Affinity and Magic
Affinity and Magic

Affinity is the inherent magical aptitude that exists in all living beings in Grand Seeker. Affinities are broken down into the various elements that exists within the world. Those elements are Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Thunder, Ice, Light, and Dark. Note that all magic can heal as well as deal damage. Let us go over each element and explain how they work in terms of magic, stats and class titles.

Fire: Fire is an aggressive element by nature. Those who have an affinity with fire will blaze a trail forward, relentlessly attacking until their foes are turned to ash (+1 Speed, +1 Strength upon leveling up). Fire magic is all about aggression and overwhelming force. It manifests as either a Flame of Destruction or Flame of Purification. Those who channel the flames of destruction will find their spells and attacks may cause their enemies to suffer the Burn status which lowers their defense stat temporarily. While those who channel the flame of purification will be able to burn away and remove status effects more quickly at the cost of potentially inflicting burn status on themselves. Class titles associated with this affinity are: Ember, Flame, Burning, Scorching, Blazing

Water: Water is the element of wisdom. Those who are attuned to water can feel the ebb and flow of mana more easily, allowing them to manipulate it for both offense and defense (+1 Magic, +1 Resistance upon leveling up). Water magic is all about give and take in the form of Waves. Waves are spell auras that reverberate from the Seeker providing either healing for allies or debuffing effects to those around them. Whenever a water affinity Seeker casts offensive magic they emit a healing Wave. Whenever they cast a supportive magic they emit a debuffing Wave. The debuff associated with water is Dampening, reducing the magic stat of an opponent temporarily. Class titles associated with this affinity are: Aqua, Hydro, Flood, Crashing, Tidal

Earth: Steadfast is the element of Earth. Those who have an affinity with earth are as unmoving and as strong as a mountain (+1 Strength and +1 Defense upon leveling up). Earth magic is defensive in nature and focuses on using its unique Plating mechanic. Whenever an earth Seeker successfully lands a physical attack they gain Plating, a buff that temporarily increases their defense stat based on the number of stacks (max 5). In order for earth Seekers to cast spells they need at least 1 stack of plating. Upon casting they lose plating stacks based on the strength of the spell. Earth spells all have a chance of inflicting Heavy, a debuff that temporarily reduces the strength and speed of an opponent. Class titles associated with this affinity are: Stone, Graphite, Avalanche, Techtonic, Gaia

Wind: Wind is the element of freedom. Those who are attuned to the affinity of wind will always have the wind at their backs and their shackles broken (+1 Speed, +1 Resistance upon leveling up). Wind magic focuses on movement, evasion, and accuracy by alternating between the Headwind and Tailwind aura status effects. Headwind is a debuff that reduces the speed stat of all opposing Seekers and creatures around the Seeker. Tailwind is a buff that boosts the speed stat of the Seeker based on the number of targets affected by Headwind (max 5). Seekers may only have either Headwind or Tailwind active at one time. If Tailwind is activated with no targets affected by Headwind, the speed stat boost is +1. Class titles associated with this affinity are: Breeze, Gale, Typoon, Hurricane, Tempest

Thunder: Thunder is the element foreboding. Thunder always bring about a storm and those attuned to thunder are recognized as that very storm, powerful and unrelenting (+1 Strength, +1 Magic). Thunder magic channels the raw power of the storm via its Charge mechanic. Whenever a thunder Seeker successfully lands a physical attack on a target, the target receives a Charge stack. Upon reaching three stacks of charge, the thunder seeker can then call a bolt of lightning down to strike them dealing magic damage. Thunder spells have a chance of inflicting the Shock debuff, which reduces the targets resistance for a short time. The class titles associated with this affinity are: Shock, Lightning, Arc, Thunder, Storm

Ice: Ice is the element that represents resolve. Ice is a crystal both strong yet fragile. Those who are under the affinity of ice are unflinching as a glacier and pure as snow (+1 Defense and +1 Resistance upon leveling up). Ice magic specializes in locking down opponents while bolstering defenses through the Frostbite debuff and Crystallize mechanic. Frostbite is a debuff that is applied whenever a seeker successfully lands a physical attack, stacks (max 3), and reduces the opponent's speed stat equal to the number stacks multiplied by 2. Upon reaching max stacks Frostbite converts into the Frozen status debuff which prevents the opponent from moving for a short time and lowering their defense stat while boosting their resistance stat for the duration. The Crystallize mechanic is a stacking buff that (max 5) increases the resistance stat based on the number of stacks. Crystallize stacks are earned when an ice Seeker successfully lands magical attacks. The class titles associated with this affinity are: Frost, Tundra, Glacial, Crystal, Prismatic

Light: Light is the element of knowledge. To protect and enlighten, that is strength of light (+1 Defense and +1 Magic upon leveling up). Light does not have unique debuff like the other affinities. Light instead grants the skills Insight and Light Shield. Insight is a skill that when activated allows a Seeker to view all the strengths and weaknesses of a target. Light Shield is a reactive skill that activates whenever the Seeker is about to receive fatal damage. Light Shield will protect the Seeker from one fatal attack and reduce the Seeker's hit point count to 1. Afterwords, Light Shield will go on cooldown. The class titles associated with this affinity are: Dawn, Radiant, Enlightened, Ascended, Celestial

Dark: Dark is the element of potential. Darkness is neither good nor bad, it simply is. One does not know what is hidden until it is revealed, thus to face and accept the darkness is to show great strength and an open mind to the possibilities (+1 Strength and +1 Resistance upon leveling up). Dark affinity Seekers will find they have access to the skills Drain and Pressure. Drain is an offensive physical attack skill that allows the dark Seeker to drain hit points from a target and heal them for the same amount. Drain can only heal up to half of your maximum hit points and any excess is dealt as damage. Pressure is a passive debuff skill that applies the Pressure debuff causing the target's strength, defense, magic and resistance stats to decrease while boosting their speed stat by +2. Pressure is applied whenever the dark Seeker successfully lands an attack. The class titles associated with this affinity are: Dusk, Night, Shadow, Void, Abyssal

Weapons
Weapons
The world of Grand Seeker is a dangerous place. Monsters roam freely and within the various dungeons and ruins that dot the lands guarding the coveted treasures. One must be able to arm and defend themselves. As a Seeker you have the ability to wield any armament at your disposal. By wielding such weapons you will be granted a title signifying your proficiency with the weapon. Each weapon is unique and can be swapped in and out at any town, outpost or camp. Please look carefully at the types of weapons available and be aware that this list may update with new weapons in the future.

Swords are the staple weapon of would-be adventurers and dungeon-delvers. Swords are easy to wield but hard to master. Given their variety of shape, sizes, and styles, it's no wonder that's the case. Swords can be broken down into three broad categories: Single Blades, Dual Blades, and Heavy Blades. Single blades are light, versatile, one-handed swords. They can be wielded with one or two hands, but commonly they are held in one. Dual Blades are paired single blades meant to be wielded one in each hand. There is generally a main hand weapon and a smaller off-hand weapon such as a dagger or main gauche, but some prefer to wield two of the same weapon. Heavy Blades are large, bulky, and hard hitting swords held with both hands. What they lack in swing speed they more than make up for in sheer power.
Class titles associated with these weapons are: Swordsman, Mercenary, Knight, Blademaster, Sword Saint for Single Blades.
Dual Wielder, Double Slasher, Twin Blade, Blade Dancer, Gemini Striker for Dual Blades.
Heavy Blader, Armor Render, Edge Punisher, Earth Ripper, Heaven Splitter for Heavy Blades.

Polearms are defined by their long reach with their long shaft with a spear tip, blade, or both at one end. Spears, halberds, and lances all fall under this category of weapons. These weapons are generally wielded with both hands due to their length, but certain models can be dual wielded and even thrown.
Class titles associated with these weapons are: Spearman, Footman, Lancer, Knight Lancer, Dragoon.

Axes are bladed weapons that have either one or two cutting edges on either side of the shaft. Axes, much like swords, are broken down into three broad categories: Single Ax, Twin Ax, and Heavy Ax. Single Axes are the fastest of the three. They can be wielded with both hands to provide more force behind a swing, but are generally wielded in one hand. Twin Ax, just like dual blades, has an ax in each of the Seeker's hand granting them more attacks on average. Heavy Axes are large two-handed battle axes that can rip through foes with ease at the cost of having a slow swing speed.
Class titles associated with these weapons are: Journeyman, Fighter, Warrior, Gladiator, Ax Lord for Single Ax.
Dual Wielder, Twin Slasher, Berserker, Dread Knight, Dread Lord for Twin Ax.
Heavy Axeman, Barbarian, Slayer, Reaver, Asura for Heavy Ax.

Hammers are large two-handed weapons that require a great deal of strength to wield effectively. The epitome of brute force, in exchange for it's raw power hammers generally have a large wind up before striking. Class titles associated with these weapons are: Breaker, Smasher, Destroyer, Oni, Polaris

Fist weapons are armaments that that go over the Seeker's hands and arms to provide greater striking force. These can range from simple brass knuckles to over sized gauntlets for blunt force damage to claws and spiked gauntlets to slash or pierce their foes. Class titles associated with these weapons are: Brawler, Grappler, Striker, Martial Artist, Transcendent

Bows are one of the few weapons that deal physical attack damage at range. Normally bows would require a supply of arrows to continue attacking. Seekers who use the bow are able to generate magic arrows allowing them to not have to worry about that limitation. Class titles associated with these weapons are: Archer, Ranger, Sniper, Arcane Archer, Artemis

Firearms come in a plethora of models and certain ones can be dual wielded. Firearms deal physical attack damage at range and have a unique Ammo mechanic to them. Ammo is a counter of the number of shots that a firearm can fire before having to reload. Ammo is automatically generated via magic from the Seeker when they the Reload action. Class titles associated with these weapons are: Gunslinger, Vagrant, Drifter, Bounty Hunter, Desparado

Staves or staffs are pieces of wood or metal adorned with a magical gem or crystal to help channel mana more easily. Staves deal magical attack damage from either close or long range depending on the situation. Class titles associated with these weapons are: Apprentice, Mage, Wizard/ Witch, Sage, Archanist

Tomes are books that contain formulas, incantations, and symbols of magical properties. By opening the tome and channeling mana through it Seekers are able to call forth a great many magical attacks, most usually debilitating. They can also summon creatures from another plane to fight along side them.
Class titles associated with these weapons are: Scholar, Contractor, Occultist, Summoner, Warlock

Charms are unique magical weapons because they don't deal any damage at all. Instead Charms are restorative weapons designed to heal and buff other Seekers. Charms range from spiritual divining rods and wands to effigies and holy symbols. Class titles associated with these weapons are: Charmer, Cleric, Diviner, Seer, Oracle

Sigil Stones are specially crafted 6-sided dice that have sigils etched into each side. Sigil stones are ranged magical attack weapons. When thrown, sigil stones release magical energy in the form of sigils to form spells. Sigil stone attacks have 2 components: Spell stones and Booster stones. Spell stones release the raw magical energy stored within and form the main body of the sigil. Booster stones are thrown alongside spell stones to augment their power and create stronger spells or alter the spells properties in some way. Booster stones have two sigils etched into them. One face is a miscast sigil while the other five faces are success sigils. If a Seeker throws out a spell with a booster and the booster lands on the miscast sigil then the spell will miscast potentially targeting the caster or just fizzling out. Because of this it's advised that you don't throw more than two booster stones to avoid a miscast. Class titles associated with this weapon are: Sigil Gambler, Dice Roller, Gambler, Sigil Savant, High Roller

The tool box are another set of weapons that are unique. Aside from being able to deal both physical and magical damage, the tool boxt allow Seekers to approach combat with a more scientific flair. The tool box is a mobile workshop for Seekers, enabling them to craft items such as bombs, traps, and turrets even while during combat. This makes Seekers who use this particular weapon set unpredictable and great for support from the back lines. The tool box can be used to repair damaged weapons and armor on the fly, but it's no replacement for a visit to a blacksmith. Class titles associated with this weapon are: Tinkerer, Mechanic, Engineer, Inventor, Artisan

Personality: Delilah is a sweet girl who has always been fascinated with games and fantasy. She like to protect characters that felt very different from her. The avatar may look different, but in all games she goes by the Moniker "Miss. chif".

While 'chif' isnt her character's actual name, it what her display name is. Chif is a mischevious individual. If she was to be rated, she wpuld be chaotic good, to chaotic neutral. She may do things for justice but she does them in some of the most decetiful and torturous ways.
Chif loves to toy with her prey, and that is often reflected in her battle style, where she sometimes lulls the enemy into security and dropping their gaurd right before delivering her final blow. All the while, she giggles ln delight.
They both posess a bit of a short temper, and are somewhat impatient when it comes to sitting still for too long.

Background:
Chif is an infamous witch persona of Delilah. Her real name is not known, but it doesnt seem to matter as Chif rather likes her cute and punny nickname. As a character, Chif has typically been a for-hire spellcaster who worked for whomever payed her or had similar ideals to her. Now in trasure seeker she can find the riches on her own and behave how she likes, and she liles to be cruel. She will not let anyone stand in the way of her riches, whether monster or player, evil or good.

Lilia and Lilly share a similar personality, both being incredibly shy. As Lilia, she can be seen often in her tome, reading or otherwise showing off spells.

Basic Information

Name: Ash (Real Life: Cho Ji-Su)

Age: 22

Gender: Female

Appearance: Ash is typically seen wearing semi light to very light clothing, capitalizing on her speed and strength by not having any heavy armor weigh her down. Her long brown hair is always in a pony tail or tied back somehow, as to not get in the way of fighting. Her bangs hang over her forehead in a very clean cut manner.

Height: 5 foot 7

Weight: 125 Ibs

Personality: Cho is very similar in real life as she is as Ash. She has that older sister attitude to her, making her worry over her friends and chaste them for doing reckless things. Despite this, she herself is quite reckless, preferring to get up and physical to fight enemies. She is anything but a quiet girl, preferring to be loud and make herself known so she isn't ignored (something she hates). When it comes to using her words....well let's just say she lets her fists do the talking. She can get quite hot headed in the heat of the moment, especially if someone managed to embarrass her. If this happens, it's hard to cool her down.
Even though she is rough around many edges, she does care for her companions and will always put in an effort to help.

Personal Information

Region Server: South Korea

Background: Cho was never one for video games growing up but that changed quite quickly as her brother got her into a little thing called "RPG". Cho had always been a sucker for good and deep stories, not to mention fake fantasy worlds that just seemed to flare with interesting concepts and life. For this reason, Cho decided to try out her first game and absolutly loved it. By the time she was 20, she had beaten so many RPG's that she felt like it was time to move onto something a little bit different but with the same concept. An MMO. Playing online was never something that interested her but she wasn't against giving it a try. This is why when she had saved up enough money she went ahead and bought a DIVE and then Grand Seeker.

Though short and small in stature, Phantom's body seems more in the middle between burly and thin. With a lean physique and a slightly muscular build, they are able to maneuver small spaces with ease while still being able to fend for themselves.

Height

Complexion
Their skin seems light and fair, perhaps a pale ivory, erring on the side of white. This hasn't been confirmed, however, since it has only been glimpsed during the times their hands are exposed.

Eyes
Concealed by their mask, Phantom's eyes have never been seen by anyone but themselves, making their facial appearance a complete mystery.

Hair
Hidden by their hood, their hair style, length, and color is unknown to the players of Grand Seeker.
Mental Characteristics

Personality
A callous and skeptical individual, Phantom tends to keep to themselves. They are very quiet and reserved, keeping their thoughts to themselves and hardly speaking. They are the epitome of the "lone wolf", going on adventures alone, never partaking in social interactions, and generally seen as one who would not "fit in" with society. Their only companion a silent wolf, Phantom finds no need to have other players try and join them in their quests when they and Marchosias are perfectly fine as a silent duo.

Beyond this thick shell, however, one may reveal that Phantom is a loyal defender. They may be cynical of the general population, but they may be viewed as a just vigilante when it comes to unnecessarily punishing the weaker.

Bayek & Senu Concept 2
History
Just like their appearance and disposition, Phantom's background is a mystery. The player is an unidentifiable entity, and the character is extremely difficult to track. As untraceable as a shadow, the "Ghost" freely walks the land of Regalia with no particular direction beyond leveling up and killing enemies. Until the first Sacred Treasure was announced.

What most do know is that the shadowy character appeared one day and quickly became known as a force to be dealt with. Not as powerful as some other higher levels, the Shadow matches these in strangeness and peculiarity, causing most to involuntarily look over their shoulders. Despite being an archer, Phantom goes alone through the virtual world, finding solace and pride in being alone yet still finding success. Some believe the player is a hacker, but there have been no confirmations as to whether or not this is true.

But once the Treasures' existence was announced, the Shadow Sniper began to be seen a bit more often. Some unlucky few discovered that the mysterious character was just as as ruthless as the rumors said. The Phantom only harbors one simple goal: to gather the Sacred Treasures.

And no one is going to stop them.

Personality: Ragna is a headstrong, cheerful young woman. She's played several MMOs before, so she is very carefree about the process. Win or lose, rich or broke, it's the experience that counts. Unfortunately she also tends to forget to explain things, often leaving new players to figure out her strategy as she charges into battle. Not that she dislikes them; she loves meeting people and working together with them. Why else would she become a tank?

Personal Information

Region Server: EU (Ireland)
Background:
Having grown up in a small village with her siblings, MMOs were some of the best ways she could meet new people. Being a nerd in a village of only 200 people was tough, but having an online community who understood her helped. Not that she turned away from reality; she still enjoyed time with her family, had friends at school, and made a name for herself as a computer expert in town. She just found herself using much of her free time online, either tanking for a party or helping manage her guild. Now in college, she no longer has time to play for hours on end like she used to. Still, when she heard about Grand Seeker she saved money from her work study in order to play.
