"Growf!"
This is the story about someone who discovers an antique oil lamp, the sort you see in movies about djinn, at a flea market, garage sale or maybe even a bazaar while on a vacation. The human of our story is an underdog. I have a couple story seeds - character backgrounds for the one who finds the djinn. But I am not limited to these. Basically the human will be someone with real problems, real needs.
Teenager being bullied in school.
The college dropout who is taking care of his or her sick parent or younger siblings in the wake of parents’ death. Inner city, farm, running a shop or restaurant.
A professional who has concentrated so hard on a career that they never took time to have a life. They live a lonely, solitary life of work, eat, sleep - repeat.
Again, just a couple of ideas. If you have something else in mind, try me. Although this isn't a tagged as a romance, I do enjoy romantic themes. It is more about wish fulfilment.
About the Djinn
This Djinn will not be based on Hollywood lore. Rather it will eventually reveal many of the aspects of the djinn of Arabic mythology. There is nothing to say that your character cannot, given the chance, consult online sources, ask religious or magical specialists, etc.
How the djinn will reveal itself will depend on your character. But I will suggest caution. This is inspired to a degree by the new movie. My djinn will probably appear completely different. Might be a she instead of a he.
Your CS can be fairly simple, a pic and a modest description. If you have something more detailed, that’s also fine.
