  Jae-Sung's life goal is to live it to the fullest. He is spontaneous and always ready to try new things. Leaping before looking, Jae-Sung often makes quick decisions based on the here and now. He isn't a fan of plans or forward thinking. Whatever he feels like doing in the moment is what he will do. He is very easy-going and gets along well with just about about everyone. The life of the party, he is not afraid of the spot light nor is he a stranger to it. He connects easily with others and loves to meet new people. Commitment isn't something he has been known for. In fact he's never worked for the same place for longer than two years and the longest relationship he's had only had lasted a few months. He usually isn't one for labels in the first place, but normally the first signs of confrontation are an open door for Jae-Sung to slip right out of.   backstory

  Seo Jae-Sung was born to high school sweethearts Woo-Sung and Iseul. They were just 19 and 21. Though he was very much so unexpected, they happily accepted the start to their little family. The two were married four months after he was born and settled down in a small apartment. Growing up, Jae-Sung experienced a very warm and loving household. He wasn't on his own for long, just three years after his birth, his younger sister Jin-ah was born. As the two grew up, they got increasingly closer and even if sometimes they fought (just like all siblings do) they were close.
  
  During school Jae-Sung was not regarded as a very good student. He never put a huge importance on education. He got good enough grades to skate by in the middle of the class and be able to play basket ball, but that was about it. Jae-Sung was pretty popular despite this. He was known as the class clown and his loud bright personality seemed to draw others to him. In high school he got into fashion due to his girlfriend at the time. She was absolutely obsessed with everything fashion, even having him take pictures of her for her Instagram. And naturally, Jae-Sung wanted to like what his girlfriend liked. However, even after they broke up at the end of 3rd year, he continued to enjoy photography and fashion.
  
  Despite everyone else's expectations, Jae-Sung decided to go to college for journalism with a minor in photography. Now college was a fun experience for him. Jae-Sung had made a new group of friends who liked to go out just as much as him. He spent the majority of his first two years in college partying rather than studying. Every weekend was a new adventure. Meet new friends. Try a new drink. Hook up with someone new. He had a few girlfriends during that time, but none of those relationships lasted very long. One ended when she cheated, another because she got too busy with school, and another still because she just loved to pick fights. One bad ending after the other no matter how hard he tried.
  
  That was when he met Ahn Ye-Ji at Jin-ah's 20th birthday party. His sister's friend was a) hot and b) super easy to get along with. The two had instant chemistry that was hard to deny. So they exchanged numbers and kept in contact. Honestly? Jae-Sung was crazy about Ye-Ji. His friends commented about how they had never seen him so hung up on one girl. He wanted this relationship to work out, he really did. But then he got hit with some hard news. Jin-ah was pregnant, which would be all fine and dandy if her boyfriend hadn't up and vanished.
  
  Things became extremely complicated. His sister dropped out of school, he picked up two part time jobs to help her, and his senior year of his bachelor's program took up the rest of his time. He knew that if he started dating Ye-Ji that things, once again, would end very badly for them. Jae-Sung didn't have the time, the energy, or the heart to devote to her. He was never one to go half-way in a relationship despite his reputation for sleeping around. When he was committed, he was loyal and he couldn't promise that to Ye-Ji at that time in his life. So Jae-Sung decided to end things before they really started with her.
  
  Ye-Ji understood when he confessed how thin he was worn over drinks, she even told him she felt the same way. Drinks, though, proved to be a bit of a catalyst. After a night of too much alcohol, they ended up sleeping together. Waking up, tangled up in the sheets with her, initially brought on a torrent of emotions. Jae-Sung felt bad, he felt like he had used her, but at the same time he wanted to see her again. Apparently Ye-Ji wanted to see him again too, and she didn't have any problem asking if he wanted keeping hooking up even if they agreed neither of them could date at the time. Jae-Sung had no problem agreeing, because he wanted the same thing, its just he didn't want to seem like an ass for asking.
  
  Then started their friendship with a little something extra. Everything was great. His nephew was born and Jin-ah was doing alright. He graduated college and started his own freelance photography business. All the while, whenever Jae-Sung was lonely or had a stressful day or just wanted sex, he'd call Ye-Ji up and she'd do the same. It was convenient, easy, and always a great time. Then things started to calm down in his life after a few months. Jae-Sung started going out again every so often, and Ye-Ji, being his friend (despite the frequency of their late night meet ups), was one of the people he'd invite to hang out with. He came to regret that. Once their relationship started shifting from just sex to hanging out and doing things together, she apparently started getting a different image in her head than he did.
  
  When Ye-Ji asked when he was going to ask her out on a real date, Jae-Sung knew he messed up. At one point he had been ready to commit to her, but now? His life was just starting to get back to normal. His photography work was hit and miss at best, forcing him to keep his day job, and he almost felt like it was a matter of time before he'd do something that would ruin their relationship. That was the last thing he wanted. It wasn't that he didn't want to, Jae-Sung felt stronger than he did before due to the intimate nature of their relationship, he just didn't trust himself yet. He wouldn't be the boyfriend that she deserved. Though when he told her that he couldn't, she didn't take it well. Ye-Ji was heartbroken, telling him that she didn't want to see him at all if he wasn't going to commit. It didn't really hurt that she stopped the arrangement, the fact that Jae-Sung caused her pain was what hurt the most. But he respected her decision to end things and never tried to convince her otherwise, no matter how much he didn't want to stop seeing her. Him not wanting to screw things up, did just that.
  
  Jae-Sung sadly accepted that he lost his chance to be with her.
  
  Eventually, when he felt like he was over Ye-Ji, his sister was doing just fine on her own, and business was well, Jae-Sung decided that he was tired of being on his own. He was never a fan of being single and one night stands weren't the same. A friend introduced him to a girl named Kim So-Young at a party. After their initial meeting they bumped into each other again at another mutual friend's house. So-Young was pretty and funny. They got along well, so Jae-Sung decided to ask for her number. They started talking more, eventually they hung out, and then they went on a few dates. After their third date they were officially boyfriend and girlfriend. So-Young has been begging since that day that he meet her best friend and roommate for the boyfriend approval. He's willing, he likes So-Young enough, he just hasn't had the time with trying to secure a job with Seoul Illustrated. Since she was just a kid, Ye-Ji's life was pretty normal, her parents Sang-Hoon and A-Yeong always did their best to provide everything they could, two working parents that regretted not be there all the time as Ye-Ji grew up, but that still showed her how much they loved her.

Growing up Ye-Ji's parents always supported her dreams, ballet, music, art were some of the things Ye-Ji did as a kid, but that she found out she wasn't really good at it until she found her passion for writing, which started in small histories about princess and dragons to what evolved in what it would be in the future her degree. Just around the same time she also found out her other passion, which was fashion, back in the day she would make her own fashion shows and build her own scenarios with pillows and blankets, it was pretty obvious what Ye-Ji wanted to be as she grew up.

When the time came for university Ye-Ji had already made up her mind, she was going to study journalism with a minor in fashion, she was going to get an internship in Seoul Illustrated the fashion magazine she had been a fan of since she was a teenager and later become a full-time employee and become a fashion editor, maybe she had her life more planned than people her age but she was just passionate about her degree that she knew what she wanted and what she needed to do to achieve it.

Was she the perfect student that would study 24/7? Not really, since Ye-Ji also took some time to have some fun and enjoy her college life, but still following her way to fulfill her goals, that was until the birthday of Jin-Ah one of her best friends in college and that's when Seo Jae-Sung came into her life, what started just like a casual flirt and an exchange of numbers, which at first she just thought it would just end up in them flirting for some time and later move on and never talk about it again, but as their interactions were more frequent maybe that casual flirting was not really just casual, that was until Jin-Ah got pregnant and he started helping her, she understood as she was his sister, while Ye-Ji wanted to fight the boyfriend of Jin-Ah, Jae-Sung actually did something to provide for her sister.

Which work on Ye-Ji's case since she didn't have the time to date, having a boyfriend wasn't on her plans, she needed to do everything she could to get that internship, but at the same time not being around Jae-Sung didn't seem like an option, so when both of them declare the feelings they understood that it wasn't the right time for each other, but drinks and two people that have the hots for the other is never a great idea. One thing led to another and before she realized she worked up next to him, they weren't anything but at the same time she didn't want to let him go, so as an act of selfishness she told him they should continue hooking up without the formalities of them dating, it was the best solution for both.

In the end, what she thought it would stay as just as them hooking up, it turned into them spending time together and be involved in each other's life more than it should be necessary, made Ye-Ji believed that maybe there was a possibility for them, did she fell harder for Jae-Sung as they spent more time together and she got to know every flaw and virtue of him, so as the straightforward person that she was just as when she was the one to speak about them becoming friends with benefits. she asked him when he was going to take her on a date, it would make sense that he did that, after all, they spend more time doing things together than actually hooking up.

Sure she didn't think of her as future Ms. Seo, but she was sure that he felt the same way as she did towards him, but it seemed they were in different places in regards to their feelings, so the moments they spend together didn't matter at all to him? Did she was just wasting her time when every time she did something that she felt proud the first person she wanted to tell was Jae-Sung? Maybe he just didn't care at all and was just hoping when she would go to his place and they would hook up, so that's how things were really for him, could she be more stupid? She was sure he heard her heart breaking into pieces when he told her he didn't want to date her.

After she ended up things with him, not in the best way for both, Ye-Ji knew that she was done with Seo Jae-Sung and that she would do anything to never saw him again if her life depended on it. As time passed Ye-Ji finally moved on from Jae-Sung and even went out on some dates and landed her dream job, Ye-Ji's life was supposed to be in the place where she wanted to be, she wasn't expecting that figure of her past would show up as the amazing and incredible boyfriend of her best friend and roommate.
