My suggestion: Choose an MBTI personality type at random. For example, INTP, which happens to be my type. Here is the description:
"INTP (Logician) is a personality type with the Introverted, Intuitive, Thinking, and Prospecting traits. These flexible thinkers enjoy taking an unconventional approach to many aspects of life. They often seek out unlikely paths, mixing willingness to experiment with personal creativity.
The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existence.
ALBERT EINSTEIN
People with the INTP personality type (Logicians) pride themselves on their unique perspective and vigorous intellect. They can’t help but puzzle over the mysteries of the universe – which may explain why some of the most influential philosophers and scientists of all time have been INTPs. People with this personality type tend to prefer solitude, as they can easily become immersed in their thoughts when they are left to their own devices. They are also incredibly creative and inventive, and they are not afraid to express their novel ways of thinking or to stand out from the crowd.

The Life of the Mind

INTP personalities often lose themselves in thought – which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. People with this personality type hardly ever stop thinking. From the moment they wake up, their mind buzzes with ideas, questions, and insights. At times, they may even find themselves conducting full-fledged debates in their own heads. And it’s not uncommon for them to drift off during conversations. Their mind simply executes a detour to uncharted territories of thought where new ideas are constantly being born.

Imaginative and curious, people with the INTP personality type can find endless fascination in the workings of their own mind.
From the outside, INTPs may seem to live in a never-ending daydream. They have a reputation for being pensive, detached, and a bit reserved. That is, until they actively try to direct all of their mental energy on the moment or the person at hand. But regardless of which mode they’re in, INTPs are Introverts and tend to get tired out by extensive socializing. After a long day, they crave time alone to consult their own thoughts.

INTPs cherish their independence and often find themselves most productive during the late evening hours when distractions are kept to a minimum. Even so, it would be a mistake to think that these personalities are unfriendly or uptight. When they connect with someone who can match their mental energy, INTPs absolutely light up, leaping from one thought to another. Few things energize them like the opportunity to swap ideas or enjoy a lively debate with another curious, inquiring soul.

Elementary, My Dear Logician

People with the INTP personality type love to analyze patterns. Without necessarily knowing how they do it, they often have a Sherlock Holmes-like knack for spotting discrepancies and irregularities. In other words, it might be a bad idea to lie to someone with this type.

Ironically, they shouldn’t always be held at their word. INTPs rarely mean to be dishonest, but with their active mind, they sometimes overflow with ideas and theories that they haven’t thought through all the way. These personalities may change their mind on anything from their weekend plans to a fundamental moral principle without ever realizing that they’d appeared to have made up their mind in the first place. In addition, they are often happy to play devil’s advocate in order to keep an interesting discussion humming along.

For people with the INTP personality type, the best conversations are like brainstorming sessions, with plenty of room for unconventional thoughts and off-the-wall what-ifs.
INTPs could spend all day musing about ideas and possibilities – and they often do. That said, the practical, everyday work of turning those ideas into reality doesn’t always hold their interest. Fortunately, when it comes to dissecting a tricky, multilayered problem and coming up with a creative solution, few personality types can match INTPs’ creative genius and potential.

Mysteries of the Universe

People with this personality type want to understand everything in the universe, but one area in particular tends to mystify them: human nature. As their name suggests, INTPs (a.k.a Logicians) feel most at home in the realm of logic and rationality. As a result, they can find themselves baffled by the illogical, irrational ways that feelings and emotions influence people’s behavior – including their own.

This doesn’t mean that INTPs are unfeeling. These personalities generally want to offer emotional support to their friends and loved ones, but they don’t necessarily know how. And because they can’t decide on the best, most efficient way to offer support, they may hold off on doing or saying anything at all.

This β€œanalysis paralysis” can affect multiple areas of INTPs’ lives. People with this personality type can overthink even the smallest of decisions. This sometimes makes them feel ineffective and stuck, so exhausted by the endless parade of thoughts in their mind that they struggle to get things done.

The good news is that they don’t have to stay stuck for long. Their unique strengths include everything that they need to pull themselves out of the ruts that they occasionally fall into. By leveraging their creativity and their open-mindedness, people with the INTP personality type can reach their full potential – both as thinkers and as happy, well-rounded people."
From there, you can include characteristics that seem appropriate for that type. Here is an example of a potential description you can use (I'm not saying to actually use it, although you may if you want, it's just there to give you an idea):

"Character Profile: Dr. Alex Riddle, The Archetypal INTP

Basic Information

Name: Dr. Alex Riddle
Age: 32
Occupation: Research Scientist (Quantum Computing)
Education: Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics

Physical Description

Height: 5'10"
Weight: 160 lbs
Hair Color: Dark brown, often unkempt
Eye Color: Hazel
Dress Style: Comfort over fashion, typically seen wearing a graphic tee featuring a witty science pun, jeans, and sneakers. Occasionally dons a lab coat that has seen better days.

Personality Traits

Dominant Function - Introverted Thinking (Ti): Dr. Riddle is primarily driven by an insatiable thirst for knowledge and understanding. He is highly analytical and spends much of his time deep in thought, working through complex problems. His approach to life is generally systematic, and he has an exceptional ability to focus intensely on subjects that interest him.
Auxiliary Function - Extraverted Intuition (Ne): His secondary function, Ne, allows him to see possibilities and connections everywhere. He is an abstract thinker, often lost in thought about potential discoveries and theoretical innovations. This trait also makes him adaptable, able to pivot his thinking to new ideas when presented with evidence or a compelling argument.
Tertiary Function - Introverted Sensing (Si): This less developed function means he occasionally reflects on past experiences to inform his present decisions, but he doesn't rely heavily on tradition or routine. He may have a few habits that provide a minimal structure to his otherwise chaotic pursuit of interests.
Inferior Function - Extraverted Feeling (Fe): Alex struggles with this function the most. While he can be surprisingly empathetic at times, he often finds social interactions draining and is not naturally in tune with others' emotions or social norms. He tends to be perceived as detached or aloof, not because he doesn't care, but because he doesn't always know how to express his concern or connect on an emotional level.

Hobbies and Interests

  • Theoretical Physics: Alex spends most of his free time reading scientific journals and engaging in online forums discussing quantum mechanics and particle physics.
  • Programming: He enjoys coding and developing small software tools to aid in his research or just for fun.
  • Chess: A strategic game that allows him to apply his analytical skills against opponents.
  • Sci-Fi Literature: He is a fan of science fiction, particularly stories that explore the implications of future technologies and alien civilizations.
  • Music: Prefers instrumental music when working, as lyrics can be distracting. Has a soft spot for classic rock when relaxing.

Behavioral Patterns

  • Often lost in thought, can seem absent-minded or forgetful of mundane tasks.
  • Prefers to work alone and may become irritable if interrupted.
  • Can work on a single problem for hours or days without needing a break.
  • Communicates more comfortably in writing than in verbal conversation.
  • Tends to question norms and authority, not out of disrespect but from a genuine desire to understand the rationale behind them.

Strengths and Weaknesses

Strengths:
  • Exceptional analytical and abstract reasoning abilities.
  • Independent and innovative thinker.
  • Open-minded and willing to change his opinions based on new information.
  • Highly focused and dedicated to his field of interest.
Weaknesses:
  • Can be socially awkward and may inadvertently neglect relationships.
  • Sometimes impractical, with a tendency to ignore details that don't interest him.
  • Overly critical of himself and others, which can lead to indecisiveness.
  • May become so absorbed in his thoughts that he loses touch with the outside world.

Goals and Motivations

  • To contribute a significant discovery to the field of quantum computing.
  • To gain a deeper understanding of the universe and its fundamental laws.
  • To develop a theory or model that bridges the gap between quantum mechanics and general relativity.

Relationships

  • Family: Has a cordial relationship with family members but is not deeply involved in their daily lives.
  • Friends: Has a small group of close friends who share his interests or appreciate his quirky sense of humor and intellect.
  • Romantic: Struggles with romantic relationships due to his difficulty in expressing emotions and prioritizing his partner's needs.
Dr. Alex Riddle, with his INTP personality, is the archetypal absent-minded professor, a genius in his field, yet perpetually puzzled by the everyday emotional landscapes that come more easily to others. His quest for knowledge and truth is his guiding light, and his journey is as much about understanding himself as it is about deciphering the secrets of the cosmos."

I would like to be in the RP but my CS may be delayed... had some bad news earlier on so yeah :/
that’s okay !! I think if everyone prefers, might give y’all a few more days as there are still a few unfinished apps (including my own hehe).

idiot idiot What's the word? Don't mind waiting - RP Seems fun enough that I'd pretty much wait forever. Just wanna know that it's still gonna happen.

hey !

I apologise for my greatly delayed response. I’ve been MIA for the last month due to some unforeseeable family stuff. I’m starting to realise there is a curse every time I try to gm something, bad shit happens in my life lmao.
I’m probably going to take a longer leave of absence from rpn to get my head screwed on straight but realised I should come and let you guys know β€” I really appreciate everyone’s applications and hope they can be used elsewhere. I was really excited to get this started but should look after myself first and maybe in the future who knows!

I hope y’all understand and I’ll hopefully see you guys around when I come back! thanks and apologies again! :-)

No worries. Go take care of the real world. RPN's (hopefully) not going anywhere.
Will also be right here if you were hoping to restart this when you get back.
