What’s up yall. This is the official character sheet thread for the Hogwarts Years 1-7 RP.

As for what’s on your character sheets, I have no specific format. You can be as detailed or not as you want but please, just give us something to work with.

It doesn’t need to be fancy or anything or formatted any specific way just as long as I can get a basic idea of what your character is gonna be like.

Please feel free to post your characters here. I’ll give you a little message or a like if I approve you.

Name: Kirian Cyrus (real surname: Astor)

Species: Part-Human (half-Veela)

Ethnicity: Korean-Scottish

APPEARANCE:



Facial Features: Kirian probably looks like your haughty traditional upper-class jerkass. His face seems almost flawless, at least physically, with high cheekbones that are barely visible. His cheeks are not sunken in per say, but they aren’t puffed out either. In fact, his cheeks are probably on-par with his skin, I mean, about the same level. His lips are thin, usually pursed in a scowling expression. Kirian’s jaw is mostly squared, no butt chin or anything like that, but his face isn’t necessarily blocky. It’s probably more like the v-shape we sometimes associate with the “Korean Beauty Standard” (a false stereotype FYI).



Eye Color: Dark green (think forest-green), almond-shaped, usually narrowed but naturally pretty big



Hair Color: Naturally a platinum blonde, but dyed jet-black with streaks of auburn, in a bit of a pompadour fashion, but not entirely gelled back



Body Type: Kirian prefers magic over brute strength, and as a result, he’s lean, not too muscular, but not a stick either. He has a more rectangular build around his torso, with only his calf muscles defined as you go farther down. On his upper body, his biceps are…there, but not really defined, and his arms take on the longer and more lankier shape. Now that I think about it, he sort of has a bit of a feminine build, but don’t you dare tell him that.



Skin: Kirian’s skin is a light tan, almost the yellow-ish we commonly associate with “Asian skin” (again, harmful stereotype). Due to his half-breed heritage, Kirian is naturally attractive, his skin giving off more of a shine/gleam, even if there’s no daylight out. It’s also smooth as silk to the touch, except on the undersides of his hands.



Height/Weight: 6’0, 175 pounds



Normal Clothes: Kirian wears more dressy-casual, with lots of black/gray/white trouser pants. He also enjoys wearing leather shoes, especially Oxford wingtips. While not a requirement, he also almost always wears some form of a leather belt. For his upper-body, Kirian usually wears some form of a navy/white/other dark or neutral colored silk satin undershirt with a wide v-neck, and sleeves that go to about his elbows. He also wears the silver ring with the Astor family crest on his left hand, and usually a single white glove on his right. He can also wear beanies and some long-sleeved non-graphic t-shirts underneath hoodies and sweatshirts. You will NOT find him wearing school spirit. You will NOT find him wearing athletic leisure or workout clothes.

Younger Appearance: In his time at Hogwarts, Kirian had a more side-quaff like hairstyle, and there were no auburn streaks. His face was more sunken in due to stress and anxiety, and his eyes didn’t have that gleam as they do now. Other than that, pretty much the same.



Misc: Has an Ouroboros tattoo on the top of his right hand



PERSONAL-



Backstory: Kirian was born to the Senior Undersecretary for the Minister Corven Astor, who was from a wealthy and well-known pureblood family. Like most purebred families, they only married/had romantic relationships with other pure-blood families, and were NOTORIOUSLY strict about how they conducted relationships. Because of this, the family was almost infamous, but still extremely wealthy and powerful. Past ancestors had served as Ministers of Magic, and Kirian’s great-great-grandfather had been headmaster of Hogwarts at one point in time.



Long story short, not necessarily the best family to be born out of wedlock by. Kirian’s birth was entirely accidental, as Corven, out on his morning jog one day around Diagon, spotted a woman staring at the wand shop. Confused, he asked her what was wrong, and her response simply was: “I’ll never be able to.” Believing she was simply a homeless witch, Corven (semi-reluctantly) took her home for the night, offering food, shelter, and…something else, as his wife Maria was out on town on an Auror mission. Yes, he cheated on his wife, yes, this was partially in my head played as the Reynolds scandal.



When Maria came home, Corven struggled to get his act together, both with his job and personally. She was pregnant with two twins around the time Corven had the affair, and was unaware of this even today. Carven honestly didn’t think too much about it…until he saw the woman again a few months later, at the exact same spot. And of course, she at least whispered to him that she was pregnant. Now, as to whether she was kidding or not, Corven didn’t care. If anyone found out, his life was ruined.



Now, this is also going to ruin Corven’s life and career on another level. He’d always found the mysterious stranger attractive, maybe more-so than his wife, but never cared much for it. Until he did some more research based off the woman’s behavior, and came to the conclusion that she was a Veela. Double shit. He ditched the woman and never saw her again. He’d been determined to put whatever horrible shit he’d done behind him.



Fast-forward about 5 months later, Helena, the Veela, gave birth to a bouncing baby boy, who we’ll call Kirian. Helena never told her son much about his father, he did that on his own time during his time at Hogwarts. He was mostly raised by his Veela relatives for the majority of his early childhood, who also discovered that the boy had a penchant for magic, after all, he was half-wizard. He also adopted his mother’s maiden name of Cyrus, though he never knew exactly why, and that it was his mother’s maiden name until much later in life.



Well, when the time came and somehow, Kirian’s acceptance letter arrived, his relatives were puzzled. After all, none of them could go to Diagon Alley. Helena managed, however, to phone her friend Eleanor to take the boy, as she was a half-blooded wizard, and the two bought all of his school supplies and other boring stuff.

Relationships:

• Corven Astor (biological father): Kirian’s biological father, Senior Undersecretary to the Minister, 56 now. He’s a workaholic, strict, cold-hearted man, with a bit of a playboy attitude that his son would adopt. Was focused primarily on himself and didn’t care much for others. Kirian never wants to meet him, has no interest in the guy, and doesn’t even know he exists. Corven, however, has a desire to see his biological son someday. FC: Richard Madden.
• Helena Cyrus (mother): Kirian’s biological mother, a full-blooded Veela originally from South Korea, 52 now. She’s quite generous and caring, almost like a traditional housewife. Is extremely extroverted and always wants to speak her mind. Highly opinionated. Kirian’s main role model growing up, probably who he was closest to prior to Hogwarts. Still keeps in touch with her and comes home every so often. FC: Natasha Lou Bordizzo.
• Tanya Cyrus (maternal aunt): Kirian’s oldest maternal aunt, a full-blooded Veela, 57 now. She’s implied to be the strictest out of the triplets, but means well in the end. Also divorced and married several times over, and currently works as a mailman in London. Despises pure-blood families, and is actually unaware that Kirian is a half-breed (was lied to by Helena and Rose about the true identity of his father). Kirian likes her, even if she is a bit strict. Was the woman who taught him “human” subjects growing up. FC: Kelly Hu.
• Rose Cyrus (maternal aunt): Kirian’s youngest maternal aunt, a full-blooded Veela, 50 now. She’s the most naive and imaginative out of the three, also the most introverted. Never got involved much in family affairs, but is known to have a soft spot for magical creatures and Muggle-born wizards. Also the one to introduce Kirian to Jane Austen and many Muggle authors, as well as Harry Potter/JK Rowling. Kirian likes her more than his mother, which he states on many occasions. FC: Gong Li.

Personality: Ah, here we go. Let me start off by yet another pop-culture reference here: you know Chuck Bass from Gossip Girl, in Seasons 5/6? If you don’t, look him up (look at the later seasons only), but if you do. That might be a good starting off point for describing Kirian.



He’s almost certainly an anti-hero, even if he doesn’t absolutely exemplify some of the tropes used. He’s more of an extrovert than you would think, very charismatic and able to use his charm, supernatural beauty, and wit to his advantage. He can come off as a bit wary/aloof at first, but once you get to know him, he can really warm up to you.



His playboy/seductive attitude, while not as big of a factor of his personality as his initial parallel, is still there. He’s slept around a bit, sure. He’s had a few kids, sure. But he’s a lot more cautious nowadays, and while I called him out as a Hamilton during him and Laurentius’ duel, is more of a Burr type. He prefers to, nowadays, watch on the sidelines and sees what happens. He wants to watch the world essentially come to a breaking point, and THEN step in.



Does that make him a villain? Nah, not necessarily. He’s just afraid that if he steps in, he’ll just make things worse. This belief was mainly perpetuated from his years at Hogwarts, and only became stronger after he became an Auror. While he CAN take a leadership position, he won’t take the protagonist role. He’ll take the helper (NOT SIDEKICK) role or the rival role.



On a notable subject is his half-breed heritage, which he tries to hide mostly. Kirian is VERY touchy about the topic, usually referring to himself as a half-blood wizard, not saying anything more. He suffered discrimination as a child from when he did tell anyone, and has since closed off by brushing it off or harshly blaming the other person.



Likes: Being in a crowd, being popular, loud music, Jane Austen, dueling (it’s complicated)



Dislikes: Darkness, dark Wizards, classical music, horror movies, Muggle-born wizards, people not using their brains



Hobbies: Sewing (picked it up from his aunts), cooking (again, his mother, Korean BBQ), wand collecting (if you have an old wand, give it to him, he’ll find something to do with it)



Fears: Arachnophobic, heights, clowns, and going on a boat (suffers from motion sickness)



Habits: Crosses his arms, wraps his hands around his neck, taps his foot, cockily smirks



MAGIC-RELATED:



Blood Status: Half-Blood (pureblood father, Being mother)



Wand Dimensions/Properties:

• Wood: Aspen
• Core: Chimera Scale Fragment (1/4th, EXTREMELY rare due to there only have been one recorded Chimera slaying in history, has LOTS of raw power, but difficult to control)
• Length: 12.5 inches
• Flexibility: Unyielding

Wand Appearance: An ivory-white, fine-grained wand, with a sharp-edged point near the end. It’s straight as a stick, except the piece of wood used to make the wand was initially much longer, and so some of the wood curled in on itself to make a gnarled handle. Several scars and etchings of unknown origin appear for the next few inches after it, before smoothing out completely to a point. Besides the initial “handle”, almost has a shape similar to a pencil.



Hogwarts House: Hufflepuff



Favorite Class: Defense Against the Dark Arts



Extracurricular Activities: Dueling Club and Quidditch (Hufflepuff captain 6th/7th year, Seeker)



Pet: A black cat with amber eyes by the name of Nyx, after the Greek Titan of night. Still has her to this day, got her during his 1st year at Hogwarts.



Reputation: During his time at Hogwarts, Kirian could’ve been considered the “golden boy” of the class. He was frequently crushed on, but was perceived as “dumb”, compared to the know-it-alls in the class (he was impulsive, not dumb). Kirian liked the popularity, but suffered anxiety and depression as a result of it, causing his popularity to tank in his last 2 years at Hogwarts (sorry, I know this sounds weird, and in the past-tense, but you get the idea.)



Profession: Student (currently), Auror (implied; in the future)



Patronus: Chimera (future)



PLOT-RELATED:

Opinion on a Non-Magical Person Being Around: Depending on the person, Kirian either hates them or loves them. If they aren’t bitchy, are curious, and don’t care about him for his looks, he’ll warm up to anyone.



Character Death: Probably would go out in a blaze of glory defending one of the other main cast members, not necessarily the most memorable at the time, but harsher in hindsight.

Plot Ideas I Don’t Want (I don’t know how involved you want to be as GM):

• Anything involving suicide. No. Just no.
• Kirian breaking off ties with his Veela side.
• Kirian/another boy ships. I support and am close friends with gay people, but so far male/male ships for Kirian have not gone well. Not saying men can’t like him, I just don’t want any ship-tease or anything between Kirian and another guy.
• Kirian becoming a Dark Mage

MISC:



Romance: Single as the number one. Probably looking for the rebel girl or the girl who isn’t afraid to speak her mind. Would probably have been to be a slow-burn with A LOT of sexual tension, could be enemies to lovers.



Boggart: Pennywise from IT, would end up turning into a single red balloon and floating upwards



Common Spells: Not really any in particular, but loved focusing on Transfiguration and Occulemency.

(A bit of a mess of a character sheet since this is kind of two characters combined into one. Apologies for that, hopefully this helps give you a basic idea of the character tho.)

Hair color: Brown (soft and fair)

Build: average height, attractive young athletic male

Chase is an athletically built and quite attractive young man who is about average height for his age. Some might call him cute.

Personality: Chase is quite the confident young boy. Sometimes he might come off as cocky at times too. Admittedly, the boy can get ahead of himself sometimes and a bit in over his head. But underneath the confident and sometimes overly so athlete is a kind and compassionate caring young boy who is friendly at heart.

Chase is extremely skilled at Quidditch and is an excellent flyer, being taught to fly on a broom and even Quidditch at such a young age, mostly due to his father. The boy wants nothing more than to follow in his father’s footsteps and become a Quidditch star for whatever house he is sorted into (Gryffindor) just like his father was back in the day (for Gryffindor too). He has ambitions to be a rare case where a rookie first year makes the Gryffindor Quidditch team as a Seeker just like his dad did because of his amazing talents.

Likes: Quidditch, playing and doing anything active, flying on his broom, hanging with friends, popularity, being recognized for his father

Dislikes: homework, classes for the most part, assignments, being picked on by his older brother

Great at: Quidditch or anything really physical in general

Awful at: Classes like Astronomy, Herbology, and History of Magic

Social standing and family background: The Crosby family is particularly respected amongst fellow Gryffindors. Being upper middle class bloods, the Crosby family isn’t wealthy, but they are well off and financially stable. The Crosby last name is recognized by both admirers of Andrew Crosby, the star Gryffindor seeker, and rivals from Slytherin alike. In general, the Crosby family is well-respected.

Extra: Chase is an ambitious and generous young boy at heart. He’s extremely athletic and talented at Quidditch, particularly a fast flyer hoping to become a Seeker for the Quidditch team.

However, sometimes he is irresponsible and rowdy, and because of this, Chase was not allowed to have an animal pet to take with him to Hogwarts because his parents did not trust him to take care of a living thing.

Chase is quite the confident young man, and admittedly can get a bit ahead of himself at times. Known to be confident and sometimes down right cocky, Crosby sometimes gets a little bit in over his head. Despite all this though, underneath the sometimes arrogant and certainly always confident young boy, is a sensitive, caring, and friendly young boy.

Skills/Talents: Chase Crosby is an EXTREMELY skilled broom stick flyer and is particularly fast. From a young age, he was taught to play Quidditch, particularly the position of Seeker. Chase showed pure talent and promising signs of an excellent future Seeker. The athletic boy is hoping to eventually join the Quidditch team for his house.

Upon arriving at Hogwarts, the young boy will be sorted into Gryffindor, the house his dad was sorted into when he was Chase’s age.

Looks strikingly similar to his younger brother Chase. Often get mistaken for each other, the difference between the two is the obvious slight difference in height and Thomas just looks a bit older.

Personality

Personality: Grace is said to have the image of the perfect pure blooded daughter from a famous family. And there is some truth to that but once you get to meet her, you will not find a cold and mean girl. Instead you'll get a kind, smart, and beautiful girl who occasionally put up that front for the sake of her family's image. She takes her studies quite seriously hopefully one day being able to work for the ministry of magic instead of being married off to another pureblood family to her family' choosing.

Likes: Her studies, dancing, the balls her family throws, reading, singing

Dislikes: Wearing a corset, Doing anything athletic

Great at: Her studies plus most of her classes and ballroom dancing

Awful at: Athletics like Quidditch and the like

Social standing and family background: The Walsh family is quite well known to most people who are aware purebloods exist, and most especially famous in Slytherin where most members of the family were sorted in. They are quite wealthy and aren't afraid to show it off, their family usually hosts grand balls and parties for friends and guests. In general, the Walsh family is very famous in the Wizarding World.

Skills/Talents: Grace is quite adept in charms, having to know a lot from a young age since her mother was quite fond of charms herself. Can also be a pretty good dueler since her father was a famous one in his days at Hogwarts. She is also amazing at ballroom dancing, having gone to many since she was young.

Family

Parents: Daniel Walsh (former Slytherin, Hogwarts Alumni, and amazing duelist) and Amelia Walsh (former Slytherin, Hogwarts Alumni, and Animagus). Both were engaged with each other at a young age because of their families, but luckily their arranged marriage blossomed into one with love.

Personality

Personality: When it comes to Sara, what you see is what you get, aka a relentlessly curious and perky young girl. Despite her house, she's extremely cavalier, often opting to do crazy experiments such as trying to lure sea monsters from the Black lake, or irking her crankier Professors with endless hypothetical questions instead of paying attention in class. Excited about finally having access to a world she could only know about from outside in, she's riding a high, and you would be hard pressed to ever find her being any less than exhilarated at anytime. Is naturally quite intelligent, but doesn't place a lot of stock in passing her classes, more content to devoting her energy to learning what she views as important.

Likes: Experimenting, chatting with anybody, charming muggle stuff

Dislikes: Handwriting, sitting still, being quiet

Great at: Practical quizzes, baking, and coming up with ideas

Awful at: Reading the room, quidditch, paying attention to boring topics

Social standing and family background: Her father, Matias Foxley is a very well-known figure within the pureblood community, a famous bachelor who's never settled down, nobody any the wiser of his past tryst with a muggle woman. Her mother Greta Alcott is a classic lower middle-class secretary with a few friends, not remarkable in the mother world and straight up unknown in the wizard world.

Skills/Talents: Sara's academic capabilities are a mixed bag to say the least. Excelling in topics she adores such as Potions and Charms, but flopping in most others. Surprisingly, she's an adept cook, loving to experiment in the kitchen.

Family

Parents: Matias Foxley (former Slytherin, Hogwarts Alumni, known blood purist) and Greta Horton (Muggle secratarty). When Matias was 18, he had a fling with a muggle woman, one he came to be deeply ashamed of in his later years. He abandoned Greta, who remarried Quentin Alcott and had two children.

Personality

Personality: Aggression is the name of Titus's game, a kid with a chip on his shoulder and something to prove. He's abrasive, easily angered, reckless, and just as likely to solve any problem with his fists as with his wand. He's loud and hates being overshadowed in any way and often can bully others into falling in line by sheer physicality, leading to an ego nearly as large as his biceps. Due to his muggle background, Titus finds lots of the wizarding world to be needlessly complicated and prefers things to be straight-laced and forward. Titus will never lie, backstab or scheme instead he'd rather beat his problems head-on. Due to his background off the street, Titus recognizes the worth of close friends and if you manage to impress or make yourself worthy to him, he'll gladly accept you. While he isn't particularly studious, Titus can often beat some Ravenclaw kid into "helping" him with his work.

Likes: Violence, Magical Beasts (secretly, doesn't wanna be seen as soft)

Dislikes: The rich, Gryffindors, being quiet

Great at: Working with animals, dueling, and intimidation

Awful at: Working things out peacefully, listening to authority, and potions

Social standing and family background: Titus never knew his father but was raised partially by his mother, before she, unfortunately, passed away while he was 7 years old. He was put into the foster care system but couldn't stand the rigidity and lack of freedom this allowed him, leading him to run away and began a life on the street learning from older orphans and ruffians until his letter mysteriously arrived, he holds no social standing.

Skills/Talents: Titus due to his prodigious bulk and height would make a fine beater upon the Quidditch team, though he more often excels in anything relating to animals/magical beasts, though he struggles in just about everything else.

Personality

Personality: Marek is a hard worker that from a young age had a work ethic drilled into him. Quite skinny and scrawny, he is of average height for his age, if a bit on the shorter side. Background:
Finn never seemed to fit in or belong with his peers. Other kids could just sense there was something different about him, and his timid nature made him the perfect target. As such, he was bullied relentlessly all his life since the start of primary school. So of course, even though he always did exceedingly well in school despite the torment, the boy was dreading yet another year of it. It wasn't until a strange person arrived at his family's home, a professor from a secret realm right under their noses, did he realize things were about to change for him. The professor took the boy and his parents to this captivating land, to get them acquainted with his amazing new life and everything he'd need for his magical education. Naturally, Finn was completely fascinated by the wizarding world, especially all the magical creatures that inhabit it, and began consuming as many magical books as he could get could his hands on before the start of his first year at Hogwarts.

Skills/Talents: A clever and perceptive boy, he's very good at deciphering potion recipes to execute them exactly as they're intended, often with excellent results.

Family: His parents, Roger and Nicolette Sixsmith were high school sweethearts, both good-looking and popular growing up. Though they love their nerdy, introverted son dearly, they had a hard time relating to his troubles with making friends, and their attempts at intervening to stop his bullying often fell on deaf ears by the school.   Piper's personality is hard to put into words. The young girl can come off as cocky and abrasive, but oftentimes she keeps to herself. However, she's not afraid to speak her own mind. History:
Exodious was born on an extremely cold, Snowy night on the 7th of December in Edinburgh, Scotland 1991, to Lukas, a muggle, and Haida, a witch/extremely short gian, Ta'Xet. His young days were full of hardships and struggles, as most muggles would say. His Mother and Father were both murdered on December 7th, 1996, at 13:30, he walked in to see them dead, lying on the floor, with the man that killed them standing over their bodies in a black robe, the man looked at him and struck me with a spell. To this day Exodious cannot seem to make out the words that the man mumbled under his breath, but he remembers a bright red light coming out of his wand and then everything was black. Years later on December 7th, 2001 12:03 (am) Exodious had woken up to a vivid nightmare where he was there to witness the sight of his parents being killed. It was then that he showed his first sign of having magic, in which he tore his entire house apart, his screams were so loud, and the wound across his left eye opened up, which ended up pouring blood from his eye which was just far too much, to the point that he ended up passing out.

On January 31st, 2021 Exodious woke up in the hospital, his aunt and uncle, May and Richard Tia, both of which were muggles, were sleeping at my bedside, He got up and roamed the quiet halls for hours until he had finally run into a doctor, he had reinformed me about everything that happened, and then continued to encourage Exodious to not touch his left eye for a couple of months. And during those months Exodious moved in with his aunt and uncle in their new house, it was amazing, our house was HUGE, it felt like I was one of the richest people on the planet. And on August 13th, 2002, he got his letter to Hogwarts, from there on he quickly got to work.

At the Age of twelve, Exodious was having to study day and night just to pass his classes. He wanted to know how every spell worked, He wanted to know the mechanics of the spells and charms along with the descriptions of what they do. But his all-time favorite class was a defense against the dark arts, the study of the Patronus charm and the animagus' were his favorite subjects.

  ☀ Joan and Kasmirov were brought into this world by an unusual couple. Both purebloods. Delphina Isadora Travers, the quiet, kind-hearted Hufflepuff sister to the infamous Death Eater, Melanthius Travers. The other, Eteocles, a ruthless Death Eater of old money, who tried to wiggle his way into Voldemort's inner circle. Although unsuccessful, he remained loyal to the idealism of pureblood supremacy, and through an arranged marriage, was coupled with Delphina, seven years his junior.
  ☀ With Death Eaters facing the wrath of the Aurors shortly after the end of the First Wizarding War, Eteocles took his wife and hid in the countryside near a Muggle community.
  ☀ Their first child, Joan, was born with Blount's Disease, causing bow-leggedness. Eteocles was resentful of the affliction, deeming her worthless to him. If her primary role in life were to secure ties between other pureblooded family, surely no family could be persuaded to marry his broken daughter—and to have the scorn of his allies for having a disfigured child! It embittered him further, as he had already lost so much pride when hiding amongst filthy Muggles.
  ☀ Fortunately, Delphina was able to seek help from Muggle doctors who fitted Joan with leg braces. There was hope for her to run and play with other children one day, but for the time being, she endured the harassment of the Muggle children at school. The torment at school, however, was nothing in comparison to that at home.
  ☀ Eteocles spent much of his time home as the family's personal devil. As a ruthless alcoholic, it was rare to see him sober or in any "good" mood. While Delphina and Joan avoided him at all costs, their evasions were often all for naught, and he regularly cornered them and issued punishments. Though Delphina wished to protect her daughter, the constant abuse instilled a sense of hopelessness. It wasn't until she was pregnant with Kasmirov that the violence took pause, if only to avoid hurting a prospective heir.
  ☀ Joan loved Kasmirov the moment she saw him. She never wanted him to be a victim of their father's abuse as she and her mother did. Promising to protect him, she no longer took the punches quietly. A bud of motherliness blossomed within her despite her young age. Joan became fierce, hardy, and defiant—in stark opposition of her mother who had become weak-willed, timid, and subservient. By the time she was eight, she was more mobile and agile than ever with the removal of her leg braces.
  ☀ Alas, damage did take its toll even as she became resistant and more clever. Her courage didn't displace her fear. The mixture of emotional, mental, and physical trauma stunted her magic growth. A proclaimed squib. Her proud father, angry and bitter as he was, did not take this development (or lack thereof) well. Things at home became even rougher.
  ☀ After the braces were off, she was able to feel some semblance to "normal." She spent much of her time outdoors with the toddling Kasmirov. Less time with her meek mother and that with her abusive, capricious father. She took advantage of the outside air, of the trees she never was able to climb, put as much stress her legs could handle after all those years of being the child on the sidelines, watching the other kids play.
  ☀ Aged nine and four, Joan and Kasmirov's lives were impacted further. Their father's unruly, aggressive behavior only escalated with seclusion from the rest of the wizarding world. On an evening that the children were outside exploring and playing, Eteocles cemented his wife's fate, murdering Delphina in a drunken rage. Joan trundled home with a sleeping Kasmirov on her hip, and when she crossed the threshold, her world changed.
  ☀ His mother's disppearance left Kas distraught and Joan did all she could to hide the truth and console her baby brother. She started gathering as many galleons, sickles, and knuts as she could find and started saving up. When her father slept after hours of drinking, she went through his pockets, and hid the change upstairs in her sock drawer.
  ☀ Eighteen months later, and with lots of planning and reviewing parchments and maps of the magical community found in her father's study, she took Kasmirov and ran. After lots of train-hopping and traveling, the two arrived in Hogsmeade's.
  ☀ They spent much of their time at the Hog's Head Inn. Aberforth eventually gave the Nees siblings free boarding in exchange for Joan's help with keeping the inn tidy and doing odd chores until she attended school, returning to help during the holidays. With the unsettling fact that Joan would have to leave her brother while she was at Hogwarts, she sought out someone to look after Kasmirov, to assure his safety. Mrs. Flume, co-owner of Honeydukes, agreed to look after him during the day.
  ☀ Being so young, Kasmirov cannot remember the gorey details of his tragic upbringing. It's likely for that reason that he blossomed into such a energetic, optimistic child while he sister remained darkened by their shared past. While it was sometimes lonely not having Joan, he did enjoy minding the shop with Mrs. Flume and getting lots of attention from those staying at the Hog's Head Inn. Joan was never far away, and it helped immensely when Aberforth managed to convince Headmistress McGonagall to let Joan attend Hogsmeade trips on the weekends to visit Kas.
  ☀ After five years of living on their own—with beloved help—it is finally Kasmirov's turn to take the journey to Hogwarts!
