Elementals - The Elementals stopped evil before. Can they do it again?

Story

You live a perfectly normal life a normal small town. You live with a normal family, and hang out with your normal friends in normal places. You go to a normal school, and get normal grades. You're a normal teenager.

Until you turn 16 anyway.

In a prophecy created hundreds of thousands of years ago, it states that 16 teenagers, 8 boys, 8 girls, will come of age and step into their powers. With these powers, it said, they will fight together...

Ice sighed, looking out the window. In her imagination, she was seeing snow. Tons of it. So much, in fact, that school was cancelled for two days. She was outside, playing in the snow, having a snowball fight with Ash. But, in reality, it was the end of summer, the beginning of fall. Open house was yesterday, so she had her schedule. School was starting next year. She was stepping in as a Sophomore. She wasn't sure what to do now. During the winter, she was always so excited because it always snowed during the winter in Waterbridge. It was really why she loved living in the small town. She grabbed her phone and glanced at the clock. It was 12:24. "Mom! I'm leaving!" She called. Her mother wished her farewell, and she grabbed her thin, black jacket. She put her phone in the back pocket of her white shorts, then pulled her jacket on over a white graphic tee. She pushed her feet into her black Converse, chuckling at her outfit as she jogged from the neighborhood to the Lake.
Ash leaned against the pine tree he and Ice always met at. They had these secret meeting days only their parents knew about. They met here twice a week; once on Saturday and once on Tuesday. He wasn't sure why they met on Tuesday, other than to talk about what they're struggling with or what problems they've got. And, even then, it's mostly Ash complaining about things with his jobs and having to juggle his family, school, and three jobs. Ice never really complains about anything. Sometimes, he'd catch himself wondering if she really had anything to complain about, or if it was just that Ice didn't trust him as much as she made it seem. Both were very possible, but, when he'd asked her about it, she told him that she really didn't like "leaving boulders on peoples' shoulders" as she put it. In other words, she didn't want to burden people. That really made the most sense. He put his phone out of his jean pockets and looked at the time. 12:30? She was already on her way.

With these powers, it said, they will fight together to stop a great evil coming over the land.

So, what if, because of this prophecy, your normal life fades away?

Now that you're an Elemental, and you've stepped into your powers, you're seeing things others can't. Like creatures that try to fight and kill you once the sun goes down. Is this the beginning of the evil?

As an Elemental, you must train yourself and become stronger, both physically, mentally, and with your powers. Once you've reached the highest your training will allow, your powers will be stronger than Nature's own elements.

But here's the trouble; no one can know about your powers. Not your family, or your closest friends. You've got to play off your normal life, and not let anyone see your tattoo. You still have to go to school, but things may go a bit easier on you. Especially since your Principal knows everything about your position and about the prophecy. Still; if you can't play the part, you can't win the game.

So now you have a choice. Do you train and fight, preparing yourself to stop this "great evil"? Or do you stand off to the side, too afraid to step up? Those are your choices.

Choose wisely.

Basic Rules

  1. No god-modding! Even the Elementals have weaknesses.
  2. Cussing is just fine, but if someone gets bothered by it, we'll have to calm down with it.
  3. You can only have ONE Elemental! Don't be power-hungry.
  4. Obviously, there can only be 16 Elementals. 8 of them MUST be boys and 8 of them MUST be girls. First come first serve!
  5. Perfect people don't exist. Especially not here!
  6. You can make normal humans. Don't think that just because the Elemental spots are taken, you can't take part!
  7. Elementals' personality depends on the element. For example, fire Elementals should be opinionated and short-tempered, while nature Elementals should be kind and friendly.
  8. Please be active. If you have to take a short leave or something, let me or another know. Especially if you play a key part in the roleplay!
  9. No detailed sex scenes please. If you must, use "Fade to black" or something like that.
  10. This is all going to add up to be one huge, epic battle. It's got to build up like a story, so often one-liners are a no-no!
  11. Don't worry about the bad guy! I've got it under control!

Elemental Rules

There are 8 elements:

Light

Wind

Ice

Water

Nature

Earth

Fire

Darkness

There are two of each element, each element having one boy and one girl.

The full moon after an Elemental turns 16, she/he fully steps into their powers, and they get a tattoo on their shoulder symbolizing their element. Because of this, please make your characters 16+.

Elementals also have Partners and Pets. An Elemental's Partner is an Elemental of the same element, but of the opposite gender. An Elemental's Pet is quite different. At first, they are tiny little creatures that possess the same element that their Elemental controls. They're weak, just like their Elemental, until they fight those dark creatures with you and eat the mana they leave behind. Then, they get stronger, and bigger. It's a good thing no one but other Elementals can see them.

Otherwise, just have fun with this!

Blair jumped out of bed, kicking and screaming. Nightmares. Again. He ran to the bathroom and looked at himself in the mirror, making sure it was still him, he was still Blair. He splashed cold water on his face, his heart still racing, but his breathing slowing down. Touching the mirror he looked into it pleadingly, his body racking with sobs.

After a minute he straightened and washed his face again. He headed back to his room zombie-like and began to pick out an outfit. Black snapback, black t-shirt, gray hoodie-jacket, black jeans, studded belt. He looked like a pretty ordinary teen, which was a good thing for him. He walked through the kitchen on the way to the door, and grabbed a granola bar that was conveniently laying on the counter. At the door he pulled on and laced up some black Nike high tops.

Blair didn't wear black as a "statement to society", he wore black because it described him. It always had.

He decided to go out and walk around, people watch, like he always did. And so he left the house without another glance back.

Ice stopped jogging at the hill that led up to she and Ash's meeting place. She made her way up the hill slowly, rubbing her shoulder nervously. She'd been contemplating whether or not to tell Ash what had happened. It had happened on a full moon months ago, after her birthday, but she hadn't said anything to anyone. She was afraid that, if she told anyone, they'd call her crazy. And word spreads fast in Waterbridge, since it's so small. She didn't even really know who to trust. Before she got to the top of the hill, Ice dropped her arm from her shoulder. She wouldn't tell him today; she wasn't ready. "Hey, Ash! Sorry if I'm late." She greeted him with a wide smile, sitting down on the rock she always sat on. It was shaded by the big pine tree, and was flat enough to be comfortable sitting on.

Ash looked over at Ice, smiling back at her. "You would've been had you not come over the hill when you did. You know what happens when either of us is late." He chuckled. They'd made it a rule that, if either of them was late, even if it was only minute, they'd push the late person into the lake, no matter what season it was. He laughed as he watched Ice pale. "You weren't late! Don't worry about it. You wouldn't melt, anyways! What's the big deal?" He asked harmlessly.

Ice looked at the lake. The deal was that, now, she knew she'd freeze the water she touched. She knew she didn't have control over her powers yet. Which sucked, since she's had them for about 8 months now. But it wasn't just that she'd freeze the water. She's also become colder to touch. Her mother told her that, after brushing her hair and braiding it for her. She knew that, if Ash touched her bare skin, he'd get suspicious. "Ah. It's just getting cold! I know I like the cold, but I don't like hypothermia!" She giggled back.

Hikari sat up in bed brushing her blonde fringe away from her eyes. It was Saturday today so Hikari would probably help her mum and dad in the cafe and then paint something on her new set of canvases she'd had for her sixteenth birthday last week. She sighed and turned on the fairy lights, relaxing in their soft glow. Hikari pulled on a white blouse and copper yellow pinafore before pulling on a pair of long white socks and shiny black t bar buckle up shoes. Hikari's style was retro and young but she had always worn this kind of stuff. She brushed her back into a half ponytail then fastened it with an angelic white ribbon. Hikari ran down the stairs to the cafe to grab a snack before it opened.

" Hello Kari!" Her mum called as she walked downstairs.

" Morning mum!" Hikari answered. This was going to be a long day.

Blair was walking down the sidewalk when it appeared. By it, he meant a shadow, a demon, standing in front of him like he summoned it. No one else seemed to see it, only Blair, and a few pedestrians walked right through it. But it was still there, just watching Blair. He didn't know whether to scream or cry or lash out.

He covered his eyes with his hands and willed it away. He condemned it to wherever it came from, and wished it would never return. Blair felt like a little kid. After a minute, he separated his fingers and peeked through them. It was still there. He suddenly realized that he had no idea how to control these things that had happened to him.

It started with the nightmares. Nightmares of dark, dark things. They happened frequently, and came more often. Sometimes Blair didn't know if he was sane, how could anyone dream up these horrible things again and again without being crazy? But then things got worse. Sometimes he would look at his hand, or arm, or face in the mirror and notice a dark, shadowy spot. It would linger for a few seconds before dissipating. Now these shadows were appearing. What is happening?

Hikari had had a normal sort of day. First she had sorted out a fight between two old ladies in the cafe then went upstairs and painted a picture of an angel on one of her canvases then gone to bed.

Hikari woke up breathing heavily. She'd had the dream again. She'd be standing on the sun watching the world seeing all the bad things people were doing but not being able to help them it was horrible. Hikari's eyes adjusted to the darkness and she started to feel her heart beating faster. Hikari hated the dark more than anything else. She woken up from one nightmare into another only a real one this time. Hikari look towards the chink of light coming from behind her curtains and fumbled for her fairy light switch. She tries to calm herself down but the panic was too strong.

" Mum, Dad?" She called her voice sounding loud and scared in the silent house. She could'nt hear either of them or her husky puppy, Paddy. Then the lights went out. Now Hikari's room was in total darkness. This was probably the scariest thing that had ever happened to her. Hikari felt hot and her forehead was wet with sweat. And Hikari saw a shine, a soft warm glow coming from her left shoulder. Shocked, Hikari peeled back her sleeve to reveal the most amazing thing she had ever seen. It was a golden sun shining golden yellow on her skin. The soft tendrils snaked down her arms till her hands too were glowing. Hikari had always wanted something like this to happen to her and now it had she was terrified. Holding her haands outward the light seemed to flow out of her hands snaking round into a perfect sphere. Hikari stared at it for a minute in awe and then as she touched it , the ball of light seemed to fade into the darkness. Then Hikari fainted.

When Hikari woke up the next morning everything seemed normal. But then she rolled up her sleeve and there it was a perfect golden sun. It has most definitely not been a dream.

Jay, resting on his back, laid in the middle of a small forest just outside of town. He spent most of his spare time there, simply watching the scenery and daydreaming. It was a peaceful and comforting place for him.

He suddenly heard a rustle to his left. Very slowly so as not to alarm the noisemaker, Jay tilted his head to look. A young doe serenely walked up to one of the trees and paused. She forlornly looked up, still unaware of his presence, and tried to stretch up to reach an elderberry on one of the branches. To her disappointment, she was just a few inches short.

With a small smile, Jay raised his hand as quietly as he could and motioned downward. The branch creaked and tilted down in response. The doe jumped in surprise and watched it suspiciously, but after a moment she reached for the berry that was now within her reach and nibbled at it.

Jay watched her silently, relishing the beauty of the scene. A little over a year ago he had attained a strange ability; he could manipulate plants however he wanted. It was strange and even a little unsettling at first, but then he realized that he felt closer to nature than ever before. He had started to practice everyday, but never told anybody as he knew nobody would believe him. Now, in the present, he was able to order plants to bend to his will without lifting a finger--however, it was much easier when he did.

Naturally, he still wondered about it every now and then. What it was, why he had it, where it came from...but in the end he was just happy to have it, even if for little things like helping out a hungry deer. He was perfectly content for it to remain a mystery and just go with the flow.

Ice watched as Ash left. She hadn't told him anything. He said he'd be back later; every Saturday, a high school jock would throw a party at the lake. She and Ash would always be there just for something to do. But now that Ice was left alone with nothing to distract her, she felt curious about her powers, and scared. She made her way down to the lake, closer to the forest where no one would see or hear anything. Just to make sure, she looked around. Then, she kneeled over the shore of the lake and dipped her finger in the water. She felt her body temperature drop tremendously, and she noticed the white snowflake on her shoulder began to glow. Soon, the water surrounding her finger turned to ice. She gaped in surprise, then pulled her finger out of the water, willing her tattoo to stop glowing. It did, and the water turned back to its liquid form. She panted in surprise, but that wasn't the best thing yet. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw a small, shadow-like creature. She turned and looked at it coldly. It was about three feet tall, with a black mist floating around its black, solid form. It grinned at her, revealing rows and rows of white, sharp teeth. She let out a piercing scream, unable to contain it, and turned tail and ran deep into the forest behind her. She heard the thing running behind her, trying to catch up. She panted with the effort, but tried to run quietly so the thing lost her when she went of out sight. She tripped over a root and rolled into a clearing, scaring a doe, and hitting her head on something sharp. Even though she was in pain, and her vision was blurry, she tried to get up and run. She failed, collapsing. She was dizzy and lightheaded. She looked around as she tried to stand once again, and caught sight of a teenage boy laying on the ground nearby. With her trauma, however, all she saw was that shadow-thing. She backed into a tree trunk, panting in fear. She blinked a few times, and saw that it wasn't that monster. She panted all the same, however, because she couldn't see a thing. She put her fingers up to her head and pulled them back; blood. "Ow." She hissed.

Ash was walking down the street, his hands in his pockets. He could tell something was wrong with Ice today, but she didn't say anything. Probably another "boulder". He thought. He wished she'd just share her problems with him instead of keeping them cooped up. It wasn't healthy at all. He looked up from the sidewalk and saw a guy dressed in all black, standing in the middle of the sidewalk. He frowned, then walked over to his side to make sure he was okay. He looked a little pale. "Hey. You okay?" He asked politely. He knew this was none of his business, but something about this guy concerned him.

"Mornin' Grann" Were the first words that Tess had uttered as she got up and began her daily routine. It always started with her foster mom, whom Tess called Grann, rapping on the teen's door. Then the nevadan pulled on a loose white undershirt, soft jeans, and a comfy chestnut jacket. Though she skipped out on actual shoes and instead slipped on a pair of leather sandals, a peculiar thing, especially since the weather was considerably chilly today. But Tess hated closed toed shoes, always feeling like they were to confined. Which if you think about it, made sense due to the fact that Tess had unceasingly been in the open areas of the world rather than indoors.

After the basics were out of the way, the girl trampled downstairs, quickly grabbed a snack, which she shoved in her bag for later, and jostled out the door. Grann stared at Tess in awe as she did so, never had she known someone who was so proficient at getting out of the house as Tess. She wasn't naturally a fast girl, but hated being indoors so much that it would make her fast. So as Tess touched the cobble path that led away from the house she had lived in for four years it was immediate alleviation. The rest of the walk to the park where she was heading was fairly slow in comparison. That is until Tess noticed a girl from school walking towards the lake nearby.

Naturally, the 18 year old wasn't a curious person, but for some inexplicable reason Tess felt a sudden urge to trail the other girl. Surveying the forest edge around the body of water, Tess found herself a good place to watch what was happening. At first everything seemed quite uninteresting, but when the water immediately turned to a shimmering white ice Tess's jaw dropped. She had been able to use her powers for 2 years now and while still not anywhere close to great at controlling them, she was good enough to use them at will without creating incidental potholes in the ground. Although, Grann's backyard had not been spared the decency of being holeless while Tess had trained. Even now, whenever Grann noticed the gaping craters in her yard from training sessions gone wrong Tess still had to put up a facade and blame it on neighboring coyotes. So Tess thought she had seen it all, never believing that there were others like her, people who could alter the state of objects around them. Then Ice froze over the water. Now Tess didn't know what to think, but now she did know that her spying had definitely been worthwhile.

Suddenly, a scream came out from the woods behind her. "Crap...I shouldn't have let my mind stray like that..." Tess grumbled softly under her breath and ran to the noise. The pale girl stood on the side of a large clearing, backed against a trunk, one hand lightly touching the stream of blood coming off her forehead. Then in the middle of the glade was a boy, handsome and laying down on the grass. Tess approached the now bleeding teen and held out a hand as if she was going to help, but decided against it for now and rested her arm back at her side. However, as she made the motion her sleeve on the jacket pulled up a bit and the mountain tattoo of her element became apparent for a split second. "Are you okay? I saw you run in here and I thought you might be hurt..." Tess asked calmly.

Ice saw the tattoo on the girl's arm. She was still disoriented and dizzy, and seeing the girl's tattoo put dark spots in her vision. "I-I don't... Know..." She murmured slowly, very lightheaded.

Jay rose to his elbows in surprise when someone came stumbling into the forest and backed against the tree trunk. He was so startled that he didn't move until another girl appeared and pointed out that she was hurt. He rose and stood, carefully as if she too were a scared wild animal.

"You are bleeding." Jay tentatively pointed out. Blood was leaking from her head from a a small gash. He pulled a handkerchief out of his pocket and slowly approached her. He paused just before he touched her; even if she was too delirious to answer properly, it was only polite to ask. "May I?"

Ice wanted to shake her head; she hated when strangers touched her. But she nodded. She was glaring at the both of them coldly, skeptically. She wished Ash was here. She would be much more comfortable. She blinked again, but her vision didn't clear any.

Glad that he had permission, Jay slowly pressed the handkerchief against the wound. It wasn't the best, but at least he could put pressure on it to help stop the bleeding.

"You'll be just fine." he murmured softly, keeping a reassuring tone due to her icy look. "I'm Jay. Do you mind telling me who you are?" he stated, wanting to get her mind off of whatever it was that seemed to be bothering her.

Ice blinked again. She was getting a headache. "Ah. Blair. I-I'm Blair." She murmured softly, almost as if she were shy. But it was really just that she didn't trust them. She wasn't sure about the girl with the tattoo; did that mean she was like Ice? Or was that just a tattoo she got inked on? Either way, she didn't know anything about either of them, so she had the right to be a bit skeptical, didn't she?

"It's nice to meet you, Blair." Jay said, smiling gently. Good, at least she was well enough to remember her name. He still thought that it might be a good idea to get her off of her feet though. She still seemed a little distrusting of them; he assumed it was because she was injured and surrounded by two strangers. "Maybe it's a good idea for you to sit down. Head wounds can be a little hard to handle, I'm sure."

Ice shook her head slowly, gingerly. "No. I... I have to go home." She argued, taking a shaky step forward. Her dizziness tripled, and she fell to the side, leaning on something solid. It seemed to be Jay, the stranger. "Ugh. My head..." She complained, putting a hand to her pounding temple.

Tess frowned at at the injured girl, contemplating on what to do with her. If she didn't get some better medical attention the wound could cause her to have a concussion, but on the other hand, if she did leave, Tess wouldn't get a chance to ask Blair about the weird anomaly that had occurred at the lake. So the earth elemental took a step away from Blair to give her some room and essentially agreed with Jay.

"Look Blair, Jay is right. You need to sit down and take it easy for a bit or else the wound could get worse from too much movement...Not to mention that you can't even walk straight. Oh and I'm Tess by the way." With a glance towards the direction that Tess had been walking before seeing Blair on the lake's bank, Tess decided to bring up what she had just saw, but to inch towards the conversation. She was unsure yet why Jay had been in the forest and was also suddenly curious on him as well. Was he just like any other normal human or could he do things also?

"Speaking of which, why were you running and screaming anyways?...I saw you at the lake then you sprinted in here, but why?"

Ice paled again, trembling, at the mention of why she was running. She didn't know why, to be honest, the thing scared her so bad. But she was sure to have nightmares tonight. "Th-There was this monster... It was chasing me into the forest. I-It just stopped!" She felt like a crazy person trying to explain what caused her trauma. But what she was now was paranoid, just waiting for the monster to come jumping from the underbrush any second. She shook her head then, trying to ignore it.

Hikari walked down the high street down to the woods she needed a little time to think about the thing that had happened only two days ago. She stared yet again at the place where under her coat she new the tatoo would be. She had'nt told anyone yet, she just felt like she shouldn't and besides no one would believe her. Hikari ran into the woods seeing a beautiful clearing filled with dappled sunlight. She walked into and held out her hands willing for it too happen. She'd done it twice now and it was certainly not very reliable! Hikari felt her body warm up and her shoulder start to glow, spreading the beautiful light throughout her body. Aiming her hands to the ground, Hikari concentrated and sure enough the yellow glow appeared and streamed down to join the light on the ground. Suddenly a twig snapped and Hikari spun round. A deer walked past only a few metres away. Then Hikari heard voices coming from the other side of the lake. She ran round silentley curious of who they were. Coming closer, she could see three people. Hikari hid behind a bush to watch them and gasped when she saw that one of the girls had a tatoo in the same place as her's! Hikari stood up to get a better look but a branch snapped and the boy spun round and looked straight at her.

Coughing up lungfulls of water,Corä lifted herself slowly out the of the pool. Wrapping her fluffy towel round her shoulders, Corä hurried back to the warmth of the empty cubicle. After she was dressed, Corä thrust her hand into her pocket and took out a leather notebook. Murmering happily to herself, she marked off the numbe 40 on the page. Only two weeks to go and her Father would send her to a swimming trainerin the hope that one day she would be famous! But she could only ask after 54 days and that would be extremly soon! Thrusting her smooth hand into her backpack, Corä drew out her phone and tapped in a number.

" Hey Mum? Ye, it's me. Can you pick me up?" She questioned, chucking a lump of bubblegum into her mouth.

"At the swimming baths, where else would I be? Fine, see you in a sec!"

Prancing out of the corridor, Corä spotted two girls chatting eagerly. Corä ran towards them, grinning.

"Hey, Beth, Rosalie!" Turning round, the two girls smiled and embraced their friend happily.

"Corä! It's so good to see you!" Exclaimed Beth. Chatting, the trio wandered off happily...

Ice glared at where the twig snapped. "I need to go home." She said, searching for her phone. Finally, she found it in her back pocket. She fumbled with it, her shaky hands proving unreliable. She turned on the screen and fumbled with the lock screen, finally getting into her contacts. She clicked "Ash" and then the phone button, then put the phone to her ear. She jumped when it started ringing, shaking more at the thought that the shadow monster was lurking in the bushes. "Ash...?" She asked weakly, breathlessly. "Is something wrong? You sound sick." He said. She groaned. "I, um, I hit my head... And I'm bleeding..." She said slowly as her vision faded in and out of darkness. "What! Where are you?" She heard. She licked her dry lips. "Uh... I dunno... Jay, where are we?" She asked deliriously. Ash grunted. "Are you near the lake?" She paused. "Uh... Yeah. Yeah I think so. We... We're in the woods?"

Ash started running back towards the lake. "Who is 'we' Ice!" He demanded. Ice paused, then replied, "This guy named Jay... And Tess, I think? I don't know either of them." She paused again. "And there's something in the bush..." She said slowly. Ash grunted, pushing himself to sprint. "I'm on my way! Ice just hold on, okay!" Ash could hear Ice's breathing. This wasn't good. "Just... I wanna go home, Ash." Ice sounded on the verge of tears.

Hikari stared at the three kids. Phew, they had'nt spotted her behind the dark green bush but they had definitely heard her. She looked closer at the white haired girl who was on the phone now and was constantly looking straight at her hiding place. Hikari wished she could leave but if she made another sound they would hear her for sure. Hikari knelt down close to the ground and continued to watch.

Ash burst into the forest. "Ice, tell your friends that I'm coming to get you. I'll be right there!" He hung up, running through the forest. He wanted to scream for her, but he knew she wouldn't be able to answer, what with the way she sounded. His adrenaline pumped, his heart racing in worry. This could be major or minor, but, either way, he had to get to her.

Ice was trying to keep her eyes open. She was suddenly curious about how hard she'd hit her head. She dropped her phone, then opened her mouth to tell Jay and Tess that Ash was coming, but fell unconscious.

Hikari gasped as the white haired girl dropped to the floor. Her heartbeat increased as she stared at her still body. Was she dead or just injured? She had to help her but she did not want the other two to get angry. Hikari took a deep breath as her caring side took over and she rushed from the woods into the clearing. But not before she saw a dark shadowy monster behind her. And she screamed.

Ash turned when he heard something fall. It sounded... Strange. Could it be Ice! Ash turned and ran, running into a clearing. There were three people there Ash didn't know. One was Japanese girl with blonde hair, another was a brunette girl, and the third was a brunette guy. All he saw was Ice was on the ground. "Ice!" He shouted, kneeling down. "Crap!" He wrapped his arm around her shoulders, the other under her knees.
