And... We're doomed. Fun times.
Hi everyone! I've constructed a light layout that I'd like everyone to follow, but feel free to add any of your own information that you believe is relevant!

One minor thing though, if you're going to use BBCODE could you please post up a spoiler containing the information below? A lot of people are on mobile and even mobile friendly BBCODE can sometimes be a hassle to navigate. Thanks!

Name:
Age:
Occupation: (role)
Alliance: (if this is made obvious by their occupation then it's not needed)
Blood status:

Appearance:

We do allow artistic face claims but no anime ones please! If you're struggling to find one that fits your character, feel free to ask for some help or you could do a written description instead.

Backstory:
Relationship with family: (this doesn't have to be long)
Personality:

Best skill:
Any special abilities: (and how they got them. It's not enough to say 'they were mentored by x' as we need a brief explanation of why they would mentor them. For example, you could have a character that was a student under the death eaters. Realising they had a talent for dark magic, when they left school they sought out a mentor to keep teaching them. The death eaters, not believing their luck, happily took the young adult aboard, even if he wasn't exposed to all their plans.)

If I think of anymore I'll add them on and notify you all, in the meantime, have fun!

Marcus White (WIP)Age: 24
Occupation: Ministry Lawyer
Alliance: Neutral, leaning towards the order. He previously served under the death eaters, but he was never a member.
Blood status: Half blood
Wand: Elm and phoenix feather, 9"

Appearance:

Height: 5'11
Eye colour: Blue
Hair colour: Dark brown, often straight and reaching shoulder length.

Backstory: (I'll probably edit this later, but it'll do for now)
Marcus was a strange kid growing up, always finding himself out on his own due to his tendancy to stitch other children up to the teachers for breaking the rules. As a result he quickly came to be content with his own company, often finding solace in books. Rather than escaping to fantastical worlds like most children, he much preferred to read factual books, often about history.

With his new younger brother being so boisterous, he was glad when he was sent to Hogwarts and was sorted to Ravenclaw in under a minute, so sure was the hat of its decision. Learning from the mistakes of his primary education, he no longer grassed people up to the teachers unless they did something that he considered truly reprehensible. After reporting two of his classmates for sneaking out of the dormitory to make out behind their partners backs, he was again ostracized, as many people thought he should've just kept his nose out.

Despite this (or perhaps because of it) Marcus was an excellent student; polite, rule abiding and punctual. In this entire time at Hogwarts he was never personally given a detention, although Snape did insist that the entire class stay back to write up theory on one particularly lovely May weekend. His brother though... well that was a different story. Like his older brother he was clearly talented but he was far less disciplined, leading to more than a few fires and explosions. Marcus tried to distance himself from his younger brother as much as possible, even going as far to use his prefect powers against him, but to no avail.

It was due of this inability to control his younger brother that he was passed up for the position of Head boy, something which angered him so much he refused to speak to his brother for the following year, even going as far as to move out with his grandparents over the summer. His high grades were thankfully enough to secure him a place in a ministry training program regardless but he was still furious, as he felt like his brother had stolen it from him.

Moving out with several other trainees, he found the training to be hard but enjoyable, especially as it kept his mind off his family. He had just graduated when Dumbledore was announced dead and the death eaters in the ministry made an offer to the newly appointed lawyers: they could work under the death eaters and their families would be spared as a reward, or they would die. Faced with the two options, he bought his family their freedom, something which his brother hated. As a die hard gryffindor he despised the Slytherins and the death eaters so to have his own brother working for them disgusted him, but Marcus pointed out that he had no other choice.

Keeping his head down for the year, the death eaters were pleased at his efficiency and skill but were getting more and more irritated by his brother, who had been forced back into school. Begging them for some leniency, they allowed him to go and speak to him. He had been locked in a cell in Hogwarts for plotting with several other gryffindors to assassinate Snape, but after talking with Marcus he agreed to let up a bit as he realised it was putting his whole family in danger. Giving him one final warning, they let Jacob back out where he stayed until the final battle, which he participated in. Marcus was not there however, as he was keeping an eye on their family to ensure they weren't arrested by the death eaters still stationed in the cities.

Although he faced an inquiry from the new ministry into his activities during the death eater occupation, he was cleared of all charges. He still felt guilty about his compliance but he recognised that to do anything else would've been foolish and reckless, although that doesn't often help him sleep at night.

Relationship with family: He gets along well with his parents despite the continuing war, as they're always concerned about the death eaters hunting them down. Jacob and him still don't speak as there's too much bad blood between them.

Personality:
Marcus has always been very aloof and quiet, although he is certainly more than willing to have a six hour debate about the justice system should anyone have the patience. He is not quick to accept praise and would often rather place the achievements onto other people, even if their help was rather insignificant. Although he used to be really moralistic, he's now more pragmatic and will try to seek a compromise even if he finds it distasteful. As such, he very rarely gets angry, but he doesn't really show much if his emotions regardless of what they are, instead presenting a calm and collected exterior.

Best skill:
Aside from the fact he can talk himself out of a lot of very uncomfortable situations, he was always most skilled at charms.

  • Francesca Rosaline Coulter
    1585490148377.png1585489950330.png1585490246238.png
    Name: Francesca Rosaline Coulter
    Nickname: Frankie, Rose, Lee
    Age: 20

    Occupation: St Mungos Healer, Mediwitch.
    Alliance: Ministry

    Blood status: Half Blood
Wand: Hawthorn with a unicorn hair core, 9" inch and surprisingly swishy.
Patronus: Fruit Bat (she tormented her younger brother with claims that it was a vampire bat and could suck his blood when they were younger.)
    Former House: Slytherin

Best Skill: Healing Charms/Spells - She never thought of becoming a Mediwitch before the war and had only ever done one or two healing charms in class but desperate times called for desperate measures and after the takeover of Hogwarts and the increasing cruelty of the Professors Francesca found herself having to heal the wounds inflicted on her friends by Professors like the Carrows, who were all too fond of cursing students till they were black and blue and calling it teaching. At first she hadn't done anything but it only got worse and no one else was stepping up, they could cast basic charms on each other but the Carrows and those like them were decades ahead of them - inflicting injuries beyond their abilities. And so she slaved away - taking books out of the library and hiding them under her bed to read at the night and over time she found that she had quite the talent for healing spells, which when combined with her love of potions meant she could help her friends and lessen their pain - it was a tricky road with many attempts blowing up in her face but she learned and she became quite adept at it.

Personality: Frankie is clever, resourceful and determined - she has a quick wit and a loyal nature when it concerns those she is loyal to. She is not above manipulating people for her own ends or for her friends ends. True to her sorting into Slytherin she can be deceptive, manipulative and cunning - bending and breaking rules and moral bounds at will to reach her own goals and escape certain problems. She also has a caring and empathetic nature, though able to be clinically detached from situations when needed, which helps her in her role as a Mediwitch. Although her personality has changed somewhat, she used to be one of the girls who trailed behind after Pansy Parkinson - desperate for the social status and attention that came with being in the social circles of the purebloods. She was close with Daphne Greengrass and several other girls in their year but for the most part they weren't good for each other. She was arrogant and vain, obsessing with how others perceived her and would hurt those around her in order to make herself look good. She'd not do what she wanted to do and often downplay her intelligence, it wasn't good to be seen as stupid in Slytherin but being a swot wasn't exactly approved of either. Because of this obsession sometimes she behaves in a way that means she doesn't do what she actually wants to, putting other people's desires ahead of her own. Now she's more sure and confident in herself, not afraid to show what she's passionate about and confident about making it clear when she knows about something.

She still has trouble with the more vindictive and manipulative parts of herself but she likes to think that she's matured beyond playground politics and finds herself much more able to control herself and her temper. But she struggles to deal with her emotions in a constructive manner and she often covers up her feelings with abrasive sarcasm or cruel words or by completely pushing those feelings down and compartmentalising. Putting away the dark thoughts, feelings and back memories into a box, locking it away and pushing it down into the darkest recesses of herself.

Background: Born in the Italian city of Turin to Alessandro Franciosi and Victoria Elster in 1980, Frankie was couples first and only daughter. Her parents moved to her Mother's family estate in the Yorkshire Dales when she was four - at first she'd hated it. She'd hated the weather, hated the isolation and hated not having anyone to talk to or interact with as before she'd had scores of cousins and relatives to talk to and play with - she had been a lonely child, her parents were both busy with work and so she had nothing to do bar wander the estate, learn from her tutors and occasionally go into a nearby muggle village and play with the children there although she found the children in that village boring and peculiar and she's sure that they felt the same about the strange girl who only appeared every so often and who's home wasn't on the maps.

Her brother, Matteo, finally arrived when she was eight and Frankie loved him from the moment he was born, she held him and would walk around the house with him in her arms so that he'd stop crying and sleep - her parents joked she was better with him than them. Her parents were often busy with work so an array of house elves and nannies tended to her and her brother, a magical tutor being brought in when she was old enough.

When she was eleven she got her letter to go to Hogwarts, her parents had considered sending her to Beaubaxtons so her cousins could look out for her but they thankfully sent her to Hogwarts. She'd expected to be sorted into Ravenclaw or into Hufflepuff but she was placed into Slytherin. Her time in the early years of Hogwarts were spent clawing her way up the totem pole of the social rankings of Slytherin - her Mother was a part of an old Italian pureblood family whilst her Father had muggle ancestry which meant that she wasn't one of the pureblooded elite of their House although she was friends with plenty of them. She grew up on a small estate in the Yorkshire Dales, spending many summers there braving the wind and exploring her surroundings.

During the Battle of Hogwarts Frankie tried to stay out of the fighting, though of course she ultimately had no choice but to fight otherwise she would have died. But she had friends fighting on both sides with some of her cousins siding with the Golden Trio and the Order of the Phoenix and other people, who she'd known since she was eleven and were her closest friends, fighting alongside the Death Eaters. Frankie was in Slytherin for a reason, she was loyal and embodied the Slytherin sense of fraternity - something other Houses tended to forget thanks to Gryffindor claiming that trait and she was determined. She was there during the battle, refusing to leave and technically aligned with the Order due to her families choices. And so she focused on getting to those who needed help and healing them although - to the displeasure of some - she healed people on both sides as she couldn't watch people that she'd known for years die or suffer.

After the Battle of Hogwarts she decided she didn't want to lose anyone else when she could prevent it and so she applied for a job at St Mungos and became a trainee mediwitch. When she was qualified she got a job liaising with the Ministry, she doesn't care what lines people decide to draw in the sand - she just wants the least amount of people to get hurt.

Relationship with their family: Frankie's relationship with her family is strained, they're disappointed that she "wasted her potential," on being a low level Mediwitch instead of going on to something bigger. Although now she works for both the Ministry and St Mungos it has lessened slightly. The War also still causes tension, her parents having been very firmly on the side of Order of the Phoenix and finding that their daughter was close friends with those on the other side and still sometimes defends them when their names are brought up. Franke was never a death eater, never agreed with their ideals but she tried to remain as neutral as possible and that combined with her refusal to leave Hogwarts during the Battle and willingness to heal her friends has caused a rift that neither side quite know how to mend. Whilst she wishes they understood what it was like for them during that year under Voldemort's rule at Hogwarts, the things they endured and had to do, they dismiss it as nothing and often forget that the war was hard for her too - even if she had been a child for most of it. They are civil though and they communicate frequently. She visits them every Sunday for a family dinner but it isn't rare for tempers to fray and arguments to break out. Both sides are trying hard to become close again, mend any broken bridges but they all know it'll take time. Frankie is still extremely close with her younger brother, who is a Gryffindor student at Hogwarts now - writing to him constantly and checking up on him as much as possible.

Relationship with family: I think we know this too...

Personality:
Harry is brave, loyal, selfless, compassionate, and strong willed. His traits made him the person who he was throughout his years of schooling at Hogwarts and after. Some other traits of his had also built his character, but they weren't the best. He is also arrogant, obsessive, and instinctive.

Best skill: His bravery is probably is best skill. While bravery is mainly considered just a trait, in Harry's case it could really be considered a skill. He uses it throughout his life to demonstrate how he can overcome the adversary in combat while keeping his cool (for the most part, haha).

Any special abilities: In Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Harry expresses the ability of Parseltongue. It comes from his previous connection to Lord Voldemort through his scar.

Name: Theodore Killian Nott

Age: the same age as Harry, Ron, Draco etc (which I'm guessing is early 20s?)

Occupation: Financer for the Death Eaters

Blood status: pureblood

Wand:
A handsome wand of Pine, 13 2/4 inches, Augurey feather core, hard. Before Theo attended Hogwarts his father gifted him with his grandfather's elm wand. This did not work well for Theodore and it wasn't long before he broke it. His father dragged him to Ollivander’s and demanded another elm, but Ollivander insisted it would be a waste. He instead took him to an old Irish wandmaker, known for his unusual sourcing and powerful wands, particularly when align with dark arts. He received his current wand there with a promise of its power to his father.

Appearance: He is tall, thin and has a mop of dirty/ash blonde hair. He has a narrow, quite angular face, soft skin with very fine freckles if you look closely. His eyes are blue-green that are the colour of a stormy grey sea. His Faceclaim is Baptiste Radufe

Backstory:
Theodore grew up with the Notts and knew Draco and other pureblood families as childhood friends. He lived on the Nott family estate on the rugged west coast of Ireland, a large house in a beautiful part of the country. He had a more than comfortable childhood as his family were rich, but it wasn’t perhaps as happy as some especially after his mother’s death. When he was 13, his mother had a terrible accident which left her paralysed (whatever the Wizarding equivalent of wheelchair bound is). No matter how much healers tried, they could not heal her, suggesting some kind of curse was involved. Theodore blamed his father for his mother's situation (he theorises that the curse was cast to spite a wrongdoing of his father). His disliking grew for his father as he grew older, and the two of them would frequently fight - verbally and physically. At school he sided immediately with Draco and his gang but was always considered aloof and had the ability to disappear into the background almost unnoticed which he used to his advantage. He was king of silent smirks and snobbish looks. He never officially joined the death eaters but worked closely with them in the background. He had never been particularly strong at combative magic so he found other ways of getting involved.

Relationship with family:
Theodore’s mother died when he was young and he misses her a lot. It’s a wound that still hasn’t healed properly. As mentioned, he and his father don’t exactly get along.

Personality:
At school, Theodore was considered one the smartest members of his group. His inclination for wisdom and academia lead people to associate him with traits typically seen in Ravenclaws, but his shrewd and cunning nature is impossible to miss. He is driven, and his ambition means he is hard working. He can be incredibly cunning in getting what he wants, and will not give up easily. His manipulative tendencies have worked well for him as a Financer for the Death Eaters - he deals in information after all.

Theodore has a sardonic sense of humour, which surprises some people given his serious expressions. He has a cool demeanour and is reserved; he usually only talks properly with those who he feels deserve his time. He sees himself as quite attractive, but pursuing women have never been the top of his priorities.

Theo works for the Death Eaters but is not strictly a member. He advises and gives them information for a sum. Though he has a definite air of superiority, there is someone different underneath which he won’t admit. Although it may not seem so, he has a moral compass and somewhat tortures himself over his actions in the past and still the present. He is quite good at reading people emotionally, but like so many boys from similar backgrounds he is less good at paying attention to his own emotional needs. Deep down he is kind and caring and surprisingly generous, but he doesn't exactly exhibit these freely so most people would laugh if you said that about him.

B8088C13-3C59-436E-9F4A-CA5D99952913.gif

Best skill:
• His greatest talent is creative magic - his very adept at creating new spells and magic to suit his needs and curiosity. This has always been a special interest of his and he is surprisingly good. At the moment the best example would be a prototype time-turner that he is working on
•non-magically speaking, he is excellent at procuring information and using it to his advantage

Special abilities:
•his patronus is a thestral and he feels a strange affinity with them- probably due to the fact he felt a connection with them to his mother as a boy. However, he is rarely able to cast it as sometimes he struggles to reach his happy memories

•he is learning the art of Legilimency by himself, but is by no means an expert at this stage. Although he is hard working and is a fast learner, he has no mentor and is very much learning it in secret so it may take time.

Lillian SlytherinAge: 25
Occupation: Co-leader of the death eaters with Dolohov and Yaxely
Alliance: Death eaters
Blood status: Half blood, although she believes she's pure
Wand: 10.5", Yew and Dragon Heartstring

Appearance:

12106250_772005796278244_1646930161_n.jpg

Height: 6'0
Eye colour: Reddish brown
Hair colour: naturally black, but sometimes she changes it to white (it's currently black)
Usual attire: Black suit pants and shirts combined with cloaks

Backstory:
Originally born to Tom Riddle and Bellatrix Lestrange, Lillian had just turned six when her father fell. Bella, deciding to go on what she knew was likely going to be a futile quest for the Dark Lord, gave her daughter to Yaxley, realising that her brother-in-laws career at the ministry made him unviable. He was extremely apprehensive about it at first but realised if the Dark Lord was ever to return, he would be less than pleased if his daughter had fallen into the hands of the order. Over time, he did grow to care for the girl, making him reluctant to turn her into a ruthless killing machine.

Choosing not to send her to public school, he contacted other death eaters to help educate her in secret. Although this led to her being extremely bright for her age, she wasn't offered much opportunity to socialize with many people in her own age group, leading her to be quite socially awkward. Something she always considered very strange was how her stepfather seemed so apprehensive of punishing her, and this resulted in her becoming very arrogant and often disregarding any limitations he put on her. As such, Yaxely sometimes wondered if he'd bitten off more than he could chew in trying to deal with her as on top of this she was extremely curious, seemingly about everything but especially about her parents. He told her as much as he could, but with her persistant questioning he realised just how little they all knew about the Dark Lord, not that his private life was really their concern of course.

Becoming a rather troublesome teen that the death eaters didn't dare discipline too harshly, she'd mostly grown out of it by the time she got a letter from her father, asking for her to come to a cemetery at a certain date with a vial of her blood. Doing so, she would've watched her father's return had she not been knocked unconscious and then tied to a marble sacrificial table by Wormtail to ensure she couldn't escape in case anymore was needed.

She spent six months around her father again before they broke her mother out of prison, something which was blamed on her second cousin Sirius. Horrified at what had happened to her, she spent a lot of time trying to get her back to the woman she vaguely remembered from her earliest memories. Although only partially successful, the two did end up being quite close, certainly close enough for Lillian to be bothered by her death when it occured less than two years later.

Only turning up in the last moments of the ministry battle, she helped her mother escape from the order, as her father was on the other side of the large hall. Even such a short stint was enough for her existence to be fully exposed as both Harry and Dumbledore both saw the resemblance between her and Tom and the unusual concern she held for Bellatrix. Severus had told Dumbledore of her existence before regardless, but it now became more widely known, especially as Harry told everyone who would listen (and a few people that wouldn't).

Lileath spent much of Harry's sixth and seventh year in hiding, which made things far easier for her when her parents died, not that the fallout was at all easy to deal with. Although they lost the battle at Hogwarts, she managed to steal her father's body back before they fled, locking him in a hidden tomb, but the question remained; what next?

With the ministry and order in chaos, many of them were able to slip through the cracks, going back underground. Unlike her father, she listen to the advice of her death eaters, especially as most of them were older than her (with a few notable exceptions, like Draco). Although she was the figurehead, with Voldemort dead Yaxley could resume his role as her mentor, with Dolohov stepping in to help her keep control, even if his motivations were far less benign. With her parents out the way, he wanted her for himself, so he made himself invaluable with his extensive experience and knowledge, particularly of her father during his young years. Yaxley became aware of this and so a conflict started between the two, as despite himself Yaxley saw Lillian as his to protect.

Personality:
Lillian is often... difficult to deal with for people unused to her, especially if the environment is informal. While she's a fine speaker, informal chit-chat often either just bores or irritates her as she never truly learned why some of her statements might upset or shock people. And if you want to have an emotional heart to heart... your best bet is to break out the wine. A lot of wine.

In day to day life however, the other death eaters often find her quite amusing and surprisingly laid back, although this is more to do with her arrogance than genuinely feeling at peace with herself. A tad bit narcissistic, Lillian has problems expressing her feelings for people and can often come across as rude or disrespectful without even meaning to. That's not to say she can't care however, she just often shoves it aside rather than deal with it.

Although she is like this with the death eaters (mostly because she met most of the ones that were free during her childhood) she is very different with the order. On the battlefield she is extremely quick, often playing games with her opponents and turning the fight into a confused mess. While Lillian might not yet be as brutal as her parents and as some of the other death eaters, she can sow discord and chaos like no other, making escape for the other death eaters far easier.

Best skill:
She can appaerate multiple times in quick succession, making her extremely difficult to pin down. Her imperious curses are very hard to break thanks to her skill in Legilimency, but she can't keep it on someone for longer than a few hours.

Name: Elisabeth Nelson

Age: 23-24 (depending on the month the roleplay starts) Birthday 10/23/1976

Occupation: Carer

Alliance: see above

Blood status: half-blood

elisabeth art.jpg(art is not mine, artists name is on the necklace in the picture)

Appearance: Elisabeth is 5’6” and has a relatively slender build. Outside of what’s pictured, she always wears a necklace that was her sister’s. It’s a snowflake with an aquamarine stone in the center on a silver chain. Additionally, she normally has her nails painted some bright and fun color.

Backstory: Elisabeth was raised in a two-parent household family that was middle class. She had a happy childhood and loved playing with neighbors and her older sister, Julie. When she went to Hogwarts, she was sorted into Hufflepuff and was always a high achiever, excelling in charms and potions. She had a fairly tight knit group of friends and wasn’t super popular. Despite that she enjoyed school greatly. When the war hit, she was an intern at St. Mungo’s. She was distressed heavily by all the wounded coming through from the death eater’s wrath and despised helping them. She distinctly remembered when a healer refused service for a wounded death eater and was killed on the spot in front of her eyes. She was next in line and helped the death eater out of fear. She still feels immense guilt knowing he went on to kill and torture people throughout the battle of Hogwarts. During the battle of Hogwarts her sister was killed, which broke Elisabeth. She quit her job, feeling responsible for so many of the deaths and that if she couldn’t protect her family that she was worthless. She struggled for a few months, but eventually pulled herself back up when she was reached out to by the order for her healing skills. She found a renewed purpose in helping and caring for the members. She’s an excellent cook and is adept at cleaning charms, so she found her place easily with that along with using what she had learned at St. Mungo’s to help with minor ailments and injuries.

Relationship with family: She has an excellent relationship with her parents and had an good relationship with her sister before her premature death.

Personality: Elisabeth is sweet and caring. She always has a smile on her face, even when she’s upset, thinking she can trick herself into being happy. She does have some with anxiety and worrying about loved ones, especially with the resurgence of the death eaters. She has a good sense of humor and will laugh at even the corniest of puns. She’s intelligent and she knows it, but she tries to be modest. Her worst personality trait is probably her anxiety and guilt, which flares up somewhat frequently. She also has somewhat frequent nightmares.

Best skill: Cooking - she loves to be in the kitchen trying new recipes. Elisabeth thinks her affinity for cooking might be part of the reason she was so good at potions.

Any special abilities: She is very good with potions and healing. She focused on it heavily during her final years at Hogwarts and passed the NEWTs with strong scores in potions, charms, and herbology. With that, combined with her training at St. Mungo’s, she became quite skilled at healing.
