the sky. Unlike his younger sister, Kieran's inherited precisely none of his mother's artistic talent. Quite the opposite, in fact. He has a brain ruled by logic that runs on the border of sheer mathematical brilliance, but this comes in exchange for the rest of his subjects; with the usual exclusion of physics (and long distance events, but don't expect him to ever turn up at practice), they have the tendency to just scrape on average. He's too proud to try.

He's rather directionless right now. To be fair, he has been most of his life, but with the increasing years upon this island, he's feeling it now more than ever.

PERSONALITY

You'd expect someone so alarmingly gifted with numbers to be a lover of precision and order, although this probably couldn't be further from the truth. He has an ongoing vendetta against excessive organisation, and will probably go out of his way to put something back into disarray. His erratic emotional state is a fair reflection. As short-fused as his father, he's no stranger to conflict. In fact, he's a more an instigator; he'll start drama for the sake of drama out of nothing more than boredom, the basis, unsurprisingly, of most of his many ongoing feuds throughout the school. Maybe he's a bit of pathological liar, but his excellent memory usually lets him get away with it. (Usually.) Emotional half-measures just aren't a thing with him - he has little capacity for objectivity or detachment, after all.

But the generous, playful underside of his personality softens the worst of his hotheaded theatrics, which are notably at their least when he's amongst actual friends. He has occasional moments of surprisingly affectionate clarity with those closest to him, and a way of making anyone he speaks to feel as if they're the only one in the world. For a time, at least. Probably one of the few vital reasons as to why he still actually has any friends left. But he's surprisingly popular around school, considering how many people he's pissed off over the years; his vibrant, extroverted magnetism, of a kind, makes him both easy and maddeningly difficult to hate. He's notorious, at the very least, but he chose this group and he intends to stick around. Needless to say, it's rather intense to be around him for long. Kieran is many things, but dull, at least, is not one of them.

▷ His dog, Nuadha (x); a 3-year-old Beauceron that basically owns his heart, body and soul, with whom he goes running in the mornings and walks every night. Technically the family dog, but unfalteringly loyal (and essentially a second shadow) to Kieran alone, having been the one to train him since he was a puppy. A fiercely protective companion, and possibly the only being that Kieran shows any real consistency with. Decidedly reserved with strangers, but attentive and gentle with people Kieran spends a lot of time around.

[Description] Seiji is a mixture of an extrovert and an introvert. With that being said, he can be rather reserved with himself, but will be taboo and rebellious at times. By taboo, I mean bring up uncomfortable but true events/points that no one wants to discuss in the classroom.. especially in this town. He likes to challenge that and see how far authority and peers will put themselves out of that comfort zone and talk about the real problems. - Another taboo from his culture as well is mental illness. His parents rare to none talk about it, just like many in Japan. - He likes to analyze, sit back and observe. He thinks a lot and is like a shitty philosophy professor at times. - Seiji overall seems like a laid back sort of guy, with a pinch of that 'edge'. He tries to conceal his emotions, but his anger/irritation can be scrawled all over his face. In this instance he would distance himself and not speak to another for awhile. Seiji wants to make it seem like he needs his space, not wanting to come off as clingy and weak. - Surprisingly, he can be a rather romantic and sweet guy. He can be very mushy and soft, like a big, sad, teddy bear. - Despite his plethora of unhealthy habits when it comes to his mental health, he actually expresses himself through music. Seiji takes his feelings (sadness, love, anger, etc) and turns it into music and has a vision for it and himself. One of the few things he is determined - and maybe even obsessed with - is that. He is a creative man clinging onto that dream since he was a child, and hopes he will gain at least an inch of fame.

[Brief] Seiji was born and raised in Japan. His parents both worked mundane but stable office jobs that began to strain on their lives. Busy and seemingly lifeless, they began to seek another job, and maybe even move somewhere else. Seiji was very opposed to this, seen as he had friends here and was comfortable.. Sort of. Seiji was diagnosed with major depressive disorder when he was 14 and his parents didn't seem to take it as seriously. They did know that he needed some sort of 'help' though. With that in mind, along with money, they found better jobs in a small island called Clearton. Seiji began to act out in school, feeling as if his parents didn't really care about his own interests. His bursts only encouraged them to change schools. So, they moved in to Clearton towards the end of his 8th grade year. With his parents diving back into that busy cycle once more, his teenage angst and mental illness, he struggled in school. That led him being held back his Freshmen year, but hey, that's how he met his friends. His relationship with his parents is slowly beginning to get better, like how it used to be when he was a child.
