RYUJI
1670073541020.png

ryuji grunts as his hand as stuck , luigi's sword almost slashes his head but goes foreward and slashes at the demon almost cutting his head off but missing just slightly.
the demon grits his teeth and pulls his hands away slammin ryuji in the stomach sending him back.
before swinging at luigi and missing.
ryuji gets the wind kocked out of him as he stumbles back with a thumb sized hole in the side of his stomach.
he holds his stomach trying to stop the bleeding. he gulps and takes a deep breath almost blacking out .
it goes black for a second then the light comes back to his eyes.
........
he can almost feel the texture of the grass touching his feet .
he's in the demon slayer mansion he was taken to when he was a kid , he remambers this day , it was a couple of months after he got there .
this is it , the day he started wanting to be a demon slayer .
that day a man came in , another demon slayer , a bulky guy with blond hair.
the man didnt appear to be hurt and just stepped in for some reason , ryuji was swinging around a bamboo sword when he accidentally hit his head and caused himself to bleed , the kid was sitting there crying when the man walked up to him.
the man sits next to him helping him out , at that time ryuji had been training for atleast a month and even small wounds like that hurt.
"hey hey hey calm down kid , lets plug that wound up now , just follow my instructions"
that day ryuji learned how to clog up small wounds with his breathing .
the man stands up after seeing ryuji's smile , he takes of his shoe , showing ryuji his prosthetic leg .
"i was out there when i was ambushed by a gang of those bastards , i took the expression break a leg too literally" says the man laughing " i clogged up the wound using that same technique , thats why i was here to get it patched up"
........
ryuji is snapped back to reality by the demon going for another swing only for the demon slayer to dodge.
ryuji stands behind the club handed demon , eyes empty off all emotions .
he takes a deep breath.
"what now slayer , you think you can take another swing , with that wound you're pracitcally usele-"
ryuji feels as if the blood vessels in his side are shut.
he's almost chocked out but manages to catch his breath.
"combustion breathing , forth form"
ryuji sheathes his sword , and lowers his body down to the ground .
the demon laughs watching ryuji practically make himself a living targer.
the monstrous creature dashes at ryuji, time feels like its slowed down .
ryuji looks like he didnt even move.
the demon stands there , he tries to take a swing at ryuji , but out of nowhere his head falls from his body. a thud is heard as the demons hand's hit the ground.
"daaamn iiiit"
the demon fades into nothing , and ryuji stands up finally letting air out of his lungs .

"Hey, watch it! You almost killed me!" said Luigi nervously as he almost got decapitated by Ryuji's sword while he was trying to fight off the demons. While fighting alongside him and fighting against other demons, he gained a better advantage, considering that it seemed impossible to deal with at first. His fighting style was subpar at first but he was a pretty skilled demon slayer at best. Even though he was dealing with the absurd, Luigi managed to remain focused on the task at hand. Although Ryuji was almost on the verge of losing when the demon took the upper hand for the unexpected. Luigi was going to help him but he discovered that Ryuji could handle it on his own. Perhaps, his deep breathing and tranquil mind might've relinquished his fighting spirit. Maybe it was just luck.

"You can do it, Ryuji! Go give him hell! Don't let that bastard defeat you!" Luigi cheered him on despite him not paying any attention so he didn't hear him. Finally, as soon as Ryuji defeated the demon with all of his might, it was over at last. However, Luigi was almost done fighting against the demons, putting his subpar fighting ability to the test. His sword fighting skill was fairly decent compared to his rather mediocre hand-to-hand combat skill. He did so well.

"Well, that should be all of them... Now, we can..." Luigi suddenly stopped speaking mid-sentence. A giant demonic red spider emerged from the ground, only for it to quickly prepare for the attack against him and Ryuji. It was not over yet and they still had a long way to go. "You gotta be kidding me..." his jaw dropped in shock.

As she continued to stare at the person, the tapping of her blade remained audible. He was unlike any demon the young Slayer had ever met before. Most demons she had met either didn't talk or liked the sound of their own voice too much but constantly went on about how they would kill and eat you, so this one was a shocking change. The demon was joking around, providing the answers she sought, and didn't even try to hide the fact that he was, in fact, a demon.

When the demon commented on Chiyoko's serious voice, Chiyoko burst out laughing. For him to remain so composed under pressure led her to believe that he was either telling the truth about their situation or was much stronger than he appeared. Can it be done? Could a demon simply exist by drinking stored blood rather than fresh from humans and sleeping? The young Slayer was curious to say the least about meeting such a demon after hearing rumors of them from other members of the Demon Slayer Corps but she had never met one. Surely just like some humans are evil some demons must be good.

The act of stopping a demon from attacking Chiyoko didn't go unnoticed and it was then that she had fully made up just what to do with this demon. While it is possible for a demon to change their appearance, Chiyoko has now memorized his speech pattern and is familiar with his mannerisms; should he be lying, she would then seek him out and kill him, though she has more pressing matters to attend to. The familiar crunching, ripping, and slurping of hundreds of demons' teeth didn't register at first, and she assumed that the noise came from just a select few but just in the few moments she was talking had revealed just how wrong she was. She felt a bead of sweat fall from her forehead as her eyes focused on the demon in front of her in the stadium that held tens of thousands.

Chiyoko fumbled around in her pocket before pulling a business card out. The card had several details on it and that identified Chiyoko Kasumi as the head Sensei at The Flowing Mist Dojo, had her contact information and the dojo's address. The previous owner's name, Daisuki Kasumi, had been crossed out. She placed a notch in it card and slotted onto her sword's blade and swung it at the demon, stopping millimeters from his neck.

"I've got a deal for you rather than killing you."
The previously grave tone of Chiyoko's voice had been replaced by one that was more lighthearted and playful.
"Take this card and get in touch with me sometime; you're an oddity, and I'd like to find out more about you."
Removing the blade from near his neck and raising it slightly to place the card in front of the demon's face.
"That's it, that's the deal; in exchange, I'll do what I can to shield you from the corps until I determine whether or not you pose a threat to humanity; and hey, maybe you'll pick up some useful skills; it is a dojo, after all."
She spoke again, continuing to hold her blade in front of his face until he took the card and extended her left hand for a handshake.
"Deal?"
Of course, the demon could always just run away, in which case Chiyoko would have no choice but to let him go. The sheer number of demons in the area meant that until she was prepared it was too risky to attract more attention, but luckily they were currently more interested in feasting than hunting new prey and the presence of the demon in front of her helped keep her hidden.

Chiyoko heard the sounds of battle close by, giving her hope that she might have a better chance of survival if she could join forces with the other assumed slayers she had heard. Assuming she could find them after she finished with this person, that is. She could only hear them at the moment, and making it past the army of demons to where the sound of combat was coming from was going to be just as difficult as it sounded, but it was the girl's best chance to fight back. But as for now, the demon before her was all that mattered.

With chaos erupting from within the confines of the tournament building, a hooded figure sat high above the adjacent building while they slouched over eyeing the facility in silence. The figure was well aware of those within the building, such as the demons battling other demons, slayers who had finally revealed themselves from hiding, and even ordinary people running and hiding for their lives. The sight of all this was humorous to the figure, watching the humans attempt to escape while the slayers and other demons fought in the sense of trying to be 'heroes' was like watching children fight against the incoming waves from the ocean. No matter how much they tried, the number of demons would never drop and while they attempted to save the lives of some of the humans, in the meantime, others would be slaughtered around them.

Minutes passed and eventually the rooftop of the building the hooded figure sat upon began to shake in a repeated pattern. Even without paying any mind to the sensation, the hooded figure was well aware of what had been causing the shaking. As the shaking of the rooftop became heavier with the source approaching the figure from behind, eventually the figure would turn their head over their shoulder towards the individual that stood behind them. "Do not worry my pet. You will be able to feast soon enough.." The figure's speech was deep and distorted making it practically impossible to determine the gender of them other than the confirmed fact that they clearly were not human.

The enormous unknown threat that resided behind the figure soon let loose a wailing screech into the night sky causing multiple of the glass panes of the building that the figure sat upon to crack and shatter after hearing that it must continue to wait longer.
Annoyed on the fact that his command did not settle the creature, the hooded figure raised their head from their hood ever so slightly only to give off a quick glance of a single crimson eye that glimmered in the moonlight before multiple of the creature's limbs practically imploded upon itself causing the creature to shriek out in agony. "Kneel." Would be the only followed up response as the hooded figure lowered their head once more towards the stadium. With the pain the creature had been experiencing, it was practically deaf to the sounds of its master's command as it writhed in pain from its lost limbs that was slowly regenerating. "I SAID. KNEEL." With a much louder and erupting tone of voice that practically shook the entirety of the building and even a small radius of the ground surrounding it, the creature was forcibly dropped onto its knees with a loud crack of the cement by a seemingly unknown force of intense gravity weighing over its body.

With the pressure of the unknown gravity holding down the unknown threat, the creature was overwhelmed by the fact it struggled just to keep its head from being buried into the ground that the pain of losing its limbs was no longer a concern. "You shall obey and strike only when I say you may." After reiterating their point, the hooded figure had finally released the immense amount of pressure and before long the limbs that had been removed had rapidly regenerated leaving the creature bowing its head down and retreating back into the darkness of the shadows upon the rooftop.

憤怒
Marumachi Ryutan
A Kind Warrior's Fury
Tokyo, Japan
So much bloodshed and violence had already occured in such a short amount of time in the arena, the screams of families and horrifying crunches of demons feasting away filled Ryutan's ears, being disgusted by the demons and their vile actions. No matter how many of the demons he killed, more appeared from what felt like thin air and attacked the people he was trying to protect. The putrid smell of blood overcoming his senses and almost driving him to insanity, though his will alone helped him power through as he dashed off towards another screaming innocent in hopes of saving them.

He made it to the to see a young lady on the ground, already highly injured as she was being chased by one of the many demons in the arena. With a simple swipe of his shortened sword he killed the inferior demon and turned to the lady, she backed away in fear but the boy gave a silent smile to ensure he meant no harm. So he would help the woman to her feet and would start escorting her to the exit, since he had the feeling she wouldn't be able to make it on her own. Though this didn't last long as a demon suddenly jumped past Ryu, and he was unable to react to the sudden attacker. "Help... me-" The woman mumbled out before the demon had taken her to the ground, instantly killing her by plunging his hand into her heart. The demon would start to feast as Ryu watched in disbelief, and past memories started to flood his brain.

"Help me... Mochi..."

A voice from the boy's past would echo in his mind as anger started to flood his brain and place him into an undeniable rage. Before the demon could react to Ryu's sudden movement, it's head was already cleaved from the neck, Ryu having used the first form of Wind-Breathing to quickly dispatch the demon. More started to surround Ryutan, seeing that while he was a demon just like them, he was not one taking place in the feast. They started to swarm him, scratching and biting indiscriminately as an attempt to stop him from slaying anymore demons. Though this strategy would fail rather quick as all of the demons on top of the boy would jump away as he threw his blade, killing three more demons before it stuck into the wall.

"You all will not make it out of here unscathed..." Ryu started with a serious tone, glaring at the group of demons surrounding him as his yellow eye faded to a bloody red. "I will make sure of that." The boy would charge ahead, using devastating close-quarters combat to decimate his demonic foes rather quickly. While he may not be able to kill them without his sword, the damage he was inflicting was greater than what their regeneration could handle, leaving these fodder demons unable to act anymore. As he finished that first wave of them, more had appeared, staring at the rogue demon with crazed looks in their eyes. Though instead of remaining somewhat calm like he had beforehand, a crazed smile appeared on his face as he looked at the next wave.
"Hehe... HAHA! You all want to be the next fools to be beaten?! Then allow me!"

With that, the enraged Ryu fought against two more waves of various demons with nothing but his close-quarters fighting style. He wanted the demons there to suffer like the innocent humans there had been due to this rampage. So he would crush bones, rupture internal organs, rip and tear through demon after demon to make them unable to battle as most of them were lucky to even scratch him during this period of rage. After a few minutes of this slaughter, Ryu would be the only one standing since the three waves of demons had failed to subdue him. "Hehehehe. Poor souls, couldn't keep up?" The boy laughed a bit as he started to look around for the next horde to slay.

Ryu seemed completely different than before, his arms covered in blood and his constant concentration breathing having become a visible black, almost like smoke and smog at this point. Only those with a good sense of smell would be able to guess that he wasn't killing humans, but fighting demons. He knew he had to be careful since he could he seen as an enemy by the demon slayers while like this, but at this point he didn't care if he was seen as their foe. He wanted more of these damned demons to suffer a horrid fate.

Malina watched the chaos from above. with a soft smirk she took another deep breath and inhaled the contents from her dragon shaped pipe before she exhaled a cloud of black smoke. the contents she had put in the pipe had relaxed her causing her to sigh in a soft yet pleasured tone. she then turned her pipe over and dumped the now charmed and burned tobacco over the edge of the light she sat upon before standing up looking out around her "Well it be best to head back but who's to say I can cause a little chaos?~" a ball of fire slowly grew in her hand as she began throwing them down at any human or demon running rampant through the stadiums.

Soon she hopped off and towards the stands. she landed down with a hard thud and stood to her feet. "Well I guess I have time before Kobayashi's done cooking" she turned to a group of demons running at her and began to spew fire from her wrist towards the demon's burning them. however he sadistic smile became one of annoyance seeing the demons rise up from the ground an rush towards her. "Great fireproof demons just my luck!" She ran up the stands as the demons chased her "Fuckin hell wish I had brought Kobayashi's sword..."

Ko continued to keep his guard up whilst being questioned by the slayer. The fact that her hand was still tapping on her sword was just a reminder to him that his life was in her hands.

As the woman burst out laughing, Ko just followed with a small, nervous giggle. He wasn’t that funny, was he? No, of course not. She was probably making fun of him. After all, she’s the one with the high ground, not him. In a split second, his head could be rolling on the floor as his body disintegrated. She was clearly studying him and trying to associate previous knowledge to his words and thoughts and see if they lined up. From her expression through her laughter, though, it seemed like she believed him, or was actually able to make a connection. Thought it all, though, she still seemed very curious towards him like he was a newly-discovered species of… something.

He hadn’t thought anything of his sending off of the demon trying eyeing Chiyoko, but after, it looked like something had clicked within her. Not only that, but it seemed the weight of the situation had finally set in as that bead of sweat ran down her forehead. He wasn’t one of the only demons there, there were thousands engaging in the carnage. He was the least of her concerns, and yet she focused on him. She was going to have to kill as many of the thousands of demons as she could; it was her job, after all. He had no idea of exactly what was going through her head, let alone his own, but in that moment he got an idea that just might work. It was a bit crazy, and not to mention a stretch, but it just might work. Besides, nothing could go wrong and no harm could be done even if it did or didn’t work.

Ko’s mind started to wander from the current conversation, but only a moment after, he was brought back by the sound of the blade being unsheathed and something being pierced. When he turned back around, he found the tip of a blade hovering right by his neck. If he tried anything, he would be dead before he had the chance to actually set it in motion. He pressed himself back further against the wall he was already against and raised his chin up as to make the gap between the sword and him slightly larger. When the woman introduced her proposal, Ko just nodded nervously. “Right…” he replied.

Despite still being terrified of the blade and the woman altogether, her more playful mood lightened the tension just a bit, and in turn he released some of the tension in his muscles. He was fine, though a blade towards the neck wasnt all that conventional. She explained that she wanted to learn more about him and how he's an 'oddity', which didnt necessarily take Ko by surprise after seeing the bloodbath around him, but he was still wary of the slayer. He would have to contact her at night, and by showing up at to the place given on her business card considering he doesnt have any other way of contact, but it could very well work so long as she didnt mind pulling an all nighter in return for learning about the boy. As the card rose to his face and she presented the final deal, he took into consideration the events so far and came to a fairly quick conclusion.

'This woman will probably kill me on the spot if I refuse her offer, and she'll definitely hunt me down if I accept but never actually follow through.'

So it was then that he decided that the best course of action would be to accept the offer and actually comply with it. It didn’t seem like there was any fine print to to deal, either. The dojo could be useful, especially considering Ko doesn’t know how to fight, at all. Not only that, but he never had to worry about the corps before because he wasn’t actually on their radar. That, and he never left his little cabin in the woods. Now that he has, and is indeed on their radar, protection wasn’t guaranteed, so this was the best case scenario. Of course, he was aware that meant that he probably wasn’t going to be very secluded anymore, and instead obviously associated with the corps. He was pretty confident he didn’t pose any form of threat to humanity, though, so being executed became the least of his worries.

When the woman finished her proposal, Ko nodded and took the card off of the sword by pinching the ends so much as to not get any closer to the blade than he had to. After skimming over the card, he looked back up at her. Chiyoko Kasumi was her name, and that dojo of hers was probably full of Demon Slayers in training. Regardless, extended his pale, slightly veiny, and cold hand to accept the handshake.

“Right… It’s a deal. I’ll uhm… I’ll make sure to stop by your dojo soon. Soon as in, uhh… tomorrow night at the earliest. Yeah, tomorrow night.” he replied.

Once finished with the notion of the handshake, and aware that Chiyoko may want to return to her job, Ko gave a slight bow to the woman and began to walk off. Once out of her sight, he began to run. He ran up the stairs of the arena and didn’t stop until he had reached one thing in particular. That thing was the press box. The idea he came up with when talking to Chiyoko was simple. He could use what he heard from one of the confusing discussions he had overheard earlier to try and convince the demons that he was one of their ‘boss’s’ subordinates and that he just got orders telling them to leave. It was foolproof.

Once making his way to the press box, Ko had one teensy weensy problem. He didn’t know how to turn the intercom on. He stood there, staring at the control panel full of buttons and sliders and levers that did god knows what for a few moments before deciding to just press buttons that looked like they would do something useful. First, he pressed rectangular and semi-transparent red button next to a speaker, only for him to get soaked by the emergency sprinkler he accidentally turned on. He immediately scrambled for an off switch to it, which took about 5 minutes to find, then began to rethink how he was going to approach this task. Of course, he didn’t put too much thought into it, and continued to mess with sliders and buttons until he got a result. Of the results he got, most were accidentally triggering soundboard items like a bell sound used for the end of fights, a fire alarm, police siren, laughter, and the like. All of which could be heard over the loudspeaker and announcement system throughout the arena.

In the end, he searched until he found a microphone. It was on an adjustable rod connected to the panel, and at the base was a board exclusively for the microphone that Ko felt he should have been able to find sooner. Regardless, he flipped the switch clearly labeled “ON/OFF” and then turned the volume all the way up. After getting a bit of eardrum-bursting feedback, he held down on the button that would unmute the microphone. He then tapped on it a few times to make sure it was actually on, and it was, because the echoing boom of his finger hitting the microphone resided throughout the arena with a rattling noise.

“Listen up! I uhhh… I just got a message from The Boss. Yeah, and he uhh… he said that the feast is now officially over! Leave already and report back to The Boss or else they’ll have to ehhh… punish you for disloyalty towards them! So drop everything, finish eating and leave immediately! Don’t keep that guy waiting..!” he announced, with his best, equivalent to the worst, improv he could muster at the moment. He then muted the microphone by releasing the button and peered over the window to watch. Of course they would listen to a fellow demon, especially a messenger! This idea was genius, so much so that Ko was going to give himself a pat on the back for it, when he realized that, while he had grabbed a small number of the demon’s attentions, they were ignoring him and laughed it off while going right back to feasting whilst those who didn’t even bat an eye to his announcement continued throughout.

Smoothly, this time, he turned the microphone back on and tried to act a bit more confident and serious by dropping his voice so he sounded a bit more like someone who would be an evil henchman, in his eyes. By that, it was like that of a grown man, rough, and sharp. Hard to maintain, sure, but if it worked, and when it worked, it would all be worth it. “Hey! I’m being serious. The last thing I want to do is clean up another one of their massacres because you dumbasses didn’t listen to The Boss! Stop being so self absorbed in your god damn feast and report back to them immediately.”

When it worked, because it would work. Although Ko’s faith in his ‘master plan’ was failing, he still needed to put some sort of confidence in it, otherwise it genuinely would fail…

At this point, Ko was getting a bit more unsure of just how foolproof this plan was. Regardless, he continued to anxiously survey the events from the press box window to see if he could (hopefully) get more of a reaction from the demons inside.

Heath Di'Sabatino
The Bare-Boned Demon
theme

Well, well, fuck me sideways and call me Crystal...
Because in what seemed like seconds, the arena too, was stripped of her dignity; her doors coated in red with the blood of innocent tourney-goers; her field and floors riddled with countless victims and uncanny-valley hellspawn. In other words...a demon's red-light district paradise.
And in each pleasure house, chaos reigned as the ultimate mistress. No matter where Heath looked, there her great, thorny crown reared, greedy fingers dipped deep into a thousand bloody pies; hollowing out human gut, licking off striated flesh, tearing flimsy dough for skin apart. Some were butchered down to strings of organ cheese in a blink, while others had time stretched on a rack. Bodies whole, but minds broken by the fear sparked between the last two vestiges of consciousness rubbed together by their respective demon predator, all for torment's sake.

Baby Tooth's gunshot was a pebble skimming past an ocean of noise, ripping through enemy attention like fabric. Torn away from their meals, Heath counted at least eight bloodshot, ravaging eyes on their little circle.
Those not doomed to a few years of pure, blind bloodlust held themselves back, demonic savagery bleeding into simple animalistic uncertainty. Unable to articulate or square the anomaly before them, whose body already cemented itself protectively in front of the female human and her companions.

Snap, crackle, and pop. Like flakes of cereal, Heath downed a handful of animal teeth, right in time with Valerie's own bone-cracking kicks and elbow shots. Two and a half minutes, his blood art whispered. "Two and a half minutes..." Heath leveled his arm, taking a moment to aim. Should be just enough fucking time.

In an instant, his pointer and middle fingers detonated off their sockets, bone fragments rapid-firing through two freshly-turned lunging towards him, leaving their hesitancy in the dust. Before the web of holes decorating their bodies could regenerate, his crimson blade cut cleanly through their necks, a full set of fingers regenerated and wrapped tightly around the handle.

Not a second later, the pitter-patter of frenzied feet. It was the little girl, free from the grip of the sumo-wrestler demon and making a rapid beeline past him for the exit. An exit swarming with stragglers she herself was too short to notice, all looking to catch an easy meal.

"Fuck!" Heath spat out under his breath. "Where the hell are you going, small fry---"

He dove to catch her, but one look over tiny shoulders spelled out what she saw. It wasn't a move to add a defenseless child to Valerie's protective circle, but just another demon lunging for his next meal. To her credit, the side-step was impressive, but this was no little league soccer game. Heath had barely a moment to register her dying shriek before losing his balance to the floor, which now shook to the tune of two demonic fatasses.

His fist met the tiles, jaw clenching to contain the burst of frustration. "Stupid, stupid kid---"

Yet no matter whose day off it was supposed to be, there certainly would be no rest for the weary. Before he knew it, a staggering return back onto his feet was interrupted. Dog-piled back to the floor by the three of the four remaining demons summoned by Fang's gunshot, Heath had just enough time to fire another bone scattershot into the last demon, its body halting a knee's width away from Valerie, before going under.

❂

Ravenous jaws, brainless beastly strength, and newly-grown talons pierced through his skin. More than just three it felt like, as if in all the madness, other demons took notice and mistook it for a human being devoured. Pain bobbed its head periodically, like little Morse code blips in between lines of regeneration. By now, Heath knew he'd used up a good minute and a half. If he wanted to continue to uphold his end of the bargain, he'd need to find fuel, and fast.

For now, it was time to fight cage with cage. Undulating like a pack of sea otters in river water, spider-like bones the size of jungle vines burst out of his chest, skewering all six of his attackers in the air. Curling like fingers, the bones hurled them away before retracting and finding purchase on the floor, bringing their host back onto his feet just in time for the ceiling to come crashing down.

Their names escaped him, but Heath knew pissed when he saw it. For the sake of their professions, they were salad-dodgers, not ceiling-dodgers. As the dust settled, Heath watched them go off on the one responsible. Even with his back turned, it was clear this male was no ordinary demon, but a glimpse was all Heath could manage before feeling a sharp tug.

A leg nearly rose in response, but the urge to kick was stifled by the familiar sight of pudgy little arms. They belonged to none other than little Mitch, whose bitch of a mother freaked out at Heath only hours earlier, buying him a fast-pass into the very same part of the building Valerie had been in.

Blood stained the little mite, but something told Heath it wasn't his own. Thanks to the ceiling fiasco acting like an attention beacon, the little toddler had managed to dodge certain death in finding him. There were no hysterics; only sharp, insistent tugging, wide, terrified eyes, and a direction. Heath followed to where the toddler was pointing fifteen or so yards behind them, pale eyes narrowing as they settled on a heap of collapsed arena seating stands.

Before he could make out who it was hiding in the slanting hole, the infant was already pulling him towards it. Throwing a quick glance over his shoulder, Heath scooped the kid up and leaped for the seating stands. Just as he suspected, it was the boy's mother who hid in its darkness, cradling a bloody gut wound and a broken arm, bone sticking out like a sore thumb.

Her eyes lost their hazy, near-comatose sheen as he approached. Pockets of deathly quiet had begun to pepper the arena, broken by distant shrieks and the sounds of nearby feasting demons. Head shaking, a whimpering wail rising in her throat, she began to hyperventilate, hand reaching out desperately for her son. It was understandable, to a degree. Heath was no pretty picture at the moment; blood-spattered, parts of his rib cage lying exposed to the naked eye. But he understood only one thing: the need to stay quiet. Her wail was quickly smothered by a sharp, half-skeletal hand, while a finger nestled between his lips and his chin gestured to a small group of newly-turned. One or two of them periodically paused in their devouring, gazes mercifully passing by mother and son thanks to Heath's crouched form, drawn instead to the sumo-ceiling commotion up ahead.

It didn't take a genius to guess that this was a dead end. By the looks of it, she knew it too. With a taste of blood from the growing pool underneath her, his suspicions were right. Bits of dead liver cells told of a fatal wound to the organ itself, hemorrhaging for some time now.

"You still in shock? Does it hurt?"
She shook her head quickly, voice hoarse. "I...yes. Or no. I mean---yes, I..."
Heath glanced at little Mitch, then at the sea of enemies yet to be defeated. His two and a half minutes were up; a couple of teeth won't be enough to get them out of here. All in all, without his blood demon art, even he wasn't liking his odds.
"Alright, good. Then here's the deal, mama. If you give me your arm to eat, your kid will walk out of here safe. I promise."

Silence. There was no confusion, no disgust, or revulsion like last time. No hesitance either; only a sharp lunge towards her child, the last of her strength distilled in a last peck on the cheek and a hug. By the time Heath began to absorb her fractured redius bone, her eyes retook that glassy, comatose sheen. She would be gone within the hour.

"Just take, demon..."

Heath stopped mid-absorption, surprised she was still able to speak. "Heath," he murmured, tongue clicking almost in annoyance. "And no talk. You don't have long. You got to stay with your son as long as you can." The woman shook her head again, taking hold of his hand weakly.
"Maori..." Her chin barely moved in her baby's direction. "...and my Enzo." The rest of her fortitude was spent holding onto consciousness. "Just take...to get him out of here...just take it all, Heath...take it all."

❂

There'd be nothing but loose organs and skin to bury, he wanted to tell her. But to her son's whimpering cry, she had already lost consciousness. Heath could not tell what he felt when all was said and done; that was always for later. All he knew was to make sure the infant saw as little of it as possible. Then with little Enzo strapped to his back in a skeletal cage in the vague shape of a baby carrier, he took to the air, back to the woman Viktor cared about the most. The difference in sheer strength was so remarkable compared to paltry animal teeth; her bones would be her son's saving grace tonight, and if rationed well, his power for weeks to come.

He'd only been gone a few minutes, but it seemed an hour's worth of action had passed in that time. Their dark-haired demon of a savior was now being rushed, acting---to Heath's solace---as a very good and gracious main diversion. "Valerie!"
Heath made his path through the rush, contorting past and blasting finger-bone bullets into those who had the poor sense of being in his way nonetheless. He landed a hand on her shoulder breathlessly.

"I've an idea, doll. An idea, a move that could get us clear of here. I just need to ask one thing---"

Heath pivoted, revealing the toddler straddled to his spine.

"Can you or Fang take him?"

The Arena — 3rd Floor

A vision, of gnashing claws and ungodly fangs, set his sights ablaze. Each patter across the concrete floor brought the child closer to her end, closer to the beast that loomed in the shadows beyond—and there was nothing he could do. A demon set upon the child’s small frame swifter than the words could leave his mouth, “STOP!” Fang spun his rifle, quickly enough to leave his vision dizzied, but still not fast enough.

Fang's world stood still, his entire being consumed by the terror of the moment. An eternity stretched out between each breath and every blink. The demon’s fingers were claws, and its mouth a gaping maw of smoke and shadows. It reached out for the child's throat as it whimpered, while the child screamed; and then, before his horrified gaze, it seized her by both arms and tore them apart. The girl's screams became whimpers—then silence.

As his finger curled around the trigger, time and all its trappings were forgotten. Then, with a thunderous roar, the rifle fired, releasing a wave of fire and steel from its mouth. The recoil of the weapon sent ripples of power through Fang, shaking him like a leaf in a storm.

But, before the round met its target, the world above began to crumble. In a deafening screech, bricks from the ceiling broke away from their foundations, plummeting to the ground with an alarming crash. Shards of dust and debris filled the air, swirling around in a maelstrom of destruction. Set upon the child’s murderer was another—the demon from the arena. Debris from the collapse filled Fang’s lungs as if it were a molten lead. He coughed and gagged, choking, trying desperately to expel the foulness from his throat. A frantic palm heaved into his own chest in rhythm between panicked coughs.

A dark force crept through the air, a phantom in the shadows of concrete. The hand, large and powerful, with its fingers spread wide like a spider's web, emerged from shadow, a tangible manifestation of the unseen. With a deafening crash, the hand slammed into the unsuspecting boy, Fang, and sent him flying through the air like a rag doll. The force of the impact caused an explosion of color, a dazzling display of purples and yellows that cascaded through the air in a beautiful, chaotic flurry.

He lay there, his limbs splayed out in a twisted mess, struggling to comprehend what had just happened. His head spun and he could feel the ache radiating from every sore muscle and joint. He could barely make out his surroundings; the room was hazy, like a dream he couldn't quite shake. The only thing he could make out was the bright purple bruise that was beginning to form on his arm.

Haru's wicked laughter echoed through the air like thunder, palpable and oppressive. His deep, guttural chuckles came from the pits of Hell, reverberating off the walls and shaking the very foundations of the room. His large frame shuddered with each uproarious outburst, his bulbous belly jiggling like a heap of sewage. “Well, I guess that takes care of the brat. Now, for dessert!” Cellulite stretched from the turning of the demon’s bulky neck as its gaze flipped. It made a fatal error, in thinking Fang would be dispatched that easily.

Fang was a force of nature, a powerful storm of rage and determination. His eyes blazed, a furious inferno of fury and wrath, as he glared at the fat demon before him. His body quivered with ravening energy, he was a tightly wound bowstring, ready to be unleashed.

Tired… I’m tired. The day had been long and dreary, and his patience had worn thin. Everywhere he went, people treated him with the same lack of respect. He was just the pizza delivery boy, the one that brought food to your door. People didn't bother to see past his position, to his true identity, to his future. All they saw was what he did, how much money he made, and who paid it. No more.

With a sudden burst, Fang leaped forward, a blur of motion and energy. His body was a surge of action, his limbs coiling and uncoiling like a deadly serpent. He was a creature of raw, untamed fury, ready to unleash his wrath upon his foe. In a single, perfect motion, Fang extended his arm, the tips of his fingers pressing against the wrestler's wrist. There was a loud snap, like the cracking of a dry twig, and the wrestler's arm bent at a grotesque angle, the bone broken. Haru’s eyes widened, his teeth clenched, and his lips pulled back in a rictus of agony.

Fang wasted no time in taking advantage of the situation. He leaped onto the wrestler's back, his feet balancing precariously on the man's broad shoulders. His eyes narrowed and his teeth bared in a feral smile as he felt the power of his opponent's body beneath him. He was a dragon riding the wind, an unstoppable force of nature. The sumo wrestler groaned and heaved in an effort to shake Fang off, but the boy's grip was too strong. Fang's whole body seemed to hum with energy as he held his position, a wild victory dance in his eyes. He had conquered his foe and the world lay before him.

Fang's fingers dug into the sumo wrestler's upper mandible through his open maw and he yanked with all his might. His eyes burned with a feral rage and his lips were drawn back in a snarl. The sinews in his arms strained as he pulled, and the wrestler's head began to give way. Eager feet dug into mounds of flesh for leverage, as the edges of the demon's lip tore. “KATHSU … kathsu—HELTH ME!!!” Loose tissue stretched to bridge the gap between ripped cheeks and at the center, a wild mouth let loose an ear-shattering screech.

FUCK OFF!” With a sickening crack, the top half of the wrestler's skull came free from the lower half, and Fang held it up before him in triumph. Blood gushed forth from the ragged edges of the head, pouring onto the ground in a torrent of crimson. Fang's face was bathed in its light and his eyes glittered with terrible glee. Haru’s head split open as if it were a pizza box and his tongue was left to writhe within the chambers of the neck and lower mandible—like a fresh slice of pizza.

The heavy body crumbled, with its main operator now detached. Fang leaped from his shoulders as the empty husk collapsed to its knees. A toss sent the boney disk, with brain intact within, as far away as he could throw. Between each heavy heave, the anger Fang felt searing within his lungs began to dissipate.

★

Valerie. He had to get back to her, and quickly. Her close silhouette, dark and willowy, was unmistakable. Two feet sprang forward to carry his bruised body back to his new employer’s side.

What he had not expected to see on his return was a second child, this time carried within the arms of one blue bonehead. Fang felt a sudden surge of admiration for the demon, and he could not help but be touched by the creature's capacity for compassion. For a moment, Fang felt as if he was somehow connected to this demon, feeling a kinship that he had not dared to imagine. Not intrepid enough to let his awe-filled gaze linger a second longer, he spread his arms to make space for the toddler’s weight. “Here … I’ll take him off your hands.”

Yume Shimizu

With each step she took, Yume could feel her heart pounding in her chest. The screams from the nearby arena echoed down the streets, and despite still being blocks away from returning, she could hear them. Their sound left her feeling unsettled. Everything that was happening was a rush and her mind was still trying to wrap itself around it. The sudden outburst hardly made sense to her, yet she refused to let people suffer from it. Many probably had been lost, that was unavoidable, yet she hoped she could still make a difference.

Sucking in a deep breath, she closed her eyes as she ran along, letting the nearby sounds be her guide. Soon enough she arrived at the arena's exit and despite still having her eyes closed, she weaved her way through the wave of people escaping the death trap behind them. Yume however pushed towards it. Her form was nearly perfect yet the sound of shatter glass coming from overhead was enough to pull her from her concentration and force her eyes open. Lifting her head skyward, she could see the nearby buildings upper windows shatter, despite everything happening on ground level. It was unsettling, yet she did not dare explore whatever might await her atop said building. Getting there would take too long and she didn't have time to waste on such things.

Allowing her attention to shift back to the crowds before her, Yume forced her way through the swarm until she spotted a pair of demons lashing out at the escaping humans. Shrieks of horror filled her ears as people watched the two feed on the few humans they had managed to capture. The sight was... unpleasant to say the least. Blood dripped from their hands and mouths. Various limbs had been pulled from the bodies. Even Yume had to take a brief second to compose herself. No matter how many demons she faced, it never was easy to see sights like this. However, she couldn't stay idle. She had to do something. Moving her hand to the hilt of her sword, Yume unsheathed her weapon and held it in front of herself. Now was the time to take action.

There was no hesitation in her movements and only seconds after her blade was drawn, she wacked it against the concrete to make her presence known. Unlike normal swords, hers was crafted for durability and to have its own "special sound." It helped with keeping her rhythm as she used her breathing techniques. The soft metallic lull that came from her weapon was more than enough to draw the demon's eyes towards her. Upon seeing their sights now upon her, a smirk crossed Yume's face. "Alright noobs, time to stomp your asses!" she hissed out.

Lunging forward, the streamer quickly reserved the grip she had on her sword and lashed out at the first demon's legs. Her swings were chaotic and quick, yet such a simple use of Music Breathings second form was more than enough to take the legs out from under her target. Seeing the demon fall to the ground and begin dragging itself towards her, Yume's attention shifted to the second one, knowing she had time to deal with it before the other managed to crawl over. A simple swipe of her sword was enough to protect her from the oncoming monster. Slicing through its outstretched arms, she huffed softly before spinning out of its way. Seeing it trip over its "friend" the girl gave a shake of her head. It was clear these were newly turned demons. They hardly knew how to control themselves after all. Maybe that was good for her. She couldn't waste too much time on them after all.

Walking forward, Yume loomed over the two demons and narrowed her eyes. "Find peace!" Her voice was firm as she swung her blade down, slicing through the first one's neck. She could hear gasps from around her, but she could hardly care. With another swing of her blade, it found the neck of the second demon. With both dead, she lowered her weapon and stepped back. It was then that she noticed the crowd that had formed around her. With no mask hiding her face, it was revealed to those around. Most looked fearful, while others looked on in awe. Both were reactions she was familiar with. Ignoring the phones pointed towards her, clearly filming her actions, the streamer lifted her weapon and pointed it off into the distance. "You need to get moving! Stop staring like idiots and get out of here unless you wanna dead up dead!"

Despite the murmurs of some that seemed to recognize who she was, the crowd seemed to understand her words, and once again joined the other panicked people. Shaking her head at it all, the girl sheathed her sword again and once again moved against the flow of traffic, knowing soon enough she would find the more heavily demon invested areas. They were likely inside the building though. Getting there would take time, but hopefully Chiyoko could hold her own until she could arrive.

For many years, demons have stayed hidden in the shadows of the night. Rapid modernization had nearly made it impossible for them to hunt as freely as they used to. Cameras surveyed every corner of the streets in Japan, and demons have gotten clever. They blended into society and lived among unsuspecting humans. One would never know if the stranger that sat next to them on the train was a flesh-eating monster. They were nothing but creatures of myths and legends, told by parents to scare their children into bed.

A large-scale attack in the heart of Tokyo could only mean one thing: a declaration of war against humanity. The world would come to know the terror of demons once again, and stories of old would become reality once more. Thousands of fragile human lives would perish, like sand slipping through one's fingers.

A low vibration shook the arena as thousands of human feet rushed toward the exits, bodies pushing against each other as their sense of self-preservation led them to sacrifice others and save themselves. Many died before the demons ever got to them, trampled on by fellow humans who merely acted on their strongest instinct: survival.

The bone-chilling screams adorned the stage of blood and destruction before her. At the fore, Heath held off a swarm of bloodthirsty fiends, while Valerie remained still. Her mind ran a million miles per second, her heartbeat a steady rhythm as it pumped adrenaline in her veins. The world seemed to spin, sounds fading out to silence, until all she could hear was the rush of air that entered and exited her lungs.

Hundreds continued to die as her feet stayed glued to the ground, her hands clenched so tightly that her nails dug through her palm and drew blood. The destruction before her felt like a fever dream; a vivid nightmare that she would soon wake up from any moment now.

"Look out...!"

A sharp cry from Hiroto snapped Valerie out of her daze. The sounds of carnage assaulted her ears once again, like the vicious pitter-pattering of rain on a car roof. The gravity of the situation hit her harder than before, and by the time her brain registered Hiroto's words, Valerie was already a second too late. A sharp pain shook her to her core as a demon plunged his claws into her abdomen.

"Shit.." Valerie groaned as she kept a firm grip on the demon's wrist, preventing him from digging his claws deeper into her flesh. With a twist, she snapped it like a twig and kicked him square in the chest, knocking over several demons behind him like bowling pins.

They were back on their feet in seconds, baring their jagged fangs at Valerie. They sprung over dead bodies that lay on their path, but the crumbling ceiling knocked them down and trapped them under the rubble. A loud crash sounded, and the floors shook beneath her. As the dust settled, Valerie's breath hitched as her gaze landed on a familiar figure.

"Miss Valerie... you're injured." The butler's voice quivered, wrinkled hands trembling as he tried to pass her a handkerchief. The sound of his voice forced Valerie to tear her eyes away from her childhood friend, and her gaze slowly drifted toward the old man's terror-stricken face.

The sight of such savagery would leave him traumatized for the rest of his remaining years, but he did well to maintain his composure. Hiroto still stood tall, with his head held high. A professional in every manner. He deserved a vacation after tonight, and she would give it to him.

Valerie took the handkerchief and offered him a comforting smile. "I must have had too much wine. This is nothing but a scratch," said Valerie as she gestured to her open wound with a shrug. She gave him a reassuring grip on the shoulder, but their exchange was cut short by a guttural sound that rumbled nearby.

"Stay behind me," Valerie ordered as her eyes locked on two demons who slowly advanced toward her, pieces of human flesh still dangling off their hideous teeth. They licked their lips as they approached, too eager for a taste. A taste they would never get. Valerie whipped her head in Heath's direction—but he was not there.

Where did he go..?

A short distance away, she caught sight of Fang springing into action. He displayed bestial strength and ferocity against his demonic foe—but Valerie had no time to be distracted now; she'd already paid the price for it earlier. Taking up a defensive stance, Valerie returned her attention to the advancing demons up ahead.

One of the demons sprung forward. She shifted her weight onto her rear leg and rotated her body clockwise, causing the demon to stumble forward in Hiroto's direction. Her left hand grabbed the demon by his collar, pulling backward, and she delivered a right hook to his face. A loud crack resounded at the shattering of his jawbone, and the demon's body was sent catapulting, skidding to a halt when it reached the other end of the hallway.

Valerie's head snapped toward the next, a predatory glint in her golden eyes, but the second demon was already fleeing. There were thousands of weaker prey who were ready for the taking, so why would he bother with a woman who'd only make it difficult? Valerie clenched her fist as she watched the demon leap toward the stampeding crowd below, like a hawk swooping in for its next meal.

Heath returned to Valerie's side first, the weight of his hand forcing her body to turn in his direction. The sudden touch, paired with his demonic appearance, took Valerie by surprise, and her fists almost moved on their own to punch him in his stupid face. Did anyone ever teach him not to creep up on a woman? Valerie flashed him a look of contempt, but she swallowed the urge to berate him.

At Heath's words, she raised an eyebrow curiously, but her expression turned to surprise when he showed her the child. Did his million-dollar idea involve feasting on a child to boost his power? Valerie opened her mouth to protest—but Heath's next words proved the misunderstanding. Her mouth snapped shut instantly, and she cleared her throat. With a silent pause, she only stared dumbfoundedly at the crying, snot-nosed toddler.

Fang returned before she could get a word out. Eyes still burning with fire from his recent conquest, a hint of admiration seemed to flash in them when he saw Heath with the rescued boy. An interesting development. Fang offered to take the child without a moment's hesitation, but Valerie suddenly reached out and took him into her arms first. She turned to Fang as she held the child awkwardly, afraid she'd break his bones if she made any sudden movements.

"You need both arms to do your job, slayer."

The child wailed, his pudgy arms reaching out for Heath, face scrunched up in fear as it looked up at her stone-cold face. Valerie took offense and furrowed her brows, narrowing her eyes at the impertinent little thing. How could this child be more afraid of her than the sight of a demon with bones jutting out of his body? What an unintelligent boy. At this age, Valerie was already learning how to brandish a wooden sword.

"Listen, boy. I'm not the demon here, he is." Valerie hissed petulantly through gritted teeth, directing her pointer finger at Heath. That only caused the little gremlin to cry harder. "Oh, how dramatic." Valerie rolled her eyes as she adjusted the child's weight onto her left side, her right hand moving to the wound on her abdomen. It throbbed, but the pain wasn't enough to get a reaction out of the steely CEO.

Golden eyes shot daggers at Heath. If looks could kill, he would be a dead man. "Now get us out of here."

Suddenly, the voice of a young man boomed through the intercoms, urging the demons to clear out—orders from the big boss. A futile attempt it was. The demons only raised their heads for a second, then went back to feasting.

Everyone In Arena

As the night went on, the hooded figure continued to watch the chaos unfold from the rooftop of the adjacent building. Aside from the individuals that were cutting down the demons left and right, from what the hooded figure could see just from the skylight, the center of the stadium was a sea of red, not a single inch of the stands was not covered in the blood of humans. While the figure was aware they could continue to let the events before them unfold and eventually even those fighting would be overwhelmed, the fact that there were other demons amongst those fighting caused interest to form within the hooded figure.

Mere moments passed, and soon enough an unexpected male voice rung throughout the stadium. With the sheer volume and number of loudspeakers surrounding the exterior and interior of the facility, it was of no difficulty to be able to hear the entirety of the message being stated by this unknown speaker. By turning up the volume to it's maximum output, the windows, walls, and even the supports of the surrounding buildings had shaken; nearly causing the larger unknown creature from earlier to nearly fall from its standing position. The unknown figure however remained utterly unaffected as they listened to the rather confident speaker attempt to speak for them in attempts to end the carnage. Of course, as expected, even with the figure's insistent speaking of attempting to threaten the surrounding demons with the hooded figure's wrath, the demons continued their feast while ignoring the male's possible threats.

Being practically incapable of holding back their laughter, the hooded figure had shaken their head before finally standing from their seated position. "Oh? This child wants the feast to end? So be it." With that said, the figure turned its attention once more to the large creature that loomed within the darkness before giving a single nod. "Go."

Just as the creature was finally given its orders to attack, it once more stomped into full view with the light of the moon's rays giving off its entirety of its details. The creature was a large burly bald middle-aged demon male, they wore no shirt and a pair of torn-up black jean pants, covering their arms, chest and legs were bits of pieces of what appeared to be a blackened bark similar to that of a tree. His eyes were hollowed in with only two red dots at the dead center of his pitch-black eye sockets, he lacked all of his teeth and his mouth appeared to had been forced to be kept in a large grinning hollowed shape with no sign of a tongue or even uvula. Rather than attempt to speak, the man bent his legs before making a massive jump into the air till he was high above the skylight of the stadium.

Coming down with a tremendous amount of speed, the man crashed through the skylight, causing glass to shatter and scatter throughout a large portion of the center of the stadium. As the man impacted the ring, the metallic support beams holding the ring in a standing position immediately collapsed in on themselves causing it to slam down and now sit fully upon the cement flooring. Many of the surrounding demons within the center of the building halted their feasting only to take their attention towards the intruder as silence fell upon the room for a few moments.
The man, hunched over kept silent and unmoving for several moments before suddenly digging his fingers into the ground along with his toes as they extended and dug through the cement flooring like roots. Letting out a blood-curdling roar that soon became distorted as the entirety of the man's form begun to disfigure itself all over, flesh ripped like paper as tree limbs sprouted out from each and every angle of his body, a massive trunk extruded itself from the man's mouth and grew hundreds of feet into the air till the tip of the tree had reached the skylight. Soon enough, the trunk of the tree began to split open to reveal what appeared to had been jagged fangs made of bark formed followed by multiple red piercing orbs for eyes formed all over its massive frame. [Picture for reference]

Once again, by the time the monstrous demon tree had fully grown itself to its maximum size, it let out a bellowing roar that shook the stands and entirety of the building, threatening to collapse the whole place. Even as demons, many of them covered their eyes to avoid being deafened. Due to being distracted by the sounds however, many of the demons were caught off guard as the limbs of the tree's branches began to slither and extend throughout the center of the room before impaling them. Each demon or human corpse that was impaled was rapidly drained of their blood till there had been nothing left and their bodies represented nothing more than dried up corpses of flesh and bone with empty sockets for eyes and skin firmly contracting against their bones. The tree branches showed no care for who it grabbed onto, whether the person was already dead, whether it was a demon or not. Every being the tree's branches absorbed, the demonic figure grew slightly in size as its branches thickened and became more durable with time, even when the branches caught fire by burying itself into electronics all around, it appeared the flames did little to nothing to the blackened bark.

During the time of the attack upon the center of the building, humans who had been attempting to escape through the halls, demons which had been feasting in other corridors were blissfully unaware of the demonic tree's presence other than the fact that something had happened due to the shaken building when the new threat arrived. Because of their lack of awareness on the situation, the last thing everyone expected was the sudden extruding of roots coming from the ground and walls of the halls, impaling one after another and absorbing them of all their blood as well.

Parking Garage

With the number of demons that approached him while he stood over the regenerating corpse of the demon that had murdered the innocent female child, Xiang's dress shoe was buried firmly into the crushed remains of what was the demon's face causing him to be unable to properly regenerate. Eyeing the group that approached him via orders of the overweight wrestler, he prepared for a fight that even he knew he wasn't going to come out of unscathed one way or another. Just as the first few demons readied themselves to sprint towards him, the group was stopped by the unexpected announcement over the intercoms from a random male stating that their 'boss' told them that it was time to regroup. With each of the demons followed by Xiang giving a raised brow on the situation, Xiang was at a loss of who this 'boss' was and just who was brave enough to be announcing their location so calmly like this.

The demons all stared at one another before shrugging off the idea that their boss would just suddenly end the feast by having some kind of random person go on the intercom in such a way. Rather than paying any mind to it, the group once again proceeded to approach Xiang with angered expressions.
Mere seconds went by right after the intercom had gone off, Xiang's phone once again began to ring as the male exhaled a deep sigh just to reach into his pocket while taking slow steps to retreat from the incoming threats. "Yeah..Yeah...I know you're here. Just...give me a couple of minutes. Kind of busy and the crowd isn't too friendly." Rather than allow his boss to respond, Xiang simply hung up the phone before stowing it away into his side pocket of his suit yet again. "Hey! You guys! Ya don't mind dealing with these guys now, do ya? I got some business to take care of! Thanks a bunch!" With his confidence of leaving the group of demons for the four individuals to deal with, those that were approaching him stopped midway just to stare at Xiang in utter confusion. The fact that he simply thought that they were going to let him get away just because he said so, practically flabbergasted them. "H-hey! Wait a minute! We're not done with you! You may be a demon, but we can still eat you too!" As one of the men spoke up from the group, Xiang's only response was to kick the still regenerating corpse to the group, causing a large number of the demons to fall back from having to catch the man.

While the group struggled to shove off the corpse from their bodies, Xiang took the opportunity to sprint down the corridor behind him. Rushing down one hall after another, practically everywhere he went however, he came face-to-face with another group of demons or just a pile of corpses littering the ground. Whenever he ran into the groups of demons, Xiang made sure to just barrel his way through, any that stood in his way were shoulder tackled out of the way with the full blunt force of him sprinting at his immense speed.
Eventually, he'd end up reaching his destination, the parking garage. The metallic smell of blood still lingered in the air even within the much more open space causing Xiang to have to continue exerting more effort not to allow himself to be consumed by his lust for human blood. 'Need...to focus!' Shaking off the temptation, he continued on his way till he eventually reached the bottom floor of the parking garage, finding his boss luckily still alive and trembling in his Mercedes.

"Xiang! Get in! We're getting out of here!" With his boss exclaiming in panic from the sounds of screams and growls filling the air, Xiang approached the side of the vehicle only to pat the roof of the car while leaning over. "I told you to relax. Now...did you bring it?" Remaining calm as Xiang spoke, his boss nodded while pointing at the backseat where a large, long mahogany wooden black case sat. "Whats in there that's so important to you anyway?!" Without so much as a response, Xiang simply opened up the backseat door behind pulling out the case and resting it onto the asphalt flooring of the garage before entering in several combination of numbers causing the sides of the case to let out a long hiss-like noise before a white gas-like substance came out from the sides of the casing. Fully opening the case to reveal an all-white katana, Xiang stood in silence for a few moments just to stare at the weapon that he never believed he'd ever hold again after his mentor's death.
Grasping onto the sheathe of the blade near the hilt, he placed his thumb onto the guard of the hilt just to keep the blade from sliding out as every other swordsman did, lifting the blade up to his side and closing the case. He stored the empty casing back into the backseat of his boss' car and closed the door.

"Get going. I'll be there s--" Just as Xiang dismissed his boss, with the arrival of the new threat and the entirety of the building followed by parking garage shaking, he nearly lost his balance before staring in the direction he originally come from. "What the hell--...!?" Cursing under his breath, mere seconds passed before blackened roots had started coming out from the ground and ceiling like tendril spikes. "Go!" Shouting with much more urgency this time, his boss slammed on the gas pedal as firmly as he could causing the tears to screech and burn marks into the ground before taking off at full speed. "Don't you dare die on me Xiang!" With the fading voice of his boss while he drove away, Xiang would be left with the tendrils spiked roots barreling towards him at dangerous speeds.
With no civilians in his way at the moment, Xiang brought his right foot back as he took a drawing stance. Gritting his teeth before lowering his head, he inhaled deeply. Within a matter of seconds, the sound and sight of white crackling lightning formed around his sheathe as wind formed around the base of his feet till a small radius of wind could be seen surrounding him, similar to that of watching a hurricane and being in the eye of the storm. "{Storm Breathing} First Form: Blinding Flash..." Whispering in a hushed tone, within an instant, a single white streak of lightning following a flash of white light enveloped the entirety of the parking garage followed by a rush of gust following the flash.

By the time the flash had settled, Xiang would be standing with his straightened posture on the opposite side of the garage, his right hand grasping onto hilt of his blade which had just been sheathed as he stared over towards the several feet distance he made in that one moment. The large wooden tendrils that once were preparing to attack him had been frozen in place before they were all sliced in two, dropping to the ground lifeless. Immediately after, the sounds of howling roars once again shook throughout the facility, clearly from whatever had created the tendrils was in immense amount of pain of having its limbs be cut down in such a way. "I need to figure out what that sound is coming from..."

IC as: Malina Location:
Arena stand
interactions: Demonic NPC's and Ryuji/ wigi wigi
feeling: Annoyed and nervous

Malina threw spewed more of her flames at the demons chasing her thinking they would slow down but to no avail. 'damn it' she thought to herself 'if I can loose these fuckers I'll need a goddamn miracle but what?!' as she finished that thought she heard a loud explosion and looked over at an exit...a slayer had killed a group of demons with an explosive like hit from his sword. she sighed in annoyance and looks back at the demons catching up to her. "Maybe...just this once.." she instantly stopped and jumped into the air entering her demonic form. "Blood Demon art form 2: Hell Fire burst!" her body began to glow red before a large red orb like explosion went off around her, burning the demons inside and searing their skin. though she knew this would only slow them down even for a short while. 'this had better fuckin work..' she landed back down and charged towards the exit this time making space between her and demons following her. they had recovered and began chasing after her again. going to catch the slayers attention she formed a ball of fire into her hand and threw it towards him missing intentionally as she only needed his attention. "HOW ABOUT YA DEAL WITH THIS HORDE BEHIND ME?~"

(Ryuji/Wigi's reply from discord)
Ryuji quickly turns around seeing the ball of fame that passed him , he spins around mid air hearing the sound of the demon looking entity . he throws his sword at the horde of demon before quickly landing and grabbing it only to cause another explosion , at this point his brain wasn't really thinking too much , just pure instinct and rage. the demon slayer dashes toward the demon girl slashing around 5 demons on his way before trying to deliver the killing blow on the fiendish creature

(My reply)
"Yes come to me.." she said in a quiet tone as to not be heard. With a soft giggle she charged at him as well. seeing him attempt to cut her head from her body made her react quickly and use her clawed hand to block said attack. she smirked sadistically and gripped the blade tightly and began to heat up the blade to turn it red hot. if that happened t it would be rendered useless since another impact with it wend bend the metal however if the slayer managed to rip it away a simple punch would be thrown towards his stomach. the outcome?

(Ryuji/Wigi's reply from discord)
Ryuji was almost snapped back to reality with that block , like he was blacked out from the anger , he quickly clenches his teeth and takes a deep breath "do you think fire can melt my sword , the sword that takes explosions on the daily , you must be a god damn fool!" the demon slayer pulls his sword down slashing the demons arms causing a small explosion and smoke to appear , in the distraction he dashes backwards using his second form causing the ground where the demon was standing to crack.

(My reply)
"Hm...that not's right.." She flew back from the small of the explosion she clench her hand as it began to bleed and looked up at him. Feeling the ground crack beneath her made her jump out of the way think an explosion would occur. if her suspicions where to be true she would be out of the way of said explosion and spew fire at the slayer should he try to attack her again

(Ryuji/Wigi's reply from discord)
Ryuji's nose bleeds , he smashes the ground breaking off a large amount of planks sending them flying in the air before slashing at them causing an explosion that sends them flying at the demon , it was too much smoke to see the demon . he quickly uses his second breathing form and dashes at the demon with an explosion behind him as he takes another slash followed by another loud bang pushing his sword forward at rocket speed.

(My reply)
Seeing as how the slashed coming directly at her her and began to form a ball of fire before it sprouted into a sword and block the slashed. though it was block his blade made a large cut in her eye as she reacted to late to the attack. seeing how her now blade of fire and his were locked in a clash she had an idea and looked at him and smirked
"blood demon art first form: Heat wave!" the area around began to heat up to near scorching temperatures high enough to induce heat stroke. this had 2 outcomes for her if her backed off to regain a breathe she would as well to create some distance between her and him if it both would have to try and overpower each other in said clash

(Ryuji/Wigi's reply from discord)
Ryuji pushed forward with all his might , his hands started burning , he felt like his flesh was being roasted off of his skin. he grunts in pain but pushes forward . finding himself unalble to move with his hands barely able to hold his sword he quickly spins around and sheathes his blade before delivering a spinning kick at the demon

(my reply)
Seeing the attack she again tries to block it however she, by reaction, used her human arm. her hand had been removed from the wrist area and she yelled in pain before jumping back holding her wrist. 'damn it!' She thought to herself "This one is strong...if I can focus my flames into a single point I can maybe disarm hm!' She reach into a pocket of hers and pulled out what seemed to be...raw meat wrapped in foil. she quickly devoured it and her wrist began to regenerate. 'human meat is awful...but anything to survive this...' the flames in her hand began to glow a bit brighter before shifting to a blue color "You require close quarters in order to strike me...let's see how you handle from afar!" She pointed her wrist at him and began to spew out a long expanding line of fire

(Ryuji/Wigi's reply from discord)
Ryuji watches as the demon devours the meat , it makes him feel sick to his core . " oh fucking hell a flame thrower" ryuji yells to himself , he tries to dodge but his shoulder and the side of his body catch on fire and burn. he backs away and screams in pain trying to put himself out . he manages to put himself out , he clenches his fist but cant feel it from the burn , his fingers dig through his skin , his hand bleeds . does he do it now , if he does he'll die , his body wont be able to take the pain .

(finisher)

Before Malina or Ryuji could attack again a large figure had block Malina's flames with his wings and he had gotten infront of Ryuji should the flames get through anyway. Malina stopped her attack seeing she severely burn her husband and took a step back

Doctor/Kobayashi/Black death: Malina....why are you here? you should be home!"

Malina couldn't speak she was stilled shocked that he had protected the slayer and was damaged by her....instead she embraced him and kept muttering she was sorry. Kobayashi couldn't help but hug back. seeing wooden tendrils cause him to hoist Malina on his should and hold her tightly. seeing th3e slayer on the ground he couldn't leave him...so he reached down and grabbed the slayer and hoisted him on his shoulder and took flight above the stadium field narrowly avoid the wooden tendrils. to flew to the parking lot and had looked around before taking flight and had soared through the sky. he felt bad for the injured slayer made him an offer. "I am willing to heal you my friend...but it'll have to be tomorrow as I can't do it in this state...will you oblige?..."

Jimmy Awesome/Luigi Biagi
Interactions: wigi wigi

It was bad news for Luigi and Ryuji. Why would a demonic spider appear out of nowhere? It could be tough luck perhaps but it might be far from that. Luigi got into a fighting stance, preparing to fight and defeat the demonic spider before it was too late. In addition, the spectators and pedestrians outside of the stadium were at risk of being devoured by demons that were lurking there. However, it was more or less a prediction rather than a possibility. "We have to defeat this spider before it gets worse! We can do it, right?" he asked, expecting a reply.

Suddenly, Ryuji pulled him by the arm and ran away from the spider with him, approaching the demons from there. "Oh, uh, yeah!" said Luigi, agreeing with Ryuji's statement. As the spider started chasing after them, Luigi felt confused Ryuji thought of a plan to try to get away from the threat. But it was unexpected. Yet, it was intentional. Ryuji pushed Luigi away from danger in order to perform his ultimate attack against countless demons.

憤怒
Marumachi Ryutan
A Kind Warrior's Fury
Tokyo, Japan
Being surrounded by the slowly regenerating bodies of the demons who dared to attack him when enraged, Ryutan would start to take long deep breaths as he attempted to calm down from his rage. Though his vision started to blur from the amount of stamina he had loss when attacking the waves of demons, but this moment of untimely tiredness would be cut short as he was almost deafened by the bellowing roar of what seemed to be a... demonic tree? Either way this wasn't good for anyone it seemed as human and demon alike were attacked, and killed by the tree sapping the life from it's victims. The heightened screams and sight of countless deaths would start to further trigger Ryu's rage. "I can't have one normal night anymore, huh? Hahaha! Alright, let's see what you can do!" The demon would start running to where his sword was stuck into the wall.

As the tree's branches started to chase it's running target, Ryu would continuously speed up as he saw his sword in the distance and before the boy knew it, he was at the wall. Pulling out the broken blade and looking back to the branches that had almost reached him at this point, the demon couldn't help but grin as he knew shit was about to get even crazier. 'First Form... Dust Whirlwind CUTTER!' Ryutan suddenly shot forward in a giant burst of speed, creating a horizontal cyclone that shredded the branches into many... many pieces. Hell, even the flooring was torn up by this cyclone, just showing the amount of power there was within Wind Breathing.

The demon would look up to the monstrous tree with a crazed grin as he pointed the broken sword to some of the eyes that had been glaring at the ex-slayer. "Come and get me you ugly son of a bitch! COME AND GET ME!" Ryu's voice slightly echoed as he yelled at the tree before starting to run around, once again showing the surprising speed he wielded as a demon / wind-breathing user. As he ran around the area, branches would try to reach the demon to pierce his body and end his life though it wasn't going well for the demonic tree. Ryu would not only cut apart various branches that attempted to reach various humans, but he continued to cut away at the ones that dared directly chase him.

"Hahaha! This is nothing!" Ryu laughed out as he continued to outrun the branches, but his high stamina would be dropping quicker than normal due to him having to use various breathing techniques and keeping up his enraged state, which was providing the extra strength and speed he needed at this moment.

Heath DiSabatino
The Bare-Boned Demon
theme

Heath threw a glance over his shoulder. Baby Tooth's breathless voice was a surprise. Though no more surprising than the ridiculous sheen of demon blood splattered across his hands and pizza uniform. Behind him, lay the boy's victim: one of the sumo demons, headless and melted seal fat fermenting away into the metal-tinged air. Heath's eyes took on a beguiled gleam at the sight. Truly, hell hath no fury like a delivery man scorned. The lesson? Always tip the delivery guy.

Feeling the toddler's weight lift off, Heath let the bone carrier sink back into his spine. Turning round, the little imp's whimpering cries reached first before the view did. Like some stray cat, Valerie had the boy strung up by the armpits, adamantine nose wrinkled as if all this smelt like nothing short of a miscalculated bad deal.

Sharing a bemused look with Fang before shaking his head, Heath clicked his tongue in tune with the odd lump churning out of his half-skeletal wrist. "Not an ounce of a motherly bone in that body, Knight?"

Well, he did; consensually and plenty of it too. Without delay, Heath moved closer. Little Enzo's eyes were saucers, brimming with ocean tears that only seemed to stem somewhat once he was hanging over the scary woman's shoulder, dangling a bone circlet complete with a hollowed-out, bell-shaped doohickey, little bone pellets rattling inside. Heath played hard to get for a few moments, engrossed in the entertainment of watching a pup grasp for its treat. Then, in the middle of his dangling, a rude finger jutted in and broke his cadence. This earned Valerie a sharp, cross look. As she made her point, Heath made his own, in the form of a tongue-in-cheek attempt at biting her finger off between the teeth of his demonized jaw, missing by a few inches as she shifted to accommodate the boy and his new wave of sniveling fits onto her hip.

Heath backed away, baby bone rattler clinking, hands raising up in mock innocence. His pale eyes narrowed abruptly, catching the bloom of crimson staining the gut of her shirt before the businesswoman's hand obscured it largely from view. A bubble of questions briefly surfaced in his mind; how wide or long was the laceration? Was it enough to breach the extremities of her ribs, the peritoneum? From this distance, or without tasting her blood, there could be no answers to determine the fatality of the wound. Her face certainly betrayed no sign of pain, as if she had controlled her storm breathing to stave it all off for now.

It was not the only storm in play; the urgency and darkness in her look prompted a quick nod from him. As if it were a third hand, one of the bones of his exposed ribcage---the costal cartilage---mutated out and upwards and saluted her.

No sooner had he turned around did a voice break through the arena, high-pitched transmission feedback eliciting a brief wince from Heath before incredulity took its place.

Report back to...the Boss?

It was bullshit. Spewed either by a clueless, bottom-rung demon or a desperate human making a weak attempt at heroism. But it was bullshit that nonetheless sent an arctic freeze up his spine and a sobering slap across the face for not considering it sooner. A frantic look dawned as Heath scrutinized the macabre scene before him.

One by one, the faces of those who had held the rank of fellow Lower Sin during his time as the Bare-Boned Demon swam to the forefront of his mind's eye. Could it be they were all here, acting out the will of the Boss? Worse still, the Upper Sins...

You're a traitor to them, fool. You pull this off, you might as well paint and give them one big fuck of a neon sign.

Heath looked down. It was a risk. What's more, it was a reminder that fate was full of cruel jokes like that. But by some miracle and a mother's love; a mentor's patience and a mate's trust, he was here---a chance to laugh it all back into fate's face.

Heath looked back at Valerie. Clutching the bone baby rattler still in his hand, he tossed it back to her.

"Compliments of Maori," he said, glancing at the collapsed seating stands far off in the distance, "his mama. And the little imp's name is Enzo."

❂

"Heads up, Baby Tooth!"

Heath, now several yards away from Valerie and her troupe, unclasped his Nichirin sword and threw it to Fang. He nodded as he did, toward the growing mob of demons surrounding their main diversion, who decided to play as their ditch-demon moments earlier instead and leave them to pick up the slack. "Dual wielding for those dual demon-slaying arms. Keep 'em away from Valerie."

Heath turned back forward. Letting his tattered cloak and vest by the wayside, he took a few more steps, bare neck and finger bones popping in anticipation. He liked to hope it was the rustiness that he was shaking off; after all, the last time he'd had any need to pull this blood demon art off was at the height of his demonic insanity and killing spree, nearly half a decade ago.

Ignored by surrounding feasting demons, Heath, now bare-chested, kneeled down. Skeletal fingers fixed against the ground, his eyes closed. With the gift of sanity, comes the responsibility of learning control, Madame Chi had told him. He was no longer a Seventh Lower Sin puppet, forced by bloodlust to default to the largest, most destructive size. There was choice now. Just as he was taught, Heath's eyes opened and fixated themselves on a certain point; a beam tucked high in the ceiling of the floor above, visible now thanks to the gaping hole their demon friend had created earlier.

Bare-Boned Blood Demon Art...

Skin began to undulate, demonic bone distend and metamorphosize. A cacophony of cracking, rupturing and a deep, demonic thunder of growth resounded from within, taking his place entirely. The newly-turned nearby began to take notice, drawn to the sudden burst of power, pain and sound. His breath hitched.

"Requiem...of the Gashadokuro."

In a bloodcurdling flash of white, a monstrous array of spinal disc ruptured from his back, stacking like a life-size tower of Jenga blocks. Elephantine ivory rib and upper limb grew out like spider legs while at the very tip mutated and sat a giant, unnerving, grinning, hollow cranium. The host itself was almost no more, lost in the sea of spine. In his place, he wielded nearly eight meters of a skeletal giant, whose body, much like those in Japanese myth, stood incomplete with nothing but hip bones to call for legs. Immediately, it crouched, skull touching the base of the high beam while the glass, walls and floor within the vicinity violently shook in protest. The newly-turned nearby that were smart enough to sense the danger had long fled, but those who hadn't were crushed under the weight of mammoth finger bone.

But instead of calming down, the fixtures still protested and shook. Another giant threat had been unleashed nearly the same time, many yards away. Heath, whose presence now was only palpable through the Chesire-like leer etched onto the jawbones of his new form, bent further down and stretched out a giant skeletal hand towards Fang, Valerie and co. as tendrils began to sprout like springtime blooms no one asked for because they were all horribly allergic. The voice that pealed out was chillingly cavernous, impetuously rattling like a bag of bones.

"ꍌꏂ...꓄ ꄲꋊ !.."

Out of them all, Fang was the fastest and closest to obey. The rest were held up by distance, and in Valerie's case, an armful of ankle-biter. Once they were all within the osseous palm of his hand, the monstrous skull cracked towards the windows, where the field of the arena sat in plain view. Demonic tree roots writhed and warped like an open can of worms, leaving increasingly little space for survivors to keep surviving. Trunks of bone curling over to shield its tiny passengers from torrents of glass shards, the giant skeleton demon landed on arena ground with a muted, thunderous boom. With an uneven but mindful gait it made it's way towards the open stadium walls. Elephantine spine snaking over cracked edges, the embarkees were placed feet away from Knight's sleek car. The outstretched skeletal hand went limp moments later, losing all sense of animation. Disintergratjng steam rose and swirled into a gossamer veil of mist around them. Out of it, emerged Heath as he was when they first met. This time though, with tatters for clothes and his own telling veil of sweat, shimmering dimly in the evening light.

ryuji took deep painfull breaths , his veins bulged out and his teeth were clenched , is hands were burned and in a fist ready to deliver punches to the demonic doctor infront of him.
he felt seconds away from basically losing all consiousness but held on by pure rage.
he spoke and in his voice you could hear an angry crack.
"
monsters , human devouring ,MONSTERS!"
as he heard the demon talk it only made him angrier.
"you kill the innocent , hurt people who never wronged you , and you're here offering help"
his fingers dug deep into his burned hand untill his hand bled.
in his head he hears the sound of his mentor over and over in his head telling him to banish the monsters.

IC as: Doctor Kobayashi/Black death and Malina
Location: Parking lot? (idk)

Doctor Kobayashi merely stared down at the slayer in front of him. he only offers his hand out to them as he wished to help them however his hand was quickly taken aback by Malina. "Leave him....he won't accept your help" Malina said in a soft tone to him. Doctor Kobayashi could do nothing but retract his hand. he stared at the slayer before closing his hand and opening it once again.it had medical supplies and other things as well. he only set them down on the ground and hoisted Malina on his back. he turned away and walked from the slayer feeling he had failed to prevent something....he looked back at them and gave a nod before sprout wings and taking to the skies. he flew into the night leaving the slayer alone with the medical supplies and went back home
