blank glances that fluctuate between the borders of boredom or disinterest. there is an energy, or moreso lack of, around aiden that makes people think twice about talking to him; smiles aren't an expression that his face wears nor do his words harbor much emotion. most of the interactions you will have with him feel incredibly one sided with a 70% of being utterly ignored, and when you do get him to speak his mind, it becomes clear fast how much pessimism and acerbity his character holds. \

Backstory

a classic case of a child who grew up watching people leave, starting with his mother when he was merely four years old. where she went or why is a question that will never be answered, the whispers and rumours around the disappearance too many, too different, to make one true. his father took care of him until he couldn't, until those features so resembling of a love lost or betrayed became too much for a parent to handle. to the grandparents he went at age 6, dropped off at their doorstep at night, bag in his hand. no goodbyes, just a pat on the head and gone he was too.

[he would later learn that his father remarried and got two kids who would receive more love than he ever did]

living with his grandparents was okay -- great even -- and it would be the only time when aiden would feel cared and loved for. it was a happy five years, a golden era that could only be broken by something as inevitable as death. grandpa went first due to a heart attack and grandma followed closely within the next week --- probably because of heartbreak.

and so, aiden got abandoned and, subsequently, taken in once again. this time, it was an aunt that held enough honor for the grandparents to take care of him, but too much dislike for aiden's parents to love him. his aunt didn't give him much, just enough for it not to be considered child neglect, and aiden further grew up in a household cold and distant. her only true gift was a second-hand pc that still had one game on it.

a game that would soon consume his life.

A stubborn and judgemental personality that was shaped because of the harshness of life. Someone that walks through life with the mentality that you have to build up your own success; and you can’t depend on someone to help you along the way. As she believes that at some point everyone would forget the trust that you put in them.

A hardworking person who isn’t too interested in trivial things and is more focused on accomplishing her goals. Grace shows herself to the world as a detached person to everyone that isn’t her family; who is the only one that knows that behind the tough and determined exterior she is the type of person who would do anything to protect her loved ones.

A competitive and feisty person who is determined to thrive in order to help her family. Even if she has to throw away her youth for it.

Backstory

Since she was young, Grace always remembered her family was just a regular one, with both working parents and an adorable younger sister. She never lived a life of luxury, but you could say she had a comfortable life when she never worried about not having something.

But everything changed when she was 12 years old; after her father announced he would go on a business trip. No one really expected that would be the last time they would speak to him; as he run away and disappeared from their lives without giving an explanation other than they had to pay the debt he had before he disappeared.

Since then, the life of Grace became one where she saw her mother take multiple jobs in order to keep her 2 daughters a float, where most things that she saw as trivial were now a luxury; a life where Grace saw her mother struggle so much that she skipped on the normal things an upcoming teenager wished.

Focusing on school and being the best in her class was her coping mechanism to believe that she was helping her mother to ease her burden, as she didn’t have to worry about her, and to push people away so they could only see her as the uptight and boring girl that only wanted to study. Because in her mind, having no friends was easier than coming up with excuses on why she couldn’t spend time with them; mostly because she didn’t want to burden her mother on asking her for money.

So in a life with no friends, Grace ventured into the world of online games, one where she found happiness and friends for the first time in a long time.
