Fantasy How does 1 on 1 work?

If you go to - RP discussion forum - there are plenty of folks who can walk you through 1x1s and how to do them. ( this is more a place to put interest checks and seek out partners to roleplay with )

That being said 1x1s are a roleplay between 2 to 3 people and are much more intimate than groups. The good thing about 1x1s is that you are making up everything ( story, characters, plot, etc. ) with someone else's direct input rather than just playing out a story that the GM made up.

You can play any genre, any plot, any pairing.

You can even play with many different characters ( as you and your partner can make multiple characters for the plot )

It's also easily customized to your specific level and interests. You are more able to be specific in what you're looking for than in groups and you have more control over exactly where a story goes and individual elements.

As to the mechanics - like how you physically roleplay - it's no different than in groups just with less people.

Hopefully that covers the basics if you have any further questions you're welcome to ask in the Discussion forums. People love giving advice.
