Empress of Potatoes
It has been centuries since the Order was created and became the Academy. The new term would soon start and new and returning students were making the journey to the academy. The large castle like structure would easily be seen by students arriving on foot, on the water or coming down from the air. Upon arrival students will collect their room assignments as well as a map of the Academy in the front courtyard. They are given the rest of the time to settle in and explore. Walking inside they are greeted with the grand front hall of the Academy. It has high ceilings and a grand staircase that leads to many of the hallways on the second floor where most of the bedrooms are located as well as other stair cases that provide access to the upper levels of the castle. The first floor hallways branch off to the great hall which is used as the dining hall. It has the same high ceilings as well as stained glass windows which take up just about the whole wall. On the first floor the students can also find the library, lounges, the green house, as well as some of the classrooms. Artifacts from the adventures and travels of the original Order can be found on display all over the Academy. Outside of the Academy is where students will find the training grounds for magic is as well as non- magic use. On the edges of the campus is the dragon care facility for returning students to safely keep their dragons. There, dragons can rest, roam the area freely, and receive all the care they need to be comfortable.

A new term has started and students from all over the world are arriving to develop their skills. At the end of the term new students will be sent off on their own with what they have learned to make the journey to find their dragons. Coming to the Academy is like stepping into a new world for most of the students. They will be exposed to things no normal being would in their lifetime.

Lyca
It was a hard good bye. The week coming to her departure for the Academy was filled with good byes and good lucks from her neighbors. Some gave her gifts. They were just things that they had made that she could also use on her journey: a knife, though she didn’t think she would ever use it, a leather pouch for coins or small items, they had even made her a few articles of clothing she could wear on her travels or during the term. Lyca was grateful for everything and when she made her final farewells she turned down the path to begin the journey. It her take her a few weeks to reach her destination. during the last stretch of her travels, her path crossed with that of another student mage making their way to the Academy. Lyca had spent the majority of it alone so it was nice to have some company for the last bit. She grinned as the castle slowly came into view from behind the trees. As they got closer, Lyca and her short term traveling partner parted ways. Lyca had stood there for a moment to simply take it all in. She was here, the Academy for young Mages. After taking a deep breath she walked forward towards the courtyard to get the information she needed.

Elia
when the moon was high, Elia began her journey. She had simply collected her belongings and left the interior of the mountains. It took her a day or two to complete the hike down the mountain, but when she entered the forest it got easier. It surprised her a little how refreshing the journey felt. She had been alone in the mountains before but not like this. In the mountains she was never more than ten feet away from her village. Out here, it was just her, and she like it. She tried not to think about how at the end of the journey she would no longer be alone. She would just enjoy the moment as it was. At night, when she would find somewhere to settle and camp, she would take a moment to enjoy the silence. The stars were different out in the woods. A couple of weeks later her journey would come to an end and the Academy would come into view. Elia did want to be here; she wanted to explore her magic more than she was able to back at home. As she approached the courtyard she saw a small line forming in front of a table. Elia adjusted the bag that hung around her shoulder before taking her place in line to wait for the necessary information they were giving.

EKIC QLACK

Skies above the Academy -> Academy Courtyard

Approaching the Academy (open to interaction, technically, but with opportunities for Mari_Rose Mari_Rose if they want?)
The sun was barely coming up across the horizon, not even ten minutes after dawn broke, and shone weakly onto Ekic's dull coloured feathers. He gazed into his mentor's eyes - the village elder - before finally nodding. No words were needed to be said. Not between master and apprentice. It was finally time for Ekic to leave, to embark on the next step of his journey. It may not sound such a glamorous step, simply going to an academy, but even the smallest adventure in life was important. Even the weakest winds caused flight, as his master always said. After placing one muscled arm over his chest, bowing slightly in salute, Ekic nodded. His master returned the gesture, before speaking in a very rough, harsh voice - yet, a one that brimmed with clear wisdom. "Favoured winds, my child." Ekic smiled, as difficult as that was with a beak, and returned. "Favoured winds, sir." Ekic had already bid his parents farewell, but he wante dto make sure that he saw his master before he left. It was he who taught him everything he knew so far - not just how to fight like a true Aarakocra, but also how to be a real man. Lessons to help him in his journey through life.

With his final goodbye said, Ekic spread his massive wings and leapt off of the mountaintop platform. All Aarakocran houses were built on the side of a mountain, suspended with hundreds of ropes, to give easy access when it came to flying. The winds up here were ideal for getting around quickly, and speed and agility were favoured amongst the bird-like folk. Besides, living like this often reminded the older folk of their true home - the Elemental Plane of Air - and tradition died hard amongst the avian men. So, Ekic took off - with only a small bag in his possession, and the topaz gemstone he was hatched with around his neck. The topaz that was the very reason he was even leaving the village at all. The sign of a mage. From the high mountaintops, and with some expert gliding, Ekic made it quite far without even needing to flap his wings, simply opting to use the mountain winds to keep him in the air. Even without wind magic, Aarakocrans were able to travel for kilometres on end without needing to exert effort to keep themselves in the air - their wings were designed for long distance travel.

Eventually, after many days of flight and rest, Ekic found himself nearing the castle that called itself an Academy. Where he was to live for the next...well, who knew how long he would be there for? Truth be told, the village elder told him very little of the place he was expected to learn his magic at. Perhaps the elder simply did not know himself, or refrained from telling him for whatever reason. Oh well. It was far too late to turn back now.

So, with that, he landed softly, causing a few gasps of surprise from some startled students, before looking up to the building in front of him. It was stone, yet nothing like the mountain he lived on. It seemed more like a fortress to him than a school, though when it came to magic and dragons perhaps the two needed to be the same. Who knew what magic would be being used in this place? Ekic had a feeling wind magic was probably going to be the least destructive, by far. His talons clacked gently on the stone floor as he adjusted his wings so that they were folded behind him. His keen avian eyes soon locked with a table displaying information about the academy - truth be told, he saw it before he even landed - and walked to join the queue that had formed. The birdman felt quite out of place, his long legs giving him height where his body didn't (honestly, if he had human legs, he'd only be about 5 foot but in actuality at full height he was closer to 6 foot). His eyes constantly darted to everyone nearby as he lined up behind a girl, awaiting his turn.

Lyca The Fabulous Emerald The Fabulous Emerald

The red headed satyr found herself a place in line. Her hands clutched the leather back pack that sat on her shoulder. Unlike the other students, this was the only bag she carried with her. It was a gift from a mage that visited her village often. He had enchanted it so it was able to hold any number of items without the added weight. Even with the enchantment she found herself packing light. As she stood in line reality began to set in for her. When she first saw the Academy for herself it seemed surreal. Now she was in line for her room assignment, and a map, only feet away from the grand front entrance. Lyca still half expected to wake up the next morning and find that this was all a dream. She brought her hand up to her right ear. A small smile formed on her lips when she felt the emerald earring still there. It reminded her of who she was and why she was here.

Lyca’s thoughts were broken when she heard the voices around her become a low whisper. When she looked around it seemed like their eyes were locked onto her? No... her kind wasn’t that unknown. And even though he legs weren’t exactly human, she had notice that their focus wasn’t down towards the ground, it was up. Lyca turned to see what everyone was gawking at and as soon as she did she realized the subject of everyone’s stares was much closer to her than she thought. Her eyes turned upward to see the bird like being towering over her. “So tall...” lyca mummbled. Her eyes widened a little as she realized her thought was spoken outloud. “Oh! Uh.. I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to say that” Lyca said and moved some hair behind her ear.

Replying to Lyca ( Mari_Rose Mari_Rose )

Looking around, Ekic noticed that the girl in front of him seemed to be one of the land dwelling folk they call satyrs. Or, at least, something similar. Honestly, he didn't really know much about those that remained on land - actually, he didn't know much about those in air, either, other than the Aarakocran. He knew his kind weren't the only bird like people around, though he could see any others in the line in front of him. The wings would be a telltale sign, for sure. Quickly scanning the woman, his yellow and black eyes darting back and forth between her features, he chuckled to himself quietly. How odd it is, to be growing 'horns' out of her head. And those legs...how could one walk with no toes - clawed or otherwise? It baffled the bird man, though he simply shook the thoughts away. What did he know? Surely, he was a marvel to look at for those who did not know his race; which was many, considering that they rarely interacted with others.

So, after a few moments, Ekic turned his gaze away. Though, as he did, he noticed others staring at him. So, he was right about him being new and odd to others. As his head twitched from one to another, he heard a small voice coming from the satyr. Looking down, he cocked his head at her words, before speaking himself. "Do not worry about it, hmm? There is no harm done. Honestly, you are just as curious to me as I'm sure I am to you."

Lyca Dorus The Fabulous Emerald The Fabulous Emerald

“Really?“ Lyca asked and tilted her head. Seconds later she answered her own question as she remembered her throughts prior to their interaction. “Yea, I suppose your right” she responded with a smile. She had seen many a being travel through her village though non that looked like him. That is something that could be different for others depending on where they were from. This school would bring on more new experiences than just those related to magic or fighting. “I’m Lyca, Lyca Dorus. But Dorus is my last name, you can just call me Lyca” she said with an awkward chuckle before holding her hand out for him to shake. She was certainly much better at communicating with strangers when she was selling her father’s jewlery to them. Lyca did give herself a mental pat on the back; it wasn’t the most alward introduction she’s ever made, after all, they were all in a strange place filled with even stranger people.

Riv Alto
Riv had his traveling garbs on and was preparing for the trip to the academy his mom told him he was going to the academy and he already said goodbye to his family before heading off to his carriage. He was wondering why couldn't he just fly their but his mother and a few of his sisters insisted on him taking a carriage since it would allow him to sleep on the way there. His mother also added a few fae guards to the escort carriage he didn't really know why he was perfectly capable of destroying anyone that attacked him but he knew his mother could be paranoid at times sometimes he was too. He started thinking about the new school he would be going to and what would it be like would it be fun, chaos or some sorta iron fist headmaster ruled school usually people were always willing to give him info on stuff but his mother and the council were different stories they were really quite and usually dodged most of his questions he never really pushed for answers though although having them would of been nice. After about a week of riding in the carriage and thinking to himself, he fell asleep only to later automatically wake up when the carriage came to a stop in front of a courtyard with a ton of people Riv frowned when he saw how many people were there as the carriage guards opened the carriage door for him, he let out a sigh as he walks out of his carriage and stretching his limbs after being stuck in their for what he considered a long time he let out a low yawn before waving away his carriage which caused his guards to bow and leave. The fact that a carriage arrived did attract a few stairs from those in the court yard he was mostly annoyed by them mainly cause he just woke up and he was unusually cranky when first waking up, then he sighed and started walking as he made his way towards the courtyard in order to get the info he would need.

Talking to Lyca ( Mari_Rose Mari_Rose )

Ekic blinked, his head still tilted, at the outstretched hand. Wha...ah, of course. After remembering how the land people greeted each other, he awkwardly grabbed it and shook it, clearly still unsure about the gesture, before nodding. Such an odd way of greeting one another, to contact hands like this. It felt more like a contest of grip strength than an actual positive gesture. Though, he was alien to the ways of humans and other similar species. Perhaps this was just how it worked down here. "You'll have to forgive me if I make any mistakes. I live on the side of a mountain, you see, and my brethren all live up high in some way. Most of us will spend our entire life looking down upon the clouds, not up." After a second, he paused. "My name is Ekic Qlack. Warm greetings, Lyca. I am an Aarakocran; Avian, I believe humans call us sometimes. You are satyr, yes?" When he said his name, it was almost like a series of clicks than words. He had dumbed it down a bit so that it sounded pronounceable, but Aarakocrans did speak in bird clicks over words. It was a language to them. It was easier to understand for them, across high winds and long distances - almost like a code of some sort. He smiled as he spoke, before his eyes fell upon the ever shortening line. The way his eyes darted...it was impossible to tell where his attention rested.

Lyca had sensed his hesitation to accepting her out stretched hand. It was clear the concept of a hand shake was foreign to him and maybe to others who came to this academy as well. She supposed it would be best to find some sort of alternative for now. The next words that he spoke confirmed to her that a hand shake wasn’t something he usualy did. “Mistakes? Oh, I don’t think you’re making any mistakes. So many different cultures and habits are coming here, it’s impossible to know all of then right away” Lyca explained with a smile. “Coming here from the mountains it must be very different. But, yes! I am a satyr. My village can be found in a valley surrounded by woods. We can see some mountains off in the distance but I’ve never climbed one before” she said and nodded. Hearing some feet shuffle behind her she looked back to see the line move forward. Her hooves took a few steps forward before glancing back at Ekic again “I expect that everyone here will be experiencing plenty of new things.” After Lyca had said that, another commotion started to spark amongst the students. She heard whisperings about a carriage. It didn’t take long for her eyes to fall on the subject of the gossip and her head tilted again with the new curousity. “I wonder who just came... are those guards?” She asked seeing some others with the carriage that did not stay but left with it.

Elia (Open for interaction Peckinou Peckinou ?)

Elia still waited in line for the things that she needed. It seemed as though a few returning students were in charge of handing it out so many of the new students in front of her were taking the opportunity to ask questions or just have a conversation. She knew that it mught have been a part of their job to answer any questions, she just wished that the new students would take the parchment and move on. It wouls make this process much quicker. As the courtyard got quieter she started to feel a bit better but thatvwas short lived. Conversations were quickly resumed after the commotion about what she assumed was the tall avian man in the courtyard with them. This was an academy for beings who could use magic. She was sure they could all assume that they’ll see stranger things in the days to come. Only a few moments later everyone went back to whispering and staring, this time at something new. Elia turned to see the focus of the gossip and raised her eyebrow as she saw a boy step out of a guarded carriage. He must have come from some well off family if he was able to sit his entire journey here. Elia assumed that most of those who arrived, arrived on foot or at least completed some length of the journey on foot.

Their were quite a few people in a line as he made his way towards it with one bodyguard directly behind him with a bag carrying a few of his belongings while the other 3 were maintaining the carriage. He then began to speak to the guard the was behind him clearly not expecting him to say anything though "This looks like such a long wait i would of preferred the carriage ride over this at least then i could sleep. Ugh, why am i to be subjected to wait in a line this is so agitating ." His bodyguard does nothing but nod, Riv then sighs and closes his eyes walking forward towards the line, when he opened them he was in front of some girl who was had horns on her head and was pretty darn tall at least compared to him. He crossed his arms and let out a hmp sound before before speaking to her and pointing, a finger at her without unfolding his arms"And just who and what are you?" His voice was more nonchalant than venom's though he didn't even bother to make direct eye contact with her either though although it would of been easy to tell from his eyes that he was tired and has most likely just woken up.

EKIC QLACK

Talking to Lyca ( Mari_Rose Mari_Rose )

Valleys. Not something the birdfolk enjoyed, really. Too many trees to crash into, and the winds were all over the place and would often cause flyers to crash into one of the many hills on either side. Ekic preferred plains or hills, maybe a nice steppe, but not a valley or a forest. Then, after realising his mind had wandered off topic again, his head juttered slightly before his attention moved back to Lyca. "I imagine climbing would be quite tough without wings. Or, at the very least, those...things you call feet." He said with a smirk, referencing her hooves. "But yes, I imagine there will be loads of new things to experience her." Just as he finished, though, he heard the same students as Lyca did muttering to themselves.

Ekic looked in the direction that Lyca was looking in. He did not recognise the person, and his race barely rang any bells (all he knew was that he was probably an elf of some kind), so simply shook his head. Lyca probably had a better idea of who this new guy was, and she seemed to know nothing of him. "I do not know. I believe royalty or the wealthy like to travel in such a way, but I know nothing of the politics here." He never liked how royalty treated others - like as if the 'lower down' folk were basically dirt. He didn't even know this guy, or had even met him, and he already disliked him. But, whoever this person was, it was of no consequence to him. Ekic simply did not care. Looking back towards the line, he noticed that it had shortened to practically just them two and another in front. "Hmm? Oh, Lyca, the line is nearly done. We're next for...well, whatever we were lining up for."

Lyca The Fabulous Emerald The Fabulous Emerald

Lyca looked down at her hooves as he seemed to struggle to find a name for them. Perhaps someone else might be offended by Ekic’s unknowing but she wasn’t. Lyca had quickly come to realize that not everybody has been in the position to meet different beings. “My hooves do tend to make it difficult sometimes but I’ve never found the need to climb a mountain. Perhaps one day and we’ll find out just how well I can climb” she responded with a little chuckle. Quickly she turned her attention back to the new comer. Now there was someone carrying his things. “He must be important to have people doing things for him. But even so, I don’t think there are politics in this part of the world” she responded.

When Ekic informed her of the length of the line her head quickly turned forward “Oh! Sorry about that I wasn’t paying attention” she said and quickly closed the gap between herself and the student in front of her. Her hooves clicked on the stone beneath her as she moved forward. A few moments later she was at the front and promptly greeted by the returning student “Welcome to invictus academy. Could I have your name please?” the bubbly serpent girl has asked. Her skin, eyes and teeth did resemble that of a snakes. “Lyca Dorus” the satyr responded with a smile as she awaited whatever was going to he given to her. The serpent nodded and held her hand up to a large pile of parchment. Two pieces of the paper fluttered out and into the girls hand. Luca gave the girl and allrefiative thank you before stepping to the side. She wanted to take a moment to read what was on the paper and also to wait for Ekic. Luca felt as though she made a friend and she didn’t want to just walk away from him. After her eyes scanned both pages she smiled; she was given a map of the castle and surrounding grounds as well as her room assignment.

Elia Peckinou Peckinou

The demon girl did not keep her attention on the boy and his entourage for long. It didn’t concern her as to who he was, she only wanted to focus on the line and leave it at that. As soon as she got the papers that everyone else was getting she would be off to her room to settle herself in. It had been a long journey and she decided she could attempt to socialize later, but not at this moment. Elia knew that at some point she wouldn’t be able to isolate herself and interaction with others was inevitable. When she heard a voice coming behind her it seemed like that interaction was going to happen within the moment. Part of what whoever was behind her said wasn’t wven directed towards her and yet it still made her tense up a little. Without even looking back she could tell it was the boy who arrived riding the carriage. From a distance he looked snobby, now hearing him speak, he was definitely a snob. Elia did her best to ignore him until it seemed like he was speaking to her directly. She turned her head to look at him out of the corner of her eye before turning completely to face. “Excuse me? I don’t think that’s any of your business.” She responded with a stern voice, her expression stonefaced with only a hint of a glare. “Who exactly are you?” she asked and kept the same experession.

Talking to Lyca ( Mari_Rose Mari_Rose )

Hooves...an odd name. But, if that is what they were called, then who was he to argue? To be honest, he was still getting used to the idea of 'feet' rather than 'talons'. But, that's an Aarakocran for you. Living so far away from the rest of the world that they have forgotten about it. Ekic noticed Lyca's attention turn to the royal, but he didn't change his own view to see him. He didn't care. "Or that he is just rich. I do not see why he does his own things, to be honest. I don't see why he must have others to do his dirty work." That was the main reason he did not like royalty - because of how they treated others, and used them like slaves. In Aarakocran society, though, it was far different. Other than a village elder, who mainly acted as a guide or teacher for the younger Aarakocrans, there was no hierarchy. No rich people living on a pile of money, with servants at their beck and call.

Turning his attention back to the student taking their names, his eyes widened slightly at who it was. A snake woman of some description. Well, that was certainly unexpected. Perhaps he should grab himself a book about the different races of the world at some point, and make a note to read up on the subject. It would avoid him making a fool of himself every time he met a new race. After the girl asked for his name, he responded with his own name and was handed two parchments very similar to Lyca (I assume). He moved next to her, reading them. "Looks like a map. Have you got the same things?"

Riv Alto
( Mari_Rose Mari_Rose )
Riv was a bit surprised by her rude yet blunt behavior clearly use to people showing more humility than the girl was showing him right now, his guard didn't do or say nothing but he did glare at the girl. Riv found her a bit interesting at least her appearance and her personality, he started staring at her a bit dum founded for a few seconds before she started to questioning him. He hesitated for a minute looking at his guard to see if answering that question while giving his title would be allowed he just gave him a nob of approval as he continued to give a death stare to her. He then sighed and began to speak "My name is Prince Riv Alto, Ma'am , now since i told my name it would only be fair if you did the same." He looked at her his face showing that he was still a bit tired but was actually getting intrigued by her. He was not use to people acting the way she did especially when his guards were nearby he found her to be at least mildly interesting although by the looks his guard gave her, Riv was pretty sure that he found her annoying and disrespectful. Its not like they were on his kingdoms grounds so he couldn't punish others or kill them without a good reason.

Lyca stepped over to him to look at what he was give “yea, they’re the same. I got a map and where my room is located” she said with a small smile. She then turned her head over to the academy itself “I guess that means we can go inside now.” Lyca felt her heart beat start to quicken as the reality of the castle became salient was more. Talking to Ekic was a good distraction that calmed her nerves for the time being. It was hard to tell if she was excited or nervous, though it was even harder to tell just what would happen behind those doors. It would be her home, everyone’s home, for how ever many years. The academy didn’t really have an end date for their students. Students would continue to learn and study until the leaders of the Academy deemed the ready for the final test. For some that would only take a year or two, for others it would be longer. Lyca began to walk over to the steps that led to the main door. They had propped it open for the students arriving so even before stepping inside there was a small hint as to what awaited then.

Elia Peckinou Peckinou

“Prince huh? That explains a lot” Elia said with a smirk. “I’m sorry if you’re just learning this but nothing is fair in the world” she responded. Elia had mainly said it out of frustration for the smuggness she assumes he has. At least it was a safe assumption from what she had heard before. “My name is Elia, just Elia. Thought I don’t know why it matters as to what I am”

EKIC QLACK

Academy Courtyard -> Main Door

Talking to Lyca ( Mari_Rose Mari_Rose )

Nodding, Ekic began to follow the satyr. "I suppose so." While Lyca was secretly nervous about the whole thing, Ekic remained unchanging about the whole thing. Perhaps it was his beak that made it so his facial expressions were difficult to discern, since it was awkward for him to show emotion without a mouth, but maybe it was also down to his resilience against such things. He had been hardened by the village elder over the years, so that he could remain in charge of his mind while in any situation - to make better decisions. Sure, he was curious about what was to happen...but it did not affect him. He was vaguely aware of what the school's system was like, that they were done when they were done - in fact, the village elder had annual trips planned to check in on Ekic, but other than that the elder had purposefully withheld information from him. He had no idea what the lessons were like, the accommodations (though, truth be told, he wasn't likely to use them anyways - he didn't like sleeping in confined areas), the facilities...nothing. He remained stoic about the whole thing, though - after all, it could all just be a bust.

Cooing gently to himself, like a sigh, he began looking around the interior of the building. At least, what he could see from where he was stood. He could see other students beginning to walk in, but truth be told there weren't that many people here. Which made sense, considering how rare magic was. Gesturing with a muscled, feathered hand to the inside, he looked to Lyca. "Well, let's not keep anyone waiting. So, is there somewhere we have to go first or is it straight to the accommodations?"

Riv Alto
( Mari_Rose Mari_Rose )
That explains alot? he was a bit confused by what she said was that a insult or something? when she continued talking stating that nothing is fair in this world he grew a bit annoyed thinking that she was just gonna refuse to give her name. But to his surprise she actually did give her name but she still did refuse to tell him what she was so he was a bit peeved with that but he at least didn't find her totally intolerable, yet. "So do you know anything about this place besides it being a academy for people with magic, my mom didn't give me that much info before sending me here, and it would be nice to learn at least a little about what im getting myself into." He had both his eyes trained on her but his head looking in a different direction waiting for her response, she was a bit rude but he was ok with dealing with one rude girl well at least for now anyways she wasn't intolerable at least.

AMARANTH SOORA
Main Door
The journey to the academy was a long one. Amaranth has never left the trees that her small village had been confined in - save for the few times she went on short expeditions with her father to close merchant towns for supplies. Even then they never strayed far because everything they needed was right there. Now she was unwillingly thrust into what seemed to be a whole new world. She was having a bit of a fish out of water moment to say the least. Amaranth had arrived prior to the whole prince thing and already gotten the stuff needed from the line in the courtyard, and even with the map provided she somehow found herself lost and wandering aimlessly through the halls of the academy. Her ears flattened against her head out of annoyance and a low growl left her throat, aimed at no one in particular but her own incompetence. She just wanted to find her accommodation and take a well deserved nap. Her trek here left her tired and in need of at least somewhere to sit down comfortably, she believes she has earned that much. Amaranth glanced up from the map as she slowed to a stop and glared at the giant, open doors before her. Somehow she found herself at the entrance of the Academy once again, for the 3rd time today. Great, so she only walked in a circle. She could feel her frustrations building up and she felt ready to explode. So she didn't hit/break anyone or thing she just settled for balling the map up in her hands and throwing it to the ground in a loud display of exasperation. If not for her minimalist nature and the fact that she didn't bring much her bags the map wouldn't be the only thing thrown around. Her chest rose and fell quickly as she heaved in an attempt to calm her anger. "Calm Amara, calm," she muttered to herself as she ran a hand through her hair. Her mother always did say she had a short temper.

RHYS ULTAS
Courtyard

[ Peckinou Peckinou Mari_Rose Mari_Rose ]
This was . . . different to say the least. Rhys couldn't help but to gawk the the giant castle like residence before them. Sure they've seen their fair share of mansions and such in their life - hell, they technically lived in one - but never a castle like this. "Close your mouth dear before you catch a fly," the honey-like voice of their mentor Aurora spoke from beside them with a sweet laugh. Rhys, slightly embarrassed, quickly closed their mouth and huffed a bit, avoiding Aurora's eyes. "I haven't a clue what you're talking about," they said, in avid denial. "Of course you don't," she said before fully turning to Rhys and placing both hands on their shoulders, a more serious look in her eyes. "Now, as much as it pains me to say this bun, it is time for me to leave you," she said with a tight lipped sigh. Rhys' eyebrows furrowed together and they looked down at their feet. "You know I hate that nickname," they muttered, not wanting to acknowledge anything else in the sentence. Aurora rolled her eyes and gave them a light smack upside the head. "Be serious," she warned. "Now, go do great things bun! I'll visit when I can." And with those final parting words Rhys was pulled into a surprisingly bone-crushing hug from the smaller woman, not that that mattered to them. The only thing Rhys focused on was her warmth. Aurora didn't stay too long after that, and now Rhys was left to their own devices. To say they were terrified was a severe overstatement, but they would be the first to admit that they were somewhat nervous but they refused to show it. Rhys began to walk away from the gates and deeper into the courtyard. As their eyes scanned around they realized that they had no idea where to go. How wonderful. Luckily for them though they noticed a line that was forming. They made their way over to it and approached an interesting pair, both of them obviously not human. "Excuse me, sorry to intrude, but what exactly is this line for? I'm a bit clueless here," they said with a light chuckle.

Lyca shook herself out of her thoughts when she heard Ekic sigh, or tweet? Either way it had caught her attention. “I don’t think we have to do anything else today. The lessons don’t start for a day or two and don’t see a schedule or anything” she said as she took one more look at the papers they were given. “Of course we can go inside, sorry I sort of spaced out for a second. It’s just a lot to take in”. She chuckled lightly and started to walk inside with him “If you want to we can find our accomidations and meet up again to explore?” As she asked the question she noticed another student who seemed frustrated. It wasn’t hard to see, she had thrown her map down onto the ground in flourish. Lyca began to take a couple steps closer to the girl, she still kept a bit of a distance to avoid overwhelming her more. “Uh... excuse me?” The satyr asked gently “are you ok?”

“I’m sure You’ll find all of that out after you wait in line” Elia answered him and sighed, partly out of annoyance but also to calm her nerves a little. She felt like she was blowing this situation a little out of proportion and if she was to make any sort of social stride she had to calm down. “I’m a new student here too, Inprobably know just as much as you do. Everyone here is finding things out as we go” she said and nodded. Elia felt herself tense a little when another voice was added to the mix. And again, more questions she didn’t have the answers to. “See?” Elia said gesturing to the student who had just approached them as to prove her point. Her head then turned towards the new comer “I don’t see why we can’t just wait in line to find out, it seems important or else everyone wouldn’t be standing around” she answered rather calmly, it was at least how she thought she sounded. Her hand come up to her mouth to clear her throat as she realized it might have sounded a little harsh.

Ekic nodded gently as Lyca spoke, his head tilting slightly in thought. "Okay, well, as long as I know I suppose. Thank you." As the pair continued moving, he spoke again. "Do not worry about that. I understand that this place may be a little...impressive." Personally, he didn't see anything in the stone building. Though, perhaps it was simply ignorance on his end. His kind only lived in stone caves or wooden huts, and not really in castles. It was hard to keep a massive building like that supported atop of a mountain, after all. Perhaps they could find a way, but frankly they had no enemies to need a castle for. But, he mused to himself, these land dwellers must be at war a lot if they need so many forts. It was a little worrying, to be honest. At her offer, he gently smiled as best as he could. "Yes, that would be alright with me. It shouldn't - hmm?"

He was about to continue, but then he saw another student angrily toss away their map. Another female student, he assumed. A...a cat woman. Well, he personally had nothing against them but...well, if they attacked him thanks to some primal instinct, then he would retaliate. He watched carefully as Lyca approached the berserking girl, to ask her how she was. He remained quiet but moved slowly to stand behind Lyca.

If not for the small twitch of her ear at the sound of their footsteps in her direction Amaranth would have never noticed the pair heading her way due to her pure anger and frustration. Her head snapped up and she looked at the satyr - she believes - with a glare. It wasn't really directed at her, just a general one. Her eyes narrowed and her face hardened into a scowl as she pointed down at the crumbled map at her feet. "I cannot figure out this stupid building! I've been walking around for the past half hour and I keep ending up back here!" she said, her hands pulled into tight fist as she tried her best not to punch anything. Amaranth closed her eyes once more and took a deep breath, calming herself as best as she could. "Sorry for raising my voice, I'm just not the best at navigating, as pathetic as it seems," she said bitterly with a scoff and opened her eyes once more, this time suddenly taking in the bird man - who she didn't even notice before - behind the satyr. Her eyes widened a bit out of surprise and she could tell that they had dilated ever so slightly, mostly out of instinct. Blinking a few times she looked the other way, not wanting to make the man uncomfortable if he did catch on. She may be on the brink of exploding from anger but she didn't want to come off as hostile to people that were only trying to help.

Rhys' eyebrow shot up in surprise at the girl's words, well more so the way she said it. They have had to deal with quite a few backhanded comments in their life, so the attitude in her words was quite clear to them. Pursing their lips they nodded, and glanced over to the white haired boy beside them. "Hm, alright then," they said, their words said with somewhat of a bite. Rhys looked past the girl and notice how the line has moved up a bit in the midst of their, short, conversation. They pointed behind her and tilted their head to the side. "The line has progressed," they said curtly. Rhys usually one to be rude - a bit sassy maybe - but they've dealt with it enough at home and would prefer not to get involved with anything, or anyone for that matter, so naturally their response is to be rude back. Is it the most mature approach? Probably not, but Rhys refuses to care at the moment.

Lyca was a little taken back from how open the cat like student was. She had half expected her to simply say she was fine and move on but openness wasn’t a bad thing. “It’s not pathetic, I don’t think either of us think it’s pathetic”, Lyca had quickly said as she held her hands up a little to help the girl calm down. “Old castles like this, I’m sure it’s like a maze. If it wasn’t they wouldn’t be giving us a map” she said with a little chuckle to hopefully lighten the mood a little. Lyca noticed that at one point the girl almost seem to stare past her. Her focus was most likely on Ekic, he seemed to catch the glances of a lot of the students. She hadn’t quite caught onto the animalistic I sticks of the girl. “We’re going to try to find our rooms now, if you want to come with us. Or, with me” she said quickly looking back to Ekic. “If you wanted to go find yours on your own” she added realizing that she might have been talking for him.

Elia jerked her head around when the shortening of the line was made aware to her. The demon didn’t say anything and she turned to progress herself with the rest of the line. She spent the rest of the wait in silence, what else was she going to say? In order to calm herself and release some of the energy she felt she held her palm up to watch a small flame dance between her fingers. It was just something she did when she needed to clear her head. When it was her turn she stepped up to receive what they had been giving to the students. Elia was about to simply walk through the doors and go on her way but she hesitated. It wouldn’t have been the smartest decision to start her first day here. Elia came here to learn but to also try to get away from the isolation she felt in the mountain. Instead of going inside she turned on her heel and stepped off to the side to wait for the two students she was with to get through the line as well. Her goal would be to apologize and she kept a reminder in the back of her head to stay calm.

Talking to Lyca and a new student ( Mari_Rose Mari_Rose , DisasterBi DisasterBi )

The Aarakocran's eyes darted up and down the cat woman, a little on edge - cats ate birds, after all, and while that may sound silly he had no idea what people were like below the clouds, nor did he know what the cat's particular race were like. As far as he knew, she could be ore cat than human. Sure, that might be a bit rude...but this was a place where many different species gathered in one place, and he had no clue about any of them. Still, not wanting to give himself a bad reputation, he decided not to speak anything about it. Warily, he turned away from the mystery student to look at Lyca. "No, I agree. Places like this can be confusing. Especially if you can't see the sky."

At Lyca's second set of words, Ekic paused to think. "I imagine the male and female accommodations will be in separate locations? That is what my elder told me, anyways. So, I suppose we'd have to split either way?" He wasn't really too sure. Ekic checked the map to see if it was, his eyes scanning the parchment to find out. He didn't want to have to split up from the only friend he had made in this new place but, if he had to, he had no choice. His disdain was visible, though, but he could always find them again later.

"Tch, if anybody from my village were to see me like this I'd be exiled," Amaranth remarked at the girl's first words. "But I appreciate the sentiment." Despite the bluntness of her words she was feeling a little less frustrated. She bent down the grabbed the map off of the ground, uncrumbling it the best she could. Huffing a bit as she focused on the map. Her ear twitched curiously at the proposition. A small smirk grew on her face. "Well, I wouldn't mind the hel-" she stopped mid sentence as she looked up and noticed the look on the bird man's face. He was uncomfortable, for obvious reasons. She was a predator and he was prey, or at least had the potential to be. Amaranth was never one to underestimate her peers - seeing first hand what could come from it - so she doubted that he would fall by her hand, not without quite the fight at least. "Erm, I wouldn't want to intrude on your . . ." she motioned vaguely between the two, "whatever this is, but if you'll have me I'd appreciate it greatly," she said, making the choice up to them.

"Bit rude, that one, don't you think?" Rhys commented to white haired male beside them, while keeping their eyes ahead of them. Without any further words they progressed further ahead with the line. As they got close enough they noticed the fire that danced between the girl's fingers. They raised their eyebrows in curiosity at the sight as they glanced over her shoulder but said nothing. Faster than they would've thought, they were at the front of the line. It was an interesting experience to say the least. Rhys, even though Aurora came from a line of dwarfs, never had much experience with creatures that weren't human. The snake like lady at the front of the line was a pleasant surprise. Throwing everything but the map of the school in their bag, they began to head their way inside of the castle, but was slowed to a stop as they noticed the girl from before looking their way. Tilting their head inquisitively they stopped in front of her. "Why stop now? You seemed to be in such a rush before," they said, pursing their lips. Rhys could be quite petty when they wanted to be - something that seemed to run in their family - so using their words in such a way came as a second nature.

Riv turned his head to the new comer so did his bodyguard but his bodyguard quickly began to face forward upon seeing, Riv just shrugged when he commented on how rude she was. He was not use to rude people mainly cause rudeness to a royal was not the best idea unless you were some royal yourself but most royals don't come to the dark fae kingdom without paying atleast a little respect to the royals. He was a bit surprised when Elia stepped out of line only to stop and wait for them apparently well thats what it atleast seemed like although Riv made no comment on her rudeness the other guy did. Riv didn't know the guys name yet but seeing as how close to the front of the line Riv was he just nodded his head towards his Bodyguard giving him permission to get the information from the front. Riv didn't think the girl was going actually going to be nice or was she offering herself as a guide only she would know he guessed. Riv then eyed the guy that looked sorta human for secound debating on weather to question him before decided to just ask for his name. "Uhm, Who were you again, I never actually got your name."
