So, I'm unsure if this should go in modern/realistic or fantasy.
The last animal you touched is now your familiar. The two of you share thoughts, emotions, pain, can speak with each other, and will die together. Whoever's lifespan is shorter will grow to match the longer lifespan. If the last animal you touched was more recently touched by someone else, and thus is someone else's familiar, it will go to the last animal you saw or interacted with that isn't someone else's familiar.
No one's sure why this strange phenomenon has happened, but surely someone will get to the bottom of it. That someone, of course, being you. Because of the familiar you've been paired with, the government has employed you and the others in the group to find the cause of this and, if possible, reverse it.
Of course, there are people who don't want this reversed. They're rogues, outcasts, animal lovers, anyone really. We've nailed the core group of dissenters down to a collection of five people. Surely, they will come after you and your group while you're on your mission. Be wary, and be prepared.
- This is a ten person role play. That is, ten, including myself. One character per person.
- There's five people to be in the group searching for the cause and a solution to the problem, and five trying to stop the first group.
- All ten have unusual familiars. You won't see your normal house cat or golden retriever on either group. Get creative, but stay realistic.
