Had a idea that might be worth it, hard to title it but I figured I can write a bit to paint the scene
What kicked this off?
Interstellar travel, as any sentient being in the galaxy you realise this requires a spaceship.
Also known as a Starcruiser, Starship, Spacecraft, or simply just Ship or craft. A vessel designed for interstellar travel, specifically between star systems. Starships were distinguished by the inclusion of a hyperdrive, a piece of equipment that made exploring the galaxy viable to humanity and other races with similar lifespans.
The hyperdrive changed the galaxy, without it most populations would still be in the process of burning up their atmosphere driving vehicles that can't even break orbit let alone visit distant stars. Though humanity was technologically stunted compared to the Greys who created the Hyperdrive, it was the humans who adapted it and began the process of ruining the galaxy for profit...
Humans created smaller hyperdrives more affordable for the would be spacer, the Hype corporation became the largest reaching force in the galaxy.
Hype corp activities include intimidation on a planetary level, a Willingness to start wars for better negotiations in paying off populations, mining planets clean of resources and converting the husks into Fueling stations.
It's not just any old source of energy that powers a hyperdrive, the HDfuel you might purchase comes in two forms.
The pure stuff, Meridian is a rare element that only grows in the core of certain planets.
Expensive, limited, the strongest source of energy one can use for anything.
(Once refined anyway, can't throw a chunk of purple rock into the gas tank and expect to fly)
The other stuff is man made, synthetic Meridian though almost as expensive as the real stuff it is considered vastly inferior.
The process requires a tremendous amount of resources effort and time for fuel that slowly destroys the hyperdrive instead of power it.
(Basically meaning cheap fuel destroys the engine)
How this starts?
You are a bounty hunter who happens to be apart of the famous Stardust Chasers. To be exact you are a respected member of the Indigo Chasers. A chapter of Stardust that was recently purchased outright by Hype corporation.
Your ship and all onboard have been tasked with a mission that will change everything should you not succeed...
A unknown terrorist has created a biological weapon in hopes they can scare the known galaxy into shutting down the most successful company in multiple star systems.
You have been tasked with capturing this terrorist and destroying the various threats to out galaxy which includes...
The Portal drive, technological marvel of a device that makes the hyperdrive seem more like a combustion engine.
The Z-virus, from what we gather this is a bacterial infection first introduced to a living host through nanotechnology. The result being that those infected become rabid monsters with a sole purpose of spreading the infection. It causes the living to die and the dead to move once more.
Any task hype Corp tells you to do.
How it works?
Think star wars mixed with borderlands. There is a order of laser sword wielding magicians who strive for balance...
Corporations making weapons out of alien technology...
Trade disputes and council problems...
accidental incest all things star wars like it'll be fun.
Most sci fi shit can fit in here as long as you aren't Rick Sanchez creating the answer to any problem with bits of garbage and a sci fi vocabulary.
