Camilla Hastings || Jasper Bennett

The cold night air was enough to make anyone shiver, though tonight it seemed to chill to the bone. Nestled in the sand, off the shore of an old port, a makeshift camp was constructed by dozens of men who had just scored quite well in the night. Their riches were carefully tucked away in dozens of boxes upon the sand, though their greatest scores were nestled down in a tent near the back of the camp. Two men stood guard, though such things were hardly needed.

Insides, a girl with caramel hair that hung loose in tangles now was settled upon her knees with her hands bound behind. Cloth over her eyes kept her from seeing much, but she could hear many things around her. Other girls were with her and she could hear them whimpering softly to themselves. She could hear the men just beyond their holding, laughing and congratulating each other on their prices of the evening. Fear stirred in the pit of the young woman's stomach, having no clue what lay in store for her or the others.

Everything had happened so quickly. It was the dead of night when she had awakened to chaos in the courtyard of the palace she called home. She could hear guards rushing about, trying to ensure the safety of all those within the palace. Yet, somehow, a thief had made his way in silence to her room and she was gone in a blink of an eye. Of course, the young girl taken was none other than the princess of the land, yet this held no form of help for her now. No, instead her title caused her to be a lovely price indeed and bound to fetch a high price. Whether this price came from the king and queen, or some fool eager to take her, that had yet to be seen.

Camilla drew in a breath to try and keep utter hysteria from gripping her completely. She had to keep a level head. She had to get out of here. Of course, the young princess had no idea where she was, how to get away, or what to do when she was away, but perhaps she should simply take it one step at a time. Breath and think, she coached herself inwardly. Surely there is something you know that can help you now. And yet, her mind came up completely empty as her upbringing did not include what to do when you have been stolen away from your palace.

{{ I hope this is okay! I had no idea where to start with Jasper, so I just left it with Camilla }}

Sinister Black

It was the middle of the night, the crescent moon was shining down onto the island, basking the pirates' camp in a silvery-blue shimmer, adding a fairytale presence to the old pier, which was currently occupied by pirates celebrating their score of the evening. A chilly breeze touched the faces of the men, warming their hands above self-made fires, igniting the gun powder left on a couple of sticks by firing a gun at it.

The pirates had returned hours ago from a pretty successful raid, arriving back at the shore with enough gold and silver to fill half a dozen crates - though the biggest prize had still been whatever was being guarded in the Captain's tent.

Six young women had been requested by a black market merchant on another island, the Captain obviously not declining the generous amount of gold promised upon completion of the quest. They didn't know what the merchant needed the girls for, and most didn't really care either. Payment was the only thing on these people's minds, and they didn't care how they were going to get it.

Sinister Black was on his way the captain's tent, just having counted the coins and other treasures of the crates to report to the captain. The male was dressed in all black, his iconic black leather coat swirling in the wind just before he opened the tent flap and entered. The captain wasn't inside, only three other pirates probably put in place to keep an eye on the women.

The soft whimpering sounds filled Sinister's ears, carving a hole through his brash outer layer, however not cutting deep enough to actually touch his heart. He was used to things like this, unsure if he was even still able to feel empathy towards human beings. Most of them didn't deserve any anyways.

"Where's the Captain?", Black asked, getting nothing but raised shoulders in return, thus deciding to take a seat on the wooden chair in the back of the tent, looking down on a blindfolded woman sitting on her knees in front of him. He didn't need to look at her for longer than a minute to realize she was a lot different from the other women in the tent. Her clothes seemed to be made of silk, no traces of any labour on her body whatsoever, whereas the other women were dirty, their clothes ragged - either because they were worn down and didn't have enough money to buy a new one, or from working on fields.

No matter what, she wasn't some random peasant the crew picked up, that's all he could tell for now.

Camilla Hastings || Jasper Bennett

One of the young men near the tent was leaned back against a crate, spinning a dagger in his palm as if he was utterly bored. Why did he have to be one to guard these women? He would much rather be looking at their score, counting the treasure, and seeing how much they actually managed to drag off. And yet, here he was guarding six women.

Hearing Sinister Black approach, young Jasper looked over at the man who asked for the captain. He simply offered a shoulder shrug, letting out a deep sigh. "So how much did we get?" he asked casually as he looked to his dagger once again. "Seems like we made off with quite the haul." He grinned lightly, beginning to toss the dagger up into the air. Seeing Black sit down at a chair near the back of the tent, he smirked. "Come to join the party now?"

Camilla's mind was racing as she attempted to figure out a plan, though she froze completely as she heard a new voice come among those so close around them. This one was gruffer than the others, asking for the captain. Camilla sucked in a gentle breath. Are they pirates? She could hear the sounds of boots coming near, followed by the creak of a chair as someone sat very close to her. She remained as still as a mouse, knowing she much be a sight to see. She could already tell that her dress was possibly torn, feeling the evening air reaching her legs far easier than it should be. She could almost bet she was covered in dirt as well.

Getting tired of seeing only the dark color of the cloth before her eyes, Camilla dipped her head slightly to the side as she began to rub the fabric against her shoulder. It hardly moved at first, being tied rather tightly, but gently began to feel it loosen as she listened to one of the men talk. Slowly, but surely, the fabric began to fall over her nose and away from her eyes. Camilla blinked in the moonlight and glanced around, her chocolate gaze landing on the man that now sat in a chair near her. Her wide gaze took him in and dread pulled in her stomach. He looked terrifying, to say the least, and she was certain now that she was dealing with pirates.

Her gaze shifted away from the man, however, when she heard yet another voice approaching.

------------------------------------------
A large man made his way across the sand, a large sword hanging at his side as his gaze swept over the loot that his crew had managed to get here. He smirked darkly as he neared the tent with the six girls he planned to give to the black market merchant that promised quite a large amount of coin for them. Spying his first mate sitting at the tent, the captain crossed his arms over his broad chest. "Well, what's the report?" he asked, his voice having grown rough over the years.
