Where will we spend eternity?
A normal world. A girl is continuing her life as she would have any other day. Perhaps a librarian? Perhaps a bookstore keeper? But one day everything changes. It wasn't subtle. The news started streaming what seemed to be doppelgangers of each other murdering the other. Though not complete doppelgangers, but different. Murderous. Malice. Darker. Hairstyles differ, but everything else is the same. Shadows of oneself. Maybe our shadows were tired of being just shadows. They wanted to be the "real" person. Live their other halves life.
A few hours of this carnage continued. This "cleansing.' Finally, the girl comes face to face with the deranged looking version of herself. She wasn't smiling like the rest. Her energy was darker, but this shadow didn't try to kill her. In fact, this obsessive and deranged shadow... loved her other half. She had watched her other half her whole life. She never wanted to kill her. Only meet her. Be with her.
This reckoning was her chance.
