Moss' characters:

Savel Hanessett, 26, is a willowy woman of unusual beauty. She has a moon pale face that is unlined, unpainted, and unsmiling, the left side of which is splashed across with a wine stain birthmark. Gloomy shadows pool beneath her narrow, watchful eyes. She keeps her hair, black and steel straight, tucked behind her ears, and sometimes draped over one shoulder. There isn't a disobedient strand in sight. She prefers the subtle and tailored short robes of her trade to the fashionable bodice-and-train gowns of the well-to-do, and pairs them with the thin apprentice's band she wears around her forehead. There is a regal frostiness about her bearing, a confidence that borders on arrogance. Her movements are deliberate, precise, and efficient, what some might describe as serpentine.

Magic: Unbeknownst to her, Savel is born to the royal Eventide bloodline, current rulers of the Faerie Court of Winter. As such, she is a storm summoner. Her particular specialty is throwing lightning, which is the trademark of the Eventide line. Her seasonal affinity, however, is autumn, which gives her the ability to put living creatures into a deathlike sleep (which only folk of the Spring Court can reverse). She can glamour reality (which has no effect on fae) and become invisible in shadows. Savel has no wings, fins, or horns (the distinguishing features of folk), which would have given her the ability to fly, breathe under water, or gain supersensory hearing, respectively.

Weaknesses (magical): Storm summoning is a volatile magic. Without proper training, storms can quickly spiral out of control and leave massive swaths of destruction in their wake. It costs little to call the storm, but to hold it requires intense concentration and strength. Similarly, lightning is easy to hail, but exhausting (and often painful) to command. Savel's seasonal ability can only be used during autumn, and requires bare contact. As a member of the Autumn Court, she is also highly vulnerable to the sound of the snow goose, which will weaken all of her magical abilities. As with all folk, her true name can be used to compel her to reveal a truth.

Weaknesses (general): Proud and stubborn, Savel would rather struggle than ask for help (or do so only begrudgingly). She is forthright to a fault, never having mastered the art of discretion. Though it would behoove her to show deference to her social superiors (and patrons), she has difficulty bowing to those she doesn't respect. She is terrified of fae and doesn't know how to swim.

Background: When she was three, Savel's blood kin abandoned her at the edge of the forest in sight of the human kingdom of Gillore. Were it not for the luthier who found her while returning from gathering wood, she may not have survived the night. From then on, she has lived with the luthier, raised as his adopted (human) daughter and, at thirteen, taken on as his apprentice. Savel has since developed a keen interest in the craft and a passionate love of music. At twenty-six, she has garnered her own reputation as an artisan craftsperson, though continues to devotedly assist Gaveris, her father and instructor. She has not yet discovered her magic.

Haunts' Characters

Name: Faron Hale

Age: 28

Appearance: Standing at just shy of six feet tall, Faron is best described as skinny, but fit. With skin a sunned tawny brown, his face is peppered with dark freckles. One of his most noticeable qualities is his coarse brown hair, reaching just below his shoulders, almost always simply pulled back or tied in a basic fashion. His face has sharp features and dark eyes, with a bit of scruffy facial hair, and a nose that has been previously broken. He has a good few small scars and marks scattered about his body, most notably around his hands, arms, and a small tear in the top of his left ear. He favors simple, loose clothing, and his overall appearance is often unkempt. When he appears in public, he is more careful to brush his hair or braid it.

Magic/Weaknesses: Born a shapeshifter, Faron has the ability to change into a sparrow hawk, and can do it fairly discreetly. Later in life, he gained the ability to change into a brown coyote, but this transition is less simple for him. His powers can be detected fairly easily with the help of certain charms, and subdued with emerald stones or other magic meant to prevent the use of disguise. Changing shape requires a good amount of energy and becomes difficult if he is injured.

Weaknesses(General): With no formal education, Faron often struggles with strategy and critical thinking. Paired with a short-tempered personality, this has often led to unneeded escalation. He is quick to make judgement on others and rather shallow-minded. While he has the advantage of being physically fit, Faron lacks in much real skill in fighting.

Background: Faron has spent most of his life as part of a group that focuses on helping magical creatures, doing mainly scout work and running a small safehouse on the outskirts of Gillore. He has garnered the reputation as being harsh and unsympathetic, and outwardly aggressive towards non-magic people. His visits to the towns, though infrequent, have sometimes led to confrontation due to his tendencies of stealing and starting mischief. Having spent more of his life in nature, he is well adapted to many different kinds of landscapes and aspects of survival.
