In the world of Fated players are able to assume the role of one of the following types of beings, each of whom has their own special abilities and benefits while also having their own drawbacks and limitations.
Fae: Sidhe (Wood), Dwarves (Stone), Vila (Air), Fossegrim (Water), and Kitsune (Fire). Each a tied fundamentally to the some part of the natural world.
Afflicted: Vampires, Werewolves, and Bone Eaters. Each of whom originated from a powerful curse placed on mortal-kind.
Spirits: Angels, Demons, and Ghosts. Naturally incorporeal beings tied to one of three realms Heaven, Hell, and the Earth
Mortals: Humans, 7th of 7th, Seers, Mediums, and Sorcerers. Either a baseline mortal or a genetic offshoot from the main branch.
Half-Breeds: Dhampir, Nephilim, and Cambion. Offspring resultant from the mating of a mortal and one of these three Vampire, Angel, or a Demon. Each born with their own inherent strengths and weaknesses.
IC: In the whole of history, there have been many exodus's but only two to involved the hidden world. The first was when the Gods took their leave of this world. Legend has it that the different pantheons pooled their respective power and separated their divine realms from the earth. Choosing to act only through their faithful and no longer directly. To most scholars of myth this era was known as the Twilight of The Gods. The second exodus on the other hand, took place at the end of the Dark Ages. Before that time man and myth had walked the earth side by side and even the most inhuman of creatures had some place that they could dwell. But something changed... many suspect that it was the rise of The One Faith or perhaps it was mortals finally choosing to stake their claim on the world but in any case they struck. Driving the the non-mortal's from their ancient refuges and sanctuaries, hunting them down like beasts. The one thing that saved them from extinction was the Gods having left enough of their power behind to aid them in an exodus of their own. Drawing on their innate powers and amplifying it through the remaining echos of deific power they were able to craft a realm apart from the mortal plane, a new sanctuary. Following these mass leavings, the supernaturals that remained banded together for form a council who proceeded to create a series of laws known as The Accords. These laws govern the hidden world and introduced the law of secrecy, designed to keep the mortal world ignorant of the creatures that walk among them and dwell in the few unexplored wilds that remain.
OOC: The setting is modern day and will primarily take place in Seattle, Washington. To some extent it is a slice of life rp in that each of the characters for the most part is supposed to be doing their best to make it in a modern world while maintaining the secrecy of their true nature from the vast majority of the mundane mortal world. There can and in time will be some overarching stories and events that keep things moving as well as help to change the landscape of the world as the characters know it but that's up coming right now I'm looking for serious players to help me get this started and off of the ground. All of that being said to be fair at least initially there is going to be limit to just how many of each species is available for play to help and keep some form of balance as well as to showcase what each type of being is capable of and those spots are offered on a first come first serve basis.
