CocoaMarshmallow

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
For those returning:

The raid against Tediore had... mostly been a success.

It was a fast-in, fast-out operation. The data you needed was now yours. All that needed to be done, then, was to get back to Pandora, the hellhole of a planet from whence you came.
Then the alarms began to blare. Everything became a blur after that. Tediore guards poured out from all sides, ships flew overhead, the whole city's sirens rang out. Together with the Crimson Raiders, you retreated into their home ship- Sanctuary- and flew off into space with them, leaving behind the now-hostile planet once and for all.

But the multi-billiion dollar weapons corporation was not so willing to let you escape. As Sanctuary lurched and launched into light speed, the radar picked up a massive fleet following tail through hyperspace, a fleet even bigger than anyone had expected Tediore to send. The moment you exited hyperspace was the very moment they began firing. Streaks of gunmetal grey flew by Sanctuary, accompanied by barrages of lasers and explosives that pelted the ship. It shook and shuddered, and even though its shielding held steady, the Raiders knew it could not hold forever. Sanctuary returned fire and began to descend into the atmosphere as fast as it could, aiming to get into range of their bases' anti-air defenses.

That was when everything went wrong.

Countless more ships came from the depths of space. Their exteriors did not cry 'Tediore-' they weren't cheap enough, not rough enough, but most were sleeker, and many were twice as fast. Something big hit the ship, and the last thing you heard before the ship began to enter a free fall was the nastiest grinding of metal you'd heard since you got here. Sanctuary descended through the clouds at an alarming pace, and it was clear there would be no chance of restarting the engines. The Raiders rushed you to the escape pods, but there were only so many- only a few of you managed to escape that way, plummeting towards Pandora with no clear target in mind. Those who are here now were unlucky enough to be one of the many left on board the ship. Once you had descended past the stratosphere, it was clear that it was too late. The ship fell and fell, covered in a horrific blaze of fire, and shook the planet of Pandora as it hit the ground.

Whether you blacked out or not on impact was irrelevant. The ship broke into pieces, millions of pounds of metal dragging through ice and water with a deafeningly loud screech.
You were back on Pandora. This time, there was no way off the planet.

For those joining:

It happened fast.

The day had been normal. Well, normal as a day in your universe could be. It didn't matter what you had been doing beforehand. Perhaps you were relaxing. Maybe you had been in the midst of battle. Whatever took you did not care or wait.

The air ripped apart in front of you like a cloth being torn, and in its place was a purple rift. It pulled on you, and pulled hard, like a vacuum that only kept getting stronger by the moment. And even if you could hang on to something or resist the pull, either your strength failed you at some point, or something happened by sheer bad luck that caused you to get sucked into the rift.

1709430488499.png

The corridor you pulled into had walls that spiraled and spiraled. Lightning flashed and thunder clapped. You were left weightless as you floated through the endless, winding tunnel of nothingness.

Then, as fast as you had been taken, you were returned. But not to the world you knew.

The tunnel finally opened. You were deposited on the ground of somewhere unfamiliar... and horribly warm. It was then that you noticed the massive fires that surrounded you, accompanied by towering surfaces of broken, twisted metal like a miniature city made of steel and tungsten, and bodies that littered the ground. They wore armor and masks, leaving you unable to see their faces, but you knew they were either unconscious or dead.

Wherever you had been thrust, it couldn't have been good.

For everyone:

Chapter 1

"Rough Landing"

The ground is icy. Beyond the smoke and fire of the crashed ship you once knew- or did not know- as Sanctuary, you can see glaciers that stood tall over all else that you could see. Where the isn't ice and snow-covered rocks, there's water- freezing cold water that litters the land, weaving through cracks in the massive ice sheets that served as this place's ground. You may be thankful to have landed atop one of these sprawling ice sheets- if you didn't, perhaps you'd have even more problems than you do now.

1709431362411.png

The night sky is covered in stars and constellations, but you can't sit down and enjoy them even if you had the time to. Streaks of light dance across the sky, and you can see distant, intense flashes among them- explosions. It seems that the fleet that was once after those of you who had stolen from Tediore had turned on each other. Surely not all of them are on the same side- that much, you now know.

You are still surrounded by metal and fire, but now you notice... others. People who, thankfully, are not dead. Not one of them look exactly like you. Some are things you probably don't even recognize, species that are completely foreign to you. By all means, you're now stuck among strangers. For those of you who were there with the Crimson Raiders beforehand, you'd see many newcomers that certainly were not here before you crashed, and worryingly, not many from the team that you would recognize. Did they make it out? It's impossible to tell. But for now, all of you, no matter who you know and who you don't, are stuck with each other, surrounded by the remains of a burning ship, ice, freezing cold water, and towering glaciers with no destination in sight. And above all of that, staring down at you from space is the moon of Pandora, decorated with the massive emblem of a phoenix with a crown on its head.

1709432148433.png

It's probably best you assess your situation. Look for survivors, find a way out of this mess, interact with the only other life here- do whatever you desire.

Rumble..... Rumble.....

The wreckage of the ship began to shake as something tried to free itself from underneath it all. Pieces of debris flew from the wreckage as they were thrown off. A figure slowly began to reveal itself as it slowly stumbled to its feet. Dust hid its appearance as it slowly made its way away from the wreckage. As the dust faded away, the figure suddenly straightened itself out like it was never hurt to begin with. Once the dust fully left, it could be seen more clearly that the figure was none other than Lana. She seemed a bit out of it though. A crash like that would probably do that to someone. As she looked around, she could see the bodies of the fallen as a result from the crash. Did she recognize these people? She couldn't remember. She took the stick from her tail as she approached one of the bodies of the Crimson Raiders. She stared down at their motionless body before simply poking it with their stick. Did she even realize they were dead? It was hard to tell....

Mangle

Mangle slowly opened their eyes. One moment they were with their friends at Freddy's and then the next.... they didn't know. It all happened so fast. Where were they? They struggled to push themselves off the ground until eventually they were able to get up on their own two feet. Did any of their friends get brought here too? They looked around.... but they weren't anywhere in sight.
"Springy....? Jenny....?"
They were worried to say the least, but they knew that would only get them so far.
"C'mon Toy Foxy! Get your head in the game! Whether they're here or not doesn't matter if I can't find a way home!..... Should probably start by figuring out where I am though...."

(This post sucks because I'm awful at making the first post)

"Welcome to the Velvet Room!"

An all too familiar sight sits before Makoto Yuki. Igor, the mysterious, long-nosed "host" of the Velvet Room - and his attendant, Elizabeth. They had been instrumental figures in his journey. Elizabeth particularly so. The bond he'd forged with her was one he'd been particularly fond of. Touring her around the various places of the city... including his room.... it had been a fun time. He'd do it again if he could - but he knows that's not why he's here.

Why is he here, even? That's the next question he has to ask. Truthfully, it really is the only logical one. The last time he was truly conscious, he'd been in Aigis' lap on the roof, waiting for their friends. Then... his eyes grew heavy...

makoto-yuki-persona-3-reload.png

...then, he was in the Sea of Souls to fulfill his duty as the Great Seal. That had been his purpose, in the end. He knew that well and had floated in the Sea of Souls accordingly. To act as The Great Seal for Nyx - that is what he should be doing. He should be doing it so everyone can live just a little longer. His story is supposed to be over, and yet... here he is again, sitting in The Velvet Room after his contract had been fulfilled.

He winces. His throat is really dry.

"Your contract has indeed been fulfilled," Igor continues as he stares at Makoto behind his steepled fingers. "But unforeseen circumstances have resulted in your withdrawal from the Sea of Souls, and your return to the land of the living."

Makoto blinks. Unforeseen circumstances...? He isn't quite sure what to think of that. Quite a few questions are running through his head right now - as would be the reasonable reaction, he assumes. Yet he knows that the man across them has already come up with an answer to each one of them. So for now, he remains silent. All he does is stare forward, waiting for things to be explained to him.

"Technically, you are still floating in the Sea of Souls," he goes on to explain. "But your consciousness and "form" exist here. It is your essence - that what gave you your power before, that is acting as The Great Seal."

Okay... that sounds complicated, but Makoto thinks he's following.

"What I mean to say is... right now, you are needed elsewhere. In the time you are gone, your world will be safe. But with this sudden change in your story, a new contract must be signed."

There is a puff of smoke and a wave of the man's hand, and then the contract appears on his desk, pointed toward Makoto.

"Please sign your last and first name on the dotted line, and we may begin."

The contract is signed without any protest. It's not as if he has much of a choice... even if he was perfectly content before, floating in the Sea of Souls, keeping Nyx sealed away.

"Very good," the contract disappears, just like that.

"We wish you luck on your new journey."

With Elizabeth's parting words, there is another flash of light, and the Velvet Room is gone...

...and replaced with an entirely new landscape. It's very different from anything he's used to, to say the least.

There's a beautiful phoenix engraved in the moon. That's the first thing he notices, as he coolly slips his hands down into either pocket. Then, his gaze falls from the night sky to observe his surroundings. He is... on a mountain. Surrounded by snow. Had he been dropped in the Himalayas...? No... that can't be right. With his Genius academics, it's pretty easy for him to know that this looks nothing like that particular mountain range. Or any earthly mountain range, for that matter.

Okay... so where is he, then? That's what he should figure out first, he thinks. That, and who exactly arrived here with him. Maybe he should start with that fox girl screaming to his right.

"Hey."
"Shut up."
> "What's wrong?"

It's as good a start as any.

INTERACTIONS:

"We're going down!"
"Get to the escape pods!"
"I want my mommy!"

Screams, flames, Crimson Raiders, and every unsecured item filled the halls of Sanctuary as the ship plummeted towards the surface of Pandora. The few lucky ones that managed to reach an escape pod would have a chance at surviving, but the ones still crying and screaming? Their Souls were simply waiting for their bodies to die in the inevitable crash. Samael acknowledged that he had a job to do, but first, he had to make sure he and his partner survived the crash. Agents of the Grim Reaper they may be, but the penalty for losing their physical bodies remains steep.

Now, surviving atmospheric reentry was simply, granted Samael and Juri were wearing their HARM Suits. However, those chances of survival without injury dwindled every moment they remained on this ship. If the SERAPH had his way, he'd free falling through the sky in relative safety right now, but his "sister" had other plans. He wouldn't abandon Juri and unfortunately, Juri wouldn't abandon any Soul she had a chance of saving. Somewhere on this ship, the other SERAPH was doing her best to drag as many people as she could to the few remaining escape pods.

Samael plowed through debris and gouts of unindentified fluids as he approached Juri's marker on his HUD. The airtight hatch that separated the two was torn apart like cardboard against the loader arms of Samael's suit, revealing Juri carry two men and dragging a third. "Juri, we have to go-"

"There are three more in the room! Please, grab them, darling." Juri's voice was strained, moreso by concern than physical exertion. She didn't even give Samael a second look before she took off towards the lifepods. The Segador spared a glance at the three Crimson Raiders leaning against the wall and weighed their life force. They didn't have long, even if they made it to the pods. Though Juri didn't have Samael's Shinigami Eyes, her expertise must have told her that their wounds were a death sentence.

He sighed, picking up the wounded Raiders and following Juri's path until they reached the drop pods. Once they got all these stragglers in, Samael would convince Juri to bail out of Sanctuary before it was too late. Without setting down the three he carried, he reached for the first escape pod's hatch. Launched. He looked to the next one. Launched. His eyes continued down the rows of pods, but he already knew what he would see. They were all launched. Setting down the ones in his arms, he ignored their pleas for help and firmly grabbed Juri's shoulder. Through a secured channel, he said, "They aren't going to make it. You know that."

Even with their helmets on, Samael could see his "sister's" eyes pleading with him, begging him to help her find a way to save these people. However, Samael prioritized the lives of his partner over the lives of nameless collateral. He gave his answer by ripping open one the hatch to an emptied escape pod tube and grabbed Juri by the shackle around her neck. Though she began to audibly protest, he threw her down the tube and turned to look at the crowd around him. "We cannot help you in this life, but rest assured, we will guide you in the next."

The ones who were still conscious scrambled towards the Segador, trying to cling onto any hope of survival. However, before they could even come within a meter of Samael, he stepped into the launch tube and plummeted towards the surface. As soon as he fell through the tube, he felt the open air impact his frame. The rush of frigid, glacial air buffeted Samael until he tucked his arms and straightened his legs until his body resembled a crude arrow.

He dove away from the shadow of Sanctuary, following Juri's tracker to avoid separation. Having the benefit of riding the Sanctuary into the atmosphere, Samael did not burn as the ship did, but it also meant that he had to contend with a shower of red hot shrapnel disintegrating from the ship's frame. As chunks of metal tried to dissuade his course, the SERAPH allowed his suit's Shield Matrix to deflect trivial pieces of shrapnel as he dodged the larger pieces on his way down.

The altimeter in his HUD rapidly counted down as he descended in a dive, only stopping once he broke through the clouds and got visual confirmation on a potential landing sight. Seeing this, Samael then splayed out his limits as air brakes, slowing his descent however he can so that he can adequately position himself for the landing. Ten thousand meters soon turned into a thousand meters, signalling Samael to prepare for the final descent. Rotating himself, Samael aimed his legs towards the ground and tucked his body together to remain stable. As he approached, his Shield Matrix formed a canopy above his head in the approximation of a parachute and a barrier at his feet to absorb the impact.

Upon hitting the ground, the ice and rocks beneath the SERAPH would turn dust as his Shield Matrix redirected the force of the impact back into the ground. In a fraction of a second, dozens of layers of his shields would shatter as they exceeded their energy thresholds, replaced with as many layers as the HARM Suit could muster and rapidly draining the suit's power reserves. Before the dust settled, Samael's visor darked as his suit began the tiresome task of rebooting itself and running a suite of tests to account for any damage sustained by the fall.

Seconds later, his visor began to flicker on. Starting with his situational awareness systems and followed by his communications systems, information filled his HUD again, accompanied by a list of error codes that scrolled at a rate that no human could possibly understand. Despite the disaster the internal diagnostic suggested, Samael was unharmed and his suit only looked slightly worse for wear. Samael's AI would parse the data for the most relevant errors and immediately begin self repairs.

While his AI worked, Samael leapt out of his crater and watched as Sanctuary crashed into a glacial cliffside, illuminating the frozen wasteland with its burning wreckage. The sky above was a similar sight, with Tediore's fleet engaging the unidentified squadron that appeared as Sanctuary appeared above Pandora and sending the wreckage of both sides crashing down across Pandora. While shrapnel from Sanctuary littered the drop zone, Samael could see the movement of survivors scattered around the canyon. When his Entity Tracking Icons rebooted, he could see Juri's icon moving towards him. A communications request from Juri soon populated on his HUD and he was half expecting his "sister" to launch into a tirade against him.

"Glad to see you're aren't flatlined, Samael," Though she wasn't scolding him, the iciness of her voice sent a chill down Samael's spine. It was uncomfortable hearing Juri's normally warm, honeyed words turn cold and detached. While SERAPHs were far from kind and compassionate, Juri was the exception…and to see her revert back to the norm was disturbing. "Let's find the other survivors. They won't last long out in the cold."

After his decision minutes ago, he owed Juri this decision. He nodded and began to walk towards the survivors pinged on his HUD. However, before he got far, Juri placed her hand on his arm. "Yes?"

"I don't blame you, but I'm not razed with you either. You know how I feel about lives that could be spared… And before you say we couldn't save them…don't. You don't know that." Juri briefly looked at a nearby corpse trapped under rubble before turning her gaze right back on Samael. "We're SERAPHs. We accomplish our mission at all costs. We make the impossible possible."

Samael didn't respond. Any of the logical remarks or biting quips he could come up with would only upset Juri further. Though she was needlessly emotional over innocent lives, she was an invaluable ally and his "sister." He held her gaze until she broke off towards the nearest escape pod, trying to recover the survivors.

Captain John Connor

Year: 2XXX
Time: ???
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There wasn't too much going on in Tech-Com Captain John Connor's area at the moment as there was little terminators in the area for now anyway. For what was a machine war if it was ... boring?

Except John's life would change in a instant when a portal opens up out of nowhere and literally sucks himself inside. The man struggles to comprehend the actual portal thing other than it being someone else's doing.

Either way, it lands him in a desert-like area, dry, metal and fire everywhere, people in armor and masks either dead or unconscious at least for now. He wasn't sure where or what these people with masks were but he wasn't risking a chance to ask or try.

He eyed the glaciers and looked around, eying for survivors. However, coming from a nuclear fallout area, he is wearing a fur lined pilot jacket for cold areas.
