ᴄᴏғғᴇᴇ ᴍᴀᴋᴇʀ~
Hidden in Plain Sight RP Area
Pretty self explanatory.

PLOT:
Living in a semi futuristic present, people with superhuman or non-human abilities are seen as witches and supernatural beings. Humans tend to treat things that they don't understand with prejudice. It's unfortunate for them, considering that they don't know, or understand, many things. People with non-human abilities are seen as things that they aren't. Well, for the most part. There can be tension between humans as well as the people with non-human abilities. Although the reasons for the tensions between people with non-human abilities may be caused for many more reasons.

Humans treat these people as unstable animals. As soon as someone is convicted of using these nonhuman abilities, they are immediately punished. Whether it'd be to rot in jail, or to be beaten to death.

Which is why people who use their nonhuman abilities have ways to blend in with the public. It may be pills, jewelry, or special clothing with their own way to help the user in disguising their identity. Those who can't afford such luxuries are forced to find an alternative.

Carmen woke up that morning to the sound of an alarm she had set up on her phone. Like a lot of people, she wasn't a morning person. Without her alarm, she'd probably end up waking up in the middle of the day, messing up her sleep schedule. It was around 7 am, about 2 and a half hours before she opens up shop. She got out of bed sluggishly, and brushed her hair out of her face before pulling the covers over her bed and getting ready for the day.

She picked out a simple outfit: a long sleeved frilly blouse and a pair of black skinny jeans. Of course, she brought her scarf with her. It was probably the worst accessory to couple with her outfit but she was attached to it. And somehow, she felt that it protected her. After collecting her things, she left, locking the door behind her. "Alright, time to be productive today," she thought to herself suddenly feeling a spark of motivation.

She was immediately headed for the convenience store to stock up on groceries after realizing that she didn't have much left at home. When she walked into the store she saw a man who seemed to be around her age with pastel blue hair at the counter. He looked bored, and angry. She wondered what his problem was and quickly assumed that he hated his job. She walked up and down the isles making sure to look for the essentials first before spending the little money she brought with her on candy.

In-su woke up to find himself drooling on the his living room couch. The tv was on some random channel and the room was a mess. His laptop was face down on the floor and there were a bunch of snack wrappers surrounding him. He lifted his head up and rubbed his eyes as he stood up. His eyes were basically half opened as he examined the mess that he didn't remember creating the night before. He checked the time on his phone and he saw that he had about an hour before he had to go to the convenience store for his shift.

The man forced himself to get up and he cleaned up the mess before getting ready for work. After showering, he put on a white dress shirt with a pair of khaki straight pants. He decided that he didn't have enough time to make himself breakfast so he just left without eating.

When he arrived at the store, he decided to get a granola bar off of the shelves and pay for it with his own money. He wouldn't tell his boss, of course, because they weren't allowed to take from the shelves during work hours. He walked to the cash register and slouched over its counter while eating. He was annoyed that he had to work so early considering that business was almost always slow in the morning. At the same time though, it was his own fault for staying up late playing online computer games.

After about an hour, he saw a woman walk into the store with a scarf around her neck. He wondered why she was wearing something so unnecessary for that day's weather. He didn't think much of it and just dismissed her as another paranoid weirdo.

Lee Mi Na
(Italics means she and Cheonsa are speaking.)

Mi Na wasn't in the best mood this morning. Cheonsa kept her up all night, angry about something that happened the other day. It wasn't her fault some guy was being rude to her. It wasn't her fault Cheonsa tried to kill him. Mi got into the shower, changing into black sweat pants, a white crop top and a red shawl.

"Jung Woo, I'm going to the store, you want anything?" Getting no response, she just shrugged and headed out. The convenience store was just down the street so it didn't take long for her to get there. Her red hair was tied into a bun and she probably looked like a hot mess but she didn't care, it was just the store. Mi looked through the aisles for something to eat, just grabbing some ramen, a sweet tea and some chips for when Jung Woo showed up.

"Cheonsa don't you fucking dare, do you want to become a science experiment again?" She could sense him moving towards the man working at the register. "Fine." The tiny voice huffed and Mi Na relaxed, slowly walking to the register. She noticed how the boy looked around her age, and his hair was a pretty pastel and how he looked pissed at the world currently.

"Hello," Mi Na flashed him a sunny smile and then put her stuff down, pulling out her wallet to pay.

Jung Woo

Before Mi Na had gotten up, Jung Woo had went for a walk in the park. He always liked the cool morning breeze and the smell of coffee wafing from those heading to work. He had to be at work soon though and headed towards his job, stuffing his hands in his pocket. Jung Woo liked work, he got away from his problems and got to hang out with his friends.

Jung Woo made it there five minutes before his shift started and quickly changed and then headed out to serve the people. Jung didn't sleep well last night with his roommates spirit knocking everything over and causing hell for the girl. He felt bad for her, but she hated if he pitied her so he tried not to show it.

"Good morning." He beamed at his customers, getting there orders and then heading into the kitchen to ge thte drinks and tell the chef what the couple wanted.

Maybe it was the whispers of the leaves across the land or the birds trilling a solemn tune, but Sol Yi awoke almost startled, with a slight sweat across her forehead and a confused look on her face as she opened her eyes. Whatever it was, It told her that she needed to wake up and open her store to the public. At the moment, Sol Yi didn't want to open as early, specifically because she need to buy a few essentials first. So instead of opening "Willow & Way", she instead went to a convenience store, dressed rather simply. In a large gray box dress, a tribal shawl, a leather jacket and plaid ankle socks, she looked pretty, but it looked odd with the clashing prints. she grabbed a bottle of rum and a few canned teas, before walking to the line and leaning to her right side. The day before had been quite...tiring. Along with a child who broke a few bottles and an old woman who picked up her daily shaman supplies and having a fit over the prices, it seemed that bottle of rum was more for pleasure rather than her practices. Before she could stand up straight, she accidently dropped the bottle of rum, the bottle cracking and reacting with a loud gasp.

While walking through the isle, Carmen heard the loud sound of glass crashing on the floor. She quickly went to where she believed the sound came from and she saw shards of glass and alcohol on the floor. She immediately noticed the cashier walk over to clean it up and she almost shooed him away knowing that he wouldn't be able to handle getting cut by the glass.

She knelt down on the floor and started picking up the glass shards with her bare hands, being careful not to cut herself. Although, when she did, she wouldn't care that much, knowing that she'd be able to fix it soon. After cleaning up the mess, she quickly threw away the glass and turned to the woman who she assumed had dropped the glass. She didn't expect to get any thanks from the woman or the cashier, though if she did, she would have immediately dismissed it.

"Next time, use a basket," she said plainly before picking up her things and standing in line.

In-su continued to sulk at the counter until he saw a woman with scarlet hair approach him. He quickly sat up and straightened his posture. It's been a while since he found someone that he was attracted to that wasn't on the internet.

"H-hi," he stammered before swiping her items on the scanner. He tried to focus on his job and not stare at her too much. When he finished swiping the items he told her the price of what he scanned. The man ruffled his hair while he waited for the woman to pay.

Not long after, he heard a loud crashing sound and he went to investigate when he saw a woman cleaning up the glass. He was quickly shooed away and he let the woman continue doing what she was doing.

Chae Yeon

Chae-Yeon groaned and rolled over as the alarm on his phone went off. He had stayed up late last night reading and was now regretting it. He sighed as he hit snooze on his phone for the fifth time since his alarm went off and rolled over covering his head with his pillow muttering "five more minutes". Five more minutes had passed, as well as an extra twenty-five before Chae-Yeon was officially out of bed with half opened eyes.

He crossed the hallway of his medium sized apartment and entered the bathroom, flinching as he turned on the light. Something told him that he wasn't going to be ready for the day as he washed his face to further get rid of any lingering sleepiness that walking on cold tile hadn't done for him.

He finished the rest of his morning preparations and soon sighed as he walked back into his room, throwing the on the clothes he intended to wear. It was a simple outfit, black skinny jeans, a long grey short sleeved shirt, and a total unecessary black sweater. He then grabbed his phone and glasses off his nightstand and shoved his glasses on, putting his phone in his back pocket.

Soon enough after eating a light breakfast that consisted of a granola bar and some juice, he was out of the house and was on his way to his part time job. Honestly, he was covering a shift for someone and didn't actually have to work until later, though he enjoyed being there nonetheless. As he walked he began playing with one of his earrings until he found himself standing in front of the rather large library. He noticed that he was about half an hour earlier as he walked in and looked towards one of the clocks. Chae-Yeon sighed and looked around for a few moments before picking a book off one of their shelves, intending to read for a bit.

nicole woke up to the sounds of the birds in the early morning. nicole normally woke up around seven am, but today her body woke her up an hour earlier than usual. she decided to make herself some breakfast, until she realized her fridge and pantry was completely empty. you seriously need to let me know when we're out of stuff... she thought to herself. she changed from her penguin pajamas and into a skirt and a long sleeve shirt with a pair of short chunky heels. she quickly grabbed her small purse and keys and started to walk towards her shift at the library. she walked passed a young man reading and started to shelve several books. then the top shelf came, her worst enemy. she normally had a stepping stool with her but today it seemed to have disappeared. she kept jumping up and down trying to get the book into its proper spot.

Mi Young didn't particularly love mornings. No matter how much she slept, she always felt tired. But she also didn't hate mornings. She loved the peace and quiet. It calmed her hyper personality. But these days, she couldn't find joy in mornings. She woke up hoping she impressed her hopefully soon-to-be boss. This was her best chance of getting a job, and if she didn't get it, she would have to give up her crappy apartment and go live with her unappreciative parents.

She stretched despite her body complaining from the lack of exercise, and headed to the bathroom. She saw ants walking around in the corner. She paid no attention to them since she was used to them. And rats. And spiders. She really needed a better place to live in, but she didn't have the money. She previously worked as a cashier, and she was getting a salary for being a trainee in a company. It wasn't enough.

After showering, she got dressed, grabbed her laptop that can barely process anything, wore her sunglasses, and left to the nearest place where she can get food. She would go to work, but she was given an assignment to do outside of the office. She hated that they treated her as if she knew nothing, like she didn't almost hack into their website, like she didn't know like five programming languages. She sighed as she turned on her laptop and called one of the waiters with the name tag "Jung Woo". "Hey, you! I need my morning coffee!" she exclaimed, not caring about what others thought of her. She was ... extremely vocal when she wanted to be.

When Minjun wasn't feeling like going to the college campus early, he went to the library. College can get crowded and noisy. If he hated himself, he'd go there. Right now, he just wanted to study in peace. If he wanted to ace his test that's coming in a week, he needed this library visit. He got dressed in his button-up white shirt and jeans, then left with his books and printed slides. He wasn't much for jeans, but he didn't care about his appearance at the moment. He cared about his test.

He recited what he could remember in his head as he walked to the library, occasionally looking at the print-outs to realize how stupid his memory could be. Upon reaching the library, he expected it to be empty, but he shouldn't have. Why was he surprised that his friend, Chae-Yeon was there? Probably because he was too out of touch with the world when he studied.

He kind of didn't want to scare Chae-Yeon, but he also wanted to. He wasn't naturally mischievous, but sometimes, with the people he was familiar with, a different personality emerges. He sneaked behind the boy, and put a hand on his shoulder abruptly and said, "What are you reading?" he asked, then stood in front of him. "Sorry. Where are my manners? I meant hello." He put a small smile, but it didn't linger. He was back to putting on a serious face soon. This was how he always was in public.

Sol Yi stood there embarrassed and almost shocked from her lack of caution and care. One of the employees came to clean the mess and Sol Yi immediately took out her wallet and when she took out the money, another person appeared. She carefully picked up the shards of glass and left swiftly. Sol Yi said thank you to the woman who cleaned up the mess of glass. Sol Yi took her advice and grabbed a basket, then fading into the distance to grab another bottle of rum. Sol Yi was embarrassed from the incident that happened immediately thought she was stupid for doing so. Being so grown and not even wary? Why was she so careless? "Damn it." She whispered quietly. Sol Yi grabbed a few other things besides the rum and incense, along with some food and a pack of beer. "The week had already been rough, so why not dumb it down with some beer?" she thought as she grabbed the box, placing it in her basket. Sol Yi then stood back in the line, behind the woman who had helped her, still rather thankful.

Chae Yeon

Unknowingly while he was reading Chae-Yeon had gotten re-addicted to the book. Of course it was fantasy and was written by none other than Rick Riordan. It was quite funny really, he had started reading works by Rick Riordan in order to learn more English. It was a trip down old memory lane when he found words and sentences that he used to really struggle with, now it was almost easy.

He had been getting ready to check the time again when he felt a hand suddenly come down on his shoulder. He jumped from fear in his chair and he would've screamed had he not remembered that he was in a library at the last moment. He put a hand over his chest and visibly relaxed as his friend Minjun stood in front of him. "Jeez, you're really going to give me a heart attack one of these days." He said with a small smile on his face after his friend said hello.

He took in the appearance of Minjun and could almost immediately tell that he came here for some studying. "Wow, you really look like a college student now." He said with a small laugh as he looked at some of the papers. He had been getting ready to ask what his friend was studying for when out the corner of his eye his saw his a co-worker, Nicole struggling to shelve some books.

He then looked back towards Minjun and smiled. "Will you do me a favor since you so nicely scared me this early in the morning?" He asked, closing his book and standing up. "May you help her shelve those books?" He asked pointing a finger in the direction of Nicole.

Rylan Jay Winters

Rylan woke up to a cup of water splashed in his face. Looking over to his roommate in surprise. "Told you to wake up an hour ago. I'm going to be late to class now, cause I had to stay behind for your lazy ass." His roomie swore at him, anger in his features. "Alright, I'm up!" Rylan yelled to his friend's anger. He quickly got changed into a new pair of jeans and a black work shirt with his name and shop name in the corner, grabbed his bag, then headed towards his the door. He never really knew why his roommate had waited for him, but he also really did not care right now. Seeing as his hair was still wet and he would have to clean his sheets when he got home. He watched his friend leave with a few other college students, waving as they left.

Rylan didn't have to be into his shop until later that day and figured he would catch up with his research for his online course. He made his way towards the library, calming down a little after his peaceful walk. Rylan entered the library and much to his delight not many people were there. He noticed two boys talking, but other than that quite empty. Good for his research that had to be done. He started to scan the isles, noticing a woman jumping to put a book up. He quickly walked over and gently took the book from her hand, putting it in the needed place. "Here you go, miss." He gave the woman an awkward smile as he spoke, then he turned to look at the books in her cart. "would you like some help?" he offered, not wanting to seem awkward or rude. He pushed his glasses in place as he looked at her.

Jaspar Hobbs

Jaspar hated early mornings. An early morning to Jaspar was any time before 11am and he happened to wake up at 9am due to construction work near his apartment. He groaned and got up from his mattress on the ground before heading to shower and change into his usual punk attire. To cover his floppy golden puppy ears, he decided on a black woollen beanie. After forcing on his tight tie up shoes, he grabbed his guitar and backpack before leaving for the day. He had a day off from work today which would mean he'd spend the most of it busking before going around buying a few things he needed. Rent for his small apartment had been prepaid off for a few more months; only then would he have to actually put money back. Until then he had free reign over how he spent his wages.

After running down a few flights of stairs, he left the apartment building and began the journey to his designated busking spot. It was near the college and library, lots of stores and restaurants were scattered in a 100 meter radius and lots of punk rockers liked to chill by these old statues. He liked it there; he could express himself through music and no one could judge him. If the public knew what he really was he'd be an outcast and he'd never be allowed to play in public again. He couldn't let that happen.

Jaspar threw his bag down and opened it, getting out a cap for money to be put into. He tightened the guitar strap around him and tuned the instrument. He was a good player and a better singer. He knew that music was what he wanted to do, that music was his dream, but it couldn't pay the bills and he would never get signed. That was a fact that he couldn't get signed. He didn't fit their cookie cutter image of what a star was. It was sad but he couldn't let it effect him. He was a musician and no one could take that from him. He began to play a happy song. Happiness was important and he tried his best to hang on to it. It's not like he had much else in this small sad world.

In-su awkwardly walked back to the cash register, attempting to process what had just happened. He thought it was a bit rude of him to not insist on helping and to leave her be. But that concern only lasted for a short while as he got back to working.

"Sorry...about that," he said nervously. He wasn't exactly sure why he was apologizing, seeing as he wasn't the one who had caused the scene in the first place. He didn't blame the woman for it though, mistakes happen. After ringing the woman's items he collected them and put them into a plastic bag. He put the same plastic bag on the counter in front of her and told her the price of the items.

"Will that be all ma'am?" he asked. He had hoped that the woman would say no. Considering the line behind her and his lack of motivation for the job. He wanted to be done with already but oddly at the same time he hoped that something interesting would happen to brighten his dull days.

when nicole's book was stolen out of her hand, she became confused. "here you go, miss." a deep voice said. nicole started to panic. she quickly turned around and her cheeks turned into a light red shade."o-oh. thank you." she said quietly. she reached for her second book she noticed her co-worker, chae yeon talking to a friend of his. she didn't want to bother him since his friend didn't look to nice. she smiled slightly when she saw them and went back to shelving her books, and struggled once again with the top shelf. her heels were useless as well, she only grew an inch or two with them. once she finally got her finally book on to the top shelf, she quickly approached chae yeon. "I need to run by the convenience store really quick. cover for me for a bit. okay?" she quickly left the library and went inside the convenience store to buy some necessities,

Mi Young didn't enjoy being around people in general, but this guy was interesting. She raised an eyebrow and shook her head. Really, he didn't have to act this way. It wasn't like she was going to eat him or anything. She never ate in the morning, anyway. "Umm, you, Jung Woo," she said in the same tone of voice. "You're all over the place. Geez."

She could tell she was creating some kind of vibe in the restaurant, and that was what was causing the man to behave like this. Even when she went through this scene a few seconds back, she can clearly see his nervousness around her. She had that affect on people in public places. Since the other customers were already served, she motioned for the guy to come over with the motion of a finger.

She had her desktop opened now, so she pointed at the Wi-Fi network that belonged to the restuarant. "I'll be nice this time. I'll try, anyway." Her voice was quieter. Poor man was not used to people like her. "Sir," she said, "may I have the password?"

One thing Minjun usually didn't do was work hands-on. But saying that, he didn't mind it. It's not that he didn't particularly like working these kinds of tasks, but with his lifestyle, there was never a reason to do them. He sighed. "Okay, fi-" He was too late. When he looked at the girl by the shelves, there was already a man helping her out. Oh, whatever.

"There goes my chance," he said, shrugging. Plus, she seemed to be walking to the door now. "Oh, now I can't prove to you that I'm a good man," he said in a mocking voice. Then he went back to being serious, as he usually was. "Good thing I'm not." He crossed his arms. "Anyway, I asked you what you were reading. You never answer me, you fool. What attitude you have." He looked at the book.

He wasn't interested in such fantasy books, but his younger, adopted sister read them a lot. She was about Chae Yeon's age. He guessed that was one reason he was friends with Chae Yeon. He saw a sweet, young person who held interest for these types of fantasies. Also because he genuinely cared about Chae Yeon, but was he ever going to admit that? Heck, no!

Chae Yeon

Chae-Yeon playfully rolled his eyes and swatted at Minjun's arm playfully as he spoke about being a gentleman or not. "You're lucky I can't get mad at you." He said with a smile on his face as he folded his arms over his chest. "Hey, you might not be able to help her but you can help me right? I don't want to have to grab a stool later when the great and tall Minjun is here." He said as he opened his arms, emphasizing on Minjun's height. He had also purposefully let his accent leak through when he said "hey" because frankly, it was just fun to do.

"Ouch." He said putting a hand over his heart as he was called a fool. "My poor heart." He said dramatically contorting his face to make it look like it was in pain before laughing, careful not to be too loud. "In my defense though, I don't think you'd be interested in the book anyways." He said as if he remembered correctly, Minjun wasn't the biggest fan of fantasy books. "It's normal for me to like fantasy books though, I'm still a children... Child... Children." Chae-Yeon showed a hint of confusement on his face for a moment before waving his hand in dismissal, muttering a "you get what I mean". He then pulled his phone out of his pocket and checked the time, shocked at how early he had come today.

"How long do you plan on staying today?" He asked, looking up towards Minjun. "Just know that if you stay here long enough, I'm taking you out to eat. I'm treating this time." Chae-Yeon said, and although it sounded like a suggestion anyone could tell that he wasn't going to take no for an answer.

Carmen sighed, as the line wasn't long, nor was there ever really a line, and yet, she still wasn't at the counter paying for her things. She came to the store in order to buy a few things and leave. She had assumed that business would be slow early in the morning, but unfortunately, she was wrong. With everything going on she was starting to get frustrated with the whole situation.

Not wanting to stay any longer, she ignored the current issue that was going on with the red haired woman and put what she had assumed to be the price of the items. Normally, it would have been rude to just walk past, but she didn't care. She wasn't there for a charity case and she had a store of her own to open. Time doesn't wait for anyone, and she needed to make a living. "I don't have time for this," she thought to herself. She took a bag from over the counter and put her items inside.

She pulled the scarf down so that her chin would go over it, taking a moment to breath a bit. The humidity of the scarf was getting to her. "I assume that this is enough for the items. Keep the change if there is any," she said before walking out of the store, her heels making a clip clop sound on her way out.

When she was out of the store she took a moment to take in a large breath of air, feeling the light breeze that came in. She walked down the sidewalk for quite some time before arriving at her flower shop. She opened the door and walked in, turning over the wood closed sign so that it changed to "open". Walking over to the counter she put her groceries on the floor in the corner of the room, not wanting to walk all the way home to put them away.

In-su groaned when he heard yet another gasp. Although he was a bit shocked to see that it was the red haired woman. He sighed, feeling annoyed that he had to clean up yet another mess but conflicted because it was her. For some reason he was taken aback when the woman pointed at him to get a mop. He would have had to clean it up anyway or else his boss would have been pissed.

He speed walked over to the janitor's closet to find a mop and a bucket. He refilled it with a new bucket of water and dragged it out on its wheels. "You might want to move out of the way," he said, putting his palm on the top of the mop's handle as if he was trying to balance it. He moved his hands to hold a grip on the wooden handle and began mopping the spill. "I guess she's clumsy," he thought to himself as he was thrusting the mop back and forth.

When he figured that the mess was cleaned, he put the mop in the bucket and dragged it back to the janitor's closet before taking the wet floor sign and bringing it over to where the soda's once were. He picked up the soda bottles and emptied out what was left in the sink before throwing it out. He came back out to walk behind the counter. "Um, you don't have to worry about this too much. I'll just tell my boss it was me," he said trying to reassure the woman.
