Harvey Woodward

gtr-jpg.374905
Harvey looked to Allison as she echoed his thoughts about their problems being too small for them to see from above the city. His attention then shifted to Oliver as he too gave his thoughts on the subject. He couldn't help but laugh when the man called London a shit hole. "Well, I can't argue with either of your views," he lightly replied. As a child, London has seemed like a good place. He'd grown up in a home of wealth and attended a school where he was one of the most popular and intelligent students. He really couldn't complain and was blind to the city's imperfections, at first. As the years went on, he saw the place for what it really was and learned the best way to deal with it was to manipulate or utilise the city's impurities to his own benefit. If he wanted peace and honesty, he was certain he'd have moved to the country by now to spend his days skipping down the grassy hills. But London's corruption was his life and he couldn't deny he enjoyed the thrill of it.

When Oliver asked him to manage the mystery of Russell's casino, a devilish smirk crossed Harvey's lips. "Oh, it will be a pleasure," he confidently assured him. It wasn't that he was against underground casinos - inf act, he could see a lot of potential power and profit in them. He was against Will not sharing the profit and acquiring any form of power. Will's place was beneath the Morgans, on the filthy streets Harvey was looking down on right now.

Maggie nodded as Frankie suggested that closing time was near - she didn't doubt there would be a select few that would resist the Last Call but of course Frankie had people in place for that. She smirked slightly as she called out the Morgan man for smoking in her club, Frankie possessed no fear, so far as Maggie could discern and she loved it. She let Frankie move on to start closing as she wanted, turning her attention back to Desmond at the bar. "I was going to ask what you were up to this evening but.... Well I guess you've got your hands full." She smiled as she spoke, finding herself oddly disappointed. Why she felt this way she couldn't really answer. "I'm sure you'll be handsomely rewarded for your work tonight though."

Jacky smiled as she watched Will take care of his mother, always loving as he was, even for being the criminal that he was too. She waved good night to Clementine as she left for the evening but turned to roll her eyes as Will questioned if he should be worried. "No, I don't know who the admirer it but I don't think you have anything to worry about." She leaned in to kiss his cheek with a smile. "I am hopelessly devoted to you and you know it." She glanced towards where the Morgans were still seated, recalling Clementine mentioning business. Jacky never involved herself in his work directly, legitimate or otherwise, but she imagined all of that would come to change in a few short weeks. She lifted the wine glass to her lips and drank the remaining bit before setting it down. "What do you say, love? Are we going to go home like the old couple we are or find where this party is headed for the night?"

Alena had a lot of fire left in her it seemed, even after all these years. Lucy couldn't really imagine what that felt like now, as her father's murderer was rotting in a hole in the ground. The satisfaction of knowing he was dead would forever put out the fire of hate inside of her. Of course, she could hardly hear Giovanni Gambino's name without clenching her fists but the need to end his life was no longer necessary, as he had been dead almost as long as her father now. Amusement could be seen in Lucy's blue eyes as Alena reacted as most of the Romano's in Chicago had to James being related to them. James hadn't been too fond of the idea either so of course, her absurdity didn't faze him. Alena's mother's death was long forgotten in her mind, she no longer felt guilt for her. If anything, she had done the woman a favor.

A smirk broke on the blonde's features as her husband put the Romano in her place with his words. But he followed it with a genuine appreciation for her having gotten out of there while she could. Lucy wondered vaguely what James and her own life would have been like if they had done the same thing before everything took a nose dive. Despite all the ups and downs, it was difficult to imagine living any other life. Topic of their family was brought into question and Lucy smiled widely at her husband's response. Glad to know he would keep their family information closed like Alena had for the time being. He kissed her cheek and she looked to him with a look of admiration. "So hard to keep up nowadays, seeing as we aren't as young as we use to be hmm?" She asked them both, looking to Alena with a small smile of her own. She would be civil unless Alena lashed out first.

Allison smirked as her brother referred to London as a shit hole. But if she vaguely remembered, there had once been a time when he hadn't thought so. Time and experience of course made everyone bitter. Her brother had ever right to be so in her eyes. The blonde lifted the glass to her lips and nodded in agreement with her brother, trying desperately to ignore glancing Harvey's way again. Oliver wasn't a man who let things get past him, he of course would be able to sense the tension between Harvey and her. She would try and spare her brother's feelings in his own home by not looking like a lovesick puppy.

Her brother began speaking of business once more and listened as he assigned Harvey to further investigate the casino situation. Her glass had just left her lips as Oliver mentioned her taking a few of his clients. Her icy blue eyes shifted to meet her brother's similar eyes and wondered what he was thinking now. It wasn't often that she would do something more than just the entertainment and nightclub side of things. Actually...it wasn't ever. She had mentioned about getting more involved with the business and now her brother was giving her the opportunity to be. She smiled softly his way, wondering if he finally broke through to Dexter. "Of course I'm fine with that." She told Oliver graciously.

Continuing to look her brother's way, she then wondered why he was giving her some of his clients. Her mind went back to the Alley Cat, before the event had officially took off. Her brother had been in some sort of funk that hadn't gone unnoticed by her. Biting her lip, she walked towards her brother, remaining causal as she pulled out a chair for herself and looked up at him. "Are you alright Ollie? I still haven't forgotten about earlier." She hoped he hadn't. "What were you thinking about earlier?" There was a slim chance that her brother would open up to her with Harvey around at this moment, but she had to ask.

Oliver sipped at his scotch as Harvey and Allison gave their nods and their agreements on the plan. Harvey was a trustworthy friend of his, and his sister could handle anything that came her way... Allison’s words cut his last thought short, as a sudden shift in his eyes was clear to the two of them. Setting his glass down on the table, he adjusted his glasses before looking up at his sister...

“I can't be here please, I don't want to be here. I can't be without him. He was my life. What the fuck is there left to live for..!” Biting his tongue as the words from his sister echoed in his head, he glanced at Harvey momentarily, deciding if he should speak freely. A sigh escaped him, he needed to know, and she wished to know.

You just were truly happy tonight Alli, for the first time in awhile, and i’m glad... I just remembered that night.... I didn’t want to bring it up because I know how you handle it, you push it down and bottle it up.” Oliver sighed, his eyes glassing over. “I’m such a fucking hypocrite...” In a sudden motion, Oliver snatched up his scotch glass, his knuckles turning white with the pressure, then suddenly he threw it off the balcony. “This damn world can’t give us a break! Our dammed brother has eyes bigger than his brain! Hey Oliver can we do this? Can you get that?! He’s blinded by stupidity! And what can I do!? Nod my head and hobble away! That’s all I can do! I just make things happen, find money out of thin air! For what?!”

Realizing he had outbursted all his stress at once, his glasses now at the edge of his nose, and his hair slightly messed. Taking a deep breath, Oliver leaned himself against the concrete barrier on the balcony, his voice audibly shaken. “Like I said... I’m a hypocrite...”

Allison tilted her head to the side for a moment as she watched her brother closely. Something in his eyes shifted and the mood that had all been light and perhaps even enjoyable turned tense. Her eyes stared at him as he spoke, Allison knew her brother was holding in all his frustrations just as she did. It was their Achilles heel. Both were too stubborn to release any of it and it all just oozed out in outbursts.

The blonde flinched slightly at the mention of the one night she wanted everything to end. The moment in her life where she had finally hit rock bottom. She wondered briefly why her brother had thought of that night at the Alley Cat, what had triggered such a memory for him, when he went on to say he was a hypocrite. She was about to cut in, already knowing well where her brother's mind was headed but she couldn't stop him now. She nearly jumped out of her skin as Oliver scooped up the glass of scotch and threw it off the balcony. Her heart raced and she looked to Harvey for a brief moment, unsure if he was use to this type of outburst from his mentor yet. After years of dealing with it, it tore Allison up every time to see Ollie like this.

Her heels clicked as she walked towards him. He was now breathing heavily, his voice shaken by everything that had been pent up inside of him. Stepping in front of her brother, she quickly wrapped her arms around him without speaking. Allison knew it was best to calm him down before Harvey could intervene, she had always been her brother's rock. "If you are one, who gives a shit hmm?" She asked softly before slowly unwrapping her arms from around him, taking a step back, she took in his appearance and decided to fix it a bit. Pushing his glasses back into place, she took her other hand and carefully combed it back into place. "Dexter is a pain in the ass, but we all know how hard you work. Who actually puts in the work." Her eyes looked into his icy blues, the same color as her own and smiled widely. "You have Harvey and myself here backing you up Ollie, my reasoning for holding it all in is because there is a time and a place for me to come to terms with it. You can trust in us if you need to vent. Look what its doing to you. I think you've aged 30 years already!" Her tone was teasing and she let out a small laugh, anything to lift her brother's spirits.

Desmond nodded slowly as Harvey filled him in on the source of the information regarding Dottie's unwanted admirer. That was strange in and of itself -- one of the Russell brothers taking an interest in the girl, particularly defending her honor -- and he could tell it gave Harvey misgivings. All the same, it wasn't Desmond's place to question, judge, nor over-analyze. He had orders and he intended to follow them, taking the situation as it came. With any luck, Dorothy's tag-along wouldn't give her any more trouble for the night and she would leave safely without ever being the wiser that Des was watching over her. If not... there were always other plans.

As Harvey thanked him again and departed, Des gave him a friendly nod before turning back to Mags. He shrugged at her comment. "It's not a job," he remarked candidly. In truth, it was something he would have done without any expectation of compensation and without being told, though he would hesitate to consider himself any kind of chivalrous. He downed the last of the gin, pushing the glass back toward Margaret with a meager smile. "Thanks for the drinks and the company, Mags." Desmond hesitated, on the verge of saying more before settling for, "Duty calls. Take care, I'll be around." Standing up from the bar, he turned on his heel to stride away before glancing back to the bartender. "You look beautiful tonight, by the way." With that, he made his way toward the door of the establishment, taking up a position by one of the coat racks where he could be seen lingering without arousing suspicion, but still had an eye on Dorothy in the crowd. He wouldn't be leaving until she did.

The Morgan siblings had always had a unconventional way of coping with stress and anger. They’d bottle it up inside, then let it all out at once to repeat the cycle. It was deadly, seeing as the last time Allison had done this she contemplating her own death...

Oliver almost fell into Allison’s arms as she embraced him, needing the support from his sibling at the moment. They had been through thick and thin together, always having one another’s back, and nothing changed. His sisters comment about hypocrisy made him scoff in amusement, needing the humor at the moment.

Once pulled away, she began to adjust him back to his typical self. His Oliver Peck frames back to position, and hair tossed back. Managing a small simper at her next words, he caught himself against the wall. Looking down on the ground, he frowned as he looked back up to his sister solemnly for help. He couldn’t bend over properly without possibly falling over, and his sister already knew, having picked up his cane for him.

Oliver limped back to the table, slowly taking a seat in on of his patio chairs, propping his cane beside him. “If I could go back twenty years and tell myself not to go to Korea, I would...” Was all he could muster, knowing the frustration and anger began after that point in life...

Harvey picked up on an atmosphere and it what confirmed to him when Allison asked Oliver if he was alright. Taking it as a cue, he turned to the table and retrieved his glass of scotch, before walking to the barrier of the balcony. He leaned forward with his elbows rested on the barrier and looked back out across the city. He figured if they didn't want him present, they would either say so or take they conversation elsewhere.

As he took a sip of the alcohol, he heard Oliver's response and it seemed the older man had been thinking about the night Allison's husband died. Harvey had been in Morgan employment for almost two years at that time, but he was still relatively new and had barely even set eyes Allison at that point. Still, he remembered hearing the news about the crash that same night and he remembered driving out himself to see if he could find the mystery car that had hit her husband's vehicle.

Harvey was brought out of his thoughts by Oliver's sudden outburst. He glanced aside in time to see the glass hurl past a safe distance from him. The younger man didn't flinch and barely even gave the Morgans a second glance, instead, facing forward again and taking a sip of his own scotch. This was a conversation for the two siblings to have and unless he deemed it appropriate, he would not interrupt. Oliver's words then turned to the subject of Dexter, but again, this was family politics and Harvey would not offer up his thoughts unless asked Besides which, he worked directly for Oliver rather than Dexter himself. Finding money, he was happy to help on that front, as he always had been.

Harvey caught Allison glance to him. Though he'd not experienced personal outbursts from Oliver, he was still able to send Allison a look that would reassure her he was perfectly fine in the current situation. He then watched the beautiful blonde walk over to embrace her brother. He then looked straight ahead and knocked back more of his drink, letting the siblings have their moment.

Will grinned as Jacky assured him she wasn't aware of any admirers he should be worried about. He maintained his smile when she leaned in to kiss his cheek. "Well, that's good news. I shall continue to work on our wedding, in that case. I was thinking we could just hold the whole ceremony in the pub. What do you think?" he teased her. In reality, there amount of work going into the wedding was quite exhausting, but he wouldn't so much as admit that to her. Only the best for his love.

When Jacky asked where they were headed next, he couldn't help but look around the club. The Morgan trio had left already and he'd noticed the Porters around the place. He was happy to keep a low profile until tonight was over with and especially avoid the casino after his earlier conversation. He was sure his men could handle the poker game if egos did collide. He looked to Jacky and smiled. "I fancy a change tonight. Let's go back home and be that old couple. It'll be a nice change to get a good night's sleep," he suggested.

Dottie had headed to the ladies bathroom so she could check on her hair and make-up. As she did, she started to wonder why she was bothering at all as she was done with this club. She often sneaked out of the house to go out drinking with her friends and she'd been to many music festivities around people of all ages. For some reason, tonight wasn't as fun and everyone seemed so serious. Not to mention the creepy man who had bugged her earlier. She started to think she was better off when sneaking around rather than attending official events. They were certainly more fun, but she supposed that was because she had her own friends with her.

Ready to just go home by now, Dottie left the ladies room and headed back into the main club and glanced towards the main exit doorway. She doubted it was a coincidence that the older man was once again walking over to her. He was clean shaven, tall, well-built and had short, dark hair. By all accounts, he was attractive, but clearly in his mid-40s, so him being handsome never even entered Dottie's thoughts. The man made a remark in his thick Cockney accent about her still being alone and that they could still get together to talk. Dottie was known to be impulsive and hot-tempered at times. Added to developing some of Imogen's fiery spirit, it came as no surprise to herself when she lost patience with the man and punched him square in the jaw. By all accounts, that could have caused pain to someone a little smaller and skinnier than the man. "Piss off and annoy someone else, will you!" she snapped at him as he grabbed her wrist to stop her from hitting him again.

With a look from Harvey that made it clear he would be okay with all this, she turned her full attention back to her brother, she moved to sit in the chair beside him and listened intently.A small sigh escaped her lips as he spoke of what could have been if he could go back 20 years. A smirk then showed as she dipped her head low, grabbing her brother's visual attention before speaking again. "If I remember correctly, a man once told me, If you continue to wonder what could have been, you will never fully live for what will be." Her eyes searched her brother's as she watched for any sign of recognition of those words. He had spoke them to her, as she sat crying over her dead husband. She spoke of similar themes. What if I had gone with him? What if I had told him to stay? Those thoughts plagued her mind until they almost killed her along with the need to bottle everything inside.

"If I remember correctly, that man's name was Oliver hmmm?" A smile began to form on her lips and she reached a hand out. "You can't continue to let this define you Ollie, you are so much more than the injured." The blonde spoke words of truth, only having the most respect for her brother. She absolutely hated seeing him this way. "We can't change the past, what's done is most certainly written in stone now. We can't bring back the dead, or certain abilities we once had....but we can learn and grow from it. Luckily I have my best friend and favorite brother here to do it with me. I am here to help Ollie, but we have to push past this. Poor Harvey might certainly run away if we spill all our marbles at once hmm?" Allison let out a laugh in hopes to lighten the mood again and looked towards Ollie's protege.

Oliver dipped his head down, wishing to avoid any eye contact at the moment. He was ashamed. Why was he weak like this? He knew he was better than this! As he glanced upward, he spotted his sister’s pair of icy eyes, same as his own. Her words - well his words recycled upon himself hit home.

Sighing, he brought himself upward as he leaned back in the chair, a good sign. Oliver had always been the quietest Morgan family member, that’s why he let Dexter put the family mask on himself, and he did the real work. And he returned back to his quiet self, his icy eyes softened still, but he was putting himself back together. “You’d make a handsome amount of money Harvey, spilling the two Morgan siblings secrets...” The main secret however remained silent, the one Dexter hated the most. And as much as he disliked his brother, he’d never let it out, knowing it could bring down the business for Dexter...

I’ll be fine Allison, thanks...” He never gave his thanks often, and as his voice slipped back into its collected tone, it was evident he would be fine for now. His eyes shot to Harvey, who stood facing London’s streets, but a concerned eye still following his sister. He’d address his knowledge to the the two of them privately, knowing it wouldn’t do good right now. “Well folks it was a nice gathering, but i’m afraid i’ve just had my toll on social gatherings. I need to handle a few business matters in my office, so here’s what I propose. You lovebirds decide who’s gonna leave and who’s gonna stay, we’ll meet tomorrow in my office as a whole to discuss our maneuvers concerning William, but whoever stays tonight will get a head start... So, you pick.” Slowly pulling himself up from the chair, a coy smile plastered on his face. His sister knew he had returned to his deviant self, and Harvey knew regular Oliver had returned. Giving a wink, he limped back inside his home.

Closing up shop wasn't all that difficult. Before she left to go and lock things up, she'd tap the counter and let everyone know they could have more drink before she kicked them all out. She was tired and sleep was very much needed. She made her way to the back and locked all doors; the back door, her office, the bathroom and the likes. Checking the kitchen, she was surprised it was already cleaned up and nearly vacant of all servers. There were a few stragglers who wanted to make sure Francis was okay with the state of everything. When she gave the go ahead, they left. In the morning she'd do inventory but for now she switched off the lights and made her way to the staged, turning off those lights as well. The curtains were already closed so thank goodness she didn't have to deal with that.

She made her way back to the bar with her jacket in hand and took a deep breath. "Everything is all locked up, Maggie." She told her, putting her jacket on. She gave a quick wink and a smile to Stephen before turning back to her partner. "I'm going to take a little walk. I'm almost getting sick of this place." She joked. Before she made her way to the door, she took a glance at the newcomers, who she didn't really recognize. She raised a brow at Margaret and nodded her head to them, but then decided she'd ask about them later. The cold air felt so nice to her, having been in the building all day. It was nice to step out and get some fresh air. She could only hope Stephen picked up on her hint that she wanted him to come out with her. Either way, being outside was a nice change from being inside. Her night was a success and now it was time to take a break from it. A long one, to be exact.

Harvey turned and grinned in the direction of the two siblings as Allison joked about him running away. "Funnily enough, I was planning my fastest escape route," he joked. He then fully turned to face them, leaning his back against the barrier. When Oliver mentioned him making a lot of money with all the secrets, Harvey tapped his forehead and winked. "I'm storing it all right here, ready to cash in on everything," he joked.

Harvey couldn't help but chuckle when Oliver referred to them as lovebirds. He was in no position to deny or confirm such a label. He and Allison had thus far only flirted. He didn't know what, if anything, would ever come of their relationship. He was happy enough living in the moment, for now. His mentor then gave them a choice of deciding which one stayed over. If it wasn't with a woman beside him, Harvey wasn't overly interested in waking up in a bed other than his own the next morning. "I'm perfectly happy heading back to my own place tonight," he confirmed. "Besides, I wouldn't be a gentleman if I expected a lady to find her own way home," he added.

Maggie waved off Desmond has he headed away from the bar to his night's work, she felt a little sorry for the man being called to duty on his night off but she supposed that's how it was in his line of work. She took a passing glance at the patrons still lining the bar; if she didn't know better she would say it was far from closing time. She was about to suggest final top ups for those near by when she heard Des call back at her. It took a moment for her to realize the compliment had been for her. She felt a slight flush rise to her cheeks but was soon stirred from her thoughts as Frankie announced that she'd finished locking up the back. "I'll finish up here." She smiled but soon gave a shrug as Frankie seemed to question if she knew who had just come into the bar. She didn't know herself but she knew they would soon be disappointed to find there was nothing there to drink.

ZLGxKiH.jpg

Jacky rolled her eyes as William suggested the pub, once more, as their wedding destination; she knew it had been in jest but she was begin to wonder if the event planning was becoming too much for him to handle alone. She nodded slowly as he suggested something she hadn't predicted: going home for a quiet night. It was truly unlike him, unlike them, not to see the sun rise after an event like this in the city but she smiled and kept what disappointment she had to herself. "Sounds good, love." She soon flagged down a server, requesting they bring her dress from the back. "It'll be nice to spend the night at home just the two of us."

T1UFOot.jpg

Steve waved off the offer from Mags to refill his beer as she was serving out last call. He certainly hadn't missed Frankie pointed wink in his direction, nor would he miss an opportunity to spend time with her. She was a busy gal and he never had expectations of her slowing down. He stepped away from the bar a moment or two after Francis, collecting his coat from the check and stepping out into the cool night. He smiled as he caught sight of her not too far away and he broke free of the small flow of people exiting the establishment and stepped towards her. "There's the woman of the hour: congratulations on your successful night, Miss Boulie, what have you to say for yourself?"

As men and women continued to filter out of the club, leaving it progressively closer to empty, Desmond began to relax. He saw Dorothy return to sight from the back, heading toward the exit. No one had approached her as of yet, foreboding or otherwise. He had no idea whether the Russell brother had concocted the story of harassment for some reason, but it wasn't his place to make such judgements. Seeing Dottie crossing the floor in his direction, Des began straightening his suit before preparing to depart the club when he froze. A male form stepped in front of the young woman, partially blocking Desmond's view.

Des was already walking steadily toward the two at a brisk pace, noting the man's build should anything... untoward happen. As if on cue, Dorothy lashed out with a punch that struck the mystery man in the jaw, who responded by grabbing hold of the woman's wrist even as she yelled out at him. Desmond broke into a jog, coming up on the man from behind, grabbing hold of the hand that held Dorothy's with one of his own while his other arm braced against the outside of the man's elbow, applying light steady pressure to the joint in a warning gesture.

"I would let the young woman go, sir," Des said flatly, eyes fixed on the middle-aged man. He didn't look familiar, though Desmond hardly knew all of East London's socialites -- and he was a socialite judging by his dress and demeanor.

The blonde watched her brother closely as his own words used against him snapped him back into place. Piece by piece he began to pick himself up again and before she knew it, Oliver was back. It was hard dealing with the emotional lapses at times, she always hated seeing him like that, but she was more than happy to pull him out of the pit he was in as he always did for her. Oliver playfully revealed to Harvey that he could make a pretty penny for the information that was being told to him constantly.

Rolling her icy blue eyes and tilting her head back, Allison laughed as Harvey continued on with the teasing words she and her brother had made. Finishing off the rest of her drink, she set the glass down firmly on the table before playing along again. " See now Mr. Woodward, I could tell the wheels were turning in your head." Surely the last thing she needed was all her dirty little secrets revealed, but Harvey was a trusted man within the Morgan family and he made it clear he was only joking with them both.

Oliver called them lovebirds which caused a normally collected Allison to turn her head, briefly excusing herself silently as she tried to keep the bright red color forming on her cheeks at bay. Allison and Harvey flirted but their relationship had been nothing more than that for years now and honestly she couldn't see anything ever happening at the moment. He was far too involved in the family business and far too close to her brother, it would only complicate things. She had married out of this type of business so she could never experience any sort of grievances that came with being a Morgan and yet, here she was, a widow. After turning her head slowly around again a smirk played on her lips as her brother stood. He was back to himself again and Allison was more than glad to see that.

"I am quite the capable lady Harvey, but you are quite the gentleman so thank you." With that, she too stood up and picked up the silver tray with her empty glass on it. She shook her head slowly, only briefly forgetting that her brother had thrown the third glass off the balcony. "Let me take this for you." Allison plucked Harvey's glass from his hand. The blonde had recovered from the brief embarrassment she felt early and was now back to her normal self as well. Using the opportunity of closeness to her advantage, she leaned in closer to him before saying lowly, "Hope there will be room for me in your dreams tonight. Sweet dreams." Sauntering back into the house, she took the glasses to the kitchen to rinse them off.

Francis going outside wasn't just a way for her to sneak away with Stephen; she truly did want a walk. But walking with him would make it even better. Deciding her heels had done enough damage, she took them off and reached in her pocket finding a strawberry candy. She made an excited sound before turning around towards the voice. She smiled at him and gave a cheeky grin. "If I didn't know any better I'd think you were following me." She teased, facing him as she began to walk backwards. When he congratulated her she gave a small curtsy. "Why thank you. I'd like to thank everyone who put in the time and effort. My partner in crime for dealing with my antics, and this guy I'm sort of seeing for being so understanding." She put her hands behind her back and resumed walking. "Did you enjoy yourself? I know you're just as happy as I am that it's all over, aren't you?"

Oliver limped into his office, the door already opened from his previous time spent before the party. Besides the balcony, this was his favorite part of his home. The walls were lined with books, sitting upon mahogany shelves, minus the the wall that his desk faced which was a french door to the patio. His desk was a heavy piece of mahogany, carved and crafted many years ago, but held the Morgan secrets well. His chair was large and leather, adjusted perfectly to suit his needs. A record player sat in the far left corner by the room, along with a small album beside it.

Taking his seat, he could heat the sink running in the other room, most likely Allison. He knew Harvey wouldn’t let Allison leave, it wasn’t his nature, and that was exactly why he posed the question that way. He needed his sister alone for a few matters, even though he did trust Harvey with his life. Picking up a business proposal he had began to write earlier, he continued his place.

After a few minutes or so, Oliver could hear the clicks of Allison’s heels down the hall. It was amazing she still wore the brutal shoes, by now she usually ditched them. As she entered, he gestured to the record player then the chair. “Put whatever you want on, but keep it low, i’m not going to yell over a blaring Frank Sinatra.” Letting his sister did as she pleased, he waited until she seated herself to switch paper work. Sliding the proposal aside, he picked up a simple form to begin to fill out. “You know you can relax now Alli, no need for formality or masks. I still know you’ve got your heels on, and i’ve got plenty of clothes if you wished to changed out of the lovely dress you’re wearing?” His voice was silently distant as he wrote, and waited for his siblings response.

The man was clearly surprised and angered that the teenager had hit him. As he tightened his grasp on her wrist, she looked around to see if she could see any of her family. She was sure her mother wouldn't have gone far without her. "Listen you little bitch-" the man began to threaten Dottie. He'd stopped, however, as he felt someone grab his hand as he still gripped Dottie's. He also felt the pressure applied to his elbow joint. Upon hearing Desmond warn him to let go of the girl, the man turned his head slightly so he could glimpse the source of the voice from the corner of his eyes. Reluctantly, he released Dottie's arm so he could focus on whoever it was that was butting in. "The lady and I were talking. This has nothing to do with you," he told Des, now turning his body enough so he could look at the man properly.

"Um, no we weren't. I was telling you to piss off and bother someone your own age!" Dottie said, folding her arms now her wrist had been released. Though she figured the truth would be obvious she still felt the need to make sure Des got the real story.

"Whatever we were doing, it's doesn't concern you," the man told Des, ignoring Dottie's protest. "Why don't you run along now?" he said, looking Des in the eyes in a way that suggested he was squaring up to him; challenging him to make a move.

Mallory had been walking around the venue talking to people that she knew, drink in hand as she conversed. She spotted her husband in the crowd and moved towards him when an altercation caught her eye. Mallory turned to asses the situation when she realized that her daughter was right in the danger line. Without a second thought Mallory approached Dottie, Desmond and the man who she did not recognize. She came to a stop beside Dottie and placed her hand on her shoulder “are you okay?” She asked her looking over her daughter in concern before placing her drink on the table beside them. Mallory kept Dottie at her side as she looked at the man as he began to square up to Des. “Were you threatening my family?” She asked him, the posh tone she had adopted for the evening was gone, her voice sounded threatening and cold “I advise you to scurry along back to whatever invested rat hole you came from and leave my family alone before I do something you’ll regret” she told him, her face meant business as she stared him down.

"I'm sure you are beyond capable, Allison. However, it would be rude of me not to use the manners I was always taught," he coolly assured her. Oliver had returned inside the apartment already, perhaps having had enough of this night. Meanwhile, Allison got close and took the glass from Harvey's hand. He couldn't help but grin as he directed his eyes to meet hers. "Oh, those will be fine dreams if you're present in them, I'm sure," he flirtatiously told her.

When Harvey got back to his house, he poured himself a scotch from his drinks cabinet. It was a rare occasion for him to be home this early on a Saturday night and without female company or that of his friends. Regardless, he decided to take the opportunity to think over business and consider how he was going to approach the situation with the Russells.

Desmond resisted the urge to scoff as the mystery man explained that he and Dorothy were merely "talking". He had little doubt that idle conversation was the last thing on either one's mind. Des didn't doubt Dottie's quick retort in the least, having little doubt by now that this man wasn't the kind who was used to being told "no". He was wealthy -- that much was obvious by his dress -- and likely enjoyed some manner of power and influence that he was used to wielding to get whatever he wanted. None of that mattered to Desmond as his gaze never wavered, eyeing the man intently even after he released Dottie and turned to square up on him in an unmistakable posture that never seemed to change as a man aged -- all clenched fists and tense muscles.

Des heard the familiar (and at the moment quite welcome) voice of Mallory at his side. Like a mother bear defending her cubs, she sounded ready to do just that. Desmond's hands were now at his sides as he watched the stranger, chin tucked downward to protect it in the event of a wild punch. Des spoke quietly from the corner of his mouth, his voice smooth and calm. "Miss, would you be so kind as to take your daughter and retire for the night?" he asked politely, never taking his eyes from the harasser. "This gentleman won't lift a finger to stop either of you," Des remarked, in a tone that was as much warning as statement.

Allison had finished with the very few dishes and set the neatly in the drying rack before heading towards where she knew her brother would be. Her heels clicked against the tile as she approached his office, her footsteps slowing ever so slightly as she saw him working. A smirk formed on her lips as he spoke to her, nodding her head, she moved towards the record player and place a Sinatra record on before turning the knob on low volume. Once satisfied that it would be low enough for Ollie but high enough for her ears to hear, she sat down in the chair.

"I know Ollie, and thank you, But if I were to change out of this dress right now I would fall asleep in a heartbeat, not the young woman I use to be, you know." She smiled her brother's way despite the fact he was looking down at his paperwork. Leaning down, she removed her heels before tossing them beside her chair and leaning back into the cushions. "Now brother, I assume I am here for a reason. We have something to discuss?"

Oliver heard the faint clicks of his sisters shoes as she tossed them aside, his attention still on the paperwork... A sharp pain filled his side aburtly, causing the man’s dead leg to suddenly spasm. Grabbing his thigh from under the table, he scooted his hair closer to hide the sudden problem from his sister. The pills...

Looking up his work finally, he leaned back in his seat, the leg finally dying downs “Indeed you are. Now i’ll keep it quick, since you and I both are exhausted... What are your intentions with Harvey? Now I am your brother first before I am his mentor, and I want to make sure whatever you wish to do with him is mutual.”

Allison had noticed the sudden change in her brother's behavior. It was clear to see that something happened, something he was trying to hide. The way he scooted his chair forward indicated that. But at the moment, Allison was far to tired to investigate and she respected her brother's privacy, if it was something that he wished to share with her, he would have done so by now. Forgetting that for now, she focused on what her brother was about to discuss with her. When he asked about Harvey, Allison's eyebrows raised in surprise. She supposed if it had been about business, Harvey would still be around.

Sighing softly, "I'm not entirely sure what you mean?" Playing innocent was certainly not going to help her case, her brother was much smarter than that, and she knew it. Biting her lip, she looked over towards his office window. "I'm not sure yet Ollie. Why are you asking this now? You of all people should know that all Harvey and I ever do is flirt...nothing more." Did he see something she wasn't? It had to be impossible. "He's your protege Ollie, I can't dip my pen in the company ink now can I? that would be very unprofessional of me."
