Hototo
The Sensual Panda Commander
"It's snowing outside. It's always snowing outside."
~The World~
Years after a war claimed most of the worlds inhabitants, the rich took control of the worlds major governments leading the survivors into poverty. Using their wealth, they expanded their industries controlling most of the worlds production of good and services. Most of the people lived in old towns or the remnants of old cities. Those whom didn't work for the bourgeoisie took on simple jobs as farmers or merchants. Bandits started their own society of thieves and murderers. They attack trains and towns to get the supplies or slaves they needed. Despite their doomed civilization, they try to keep it alive.
~The Plot~
In hopes of finding Eden, paradise in a crumbling world, the capitalist send a team of scientists and archeologists to observe the ancient writings within an old tomb. During the expadition a clumsy man trips and presses his hand on a small switch that opens a hidden path. Gradually the chamber illuminates as the ancient machines slowly turn on. At the farthest point a blue light slowly fills the room with a majestic glow. The source becomes clear as they inch closer, a giant pod filled with a luminescent fluid sits attached to a large mechanism. The scientists gawk over the strange technology, calling it a masterpiece of engineering. A lone surveyor looks upon the blue fluid and notices a figure inside. He knocks on the glass testing it's response when suddenly the liquid begins draining. Slowly the blue light disappears leaving the lone figure. The glass lifts up and a single spotlight shines down on the being inside. Clumsily it tries to stand. The humanoid creature watches the onlookers and opens his mouth to speak but no audible words come out. The scientist do not hear, or understand, the ancient human. He wobbles forward, his legs give out and he falls to the ground.
The scientists take the humanoid onto their airship and transport him back to their waiting masters, having finally found the key to Eden. As their airship soared over the landscape bellow, a rebellious group of bandits launch their attack. An old war missile launcher fires a cunning shot at their engines, sending the ship into fiery nosedive. The airship hits the ground in a blaze of hellish amber flames. The bandits surround the ship, killing all the survivors except for one. Sprawled on the snow, the ancient human struggles to stand. One of the bandits notices him and approaches, gun drawn. He aimed for the injured man and pulled the trigger. Nothing happened, the gun jammed. Over and over again he tried to extinguish the small flame of life but he failed each time. The bandit noticed the severity of the wounds and left the man to bleed out, not wanting to waist his time.
Long after the bandits had left and the last flame died, the ancient man stood. In the distance a feint glow showed him the way to safety. Slowly he traveled through the tundra towards the small town. Afraid of the inhabitants, he took the backstreets to avoid any unnecessary confrontation. Lost in the maze of dark alley ways he stopped by a large white tree and sat at it's base. Close to death he decided to sing his song. Soft and enchanting, he told tale of a beautiful paradise far away. The only few who would hear his song would be four humans, connected by their strange birthmarks and special talents.
A magnificent tree of white bloomed under the winter moon. It's bark stained crimson by the body of an ancient man. Adam rest against the base, holding his side in pain. Sadly he wasn't able to heal himself but he didn't mind. The only regret he felt was not being able see Eden one last time. Everything had changed since he fell asleep. 'Is Eve still alive' he wondered. Adam knew the fate of his kind and only wished Eve had happy passing. His people usually go in their sleep, blissfully unaware of the changing world. He was just lucky enough to have been awoken by a group of strange humans. It was uncommon to be woken up by someone other than his creator. The tree leaves russeled in the wind. That was when Adam looked up to the sky. His eyes widened in surprise as he looked upon the constellations. So much time had past since he last looked up at the stars. Adam closed his eyes and inhaled deeply, he could tell his wounds were severe enough to kill him. Though death seemed assured, Adam couldn't ask for a more pleasant place to die. Adam opened his mouth to sing. The tune wouldn't be heard by most but luckily destiny had a plan for Adam. Four chosen humans, born to be taken to Eden, would hear his call. The low enchanting tune that entered their minds, telling them tales of paradise, was so vivid it was just as brilliant as a picture.
