|| Background ||
It was 2022 and the Schiller family had been living in their newly purchased forever home for a little over 18 months. Darren and Ethel Schiller bought the run-down Victorian-style home with the hopes of renovating it into a generational home their family can be comfortable in. They, along with their sons, Kelton and Vincent, at 17 and 16, and their daughter Amy, at 12, had just begun to make their plans to revamp the house when something began to feel amiss. Though Darren, a contractor by trade, had measured and measured and checked and rechecked, it was undeniable -- the house was somehow 4 inches bigger on the inside than out.
Darren called in his brother, his coworkers, and his friends; none of them could explain it. Their plans were on hold, the family attempting to figure out what was going on with their unnatural house. Amy was hardly concerned, a curious child who found the whole thing fascinating. It was she who was the first to find the new door. A simple hatch inlaid in the back wall of the fireplace. Covered in soot and tucked away, they thought at first they'd simply missed it. It soon became clear that this door had appeared from nowhere -- it was not in any real estate photos, nor in the videos the family recorded. It had simply appeared.

Amy, ever curious and reckless, pulled open the door and crawled inside. It was a hallway. It went on, and on, and on and on. The family ripped down the chimney, opened a hole in the outside where the door should be. Nothing. Only brick and a hole that clearly showed the inside of the house.

Though several attempts to explore inside were made, it quickly became clear that the family were not equipt to deal with the hallway. They easily got lost and didn't have the right gear to navigate the dark hallways. They needed help.

|| The Story ||
Ethel, an editor at a local news station, has gotten in touch with some of her journalist friends. She wants to know what's happening in her house and how to stop it. Her contacts have pulled together a team of experts in order to venture inside the hallway and find out what lies beyond.

|| What kind of characters are we looking for? ||
+ All characters and players must be 21+ or at least 18+. It is highly encouraged for characters to be in their late twenties and older.
+ All characters are going to be either professionals in their fields or closely related to the Schillers in some way and able to convince the team to let them tag along.
+ Most of the team will be made up of either filmmakers, scientists or military/survival-types
+ Ideally we want a large range of diverse and interesting characters. You don't have to lay all your cards on the table in the character sheet - your characters can have secrets and nastier sides - in fact, I encourage this. A lot of the RP will be carried on the backs of the character dynamics, so I hope to make those dynamics as interesting as possible.

Examples of some jobs or roles a character may have/occupy
* Physical experts - hikers, mountain climbers, survivalists
* Scientists - physicists, biologists, engineers
* Filmmakers - sound engineers, camera operators
* Journalists - war reporters, investigative journalists
* Security professionals - ex-military personnel, hired bodyguards
* Navigators - cartographers, explorers

This is a non-exhaustive list, but it should give you some idea of the kinds of people coming along and maybe give you some inspiration when coming up with your character. Your character is absolutely allowed to double up on these, as long as it makes sense for your character, and we can have more than one of each type, though we should hopefully have a good range in the group.

|| What are we not looking for? ||
- This isn't a high-action RP with lots of fighting, nor are the characters expecting to run into combat. Most of these people are professionals who are coming along out of curiosity (professional or personal), because they're being paid, or because they were assigned (such as security).
- Because of this, characters will be prepared but absolutely not powerful. There are no super special abilities, no highly trained secret agents or child prodigies. These are ordinary adults who are extremely good at what they do, but not unrealistic
