As he sat down it seemed the other two had greeted him, standard stuff really. Boris just had to stay calm, cool and collected and answer like a normal person, “O-oh, well, I-I’m good, yourself?” He only stumbled his words slightly, better than usual. Boris didn’t know what he wanted more, friends or for this interaction to end, guess we’ll have to find out.

Koan smiled cautiously as Haika introduced herself and the others but it quickly dropped at her warning about the other seniors. "Y-you don't mean that literally?" He asked instantly kicking himself for the stupid question, surely no one would be able to do something like that though he had heard vampires mentioned a few times. "Oh I'm Koan by the way Koan Zorrilla. That's a kind offer, do you do that for everyone or do I just look that lost?"

Passing by a window he saw that his ears and tail were visible but decided to leave it alone for the moment, trying to hide them had led to his accident in the first place and he'd mostly been doing it for the sake of practice within the school if nothing else Haika didn't seem to care at all but he supposed as a senior she would have seen a fair bit over her time. As he followed her Koan tried to discreetly look her over to see what might set her apart from the average human apart from her mixed hair colour.

Haika giggled at Koan's question about her kind act. "I try to help anyone who needs it. In a world filled with shitty people and shitty situations, there needs to be more kindness and positivity. I try to be that kind person by doing whatever good deeds I can do. You're not the first newbie or younger person I've had to help here. So yeah." She looked back at him and grinned brightly, amber eye shining.

For a brief moment, her bangs shifted when she looked back, revealing a brief jagged scar through her other eye before her bangs shifted back into place. She looked average other than that, but using her magic she was able to conceal what she would really look like very well. That was the first thing she learned to master, is a human appearance. Otherwise she would have one black bat wing and one white feathered wing, and her scarred eye would be red. The other would be yellow. It was when she had to activate her abilities she began to struggle to control them. That was her goal for this year, to be able to control both sides of her.

"I like that name, by the way. Koan... Sounds very unique. We're coming up on your first class. By the sounds of it, there are already students in there." She double-checked his schedule to make sure it was the right room.
"And for the record, you shouldn't try to hide your inhuman traits so much. They are part of who you are, after all, and you don't have to hide at this school. I love your ears and tail, they really bring out your cuteness." She grinned again and winked at him. "What are you? Half fox?" She looked him over again.

"Oh, umm, it's Boris. Boris smile." He introduced himself, "Nice to meet you charlot- Charlie." He almost said Charlotte, he knew it wouldn't cause to much of a fuss but it's the effort that counts, right?

Ezekiel biked to the school, his trip was quite eventful. He had biked right next to a car and the driver and passenger were having an argument, so while the red light was still on, Ezekiel decided to try to remedy the situation. Well he did and they ended up improving their relationship with the help of Ezekiel’s drug fueled mind, but granted it was one smart drug fueled mind. Other than that event, Ezekiel just did calculations in his head that he could never figure out over the years, he also used those calculations as a basis for what’s possible with Behelit. And his result? Well, he did it all in his head while avoiding people on the sidewalk and on the road. This isn’t your typical Adderall, this is something far beyond that.

He threw on his bike lock through the front of his bike and through the front wheel and then eventually through the nice stand thingy. Time to find my class! Yeah it wasn’t hard finding his class, Ezekiel found the school map and did a bit of basic trigonometry to find his class. Rather simplistic really, but highly unnecessary. Before he entered his class, Ezekiel touched up his hair, he had to look atleast presentable in some capacity. As he opened the door, he inspected the class. Three, wait no four people... holy shit, is that me? Ezekiel stood there dumbfounded, he looked at the corner of the room to see an exact copy of himself, before Ezekiel could do anything, wannabe-Ezekiel spoke up.

“Don’t worry me, this isn’t somebody who can shape shift and you definitely aren’t losing you’re mind yet, this is just a fleeting memory in your mind that made it to your perceptive receptors. And before you ask, no, I’m not real.”

Ezekiel was about to speak up but his mind-clone(?) continued.

“Don’t worry about talking either, this is just happening in your head so to the people around, it just looks like your staring into the corner of the class.”

“So why are you here?” Ezekiel pondered in his head about it but he couldn’t think of why a memory like this would come up.

“Do you remember when you used to sit in the back of the class?” The mind-clone stood up from the desk and leaned against the wall. “God you acted so edgy and stupid. Like honestly man, it was pretty embarrassing.”

“Oh so you’ve come to berate me about my past, great.” Ezekiel rolled his eyes before sitting down two seats away from the main group of people. “Come back when you have some better criticisms for me.” The mind-clone vanished after that, and Ezekiel lived on happily.

“It’s really nice to meet you, Boris!” Charlie said with a smile. She grew even more excited as more and more people entered the room. “Hello! What’s your name?” She called to the next person entering the class. She waved him over and patted a chair by the rest of the group.

Catching sight of Haika's scarred eye Koan struggled not to stare, the scar looked so grievous he was surprised that the eyeball was still as functional as it looked. When she mentioned his name he nodded clearly distracted, he'd liked his name for the same reason Haika had mentioned but he'd recently become a lot more unique than he'd ever wanted to. "It's a name my mother came up with, I used to think it was the only thing she left me until these showed up." He gestured towards his ears.

Arriving at the classroom Koan took back his schedule and scowled at being described as inhuman like it was something he should be proud of. "I should get to class." He said tersely. "Thanks for the help." Without another word to Haika he turned and entered the classroom, glancing over the other students already there he silently picked a desk and sat down.

Haika was taken aback by the sudden change in attitude of the younger student.
"Wait... I didn't mean to offend you, I'm sorry!" she called after him, but once he entered the classroom, she sighed.
*I forget... Others have a harder time at accepting who they are. I know I did for the longest time... But you can't change what you were born with. Besides, I liked his unique traits... Why can't he see the beauty in them?* she thought to herself before she sighed.

"Better get back to Setaki. Wonder if he's still talking to Maeve..." It made her blood boil to think that he could potentially be flirting with her. He usually meant nothing by it. Of course, he means every word he says. If he runs into a pretty girl he makes sure to sweet talk her. But he has yet to find the one he wants to be with. That's why she kept hoping... Maybe deep down, he did have feelings for her like she did for him. Maybe he was just afraid to make the first move... Then again, if he did feel that way for her, she knew he wouldn't be flirting with anyone else. She couldn't help her jealousy. After all, Setaki was a very good-looking guy with a heart-melting personality. She should expect for girls to swarm him...

Deciding to shake off the jealousy she now felt heating her blood, she turned and quickly headed back the way she came to unite with her best friend and secret crush. She didn't want to leave him too long with Maeve, especially since she was a pretty girl.

Maeve smiled as Setaki talked about working at Rock ‘N Rollers. “I went there once to purchase a gift for my friend a few years ago. It’s been so long since I’ve been I doubt it's exactly the same.” She tilted her head in thought trying to remember if she had been any other times. As Setaki went on about the modeling opportunity her glimmering eyes widened in awe. It’s untypical to get an extraordinary offer like that, but she understood not wanting to do it. Modeling was cool if it was something you were passionate about, she doubted it would be much fun otherwise.

She perked up at the sound of a party a large smile spread across her eager face as she barely contained her excitement. “Let me know when and I’ll be there! Haika always hosts the liveliest parties I wouldn’t miss this for the world.” She said gleefully. Maeve had only attended a few of Haika's parties. But from everything she heard and the few times she experienced. They were never a disappointment.

A soft frown settled on her face when she realized that Setaki didn’t share the same first-period class as her. It would have been nice to talk to him longer. It wasn't often that Haika wasn't attached at his hip. Maeve didn't mind Haika per se but was a little envious of her, most girls were. She was caught off guard when he suggested walking her to class, she blushed slightly before nodding quickly.

“Sure,” She eagerly said adjusting her bag nervously. It’s not every day that an almost model offers to walk you to class.

Setaki grinned and pushed off of the lockers. "Alright, where are you at?" he asked, then pulled out his schedule. "Wonder if we have any classes together. Sucks you're a Junior, but they combine the ages in the combat and ability classes so it's possible we may still have some of the same classes. What's your schedule?" He glanced to the clock in the hall and saw the first bell was about to ring shortly. They had to hurry, he didn't want to make Maeve late on her first day.

"Come on, we can walk and compare schedules. I'm sure we'll at least have lunch together." He started off for her class. It was in the same direction Haika had gone with the new student. Maybe Maeve had the same class as him. She was a sweet girl, so maybe she could help him out if Setaki or Haika couldn't get to him.

"I'm good." Tomoki respondrd to Boris. Then Tomoki just stood next to Charlie and listened to her and Boris' conversation until another male student entered the class. Tomoki thought this student was a little odd because he came into the classroom and just stared at the back corner of the class. He looked back at the corner to make sure the male student was seeing something Tomoki was not. When Tomoki realized there was nothing in the corner he looked back at the student who appeared to be talking to something or someone that wasn't the students already in the class. He curiously watched the boy sit down. "Hey you." Tomoki addressed the boy. "Who are you talking to?" He asked. Tomoki's expression was serious and his arms were crossed, showing his toned muscular arms.

Across the classroom Koan folded his hands on top of the desk and stared at them while quietly kicking himself for jumping down Haika's throat the way he did, he'd managed to run into her then gotten huffy with her after she had still helped him anyway but he just couldn't help but react the implication that he had become some inhuman creature when his new appendages had appeared.

Pricking up his ears at sound of 'hey you' he looked around until he realised someone else was being spoken to and settled down again watching the conversation cautiously.

Sarah escorted the girl to the office since she was a new student. Luckily, it wasn't too out of the way of the direction the class was. Sarah was cutting it close. And being late as a teacher on the first day wasn't the kind of impression she wanted to leave. As she approached the class she could already hear voices. She'd be lying to herself if she didn't feel a little bit nervous. It was like a performer going on stage. No matter how many times they repeated the same routine there was no avoiding those butterflies in their stomachs. It wasn't entirely a bad thing.

Sarah reached the door and took a quick breath before putting on her "teaching face" before walking into the classroom. As she walked in Sarah clapped her hands together a couple of times to get the attention of any students that weren't looking towards the front to see her enter. At a glance she could see a variety of students. Everyone looked human, save one person who seemed to have ears resembling a fox's.

"Everyone, quiet please." She called out as she went to the board and began writing Ms. Rayne on the board. "My name is Ms. Rayne. I teach a couple on classes as well as being your homeroom teacher. So you all have the pleasure of seeing me at least once a day." Sarah said in a somewhat sarcastic tone. "I also teach Magic and Preparedness as one of my main classes so if any of you selected that for an elective then it's a pleasure to meet you. My second class is Art." Sarah went to her satchel and pulled out a clipboard with several papers on it. "Now for role call..." Sarah proceeded to call on each students' name. There were a few missing but it wasn't rare that students were late to class on the first day. Sometimes, even, missing the first day altogether, in some cases.

After role call Sarah began to pass around black slips of paper. "Okay, next I want you all to write down your names and what ability, or abilities, you have. On the opposite side I want you to put a goal you want to achieve by the end of this year. Since you are all Juniors, this is where you start to focus on the future. What you want to become. What you want to do. Consider it like a New Year's resolution but something you will actually do and commit to." After Sarah passed out slips of paper to the whole class she returned to her desk and took a seat. She then took a brief look around the class taking in every student's face.

"After you fill it out bring it up to me and we can get to know each other. After all, unless something important comes up, you'll be meeting her every day this school year." With that Sarah pulled out some more papers from her satchel and began to sift through them while the students did their task.

Ezekiel when going to this school had no inclination to be doing too much, he really didn’t want to do anything that was boring but sometimes it wasn’t his choice. So you’d understand his worry when somebody from the group who were introducing themselves 3 minutes ago asked him if he was talking to somebody. As Ezekiel looked over to the group, he found more questions being asked, but not from the people who actually existed, nope, more mind-clones to torment and guide Ezekiel.

“How are you gonna diffuse this situation I wonder?” One mind-clone pondered. “Maybe you can dart out while you have time.”

“Or he could always just try to deal with it with his words, he’s always been good at lying.” It’s almost like memories resurfaced as that mind-clone said it, and it’s almost like Ezekiel just relearned how to lie.

Fine, I guess I have to lie my way through this, it’s not hard though, just denial. “Nope, just thought there was somebody there, they looked like an old friend of mine. I guess I won’t be able to see him anytime soon.” There’s a few qualifications for a good lie:
1. Can’t be checked
2. Refers to somebody else
And
3. Sob story
It doesn’t make a perfect white lie but something that makes people ponder and ultimately give up, cause who wants to find some unnamed person?

As Ezekiel diffused the situation, he heard the classroom door open. What came in was a woman clapping her hands who, by Ezekiel’s perceptive eyes, seemed to be a little nervous but who isn’t on their first day? It’s luck for a teacher on whether or not you’ll get good students and a good class. And students have the liberty of becoming social butterflies with all kinds of people. Ezekiel listened to the teacher with one ear, the other had an earbud in it hooked up to a phone that was playing a small informational video on reading people, like their emotions and such. Although he could only utilize his ears and both were occupied listening to other things, he could still remember everything they were saying, even if he wasn’t paying full attention.

Ezekiel’s eyes darted up as he saw the teacher passing out black-slips of paper, it was most odd for somebody to have a white pen or whiteout or a white marker but he had no qualms about it, he really just did not care either way. Two minutes passed and not only was he listening to a small informational video, he was also listening to the teacher and writing his name, ability, and a goal for the future. If this isn’t the nexus of multitasking, I don’t know what is. Although the pencil didn’t quite go so well on the black slip, Ezekiel managed through remembering how he wrote it. As he finished the slip of paper, he double-checked it, although he didn’t know what he was looking for, he decided to reread it;
Ezekiel Evangiel or EE
I’m really really smart

And on the other side, it read;
My goal: To not get expelled.

Ezekiel decided to just sit in his desk, he didn’t want to be the first one to go up and introduce himself, that’s just embarrassing. So, he waited, he slouched in his chair and stared upward as one ear listened to some guy talk about emotions and the other listening for either the teacher or somebody nearby him.

Mavee pulled out her timetable once again. "Homeroom with Ms. Rayne." She glanced at a clock on the wall and saw that most likely she was going to be late. Given that it was the first day if she absolutely needed to she could lie and say she got lost. She reviewed the paper in her hands seeing that she had lunch and an elective with Setaki her feeling of disappointment faded away, showing him the classes they shared she smiled delightedly before placing the paper back into her bag.

Voices could be heard from within the classroom as they walked closer. Not wanting to be any later she said a quick goodbye and headed in. Mavee instantly noticed everyone working on a black piece of paper and cringed when she realized she couldn't just sneak into a seat and would instead have to ask the teacher. Shuffling up to the desk she smiled gently.

"Excuse me, Ms. Rayne. I'm sorry for being late. Can I get the worksheet everyone has?" She asked softly. Genuinely hoping Ms. Rayne wouldn't be too mad or at least not enough to land her in detention.

Bolting upright as the teacher clapped her hands Koan stared at the teacher's massive wings, following her gaze at the rest of the class he realised that apart from her he was the only one in the class with any 'inhuman traits' which ran counter to his expectations of being stuck with horned demons or hulking ogres. The near normality of the people around him was comforting in a way though he felt it left him sticking out more.

Taking the slip of paper he frowned down at it, he had no interest in flaunting his abilities and didn't even know their full extent. Hearing a familiar voice he looked up and saw the other girl from earlier had showed up apparently being in the same class as he was. Returning his attention this his paper he quickly put his name down and contented himself with simply writing 'illusions and shapeshifting' for his abilities. Flipping it over he truthfully wrote down 'learn to hide myself' as a goal, placing it down on the desk he glanced around again seeing one person had an earphone in and catching the eye of the girl from earlier.

As Tomoki was studying Ezekiel, an older woman had entered the classroom who Tomoki assumed was their teacher. Her clapping did indeed get his attention and he looked towards the female. Then he looked at the board which read "Ms. Rayne". In realization that class has started, Tomoki went back to the desk he was sitting at earlier and sat down. Suddenly he heard Ezekiel say who he was talking to. Tomoki believed him and didn't worry much about it. When his name was called he said here and raised his hand. Tomoki's eyes shadowed the teacher as she handed out black slips of paper. Taking hold of his paper he set it on his desk then dug through his bag to pull out a gray sharpie. His paper read:

"Name: Tomoki Fuji
Ability: Fire Manipulation
Goal: To become stronger"

Tomoki placed his marker down and picked up his paper, walking up to the front of the class and giving the teacher his paper. He returned to his seat.

Charlie took her black slip of paper and grabbed her silver marker to write with. She crossed her legs and sat up in her seat, writing down what she was supposed to, dotting her i’s with hearts. Her paper read as follows:

Name: Charlotte (Charlie) McGuire
Ability: Sonic Voice
Goal: To be the young woman my father wanted me to be.

Once her paper was filled out, she quietly brought it up to the front of the room, handed it to her teacher, and sat back in her seat.

Sarah glanced up noticing a girl enter the classroom and apologized. Sarah simply gave a small smile.

"It's okay. It's the first day so I'll allow it while students are still locating their classes." Even as Sarah finished her reply she was already handing Mavee the black slip of paper. "Your name and gift you have on one side. Your goal to accomplish this year on the other. Seating is open for now so you can sit anywhere you'd like." Sarah glanced at the couple of papers she had so far. As for the goals Sarah couldn't say she was exactly surprised at what was written. They were decent goals. The teacher started a small pile for the other students to place their papers when finished and resumed looking over other papers as she waited for the others to finish.

Lori carefully looks over the paper, thinking for a few moments before reaching to grab a pencil, only to realize she forgot to bring one. "Shit" she mutters under her breath before she focuses for a few moments and produces a crude pencil. The graphite is easy enough, just lots of carbon. The wood part proves to be a much bigger challenge, and she scraps it in favor of a copper coating instead. She doesn't intend to use this for very long anyways.
As the pencil finally materializes, the relaxes a bit and gets to writing.
Name: Loraine Wilson
Ability: Matter Creation
Goal: Master my ability, build endurance, and help people.

Staring down at his paper Koan considered whether he should change what he had written, his goal for the future would probably get a bunch of pitying teachers hovering around him trying to make him use his abilities to save the world or something silly like that instead of teaching him what he wanted to know. Picking up his pen again he added 'to be normal again' to his slip and placed it on the pile while avoiding eye contact with the teacher before returning to his seat.

At night, Salem had wandered around, they stalked the school grounds, the park, and eventually, the first classroom they were supposed to be in the next day. They slowly walked around the class, looking for a shadow to settle into for the night. Looking around, they slowly adjusted their mask over their face so it wouldn't be of worry in the morning. When they found it, a small shadow of a desk in the left hand corner, they settled in for the night. After a while they went into a state of limbo, almost sleeping.

Salem returned to consciousness at the sound of chairs being moved and chattering. At least they were in the right class. Slowly, they pulled themselves out of the shadow. A little too quickly though, as they bumped their head on the underside of the desk. The desk's shadow was now under the desk, a small oversight. They continued to crawl out, making sure to not cause any commotion. After removing themselves from the shadow they took in the classroom. Students were here, none really caught--

Scratch that, the person with ears and a tail looked nice, they will jot that one down as a possible acquaintance. They walked to the front, approaching Ms. Rayne carefully. They tapped her on the shoulder.

Koan heard the quiet bump but dismissed it as one of the other students moving around until a masked giant walked by. Staring at the giant's back Koan was certain he hadn't missed the massive student when he had come in, the guy was far too conspicuous for that, but he also hadn't seen anyone like that entering the classroom.

The masked student seemed like the sort of scary monster Koan had hoped to avoid but for whatever reason the faceless gaze seemed to be focused on him specifically, probably eyeing him up as any easy target he thought to himself. Instinctively his tail curled around him and he tried to shrink into himself as he speculated internally about just what the lanky giant might be able to do to him.
