Lillianne stopped in her tracks at the woman who was now stuck in a net in the air. Shit. How was she going to get the knife with her up there? At the same time, though, it was a hilarious sight. "Haha! That's what the new girl gets for running off with a knife. Gonna cut yourself down?" she chuckled. She saw the house the traps were surrounding. She had never seen it before, but she could give a good guess at whose it was. It was probably Day. He had been on the island for who knows how long, as least as far as she knew, and always seemed to have something creative he built going on. Wouldn't surprise her if he had built his own damn house. Although, for all she knew it could be anything, so she didn't let her guard down completely.

"C'mon, you can at least use it for this one thing before you lose it," she teased, watching the girl in the air. She thought the situation was a bit too funny to be too pissed anymore, but she was still determined to get the knife. It was all she had wanted, as of late, something solid to protect herself. She deserved it more than that girl, as far as she was concerned. No one came at the new girl, but once you had been here awhile you were fair game if you had something someone else wanted. "Let me offer you a deal, you give me the knife, I'll help you out. Show you how the island works an whatnot. Give you a jump start. Just play dumb for a few days and no one will bug you. The new kid doesn't get jumped."

Lillianne's semi-fun mood was interupted by a thump. She swung herself around, preparing to fight, but it turned out to be Nolan, who didn't seem to be trying to give her any harm. "Dammit Nolan. Watch where you're going."

On his trek back to his cabin in the thick of the island's woods, Day picked up the traces of conversation happening ahead of him. In the distance, his gaze caught the figures of Lillie and Nolan, as well as one of his traps dangling in the air above their heads. At the sight of the new girl tangled in the handmade net, peering down at her fellow islanders, Day burst into laughter, doubling over at the waist as cackles overtook his body.

"What a fuckin' gathering we have here!" he joined loudly, announcing his presence to them from behind. As far as he knew, none of them had strayed this far from the huts in the time they'd been there, which was why he'd felt entirely secure in setting up base at this site. The traps were there for this exact reason, anyways, and if they knew what was best for them, they wouldn't make it a habit to venture into his territory. "Afternoon, Lillie, Saldivar," he greeted Lilliane and Nolan, respectively, with a nod of his head. He grinned and gestured towards the net above them. "It's about time you got the hang of hunting your own game."

The new girl didn't seem too pressed at her current predicament; in fact, she appeared rather relaxed. 'This one's gonna be a character,' Day noted, squinting to peer up at her through the foliage and sunlight blocking his vision. "If I were you, I'd take up that offer, Dumpling!" he called up to her, shoving his hands in his pockets. "You've got about six hours left until the sun goes down, and they're much more suited to wait out here than you are, if we're being perfectly honest. Plus, the sooner you're all cozy and cuddly, the sooner I can invite you all inside for making the journey out here."

In all of his time on the island, the only people he had ever invited inside were Brooklyn and Jojo; not that anyone needed the details of those very private exchanges, but Jojo had spent quite a few days inside his little hillside cabin. Brooklyn was an official resident at his place, considering how close the older lady was to him and how much she liked the isolation of it all. Plus, she helped him cultivate crops and catch fish to put on their plates, both jobs he absolutely despised. Outside of those two, however, he'd never revealed to anyone where he lived, and he liked it that way. Less drama, less danger, and less responsibility for the man who greatly valued his privacy. Perhaps he was currently feeling a little spontaneous, with the new company. He was all finished with his latest project anyways, so it couldn't hurt to have a few guests for once.

Ellie could hear as more and more voices joined the one below her, although she wasn’t really paying attention to them. She briefly glanced every time a new voice spoke up, but they weren’t really her concern. At least not yet. If one of them was about to climb the tree to cut the rope that would send her crashing to the ground for the second time that day, well then that would be a problem. Her main goal now was to relax and get back some of the energy she had lost while running. She rummaged around in her sweater until she grabbed one of the water bottles and sipped at it as she laid there. Already there was a plan forming in her head. She knew exactly how she was going to get out and in her mind, it was pretty perfect. It would take a lot of effort, but she would be able to avoid the ones on the ground.

It wasn’t until two of the voices actually spoke up to her that she turned enough to respond. She regarded them silently for a moment, looking first at the woman who was chasing her and then at the man who seemed far too amused by the whole situation. “I’m sure I can manage. So no, I’m good.” She turned back away with them and sipped a little more water before putting the bottle back. She sat up as best she could and spent a couple minutes securing her jacket more securely around the items. It would be a lot more difficult to carry now, but she was confident nothing was going to fall out. She looked around her for a moment before sighing and tying her hair back in a braid and pulling the knife from her pocket only to secure it in between her waistband. “Well, might as well get this over with.” She mumbled to herself as she stretched her arms up.

She latched onto the net and pulled herself into a sitting position. Getting to the top of the net was the most difficult part. Even though there were plenty of things to grab onto and stick her feet in, the net swayed with every motion and it took a lot of strength to keep from falling back to the bottom. By the time she had poked her arms and head out the top, she had worked up quite a sweat and she had to put a lot of effort into controlling her breathing. Pulling herself the rest of the way out of the net was much easier with the one long rope used for leverage. She half sat in one of the little swoops of net with her legs wrapped around as much as she could for support. She wiped the sweat from her brow and clung to the rope to keep her from falling. She took a few deep breaths before pulling herself up into a standing position with her feet where she once sat.

She wobbled for a moment, her feet almost slipping back into the net, but she managed to keep her grip on the rope and soon pulled herself up and before she knew it, she was hoisting herself up onto the tree branch. Her legs wrapped tightly around the branch as she sat there examining her hands. Some dead skin had peeled away, but there was no bleeding and for that she was thankful. She could hear the pounding of her heart in her ears and her limbs were shaking, but the day wasn’t even close to being over. She leaned forward enough to lay on the branch and slowly pulled the net up. It was a lot heavier than she had expected it to be and she struggled quite a bit, but she eventually got it up enough to half drape it over the branch. She pulled the knife out and waggled it at the group below her before using it to cut the rope free from the net. Both were going to be extremely useful, if she could get them down. They’re much more suited to wait out here than you are. She scoffed to herself, remembering the man’s words. “Yeah, we’ll see about that.” She mumbled to herself as she tied the rope around her legs. She wasn’t about to fall to the ground after all that effort.

With all of that finally finished, she breathed a sigh of relief and reached into the net to grab at her jacket. She untied it enough to grab the water bottle again and pulled it out, taking a long drink from it as she was finally able to relax again.

Lillianne was impressed that the girl was able to get out of the net. She seemed awfully confident in her ability to survive on the island, and to be fair most people figured it out without dying or injuring themselves too much, but with that much confidence she was probably in for a rude awakening. There was no one here to hold your hand. Even in prison you got to be showed how things work around there, even if it was horribly unpleasant. Here, though, you had no one, generally. On the other hand, though, she was still stuck in the tree, which wasn't really that much better than her previous situation. Unless she was going to take a chance parkouring through the branches, she'd have to come down.

Day had arrived by then. "Nice place you got here, Day. I knew you were a handy man, but this is quite something," she said without taking her eyes off the girl in the tree. Nothing in her voice was personable or really all that kind, but she was being honest none the less. It was impressive, even though he'd been here for so long. Lillianne was growing tired of waiting for the girl, but she wasn't ready to give up the knife. It kind of ticked her off on a personal level that a new girl had gotten it, of all people. That was some bullshit, but it was how things went. You got lucky or you didn't. If someone else who had been there for a minute had gotten it, she likely wouldn't have bothered to fight for it.

"I'm trying to be nice, new girl. This isn't a place you want a lot of enemies," she said a little louder than before so she could hear it. "You gonna sit in that tree all night? At some point you're gonna get tired, or your ass is gonna hurt, or your water will run out. I can stay down here all night. My offer still stands, as it is." Lillianne was hoping it wouldn't really come to her sitting around there all night. Luckily because of the crate, she could if she needed to, but she didn't really want to. Her little shit cot sounded a lot more desirable than the ground.

Brooklyn grunted as she lifted the boar up onto her shoulders, muscles flexing as she moved. While Day had left to go fishing, she headed out to do some hunting of her own. Brooklyn would have never thought that she’d see the day where she had to hunt for her food. Stealing was one thing, and easy once you got the hang of it. The first time she’d tried to take down a boar, Brooklyn had gotten her ass handed to her. The thing had really made a fool out of her. For the longest time she’d stuck to smaller animals. Though being the stubborn thing that she was Brooklyn had continued to try and snag a boar. Her first successful skill had been a proud moment for her. Now she liked to think that she was fairly skilled. Once she grabbed her spear Brooklyn began her walk back.

The path that she took had been made from a combination of walking and hacking away at leaves. Brooklyn tried not to think of all the shit that has happened while making the path. There was the time that she’d bitten by some type of spider, luckily it had only caused her to swell up instead of killing her. She was able to trade some of her stuff in exchange for medicine. After that incident she had become far more cautious of her surroundings. By the time she made it back it was time for the weekly drop off. In the beginning Brooklyn would head over to grab whatever she could. With a thriving garden and animals to hunt, she saw no need. Though Day would usually grab a few things.

Before long Brooklyn was on the path to the cabin. As she walked closer, she could hear voices from up ahead. It was odd considering that the others didn’t really venture out so far. It was one of the reasons why she liked the cabin so much. The scene that she walked up to made her lift a brow. Brooklyn pursed her lips, her face held a glare yet she wasn’t angry in the slightest. Brooklyn looked from the girl who had managed to escape from Day’s trap, to Day himself, and then to the others. “I thought that you’d be back at the cabin by now. But you’re out here making friends.” She hefted the boar up a little more. Brooklyn didn’t pay any mind to the others, she only focused her attention of Day.

Bertille sighed as she lay down the hoodie-bag, grabbeda can and a drink and sat under the palm trees. The can had beans on it. She preferred pizza but she doubted there would be any on that crate. Opening the bottle, Bertille munched on some beans. It didn't taste so good, but it had to do. When she finished the can she went to the most important thing. Vodka. A name so beautiful, she would marry the person who had that name. She smiled and rubbed it's glass with her hand"Now it's just toi et moi, ma chéri" She said softly. Her hand moved from the bottle to the bottle cap and tried to twist it off. Her eyes widened and she gasped. There was no bottle opener or she didn't take one.

"SHIT!"She yelled, her Spanish-French accent and voice echoing throughout the island. Her beloved left her and her heart was broken. So this was how divorce felt like? She wailed internally

Nolan pushes himself up to his feet, running a hand through his hair as he mutters an apology with a sheepish smile. The new girl is very clearly trapped in a net high above in the trees. It must've been Day's; nobody else could pull off something like this. "Speak of the devil," he mutters to himself. Day appears behind the group, being his usual loud-and-cocky self. "Asshole". Taking a good look around the area, he spots a small cabin built into the side of a hill. Impressive? Sure. Does he still hate Day? Definitely. He knows that the guy has been around for a while, but hell.

Scoffing at the offers from both Lillianne and Day, Nolan crosses his arms and glances up towards the new girl. She looks far too relaxed to be in this current situation, which he found to be interesting. He swings his bag off of his shoulders, and searches for his journal. Once he's finished jotting down his notes, he glances up once again. Somehow, the new girl had managed to get out of Day's trap. "Well, I'll be damned". She could potentially be a great ally—something Nolan desperately needs.

Just as Day did a few moments before, Brooklyn appears from within the trees. She ignores everyone but her ally, which is to be expected. "Hey," Nolan's eyes waver to the giant boar, "nice catch. Where the hell did you find it?" Was he going to try searching for some of his own? No. Did he want the information anyway? Absolutely.

Taking one more glance at the new girl, she appears as though she's relaxing again. It's a strange feeling, kind of like a gut feeling, but Nolan wants to talk to her; he at least wants to know her name. Unfortunately, it definitely isn't the right time. For now, all he can do is try to appear as though he doesn't want to hurt or threaten her, which he doesn't, but appear as someone that she can trust and rely on later. He only wishes that someone did the same for him when he first arrived.

It never failed to amuse Jordyn just how quickly the other felons swarmed the crate once it dropped. But it also irritated her beyond belief; there was nothing she disliked more than elbowing others out of the way to snatch up what she wanted before someone else could grab it. This time was no different and she saw the others approaching out of the corner of her eye. Josephine, Nolan, Dante, Day. Even one of the newer additions to the island was creeping towards them in a sprint, though the young woman had to hide an amused smirk at the way she stumbled along before hitting the ground face first, clearly drunk out of her mind. Whatever, it wasn't as though Jordyn even knew her name, much less cared about her. She didn't care about anyone on this damned island except for herself. And maybe Lillianne.

Moments later, Josephine was wrenching the crate lid open. The second it moved away to reveal what was inside, Jordyn leapt forward, disregarding everyone else as she made to grab what she needed. It was nothing special, only several cans of food, bottles of water, and packages of preserved snacks like beef jerky. But it was enough to tie her over until next week's crate hit the ground. She shoved them into her makeshift bag, jaw clenching as Josephine chose that moment to throw a little greeting in Lillianne's direction. It took all the self control she had not to snap at the other woman in annoyance, though the girl at her side took care of it herself moments later.

Jordyn was backing away from the crate when Lillianne suddenly shouted, causing her to lift her head in time to see one of the new girls racing off in the direction of the forest. The curly haired woman hadn't noticed what she'd grabbed, but was rather surprised to see her young friend racing after her, her legs carrying her as fast as they could. She merely rolled her eyes, not interested in following after them, but when Josephine, Day, and Nolan all set off in the same direction, she released a heavy sigh and decided to do the same. Screw it; she needed to keep an eye out for Lillianne anyways.

It was several long minutes later when Jordyn eventually reached the spot where everyone else was gathered. She lingered nearer the outskirts of the small group, one dark eyebrow raised in amusement. "Little party going on here or what?" She questioned, the corner of her mouth lifted in a smirk as her gaze lifted to see the new girl camped out in a tree. She could see clear as day what had happened (she'd gotten caught up in one of Day's traps), but Jo said nothing about it and instead slung her makeshift bag a little more comfortably over her shoulder.

Dante had grabbed what he wanted and dipped pretty much as quickly as he could. He wasn't one for getting into any sort of conflict with the other felons and he much preferred to avoid them when he could. But that didn't mean he wasn't curious when it came to some of them. And, as he was walking away from the crate, on high alert in case anyone wanted to try something on him, he noticed Lillianne and the new girl running off towards the trees. The sight had him faltering, a brow raised as he wondered what was going on. A few other felons were following after them, albeit at a much slower pace, but it was enough to cause him to stop and consider finding out what was happening. Did he risk a potential confrontation to satisfy his curiosity?

"Fuck it," the dark haired man grumbled to himself, switching up his direction and heading off towards the trees. He could hear voices coming from within and knew most of those on the island were now gathered there. Those thoughts were only confirmed when he approached a short while later, footsteps quiet yet tense, his body fully prepared to drop everything and defend himself if the need arose. So far, however, it seemed that was unnecessary.

Dante remained silent despite his added presence to the group, not bothering to make anyone aware of his entry. They'd notice and besides, he preferred to remain on the quiet side. It was so much easier to get along with everyone that way. But he was still just as curious, interested to discover what this little gathering was all about. He knew without a doubt that it had something to do with the new girl, the one he'd seen hit the ground back on the beach. She definitely had something the others wanted, but it was only when a flash of glinting silver caught his eye that he realized what that was: a knife. Grinding his teeth, he narrowed his eyes, feeling a sudden spark of jealousy. Goddamn, he could have used a knife. But so could the rest of them. Did the new girl realize what she'd just gotten herself into? Dante didn't think so, but he wasn't about to say anything. Besides, a little island entertainment never hurt anyone. Well, okay, it did, but it never killed anyone, so why couldn't he indulge in a little of it now?

It didn't take Jojo long to find the little gathering, and even after she arrived, a few others did as well. Jojo kept her attention on Lillie and the girl in the net above them, coming to the conclusion easily that she had something Lillie wanted. A knife, she heard Lillie say. "All this excitement over a knife." She shook her head, though really, she understood. She had her own weaponry, thanks to herself, a couple drops, some things found around the island, and some help.

"Come on, new girl!" She egged her on, watching as she fought to free herself from the net. "Oh, but now, how to get down without getting jumped?" Laughing, she leaned against a nearby tree, her eyes still trained on the same pair. "Lillie, how are you going to get to her now? If you really want the knife, that is..."

Shrugging, she pushed off from the tree and glanced over at the others who had gathered. "Should we start taking bets?"

Day whistled in appreciation of the trapped girl's efforts, setting down his bucket of fish and cocking an eyebrow in curiosity as she appeared to contemplate her next move. "Absolutely wonderful that you've gotten yourself onto that branch, love; it really is, and I'm real damn proud of you, but ask yourself this: is that knife really worth spending all night outside with the green tree pythons?" he called up to her, rocking back and forth on his heels as he shot her a malice-free smile. He was a scheming bastard, and that was no secret, but he truly didn't want this chick to die on her first day on the island. She looked young and a little scared, and he was no killer unlike some of these folks.

When several other faces popped up and commented on his little oasis, Day suppressed a groan. All the traffic could only spell trouble and unwanted invasions of privacy in the future, especially since they all could now easily trace him down whenever they wanted to. That meant potential sabotage attempts, if he knew his present company at in the slightest. 'At least they don't know about the hideout,' he reassured himself, pasting on a grin and turning to face the crowd. "Rats, I've been found out. Guess I'll just have to make my traps lethal now. I wonder if I have any gunpowder left...?"

With an innocent shrug, his gaze shifted to Brooklyn, who came stumbling through the trees with a whole boar on her back. "Fuckin' ay! My warrior princess keeps me alive yet another day!" he exclaimed, exaggerated drama coating his words as he approached her to poke at the kill. "We're totally grilling out tonight. I have a new seasoning recipe I've been toying with. Sea salt, coriander, garlic, a little paprika---trust me, you'll love it." Brooklyn had always managed to score the better finds of the two, whether it be the fattest game, the rarest seeds, or the juiciest fish. Day preferred to focus his efforts on upping their quality of living, such as renovating the cabin and managing his trade shop in town. His hands were crafty and innovative, while Brooklyn's were powerful and brave.

Careful not to let his bucket of goods out of sight, Day turned back to the situation at hand, crossing his arms and sighing out of a yearning to return to his cot. "Alright, Sharkbait, here's the sitch: you've got a real long night ahead of you if you think you can outwait or outrun any of these folks down here. They're fuckin' crazy, love. You don't stand a chance." He shrugged again, resigned to the nature of his criminal company. "Which is why I'll strike you a deal, if you can see yourself trusting an international terrorist just one time. Behind you, about 20 meters, give or take, you'll find my humble abode sitting in a nice patch of a shade protected from the wilderness. Lots of food, lots of clean water, maybe a makeshift hammock or two. If you come down, we can all go have a nice, long chat with some tea and snacks without the sun toasting us all to a crisp. But, of course, you'll have to give the knife up---I'm sure I don't need to explain why, considering how you got into this position. Sound like a steal?"

Day took a deep breath, having chatted up a storm in just a few short minutes as he tended to do quite often. Everyone on the island was always so damn serious, and it drove him absolutely insane. If he didn't keep things light and civil, he didn't doubt they'd be giving Lord of the Flies a run for its money.

“Out there, where else?” Brooklyn gestured to the forest. What she being vague on purpose? Of course she was. Brooklyn didn’t plan on telling anyone, outside of Day naturally, about her little path or hunting grounds. Especially if she wasn’t going to be getting anything in return. It was selfish of her no doubt but with all the people on the island, she didn’t want to risk them hunting the game to extinction. Brooklyn knew that she was probably overthinking things and being dramatic but she didn’t want to take any chances. If he wanted he could go and find a good spot like she had.

She turned her attention to Josephine once she made her way over. Brooklyn knew her through Day. There were times when she’d heard or accidentally seen them going at it. Other than a few words between them, they didn’t interact all that much. Finally Brooklyn focused on her housemate again. She couldn’t help but roll her eyes at his dramatics. Brooklyn would never admit that he had grown on her and that she was a little fond of him. Yes, she’d take that little bit of information to the grave. Knowing him he’d take it and run with it. “You’re welcome, I see that you actually went fishing like you said you would. We’ll be eating good.” She gave him a small smile and a nod of approval. “And season it however you want, Ramsay. Ay, do we have everything that we need for cooking? If not I’ll go and it it.” Brooklyn spoke calmly as if things weren’t threatening to get out of control.

In the past Brooklyn would have never done anything like to. She was a hustler yes, but as the Vice Lords’ empire grew she had goons to do certain things for her. Fishing, hunting, and anything of the sort had been foreign to her. Thankfully she had learned that she’d have to change to survive on the island. Now she didn’t mind doing any of those things. In fact, she preferred it. It kept her body in shape and her senses on point. Speaking of senses, her ears were certainly playing tricks on her. Because surely Day hadn’t just invited them all back to cabin. Brooklyn pursed her lips but said nothing. If anyone were to try some shit well...she still had her spear, plus the boar on her back was sturdy as hell.

“Hurry it up. I want to prepare this damn thing and preserve it before it goes bad.” Brooklyn focused her gaze on the newbie and then the others. “I’m hungry as hell and I don’t know how long it’ll be until I decide to cook one of y’all instead.” Brooklyn’s face was dead serious. For all they knew she could have been some sort of cannibal. And while she didn’t like the idea of anyone else coming to the cabin, it was still his house. Though she was pretty sure this it was a bad idea.

Ellie let out a frustrated sigh and wiped the sweat away from her forehead. She stayed silent as she sat there, eventually putting her water bottle away back into the safety of her jacket. It was difficult coming up with a response, especially now that there were annoyed words wanting to spill out. There was no way this was going to end well for her. She either gave up the knife and risked her own safety or she kept the knife and made at least one enemy on her first day. Obviously, she wasn’t going to give the weapon up without a fight. If this girl wanted it so bad, then it must be a rarity and it could be useful for so many things. Plus, just like the first day of being in prison, she wasn’t going to let some Queen wannabe force her hand. If anything, she wasn’t going to appear weak, especially now that there was such a large crowd there.

“I said no and I meant it.” Her gaze was cool as it briefly shifted to the girl on the ground. “If you want it that bad, make me a real offer. I don’t want your advice. If you don’t have anything, stop pouting and get over yourself.” Her words were as icy as her stare before she turned away from the girl. If she was really going to be in the tree all night, then she needed to be ready. They already underestimated her, which was their own problem. She might be knew to that exact location, but she was not new to hardships. Sleeping in a tree was nowhere close to where she’d had to before prison. If they really thought she was going to sit in that one place for the rest of the day and night, they really were stupid.

Her eyes flicked down to the man at the mention of pythons. She hummed softly to herself as her gaze moved throughout the trees. She didn’t see any snakes, but that didn’t mean they weren’t there. It seemed those would be her biggest problem. She didn’t know anything about snakes and if this was a venomous kind, then she would be screwed. But, she knew enough about animals that if she left them alone, they would mostly leave her alone. If any of them hadn’t slithered out with all this commotion, it was a kind of safe bet that there were none in this tree. She continued looking through the trees, although now it was more to look for a path. Moving through the trees would be difficult and possibly more dangerous, but she would do it if she had to or just wait until the girl gave up. She had enough food and water to last days if she really needed to.

She took some time to cut the net into a smaller portion. It was a lot bigger than anything she would immediately need and having it smaller would make it easier to carry. Luckily for her, it was knotted in plenty of places and so cutting it wasn’t too bad. She let the pieces fall without any care for the ones below her. Once it was small enough, she untied the rope from her legs and fashioned it around her waist, making sure there was a layer of clothes between her skin and the rope. The only time she paused was when the man spoke again. A steely glare shot in his direction before she looked back at the task in front of her. Her teeth clenched together for a moment before letting out a long breath. “Pass.” She frankly didn’t want to spend time with any of them. Even if she did somehow come to like any of them, which was unlikely, they were still all criminals. She certainly wouldn’t be able to trust anyone. And this guy especially seemed sketchy. There was something behind all the smiles and spunk and she wasn't going to trust him for a second.

She slowly hauled the much smaller sack backwards until she was at the base of the branch and wedged it into a little spot where several branches met so it wouldn’t fall out. She piled the extra rope up on top of it to keep it out of reach of those on the ground, just in case. Closer to the tree now meant she could lean her whole body on the branch and use others for leg support. Certainly it wasn’t a position she could sleep in, but it was a lot more comfortable than where she was before.

Quite the crowd had gathered around the new girl now. It was irritating Lillianne. Now all these fucking people knew the new girl had a knife. Not only that but Jojo was being a little shit about it too, mocking her. As if most people standing there at the moment wouldn't want the knife too. Lillianne wondered if it was even worth it to wait there anymore. Once the girl finally made some kind of landing, it would either be a show down between herself and the new girl - which she wasn't particularly interested in - while everyone watched, or everyone would flood new girl and it would be a blood bath. How fucking irritating.

Lillie wanted to kick Day for his *counter offer*. What the hell. She had all but claimed the knife if anyone else could get it. She couldn't even see why Day would want it. Not to mention she couldn't really offer anything better than that. She doubted he had cookies in there but he did damn well have a shelter, and he was probably more equipped to take on all of them at once than anyone else on the island - except maybe Brooklyn. And for fucks sake, could Brooklyn just shut up about the damn boar? She got it, she hunted a boar and they were going to eat it. Lillianne bit her tongue though, she couldn't take on Brooklyn and that wasn't why she was here anyways.

Lillianne watched the new girl move to the base of the tree, but she didn't come down. She crossed her arms. A real deal, was it? Fair enough, she thought. The girl was smart. What would be more valuable to the girl than the knife? Advice was it, to be honest, but she was convinced she didn't need that, so Lillianne had to do better. "Alright, listen," Lillianne said, trying to choose her words wisely. "No one on this island has all that much to give, except maybe Day and Brooklyn, but even then, you're not getting luxury here," she said. "That should be pretty clear. Your best bet is to have someone on your side, someone to have your back. That's what I'm offering. You can call me a liar, and I might be many things, but I'm not that. Most of the time, anyways, but not this time. Jordyn and I are a team, and you can be in it," she glanced at Jordyn, hoping she would somewhat agree to this. "That's the best I can do. Otherwise, I'm coming up.

Nolan Borden

Lillianne's attempts at swaying the new
girl began to annoy Nolan, as well as the large
crowd surrounding them. For someone that
likes to lurk alone in the shadows, he's
somewhat in the spotlight with everyone
else now. Regardless, he finds himself
scoffing and rolling his eyes.

"This is ridiculous, Lillianne," Nolan's face
clearly expresses his irritation with the
situation, "get off your high horse and let
it go, you're not getting whatever she has.
Give her this one thing, dammit. We're all
in a much better place than she is, so
maybe it's time to call it a day and leave."

Glancing up towards the new girl, maybe she
isn't in such a bad position. She definitely
looks like she knows what she's doing
around here—something Nolan can't say for
himself. However, he still can't shake this
feeling of wanting to help her. Maybe he could
show her his mini garden he hid in the forest, or
his mini traps he sets up to kill lizards and
rabbits. After all, everyone could use a helping
hand; Nolan knows for a fact that it can't be
Lillianne or Day.

Brooklyn appeared with a boar, and Jojo once again found herself admiring the woman. She didn't know much about her, and even though they'd come across each other more than once in her stays at Day's place, they'd never had a real conversation. Perhaps one day that'd change. Perhaps not. Today probably wouldn't be that day.

Day offered the girl with the knife something; Jojo realized she hadn't been listening. The girl scuttled up the tree and closer to the trunk, and Jojo's eyes flicked towards Lillie, smirking slightly at the girls ebbing anger. "I kinda wanna see you go get it." Lowering her head, she gestured up into the tree.

"And if you're not going to, then I vote we retire this tired scene." Jojo glanced over at Brooklyn and Day. "I'm starved."

Jordyn was getting tired of this fast. Was a knife valuable? Fuck yeah it was. But was it worth all of this... bantering back and forth with the new girl? In her eyes, absolutely not. It wasn't impossible to make a wooden spear around here and that kind of weaponry would do you just fine until you managed to snag a better weapon. But maybe that was just her speaking. After all, she did possess a solid little pocket knife and had made herself several spears, which were back 'home' in her hut. It seemed, though, that Lillianne was hellbent on getting this knife. And, apparently, at the cost of adding this girl to their little group. At the sound of that, the older woman let out a scoff.

"I'm not letting her in our little group, Lillianne," she growled out, annoyance flashing across her face. "She can fucking make it on her own out here like the rest of us. I don't give a single shit what happens to her, but she's not joining us." Clenching her jaw, Jo shot an icy glare at her ally, clearly unimpressed. "It's a fucking knife, anyways. You don't need it that badly," she muttered more quietly, rolling her eyes in frustration.

Jordyn's dark gaze shifted upwards at that point, eyes landing on the new girl. Everyone was seriously beginning to get on her nerves now. She was wasting time out here, all for a goddamn knife, and she wasn't happy about it. But she knew if anything were to happen, she'd need to be here to have Lillianne's back. Though they might argue, they were allies at the end of the day, and she would defend the girl if she needed her to. But as the others began to complain and whine (or in Brooklyn and Day's case, boast), Jo felt something snap inside of her.

"Okay, all of you, shut the fuck up. Day, no one cares about your fucking cook out. Brooke, we already know you hunt, so shut your mouth. And Josephine, for fuck's sake, why do you always have to start shit? Lillianne can just forget about the fucking knife and we can all go our merry ways, Jesus. It's not that hard," Jordyn snapped, voice loud and full of anger as she glared at those surrounding her, the new girl included. "You're all seriously wasting time here."

Surprisingly, Jo found herself agreeing with Nolan, the young man who normally irritated her beyond belief. Yet, somehow, he'd actually managed to say something somewhat intelligent just now, so she found no use in reprimanding him for it. The dude had somewhat of a point.

Even after satisfying his curiosity of discovering what all the commotion was about, Dante made no move to become a part of it. Instead, he watched quietly from the sidelines, his expression occasionally shifting into one of an amused smirk or an annoyed roll of his eyes. He knew without a doubt that he wasn't nearly as smart as some of these felons, but he had to admit, this new girl seemed even dumber than him. Here she was, literally camped out in a tree, while the group of them lingered at the base of the trunk, taunting her as they waited to see what she would do. The man was genuinely curious, if he were being honest. He had no plans for the day, so it surely couldn't hurt a little to wait around and watch the fun, right?

And damn, did the entertainment deliver. For a few moments, he'd been sure the others would lose interest and disperse, but then the comments started coming. Dante got himself comfortable leaning against a tree beside him, amusement flickering across his tanned features as Day tried to reason with the new girl while Josephine taunted Lillianne. He overheard Nolan make some sort of comment, almost as if defending the new kid, to which Dante had to nod a little in agreement. Honestly? Yeah, at this point, they all may as well just let her have the knife.

But then Jordyn suddenly seemed to snap from all of her clearly pent up annoyance and the young man had to bite back a snicker as she told everyone. Oh, this was getting good. He was definitely glad he'd decided to stay after all and it showed on his face. How the others would react to literally being cursed out was beyond Dante, but he absolutely wouldn't mind witnessing it all. As much as he tried to steer clear of Jordyn, he had to admit, when she lost it, it was kind of funny. So long as he wasn't the target of her anger, of course. But seriously, the woman had no limits when it came to her anger. Right now, he wondered just how far she might go, though guessed it would likely depend on whether or not someone triggered her further. With this group of felons, that was definitely a possibility.

Brooklyn shook her head as everyone continued to bicker. The knife wasn’t even that big of a deal, especially to Day or herself. She was fine with the others jumping the new girl or the new girl fucking one of them up potentially. “Kay, I’m out.” She said. Brooklyn didn’t bother to reply to Josephine. She knew that Day would be glad to have her come over. Though if she had to endure another night of hearing them screwing, she was gonna snap and do something drastic. Brooklyn turned to leave but paused when she heard someone address her. The young woman paused for a moment, wondering why she was being tested at this time of day. Slowly she turned around to face Jordyn, she didn’t know much about her well except for the fact that she was a huge cow apparently.

“How about you come over here and make me shut my mouth? Since you’re feel real bold right now.” Brooklyn tilted her head. She didn’t know what was wrong with the girl but she didn’t want to catch her hands. “I mean you can easily just walk the fuck away? Instead of complaining and whining like a lil bitch. I’m sure that your girl can handle herself.” Brooklyn stated with a dark glare on her face. Her body was tense as she watched the other girl. For a moment she thought back to when she was in high school and the times she’d meet some girls in the bathroom to throw hands, good times really. Brooklyn turned her attention to Day. “Obviously no one wants to accept your invitation… so fuck em, except jo of course.”

Brooklyn spotted Dante and nodded slightly in greeting. He was someone that she got along with for the most part. He was soft as hell but considering who she was and had been surrounded by in her life, it wasn’t that bad.

Day's head snapped towards the screeching voice that began chewing each of them out individually, an unamused Jordyn catching his attention in a less than positive way. While he had been killing time out of boredom with this new girl and her knife drama, he didn't respect the brazen rhetoric being tossed his way. He wasn't a killer, not in the slightest, but the crimes he'd committed far outweighed the severity of murder and there was no telling exactly what the man was capable of. Day had lived his entire life in secret, a double agent of the highest degree--- his mental soundness hadn't been evaluated in a long, long while.

Before he could say anything that would give away his mess of a psyche, however, Brooke cut in and stood right up to Jordyn. The chick clearly didn't know her limits, considering her challenging tone towards the criminal with the most seniority on this island, and anyone with a brain in their skull knew that could only spell trouble. "I was just thinkin' the same thing, love," Day voiced to Brooke. He had initially been somewhat worried about the safety of his home now that its location was public knowledge, but he had faith in his defenses. Most of them weren't lethal, but the others had no way of knowing which ones were. The terrorist had forged countless explosives in his lifetime, after all. "You can join if you want, Jo, but if the rest of you step near this place, your arms and legs might just find out what a long distance relationship feels like." He turned to Lillie, gaze flickering between her and Jordyn. "And get a muzzle for your little bitch baby friend, yeah? She's right fit to talk herself straight into a shark pit."

With that, Day spun around on his heels and headed straight for the cabin, grabbing his bucket of supplies on the way. There was something unknown he needed to get out of his system, an itch too intangible to reach, and if he stuck around these kids any longer he might mistakenly take it out on them. For now, he'd leave the fish for Brooke to do with them as she saw fit for dinner while he spent some time in the cave behind the cabin, calming himself down. He wasn't one to act on impulse, but the invasion of privacy triggered something feral in him that needed to be vented in a secluded area. The man had been rather hands-off with the other felons during his time on the island, letting them work things out without revealing to them the extent of his progress, but starting tomorrow he'd amp up his security in a show of force to intimidate any particularly spunky characters from getting too bold.

Things on the ground were taking a turn for the worst and Ellie wasn’t sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing. More than one person on the ground even took her side, which she found surprising. She assumed that everyone down there would be out for themselves. But hey, she wasn’t going to complain. She couldn’t help but let out a mirthless laugh at this Lilliane girl. She had tried so hard to come up with that offer only to have her supposed partner outright refuse to go along with it. That at the very least made things easier for her. She very easily crossed Lilliane and her friend off the list she was willing to trust. She was sure everyone was a liar, but if you were going to boldly come out and say that you were, then Ellie wasn’t willing to even consider trusting them to any degree.

When that one guy left, what was his name? Day? Her eyes followed him as he walked back to his cabin. She was sure that if she had already passed two traps, there would be a lot more closer to the tiny house. She mapped out the path he took in her head, just in case she ever needed it. She wasn’t typically a thief and would never really want to steal from anyone, but this was about survival now. If it came down to stealing or dying, she would do what she needed to do. As soon as he was out of sight, she turned back to the situation at hand. They had all but stopped paying attention to her. She didn’t bother responding to Lilliane. It was obvious she had just lost her only bargaining chip. So, she instead looked for an escape route. She didn’t really want to head back to the ground. With the rope and net now in her possession, it would take some time and she was bound to be noticed by someone. Then it would be all over. So really she was left with two options. Try to navigate the trees or stay put and hope they all left.

Neither was really an option she was fond of. If she tried to leave, there was no way she wouldn’t be followed. She would have to move slow at best and then also ran the risk of doing something wrong and ending up on the ground anyways and in a lot of pain. If she stayed there, it was a waiting game. She would have to outlast everyone was there. She knew she could do it, but it wouldn’t be ideal. She would have to ration the water and the food for a week at the latest and even then that was a stretch. She thought she could do it, but she would also be miserable. But, she found herself out of options, really. With a small huff, she crossed her arms and made herself as comfortable as possible. She could be in for a long wait.

It was easy to see that she had pissed off both Brooklyn and Day with her comments, which had definitely been her goal when she'd snapped at them. They'd both been annoying her, so why couldn't she have a little fun and taunt them? But what Brooke said next had the younger woman bristling with irritation, brown eyes narrowed as she glared back at her. For several moments, she contemplated whether or not to reply or to just let it go completely. But then her sensitive ears caught what Day had muttered to Lillianne about her and she couldn't help herself any longer. The anger was too much.

Before anyone could anticipate her next move, the young felon was lunging towards Brooklyn, her hand making sure her pocket knife was in easy reach as she did so. Oh but she wasn't going to use that just yet. She'd turn to it when she needed to. "Fuck you, Brooklyn," Jo growled out, before swinging her right fist and letting it connect with the other woman's nose. There was a tiny crunch that filled the air as her fist made contact, but that only fuelled Jordyn further. She was so beyond frustrated with all of these people right now, for being annoying, for wasting her time, for saying things that simply didn't matter.

Of course, the fact that Jordyn hadn't been able to (or simply didn't want to) snag her medication in two weeks wasn't helping her anger management issues. That was all evident in the way her left hand then made to connect with Brooklyn's side, hoping to at least knock some of the air from her lungs. Had Jo been thinking clearly, she would have recognized the fact that Brooklyn could easily beat her in a fight, but right now, she wasn't thinking. Only letting her emotions get the better of her as she took it out on Brooklyn.

“Thank fuck.” Brooklyn was glad that Day had rethought his little get together and the fact that he was increasing security was fine with her. All the more protection against potential thieves. Brooklyn couldn’t help but snort at Day insult. “Bitch baby.” She shook her head. Brooklyn made a move to follow Day But was stopped by a crazed girl lunging at her. Brooklyn had no time to counter as the animal on her shoulders hindered her moments. She had no choice but to take the hits, grunting when Jordyn’s fists made contact. Instead of moving back like her instincts warned her too, Brooklyn moved forward quickly. She dropped both the boar and her spear. Brooklyn picked up the spear swiftly and placed it in its strap. “I’m going to fuck you up.” She growled. Brooklyn could feel some blood leak from her nose and that only fueled her rage.

Her hand shot out quickly, grabbing onto the thick and curly hair on Jordyn’s hair. Brooklyn yanked with all that she had, hoping that she pulled some hair out along the way. With her free hand she reared back and punched the younger woman squared in the eye. Brooklyn threw her away, creating space between them. The woman was light on her feet as she threw heavy punches towards Jordyn’s face. Brooklyn sent a punch towards Jordyn’s stomach. She didn’t bother to hold her strength back.

Lillianne sighed through her nose. They were right. It wasn't really worth all this, and there was no way she'd actually become a team with the new girl. Even if she gave it a good try, it wouldn't work. It was obviously a stupid offer, but what else did she have? Nothing. The others reactions and words were getting on her nerves. She knew that maybe she had too much invested in this stupid knife, but they didn't have to be such dicks about it. That was what you got here, though.

Things were taking a turn, though. Lillianne was about to spit something back at Jordyn, which would have been mostly harmless between the two, but the others beat her to it. That was not okay, not harmless, and while Lillianne knew they couldn't take on Day and Brooklyn, she really couldn't let them talk shit to the only person she had some kind of "good" relationship with on the island.

"MotherFUCKER," Lillianne yelled, the fight breaking out within moments, too fast for her to stop it before it had happened. It wasn't that Lillianne wouldn't fight, but she avoided it, especially with someone like Brooklyn who had literally just caught her own fucking boar. "JORDYN," she yelled, trying to get between the two. "It's not worth it!" she was definitely risking taking a hit here, and getting injured was a pretty shitty thing on this island, but there was no one else to stop them - no police or anyone with authority. They could kill each other if they wanted to, which was a lot easier around here with a lack of antibiotics and treatment.

"Stop! For fucks sake," she screamed, using her body to push Jordyn away from Brooklyn. "Let's just go, okay! Let's fucking go." Lillianne was pissed, one because she was giving up on the knife girl, which felt like shit when she had made this whole big deal about it, but she wasn't about to climb that fucking tree anyways, and it wasn't like she could stay down here when Brooklyn and Jordyn were going to kill each other for some stupid fucking words. She grabbed Jordyn's arm, trying to pull her away from Day's house, hoping that Brooklyn wouldn't come at her or Jordyn wouldn't try to keep fighting.

Day had almost made it back onto his front lawn (or rather, the patch of mismatched weeds that he liked to consider his lawn) when a commotion in the direction of the other islanders caught his attention. At first glance, it appeared to just be another brawl over resources, a daily occurence at which he wouldn't spare another glance; upon further inspection, however, the familiar figures of Brooklyn and Jordyn tearing at each others' throats set off alarm bells in his brain. Knowing the older lady, she'd have no problem severely injuring her opponent if it meant teaching a lesson in seniority.

Instead of getting between the two like Lilliane was attempting failing to do, Day simply jogged back half of the way and watched, curiosity outweighing his moral compass by a longshot. It had been a long while since he had witnessed Brooklyn really go in on someone like this, the last time being on the recieving end himself. Their relationship had, of course, improved since then, but shivers still ran down his spine whenever he reminisced on the viciousness that woman could attack with.

"No point in stepping in, love," he commentated from a safe distance. "They've got to settle this in their own bloody way. In the wise words of McElroy, 'We can do whatever sins we want! There's no god here to observe this!' Gotta love being off the grid." Day chuckled humorlessly to himself, already daydreaming about the boar they'd be feasting on tonight once Brooklyn was finished maiming the poor girl.
