Futuristic DSO958: The Expedition

A light violently blinks at your terminal, beckoning you to to read the message that was sent to you, probably just another scam for a cheap ship. Opening the message you find it's from your employer, a rare site.


"Good morning, Star Crushers. I know it's been a while since we last got a contract and money is getting a bit tight for all of you, but we have a big one here. Some research team decided to go adventuring outside the the Safe Zone and found some giant space ship, they call it "DSO958". They said it's the size of a small moon, though I find that hard to believe. Since no human has ventured outside the Safe Zone before they think it's some "ancient alien wreck' though it's probably just some old station owned by thugs hiding out where no one would find them. Anyways the place is abandoned and they want to hire some of us to keep an eye on two of their eggheads as they go poking around inside. A quick, clean easy job. Just make sure those eggheads don't trip can kill themselves and you can expect to see a large credit number in your accounts soon."


Whether it's the money, the sense of adventure, or just an excuse to end your boredom, you eagerly grab your gear and head out to the space docks. Hopefully... you'll get a chance to return.




PLOT

DSO985: The Expedition is a roleplay centered around the exploration of an ancient alien derelict ship. The players will be taking on the roles of mercenaries working for the company Star Crushers, a smaller underdog company in a growing market. Star Crushers has been hired by Exploration And Mapping Of Unknown Spaces (ExMap) to escort two employees of theirs around the derelict ship. However what they don't know is that the previous owners of the ship are still roaming the halls of it... Large bipedal aliens, just over 3 meters tall, that used to be the owners of the ship all met with a horrific fate leaving their bodies mindless husks. What caused them to become like this is currently unknown, but what is known is that they will attack anything that isn't one of them.

The Rules

I'm not too strict of a person in charge, but I expect people to follow the standard rules of no god-modding, no trying to steer the plot around their character, no being an ass to the other RPers (you character, however, can be as much of an ass as he/she wants), stuff like that. The one thing I do want to enforce a bit, however, is manly how combat will go out. If you decide to attack an enemy, say something like "X takes aim at the creature, firing two shots towards it's head" and not "X aims at the creature, shooting it in the head and killing it." I'll decide things like if shots land or if the damage is enough to kill it.


Character Sheets

Time to let your creativity shine, since the company the characters work for is a ragtag team of mercs you can be as varied as you want (to a point). Before creating a character you might want to take a look at the Lore and Items pages ((once they actually exists)) for a little understanding of what some of the options are. And finally, for role. For obvious reasons I'm limiting the S.A.E.S. pilot role to one. Meaning whoever calls it gets it first.
