Mighty Dragon of The Pit
Special Places in Aventador

Aventador, while too big to be considered an island and too small to be considered a continent, is a kingdom ruled by a single Royal family and line of dragons. It has many landscapes due to the fact that it is a group of varied environments in the form of islands, the largest being at the center and the main island on which each citizen lives, and smaller ones scattered and grouped around various points. Due to the different climates, remaining humans have grown to tame a wide selection of animals adapted to the environment in which they live [see Lore], as had humans with Dragons on the main island, which is titled the same.

The Hatchery

The Hatchery

With a name that explains it all, the hatchery is a specified place on the North East branch of Aventador where dragons have come to lay their eggs and raise offspring for as far as time has stretched back. While the landscapes may differ according to the type of dragon that may approach to lay their eggs in the numerous hatcheries situated around the country, this hatchery is known for the large migration of Mountain and Pass dragons that come to breed and lay their eggs. Offspring are raised here, and, if given by the mother dragon, eggs are commonly gifted from this location to an awaiting rider or stabler. Humans rarely intervene with the dragons during breeding season, as many of the creatures grow aggressive and difficult to approach in the wild.[/font]
The Gateway

The Gateway

As simple as the picture depicts, the Gateway is a bond between two sections of Aventador; the southern area in which humans have kept as their civilisation since they have arrived and the rest of the island, which is owned exclusively by dragons. As this was established during the war, the boundaries have just about fallen away, with dragons in the human area and humans in the dragon, although it still remains a prominent part in history and serves as a border for a majority of beasts and people. It stands at the beginning pass of the northern, mountainous region of the island, almost at an exact halfway point of the main island.
Frycas Grove

Frycas Grove

Home to the majority of known magic, both good and evil, Frycas Grove is a forest of enchanting fungi and plants which grow to monstrous sizes and become too alluring to be a good idea. It grows along the middle of the island in a curved shape, mainly bunching along the South Western side. Humans often fear the unknown, and thus are commonly scared of passing through the Grove during a journey or out of an adventure's sake. Some are said to have gone in and never returned; wrapped up by toxic weeds and pollen which causes hallucinations. The wildlife there is sparse, as it has never been investigated further than the first five hundred feet into the path by ones who are interested in knowing more.

Many antidotes and spell ingredients are found here, as well as treats to dragons, such as Dragon Root. Natural medicines stem from this forest, especially powerful plants that made their way into fables with the abilities they possess, though have been dispersed and grow in different towns and are produced in mass, rather than sought after in Frycas. Most naturally grown items are found here, though have already been exported and are grown outside of the forest: it includes fruit, medicines, herbs, poisons and plants, some with magical abilities and some without.
Elder's Pass

Elder's Pass

The pass has been known to harbour many of the elders which have exposed themselves to the human species. It is often dizzying and unadvisable for a young dragon to enter before learning wisdom and kindness, as it is said that the souls of Elders are embedded in the walls and the fluorescent creatures that float around the glowing stream; the body of water which has slowly but surely carved the pass into the earth. Religion is often based on this pass, as are many mythical stories, and the pass leads through to the Valley of the Ancients.

The Valley of the Ancients

The Valley of the Ancients is a valley in which many waterfalls and streams lie, creating large rock beds of trickling, fresh water. It holds the bodies of the first two elders who had reached the highest form of enlightenment, which caused their bodies, when they were old and frail, to turn to stone as become one with the land. There are many misconceptions about this site, as humans had not existed when the act first took place; there are stories about elaborate scams and the tale of true magic, each different according to the person telling the story. Genuine in history or not, the sight is one that many refuse to miss if given the chance.

Obseron Falls

These majestic waterfalls, said to be held up by magic, tilted gravity and even by tiny strings that lead to the heavens, are the water source of Aventador. While not huge, they form a forest-like mass at the highest flat altitude of the main island - which is not awfully high, as it is a very flat land over the majority of the mass-

Regions of Aventador

Aventador is made up of five separate island masses. They are usually named after the mainland and considered the entire region, but specific separations have their own names due to their different environments and their size; Aventador, the mainland; Pleoth, the icy separation situated North of the mainland which is more inhabited; the Outlands, the area filled with death and dark magic where people rarely go; the Barrens, a desert island where dragons have reverted back to their roots to mimic lizards in order to withstand the harsh exposure; and the lesser known Timberland, an island which is barely explored and holds a great amount of mystery around the thick jungle and the weird creatures seen mulling around on the shore.

Pleoth

Archipelago of Pleoth

The second of four separations of Aventador, Archipelago of Pleoth, named after the frozen Pleoth Gulf which it is situated on, is the largest separation off the main island. It is also the largest, though, due to its nature of being made of constantly shifting ice caps and glaciers, tends to split and broaden the amount of ocean which it takes up. During winter, the short gap between the mainlands of Aventador and Pleoth is closed and frozen over, creating a thick, walkable gateway over the ocean. It is home to many creatures, including the elusive ice dragon, Camadraum, Bleapseleon and Maura, or 'ice horse'.
The Outlands/Badlands

The Outlands

The Outlands, once the burial grounds for dragons when humans were nothing more than cumbersome apes, are the largest section of seemingly never-ending islands that are located just a few miles west of Aventador. The ruins of ancient civilisations now stand in the scorched sands and large, sharp cliffs; rubble and gravel coat the ground and a dark cloud or thick mist seems to congeal into the area. The grounds are treacherous for humans to navigate, as well as most dragons; with a 'dog eat dog' atmosphere, nightmares are around every corner. These nightmares manifest in the rotting body of a dragon; plagued by dark magic and being eaten by the effects of such - quite literally in some instances.

In some cases, criminals with many sins on their heads are sent to die. It is considered worse than the death penalty, as the fates of the humans sent into the thick mist are never truly known. It is thought to be the origin of dark magic and where it was first practised, resulting in grotesque reanimations of rotting dragons and creatures alike, some skeletons, some alive with the festering flesh dripping from their bodies. The land is littered with bodies and deep chasms that dig deep into the earth, as well as jagged, uprising cliffs and mountain ranges.
The Barrens

The Barrens

The Barrens is a grouping of two pieces of land, the second largest and third discovered of the four, named after the vast desert landscape that coats the land in sand and a large webbing of cracked and broken rock formations: most hallowed by previous settlers who seemed to vanish without a trace. While not as inhabited and dark as the Outlands, it has a very similar terrain, with a sandy desert right up to the coast and very little vegetation apart from shrubs and cactuses. While the chasms that split the earth open are extremely deep and could kill if one fell in, they are often used by the animals for shade during the day and are filled with burrows in the walls. Apart from the reptile-like dragons along its surface, it also has a small population of bulky antelope and little birds, as well as a large seal population on the cliffs that line the northern part of the island.
