Lexi stood amidst several dozen stacks of books “fascinating! So much knowledge unknown to human science and history” she was practically giddy as she read through more books, her scarab Ajax sitting on her shoulder looked as exasperated as a bug could get.
“Lexi, now isn’t the time to bury yourself in books again, the school needs you to focus, we are under attack” Ajax stated
“oh I’m sure the staff can handle it, they are elders after all, plus if they have Miss Ember helping this should be over very quick” she responded
“But she is weak, she doesn’t have a familiar so her full power is locked away from her” he replied
“Ajax, you of all people know that her familiar probably is t ready to show itself just yet, give it time” she stated
“Yes, but if she doesn’t have her full power, there is going to be a risk to her health” he added
“She knows that and she will still fight, you have little faith in our benefactor” she replied before sighing and closing her book “fine Ajax, we will go see if there’s anything we can do”
