"Tell me, more than anything else, what does a story need?"

"..."

"An antagonist. Someone, or something, to rally the masses against. Something to unilaterally assign all the blame and hatred towards. Something that when defeated, and make no mistakes you will fail, will reverberate the message of my glorious victory across every universe underneath the empire until it reaches father's doorstep. Then he will have no choice but to accept me as his favorite prince so that I may ascend from merely being content to live within the shadows of my greater brothers and sisters."

Approximately Three Hours Earlier
Pre-Unified Caragos
Imperial Palace - Throne Room

In comparison to the grandeur of the incredibly spacious room, the being idly pacing back and forth between the intricately designed spires placed intermediately throughout the room seemed almost insignificant in comparison. However, in reality, this being was none other than the god, Thalados--which upon any other day would likely have been the most powerful being within that entire quadrant of this particular universe. As Thalados paced, he could not stop himself from looking out at the nearly breathtaking view of the heart of the capital mega-city. Sky scrapers, space ports, and hundreds of millions of lives from various species, planets, and backgrounds called this single city home. It wasn't incredibly surprising, as beings of immense power often could provide the right conditions for life to thrive and only the most formidable of galactic empires to eventually emerge. It likely helped that Caragos, under the protection of Thalados, marked only a handful of a couple thousand planets left un-unified within this universe and thus made for a haven to galactic refugees.

"L-Lord Thalados, the day we've always expected is at hand," a well decorated noble, clearly a favorite pet of the being Thalados, remarked with a distinct tone of fear at the rather obvious. Thalados paid him absolutely no attention.

Dark shadows began to cut deep into the mega-city as light from the closest neighboring star was being partially blocked by the ghastly warships of one of the Imperial Fleets dotting the horizon one by one as they jumped into the sector through tears in the very fabric of the universe. Thalados's fleet would be overwhelmed, and the god was more than well aware of this fact. In a fit of nervousness not normally associated with such a powerful being, crackles of blue energy streaked across the throne room to the god's chagrin. It wasn't the warships that worried Thalados. If it was only as simple as an entire civilization being erased or devastated then the being could easily rebuild given enough time. No, Thalados was more than aware of the fact that he was being hunted by something potentially even more fearsome than himself. That was enough to make a god nervous.

Time seemed to all but blur by as the god stood, motionlessly, while the room behind him delved into chaos. Aides and servants broke into tears while watching battle play out above the planet's surface, nobles and other figures of power fled from the room in a hopeless attempt at escape, meanwhile royal guards shifted uncomfortably at the fate playing out before them. Thalados made no comment as he watched his various ships get torn apart or short-circuited by the beams of concentrated energy and then undoubtedly boarded. It wasn't long before despair for the planet, Caragos, seeped in as the enemy fleet approached the planet closer and closer. Unceremoniously, the ships seemed to open fire, raining death and destruction on a colossal scale down on the planet below. It wasn't standard procedure when unifying a planet, but Thalados knew exactly what they were looking for.

As one particular beam of destructive energy barreled down on a path aimed directly at the imperial palace, Thalados only sighed as he raised his hand and a barrier of godly energy shielded the entire palace in just enough time for the weapon's discharge to crash into it. As streets and buildings adjacent to the palace crumbled in seconds and shot out across the rest of the city akin to shrapnel, the barrier held as the being continued to pump more and more of his very essence into the creation before the destruction finally ended.

"We're saved!" a female maiden shouted out farther back in the throne room out of pure joy as she watched her life not be disintegrated in mere seconds.

"No, I've only played directly into their hand," Thalados remarked as he watched the planetary bombardment come to an entire stop all at once. The weeks of world-wide invasion would follow next, but not before a very special greeting parting introduced themselves to the god presiding over this planet first.

It's possible, if a being is powerful enough, to sense that a wormhole is being ripped into existence nearby far before any other indicator, just as the very 'vorpal' sound accompanying one is only audible moments before the wormhole opens, and the wormhole is only visible once its too late and the door has been connected. Thalados watched anxiously where he knew the door would open, as, lo and behold, the wormhole tore into the imperial palace as Sigmaterian soldiers clad in the full-body, organic armor with energy cores brightly lit up and visible within the chest piece of the armor charged into the room with weapons charged and ready. Thalados's royal guards were caught nearly entirely off guard as miniature beams of energy ripped clean holes directly through their bodies.

More soldiers surged through the wormhole as any guards that weren't directly beside the wormhole managed to muster a cross-fire with the invading soldiers; albeit it resistance was short and swiftly turned fatal for those that put up a fight. In a manner of minutes Sigmaterian soldiers were surrounding Thalados as he continued to look outside on the doomed city with his fingers crossed behind his back.

"Child's play..." Thalados muttered as he quickly turned around and shot out lance after lance of pure, crackling energy that tore through the Sigmaterian shields, armor, and soldiers themselves in a gruesome display of power. As countless soldiers opened fire, the god blinked away in all of a second leaving the beams to harmlessly burn out across the city sky. In the space of a heartbeat, the god seemed to shift from Sigmaterian soldier to soldier leaving gaping holes where vital organs once rested and other bodies charred and scorching from surges of Thalados's overwhelming power. It was during this display of precise godliness and horror that led even Thalados to getting distracted within the moment.

It was during these few, precious moments that Thalados didn't realize these were merely sheep for his slaughter. In the background, far higher ranking Sigmaterians were setting up towers in a pentagram shaped position around the god. It was only by the time that the last one was in place that Thalados noticed the strange devices as he stood on top of several dozen corpses. All at once, each tower seemed to activate as an almost purplish trail connected each tower and soon grew stronger. It wasn't until Thalados approached that he felt the energy naturally extruding from him somehow being sucked away, with the final indicator being the crackling blue energy surrounding the god slowly dying down.

The wormhole that had still been open but otherwise unused while the specialists had entrapped Thalados suddenly came to life once more as Elite Sigmaterian Soldiers secured the entrance before, all at once, they knelt down to honor the being that walked out of the wormhole next before it finally closed. The atmosphere in the room seemed to all but drop as the Prince strolled in, as if the very oxygen in the room seemed to now be more difficult to breathe for anyone still living inside.

"...All of this, and I'm not even worthy of facing down the Killer of Gods, Conqueror of Universes, Harbinger of Death, and Emperor of the Universal Unification Initiative himself? Only one of his many pathetic children, trying to carve out a name for himself by bringing father another god's soul?" Thalados all but growled even though he knew it was for naught. In his mind, it would be better to rile the Prince up and accidentally get killed here than have to face being captured and transported to be killed by none other than...

The train of thought was interrupted by Thalanos, in the course of a second, getting his face smashed into the very floor he called his throne room by none other than the Sigmaterian Prince. Had Thalanos been at full power, maybe he would have had the capacity to dodge it; perhaps even have a chance at escaping his fate. Yet this wasn't the case as golden blood dripped from the being's face as he took a moment to look up at his captor before passing out.

"That's Prince Demoxin to you, swine..." being the last words Thalanos heard before he passed out.

Present
When Thalados awoke he immediately noticed the room was covered almost entirely in symbols meant to entrap and detain both him and his powers. Sitting in a chair that seemed to almost contort and move underneath him, the god felt pathetically near mortal while trapped in such a room. Looking around there was only an incredibly large Sigmaterian device of some extent, several high ranking soldiers and what looked like a scientist, as well as none other than Prince Demonxin himself. With a nod from the Prince, everyone else in the room left and it was suddenly only the two beings staring down one another. Thalados was tempted to speak first, when he was instead cut off at the last moment by the Prince going on about antagonists and Thalados's supposed role to play in this twisted game.

"...So you're not gift wrapping me to your father?" was all Thalados could muster as he was incredibly confused with the situation at hand.

"That's up to you. I'm offering you the bargain of a lifetime. Almost all of my father's other children have given him at least one if not a couple god's souls. No, my ambitions are so much higher. I'd like to free you to a whole new universe. I've got one in mind already that will work excellently. One where you can rally the various empires together against the fear of a looming universal invasion and persuade them to send out their fleets to their death. Moreover, I want you to coerce the most powerful beings of that universe to trust and aide you in your quest against the U.U.I. so that when the time they will all be in one place and ripe for the picking. Do this, and your life will be spared. What is one god's soul when I can offer up my father an entire universe crippled and ready for the taking on top of its greatest and most powerful champions already captured for him?"

"Heh, you want me to actively work on leading a force against you and effectively your father? That's a death sentence if I've ever seen one. What's to stop me from just hiding out on whatever Universe you drop me into?"

"Oh," the Sigmaterian prince smiled in a clearly malevolent way as a digital interface appeared next to him, "you were passed out far longer than you realize..."

Present
A Different Universe
Genevia - Central Diplomatic Station
Hundreds of leaders, thousands of diplomats, and an insurmountable amount of similar agents and security personnel convened in Genevia, a planet dedicated solely to honoring talks and discussions between any and all galactic powers, during the annual mass ceremony. It was during these times that all members of the united galactic nations were required to at least send a representative, meanwhile it was commonplace for empires not associated with the galactic nations, or even for empires that would normally be shunned for their actions, to attend during these times.

As more and more important faces continued to gather within the walls, none of them could know that there was an uninvited guest that would be making his way soon enough...

(Thanks for reading! I'll hope to have the Character Sheets up within a day at most. In the meantime, I'd love to hear from people that would enjoy joining and/or have questions)
