This moment happens in a flash, and it subdues her father. He goes to bed early, and when she checks on him later that evening to place some ice on the goose egg from the bottle, she finds him in the midst of a stroke. No one except the pair of them know about this altercation, and she leaves him in the hospital in the days to follow. She has not investigated his condition further other than to ensure that one of the members of his congregation, a woman he is now married to, took him home and nursed him back to health. Violet keeps tabs on her father now, but she has not spoken to him since she was 18. LIMB MANIPULATION — The ability to multiply and have her limbs appear on and through surfaces in her vicinity. This can look like a copy of her hand jutting off a wall or a set of arms stemming from and wrapping around another person's torso. This ability is heavily inspired by the Hana-Hana Fruit from One Piece.

[ 01. ] Violet can use these extra limbs just as her own body parts and there is no known time limit to this ability.
[ 02. ] Her limbs can be multiplied to a seemingly indefinite amount, though she has not tried more than 8 body parts at a time.

[ 01. ] These limbs are subject entirely to the same properties as her natural limbs, meaning any wounds on her duplicate limbs is transferred to her natural limbs. Thus, if she were to hold multiple limbs outside of her body at once, she would be at extreme risk of being hurt.
[ 02. ] Her actions with her duplicated limbs that appear on other surfaces require intense mental focus to maintain. She has to think of the specific limb she wants to move as they do not move according to what her natural limb is doing. Furthermore, if she wants to remove a limb from a surface or move it to another, she has to actively think this.

RÉMY ANTOINE — [ THE FIANCÉ ]. An apathetic and generally pathetic thirty-six year-old man of the tech-giant and politically motivated Antoine family. Much of the family's work has contributed to the improvement and furtherance of Heartbeat City, of which the family has been involved politically for the past thirty years. Rémy is currently campaigning for Mayor of Heartbeat, riding on a platform that Violetta is partially responsible for. In their 20s, the pair met at a party akin to a MET Gala afterparty, with the pair falling deeply in love and feeding into the other's dangerous desires for success. Violetta and Rémy attended law school together, getting engaged much to the happiness of the general public and social media, all while Violet maintained and furthered her acting career. Behind closed doors, the Antoine matriarch often commented on Violet's public image and how it softened and made Rémy's appear much more relatable. When Violet publicly helped Rémy's sister write the policy for the classification of superheroes, their engagement was given the full approval by the matriarch with Violet winning her over completely.

ELVIS MINELLINI — [ THE CHILD STAR ]. A former friend of Violet's that she appears to still be friends with, albeit she has steered clear of him in recent years. His drug abuse plays out in the public stage in the tabloids, not making for a great mix, especially when Violet wants to maintain a low profile. Elvis's status as a child star was what initially drew eyes to Violet, who began her life of fame on social media.

RONNIE VOLKOV — [ THE ROCKSTAR ]. Another former friend, whom Violet had a very public falling out with. Rumors of their problems still follow Violet, even after the tabloids have stopped murmuring her name. Ronnie is more popular than ever, albeit she does not have popstar-level fame. Her genre of music is most akin to pop-influenced riot grrrl, which is often criticized and mocked by anyone in the alt scenes.

Two weeks before Rémy and Violet are to be wed, a post by Violet on her social media account shows that the wedding is canceled. Photos taken show that the engagement is a painful endeavor for both parties, and rumors fly that Violet was unfaithful, causing many to fall out of favor with her. It is believed, at a certain point, the tabloids and other media outlets are paid off by the Antoine family to cease coverage on the engagement.

MANDARIN PARADOX + LIES — Ultimately, Violet's current state has been caused by her own secrets and scheming, but she has not actually learned to stop doing that. In particular, she has no need to. The Mandarin Paradox is a thought experiment that illustrates that one will not do the morally correct thing if one can get away with the moral wrong. In essence, Violet's choices are made to a similar maxim: if she can get away with it, she will. I don't go into it very much, but obviously she's had to fabricate much in order to succeed at her lies. I would love to explore that further, especially if the truth threatens to come out.

BETRAYAL — In an effort to make the sheet as clean and clear as possible, I don't dwell on the facts too much, especially as Vi is still, at the end of the day, in the wrong. However, I would say that she is, to a degree, a woman scorned. Her mother ostracized and abused her in her childhood, and their argument that led to her death is one relating to Violet's abilities and the fact that, at the time, she was dating Ronnie. This is what has given Violet her audacious spirit and unending drive.
Furthermore, the engagement is perhaps the biggest way in which she has been betrayed. Rémy, while a lovely boy, consistently allowed his family to underplay Violet's significance in his life, and his breaking off of the engagement was more so caused by his family, given he forgave her and said verbatim that he would not have broken her heart if he had "any say in the matter." Her years of tending to their relationship, of completely changing her life path, and of doing things that she might not have approved of otherwise (such as the proposition she helped write and codify) were thrown away. Of course, she fails to see her whole life is setting people up for betrayal. I would love to explore further the way in which she is mildly cognizant of the fact that everything and everyone she touches is cursed, especially while she is lying still.

THE AMERICAN DREAM — Much of Violet's motivation stems from the fallacy of the American Dream. She lies and hides facets to herself, such as her past and her abilities, for this end. In large ways, she has been very successful, and she almost "won," so to speak. However, these motives and her proud support of capitalistic structures has caused many in the media to speculate on the truth behind her engagement and if she ever actually loved Rémy. Beyond this, there is also the fact that she hasn't actually succeeded, that the American Dream is perhaps not the true and logical path she so wants it to be. I definitely would like to explore how her involvement in the heroes, especially on the political end, plays into this as well. I would love for her arc to be her realizing how unfulfilling this pursuit has been and how it has caused her to hurt others on both a personal and at-large scale.
