Griffin had a lot of issues with everything that happened. Specifically, there was not a problem with Aedrianna sticking close to him, even though she was clearly older-- at least the closest Griffin could assume of his own age was 16, like in his past life or it could be the short time ago he 'woke up' in his new body. This made her older but she behaved younger. He didn't mind because he was an older sibling in his past life. Even if she was older, he hadn't minded taking up what seemed to be a role for her similar to a protector of some sort. With that being said, one of the weird zombie-like humans stole her book, and...tried to merge with it or something? Either way, Griffin stole the book back and gently hit him on the head to not cause any unneeded harm, even though he could technically do so since he wasn't from the Eastern Empire or merchants' guild. He talks to him in a quiet tone, scolding him.

"We are in a cave full of mutant arachnids. This behavior could wake them up, then we could all die, and you wouldn't be able to find any more books to er-- do that with"

Griffin hands the book over to Aedrianna. After he stopped talking to maggot corpse.. he went back to where he was before and Luisa? She was an issue all on her own. He could understand taking up the orders of her leader. But did she always talk to her teammates like that? Well, for the sake of peace, he wasn't going to. Not until after this was all done with and everyone had survived, so he settled on giving her a look of disapproval. He used his ability again to make himself undetectable through sound [Gust Cloak [F] ] and repositioned his bow just in case he needed to attack.

Tyrmar

As the like minded and most forward thinking of the hired warriors gathered, and Aedrianna, Tyrmar found his eyes falling upon each of their arms and demeanor in the face of scouting ahead. As Shotgun Blowjob made their presence known once more he allowed himself a chuckle before addressing the young merchant, ā€œIt seems as though rotted as they may be they have a useful perspective of their own, and to answer your question while Iā€™ve little knowledge of the undead Iā€™d ask you. Or to judge them too harshly based on purely appearance, after all I myself am something of a corpse put back together.ā€ He joked gesturing to the various strips of gold layering over some of his scars. ā€œAnd make sure to remain aware, though potion ingredients are important it means nothing if you canā€™t leave with your life.ā€

Whatever good mood heā€™d gathered was quickly skewered by the words of the arrogant soldier of the East who brushed past them with little concern for cooperation even reluctantly, something he couldnā€™t find in himself to be all that bad

After all he was here to kill bugs not protect slavers.

He made his attitude clear as he replied ā€œWell well if the ā€˜honorableā€™ soldiers of the east wish to lead the advance let me not be one to get in the way, we fae friends do tend to drag our feet like roots.ā€ He mocked before turning the the remaining group.

ā€œWell you heard the bosses, stay alert, stay together and most important be sure to have fun.ā€ With a wink he took up point giving a pat of the back to Griffin, and leaving his back to him.

It was time for a hunt.

In the dimly lit hatchery of the giant bug nest, the air hung heavy with an earthy scent and an oppressive atmosphere. The cavernous space was dominated by a sprawling network of egg pouches, each one pulsating with an unsettling energy. The walls seemed to throb with an otherworldly presence, casting eerie shadows that danced across the uneven surfaces.

The small group, led by Luisa and accompanied by Squeak, Trymar, Griffin, Aedrianna, Rios, Maggot Corpse, and Bloatfly Incubator, moved cautiously through the hatchery. The flickering torchlight cast elongated shadows, distorting the grotesque shapes of the egg sacs that loomed overhead. The occasional scuttling of unseen creatures echoed through the chamber, creating an unnerving symphony that heightened the tension.

Aedrianna, the potion-maker of the group, couldn't resist the lure of the strange mushrooms dotting the cave floor. With each careful pluck, she added them to her satchel, the dim light revealing the odd colors and textures of the fungi. The group moved silently, their eyes darting between the cavern's dark corners, alert for any signs of movement. Everyone joining in to collect the mushrooms though failed in their harvesting attempts.

As they delved deeper into the hatchery, the group sensed an increasing malevolence in the air. The egg sacs seemed to throb with a rhythmic pulse that resonated with an unseen heartbeat. Unearthly whispers drifted through the chamber, too indistinct to decipher, but leaving an unsettling impression that the nest itself was alive and aware.

After what felt like an eternity of cautious progress, the group reached the heart of the hatchery. The cavern widened into a massive space, the ceiling obscured by dangling egg sacs that cast elongated, shadowy figures on the ground. It was here that the group's path was abruptly halted.

The unsettling cracking and scraping noises that had accompanied them since entering the hatchery intensified. The cavern floor vibrated beneath their feet, and the group exchanged uneasy glances as the source of the disturbance became clear. From the shadows emerged a colossal bug, its segmented exoskeleton reflecting the dim light in a grotesque dance of shadows and highlights.

In a disturbingly coordinated manner, the bug used its heavily plated head to seal off the path behind the group. The way back to the main party was now an impassable barrier, leaving the smaller group isolated in the ominous heart of the nest.

A sense of dread settled over the stranded adventurers as they realized the magnitude of their predicament. The cavern, once dimly lit, now seemed to close in, enveloping them in a suffocating darkness that accentuated the grotesque features of the giant egg sacs.

The colossal bug blocking their exit emitted guttural, chittering noises, its massive mandibles clashing together in a disturbing display of aggression. The echoes reverberated through the chamber, creating an unsettling cacophony that resonated with the heartbeat-like pulses of the nest.

As the vibrations subsided, the cavern came alive with movement. Emerging from the shadows, ten smaller bugs revealed themselves, their spiky legs skittering across the cavern floor. The group was now surrounded, the ominous creatures closing in with a coordinated and predatory intent.

  • Fighting bugs

Things had gone wrong particularly fast. Now closed off deep within the depths of the nest's hatchery, Griffin was trying to figure out what to do. In front of the party was an enormous arachnid who had at the moment blocked off everyone's exit. Griffin had no idea of their general attack patterns or their weaknesses. He was an archer. He needed to figure out a way to aim at a spot where it wouldn't hit that the mutant's exoskeleton, which he remembered Aedrianna talking about before they had gone this far, was strong enough to make armor. Something like that would surely be the waste of a perfectly good arrow. These weren't wolves. He had to figure out something. He contemplated his moves whilst he didn't want to leave Aedrianna's side. The poor girl seemed practically glued to him to the point he felt like a obligated protector, which Griffin had no issue with. His yellow eyes sized up the bugs and he wondered...

    'Could I fly above them?'

He was particularly slow at flying. He had no idea of their general attacks, but did any of them know? Or did the others secretly plan on smashing their shells somehow? He wouldn't be surprised if that was Luisa's plan based on her behavior prior and she probably could. from what he was able to gather, she was a mage. But he was not, at least not yet. He had to make use of what he could do at the current moment in the present. He couldn't aim blindly. He tells Aedrianna hoping Tyrmar wouldn't have an issue with it.

"Stay next to Tyrmar. Sorry I can't stick near you"

He was slow at flying. He had to hope he could be just fast enough. Accepting the risks. He backed away from the multi-coloured-haired girl, he spread his wings. It wasn't the best plan, but first he needed to get information and a safe distance. He slowly flapped his wings, which felt odd as it tended to be, and he couldn't tell if it was because he wasn't used to this body or if it was because the body was artificial. He began flying with the usage of [Flight[F][Feature- Eagle wings] and using [gust cloak [F] ] to attempt to fly as high as he could, quietly examining the bugs-- he had his eyes specifically on the colossal bug. He uses [Apprasiel [E] ] to attempt to find any weak point he could exploit. He kept his arrow nocked and at the ready in case he found one.

To her credit, the only sound that came out of her mouth upon seeing the horse sized arthropods, was a low groaning noise that almost seemed to blend in with the low clicks of the creatures surrounding them. It was then that she became more aware of just how close those slimy cave walls were. There really wasn't anywhere to run. She edged closer to Griffin, fear gripping her heart. But when the young man turned to her and tried to reassure her, she felt her stomach flip a few times. Not that she specifically felt like he could protect her more than tall dark and handsome. But the idea that her cave buddy was about to go off alone made her a little scared for him as well as herself. Before she could utter a word against his leaving, his tawny wings took him above them all, with his arrow nocked already. She was only lost in admiration for a few seconds before her blue eyes flickered towards Tyrmar who she'd been told to stick close to. Hopefully he wouldn't decide to run ahead and be a hero too. She wasn't sure Luisa would be kind enough to hold her hand either. Her lips curled upwards at the corners in an attempt to smile sweetly, through her fear. She reached into her pouch slowly, trying not to attract attention to herself. And pulled out a few small vials of low grade Strength potions. [Alchemy Grade F]

"H-Here" She whispered quietly trying to pass them out surreptitiously to anyone who could reach.

Tyrmar

Deeper and deeper the group trekked into the bowels of the nest, each step carrying with it the chance of sudden ambush from the slumbering beasts. As the way made itself known they were allowed more room much of which was covered in the eggs of the insects they were there to slay.

The central nest of the cavern was wide and tall allowing room and bioluminescence for a sizable Queen to live in, it was as he was making note of where and how they could start with finding it that they sprang their trap.

The bug monster was large indeed and as it blocked the entrance it made its intent to keep its meal close at hand obvious, was it a ploy from the beginning? Had they known the parties were coming from the start and allowed them to get deeper until they couldnā€™t escape?

As more assailants made themselves known his group also showed their worth, Griffin took to the skies to provide a faithful eye, Aedrianna with all her fears still managed to try and assist as best she could.

It would be quite rude if he didnā€™t also pull his own weight wouldnā€™t it? After all, the bugs showed their lack of wisdom with this gambit; because just as theyā€™d locked in their prey theyā€™d also allowed hunters into their home.

A mistake heā€™d seek to show them the consequences of.

Receiving the potion with a wink, Tyrmar turned his gaze directly to the greatest threat in the room ā€œMy thanks Lady Aedrianna, be sure to stay back from the front, we have some exterminating to accomplish! Easterners handle our flank, Rios aid them, Shotgun Blowjob give me something to fight to!!!ā€ Never breaking eye contact with the truck sized beast Tyrmar took several steps forward clearing the group as his armor awakened by instinct, covering him in a golden sheen of light and struck at the beast with an air shocking palm strike.

As the way back was shut behind the party the immediate feeling of danger washed over Bloatfly Incubator. Rising once more from his crouched position he swayed in place. An ominous calm before the storm, his jaw unhinged as Bloatfly's teeth gnashed silently. Truthfully there was an argument to be made that Bloatfly Incubator was closer to the bugs than the fellow adventurers and soldiers he found himself surrounded by. Bloatfly had no goals, no greater motive for being here beyond stumbling on through and being quite famished. Unconcerned with the prospect of death Bloatfly was merely here to cause problems.

Unslinging his guitar from his back he placed down his amp. Plugging in the guitar, the amp gave a pop before emitting a low static hum. How exactly the amp worked without electricity would be unknown to everyone but Shotgun Blowjob, most likely magic. Pausing for a moment his calloused fingers caressed the strings of the his instrument. Suddenly he began playing. The song started with a screech as his nails ripped against the strings before slamming down on the guitar. The Chords would be played in G maj, A# maj and F maj. The music emitted, if you could even call it that was a low rumble, a heavy beat slowly quickening its pace as Bloatfly played. Quite deafening to those unprepared. A feeling of rage and anger surrounding the song could be felt. Interconnected with Bloatfly's own emotions the music was apart of him as much as his own skin and muscle. As the beat and pace picked up so did Bloatfly's movements.

Thrashing with the music he flung his head back and forth, his hair whipping up and down as the pace quickened. Blood beginning to flow from his nostrils as Bloatfly jumped from one foot to the other, gargling as he did. Within the cave itself and roughly fifteen meters around Bloatfly Incubator flashing lights began to appear, strobing colors of red and white would begin matching the BPM of Bloatfly's music.

Rios took the low grade strength potion from Aedrianna and immediately drank it. He was pleasantly surprised that it actually wasn't that bad. Hearing the tactical guidance of Tyrmar on how to deal with the bug creatures. Rios gave a small nod before sliding on over to check on the Imperials. Waving at Luisa before drawing both of his katana. "Here's hoping both of us get a big payout, Imps" said the wannabe adventurer turned mercenary. An eager Rios stared intently at the bugs who were attempting to close in on him. Taking a stance with both of his swords. Rios leapt at the bugs. His blades moved with both ease and fluidity. Now Rios was trying his best to make as few mistakes as possible. One wrong move and he could find himself eaten alive. Dashing toward the insectoid monsters. Rios swung both of his blades around like he was in the midst of a whirlpool. Spinning around in the way of a struggling salmon subjected to the rages of swirling water. The weapons in the hands of the Wannabe Adventurer would surely be able to cut through the carapace of the smaller bugs with ease. Cutting through the chitin of the big bug would need something much larger to the tune of an even BIGGER sword.

Feeling the encroaching threat of the smaller bugs closing in, Luisa wasted no time. With swift determination, she launched herself forward, her armored fist connecting with the nearest smaller bug. The force of the impact pierced the creature, its chittering echoed loudly in the closed room.

In the same fluid motion, Luisa retrieved her grimoire, the family's unique magic treasure, from her side. She swiftly flipped through its pages, whispering incantations under her breath. The air around her crackled with energy as, in response to her command, five living pawns, and five living knights materialized in the dimly lit hatchery. "Kill the bugs, leave none standing!"

The living chess pieces emerged with a surreal grace, each one poised for battle. The pawns, frontline fighters with little defense, formed a protective barrier around Luisa. The knights, combining strong offense and defense, took up positions ready for combat. As the smaller bugs closed in, Luisa's chess pieces sprang into action. The pawns engaged the creatures in a fierce frontal assault, their attacks coordinated and relentless. The knights, with their dual-purpose capabilities, defended the group and launched counterattacks against the encroaching threat.

The cavern echoed with the clash of exoskeletons, chittering, and the ethereal sounds of the summoned chess pieces in combat. Luisa stood amid the chaos and remained focused on directing her living minions strategically. Her resolve was unyielding as she fought the insect threat alongside the group and even though she was still weary of Tyrmar, Luisa had orders that she had no intention of disobeying.

"Alchemist, stay close to me. Things are going to get more dangerous from this point on and the captain will have my head if you perish. Got it!".

Maggot had shambled his way throughout the depths of this long cavernous system. The scampering of miscellaneous bugs across the walls had perpetrated itself in Maggot Corpse's ear drums. As a tinnitus that never left it ebbed and flowed at various audio levels; tuned into the very frequency of his own disorientation he was often seen bumping his chest into long stalagmites erecting from the ground. Maggot was lucid in the large sweeping spaces that the band of adventurers had occupied. It was an erratic behavior that persisted well into the eternity long trek.

For all his visionless stumbling he had acquired a new alertness as one expanse opened into another. The hatchery had stretched out toward Maggot and welcomed him to his secondary home. The walls of egg sacs rolled over another as clouds creeping across the ceiling and the floor of the hatchery. There was a glowing radiance to the egg sacs that bled offensive pulsations that would easily offend the senses. It was a lot of visual stimuli for Maggot Corpse all in one moment, all of which he attempted to embrace yet the peculiar voice of Tyrmar had boomed through the crowd.

"Give me something to fight to!"

Maggot had heard it well but the lapse in attentiveness had seemed to make the order go amiss. That was until the high pitched crack of Bloatfly Incubator's amp had injected a new sensation into Maggot Corpse. It had come to him in a few flash moments when the queen bug had consumed the periphery, the shaking of boulders collapsing their entrance behind them had spiked his nerves. Maggots eyes darted left and right before fixating on the myriad of smaller bugs that had formed from the shadows of the cavern walls. They formed a dangerous circular formation around the group. Maggot Corpse faced the smaller bunch of ants that had skittered across the floor & held his microphone stand close in front of him. There was already the gnashing of Bloatfly Incubator's guitar backing him.

Maggot licked his lips as he warmed his vocal tract, a low growl cooking a dimly lit flame in his bunsen burner throat. There was a howl which penetrated the air before shifting into a conundrum of shouts and shrieks. The lyrics were indiscernible over the compression and distortion he had layered in his own chest. Violent vocal belts and screeches had begun to form a spell in the air. The arousal of hatred that could not be shaken, a warm compress baring down on the heart, a burning piece of wood left to fester in ones intestinal tract. This was the effect that Maggot Corpse's ability had on those who bore the brunt of his attack. They were powerful feelings & directed at the ants could cause an uncontrollable reaction that may work in the fortune of the adventurers. Maggot oftentimes was not protected from his own spells, yet there was an excitement to it that he perversely chose to flail himself in.

Aedrianna gave a soft but audible squeak upon hearing the barked orders. Luisa seemed to know what she was doing and understood her own chain of command. Her body jolted to the position of Attention immediatlely, such was the presence of the womans voice.

"Y..y..yes Ma'am!" She stammered out quietly, and without any further hesitance, she closed any distance between her and Luisa, admiring the womans defensive magic. "They're like chess pieces." She cooed, almost glamoured enough by the magic to forget the dire situation. She was a little surprised, Luisa had seemed to be the least friendly of the bunch. So she was certain she wouldn't have any time to baby sit a helpless non combatant. But she wouldn't complain in the slightest. She haled all the compliments she could on the pink haired beauty for letting her hide behind her.

Narrative Post

In the dire midst of the encroaching bugs, Trymar, exhibiting a display of sheer determination, moved with lightning speed toward the colossal bug blocking their exit. Unleashing a powerful, focused strike with his fist, he shattered the bug with an unexpected force, reducing it to a grotesque, mushy pulp. The unexpected obliteration revealed the path back to the main force, offering a temporary reprieve from the relentless assault.

With the exit momentarily cleared, the team rallied their efforts to fend off the remaining bugs. Bloatfly, the eccentric musician of the group, swiftly produced a guitar and launched into an ear-damaging performance. The discordant notes echoed through the cavern, disorienting the bugs and distracting them from their predatory intentions. A distraction Rios used to swing his weapon before managing to land a critical blow that outright killed one of the bugs. The element of chance played in their favor in that crucial moment.

However not all would go favorably for the group, as the skirmish unfolded, the undead duo, Maggot Corpse, unleashed a bizarre and unsettling attack. With a grotesque 'instrument' in hand, performed an ear-piercing rendition that seemed to transcend the boundaries of music. Whatever emanated from the man was far from harmonious, resembling a cacophony of screams and discordant notes. The disorienting assault wreaked havoc not only on the bugs but also on the team itself. The screams and howls that emanated from Maggot Corpse's performance carried a damaging effect, assaulting the senses of both friend and foe alike. It was a double-edged blade, a chaotic symphony that simultaneously dealt harm to the bugs and inflicted a toll on the very adventurers it sought to aid.

As the bugs recoiled from the auditory assault, the team seized the opportunity to press their advantage. Luisa, fueled by a surge of adrenaline, delivered a precise strike, exploiting the momentary vulnerability of their insectoid adversaries. The living chess pieces, following her lead, coordinated their attacks with vigor, creating a synchronized onslaught that overwhelmed the remaining bugs.

With the last bug vanquished, the echoes of the unsettling performance by Maggot Corpse lingered in the air. The team, although triumphant, bore the scars of the intense encounter. The cavernous space, once filled with the ominous presence of the bugs, now echoed with the aftermath of battleā€”a cacophony of heavy breaths, the faint hum of lingering dissonance, and the palpable tension of what lay ahead.

  • Counter attempt

This went from bad to worse. First it was going alright. Griffin had discovered two different weak points, it seemed, for the mutant arachnids, being their eyes and fire. So Griffin had made a mental note to shoot them in the eyes if they encountered more. However, Maggot corpses 'performance' of sorts has affected everyone in the long run. While it was one of the reasons the party had beaten the bugs in the first place, Maggot Corpse's attack affected the party. Or at the very least affecting Griffin. As fast as he could, he landed back on the ground and started trying to find a way to get the noise to stop. His response was to make as much noise as he could himself in turn. First, he used [fighting style [Wind Archer] [E]] with his prepared shot from before aimed at the floor and shot it to create any form of noise he could manage, and then began running in a circle using [Fast [E] feature:lion feet] to attempt to cover up the sounds of Maggot corpses screeching with the sound of his own running.

The ear rattling sound filled the cave and reverberated around them all with the worst kind of acoustic. Aedrianna cried out as the sound filled her head with chaos, and anger. Shaking, panic stricken she reached into her pouch and pulled out a couple of potions. Though it was a little hard, since she couldn't keep her hands steady, she mixed two solutions together [Alchemy: Grade F] to come up with a sticky precipitate. She wasted no more time in placing the sticky ichor in her ears. It would be hell to get out of her hair later, but that noise was too much in the cave. Even so though, after all that; she was feeling a little woozy, was it her or was the cave spinning? She held her hands over ears to try and block out more of the noise and stumbled closer to Luisa.

Tyrmar

The carapace of the guard bug easily fell under the weight of his strike, the wave of force passing through it and the entrance wall allowing them a greater amount of area between themselves and the main party. In but a single exchange his companions dispatched the bugs in their own sides as well, leaving naught but the sound of guitar riffs to echo through the chamber.

However as the second part of the band strummed his instrument Tyrmar felt a deep sense of danger honed by experience and a high distaste of the mental arts. Making a quick and explosive step in the middle of the group Tyrmar brought his hands together in a thunder clap that drowned out as much sound as possible.

ā€œA marvelous performance, one worthy of a grand applause but letā€™s be mindful of our comrades, shall we sirs?ā€ With a grin that edged on intimidating he gave them one last look before checking the surroundings.

As the riffs continued and in turn Shotgun Blowjobs performance the rage that Bloatfly knew all too well began to overtake him. His head continuing to whip back and forth as he turned to his companion in song. His features rabid, akin to the of an animal rather than a man. With Shotgun Blowjob quickly reaching the crescendo of their music Bloatfly broke from his guitar. His mouth agape as he attacked Maggot corpse, he sent one of his spindly hands flying into his vocalists jaw. Before attempting to quickly wrap his fingers around the mans neck. Squeezing tight and shaking back and forth. Screaming as he did.

ARRRGHOOOOOOOOOOOOLULULULULULULULULU

Bloatfly screamed, his tongue flapping in his unhinged jaw. The piece of meat slapping between the roof of his mouth and the floor. Spit and bile exiting as he did. The blood gushing from his nose painting Maggot Corpses face with Bloatfly's warpaint.

Not even Bloatfly Incubator was free from the emotion that consumed their music.

Rios was happy to see his sword had cleanly carved through the body of the bug. Flicking the viscera off of his sword and cleaning it against his bracer. The wannabe adventurer turned discount mercenary sheathed both of his weapons. He had to thank the little alchemist girl who gave him that potion. It was in no small part thanks to her that he was able to make such a clean cut. However his attention was immediately pulled by the ear splitting shrieking of Bloatfly and Maggot. It certainly helped them deal with the aggressive bugs. Now it was just grating and annoying. Rios wanted to cover his ears but he knew this kind of auditory magic could only be dealt with via extremely persuasive methods. The deafening cries of Shotgun Blowjob needed to stop. So Rios proceeded to say one of the many mantras he learned from that one construct priest who he shared a wagon with on the journey here. According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way that a bee should be able to fly. Its wings are too small to get its fat little body off the ground. The bee, of course, flies anyways. Because bees don't care what humans think is impossible. Inscribing such knowledge onto his very being. Rios proceeded to grab one of the larger bug corpses and throw it full force at Shotgun Blowjob in order to get them to stop their shenanigans. He wasn't strong enough to lift the massive bug corpse but one of the other ones would be just fine.

There was a lot of action in such a brief amount of time. Maggot Corpse had become all consumed in his own self-destruction. The blood curdling screams and growls that he was emitting quickly became the focus of intervention for many of the adventurers in the party. It made sense given the abrasive nature of the band and the danger that he posed for both the bugs and the party. However, Maggot had been lost to the nature of his own unbridled chaos. The man was wholly moronic as he thrashed around & spiraled. Maggot Corpse had heard a thunderous clap aimed to dispel his rioting and then his own bandmate had lashed out at Maggot. The forces that be were all conspiring against Maggot Corpse in the present.

"I'll tear your flesh off!"

Maggot shrieked at his bandmate in this sudden spat of betrayal. Easily put off balance from his frail nature and then caught in a formidable grappling exchange. The must of Bloatfly Incubator was repugnant. The viscera dribbling down from his disgruntled face and onto Maggot Corpse's neck and cheeks. The vocalist scratched back at the guitarist, trying to claw at the loose skin that was tantalizing Maggot from underneath Bloatfly. This all in spite of the bug that was also being hurled at Maggot in the current moment.

~Luisa O'Sullivan~

As the dissonant echoes of Maggot Corpse's unsettling performance reverberated through the cavern, Luisa swiftly responded. With a steely determination, she summoned forth five rooks from her grimoire. "Defend both me and the Alchemist!" she commanded, her voice cutting through the chaotic symphony.

The living rooks materialized with an imposing presence, forming a protective barrier around Luisa and the Alchemist, Aedrianna. Positioned strategically, the rooks raised their defenses, ready to intercept any potential threats that might arise from the lingering effects of Maggot Corpse's attack. Barriers on full display as they shielded against the audible assault.

With the rooks at the ready, Luisa's attention shifted to the aftermath of the skirmish. The bugs lay defeated, and the team had successfully countered the assault with a combination of skill and teamwork. However, as the dissonance subsided, a surge of disgust and outrage coursed through Luisa.

Her eyes locked onto Maggot Corpse, whom she regarded as a "subhuman monstrosity." The memory of showing mercy to this eccentric musician earlier in the day fueled her sense of hatred and disgust. "You dare to attack me, even after being shown mercy," she seethed, her voice laced with disdain. The disdain was not only for the undead musician but for the audacity of such an attack within their own ranks. Even if only temporarily a team, friendly fire was punishable by death and no less. Eastern Military Law was very clear on such.

Luisa's armored fist clenched with fury as she regarded Maggot Corpse, her anger simmering beneath the surface. The cavern, once filled with the echoes of battle, now resonated with an uncomfortable tension. The team, having weathered the physical and auditory onslaught, now faced the internal struggle of trust and unity in the face of unexpected betrayal.

"By the code of Imperial law, I will have your head! Surrender now, or perish slowly, you filthy creature!"

The fingers were boring their way through his esophagus. All the vile fluid coated across his face like a wet blanket. Teeth grit as his untrimmed nails swiped at his bandmate. At times his vision was blurring and at others reddening. Unsure if it was the lapsing of consciousness that was trying to win him over or the raw amount of shit that was obscuring his vision. There was a maelstrom of excitement occurring and it had all seemed to surround Maggot Corpse. The vocalist had become the center of ire to the point where the adventurers had committed themselves to his slaughter.

It had become an extraordinary task to attempt thinking. The whirlwind of thoughts which actively consumed Maggot Corpse as his eyes darted in every angle and corner. The small bug that was levitating on one end of the room, pointed at the duo of band members. The alchemist that had shrunk away at the distortion of sound Shotgun Blowjob created within the cavern. Then his eyes flickered to the side at the Imperial hound. Chess pieces forming an aegis around them as they began to bark at Maggot Corpse.

The vocalist heard it through the backdrop of the chaos, a decree so authoritative that it caused something in Maggot Corpse's intestinal tract to bubble with an uncomfortable sensation. Maggot Corpse's hand reflexively reached for the microphone stand that had been displaced from him, gripping at it and bringing it toward his face. A fury had began to awaken, his eyes popping as it fixated on Luisa. The pretentious insignia, the pitiful shrieking of commands, the use of rank to dictate a superiority over others. They were the symbols of subjugation that Maggot Corpse had spent his waking hours since adolescence opposing.

"PIG! PIG! PIG!!!"

Yet he could not get the words out as Bloatfly's thumbs and fingers clamped around his trachea. Maggot Corpse needed to act, he had already let forces of "order" claim his life in one life, he would not allow himself to squander a second opportunity. In a frenzy of animation he began thrashing around, pushing against Bloatfly to free his airways. Maggot Corpse would begin trying to belt and scream toward the disheveled guitarist mounted atop him. The distorted noise and screeches inciting another spell of fury, this time it was personal, directed solely to Bloatfly Incubator. Maggot had aimed to pump Bloatfly with enough hatred to direct it toward someone else. Maggot would smack Bloatfly Incubator, trying to direct him to the path of the bug that was being hurled at them.

Maggot had developed enemies within the cave. People who were gentrified and conformed to the whims of others. Those who subscribed to rules that Maggot Corpse was inherently opposed to. There was a lot of unfinished business and ambitions that Maggot Corpse could not leave unfinished. If he had died without resolving the issues he created the way he wanted than he would have lived his second life unsatisfied. In that moment he had fought for his survival.

While the attacks against Maggot Corpse were going on, Griffin stopped running in circles and nearly buckled down to the ground. He managed to not pass out or worse due to that previous performance done by Maggot Corpse, but the result exhausted him quite a bit he took a second to recover and then remembered Aedrianna. As much as Griffin didn't like Luisa very much, he felt like he needed to thank her for helping Aedrianna, and he also felt like he needed to thank Tyrmar for dealing with that attack. However, much chaos ensued. Griffin decided not to get involved in the attacks against the singer. He angered his partner, a Millitary cadet and the Mercenary in their group, which Griffin thought was enough of a punishment. All things considered, he did warn Maggot corpse earlier that loud sounds would lead to danger. And he had other things he was worried about. Griffin ran back over to Aedrianna as quickly as he could, which was not as quick as he would be since he was still yet to recover. He tapped Aedrianna on the shoulder and asked.

    "Are you okay, Aedrianna?"

He wished he could heal or something. Or simply tell if she was injured, but he was no healer, unfortunately.

"I also have good news. I found two potential weaknesses of the bugs should we come across more..."

He trailed off after seeing and hearing how things escalated more with Maggot corpse. Griffin wasn't keen on leaving Aedrianna alone at this point. His main concern was if the commotion would bring about more mutants for them to deal with. At the very least, should that occur, he knew where to shoot, he didn't quite understand why they would be so focused on Maggot corpse when deadly mutant bugs could appear any moment. He continued speaking because he figured he needed to tell someone something.

"The mutants' eyes are a weakness, and they are also weak to fire."

If anyone had matches or a fire starter or fire magic, that would be really useful for him to know. But from the earlier display he doubted it. Griffin then waves over to Tyrmar to see if he can't get his attention.

Chaos was erupting around them and she could not handle it. She was still dizzy from whatever the rock band had just done. Her hair was sticky, she couldn't hear properly anymore. And there were giant bugs that wanted to eat them a few feet away. She felt the tears welling up in her eyes before she could help it, the lump in her throat tightening. She sniffled and wailed, even as they surrounded by the protective circle of rooks with Luisa.

"I MISS HIRUQ!"

The childish but desperate wail escaped her, but even the sound of her own voice was muffled because of the sticky stuff in her ears. She could just barely understand Luisa as she was snarling at the rock band. She just about jumped out of her skin and gave a small yelp as Griffin touched her shoulder to check on her. She had time to turn and see his mouth move, "Are you okay?" Before the large white rooks moved between them and shoved Griffin back. Aedrianna cried out as they did, not understanding why they'd done it. She wiped her eyes, blinking the tears away and swiping desperately at her ears to try and hear what Griffin was trying to say from behind the barrier of Rooks. Weak spot? Fire? Eyes? That's right, they're in the middle of a battle, she didn't have time to lose it and cry like a baby. Even if her entire body was screaming to curl into fetal position and cry. Her blue eyes flitted around scanning her surroundings. It was at that point that she saw the two that Luisa was snarling at. The undead bandmates were on top of each other, scrabbling to the true death. The sight brought a flash back of her past life. She hadn't always been a solo artist, when she'd lived on earth. Her bandmates had a falling out that put them both in the hospital, and they never talked to each other again. The nature of the bandmates relationship here wasn't exactly clear to her, but she couldn't abide the killing of fellow artists. Aedriannas eyes darted up to Luisa, then back to Griffin and the Rooks. 'Act now or forever hold your peace when they're dead girl.' And she did. With a deep breath she pushed herself off from the ground and dashed towards the struggling undead. As she did she noted with a touch of relief that she wasn't exactly leaving the protection of the rooks. Though she couldn't imagine Luisa would be happy with her getting in the way if she was planning on finishing off the two idiots. Still, she had to do something, they all needed to work together to defeat the bugs.

As she approached them, she choked back a gag reflex. The undead stench was strong, She wondered for a split second if they'd considered embalming fluid to prevent any further rot. The grunts and strangled noises of the fighting pair was muted but she could make it out. Anger rose up in her at their pointless fighting. With everything in her, she pulled her arm back and slapped both of the undead men. She could see the damage that had been done to MaggotCorpse already. Without any further hesitation, She did something that any artist had a right to be absolutely pissed about. She reached out and grabbed the guitar from Boatfly Incubators back. She did it as quickly and hard as she could, trying not to give him time to reach out with flying fists.

"Sorry but you two are Vibing all wrong here," She didn't really have time to tune the guitar or really prepare, and she only had one ear that could barely hear. The next detail to enter her racing mind, was that it was an electric guitar. How the hell did he have an electric guitar here?! It must be some sort of magic, Shit. That meant she couldn't get too far from him for it to work. No time to think, he would be going to try and kill her for touching his guitar. She put her fingers in position and started strumming the first few low chords, quick and short notes in succession.

"Look, it's the clowns who think they know
How crushing loneliness can be
You know nothing 'til you come with me"

As she spat the words out, she glared at the two writhing on the ground, trying desperately to remember everything from her past life. She hadn't played an electric guitar in over twenty years. Her fingers were clumsy, and she really couldn't hear that well. It wasn't her best performance, but that didn't entirely matter for her ability to kick in. She still didn't understand it herself, but she knew how to kick start it. A finger flew out and pointed down at the two undead, and she began to sing in a harsh and angry voice. And as she sang, a small light began to grow around her. The louder she got, the faster she played the brighter it grew until it enveloped the wounded creature below her.

"And run wild! Release your rage
Let the winds of wrath blow them away
Not gonna live in compliance-iance-iance
I'm not playin' the victim, no more
Time to go rage, let's punish them all
For their love, I'm done trying to trust
Not gonna live in compliance-iance-iance
Gonna play with fire, backlit
By the flames"

She held the last note with a scream and another harsh strum on the strings. As she finished the song though, she felt the little bit of strength she'd found in herself sapped away, feeling more weak and dizzy than before. However, hopefully, the song and healing light had helped keep anyone from getting hurt too much.

Bloatfly Incubator cared not for Maggot Corpses thrashes of violence, Maggots nails ripping flesh from bone. The streaming crimson blood clotting Bloatfly Incubators vision, ribbons of flesh peeling from the abominations mutilated face as Maggot Corpse used every ounce of strength to fight what Bloatfly planned to be his lead singers demise. The two were partners, brothers bathed in the music they played. Dying in an attempt simply break the cycle they found themselves in. Only to be reborn back into the very system they originally sought to destroy. Yet Bloatfly lashed out at his companion, digging his thumbs deeper into the mans esophagus. His gnarled teeth gritted.

For a moment it seemed nothing would break Bloatfly from his objective to slaughter Maggot Corpse. It wasn't until he felt his guitar be lifted from his being that he removed himself from Maggot corpse. It was Incubators pride and joy, the one item he kept clean, the one item he valued. Through streaks of red it was nigh impossible to see the thief that took his guitar. It wasn't until a scrawny hand wiped the blood from his brow that he watched Adrianna wield his livelihood.

Bloatfly was rabid, a caged animal willing to lash out anyone. Despite this he watched and waited for Adrianna to play and moreover finish her performance. Perhaps out of respect for the craft or respect for the instrument. Ultimately it was impossible to tell what pacified the guitarist. Nevertheless he watched the woman play, his beady eyes judging each strum of the cords. Each movement of her hands. Bloatfly stood eerily still as he watched Adrianna play.

The flow of blood seemingly slowed to a mere dripple, his black shirt darkened to reddish brown. His hair plastered to his forehead with a mixture of sweat and blood. His face tinted red, pieces of flesh gone while others left hanging from mere threads. Sinew and pieces of bone left bare.

It wasn't until the music finished that Bloatfly made any movement. A simple lick of the lips before he stepped forward. The creature towered over the woman, standing 5'11 to her 5'0. One of his hands moved to the neck of the guitar while the other grabbed the strap over her left shoulder.

Pausing for half a second Bloatfly spat. The blood that found home in his mouth and decorating his ripped apart face would find new residence on Adrianna's. What exactly this meant would be unknown except to the members of Shotgun Blowjob. Either an insult or a sign of respect would be the two most likely answers. With a yank he took his instrument back, sauntering over to Maggot Corpse. Sitting cross legged at Maggots feet. Waiting for his lead singer to regain consciousness, his guitar laid over his lap. Bloatflys calloused fingers retuning his instrument

Bloatfly Incubator was once again either unaware or unbothered by his surroundings.

Rios was actually kind of done with all of these people being idiots. He came here to kill BUGS, not deal with the antics of others. Shaking his head at the competing noises and clanking of metal. The swordsman just kind of shook his head and continued on to a deeper region of the cave. Likely the other soldiers and adventurers would arrive soon to see the aftermath of their advance party falling apart quicker than a Jonga tower. Turning on his heel and beginning a dash. Rios kept his breathing and the amount of impact his feet made to a minimum. The bugs could sense vibrations and their hearing wasn't too bad either. He hoped to take advantage of the fact that logic dictated that bugs that spent a few generations underground would slowly lose their sight. Taking a break and sitting down next to an outcropping of mushrooms. Rios began as quiet of maintenance as he could on his swords. Facing the bugs up ahead would no doubt require more of his abilities and a smidge of luck to overcome the fact he was alone right now. His less than financially secure conditions meant that he had to improvise on taking care of his weapons. The results were usually passable but could obviously be better. Standing up and strapping his weapons to his belt once more. Rios began wandering down the cavern corridors towards what he assumed would be the fight of his life with the bugs.
