Personality: "That person is immensely perverse." Such words are used to describe Katsu every day, sometimes more than once. She looks in the mirror every day and says it to herself, after all. The masterpiece of a hardcore role player, Katsu is a work of contemporary art. Her flaws are not few, her quirks are far out there, but it still comes together into a (mostly) likable, or at least tolerable personality.

Character Backstory: Katsurou was regarded in his school to be a bit of a nutcase, even among anime and game otakus, and it was often joked that if one day he wasn't forced to go to school he would become a hikikomori that very same day. It was a joke based on reality, because Katsurou certainly dreaded every moment he spent being apart from his computer. Katsurou simply saw an ad for Elder Tale a few years ago, and, lying about his age to create an account, made several characters. When he first entered the game, he had an issue finding parties; he was either too meek or too strong in the approach thanks to him being socially awkward. So, he decided to have some fun acting as other people, and thus Katsu v1.0 was born. Except, that Katsu didn't last long, because it wasn't fun acting like a moderate person. Once he hit level thirty, he discarded that typical moderate and polite personality for something more boisterous and quirky with less practicality, so that he could have fun with the game. That's when the current Katsu was born, along with when Katsurou decided the alchemist subclass was amazing. Later on he became a very well-known player, and became a part of a large raid guild that he left two months ago to throw in the towel for a break from the game. Due to connections she gained in the large guild, she met and got into a one-sided friendship with Alistair, and she has been with him since the beginning of the Apocalypse.

A funny note is that Katsurou naturally has a gender-neutral voice, so he used voice chat in the game and nobody actually knows that he's a guy in real life.

Head:
Chiron’s Headband – Phantasmal Class Item – Immense increase to Intelligence. All healing sources are three times as effective. Sources include any method of healing (Spell, potion, area effect, gear, etc). Healing spells cast by the user on others also receive this bonus.

A testament to the wisdom of it's wearer.

Cloak:
Potion Master’s Coat – Phantasmal Class Item – Major increases to evasion, critical chance, potion effects, and poison effects. Allows creation of higher-tiered recovery-type potions for alchemists.

Even though it is a coat for the workplace where it would naturally get dirty in the process of R&D, anything that would damage it seems to avoid the cloth. Noted to be perfectly hydrophobic.

Body:
Spider Silk Tunic – Artifact Class Item – Immense increase to strength and health. Decreases physical damage taken by 30 percent.

Hands:
Magnus's Gloves – Phantasmal Class Item – All alchemical skills and creations (Potions and Poisons) are 5 times as effective.

Magnus, an alchemist 'gone mad', was persecuted by many for his research in the darker parts of alchemy. Driven by the sorrow of losing his wife and unborn child, he searched for ways to resurrect the dead and create new life. He was never caught, but his notebook he had left behind while fleeing a hideout had it's final entry as only one word: "Success." These gloves were found next to the notebook. It is said that alchemists who wear these gloves could even make life through their skills, like Magnus had aspired to.

Legs:
Leggings of the Spirits – Artifact Class Item – All healing done by and/or received will also recover mana at a rate of 12 percent. Damage will steal mana equal to a 2 percent of damage done.

Feet:
Silken Boots of Light Steps – Phantasmal Class Item – Increases speed and dexterity immensely, grants user the continuous effect of Move Silently.

A womanizer and kleptomaniac that was a thief of global scale wore these boots during their greatest heists.

Weapon:
Master Enu's Staff – Phantasmal Class Item – All healing spells will give the same amount of health points recovered by the target to the caster. Grants user increased mana regeneration and allows user to regenerate mana in combat as if they were resting. Grants user with a set of melee combat skills specific for use with a staff. Insane physical attack stat and strength boost.

The staff has been wielded by many martial artists and sorcerers alike, forging a give and take relationship with it's users. The experience gained in battle would be examined and copied by the staff, while the staff provided access to all the experience it had taken from previous masters. Master Enu, one of the more popular and recent users of the staff, was once seen using this staff to wipe out an entire platoon of soldiers alone.

Accessories:
Dazaneg's magic bag

Alchemist's storage bracelet – Phantasmal Class Item – Holds up to fifty vials for easy access in combat. Can instantly deliver any vial stored to the user’s hands or shoot it as a ranged attack.

This bracelet used to be a vital tool to an assassin that made use of poisons. He managed to assassinate many high-class targets before getting caught, saying that with every target or strong monster he killed the storage space inside the bracelet got larger. He was heard in his cell the night before his execution swearing that the storage would get larger than the castle he was held at in the hands of the next wielder.

Alchemist Ring of the Serpent: – Artifact Class Item – Being poisoned will affect you positively, immensely buffing and healing you while canceling the poison's effects.
(ie weakness effects from poison are canceled and give strength instead)

Pendant of the Master Alchemist – Phantasmal Class Item – Grants user the ability to turn potions and poisons into gases. Also grants Major boost to production yields, increasing production 5 times. «Transmutation» has higher success rates and is more efficient.

The alchemist who made this really did make gold out of dirt.

Mount:
Piri the Slime. The medium-sized gelatinous glob of green goo is frictionless, and actually very fast on all sorts of terrain. It has a tendency to randomly find precious herbs that weren't there before and slowly dissolve them. Many adventurers found this daunting to their morale and don't use the mount for long after acquiring it.

Extra: Katsu has Icicle Ripper, Heartbeat Healing, Burning Bite, and Gaiabeat Healing at Secret rank.

Character Name: Maki Rin / Mairi
Nick-names: Mairi of the Winter
Age: 21
Race: Elf
Gender: Female
Class: Summoner 90
Subclass: Tailor 90
Overskill: None

Personality: Mairi is a free spirit. She is laid-back, casual, and a little bit pervy. She enjoys messing with others and playing around, especially if they're acting "too serious." However, she is often prone to going overboard, either pushing boundaries that shouldn't be pushed or not acting serious in a serious situation.

Character Backstory: Rin is an avid roleplayer, despite how much her parents objected and urged her to focus on her studies. Rin joined Elder Tale for the RP, feeling that she could express her true self more freely behind an avatar.

Equipment Loadout: (Since her outfit changes constantly, I'll list her important combat equipment)
Body: Robe of the Almighty Winter. Originally worn by the legendary hero "Asuka of the Winter," this garment is the only thing that remains of her after she disappeared along with the other legendary heroes. (Phantasm-level. provides immunity to the "frozen" status effect and resistance to ice-element attacks)
Weapon: Summoner's staff. (slight boost to summons' stats)

Character Appearance:

Extra: She is a high-ranking member of a RP guild called ShieldHeart.

Adrenaline Surge:
It makes the user Fired Up for 60 seconds. During this time it has a 70% chance to restore 20% of maximum health every 5 seconds and a 70% chance to increase damage by 20% of maximum damage every 10 seconds for 3 seconds. If health is below 15% at the time of activation or during its duration health is reduced to below 15%, it will rapidly restore 10% of the health per second for its duration; however, during this time all additional increases in damage will be neutralized.

Personality:
Rindouko is light hearted, casual, and fun loving. Though he often has a serious air, Rindouko enjoys going with the flow and appearing in unexpected places and in unexpected ways. Rindouko is not often headstrong, looking before he leaps and taking time to plan ahead before taking action unlike most monks who are normal headstrong, although he does not hesitate to act if needs be. Even when entering into an unfortunate or unplanned situation. Rindouko remains completely calm, pushing forward through adversity with no hesitation if the need arises. He can be classed as quite the slave worker sometimes making people work more than what they can although he does this to try and make people the best they can be not because he likes it contrary to what some people think.

Character Backstory:
Rindouko or in the real world Ryouichi Kurosawa was a twenty-seven-year-old mechanic for a small garage in north Japan before that he was a college student and before that a high school student. He began playing Elder tale during his second year at high school after becoming friends with the 'geek' group of people he heard them talking one day about a game most of them have been playing for years, after all elder tales at this point had been out for 10 years but Ryouichi had no idea what they were talking about so asking them about it, they said they would show him after school. So after school came and they went around to Ryouichi house with a copy of the game and they got him to play it, he created his character with the name Rindouko mixing his name with his friend's name plus the girl he fancied name being the Rin part. He loved the game pulling an all nighter over the weekend he was gaining levels fast reaching level forty-eight over the two days. After that every day after school he went back and played more until he reached that dreaded level eighty which at the time was the max. Later on, more expansion packs came out raising the cap the ninety he of cause bought them and got to level ninety.

He left school and sixteen and became a college student after all his grades were way above average but that didn't stop him from playing no, the opposite he met more and more people who played and the more people he met the more wanted a guild that accepted everyone but had a certain sense of duty and honor to it. So Ryouichi decided to make a guild The Order Of Requiem which would become a large battle group within a few years. He left college at twenty and finally got the title he wanted in elder tale after years of trying he got the title dragon slayer which could be acquired after defeating at least 70 Legion Raid Boss dragons, not an easy thing to do. Still, now they were a problem he couldn't live at college any longer nor his parent's house so what to do. He got his own house and joined a local garage looking for a mechanic the pay was just right for him to eat, sleep, own a house and play his favorite game.

That's when it happened once he installed that next expansion pack his life changed, good bye mechanic job and real life hello database. Novasphere Pioneers the twelfth expansion pack seemed to somehow make him his avatar. The first thing he did was take a look at his friend's list and call all of the guild members online and it was most of them he got them all to meet up at the guild hall and they did every single one of them. Cracking his fingers Rindouko smirked as he looked at them all. "Well then this seems to be different doesn't it, after all, they is no screen weird isn't it, well lets be honest most of us have been dreaming of this day if you're not up to date with whats going on how to put this simply we are now our avatars." After this they were mass confusion but it didn't bother Rindouko instead he got his guild quiet and smirked once again. "Well we paid our hard earned money for this pack shall we see what changed." Heading out with his full guild they got used to the game and decided to split into group getting used to everything they weren't ready for a raid just yet but soon maybe. They spent the month in training getting used to their new lives. After four months the guild returned to the main cities recruting and telling people of their exploites.

Equipment Loadout

Character Appearance:
p_yatsukahagi_l02.jpg

Guild:
The Order Of Requiem
.

He is the guild master of the battle guild The Order Of Requiem. It is a guild open to anyone and everyone no matter their level or class or as it was before their free time. The guild has few rules which if any are broken they is a chance the person who broke them can be kicked out. The first rule and most important never betray your guild members this rule should be simple if your in a fight and you abandon your teammate your out the guild has always had this rule and the never leave a man behind type of attitude since its forming and it has continued to keep it. Rule two Never improvise if a plan has been issued chances are that if the raid leader has issued a plan either they have done the raid several times before or died enough times during the raid to have thought up a plan improvising just cost lives during a raid even if you respawn dying still sucks. The third and final rule and the rule the boss tells to all new member "Respect others as I respect you." the boss Rindouko won't say that he was not religious back in the 'real world' as he was raised in a religious background mostly where this rule comes from the bible just changed so that it suits everybody. If somebody breaks these rules The Order Of Requiem will hold a trial even if its just a game to them raiding is life so someone that breaks the rules and stops them from raiding well deserves a fair trial and then they will be judged accordingly.

The guild is well known and has going on over a thousand members but with seven-hundred being in the game and a good three-hundred members are missing out on the fun times.

The Guild Emblem is that of the old crusaders but in white with a black back ground. (A large white cross with four white crosses in each section on a black background.)

  • "You don't have to address me by my full title, I'm an Adventurer just like you."
    full
    Character Name: Cleopatra/Tora Akiyama
Nick-names: Grand Duchess Cleopatra; Queen of the Nile; Cleo
    Age: 23
    Race: Werecat
    Gender: Female
    Class: Swashbuckler
    Subclass: Royal
    Level: 90

    Overskill
    : None

    Personality:
Tora is a kind and friendly tomboy. She is sisterly and has a soft spot for children. As Cleopatra, she role plays as a regal and queenly woman. She cares for her subordinates and considers them to be her friends. She's a serious minded woman that takes action when she needs to, though she is usually a light hearted person. Due to choosing the werecat race, Cleopatra likes to purr when happy and hiss when she's angry.

    Character Backstory:
Tora grew up in a normal family and is the oldest of three sisters. As she grew up, Tora went to school and began to make friends. Her closest friends tended to be guys and they introduced her to table top RPGs and videogames. She quickly became hooked on these mediums, especially MMORPGs.

By the time Elder Tale came out, Tora was already well versed in the mechanics of MMORPGs and decided to form a guild. She wanted to give her werecat avatar, Cleopatra, an Egyptian theme, so she named her guild The Eye of Ra. She decorated the guildhall with ancient Egyptian styled items but didn't require for her guild members to equip Egyptian styled items; though with her love of role playing, she did require her guild members to RP a little.

Cleopatra welcomed many people into her guild. She enjoyed playing with them and role played with them by using a voice chat application. Each member of the guild used their avatars name for the voice chat service. Everyone had fun in the guild, but real life got in the way eventually, and active member numbers started to decline. Cleopatra didn't allow it to discourage her though. She continued to play the game and ended up completing all of the Royal subclass quests, earning her the title of Grand Duchess. She also participated in some of Elder Tale's raids and crossed paths with another gamer, Alistair, while doing so, but being busy Guildmastering kept them from crossing paths again outside of raids.

Cleopatra was happy about the launch of the new update and wanted to use it as a chance to revitalize her guild. She was surprised when she woke up in the world of Elder Tale in her werecat body. It would have been a lot of fun to interact with her guild members as a true embodiment of their characters, but after checking her friends list she realized that her role playing butler friend, Jeeves, was the only other person in her guild to log on with her.

Declaring that it had been a fun run, Cleopatra disbanded The Eye of Ra. She sold some of the larger Egyptain-styled furniture pieces and bought an apartment in Akihabara for herself. She was a little depressed after disbanding her guild, but she got over it realizing that new fun things were ahead of her in the wold of Elder Tale. For one thing she still had Jeeves to RP as her butler, but on top of that, the People of the Land seemed to be more alive than ever before. Cleopatra looks forward to how her Royal subclass will come into play when interacting with the Landers.

    Equipment Loadout:
    Head: Scarab Headband
Queen of the Nile Set: A rare set of female clothes with an ancient Egyptian style. Makes the individual look like a queen that is ready for battle.
    • Body: Queen of the Nile Top - Neck jewelry combined with a white silk toga top.
    • Hands: Queen of the Nile Bracelets
    • Legs: Queen of the Nile Battle Skirt - A white silk short-skirt built for easy combat maneuverability combined with black shorts.

Weapons: Ra's Sickle Swords: A pair of rare swords that applies the status effect "burn" to opponents that aren't suffering from burn.
    Accessories: Dazaneg's Bag

    Has a lioness mount.

Character Name: In game: Inuhime IRL: Ojoboto Sagishi

Nick-names: Nicknames: Little Princess, Inume, chibi summoner Titles: Dragonslayer and others.

Age: 23 IRL and 5 in game

Race: Wolffang

Gender: Male IRL, female in game

Class: Summonner lvl 90 (prefers a "Lord of Phantom Beasts" and "Pupetteer" hybrid type build)

Subclass: Counterfeiter lvl 92

Overskill: Not yet found

Personality: Ojoboto is a self-disciplined man with a general bad temper. While he can withstand with a certain degree of calm any situation that he is even slightly prepared for, if he enters a panic he can quickly devolve into seething rage and agression. Even when having some self-restraint, his manners aren't usually the best.He has a strong sense of pride and duty and a heavy conscience, leading to an ability to do dirty work and what has to be done, but an endless suffering over the guilt as price. He is not the brightest in the world, but he does have a flexible thinking and a willingness to make sacrifices, but lines he doesn't dare cross are repeating his great mistakes of the past: Taking orders from strangers, going after revenge and killing. But even if he won't avenge anyone, he is still protective of those he cares about as well as anyone sickly or child-like he sees in need of help (ironic, given his own appearance).
This steems towards his general kindness and compassion. He is quite the generous person, sometimes even more than his goal-oriented mind can bear. Heart and mind are apart, truly. When it comes to taking care of animals in particular, Ojoboto has a huge soft-spot. He studied to be a verterinarian after all.
After the apocalypse, Ojoboto found himself devided between being Ojoboto or being Inuhime. Because of his headgear, it's quite simple for him to match the right voice, so becoming Inuhime isn't out of the question. He flunctuates between giving up on the former world and transforming himself completely or remaining true to who he once was. Grief over his sister is often at the center of this doubt and also his tendency to comformity. If something seems impossible, it must be. Trying again and again is a waste of time. He believes this much. A nice chunk of the time, he still tries to keep his facade, even if he has become a little bad at playing cheerful. He completely rejects it towards people who get on his bad side though, whom he will usually pummel without hesitation (or try to).
The apocalypse brought about more changes than physical ones though. Slowly, he finds himself becoming more and more like the innocent and feminine Inuhime, fending juvenile tendencies and urges returning and increasing moments of fear, but also of awe.

Character Backstory: Once upon a time, Ojoboto was an upstanding young man. He was manly and chilvarous. Even though his grades were never the best and he got into a fight here and there, he wasn't what you'd call "a delinquent". No, that happened later when gossips began circulating about his sickly little sister. This was the trigger for a wave of rage that flooded Ojoboto, causing him to beat up several people whom he suspected had bullied his sister, even if she wouldn't tell him. However, regret soon overcame him as well, but it was too late... On the same day his sister's condition worsened came an offer...and a threat within it. Someone had dirt on him because of what he did, he might loose the scholarship he needed so he could study while his sister was hospitalized. The offer came from a man named Kurosakawa, who led a sort of street gang. He offered money and to keep his mouth shut if Ojogoto became his goon, to which he had to comply.
Innitially expecting to leave one day, Ojogoto saw the piles of things he had done simply grow, giving Kurosakawa even more dirt on him. There could be no end in sight, so Ojogoto needed a way to deal with the stress and the guilt. And then he found it: Elder Tale. If he could take the shoes of someone perfectly innocent, even if just for the game at night, then he could calm himself, surely. And so was created the cute little Inuhime.
Ingame, life was simple. He would just get home, sometimes with a clean hand, sometimes cleaning the blood off first, then would sit in front of the computer with a lowd sighgt and until he went to sleep, he was Inuhime. A cute girl everyone seemed to love and always talked with a speech problem. Everyone took this as roleplay, yes, but few seemed to realize Inuhime's player was not actually a girl. But did it matter, if Inuhime was? She would always send her summons ahead, while keeping some healing on her fellow players. She would never join a guild, because she didn't want to have to follow orders like IRL. This was also why she always prefered to be at the center of command, regardless of being the brightest or not. The coming of her Beastcaller's masterkey was amazing, since the voice distortion effect of the item allowed voice chatting with other players without his identity being revealed at all, or his gender and age.
And then, it was all over. He was already working as a goon as a fulll time job now, after seven years of playing Elder Tale to relief himself, when his sister died. For years, nobody saw Inuhime again. Even his boss gave Ojogoto a break to grief. Only much later, at the day of the apocalypse, did Ojogoto finnally find the courage to jump into the game again.. he just didn't think it would be litterally.
He appeared in-game in Susukino and, realizing the changes in his body and location, he freaked out. Some of his former "fans" came looking for him (or her in their minds), only to fid her attempting to knock them around and calling them all sorts of names while shouting furiously. The cute facade was gone. They left. Rumors were spread, and a lot of people came to realize the truth about the famed Inuhime. A few did not believe the rumors, many of which ended up finding out at their own discretion, just as Inuhime would begin to realize her mistake and her truly scary being alone in this world could be. Especially as she began to realize that her body was not the only thing that changed...

Equipment Loadout:

Head: "Beastcaller's Masterkey"- Phantasmal Class Item- Increases a user's mana and mana regeneration, as well as having a certain reduction in cooldowns and casting speeds and increases summon duration. It's big feature for [name], though, is that it allows one to copy any sound or voice when they speak. This can be a fun trick at parties, specially considering it can also record sounds (the mimicked sounds come from a pool of pre-recorded sounds) and it can be used to reduce aggro from monster by mimicking their voices.
Loriam was a hunter for a certain noble, unable to find food he spent several days in the forests, wondering and starving. He sought and sought, but after the disaster that hit the land, nothing would appear. And as he laid in the brink of despair, he heard the birds. Calling each other. A pair of wings soared above him, just a little leap from one tree to the next. Maybe, Loriam wished, maybe he could call the animals and have them know they were needed. He tried calling, seventeen times he tries as the light threatened to leave his body, and it happed. It came. And Loriam lived and swore to learn the language of every animal and carve it into his most precious metal.

ena0223.jpg

Body: Soulring Carrier- Artifact Class Item- a very powerful artifact class item that makes it so mana or health increases or increases in regeneration also increase the other (a health upgrade also upgrades mana and vice versa). It also increases both of those and the efectiveness of the wearer´s buffs and healing, as well as giving an amazing increase of the wearer´s defense against negative statuses and ranged attacks.
An armor carrying many souls that willing came to the first wearer's aid, a great hero who sought their help to save a town from the shadows of evil.

magic chest.jpg

Hands: Longloves of Proclamation- artifact level item- Reduces the mana cost of spells and reduces cooldown and increases casting range.
Gloves especially designed to deal with the greatest strains of magic casting

cosplay_trigun_vash-gloves-v2-anime_laid-out-filled-1.jpg

Legs: Skirt of Arcanomancy- Artifact Class Item- Increases the the wearer's maximum mana and maximum range. Increases the effectiveness of non-debuff spells.
A skirt that gives access to the ancient knowledge of arcanomancer scholars, and their power as well. No one knows why it is a skrt.

Dsc15156.jpg

Feet: Idol's Grandiose Boots- Artifact Class Item- Reduces cooldown, casting speed and mana cost of spells. They have an ability which allows them to temporarily blind foes with bright light, stopping them on their tracks, while giving a great speed boost. Huge cooldown though.
Boots to let any great idol truly shine on the stage and dance to their heart's content

upload_2017-7-15_0-6-20.jpeg

Weapon:
Ominous Tribute- Phantasm Level Item- a dagger item wieldable by caster classes, allows the wielder to wield other daggers and makes all daggers wielded attack as if they were wands. Increases the effectiveness of all buffing spells cast to and by the wielder, and increases the wielder's magic resistance while reducing their cooldowns and mana costs. The dagger has an ability that allows it to summon with no mana cost but with a large cooldown one Dark Spawn of the wielder's level per nearby enemy. However, this comes with a proportional cost in life, up to 50% of the wielder's innitial life. When the spawns or the dagger deals melee damage to an enemy, it triggers a short debuff that decreases one of their stats at random. Every seventh hit, a new debuff is added "blindess", which increases the cast time of the debuffed.
Seeking power by any means seems like a statement of dedication, but Orgath came to find it was actually one of tragedy, as he realized just how deep a tribute "the darkest tribute was", when his worst nightmares surrounded him like shadows and his mind grew weaker and more lost every time he sacrificed a life to obtain the cursed blade's immense wicked powers.

Glorious Dagger of the Rising Sun- Artifact Level Item- a dagger item that increases the effectiveness of buffs and healing effects. It can also turn all of the wielders damage temporarily into holy damage and it increases the wielder's healing in the sunlight. Additionally, it can generate a weak light at any time for no mana.

A blade whose power rises with the sun itself, and whose light it emanates.

Extra: Anything extra you want to tell? Feel free to add to your character!

I am taking one assumption as I design this character: That Elder Tale allowed heavy character customization down to a character's proportions. Precise heights and such appearance choices namely, were specifically mentioned in the anime. There currently seems to be no exact information on the exact character creation of Elder Tale anywhere, but since you seem to be able to just input information, I am taking that Elder Tale would take a more "DnD" styled approach to aesthetic aspects of character creation. In my character, I took advantage of the choices of gender, height, weight, age and "proportions" in the character customization.
I hope that is alright.

Character Name: Yuuki Magotzu - Alistair Crowley.
Nick-names: Phantom of Akihabara, The Reaper Enchanter.
Age: 19 -Real Life | 22 - In-game.
Race: Half- Alv.

Gender: Male
Class: Enchanter, lvl 90
Subclass: Scribe, lvl 90
Overskill: Contract Art Ceremony - Magical contract made using a Scribe skills. The type of ink has to correspond to the contract, however, and the effect depends on the terms of the contract. Though Alistair has forbidden himself from using this Overskill considering its powerful effects within Elder Tale, only will he ever use the Overskill as a last resort by any means.

Personality:
Alistair is a kind, intelligent, calm and goofy man. Treating everyone like his equals, though polietly keeping himself distant from others. He will not turn away from someone who needs help though, and will get the job done no matter what. When he sees something as the greater good, he will stop at nothing to achieve that greater good, even if he is seen as a villain all the while. His goofiness is subtle, but present if someone can spot it. He can be extremely clumsy when not in battle though. His heart of fire tends to stay hidden more often than not, as he is more the silent type when it comes to confrontaiton.

Character Backstory: Yuuki is from a wealthy Japanese family, one of the richest families among Japan itself actually, from a young age Yuuki's studies were brought upon him to one day become the Boss of the family business. Learning extensively in business, and government. Yuuki was naturally just a smart kid.
Social interaction was non-existent, unless he spoke to his best friend the butler. Other than that he had no interaction with people as a child. It was only until his father decided to buy him a Gaming PC set up, and give him the game Elder Tale. His father told him that this game wasn't very popular, but it could get him into finding friends. Yuuki was 10 when he began Elder Tale, and chose the Enchanter class and Scribe Sub-Class. From here on out he did all he could to rise to the top, going from party to party when he was just an Enchanter with no name (Any sort of respect). 7 years had passed and Yuuki had become an important figure within the Elder Tale community. The last raid he did, provided him with a special set of Raid Equipment. "The Reaper Set" A Phantasmal set of equipment that gives special bonuses to the player. From that point on Yuuki assumed the mantle of The Reaper Enchanter, Alistair.
For 2 years, Yuuki has held the title, some people consider him a demon from stories they've heard a long time passed. All the while, Yuuki had continued with studying and becoming a successful man, enough so that he spent weeks in his room reading books on business, government practicies, mathmatics, etc. He had also gained an affinity to chess, considering it helpful with his studies, though that was all a lie so that he could create better strategies to follow as an Enchanter in Elder Tale. Chess is one of his favorite games as it tests his strategic abilities, and he usually only plays by himself. Finding it soothing as he stays in his in-game study days on end.
As the Catastrophe began, Yuuki figured out the mechanics within hours. He did not seem very shocked, or scared for that matter but he was somewhat curious as to how or why it happened. He has begun his research in figuring out what, why, and how this all happened. Why did the creators do this? He did not know, but he would try to find out.

Equipment Loadout: The Reaper Set:

Head: Simple Scholar's Glasses (Normal) - "Simple glasses for a simple Scholar" No bonus effects given.

Reaper's Overcoat (Phantasmal) - "A Black Overcoat/Longcoat that is shredded around the ends of the coat worn by a creature known to have been pale as bones, an accursed item that no one dares to touch, unless they are worthy" Light weight armor that boosts high protection from magical attacks, when equipped with the full Reaper Set, its secret ability is unlocked, the ability that the Overcoat wields is all offensive, defensive, and support magic is boosted around 5%. Also gives the Overcoat an ominous purple tinted glow to its black outfitting.

Reaper's Leggings (Phantasmal) - "Leggings worn by the creature known to have been as pale as bones, an accursed item that no one dares to touch, unless they are worthy." Light weight armor that boosts agility/speed. Allowing for easier retreating if in need to stay safe behind allies. Secret Ability - The Leggings allow the wearer a near silent approach to the battlefield if one is arriving late. Enemies will not notice the wearer until they make themselves noticed in battle. The leggings gain a purple tinted glow.

Reaper's Scythe (Phantasmal) - "A Sacred Staff that transforms itself into a Scythe when in battle, known to have been used by the creature as pale as bones, an accursed item that no one dares to touch or has sought, unless they are worthy to wield its powers and look at its worth." A Staff/Scythe that does literally no damage to opponents, but steals MP whenever the scythe is used to cut foes, and in turn, with an amount of MP that has been stolen, the scythe can direct an curved energy slash at its opponent, dealing damage equal to the amount of MP stolen, also slows down opponents MP regeneration and agility. Staff spell usage makes spells 5% more effective. (20 MP stolen for each cut to opponents. 10 cuts max 10x20 = 200 hp. Used effectively it can be deadly.) Special Ability - Scythe - damage continues to affect opponents like poison. (5 points of damage every 5 seconds) Staff- MP regen is even quicker. The Scythe and Staff are both given an ominous black and purple hue to it, as if energy pours out of the weapon, almost like it lives as one with its wielder.

Mithril Shirt (Artifact) - "A white chainmail long sleeved shirt with golden inlay, the shirt was made from strong material named Mithril, said to have been impenetrable even by magic blades" Medium weight armor, that boasts high defenses in battle, able to withstand an amazing amount of damage for the wearer, but even so, not every piece of armor is able to protect the wearer from defeat.

Accessories:

Dazaneg's Magic Bag - Holds an interestingly large amount of items in a magical bag fit for the wearer's items.

Griffon Flute - Summons Griffon's as a mount.

Rainbow Ink Bottle - : A Production-class item, the color of ink within the bottle can be changed.

Talismans:

Reaper's Lantern Talisman (Artifact) - "A lantern used by the creature as pale as bones, used on its many journeys across many plains of the worlds, it lights the way for the creature and its subjects." The Lantern boosts magic damage, support, and defense by 5%. Special Ability - The Reaper Lantern Talisman gives the wearer, if they are an Enchanter the special skill called "Spell Counters" The ability allows Enchanter's to stack a certain amount of Spells to a Counter, and then release the amount of spell usage as damage with an attack. (Example. If Alistair used 4 spells throughout a battle, the Counter tracks the progress of those spells as 4 spells used during a battle.) If Alistair uses another spell, the counter will track 5 spells. 5 spells is the limit to the counter, and he can use the full power of the Spell Counter, which adds to damage output. 1000 damage is given to any of his offensive magic spells. (Example during a battle. Alistair uses Thorn Bind Hostage as his fifth and final spell, he uses the Spell Counter skill, and the amount of damage each thorn has will add up to 2000 damage per hit from an ally.) Making this Talisman, a force to reckon with. The Lantern has a green flame that glows menacingly, but is unseen under the Overcoat.

God's Wood Talisman (Artifact) - "A Talisman carved out from a Godswood Tree, the Talisman seems to produce a humming sound to the wearer, soothing their weary bones" A Talisman that boosts status immunity.

The Reaper Set gives Alistair a total of 10% increase in all spells. A silent approach ability, the Spell Counter ability, MP steal and attack ability with poison like dmg as special ability, and quicker MP regen ability

Character Name: Barry Brown / Reynald
Nick-names: Red Reynald
Age: 34
Race: Wolfhair
Gender: Male
Class: Samurai 92
Subclass: Berserker 95
Overskill: Manly Spirit (undiscovered). After Shinra-Bansho is active for ten seconds, the user can use their own fighting spirit to keep it active until they are no longer to sustain it.

Personality: Reynald is fighting spirit incarnate. He never gives up, even when it's impossible for him to win and if it would hurt him less to back down. He also has a strong sense of justice, which lead him to taking a tank role; allowing him to take damage so others won't have to. While he isn't so extreme in real life, he enjoys the reactions others have towards him, so his internet persona ended up turning into this over-the-top reflection of himself. His biggest flaw is that he often gets carried away by his persona, leading to him face obstacles that could've easily been avoided.

Character Backstory: Barry was always into comics and TV; whether American or Japanese. Despite being American himself, his love of anime and manga helped motivate him to learn Japanese to the point of playing video games on Japanese servers. While he never officially joined any guild, his over-the-top roleplaying persona has given him an extensive friends list.

Equipment Loadout:
(notable gear)
Body: Scarlet Coat: (Reduced bleed chance)
Weapon: Ancient Katana: Made using long-forgotten forging techniques, this blade was used by dragon-slayers due to its incredible cutting power. Dragon scales, stronger than stone, crumbled against it. (Ignore some slashing resistance)
Character Appearance:

Extra: His favorite hype song is Dare, though Libera Me From Hell also works.

Character Name: Umeko Tanaka in real life, Azrael in game
Nick-names: None
Age: 16 in real life, 19 in game
Race: Race of Ritual (Ritian)

Gender: Female in real life, Male in game
Class: Cleric lvl 32
Subclass: Animal Trainer lvl 40
Overskill: None atm

Personality: Umeko in the real world was meek and quiet, often keeping to herself. She was diligent, minding her studies and keeping up with odd jobs, which occupied most of her time. She often didn't make time for herself, aside from basic grooming, and always prioritized others over herself. In game, Azrael was outgoing and friendly, often eager to help someone out despite not knowing much of the game. He often passed up on rare drops in favor of giving them to others, the few times he went on a low-level raid or did a small dungeon with online friends. A social butterfly, Azrael has an extensive friend list, most of whom he doesn't talk to anymore, and some he'd rather not talk to ever again.

Character Backstory: Azrael, or as he was known in real life, Umeko, didn't have a good childhood. Her mother died during childbirth, leaving her in the hands of a grieving and angry father. In her early childhood, her father often neglected her, barely able to provide food for her to eat with his drinking and gambling problem. Their home was often barren, rather rundown at most times, and Umeko got a job as soon as she was able in order to provide for herself. Her jobs were often under the table deals or unofficial employment, walking other peoples' dogs or babysitting. It was simple work, but paid enough to keep Umeko from starving, and even allowed her to purchase some luxuries if she saved up. That's how Umeko managed to get a computer. Its initial purpose was to expand her job employment, as well as to make schoolwork easier than writing essays by hand. One day, while browsing job websites, Umeko stumbled across an ad for Elder Tale. Saving up, she was able to purchase the game at the age of fifteen. Instantly, Umeko was taken by the game. She loved the lore, the role play, and most importantly, the sense of belonging that came with being in such a large community. However, jobs and school kept her from playing religiously, hence why she is still a low-level a year after getting the game. When the new expansion came out, Umeko had already been saving, and dedicated its launch night to just playing the game.

Character Name: Nova in-game, Esther Smith IRL
Nick-names: None
Age: 25 IRL and in-game
Race: Foxtail

Gender: Female IRL and in-game
Class: Bard lvl 91
Subclass: Chef lvl 91
Overskill: None atm

Personality: Esther is surprisingly constant in her personality, regardless of if she's online or in real life. Kind, caring, optimistic and outgoing, if not a bit loud. She's very boisterous, and tries to be a leader despite not being very competent. She can be very contradictory - stubborn in one interaction, whimsical and easily persuaded the next. Esther can be somewhat unpredictable, if only in the sense that her mood seems to swing fast. The good news is that rebounds from negative emotion quickly, and always seems to find a silver lining.

Character Backstory: Esther was born the only child of two rather wealthy parents. They both held high ranks in the corporate world, but weren't CEO's. She grew up in a penthouse in New York, attending only the most prestigious schools throughout her life. Her parents were very work-oriented, however, and rarely spent time with her. They liked to shower her in material gifts and gave her a rather large allowance, but it didn't help the fact that Esther was lonely. She took piano, violin and guitar lessons every day after school, so she never got to interact with her peers much aside from in class. Even then, Esther felt isolated. She had very few friends she didn't know very well and couldn't do anything with aside from attend school and study.

As such, Esther spent most of her time alone. She began to pick up gaming as a way to distract herself from her loneliness. Her parents were all too eager to shower her in games and consoles as a way of making up for their absence. One such game she got was Elder Tale, and it was the first MMO she ever got. It added an element of social interaction that Esther had been lacking in her life. She quickly took to the game, grinding up to the level cap while bouncing between parties, and spent a lot of time just standing in the main plaza, chatting with anyone who would be willing to listen. The game provided her friends and gave more meaning to her life.

Eventually, however, she had to grow up. After graduating high school at the age of 18, Esther had to go to college. Sent to college for business and cooking, it wasn't until she had graduated and started her own restaurant that Esther got back into Elder Tale, revisiting it just in time for the expansion.

Avatar's Name: Taren Shineko (Referred to as Shineko)

Avatar's Gender: Male

Avatar’s Age: Mid 20s

Race: Werecat

Avatar's Appearance: Shineko is a tall, slender figure. His fur is more of a dark gray than black that seems to blend in with the shadows. His eyes are a piercing golden hue with dark flecks. When he moves, there is a definite sense of grace to his movements.

Guild: Solo Player

Level: 93

Class: Assassin

Subclass: Sigilmancer 93

Overskill: Not listed

Head: Visor of Shadows Sight – Production Class Item – The lens tint instantly adapts to surrounding light conditions. These provide 3 major benefits. Low-light/Night Vision, improved accuracy (improving chance for a critical strike), and immunity to being blinded.

**Lore/Flavor Text** This visor was originally created by a thief who wanted to be able to challenge the leader of the thieves guild. Using his own knowledge of the shadows, he worked tirelessly to ensure he had a visual edge over anyone else with the aid of this Visor. The one who wears the visor can’t be visually deceived.

** Special Note on items Appearance ** The appearance of this items resembles a uni-body styled pair of sun glasses that fit snugly on the head and look sleek. The lenses are made of a crystal with a dark smoky green hue and the framing seems to be made from a lightweight and durable black material that seems to suck the light in around it.

Body: Cloak of Shadowed Tranquility – Phantasmal Class Item – Provides moderate bonus to armor and agility. Also provides a bonus to blending into the shadows. The user can slip into the shadows and travel in the shadows and exit at a different location as long as the trail of shadows goes unbroken. Maximum time the user has to travel while in shadow form each time is 10 minutes. You can use this item twice (with a small 5 minute break in-between) and then it will require a longer 2 hour cooldown before the skill fully resets. If a user only uses one of the 2 available charges, both will still be available after a 2 hour cooldown period. While travelling in the shadows, movement speed is double your maximum capable speed. User is unable to go through solid objects but can travel through cracks as long as there is shadow/darkness to create a path. The cloak seems to almost flow and wrap itself about the wearer at the same time, blending in with the shadowy areas around the user.

**Flavor Text** The wearer of this cloak can become so much like a shadow that they almost seem to slip out of an individual’s ability to target.

Hands: Onyx Serpent Obsidian Armguards –Phantasmal Class Item– Greatly improves the user’s agility and defense. Immensely improves critical hit rate and damage. Increases chance of rare loot dropping. Greatly increases if wearer delivers the killing damage.

Legs: Vampiric Shin Guards of the Abyss – Phantasmal Class Item – Greatly increases agility and defense. Also gives moderate boost to critical rate and damage. User heals a moderate amount of health based on all damage being done by wearer.

Feet: Shadow Strike Boots of the Tracker – Phantasmal Class Item – These boots provide moderate armor and huge increase to movement speed and ability. Wearer is granted Sneak, Silent Move, and Hide Shadow. Movement speed is not hindered by being in combat or terrain. Movement speed is quintupled. The boots are black on the outside, the inside is a light gray typically worn with the top turned down in to a cuff.

Primary Weapon: Xolotl’s Blade (custom length blade on the edge between a wakizashi and katana) –Phantasmal Class Item – This weapon provides a major increase to the user’s crit rate and damage. In addition, user’s damage is double if user is sneaking. Damage is treated as both normal and lightning damage with a high chance to cause paralysis status effect.

Secondary Weapon: (Left Hand) Hand of the Etcher with an embedded black obsidian shard with a sigil on it – Production Class Weapon – Gives the wearer the ability to draw runes anywhere, even in combat. It can automatically use the items contain in wearer’s immediate inventory and can call on the knowledge of the wearer to create a rune to his specification (as long as it is within the wearer’s normal ability).

Accessory 1: Dazaneg's Magic Bag – Magical Class item – Earned by completing the Level 45 quest (Get the Magic Bag). Due to personal player preference in its creation, the bag was created in a style similar to a belt pouch. The amount it can hold inside has not been altered.

Accessory 2: Red Dragon’s Blood Amulet – Artifact Class – Makes player unaffected by natural temperature changes. Gives wearer increased Resistances to Natural Elements (fire, water, lightning, earth, etc) and makes wearer immune to fire.

** This amulet appears to be made from a metal that almost seems to look like liquid fire with the runic script embedded in a circle for each of the elements found in nature with the symbol for fire made from what appears to be a bloodstone in the center. Most players who touch this amulet find it warm to the touch.

Accessory 3: Roc Flute – Phantasmal Class Item – Summons a Roc as a mount.

**Special drop that was only obtainable through a very difficult raid. Comparable to the Griffin Mount.

Accessory 4: Ring of Xipe Totec – Phantasmal Class Item – Redacted
**Appearance** The ring is a dark black. It appears to be made out of some type of liquid metal that seems to be swirling and give the impression of death and decay.

Background: Real World

Name: Richard Xu

Age: 31

His father is Chinese American and his mother is of European decent (German and Italian ancestry mostly but she is 1st generation American). Both were creative and worked with computers. His father was a leader in the field of computer programming (especially with AI and reactionary routines) while his mother worked with GUI interface design and graphics designer. They both worked for a gaming company called Atharva. When he was 11, his parents told him about the game they had been working on that was going to be coming out and they were able to get him into the Beta test (Elder Tale). Since the Beta test, he has played every single expansion and even invited some of his friends to play when he was enrolled at MIT later. He got his degrees in Computer Engineering and Computer Science. He also met his now fiancé, Sarah, while he was at MIT. She liked working with languages and making jewelry as a hobby. She tried to play ElderTale with Richard, but wasn't as drawn into that world as he was but respected his love of games. She normally found herself delving into her own hobbies and was glad that he was engrossed in his own things so that she didn't feel like she was neglecting him. They loved each other greatly and he took an interest in her hobbies. He wasn't as good with languages as she was, but he did start seeing the patterns between languages and their roots. He found it to almost remind him of programming and how even though you have different programming languages, there always seem to be some things in common between them. After graduating, Richard went to work for Atharva but not on the ElderTale game itself. However, he made friends with a number of the members working on the game and used these connections to find out what new things were going to be in upcoming expansions. He was a hardcore gamer and always pushed when a new expansion came out so he could be one of the first to explore the new areas, learn the quests, see the new gear, and reach the new level cap when it was raised. Richard found it amusing that he would occasionally notice rumors on the forums of a character supposedly being able to clear some of the raids solo. He was happy that most people took this as just a rumor and didn’t believe it was true. Richard wasn’t sure how these rumors got started as he had been very careful when playing to try to avoid anyone seeing him while he was doing these raids. There was one player who came early to where a raid boss would be spawning. He and the party his was supposed to meet up with had planned to do the raid later and he came to scout the area and saw him fighting the boss solo but for some reason he felt his secret was safe with Alistair. Alistair didn’t treat him like many other players in the past had and didn’t try to ask him for anything. He seemed to just want his friendship and so they had occasionally gone off to play together.

Backgroup: Elder Tale

Shineko used his extra knowledge that he gained through his parents and later his friends working on Elder Tale to figure out items that he would like for himself and ones that others would like as well. He would use this knowledge in trade to create parties to do the Raids to gather the items he was interested in exchange for giving information on where to find items that would help them as well and even helping in the raids to get the items. These players found his information always to be correct and helpful and soon began to hound him constantly for more, driving him to distrust other players as he felt they just wanted to use him. This led him to playing only with certain few players that he came to think of as friends and otherwise he would play solo as he didn’t really like interacting with the larger player base or the idea of being in a guild due to his past experiences.

Background: Since the Apocalypse

He often prefers the solitude of the darkness, whether shadows or abandoned ruins or the nighttime of this world when he isn’t pushing hard through the newly released content or researching more about sigils and how he can use them. This solitude allows him to almost disappear and fade into the nothingness, something that he shares with his memory. For some unknown reason ever since the Apocalypse, he has been able to remember every detail of every adventure he experienced here in Elder Tale, but he can’t recall any details about his life outside of this world. On the few times when he has died, instead of losing memories like some rumors are starting to say happens, he had flashes of what seemed like memories from the real world but they were forgotten once again as he respawned. When others talk about things from the real world, he is able to understand what they are talking about but he is just unable to remember the details of his own life. Because of this, he is missing some sense of who he really is and so he is having to build a new identity for himself here. This has left a feeling of distance and loneliness compared to many other adventurers that he has interacted with in his travels. However, skills that he may have known in the real world do not seem to be affected by his memory loss. While his knowledge of the real world seems to be flaky at best, he has an extremely detailed knowledge of Elder Tale (Theldesia) and its history. He did notice his friend Alistair was here as well but he didn’t reach out to him immediately after the Apocalypse, instead going off on his own as he was used to doing before whatever happened that brought him into this world and he has enjoyed exploring it. Shineko also met another after coming to this world that he has rather enjoyed as he is an interesting puzzle. He couldn’t help finding himself wanting to be friends with him even though he was certain he would use him and his knowledge if he could so Shineko always kept his guard up around him.

* Due to the nature of this character's personality and his past, there is very little chance most other players have ever met him before. If you wish to have established some type of previous history with this character, please contact me first so we can discuss whether or not it would be possible.

Accepted my good friend. Welcome back to the fold.

Overskill

Me and I ; Shikigami Duality
Passive Effect
Zero's Shikigami is a permanent summon, however not without a cost. Her Shikigami takes half of her stats, this includes, but is not limited to; Defense, Attack Power, and Spell Power. What's more, both share a single health bar, which means if one is killed, the other follows suit *. This also carries over to the MP bar.

The benefit to this is Zero can use the Shikigami as a conduit, allowing it to act as the 'user', after she bites the cast time. When a spell is channeled this way, it gets the full effect from her original Spell Power stat.

(*Unless under Magatama Manifestation Level 3, as this takes the user's life. (Further note; Magatame Manifestation now ends when combat ends. Whether this is longer or shorter than the original duration)).

Personality

Kunara was always a timid individual. You know, the type of individual that just kind of locks up in any sort of social environment. What's more, back in her school days she wasn't even that good at studying, thanks to the constant worry of her grades somehow effecting how people viewed her. This isn't to say she was too afraid to do anything, no, no. She always tried, she just kind of.. failed last second. For example, she would muster up the courage to talk to somebody, and actually approach them. That's just about as far as she ever got, whilst blankly staring at them. But you see, Kunara was never the type to get easily depressed either. No, for her, failure was simply one door of many closing.

Unfortunately, this is just about how it was when she was online, as well. The girl just kind of followed along, doing whatever was asked of her really. It was kind of hard to talk to her, actually, since she rarely typed anything. Again, thanks to her timid nature, and not wanting to be judged for saying the wrong thing.

Now? Well, now Zero is here. Trapped inside this world, without really feeling a need to go back. It's like nothing really changed between here and there, awkwardness and all. Thanks to her Shikigami, however, there is a reliable source to translate what each given action (or lack thereof) means.

Character Backstory

Normal, is an ongoing theme within Kunara's life. She had normal parents, both with steady jobs, with a normal income. She went to a normal school, where she got average grades, like a normal student. Well, alright, maybe not all that 'normal' of a student.

Kunara was the type of student that you had a hard time with. We aren't talking about delinquency or anything. No, it's just that she never really talked in class, even if the teacher called. She didn't have friends, and her attempts were never really noticed, either. Sometimes even whenever roll call came around, all she could manage was a squeak. But whenever it came to gym, that was one thing she could stand out in. Mostly due to the fact that she would forget where she was in the heat of the moment, before retreating into the back to hide away for the rest of the time.

After that? It was like Kunara had no real drive to go anywhere, or do anything. She tried her hardest to stay at home, even if it meant doing every last chore. By the age of 19, she was basically a maid at her own home. Capable of cooking every meal, and thoroughly cleaning the house to ensure her parents wouldn't get upset. Otherwise, she kept herself locked up in that room of hers, doing whatever she possibly could to distract herself. After all, even with her parents the most she could do was make an approach. This is why she 'approached' video games so long ago. She was hoping that it would be some sort of outlet that would help her get past this stage. And admittedly, it was actually kind of fun. People actively sought her out due to her support role, which was a far reach from being that kid that everyone just kind of ignored. She even took up this funny sub-class called "Chindon'ya", because it was literally about being loud, which she felt would help her take the next step. Now, more than ever...

*Updated;
Zero was nicknamed 'Fang', due to the fact that she wears the Fang's Visage set. Regardless of the gear that drops, she just seems to favor it for some reason or another. Hence, people naturally just started calling her by the set's name.

Summon Shikigami

The Shaman calls forth a shikigami, a humanoid familiar spirit, in a solid form. The appearance of a Shikigami varies from Shaman to Shaman, but typically they resemble humans with pronounced animal-like features similar to Fox Tails that normally wear Eastern traditional clothing. They are normally said to have a personality and body representative of the Shaman's inner self. This means that while some Shikigami will resemble their masters, others may look vastly different and may even be of the opposite gender. For Shamans who employ more than one Shikigami, each particular Shikigami will still look distinct but will seem to be like siblings. As a Shikigami is representative of the true self, it can speak and understand the languages that the Shaman may speak.

Shikigami are usually used in a support role, with tasks ranging from off-tanking to scouts to support DPS. There is a wide range of shikigami that a Shaman can summon, and they last for 5 minutes. In the original game, shikigami were treated as bonus content for players, with little to no practical use. However, after the Catastrophe, shikigami now share the same sensations with their masters, allowing shikigami to serve reconnaissance roles in battle. Of course, there are shikigami that are well-loved by many as mascots. This skill has a casting time of 5 seconds. Only one Shikigami may be summoned at a time.

Personality
Like all Shikigami, Nara represents Zero's inner self. Otherwise known as, the bit that Kunara keeps locked up. This means that Nara is more sociable than her Master, and definitely brings more emotion to the table. She loves cute things, and thoroughly enjoys taking what she wants when permitted. And just one more thing. This shikigami loves to be loud and full of energy.

"No, I didn't mean Excalibur. Yes, I'm sure."

Overskill: Phantom Cross
"Witchblade. Short, to the point, and above all, accurate. How they knew is beyond me."
Caliburn blinks and attacks a minimum of four times, each strike holds that of a different element. Every .5 seconds after the fourth strike, Caliburn is capable of striking once more at an exponentially increased mana cost and cooldown to Phantom Cross. After his final strike, Caliburn's weapon stays enchanted with the element he ended on, with the normal duration of it starting then, and all elemental enchantment skills go on cooldown except the current one and Witchblade Arts.

If Caliburn uses Phantom Cross after casting Witchblade Arts, the duration of Witchblade Arts is not paused. Instead, the strikes are done with the effect of Witchblade Arts, and if he finished Phantom Cross while Witchblade Arts is still going, none of the other elemental enchant skills go on cooldown due to the lack of use. The mana cost and increased cooldown for per strike beyond four, however, stays the same.

If an elemental enchant is active before the use of Phantom Cross, the first strike will be in that element, and no matter what that element is what the weapon shall be enchanted when Phantom Cross is over, putting all other elemental enchants on cooldown.

If Esoteric Edge is activate before or during Phantom Cross, the mana cost per strike is doubled, in addition to the constant cost of Esoteric Edge. When Phantom Cross ends, Esoteric Edge is forced into cooldown as well.

Personality
"Who I was then, is not who I am now...
Ren Moto was what you would picture a start student to be. Outgoing and friendly, intelligent and determined, dedicated and thoughtful. Someone that people look up to, a leader in the making, a symbol and a hope of societies future that their youth was still capable of working hard to achieving their dreams and changing the world for the better, raising themselves above the previous generation and guiding the next generation to a brighter tomorrow. Ren Moto was inspirational.
"The world was at my fingertips, and now? Now everyday is a struggle..."
Caliburn, on the other hand, is different. Caliburn is eccentric, though not always in a good way. He isn't so much determined as he is obsessive. He only really cares about one thing, and that is his dragon. His presence is unnerving, not due to any inherit madness or darkness, but the lack of genuine emotions from him. He is what others wish to avoid, a hollow being trying desperately to fill the hole within them to no avail. A picture of what could have been, and of what used to be, now forgotten or ignored in favor of a new world that not all could adapt to. Caliburn is heartbreaking.

"What is there left to live for but to try and reach the top? It's only there that I have a chance of getting back... If at all..."
Character Backstory
"Melancholy I am, and a wanderer I may be. Fitting, I suppose, but that's not all to my story."
Ren Moto was nothing too special, or at least he thought so. Raised by a single mother who worked hard to provide for the both of them he learned from early on to be self-sufficient and independent as to keep some of the pressure off his beloved mother. So he worked hard to get good grades, made friends of everyone he could, tried as many different things as he could and even dated every now and again just to get more worldly experience, and overall tried to set himself up for success in the future. He, like many other people out there, also found amusement in videogames. One in specific caught his attention when it first came out, a game called Elder Tale. Joining at the very beginning he created his first and only character going by the name of Caliburn, the name of the sword from the stone. Ironically, he had chosen a Sorcerer as the class for this specific character. However, before he could truly get into the game, he had to focus more on his studies and other extracurricular activities, leaving him very little time to actually enjoy the game. Years later, after graduating from school did Ren find free time to get back into games. This would prove to be what he considers part of his undoing, as mere months after he had rejoined and had begun to rise through the levels quite quickly as a solo player, even managing to acquire the rare subclass Dragon Trainer as he climbed, did the unthinkable happen.
"I miss you Mom... Please... Stay safe..."
The Catastrophe took everyone by storm and swept them up into a world that they had all thought was virtual, but was now their reality. While some took it well enough, and some even were glad for an out from their monotonous or unexciting lives, Ren was anything but. He was heartbroken and inconsolable, put in such a slump that even his now sentient dragon partner couldn't bring him out of it. Two months passed like this, with Ren slowly coming to terms with the situation he was in and mourning what considered to be the loss of his mother, or more accurately her loss of him. Eventually, he did return to society and his old solo habits, except now his already high determination found a fire lit under it as he worked with a fervor beyond that of the obsessive, determined to reach the top as fast as possible, with as little help as possible, if only to fill himself with a false sense of accomplishment.
"Before he was Merlin, he was known as Myrddin. I honestly don't see why I was handed that nickname so long ago, but here I am. I suppose they saw a second coming of Merlin in me. They're probably wrong."

Orchid the Dragon
2wq6dkn.jpg
The Story
Orchid is a Dragon NPC around the size of a large eagle that Caliburn stumbled across around his mid levels. In a stroke of luck, and maybe slight stupidity he managed to tame her and from that unlocked the subclass Dragon Trainer. When the Catastrophe struck, Orchid gained sentience like all other NPCs and has since been a constant companion of Caliburn, as well as a mother hen to him. She is the one thing that Caliburn cares most about, with the feeling being mutual, and on top of that she is what keeps him grounded to the degree that he is.
"I swear if he doesn't eat more I will do him a heckin' nasty nom on the snoot."
Suffice to say it would be a mistake to try and harm Orchid in front of Caliburn, or vice versa, lest you find yourself on the receiving end of unending fury.

"Why does the sun have to be so hot?"
000_1.jpg
Character Name: Vanessa/ Mayumi Amari
Nick-names: Night Nurse; Big Sister; Sis; Neesan
Age: 23
Race: Human
Gender: Female
Class: Cleric
Subclass: Vampanella
Level: 90

Overskill
: None

Personality: Vanessa has a playful and flirty personality. Her usual expression consists of a playful smirk, sometimes it seems like she doesn't take things seriously, but underneath her smile lies a cunning mind. She playfully calls men around her age "tiger" or "big boy." She's sisterly and even a little maternal toward children, referring to girls as "sweetie" and boys as "buddy." As a Vampanella she dislikes sunlight. Before Elder Tale became a game she enjoyed sunbathing, but as a Vampanella it just makes her feel weak, hot, and sweaty; that's not fun at all.

Character Backstory: Mayumi is a gamer girl that has played Elder Tale since the beginning. She has stayed up late to grind or continue the story multiple times. She became interested in the Vampanella subclass after learning about it and completed the required quest line for it. After becoming a Vampanella she joined a guild called Night Stalkers, a guild for gamers that stayed up during the late hours of the night. The guild was located in Susukino. Mayumi honed her Vanessa persona within the guild. The guild later disbanded, but it was fun while it lasted. Now that she's stuck in the world of Elder Tale, she gets to feel what it's like to be a real Vampanella. It took some getting used do, but Mayumi/Vanessa doesn't regret it.

Equipment Loadout:
Head: Vampanella Hood: A hood a Vampanella can wear over his/her head to protect themselves a little from the sun.
Body: Alluring Vampanella Dress: A black, low cut dress with a fabric that looks like bat wings sticking out on the back.
Hands: Alluring Black Formal Gloves
Legs: Dark Purple Leggings
Feet: Black High Heeled Boots
Weapons: Dark Nurse Cleric Staff: A black and purple staff with the medical cross symbol on top. Boosts healing spells.
Accessory 1: Vampenella Black Umbrella: An umbrella with a bat design on the fabric. It helps protect a Vampenella from the sun.
Accessory 2: Dazaneg's Bag

Has a nightmare horse mount (A black horse that has some skeletal armor-like bits on its skin.)

Character participates in the American Server

Personality

Fun-loving but philosophical at heart, Skjorn is the type of girl that will break down any situation in hopes of finding something amusing. Optimistic would be another term to describe this peculiar combination of interest, as even in defeat she simply enjoys the experience for what it was. As such, it's actually pretty difficult to even imagine her falling into a situation of being stressed, a rarity in today's world, really. Though, when something does trouble her, she always sets out to figure out the solution.

Despite her normally calm demeanor, it's pretty easy to catch on to how she is feeling at any given moment. Not that she actually tries to hide it, it's just her mind is normally too busy to provide a more 'energetic' response. That is of course, until she reaches the peak of her excitement. Normally this occurs when her body is already in constant motion, along with her mind. Then she can prove to be a ball of energy, aggressively seeking a higher level of excitement.

Skjorn is actually rather intelligent, probably more so than she lets on. But she is always the first one to jump into some crazy plan that could otherwise be considered idiotic. This is again thanks to her curiosity on what would happen, even if the outcome is a loss.

As for socially, Skjorn is a relatively kind individual. As she will instinctively help others that are troubled in passing. But this is not to say she is a push over. She knows when to say no, especially when pressed in time. It's just that she doesn't mind helping others during her free time.

Short Backstory
Skjorn lived a relatively normal life, where there is nothing more to note than she was a big 'father's daughter'. Then again, who in this day and age has some big grandiose life story that they can rant on about for hours? If you are curious about her life before the Apocalypse, then it's best to ask her yourself. But good luck not falling asleep.

When Skjorn first found herself in this world, she panicked, truthfully. The sudden disconnection from her father rendering her incapable of proper thought for a number of days. However, as days passed she slowly returned to normal. Her mind was always racing, analyzing the situation, and attempting to figure out whatever pieces might have been missing. By all rights, she should enjoy this world far more than the former. But there was just one thing it was missing, that left a void. And to overcome that void, she did what she always does. She set out to fix it.

Character Name: Gyoken Sokutsu (In-Game and real life)
Nick-names: None. But currently holds the title of Dictator of Susukino.
Age: 23 In-Game and 29 (reality)
Race: Human

Gender: Male
Class: Samurai: Lv. 91
Subclass: Swordsmith: Lv.92
Overskill: Magical Sword Imbuement: Gyoken can imbue magic with swords that he has either created, or those he holds in his inventory. Currently he has only one sword made that has this Overskill attatched to it, as it takes immense amount of work to create a sword that is able to use magic in general, as it has never been heard of before, unless perhaps for certain raid equipment. Gyoken normally only uses elemental magic to be imbued in his sword.

Personality: Gyoken is naturally an honorable man, though his desire for power and control has corrupted him into becoming much less of what he once was when the Catastrophe began. Still holding the virtues of honor in a more twisted sense, Gyoken is careful and calculative until provoked. A flaw that he seems to throw to the wind nowadays. One could say he rivals Alistair in wit, but he clearly does not have the polished sense of impassiveness that Alistair wields when either in a predicament, or in general. Whereas Alistair remains unattatched for the sake of a better world, Gyoken holds emotions too close to himself and will burst when he feels challenged at all, and if his "perfect world" Is being delayed, he will crush all opposition with a near sadistic play of emotions.

Character Backstory: Gyoken came from a broken family, and at first when he found Elder Tale through his friends, he held the sense of honor high because he didn't want to emulate the wrongdoings of his family; drug dealing, murdering, black mail. You name it, Gyoken's family would be part of it. He hated that, and whenever he would play as his character he would bring chivalry and honor to everything he did. He chose swordsmith to emulate the "Samurai" feel of being able to create weapons much like they did in Feudal Japan. He worked his way up to becoming a Master Swordsmith and is well-renowned in Yamato Server. After the catastrophe, Gyoken began to slowly but surely descend into corruption, and was the mastermind behind the chaos that is befallen Susukino. He aims to create a perfect world where his beliefs of honor are upheld.

Equipment Loadout:

(Equipment Loadout set-up)

Extra: None.

Character Name: Kiotaro Matsumoto. Bacchus in game.
Nick-names: "The (Original) Drunken Master"
Age: 27 for both
Race: Human

Gender: Wielder of the Banana.
Class: Monk- lvl 95
Subclass: Brewer/Drunken Master- lvl 99
Overskill:
-Drunken Drunky Drunkard Drinkin Drunk: Minimum Blood Alcohol Level - 10.0. This is a rare and powerful overskill. Bacchus becomes so drunk, he starts to believe that he is in a tavern when he could be just about anywhere. But the thing is, if he ''picks up a chair to smash against his enemy" it WILL happen. No matter where he is. Basically his level of drunkenness affects the actual game layout, almost like a virus. Almost. He can materialize a tavern to fight in, including damn NPCs to fight his enemy with him.
-Drunken God: Minimum Blood Alcohol Level - 100.0. He begins steaming from the alcohol destroying his body, however his increased regeneration is also beyond anything comparable. His stats are insane. He basically can't be touched. This is basically his Super Saiyan God mode. And his perception is through the roof. But I mean. Blood Alcohol Level of 100.0 is pretty intense guys.

Personality: Kiotaro and Bacchus are one in the same. He saw no real reason why he should change who he was even if he was in a video game. Also he was hammered while making his character. It took him 35 minutes to spell Bacchus correctly. He isn't a dumb dude, or someone with a severe alcohol problem, he just really likes to party, feast, and be merry. He is a very friendly guy and even more friendly when he is plastered. He is one to laugh off insults and punch people in the face if they insult his friends. Except he may be misunderstanding something, because I mean, he's drunk. Often. He starts a lot of tavern brawls. Some of them are unprecedented.

Character Backstory: Kiotaro was born into a family of a brewers. His father was a supervisor for a sake company and his mother owned a general alcoholic beverages company. He grew up trying alcohol since he was a baby. Kiotaro was a bright student despite his lack of effort in school and really disliked all of the subjects. He needed to find a way to pass his time. Kiotaro was just old enough to start drinking in Japan (18?) When he found Elder Tale, the dude was at least tipsy almost every other day when he could drink. Kiotaro made a character who he thought would be incredibly fun to make, and since he is a very old player, he actually started out as a Potion Maker with his subclass and was very persistent on emailing the creators of Elder Tale to make a brew master subclass. Needless to say, his request was put into the idea box and eventually became a thing, giving Bacchus the ACTUAL title of "The Drunken Master" as dedication for Kiotaro's wonderful idea. He loved the character so much, he couldn't leave it. Kiotaro would get home from working at his mother's brewery, get drunk, and play Elder Tale.

Equipment Loadout: This guy has some pretty custom ish. The Drunk Monk set was a very specialized set of equipment that requires level 99 in the Brew Master/Drunken Master subclass and at least level 70 Monk

Set Items:

Head: Alcohol Soaked Headband: Phantasmal-Level item- Bacchus will always have at least a tipsy status.

Body: (He has this setting turned off) Robes of the Drunken Monk: Epic Level- Highly increased health and operate increase to evasion. Also make drunkenness and buffs last longer

Hands: Alcohol Soaked Bandages: Phantasmal Level- Greatly increased attack speed and attack power and automatic counterattack percentage (15%)

Legs: Slacks of the Drunken Monk: Epic Level- Increased speed of all kinds and makes it so Bacchus cannot trip while drunk.

Feet: Shoes of the Drunken Monk: Epic level- Increased power and speed.

Weapon: Fists of the Drunken Monk: Epic level- Greatly increased power and small boost to counterattack chance.

Accessories: Brew Master's Bag: Carries up to 10 liters of each alcoholic beverage Bacchus has created.

Character Appearance: MaleStrikerPortrait.png

Extra: I guess the only question is, when do I start?
