--- Protective

Any man with a wife and children would have this trait, I imagine. He doesn't have much else other than his family, so, they obviously mean a lot to him, and that just shines out in his behavior and way he speaks of them. If there's anyone who knows how to take a bullet for someone, it'd be him. He's the sort that would dive head on into danger if it was for his family, quite simply.

--- Quick Thinker

A man who lives in the world of business, mainly, and has the brain to show it. He was never someone who was exceptionally intelligent or anything like that, but he's certainly someone whose brain will go on overdrive at the right time. Marcus wasn't the kind of guy that would walk out and present to a boardroom of people unless he really needed to, and was more someone who operated behind the scenes, but that isn't the most relevant fact in the world. The most relevant fact is that he can break things down and figure them out quite quickly - something that helps him succeed, without a doubt.

--- Competitive

Once more, in the world of business, being competitive is a trait everyone has. Marcus has had to pull off the less-than-friendly tactics in order to get what he needed. He wanted to advance, he wanted to provide - a part of him even wanted to take over. His personality had reflected his level of competition ever since he was younger. If there was a chance to move up in the world, why wouldn't he take it, right? Because of that, Marcus does have quite a few enemies, but, everyone has enemies in their lives. Marcus can just be pretty good at making them.

--- Understanding

As much as Marcus seems like the kind of guy to be rather cold and distant, believe it or not, but he's quite the understanding guy. I suppose you can thank his children for that one, because children are simply full of surprises. They put him to the test over the years (not deliberately), and he had to find a way to deal with it. Now, he understands that people are different in each and every way, and that's not really something that he can change, but he's doing his best to make sure everyone gets a fair chance.

--- Judgmental

This partially contradicts with the above, but the fact is that Marcus grew up in a family and in a world where if you weren't a certain way or didn't do a certain thing, you just weren't the sort of guy that was worth knowing. Damaging to him as he was growing up, obviously, but old habits die hard. He's been forever trying to be a better person on this front, even more so after he got married, but it's a struggle when it was one of the only things you knew in life.

--- Motivational

Only really applies in a few situations; he's a good team worker, but his motivational skills don't very often show their face there. It's more for his children - he wants them to be the best they can be, and wants them to do exactly what they want to do in life. He tries to motivate them in every way possible, be it with kind words or maybe the odd bag of candy from the store now and again. What can I say? His kids mean one hell of a lot to him.

Marcus Kellerman was born to his mother and father, obviously, in a surprisingly small town of Stevensville, Montana. The first part of his life was as simple as any other person's, really. He started to grow up, he had an

older sister, and eventually had a younger brother, too, which was always nice. His parents were quite the interesting ones, too. He was the first-born son after all, so he was expected to be the one that set a good example for his younger brother, first to carry on the family name, and so on. His parents had high expectations, and one of his main fears was never being able to meet them. It caused some issues for him in his younger life, but he was doing his best to keep it all in order. He tried hard in school, stayed passionate about his hobbies, didn't get too distracted by menial things, and by the time he'd reached his teenage years, he could pretty much see the person he was going to be for the rest of his life.

Without lying, he turned out to be quite the stuck up person in his younger days, but after going to college things started to die down as he realized he was going to get himself in too much trouble, otherwise. It was hard to let go of the only ways you knew, though, and that did show. He tried his best, though. He focused on his studies more than anything, but after meeting more people, his opinions shifted. He didn't want to be such a big part of the family anymore. He wanted his own life, in a new city, not some small town in the middle of nowhere. And that was more or less what he did. As his college course allowed him to take a sandwich year to work in industry for a while, he tried to aim for as far away as possible (he even tried to get something out of the country, but that didn't work out). He did end up in a company somewhere in New York, though, so journeying across the country the way he did certainly left him with wider options.

It was while he was in New York for a year that he met the love of his life, Amelia Edwards. She was at college in New York, but, that wasn't the only interesting thing about her. She was... Someone that Marcus felt he belonged with, and she seemed to be the first woman who was able to put up with the way he could be at points, with the questionable opinions and ways of judging people. But she wanted to push him to be the best he could be, clearly, because that's what she did.

It stayed long distant when Marcus went back to Montana to finish his degree, but, it didn't die out. As soon as he graduated, he said goodbye to his family and moved straight back down to New York, and he hasn't left since. Life went on, he went back to working for the company he did his gap year with, and things went on a steady climb. The deal was all sealed at the birth of his first son, Jackson - by this point Marcus was with a bigger and better company, and he was only more inspired to change his own way of life, and be a good role model to his son, to be the father that he himself never really had as he was growing up.

A few years down the line, and their youngest son was born. Chandler.

As the years went by, things settled, and Marcus had finally started to become content with himself. It was quite the perfect scenario, really. He knew there was no chance of him ever being a big and mighty CEO, or the creator of the world's next breakthrough, the main thing was that he was happy.
